Episode description

Every Friday around 8:15-8:20 a.m. on KFAN 100.3 the Power Trip Morning show plays the Initials Game. The game involves 12 items people, place, things, phrases or anything as long as they share the same initials. All 12 items share the same initials. The contestants do not know the initials until they are revealed shortly before the game starts. Each item has 6 clues. As soon as the contestants know who or what the host is describing, they yell out their name. Their name is their buzzer. If the contestant gets it right, they get a point. If they get it wrong they are out for just that item. The item does have to be pronounced correctly. It is best out of 12 with tiebreakers if needed. Tiebreaker items have 3 clues.

What what combo were you getting? Say? Paul Chart is there today? So I'm gonna go PC. You're going PC. I like his thinker of charge. I like his thinking. Now, in fairness, I did this list weeks ago and we booked you white yesterday. Yesterday. Yeah, all right, but that doesn't mean it can't. It doesn't mean I'm knock out that way normally fourish weeks ahead. That doesn't mean maybe I had this combo in the hopper and said, I'm gonna see if I can sneak this in

the more. Let's find out Tim and Brainard is guessing PC for a shot at fifty seven thousand dollars. He's doing it in honor of Paul Charcian? Did that gamble payoff? Does he have at least one right for two fifty shot at fifty seven thousand dollars? We? Oh my god, yeam Tim, Tim, you have at least one right and you've already secured at least two hundred and fifty bucks. How do you feel about two fifty? Well, that's fantastic. Now I've got a one twenty six shot at fifty whatever

thousand dollars. I love your logic. That time stops right, You've locked you rue. So now he's twenty six him six Sam fifty seven thousand dollars Game four ninety nine. If you do win today, by the way, then think about it. Then no one will accuse us of rigging it for game five hundred, Right, if he would have won it next week, then I had disaster? Did Tim and Brainerd? I won't feel better? Right? Did he just win fifty seven thousand dollars by guessing Hall Charchion's initials.

Come he's going. PC is Tim and brainerd the third ever jackpot winner and have fifty seven thousand dollars. No, sorry Tim Man swing Tim, Tim? All right, dude, you got two hundred and fifty bucks. I'm like, okay, rail for pott Wales. I don't like I used to do this all the time, but I don't like born in twenty and thirteen. That's easy math. This is an eleven year old kid. But if I say debuted in,

that's also mean debut he deals meaning hello, all right. I wish you would have said something like Prince Gary, just like a worst name, Prince Guardian, like a oh, Prince Garcian would be a nice nickname for you. Anyway, I do like I think of myself as being very regult, very hawk has three, Marnie. A couple of points there. Marnie and Sauce just a one back with two each charts, you have one. There's three items to go of PG. Here's number ten. Clue number one,

often used symbolically or metaphorically. Clue number two represents a transition. Clue number three often said to be guarded. Paul, go for it, Pearly Gates. All right, Tune, I don't know how you did that. Everybody's still in this. Mathematically, with two to go, Hawk and Sauce you each have three.

Marnie, you have two charts. You need the last two to time. So Chris and Sauce with the lead. With two to go, here's number eleven of PG. Clue number one considered less than or lower and not as important. Clue number two this is a group. Clue number three traces back to theater and vaudeville. Paul, yep, Peanut Gallery. That's right, there's the Peanut Gallery. Stole that one from you, all right, Sauce has the lead. Mathematically, that mathematically eliminates charts in Marnie. But

you two keep playing. It comes down to this, Sauce. If you get this right, you're the winner. Sweet. If Chris gets this right, we have a tie and a tie breaker. If charge Or gets a correct Sauce also wins. In Sauce helps Sauce win, Hawk goes for the tie. Here we go. Number twelve of PG. Clue number one can be indoors or outdoors. Clue number two often monitored. Clue number three commonly includes levels. Clue number four can require a ticket. Clue number five this

Yeah, this game will go down in memory. Yeah, five hundred will feel a lot better than this. Wow, we Chris, Monster Star Sauce had a couple of brilliant ones, Thank you. A couple of stumbles there, yea peanut gallery killed me. Yeah, because you

put it on the board and then waiting. We're just hung there and I'm like, I don't think no offense you, I don't think you would have had it if he hadn't at it five guests earlier. What was the vaudeville Yeah, traces theater. I mean that I might have. That's where I kind of put it together because peanut, right, But maybe it's also in front of everybody's mind because Chris had guessed. Of course, yeah, it helps. Yeah, the peanut of lagom do you think Yeah, probably for

sure. Yeah, it's a fun word to say. Yeah. Yeah, I was waiting for Paul George, but Hawk doesn't know who that is. Brilliant. Now that I've won, I'm sponsored by my friends at Seventh Avenue Pizza. Tag Seventh Avenue Pizza now through the end of today, and one lucky winner will win one hundred dollars to put towards reestocking their freezer with Seventh Avenue Pizza. Thank you, Seventh Avenue Pizza. You're the best friends.

Graham. Here's the thing. But he said Prince Graham. I thought to myself, well, it's obviously not Prince George then, because he wouldn't have said Prince Graham if it was actually Prince George. That's too easy. I must be thinking of the older dude, not the wrong camily. Yeah, you're right, sure, ah blew it. Talk to myself right out of that one. Charge just blew it. Had I not been stuck on Puce greenho well, really so lost. But yes, you and the rest of

the listeners couldn't get that out of your head. I'm sure. Now my wife's trolling me with Prince Graham. Yeah. My guess is that one's going to stick. You also get home. I think she's going to give you a Prince Graham. Yeah, wow, lucky. Uh. You also once famously guest Princess Eric loyalty because wasn't that just Prince Eric. Wasn't Eric from a Little Mermaid? But you said Princess Eric? Yeah, yeah, just not your thing. It's all right, you still won. Yeah, it's

always good to stumble that bade you good. Yeah, it's weird when you start hot like that. I thought I was gonna get nine today. You were going to I mean the one you had one of them, you was really good. But I forgot what it was because I won. It was one of the first ice s gougeing past gas. All I said was past crazy in physiological that's not very much. Had to get that one because of his dad and I had just done it. Yeah, you did right before

the studio to yourself. Yeah, it sounds like a jazz concert. Brilliant. And then after that Hawker got pepper. Now do you jop down? Corey? Are wrong answers because those are sometimes like, hey, I'll be doing PG again in two years and I can slip in pay grade or whatever. No, no, no, not really. You mean in terms of guesses that I don't have in mind exactly. Yeah, that I'll do sometimes.

But the guy who does Power Trip initials right, because I'm right, I'm at initials game on Twitter. But there's a rube who's super nice who does the Power Trip Initials accounts. Yeah. I keep a whole bunch of stats like points, wins, major victories, streaks, all these kind of things. Side it keeps track of how many times you guys guess incorrectly? Jeez, what item you guys got it on? Like, his stats go way deeper than he's the pro football focus of initials. Yep, Mine is

the box score. His is the sable metrics, right, I like it. He has all these crazy stats and like you know, Sauce guest wrong one hundred and sixty two times in twenty twenty. Per I don't keep trying. That's time for he does. Yeah, I'm going to take all your takes before you get on the next show. Yeah, Pa and Garch coming out at nine. Yeah, but uh, I have two, but I'll go with this one first because I think it's the most important. What were

your thoughts on the whole peacock thing last week? Well, I don't like it. Yeah, I mean I don't like that we have. It's yet another thing that if you want to watch playoff football, I gotta go buy and then cancel or you know, and you know, you know, part of it is they're assuming there's going to be ten twenty percent of people that just leave it on indefinitely, you know, months that it's hot, and that's what they want. And by the way, and it's not just about

the six bucks that it costs. And I canceled it, by the way, in the third quarter, like signed up like five minutes for a kickoff. I canceled it in game because it felt good. And then they stick you for the rest of the month, so I can still watch a month

of the Office or whatever I want. But the other thing that nobody thinks about is they collected all of your personal information when you agreed to pay right, So now they got me my name, my address, my credit card, I mean, and from that you can go get an enormous amount of data on you. So for Peacock, not only did I give up the six bucks, but I gave them a peek into, you know, my personal life. And I don't like it. And I don't think the NFL

should be forcing this. We already pay for the stadiums. I mean, we should be able to watch games at fundamentally no cost. I don't like this, and the fact that so many people did it means we're just gonna get more of this BS. This is gonna be like do I gotta sign up for the Discovery Channel? Do I have to sign up next year? Am I gonna have to sign up for Animal Planet? Plus? I don't where does it last to Minnesota, United or not? Apparently I don't.

Martin's Amazon Prime potentially the home of Bally Sports North yea feature correct, So it was pretty big news this week. It was very seen as very positive news around our office. There is still a ton of questions to be answered, like what level of Amazon Prime will you need to sign up for to be able to watch your favorite team, but just to have an outlet and to possibly have this settled and for us to be able to move forward.

Is new talk about deep pockets. I mean, you know, you go from a scenario or we didn't know about the long term viability of the owners of ballet sports and arts too. Amazon now owns you with a a trillion dollar you know, company valuation. That's kind of nice. And charge Peacock isn't even the worst place your credit card information is. That's a good point. Yeah, well last week I was pretty pro peacock, just because I like to be a contrarian. But if you don't like Peacock, then I'm

with you, yes see you. Whatever charge says goes because again charts, think about this, There are no two cooler people in the Twin Cities the great by absolutely, we are trendsetters. Everybody wants to look and be like us very much, so very cool. You gonna have to grow your hair out, I understand if you look at it, Yeah, you look at a little longer air. Yeah are you saying, my man? Yeah? You two should go thumbing the wise on it. Uh, huh about the

manscaping. I get work on Prince Graham every every day, you know, God, I love it. Next, more charge margins. We'll see you next week. Correct, yes, Marks a treasurer. We're back at five thirty
