Episode description

Champagne is an alcoholic beverage with many pre-conceived notions –a sparkly, glamourous drink to celebrate life, love and more. Today I am interviewing Kyla Kirkpatrick, who has two businesses The Champagne Dame and Emperor Champagne are dedicated to this special drink. Kyla Kirkpatrick lives a life of passion, following her heart and creating an incredible personal story.

Kyla gave up her corporate career in 2005, going on a one-way ticket to Champagne in France to pursue a deep fascination with the region’s history. Today she is living and breathing champagne from champagne Masterclasses to a blog, via her Champagne Club and French travel trips, Kyla is all about sharing the particularities and history of the world’s most fascinating wine.

In this podcast you can learn:

  1. What is the history of champagne and how has that evolved? E.g. a drink for a celebration.
  2. Technically only French bubbles can be called champagne - so does this mean they are the best? Why or why not?
  3. Kyla’s favorite champagne brand or style and why? How is that best enjoyed?
  4. How do you create a business focused on such a narrow niche?
  5. Last advice: What is your favorite quote or idea that sums up The Politics of Champagne?
