Episode description
Substance abuse is a major problem on the island of Hawaii, particularly amongst the youth. Hawaii hosts the highest rate of methamphetamine use and one of the highest rates of suicide in the nation, with one of the lowest levels of resources available to communities.
The Keala Foundations mission from the very beginning was to create a free and safe place where kids could remain accountable, belong, and know they are loved.
Please join us in helping to raise money for the continued support of the Keala Foundation by registering to run as part of Team Power Monkey this September. All proceeds will go to providing the children on the island free transportation to and from the gym, as well as character building fitness programs, mentors, and education on how to eat healthy and how to remain mentally strong.
