[SPEAKER_10]: It's political. [SPEAKER_10]: It's a lot to fight. [SPEAKER_10]: Thank you, ridicule. [SPEAKER_10]: You're making fun. [SPEAKER_10]: Where do you want the politics嗎? [SPEAKER_10]: Shocksmith Pearson, Jodie Hamilton. [SPEAKER_03]: Jodie! [SPEAKER_03]: Sean! [SPEAKER_05]: It's hope, Nary. [SPEAKER_03]: It is hope, Dade. [SPEAKER_03]: I have been crowned. [SPEAKER_05]: You've been grat well, you know. [SPEAKER_05]: You are a queen anyway. [SPEAKER_05]: We just, you know, we all bow.

[SPEAKER_05]: We're like, Jodie, Jodie. [SPEAKER_05]: We're not worthy. [SPEAKER_05]: We're not worthy. [SPEAKER_05]: And that's just Lonnie, it is fun. [SPEAKER_05]: It's a Wednesday night. [SPEAKER_05]: We are very glad you guys are joining us here at the politics mark from wherever you happen to be coming in. [SPEAKER_05]: Whether that happens to be WCTT and a 20 in Chicago or anything.

[SPEAKER_05]: I'm nine fifty in the Twin Cities Minneapolis St. [SPEAKER_05]: Paul, maybe you are listening to the teacher or talk in Tennessee, or maybe you are listening on progressive voices radio, whatever you want to be, or maybe you are going to be, you're going to be listening on Georgian now here just to just a few weeks away.

[SPEAKER_05]: We're still glad for those of you who are in the ATL if you're listening elsewhere, or maybe maybe maybe maybe you're one of those magical future people. [SPEAKER_05]: We like future people.

[SPEAKER_05]: exactly you guys listen on the podcast and we're glad that you put us in your podcast player or you subscribe at the politicsbar.com six bucks a month basically buck fifty a week bam you help Jody help me look it's like buying us a drink and if you like what we're doing [SPEAKER_05]: totally legit totally fine way to do it last night after I got out of the bar here went and had a late late kind of a snack dinner thing kind of thing and drinks with a couple of our friends

[SPEAKER_05]: uh... sherry jacobas and bruise baritlets and bruises wife nancy so jacobas look that that is one of the benefits of being in dc is you know you get to you get to see some of the people here and you know we got to talk about a few things i did not realize that nancy bruises wife is actually from oklahoma and so well we we were talking about the the

[SPEAKER_05]: in a lot of places, whether it's politics, whether it's media, whether it's sports, there are not that many friendly rivalries anymore. [SPEAKER_05]: I don't know, it was more of a friendship I think with your mom and share or some of the other artists, right? [SPEAKER_05]: It's not like a friendly rivalry. [SPEAKER_03]: They've never been rivals.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, see, I didn't think so, but I know that I know that, you know, all the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, [SPEAKER_05]: I won't even say people because people's a little more classy than that, but you know what I'm talking about? [SPEAKER_05]: The trashy tablades out there are like, oh, Carol Burnett is not on the sheet or they would always do, you know, try to position and you're like, dude, Carol's like, it likes everybody.

[SPEAKER_05]: I don't know what you're talking about. [SPEAKER_03]: No, and she never had a rivalry with Lucy or Lily or Cher, I mean, Cher literally did her show next door to my mom show.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, so any case in sports, especially though, there are, you know, some serious rivalries for example, Oklahoma Texas, I believe that game is coming up this weekend in football and the hate each other's guts, which is fine because a lot of people from Oklahoma don't like a lot of people from Texas and I've had, you know, people explain this to me on both sides, but the University of Nebraska and University of Oklahoma rivalry goes back to when it was the big eight.

[SPEAKER_05]: And and basically it was Nebraska, Oklahoma, uh, we're kind of like the chipmunks. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay. [SPEAKER_05]: Based basically, would you like to have the championship this year? [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, no, you can have the championship this year. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, no, you. [SPEAKER_05]: Right. [SPEAKER_05]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_05]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_05]: And the other six members of the conference were like, [SPEAKER_05]: But Texas blew up the Southwest Conference because of some question legal things and they didn't get charged with it and then they came begging to Nebraska at Oklahoma and said we blew up our toy. [SPEAKER_05]: Can we come play with you while bringing a lot of money?

[SPEAKER_05]: And Nebraska and Oklahoma were like, okay fine, and then Texas did a bunch of, you know, cheating dirty things and and Tom Osborne, who was that the athletic director of the time former Greek, you know, legendary coach Nebraska was like, you know, I can deal with you being dirty about some of the sports stuff, but when it comes to academics, we're here for school, we're out, we're going to the big 10 by and so they left it.

[SPEAKER_05]: So we were talking about this, and Nancy Christie was lavish. [SPEAKER_05]: She's like, yeah, you know, we actually have like, you know, Nebraska and Oklahoma have a good rivalry. [SPEAKER_05]: I said, yeah, because we both hate Texas. [SPEAKER_05]: Now, I don't hate you if you live in Texas. [SPEAKER_05]: There are a lot of people I know that I like in Texas. [SPEAKER_05]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_05]: Choney is right again.

[SPEAKER_05]: But look, there are certain people who are involved with certain sports programs in Texas that they have this, it's a science problem. [SPEAKER_05]: They had this problem of altered gravity. [SPEAKER_05]: They believe the universe revolves around them. [SPEAKER_05]: And it just, yeah, it just, it does not. [SPEAKER_05]: So anyway, but had a lot of fun with them. [SPEAKER_05]: And we will have to have Bruce here in the bar.

[SPEAKER_05]: And maybe see if we can, you know, get your back. [SPEAKER_05]: Maybe you can answer you. [SPEAKER_03]: I think she will, because it was so cute. [SPEAKER_03]: Because she tagged me, and I wish you were here. [SPEAKER_05]: I'm like, oh, yeah, I know. [SPEAKER_05]: I wanted to ask him if you were. [SPEAKER_05]: But you know, it's, it is what it is. [SPEAKER_03]: It was a commute.

[SPEAKER_05]: look you you get a hangout with some of the fun people there in the L.A. [SPEAKER_05]: into the bar. [SPEAKER_05]: I get a hangout with some of the people at the in the DC into the bar here. [SPEAKER_05]: And the best thing is is that we get a hangout with everybody who was here tonight with us, including Bob Cesca who will be here later, which we're pretty jazzed about. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, Jojo from Jersey here tomorrow. [SPEAKER_03]: Our first out.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Look at that. [SPEAKER_05]: Look at that. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: So. [SPEAKER_05]: you hang out with course Karen Anita well we got a lot to talk about with those two because there's a lot of stuff going on a lot of stuff going on in the news on tap which hopefully you guys are subscribed to for free at the politicsbar dot com yeah Trump's War on America continues oh yeah jodys rolling her eyes for those of you can't see

[SPEAKER_05]: uh... so the Texas National Guard has arrived in Illinois as of right now sometime early evening here in Wednesday they have not rolled out onto the streets but uh... i i really like this earlier uh... jake of silver off who's a really good reporter i really i respect him i like what he does amen [SPEAKER_05]: He caught up with the governor, Governor Pritzker in Daily Plaza today and it was I just I was like holy crap Pritzker's not messing around You got to hear this.

[SPEAKER_09]: I got this on the DVR here You know as well as I do the president of the United States in the last 24 hours call for you to be imprisoned I want to give you an opportunity to see your reaction on social media, but I want to hear what you have to say back to the president of the United States [SPEAKER_07]: Let's start with the idea that this is a convicted felon. [SPEAKER_07]: I mean, think about that. [SPEAKER_07]: Who is threatening to jail me?

[SPEAKER_07]: I got to say this guy's unhinged. [SPEAKER_07]: He's insecure. [SPEAKER_07]: He's a wannabe dictator. [SPEAKER_07]: And there's one thing I really want to say to Donald Trump. [SPEAKER_07]: If you come for my people, you come through me. [SPEAKER_07]: So come and get me. [SPEAKER_07]: Amen. [SPEAKER_05]: No joke. [SPEAKER_03]: No joke. [SPEAKER_05]: No joke. [SPEAKER_05]: Johnny was Johnny was given a donny the fingers, by the way, there did this screen on that one.

[SPEAKER_03]: The two separate one finger solutes. [SPEAKER_05]: Right, exactly. [SPEAKER_05]: You know, you're just you're telling him he's number one one. [SPEAKER_05]: More like number two. [SPEAKER_03]: He is more like number two, actually. [SPEAKER_05]: Judy is right. [SPEAKER_05]: But look, the whole thing is, Pritzker and I love the fact that when Pritzker was saying this, he looked right into the camera and he said, you know, come and get me. [SPEAKER_05]: Which?

[SPEAKER_05]: bullies hate that they do when when you stand up and you are not afraid bullies and look that's a terrorist are terrorists are a higher grade of bully and that's really what Donald is doing he is terrorizing the people of this country which he is supposed to be in charge of for those of you listening in Canada please do not or or those of you listening in France or [SPEAKER_05]: Okay, and we do have some people who are here in those areas of the bar.

[SPEAKER_05]: Please do not repeat our stupid ass mistake. [SPEAKER_05]: Okay. [SPEAKER_02]: Please don't. [SPEAKER_02]: Please don't. [SPEAKER_05]: Look, we are the dumbasses. [SPEAKER_05]: We get to make the mistakes like that because we're stupid. [SPEAKER_05]: And then you guys get to look at us and go and then do something smart. [SPEAKER_05]: And be like, see, don't do that.

[SPEAKER_05]: So we're we're the member of your your broad family that everyone looks at and goes oh God don't do that just so Yeah, just back the head right exactly. [SPEAKER_03]: It's it's that. [SPEAKER_05]: I mean If you look in the news on tap today You will see Trump did in fact call for jailing Chicago's Democratic mayor and the governor of Illinois on social media [SPEAKER_05]: It's like he thinks this is some kind of game. [SPEAKER_05]: He does.

[SPEAKER_05]: It's a reality show for him. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, you're right. [SPEAKER_05]: You're right. [SPEAKER_05]: It's ridiculous, but Jack Jenkins, great journalist. [SPEAKER_05]: He does works for a real-age religion news service. [SPEAKER_05]: I've used Jack's stuff for God going back far as I can remember. [SPEAKER_05]: Probably back to almost 15 years now. [SPEAKER_05]: He's got a great piece we included in the news on tap today.

[SPEAKER_05]: He says that clergy and faith-based protesters are confirming that ice is threatening their safety and their religious freedom.

[SPEAKER_05]: yeah did you see the video it's it's not something that we can we will be getting video I'm where we're getting real working on a kid you got yeah there's only the two of us running this bar so you know yeah you got us sometimes anybody want to work for free hi any intams available yeah but we don't want them to run this well okay maybe but we like to pay people what their worth which you know but you know college interns hi

[SPEAKER_05]: I suppose that's how that's possibly, but anyway, so um, I'm sure you guys saw the video of of this this uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh,

[SPEAKER_05]: and he's standing there in front of the the broad view detention center, the one that Karen told us about and raising his hands up praying obviously loudly in English. [SPEAKER_05]: He's he's a Christian preacher of some kind and he's basically asking the ice guys to to, you know, basically right now it's there being a hole and one of them hit and hit him in the head with a pepper ball from his gun in the head. [SPEAKER_03]: They're trying to provoke people of peace.

[SPEAKER_03]: Apparently, though, everybody. [SPEAKER_03]: According to Tom Hartman, this Friday, I think they're going to have a furry party in front of the Portland ice. [SPEAKER_03]: It's going to be furry, actually. [SPEAKER_05]: It's party. [SPEAKER_05]: That's exactly, look, Malcolm Nance. [SPEAKER_05]: I know he's on the other side of the world right now. [SPEAKER_05]: So he is not in this corner of the bar. [SPEAKER_05]: We're listening on the podcast, Malcolm.

[SPEAKER_05]: Stay safe, brother. [SPEAKER_05]: Yes. [SPEAKER_05]: We are, I heard him on step show earlier today. [SPEAKER_05]: We've had him in the bar here a couple of times. [SPEAKER_05]: He said, look, and especially we know that indivisible in 51 50 are getting together to get ready to do do do do, no kings to coming up not this weekend the next weekend on the 18th. [SPEAKER_05]: It's going to be great.

[SPEAKER_05]: But the thing is, like Malcolm has said, y'all have to make it a big ass party. [SPEAKER_05]: Um, you know, get, get your inflatable costumes, get your other costumes, make your posters legible from like 50. [SPEAKER_03]: It's helpful. [SPEAKER_05]: Don't, don't write with little pen, make them legible. [SPEAKER_03]: It's difficult when you don't do like graphics. [SPEAKER_03]: You don't get it because you're like, oh, it looks big, but it doesn't. [SPEAKER_05]: Right.

[SPEAKER_05]: Like plan it out with pencil first and then you can do it with anchor paint or whatever later. [SPEAKER_05]: Well, I have a good time. [SPEAKER_05]: Make sure you pick a great playlist. [SPEAKER_05]: You know, get your dance moves ready and have fun. [SPEAKER_05]: Because remember, fascist hate fun. [SPEAKER_05]: They do. [SPEAKER_05]: exactly. [SPEAKER_05]: So that's that's why that that's what we're going to do and you guys should continue to save.

[SPEAKER_05]: By the way, new writers, Episodes poll also happens to be in our news on tap today. [SPEAKER_05]: Finds most Americans do not want troops deployed the United States to U.S. [SPEAKER_05]: cities unless there's an external threat. [SPEAKER_05]: I I know you're shocked. [SPEAKER_05]: You're shocked and stunned. [SPEAKER_03]: So I'm so shocked that people in these United States don't want to search in the streets.

[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, yeah, but it's, but it's good to see it is good to see people saying, hey, look, man, this, this crap is not what we do here. [SPEAKER_05]: And I'm glad that more Americans are standing up against that. [SPEAKER_05]: Of course, more Americans started to stand up to Tiny Johnson and, oh, God, did you see his little [SPEAKER_05]: thing today at the Capitol heat.

[SPEAKER_05]: So Senator's Kelly and a guy I go decided to do a press availability outside the speakers office, which I don't like it for sound, but for, you know, for effect, you don't have to be aimed at the speakers office door, or for the fact you can, you know, they're, they're, it's kind of a pretty place. [SPEAKER_05]: Sure. [SPEAKER_05]: What's beautiful. [SPEAKER_05]: Right. [SPEAKER_05]: And then, well, the Republicans came out and weighed their tiny Johnson around.

[SPEAKER_05]: And, you know, they're [SPEAKER_03]: We wait is he for foot 10. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, no, it's even Miller. [SPEAKER_03]: That's for it. [SPEAKER_05]: I keep forgetting who's for foot 10. [SPEAKER_05]: We will talk about who's, um, coming up shorts. [SPEAKER_05]: And it's very definitely the Republicans on that. [SPEAKER_05]: We do have a great drink of the day today. [SPEAKER_05]: Uh, I got to say, you know, it's, um, you could use several several arms to hold the dream.

[SPEAKER_05]: You can get both of the arms. [SPEAKER_13]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_05]: For those of you who are subscribed to the drink of the day, you know exactly what we're talking about. [SPEAKER_05]: Look, get your drink first. [SPEAKER_05]: However, many arms you got come on back. [SPEAKER_05]: It's a Wednesday night here. [SPEAKER_03]: And they could be sticky arms. [SPEAKER_11]: Drew will be right back after we'd pay some bills at the politics bar.

[SPEAKER_05]: it is a Wednesday night here at the politics bar thank you very much for joining us from wherever you happen to be and thank you as well for getting in touch with us on all of our great social media platforms let's see we got blue sky and threads instagram, sub-stack, facebook and twitter you know where we're you know where we are at say that five times fast we are at the politics bar

[SPEAKER_05]: And of course, remember you can always call us on the bar phone 21367772-52821367777258 That's 213677 salt. [SPEAKER_05]: I don't like it in your margarita.

[SPEAKER_05]: We will uh, you know, look if it's a good call and you guys give us a really good idea We'll just we'll call you back at some point or you can only make just play the voice mail whatever Uh, we did get some messages by the way, Jodie uh, uh, from last night seems like everybody was talking in the Facebook corner of the bar [SPEAKER_05]: Bridgett, who, as you know, is a huge fugosign fan.

[SPEAKER_05]: She once again said, John is an awesome guest, and I really appreciate his insider religion, and then she said, his book is effing awesome, and I'm not surprised it sold out, which I'm not either. [SPEAKER_05]: I'm not. [SPEAKER_05]: It's great. [SPEAKER_05]: Look, you know, if you guys haven't gotten the book in print, in digital, on audio book, you definitely should do that. [SPEAKER_03]: They're going to start printing. [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, that's huge.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: But I mean, you know, look, he's gone around all the people in places like this and talk to people, like regular people. [SPEAKER_05]: I'm glad that people like Ali Velshey, I think, is he going to be on Ali Velshey show? [SPEAKER_05]: Was it this weekend? [SPEAKER_05]: Was it last weekend? [SPEAKER_03]: He was already on this past weekend. [SPEAKER_05]: This is past weekend.

[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, but look, I mean, and, you know, Ali's pretty good. [SPEAKER_05]: We'll see if we can get Ali here to the bar, but the idea is more of the mainstream should have been picking up on this, but it mainstream media was, if they had their heads where they should be, they wouldn't be in the problems they are. [SPEAKER_05]: So yeah.

[SPEAKER_05]: Tom, by the way, also on Facebook, he said he loved the show again last night, and he loves the variety of guests, and he also was praising John's book. [SPEAKER_05]: He says he's on the second time around reading that. [SPEAKER_05]: Wow. [SPEAKER_05]: Go Tom. [SPEAKER_05]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_05]: So Tom, yay for you, man. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm in the middle of like four books, so it's like...

[SPEAKER_05]: well in between between you know what we do here and then of course you know you have you know a whole bunch of shows on Tuesday and then of course you know you do Bob show which by the way Bob Cesco will be in a little bit later tonight y'all so you know we he's he got too busy doing track politics last week but we will talk with him about that he is back in the bar tonight we do have some more news on tap because well that's just kind of [SPEAKER_05]: the day goes.

[SPEAKER_05]: The Republican shutdown is continuing. [SPEAKER_05]: And yes, it is, it is the Republican shutdown. [SPEAKER_05]: And we can call it the Republican shutdown because it is what it is. [SPEAKER_05]: Look, the Senate failed in their sixth vote today to pass the Democratic plan to end the shutdown. [SPEAKER_05]: And then there was this thing. [SPEAKER_05]: So we didn't get the audio for you guys today because we mentioned.

[SPEAKER_05]: that tiny Johnson crashed the the media availability of senators calia gay ago they they were doing a little press availability and if you set your microphone right so you don't necessarily get the the the echo you can you can with software and hardware you can kind of make it all the better whatever [SPEAKER_05]: I'm aware that killing a guy who will probably doing it a little bit to poke a little bit. [SPEAKER_05]: Of course. [SPEAKER_05]: At Johnson. [SPEAKER_05]: Which look.

[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, the fact of the matter is, how Democrats most of them are here here in the decent area of the bar? [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_03]: I need to go to work. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: They're like any time you feel froggy come on by, we will pick up the ball and go and run with it. [SPEAKER_05]: I got this. [SPEAKER_05]: leader Jeffrey today. [SPEAKER_05]: He was doing a press availability in the capital. [SPEAKER_05]: Why?

[SPEAKER_05]: Because Democrats are at work. [SPEAKER_01]: Democrats were here last week. [SPEAKER_01]: House Democrats are here this week. [SPEAKER_01]: House Democrats will be here next week. [SPEAKER_01]: House Republicans are on vacation right now. [SPEAKER_01]: That's extraordinary. [SPEAKER_01]: Yep. [SPEAKER_01]: They cancel votes last week. [SPEAKER_01]: House Republicans have canceled votes this week. [SPEAKER_01]: We haven't [SPEAKER_01]: since September 19th is damn here month.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And on that day, Republicans got out of town before sundown, never to be seen again. [SPEAKER_01]: As we. [SPEAKER_01]: approached the government shutdown and are now in day eight of the Trump Republicans shutdown and these extremists don't even want to show up to work. [SPEAKER_05]: Yep, exactly. [SPEAKER_05]: I keep just exactly. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I like that they're starting to it's called the Trump Republican shutdown.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Don't just blame Donald. [SPEAKER_03]: It's part of this. [SPEAKER_05]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: But we got to blame everybody else because again, as we've been saying all week and last week, they could pass the CR without [SPEAKER_05]: I want to freak you out, Judi. [SPEAKER_05]: I don't want to, you know, we've been freaked out a little bit by some of these, you know, rare occurrences of people that we don't normally agree with.

[SPEAKER_05]: But Marjorie Taylor Greene, I didn't get the clip I missed it, but I don't want to hear her voice. [SPEAKER_05]: It's okay, if it's okay, if the thing is is that if you didn't know it was her, you wouldn't have known it was her. [SPEAKER_05]: Right. [SPEAKER_05]: First up, when I heard it, I think I heard it first on ABC or something, they're streaming news thing. [SPEAKER_05]: and she didn't it didn't sound like her. [SPEAKER_05]: She was measured.

[SPEAKER_05]: She was calm and she was saying, look, my constituents want to have the ACA sports. [SPEAKER_05]: My adult kids, their insurance is going to go up by hundreds of thousands. [SPEAKER_05]: We need to tackle this problem and the kind of what she said. [SPEAKER_05]: She was talking about the November 1st thing that the open enrollment starts in the November 1st.

[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, she sounded [SPEAKER_05]: just normal and sane, and it's, and of course, I mean, you know, look, yes to the because of the fact that she is such a, normally she's so loud and so abrasive that when she goes to sane, people go, what? [SPEAKER_03]: What? [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I'm glad that she's there, but by the other token is like, oh, it only took her children having an issue, a not just her constituents. [SPEAKER_05]: What have we said about the modern Republican motto?

[SPEAKER_05]: What is the modern Republican motto? [SPEAKER_03]: I got mine. [SPEAKER_05]: Got mine. [SPEAKER_05]: F U. But if they don't have theirs, that's when they care. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_05]: But it's when they don't have theirs. [SPEAKER_05]: In this case, it's her kids that are going to be affected by it. [SPEAKER_05]: So now she cares. [SPEAKER_05]: Whatever. [SPEAKER_03]: I'll take a member. [SPEAKER_05]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_05]: We will take our allies wherever we can get them in. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, thank you. [SPEAKER_05]: So here's another one. [SPEAKER_05]: I saw this earlier today. [SPEAKER_05]: I have this on my computer over here. [SPEAKER_05]: Kevin Kylie. [SPEAKER_05]: He's one of those Republicans that you guys are going to kick out with the redistricting out in California because well, he's a Republican and the Republicans in Texas wanted to play that game.

[SPEAKER_05]: But he was responding today. [SPEAKER_05]: So Jake Sherman from Punchball News. [SPEAKER_05]: put on social media. [SPEAKER_05]: He said uh... when asked if he'll bring the house back next week tiny johnson said we've already done our job [SPEAKER_05]: And Republican Kevin Kylie responded, no, what the House has done is passed a seven week continuing resolution.

[SPEAKER_05]: The entire reason a continued resolution is necessary is that Congress has not done its job in passing a timely budget. [SPEAKER_05]: The speaker shouldn't even think about canceling session for a third straight week. [SPEAKER_05]: And I got to say, and this is rare, Kevin Kylie is right. [SPEAKER_03]: He is right. [SPEAKER_03]: And it's weird.

[SPEAKER_05]: It's very weird when you have Marjorie Taylor Greene and Kevin Kiley saying, but here's the thing is that that shows that Republicans are in fact in disarray. [SPEAKER_05]: There is there there's something maybe you guys unnecessarily realize this, but the the media villagers, the DC New York mainstream media villagers here for years, they always go Democrats and disarray.

[SPEAKER_05]: Democrats are in a ray Democrats are very much in a ray Democrats are in step Democrats are [SPEAKER_05]: And Republicans are in disarray and typically the folks that are here, uh, that are in the village, the media village, even when Republicans are not in array, when they are in disarray in the past, they're like, no, we don't, we don't acknowledge that, no, right, they never do, but they're actually starting to acknowledge at this time.

[SPEAKER_05]: which Jodie Crossers or fingers on that. [SPEAKER_05]: Look, because of the fact, it is when it's that bad that the people who never reported are actually finally starting to report it, that means that behind the scenes, it's even worse.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: When you're getting members of Congress on the Republican side, coming out publicly and saying what's actually going on, whether it's in front of cameras or whether it's on social media like that, [SPEAKER_05]: that doesn't happen all the time. [SPEAKER_05]: So it's kind of, it's, it's where you go. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, this is, this is getting real for these folks. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: How many airports stand? [SPEAKER_05]: What is it?

[SPEAKER_05]: Like, eight, ten, twelve, and like that? [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, and those are the major ones. [SPEAKER_05]: That's not even all the small ones that are that are host over by this, and that doesn't even include all the other reasons that things are getting screwed over by this shutdown. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm just glad I'm not flying right now. [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, yeah.

[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, you know, we'd make it hard to be in the bar, but [SPEAKER_03]: I know I know that dad jokes are about that but I mean seriously you know Bella just flew last weekend so she got home safely and then and Stephanie's sister flew again prior to this so she flew home safely because it had started yet. [SPEAKER_05]: Look I want everybody to be flying to you. [SPEAKER_05]: I want everybody who is working to be paid.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah look and and they will be that's [SPEAKER_05]: mainstream media as we said has failed a lot. [SPEAKER_05]: That's one of the things they keep failing at. [SPEAKER_05]: They're like, well, maybe there is absolutely nothing. [SPEAKER_05]: Let me get this straight for you folks who don't understand. [SPEAKER_05]: There is literally the 2019 law that Donald Trump himself signed was put into effect by Democrats and a few Republicans.

[SPEAKER_05]: because Donald Trump threatened to make sure that they didn't get back pay last time when he kept the government closed. [SPEAKER_05]: He and Republicans kept the government closed for almost a month and 2018. [SPEAKER_03]: And he signed that into law. [SPEAKER_03]: It's not like Joe Biden signed it as a law or Obama did. [SPEAKER_03]: He did. [SPEAKER_05]: Right, right, exactly. [SPEAKER_05]: This is a law that Donald Trump himself signed.

[SPEAKER_05]: So, and it's, and it's, there's no wiggle room. [SPEAKER_05]: It's a show. [SPEAKER_05]: It's a short statement that says shell, which means you do it, and you don't argue about it. [SPEAKER_05]: But yet some of the media is like, but if we say that, then they'll be mad at us.

[SPEAKER_05]: Your job is to do your job, and I realize that John Fugle, saying to us last night, as he keeps reminding us, there's the media and there's journalism, but that's one of the reasons why I still say there needs to be industry standards because the two need to be the same thing. [SPEAKER_03]: I agree.

[SPEAKER_05]: If you want to do media, go out to California, go to New York, their broadways call in there, the thing is that a lot of the people who do news media that way or do infotainments kind of like what we do except they don't do it as well. [SPEAKER_05]: They know that they could never actually make it an entertainment.

[SPEAKER_05]: And that's why they that that's why they try to take what they're doing and make it that way because they really want to be an entertain that they just know they can hack it. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: So that's Anyway, posers do what posers do. [SPEAKER_05]: So Anyway, there is more information in the news on tapity. [SPEAKER_05]: You guys can check it out. [SPEAKER_05]: Republicans, by the way, here's what they consider important.

[SPEAKER_05]: Senate Republicans confirmed more than 100 Trump nominees during this shutdown.

[SPEAKER_05]: uh... you wonder what they don't find important uh... for those of you who uh... are coming us in the bar for the real areas uh... the federal air travel funds will expire this sunday of the shutdown continues so yeah so you're some of your small smaller uh... rural airports uh... that have still somehow remained open even though the shutdown is going on yeah those are going to be closed and you can thank republicans for that because that and luckily americans are realizing this

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, the polls are very, very much. [SPEAKER_05]: People are like, and the longer it goes on, the worse it is for Republicans. [SPEAKER_03]: And the more tiny Johnson says, it's their fault. [SPEAKER_03]: It's like new. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh God, so I didn't expound on that earlier. [SPEAKER_05]: So Senators, Kellyanne, Gaego, they were having this press availability, and Johnson comes out, and he basically starts picking a fight with them.

[SPEAKER_05]: While all the cameras are there, but because it's really echo way we didn't get it for you, because it would not sound good on you. [SPEAKER_05]: It's just, you know, and not good in your podcast player, either just not good. [SPEAKER_05]: But he's standing there arguing basically with Senators.

[SPEAKER_05]: If you remember, [SPEAKER_05]: Sometimes people say that sometimes people forget, and yes, this is inherited from the House of Lord Tows of Commons in England, but the Senate is considered the upper chamber, the more senior of the two. [SPEAKER_08]: Yes. [SPEAKER_05]: So you've got the leader of the smaller chamber, the smaller chamber, the smaller chamber. [SPEAKER_05]: He's what? [SPEAKER_05]: Four ten. [SPEAKER_03]: No, I think that's Steven Miller.

[SPEAKER_05]: Well, they're about work for Tiny Johnson, too. [SPEAKER_05]: When he's getting there, and he's, I'm, no, I don't know, and he's having a fight with Senator Kelly and Senator Geyago. [SPEAKER_05]: And then, one of these little punk ass Republicans from New York, Mike Lawler, I'm sure you see him. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah, yeah, who he is, yeah.

[SPEAKER_05]: I'm trying to pretend I'm a moderate, but really, I'm just a punk maga who is somewhat good at acting, which I'm like, whatever, anyway. [SPEAKER_05]: his playing Johnson's hype man is really what he did. [SPEAKER_05]: So Johnson would say something and Lawler would be like, Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: See. [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: See how we are. [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: I know. [SPEAKER_05]: It sounds it sounds funny when I do it.

[SPEAKER_05]: But the echo the echo he sounded was just bad. [SPEAKER_05]: So that's what you're going to play it. [SPEAKER_05]: But anyway, long and short, Kelly and Gallego. [SPEAKER_05]: It's clear because they kept their calm. [SPEAKER_05]: and it was clear what they wanted to do. [SPEAKER_05]: They wanted to bait tiny Johnson. [SPEAKER_05]: And of course, Mike Lawler, House Republican, comes out, waves his tiny Johnson in their face. [SPEAKER_05]: Look at my tiny Johnson.

[SPEAKER_05]: He's important. [SPEAKER_05]: He's actually not that important anyway. [SPEAKER_05]: But as I've said, Republicans wave their tiny Johnson around and Democrats just laugh. [SPEAKER_05]: And when Johnson walked away, basically, Kelly, I go, I go, I go kind of laughed because they're like, this is what we told you guys, this was going to happen.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, and and all the johnson did is came out and told lies and said things like Kevin Kylie said no you didn't do your job if we done our job, none of this would be happening. [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_05]: So Republicans have not done their job Donald Trump has not done his job.

[SPEAKER_05]: All I'm saying is you know when the elections come up, um, that is the American people hiring folks, and when somebody like Donald Trump or Tiny Johnson, or a lot of the members of Congress who are Republicans don't do their job, if somebody don't do their job, fire the ass. [SPEAKER_05]: I mean, that's just how you do it. [SPEAKER_03]: This is why don't believe in term limits. [SPEAKER_03]: We have every two years to get rid of people. [SPEAKER_05]: Let's see.

[SPEAKER_05]: Jodie is right. [SPEAKER_05]: We say that a lot because you can also get that on the t-shirt if you want at the politicsbar.com, go to the store, check it out. [SPEAKER_05]: We were talking about this a little bit earlier as we were paying the bills a little bit.

[SPEAKER_05]: You got them in the cereal boxes, maybe I had them crack jack boxes, a little octopus head thing, so you could throw on a wall or throw on a glass window and they would kind of go down, ding ding ding ding ding. [SPEAKER_05]: Just seems sad. [SPEAKER_05]: I do kind of seem sad. [SPEAKER_05]: Also, people would, they didn't really understand how to take care of them. [SPEAKER_05]: So they would get like, you know, land and dirt and then they're like, then they don't stick.

[SPEAKER_05]: And like, well, of course, because that's anyway. [SPEAKER_02]: Well, we were kids. [SPEAKER_05]: True. [SPEAKER_05]: True. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Sadly. [SPEAKER_03]: Kids can understand that stuff. [SPEAKER_05]: Well, I mean, my dad explained it to me after I was like, man, how come this doesn't work? [SPEAKER_05]: He's like, would you like to know how it works?

[SPEAKER_05]: My dad was, well, my parents, when I was probably four, I think, and they'd be like, how does this work? [SPEAKER_05]: And my dad's like, okay, here's National Geographic. [SPEAKER_05]: And here's Smithsonian magazine, and they put me in front of those, and my mom was spelling, so mom, how do you spell this? [SPEAKER_05]: She says, well, look it up, look it up. [SPEAKER_03]: I love that they say, look it up, but I don't know how to spell it, so how can I look it up?

[SPEAKER_05]: Hey, hooked on phonics, works, as I was saying. [SPEAKER_05]: Today's drink of the day though. [SPEAKER_05]: It is, um, I don't know if you call it a hook as far as that goes. [SPEAKER_05]: I mean, all I suppose we have been using it as a hook. [SPEAKER_05]: Uh, today's drink of the day does involve the the big event. [SPEAKER_05]: Well, okay, there's not really a big event for today. [SPEAKER_05]: Jody, what is the drink of the day and what is it surrounding today?

[SPEAKER_03]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: The drink of the day is called the octopus. [SPEAKER_03]: Nice. [SPEAKER_03]: And it is international octopus day. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: All right. [SPEAKER_05]: We love you, Octopus. [SPEAKER_03]: Octopus. [SPEAKER_05]: Octopus. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Actually, I looked that up. [SPEAKER_05]: I double checked. [SPEAKER_05]: Maybe Octopuses? [SPEAKER_05]: I looked in the dictionary. [SPEAKER_05]: There are three different ways.

[SPEAKER_05]: I believe that you can say octopus and mean a plural. [SPEAKER_05]: You can say Octopuses. [SPEAKER_05]: And you can say Octopie. [SPEAKER_05]: There are some Grammar Nazis out there who are like, ah, I can buy it, but whatever. [SPEAKER_05]: It's dead. [SPEAKER_05]: We've got a link to that. [SPEAKER_05]: It does happen to be in the drink of the day. [SPEAKER_03]: We did have a murder of Croes in our front yard today.

[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, they're like 40 Croes in our front yard today. [SPEAKER_05]: Did they murder your yard? [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but that's more than three as a murder. [SPEAKER_05]: Right, I know, but they also sometimes when they do that, they will pick things clean and leave our gardener. [SPEAKER_03]: God, I've known him since he was a little boy. [SPEAKER_03]: His dad used to work at our house. [SPEAKER_03]: And now he took over his dad's still with us.

[SPEAKER_03]: Thanks for the love, have I? [SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, he just stirs stuff up when he mows the lawn. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: Nice. [SPEAKER_03]: Nice. [SPEAKER_03]: I said a lot because what's going on? [SPEAKER_03]: I'm like, okay. [SPEAKER_03]: He stirred some stuff up. [SPEAKER_05]: So he so so he mows and he stirred stuff up. [SPEAKER_05]: It's almost like he's got eight arms. [SPEAKER_05]: Anyway, I know I know I know, but it is it's a it's a such a trader vix.

[SPEAKER_05]: Tiki cocktail known as the octopus. [SPEAKER_05]: There there is by the way. [SPEAKER_05]: Jody found this great story about to call the octopus. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: I was like, hey, I forgot about Paul the octopus. [SPEAKER_05]: I'm glad you put that in there. [SPEAKER_03]: No, he was sweet, he used to be able to call soccer games. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, well it comes soccer games. [SPEAKER_05]: I think he called like 86% right or something like that.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, something like that. [SPEAKER_03]: Better than, you know, bookies. [SPEAKER_03]: Ponsotani, Paul or whatever his name is. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, he'll definitely better than Ponsotani Phil. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, definitely. [SPEAKER_03]: But no, I mean, he died in two and a half years [SPEAKER_05]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: And if you haven't seen the octopus teacher movie the octopus to see it.

[SPEAKER_03]: It's on Netflix kids and it will you will cry if you have any sort of heart, but octopus are very very smart animal there. [SPEAKER_05]: They are very smart. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, see and and sometimes they even trust human beings, which yes, in that particular movie. [SPEAKER_03]: It's it's it's it's [SPEAKER_05]: So that octopus might enjoy at least the spirit.

[SPEAKER_05]: I'm sure they wouldn't enjoy because they like water that's very specific, but they would at least enjoy the spirit of us toasting to them with this. [SPEAKER_03]: I think so. [SPEAKER_03]: It's a pretty drink too. [SPEAKER_05]: Cool. [SPEAKER_05]: So what is in an octopus cocktail? [SPEAKER_03]: All right, you need a Collins or high ball glass. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: A little bit of ice. [SPEAKER_05]: Got it. [SPEAKER_03]: One and a half ounces of orange juice.

[SPEAKER_05]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: One and a half ounces of passion fruit nectar or syrup. [SPEAKER_03]: I would go with the nectar. [SPEAKER_03]: That's amazing.

[SPEAKER_03]: got it you want a little bit a less sweet maybe less sweet that's a me thing though nectar if you want less sweet syrup if you want it more sweet exactly all right now here's the stuff you can light on fire one and a half ounces of one fifty one proof from so we all know what that is but party uh yeah that's that's that's the high proof from folks that's like i sent you that picture that they

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, exactly like like the margarine that you had the last weekend that was on fire exactly They put a little bit of a cardee and a little lemon thing and they light it on fire One and a half ounces of club soda a dash of angostura. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm getting so much better at that You're great at that now. [SPEAKER_05]: I love that.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah And you garnish it with an orange slice or a marriage you know cherry that's up to you cool That's we we have a picture above in there. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I'm gonna show you what [SPEAKER_05]: exactly. [SPEAKER_05]: All right, so how do you put them together for a great octopus cocktail? [SPEAKER_03]: Okay, what you do is you add the orange juice, the passion fruit nectar or syrup, and run into the Collins glass. [SPEAKER_03]: It's a very simple drink to make.

[SPEAKER_03]: You fill it. [SPEAKER_03]: It's already filled with ice, and you stir gently and as I told you yesterday, start with the booze. [SPEAKER_03]: And then build up. [SPEAKER_05]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: And then you top it with the club soda and stir gently again to combine and then you garnish with the orange slice and the marriage you know cherry. [SPEAKER_05]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_05]: Sounds good sounds like a great drink.

[SPEAKER_05]: And remember to do not try to match with with an octopus. [SPEAKER_03]: Never they're so smart. [SPEAKER_05]: Especially one of those giant ones, they're like 30 feet, because they'll just like, you know, grab you and smack you against the fact that you get it. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: There have been octopuses, octopite, that have crawled out of aquariums to go free. [SPEAKER_05]: Get free. [SPEAKER_05]: When they get bored, they're very intelligent.

[SPEAKER_05]: And I'm like, yeah, I've done everything in here. [SPEAKER_05]: I'm gonna go find out what's outside. [SPEAKER_03]: And they're super smart and they'll get out and luckily people do find them and put them back in the water because they need paint. [SPEAKER_05]: Exactly, but if you guys missed any part of the drink of the day, you know what to do. [SPEAKER_05]: Just go subscribe to the politics bar dot com. [SPEAKER_05]: All right, more of the news on tap for the day.

[SPEAKER_05]: Uh, the incompetence of this Trump regime, the half-ashism is just off the chain. [SPEAKER_05]: So James call me today pleaded guilty, or probably to pardon me not guilty. [SPEAKER_05]: To the charges sought by Trump, the trial is set for January 5th. [SPEAKER_05]: It's, we've talked about it before it's ridiculous. [SPEAKER_05]: It is. [SPEAKER_11]: It's so stupid. [SPEAKER_05]: But I think I think he is, I think he's still going to push for the trial.

[SPEAKER_05]: I don't think he's going to allow them to do the, I think he wants the trial. [SPEAKER_05]: I think coming wants the trial because he wants to kick Trump's ass in court with his people there. [SPEAKER_03]: But I thought his lawyers were going to go with vindictive or political. [SPEAKER_05]: I'm sure that they are doing that because of their ways or bad lawyers.

[SPEAKER_05]: right exactly but that doesn't necessarily mean that he wants them to do that or that they'll they'll they you can you can do things on law like that where you you basically just check a box you're like yes we're officially putting this in and then they're like do you really want it like now we're actually they have the trial so I mean you know it's what I agree with what your sentiment is but it should be thrown out [SPEAKER_05]: true.

[SPEAKER_05]: So, well, let's see how that goes. [SPEAKER_05]: Another blow to Trump legally. [SPEAKER_05]: Comi's legal team, if it goes to trial, may call up former special counsel John Durham as part of his defense. [SPEAKER_02]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, the funny thing is to, there's another story that is in our department of shams and injustice from Trump.

[SPEAKER_05]: Prosecutors have already concluded that a central witness to their claims is actually undermining their claims against [SPEAKER_05]: They're they're not exactly the most intelligent folks. [SPEAKER_05]: We got a couple of stories that covering that, um, ridiculous, uh, what do you want to call it yesterday, uh, show trial, show, show hearing with Pam Bondi, um, her grievances.

[SPEAKER_05]: did you see oh my god she wasn't even honest about how she was attacking the senators she had prescripted responses which is why if you saw the hearing early if you go on see span and I do recommend some of you go on see span but if you go on see span [SPEAKER_05]: and you actually watched the hearing early, she was, oh, she sounded smart, but she kept looking through the documents that were sitting there.

[SPEAKER_05]: And later on, she just kind of stopped answering and she stopped answering because she ran out of pre-canned responses. [SPEAKER_05]: And if you remember, yesterday, Senator Schiff called her on her pre-canned responses. [SPEAKER_03]: He did. [SPEAKER_03]: He was great. [SPEAKER_03]: He was like, and you didn't answer. [SPEAKER_05]: And you, he's just, well, there were some journalists that got multiple pictures of her turning pages.

[SPEAKER_05]: And they literally were able to be like, look, this is, this is what she said then. [SPEAKER_05]: And this is what she wrote here. [SPEAKER_05]: What a jackass. [SPEAKER_03]: What a jet. [UNKNOWN]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Not bright. [SPEAKER_05]: No, no, she is definitely not the bride's bulb in the box. [SPEAKER_05]: There is more other incompetent Trump governing. [SPEAKER_05]: RFK's acting CDC director has endorsed Trump's call to split up the MMR vaccine.

[SPEAKER_05]: And six former surgeons general, including Trump's former surgeon general, came out against that. [SPEAKER_05]: And against all the other things he said. [SPEAKER_05]: And said that JFK or RFK is junior is, yeah, an idiot, basically.

[SPEAKER_03]: When I first heard about all these vaccines going to children at a very young age, I was like, wait, that seems bad, but a friend of mine said, no, no, no, no, no, children, especially if they're breastfed by the way and do that women if you can do it because it's healthier for you and the child. [SPEAKER_05]: Or pump, and then, you know, don't think of that. [SPEAKER_03]: How would ever you need to do it because it's healthier for the child and for you.

[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just right. [SPEAKER_03]: Everybody's healthier that way. [SPEAKER_03]: And so my friend, I will call him Steve, because that's what you used to call him on my show. [SPEAKER_03]: He said, no, no, no, children. [SPEAKER_03]: Their immunity is already to go. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: So when there are six months old, two years old, five years old, they can handle it. [SPEAKER_03]: better than adults by the way.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yes, yes, they are as as is the case with most younger beings you're more flexible than when you get older. [SPEAKER_03]: Your your immunities are ready for it and your body is ready for it. [SPEAKER_03]: So I was against it. [SPEAKER_03]: Now I'm completely excited. [SPEAKER_03]: I got my MMR booster.

[SPEAKER_05]: But here's the thing, so these companies, these giant pharma companies, look, we don't always like the pharma companies, and I will admit that, but the scientists have worked hard over the years to make sure that these pharma companies are putting in the vaccines and getting them grouped like the MMR, it's for measles, mumps, and rebella, and now I have one to go to chickenpox with that as well, I believe.

[SPEAKER_05]: And the reason why they put them together is so that the kids actually have less vaccines. [SPEAKER_05]: Yes. [SPEAKER_05]: No, RFK Junior wants your kids to actually have individual, but here's the thing, the drug manufacturers. [SPEAKER_05]: They've been making this. [SPEAKER_05]: The whole rest of the world uses the MMR. [SPEAKER_05]: I believe it's called MMR A. It's the one with Measled Muster Bella and Chickabox. [SPEAKER_05]: That's become the world standard.

[SPEAKER_05]: What R.K. [SPEAKER_05]: Jr. [SPEAKER_05]: is saying is, no, no, no, no, big drug companies that handle everybody in the world. [SPEAKER_05]: You need to make an exception for us and change the way you manufacturing it so that, you know, look, we want the burger bun on one plate, we want the lettuce and tomato on another plate, we want the burger itself on another plate, and they're all like, they ain't gonna do it.

[SPEAKER_05]: So, I... [SPEAKER_05]: Yes, we have idiots in charge right now. [SPEAKER_05]: We wish it'd be a lesson, make sure everybody you know who is going to vote smart, does so. [SPEAKER_05]: And if you can vote early, I got to do it. [SPEAKER_03]: I did. [SPEAKER_05]: Woohoo! [SPEAKER_05]: Jodie is right. [SPEAKER_05]: For voting early, and hopefully you guys are too. [SPEAKER_05]: Look, we're gonna have more news on tap.

[SPEAKER_05]: We are a little bit loopy because, you know, some of the some of the decisions are just so dumb that we have talked about today.

[SPEAKER_05]: And some of the, some of the news, the Trump attacking and threatening the mayor of Chicago and governor of Illinois and it just, he's dumb as hell. [SPEAKER_05]: So I want to jump down to the entertainment section today because I was I was really glad to see you you heard was it last night late I believe that we saw that it was a dolly part in the sister who put her baby sister. [SPEAKER_06]: No. [SPEAKER_06]: I'm working hard here. [SPEAKER_06]: That's right. [SPEAKER_06]: Anyway, I wanted to put everybody's mind at ease. [SPEAKER_06]: Those everything seemed to be real concern which I appreciate and I appreciate your prayers because I'm a person of faith. [SPEAKER_06]: I can always use the prayers for anything and everything. [SPEAKER_06]: But I want you to know that I'm okay. [SPEAKER_06]: Woohoo! [SPEAKER_06]: That's all the matters. [SPEAKER_03]: Don't scare us.

[SPEAKER_03]: It's dolly. [SPEAKER_03]: Put her a bubble wrap already. [SPEAKER_03]: So airhole so she can breathe. [SPEAKER_05]: She had to do a proof of love. [SPEAKER_05]: That's funny. [SPEAKER_05]: That's funny. [SPEAKER_05]: That she had to do proof of life thing. [SPEAKER_05]: Because her sister basic was like, just just pray for pray for dolly. [SPEAKER_03]: And then her sister came out this morning. [SPEAKER_03]: I didn't mean to scare anybody. [SPEAKER_03]: Girl, you scared the planet.

[SPEAKER_05]: Literally like everybody on the planet is like are you kidding me? [SPEAKER_03]: I just don't even know what like what I woke up this morning at 2.30 or whatever. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh god 30 and and I was like wait what's going on with dolly part and what is happening you know Right understandable, but then you're like she's fine You're mom did a thing with her back in the day.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, darling Carol National 1979 [SPEAKER_05]: awesome also though you told me this little anecdote about it which everybody here should hear this because we all think that Carol is is fantastic and her humor is fantastic but this just shows you it's not just for show this is actually Carol's humor like actually how she is so so so she there's a photo from that special from 1979 where my mom and Ms. [SPEAKER_03]: Parton are back to back

[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, that makes sense and they're standing like in the middle of the photo back in the middle of the back to back so my mom is on the left Wait, let me think yeah, she's if you're looking at the picture. [SPEAKER_03]: She's on the left and dolly is on the right and so she tells it to the right Because dolly's boobies are a lot bigger than my mom's little top heavy there. [SPEAKER_03]: I get it and so people have come to my mom's house and tried to straighten it.

[SPEAKER_03]: She goes nope [SPEAKER_03]: And just get it back to where I'm on the wall. [SPEAKER_05]: See, purposely, has it tilted? [SPEAKER_03]: It's tilted on the wall. [SPEAKER_03]: It works that because no, that's on purpose. [SPEAKER_03]: Thank you very much. [SPEAKER_05]: Because it's funny. [SPEAKER_05]: Well, we love you, Carol. [SPEAKER_05]: That is hilarious. [SPEAKER_05]: See, your mom is awesome. [SPEAKER_03]: She is. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, and I beat her, we're all today.

[SPEAKER_05]: No, I did. [SPEAKER_05]: You beat her mom at work. [SPEAKER_03]: I know I got it in two. [SPEAKER_03]: And only one letter, right, when I started. [SPEAKER_05]: OK, OK, but did you beat Jimmy Kimmel? [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_03]: Did you get it in one? [SPEAKER_05]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_05]: I didn't see. [SPEAKER_05]: I don't mean to you. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't mean to you. [SPEAKER_05]: I don't mean to you. [SPEAKER_05]: I don't mean to you.

[SPEAKER_05]: I don't mean to you. [SPEAKER_05]: I don't mean to you. [SPEAKER_05]: I don't mean to you. [SPEAKER_05]: I don't mean to you. [SPEAKER_05]: I don't mean to you. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't mean to you. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't mean to you. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't mean to you. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't mean to you. [UNKNOWN]: I don't mean to you.

[SPEAKER_13]: I don't mean to you. [SPEAKER_05]: I don't mean to you. [SPEAKER_05]: I don't mean to you [SPEAKER_05]: We are glad you guys are hanging out with us here at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_05]: It is a Wednesday night. [SPEAKER_05]: There is some other good news on tap that is in the entertainment section.

[SPEAKER_05]: Mary J. Blies is going to have a film kind of like Taylor just did. [SPEAKER_05]: Madison Square Garden show that she did a while back. [SPEAKER_05]: Mary J is releasing that to theaters fairly soon. [SPEAKER_05]: You can check out the story in the news on tap the entertainment section.

[SPEAKER_05]: uh... also twenty twenty five rock and roll hall of fame performers and presenters list has been released some good names in there you did you see did you check out who's all i'm at list i did not not not since i was getting crowned today [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: That's right. [SPEAKER_05]: That's right. [SPEAKER_05]: Do you have dental work earlier today? [SPEAKER_05]: So you know, it happens, you know, everybody's got to do these kinds of things.

[SPEAKER_03]: And my dentist wants the same university that I did. [SPEAKER_03]: So that was weird to find out. [SPEAKER_03]: That's kind of cool. [SPEAKER_05]: That's kind of cool. [SPEAKER_05]: No, it's kind of neat. [SPEAKER_05]: You just, I mean, were you there at the same time? [SPEAKER_03]: No, he's way younger than I am. [SPEAKER_05]: Okay, well, you know, if you'd been there at the same time and didn't know, I would've been like dance. [SPEAKER_03]: No, I probably would've known him.

[SPEAKER_03]: Had we gone to school together. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm sure I would. [SPEAKER_05]: That's what I'm saying. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: But the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony performers, presenters are including Elton John. [SPEAKER_05]: Nice. [SPEAKER_05]: Missy Elliott. [SPEAKER_05]: David Letterman, Olivia Rodrigo, Doja Cat, and Iggy Pop. [SPEAKER_05]: Wow. [SPEAKER_05]: Wow. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, they're going across the board.

[SPEAKER_03]: So it's like a good show, much better than the Kennedy Center this year. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, yeah, the Kennedy Center is what can I say in our dishonors? [SPEAKER_03]: Usually, um, airs in like December like late November early December there should be shooting it like now Maybe I don't know. [SPEAKER_05]: Uh, you know, they're it I'm sure they're gonna have to find seat fillers for it this year because they're gonna have to pay them [SPEAKER_05]: Uh-huh.

[SPEAKER_05]: Ain't nobody want to come to that. [SPEAKER_03]: Ain't nobody want to see that.

[SPEAKER_05]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,

[SPEAKER_05]: The Phoenix Mercury also mercury in aces there there that play is going on right now this evening a lot of sports staff going on Something else was a little bit odd the NCAA is allowing athletes now to bet on pro sports major It's on their games [SPEAKER_05]: Well, I mean, they're in college. [SPEAKER_05]: So they're allowing college athletes to bet on pro sports.

[SPEAKER_05]: I still don't agree with that because if you're in college, I mean, do you have money when you're in college? [SPEAKER_05]: Well, okay, some of these athletes. [SPEAKER_05]: What you should not be betting your money that way because you're going to be betting all of these. [SPEAKER_03]: Hi, Lottery tickets. [SPEAKER_03]: It's a bet. [SPEAKER_05]: Right, but it's a small bet.

[SPEAKER_05]: It's not like some, you know, especially to me, to me, it feels like when the credit card companies used to get on college campuses and they would be like, here's the credit card. [SPEAKER_05]: It's no interest for like the first four months, the minute 500% interest to work in a pound you.

[SPEAKER_05]: And you're just like, yes, then they stop some of that stuff too, but it's just that kind of thing feels predatory, but I guess the NCAA, maybe they got a cut of it, I don't know, that works. [SPEAKER_05]: We got the story that's there in the news on tap. [SPEAKER_05]: Look who just arrived, parked his bike and hanging out here. [SPEAKER_05]: It's the one and only Bob Sesska. [SPEAKER_05]: Woo! [SPEAKER_05]: There. [SPEAKER_05]: Hello.

[SPEAKER_05]: And, of course, he is, indeed, wearing the shirt of the 2013 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame except he's his russ shirt. [SPEAKER_05]: One of, uh, believe, 24 or 30 russ shirts you have. [SPEAKER_05]: I'm not sure how to say that. [SPEAKER_04]: That's exactly right. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm just up there, start off with my records. [SPEAKER_03]: Lonnie was like, I only listened to the Tom Sawyer record. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm like, dude.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, my God. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, for starters, that's where you start with rush. [SPEAKER_04]: Start with Tom Sawyer and then go backwards. [SPEAKER_04]: Outwards from there. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you go backwards. [SPEAKER_04]: You go forwards. [SPEAKER_04]: I love, I'm an, I'm an 80s guy. [SPEAKER_04]: I love 80s rush. [SPEAKER_04]: I love those. [SPEAKER_03]: Hemisphere's, 21-12, don't get me started.

[SPEAKER_04]: All those albums that write up here, so they're not coming to the DC area of the bar though. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm sorry about the two shows here That's the same again. [SPEAKER_03]: I know. [SPEAKER_05]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_05]: So many of you put balloons. [SPEAKER_05]: Yes, you guys [SPEAKER_05]: People just walk by with balloons. [SPEAKER_05]: I get it. [SPEAKER_05]: That's fine. [SPEAKER_05]: You're in the bar, but you're not putting them in our face. [SPEAKER_05]: Thank you.

[SPEAKER_05]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_04]: But I'm happy to add that Rush has added more dates to their. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: We've got this right. [SPEAKER_05]: You've got that day too, exactly. [SPEAKER_05]: So, which that's what I said. [SPEAKER_05]: There, you know, maybe in theory, I'm not sure when the date is, but in theory, you know, maybe we all go out and go see them at Jody's place. [SPEAKER_05]: Just. [SPEAKER_05]: That would be cool.

[SPEAKER_04]: There's that. [SPEAKER_04]: I think I'm going to try for tickets for Cleveland. [SPEAKER_04]: It's close. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to go for the Cleveland tickets. [SPEAKER_04]: I want to meet up with my friend Donna Helper, who was the radio DJ, who first played Russia's song working now.

[SPEAKER_05]: on WMMS and I put out a post on that and and I looped you in on it and then Donna was like I'll have more on that later and I was just like no I didn't I didn't expect her to because you know she follows me and I didn't expect her to to you know it's Donna thank you by the way we know she's somewhere here in the bar listening to us so it was it was one of those words like thank you Donna so yeah she's gonna go on it is not the new drama that they hired is amazing.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, on a good Nile she's like incredible good yeah, and of course everyone's joking now Well, they'll finally be a woman at a rush concert [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, that's right now that is wrong. [SPEAKER_04]: I didn't make up that joke. [SPEAKER_04]: That's the joke. [SPEAKER_04]: It's going around. [SPEAKER_05]: It's not a joke, I mean. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, yeah, but at the same time, I'm like, no, there are women who like Russia. [SPEAKER_03]: I'd like Russians like anyone, so.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, exactly. [SPEAKER_05]: This is not an in-sell convention. [SPEAKER_05]: This is good rock and roll music. [SPEAKER_05]: There's a complete difference, you know.

[SPEAKER_04]: I had so many women making do a spit-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick- [SPEAKER_03]: different. [SPEAKER_05]: I'm sorry.

[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I refer to him as limbaugh. [SPEAKER_04]: Because no, I don't want to use people. [SPEAKER_04]: He's limpa. [SPEAKER_04]: When I say rush, especially on social media, talking about the band, which is like a gazillion times better than the guy he's good, limpa is bad. [SPEAKER_05]: This makes sense. [SPEAKER_05]: For example, governing is good. [SPEAKER_05]: Republicans are bad.

[SPEAKER_04]: These are, and rush existed by that name long before Rush Limbaugh. [SPEAKER_13]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I believe he started his radio career as Rusty. [SPEAKER_04]: Rusty. [SPEAKER_04]: That's right. [SPEAKER_04]: Rusty limba. [SPEAKER_04]: Not a bad DJ terrible terrible human being. [SPEAKER_05]: I'll check true. [SPEAKER_05]: Bob Cesska is right. [SPEAKER_05]: Which is awesome. [SPEAKER_05]: We always love that.

[SPEAKER_05]: When he's right and we also love the fact when he's here, he will talk to us about all the political things going on. [SPEAKER_05]: Obviously, my air came at stuff. [SPEAKER_05]: Yes. [SPEAKER_05]: We will talk a little bit about

[SPEAKER_05]: track politics because you know I mean that's one of the things the Bob does which is fantastic look it is a Wednesday night bobs here jodies here I'm here you're here maybe you missed it the top of the hour so if you gotta do your thing look you know where it is down the hall left writer center look you aim to please we aim to please you aim to please look remember one of these days I will well you know it would help if I just get it on the shirt right

[SPEAKER_05]: You can get that at the politicsbar.com. [SPEAKER_05]: We'll talk about that in more with Bob. [SPEAKER_05]: Come back here. [SPEAKER_11]: We'll be right back after we pay some bills at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_05]: Wednesday night at politics bar and you know what that means. [SPEAKER_05]: It is time once again the idea of a pop Bob like whoa. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah Bob Cesska's here.

[SPEAKER_05]: I know he already joined us a little bit, but you know, you got to ring him in proper because it's Bob You know after all [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, for a second there, I thought everything that we did on the previous segment was all off the air. [SPEAKER_04]: No, wasn't a good thing. [SPEAKER_04]: Hang on, what's going on? [SPEAKER_04]: No, no, no, you were. [SPEAKER_03]: You came in early because we were running late, so that's what was happening now.

[SPEAKER_05]: But I just wanted to make sure that we properly brought you in, because, you know, I mean, you're one of the only people that we have kind of a sound effect. [SPEAKER_05]: That's true. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: It's fantastic. [SPEAKER_05]: Plus great people. [SPEAKER_05]: Great people happen to know you. [SPEAKER_05]: We were talking about this earlier, Jody and I last night.

[SPEAKER_05]: You may know this because I know a Sherry Jacobus posted this on social media that she and I and Bruce Barlin and Bruce wife and Nancy, we all had dinner, late dinner and drinks and things. [SPEAKER_05]: Some good wine. [SPEAKER_05]: Damn, some good wine. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you, Sherry.

[SPEAKER_05]: And so we were talking and and Cherry was talking about how Kimberly had helped her out when she when she was sick when she had cancer She was, you know, trying to fight that and Kimberly helped her out a bit and so Bruce Bartlett, you know, I was like, you know, Kimberly is oh, yeah, Bob Saskat and so I used to go to lunch with this dad [SPEAKER_04]: It's incredible. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you know, and I remember my dad mentioning Bruce Bartlett.

[SPEAKER_04]: My dad worked for the Treasury Department. [SPEAKER_04]: He retired as the acting inspector general of the Treasury Department. [SPEAKER_13]: Wow. [SPEAKER_04]: Right. [SPEAKER_04]: And was up until that point, the deputy inspector general of the Treasury Department. [SPEAKER_04]: And so Bruce Bartlett was a standard at Treasury. [SPEAKER_04]: I think he was first appointed there by Ronald Reagan.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yes. [SPEAKER_04]: I think that's so it goes way back to the 80s, where they would get lunch together occasionally. [SPEAKER_04]: And so I noticed Bruce Bartlett online on social media. [SPEAKER_04]: This is maybe 10 years ago. [SPEAKER_04]: And I was like, oh, hey, yeah, Bruce. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm Bob Sesska's son, Bob Sesska. [SPEAKER_04]: I got an eye at the same name.

[SPEAKER_05]: It's kind of funny because we're talking and it's like, you know, oh, you know, because, you know, I said obviously, you know, Bobby, I know the Bob, because Bob, I knew his dad, whatever, and I was like, well, you know, because, you know, sharing mentioned Nancy mentioned that, you know, Kimberly, you know, Kimberly and Bobby, oh yeah, Kimberly Bob refrigerator and so that's how I know that, but that Bruce Bartlett listens to some other show. [SPEAKER_04]: So there you go.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, thank you for that, Jodie. [SPEAKER_05]: Hey. [SPEAKER_05]: You know what it's been hot in the entire year of fall out of this happened. [SPEAKER_05]: How do you you you were involved in the whole of the That was what seven eight years ago was a long time ago. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, okay, because of you don't know the the origin story of the refrigerator. [SPEAKER_03]: So you had said something on the show on your show on my show.

[SPEAKER_03]: And that you were refrigerator was broken or something like that. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it was like the railing on one of the shelves inside the door of the refrigerator. [SPEAKER_04]: It was a snap to broke. [SPEAKER_04]: And so I went to a popular retail website, which I will not name. [SPEAKER_13]: Right. [SPEAKER_04]: And I was able to find amazingly. [SPEAKER_04]: I was able to find a replacement part, ordered it was there in the next day installed everything's fine.

[SPEAKER_04]: Great. [SPEAKER_04]: And Jodi asked me, how did you break it? [SPEAKER_03]: And I said, what is having sex with Kimberly? [SPEAKER_03]: I was like, yes, of course. [SPEAKER_04]: That's what we were doing. [SPEAKER_04]: Then Stephanie Miller heard that on the show. [SPEAKER_04]: And I was done for years and years and years. [SPEAKER_04]: It's been the running gag.

[SPEAKER_04]: And the funny thing about that is, if you've ever met me and Kimberly in person, you will know that we are above average in height. [SPEAKER_04]: So there is no way you will fit. [SPEAKER_05]: Just because it's a walk-in refrigerator, I'm just saying, I don't know how you guys find apartments that are large enough. [SPEAKER_04]: That's the secret. [SPEAKER_04]: That's the secret. [SPEAKER_04]: The entire apartment is a refrigerator.

[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I know that you're really like the cooler than you do, so. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, because post-menopausal, yeah, so she likes to keep the temperatures chilly. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you know what? [SPEAKER_05]: I don't know if you know what. [SPEAKER_04]: The added benefit Sean, it gives the outrage fresh. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh my god, Bob the outrage has been so fresh because of all the stupidity going on.

[SPEAKER_05]: Oh my god, so so you saw I'm sure earlier today that Donnie threatened the mayor of Chicago and The governor of Illinois on social media like it's some kind of like junior high school taunt or something. [SPEAKER_05]: I'm like what the hell dude? [SPEAKER_05]: Literally threatened some. [SPEAKER_05]: I don't know if you heard this bit of it.

[SPEAKER_05]: This this was pretty good, so [SPEAKER_05]: Jacob Soberoff from MSNBC was interviewing Pritzker and Pritzker called out Donald Trump. [SPEAKER_05]: Here, I've got this an AVR here. [SPEAKER_07]: Let's start with the idea that this is a convicted felon. [SPEAKER_07]: I mean, think about that. [SPEAKER_07]: Who is threatening to jail me?

[SPEAKER_07]: I got to say this guy's unhinged, he's insecure, he's a want to be dictator, and there's one thing I really want to say to Donald Trump, if you come for my people, you come through me, so come and get me. [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_13]: Wow. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: And of course it's good to call it right at the camera what he did that. [SPEAKER_05]: Here's a little right at the camera. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, he's calling Donald's bluff.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yep. [SPEAKER_04]: Yes. [SPEAKER_04]: But, and so there's this, this is just, anti-threats coming from Donald's, but there's no way that he would ever prosecute JB Pritzker for God's sake. [SPEAKER_04]: No, I mean, there are going to be prosecutions. [SPEAKER_04]: Donald is going to try. [SPEAKER_04]: He's obviously trying with Jim Komey. [SPEAKER_04]: Right. [SPEAKER_04]: That is, you know what? [SPEAKER_04]: In a strange way, I'm glad it happened.

[SPEAKER_04]: Because first of all, Jim Komey is ready for the fight. [SPEAKER_04]: He's got Patrick Fitzgerald in his corner, who we all remember from the Scooter Libby investigation during George L.B. [SPEAKER_04]: Bush years. [SPEAKER_04]: Yep. [SPEAKER_04]: But what's going to happen here in January is, this thing is going to get laughed out of court. [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, relatively confident that that's going to happen.

[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think any judge is going to waste the court's time trying something that is so obviously political in nature. [SPEAKER_04]: And so that's going to go away. [SPEAKER_04]: And the result of that will be an utter embarrassment for the Trump administration. [SPEAKER_04]: And I don't think that they will try again.

[SPEAKER_05]: But what you like, what you like to see it go to court, just so that you can see Komi and his team, absolutely kick the [SPEAKER_05]: Yes, of Lindsey Halligan and you know and whoever she hires to actually try the case because she doesn't know how to try a case She actually she got a couple of DOJers from South Carolina to come up because nobody else in the eastern district of Virginia would work with her on the case Because they don't want to sell either records.

[SPEAKER_02]: All right. [SPEAKER_05]: You will literally have to go to another DOJ office because everyone Everyone in your office is like this girl's an idiot [SPEAKER_03]: She's getting ready to hire ambulance chasers to try this case. [SPEAKER_04]: A better call salt. [SPEAKER_03]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_03]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_04]: It's such, you know what, if they were capable of shame, they would be so embarrassed right now, but they're not.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's just, again, this is playing to Donald. [SPEAKER_04]: This is a performance for Donald Trump. [SPEAKER_04]: This is a performance for the MAGA disciples. [SPEAKER_04]: There's nothing that's going to come of this. [SPEAKER_04]: And going back to what you're saying about hoping that it actually goes forward, [SPEAKER_04]: Right. [SPEAKER_04]: I think Jim Komey wants their experience. [SPEAKER_05]: See, okay, that's what I was saying.

[SPEAKER_05]: That's that's where I've been, but, but I think you and Jody are on the same page on this that you guys are saying. [SPEAKER_05]: It'll probably end, but I still, I'm like, I'm just, you're rubbing my hands going, please, please, please, please, please. [SPEAKER_05]: I so want to see. [SPEAKER_05]: I want to see Donald Trump's team get their asses kicked so hard. [SPEAKER_05]: They literally fly out of the court building on their ass kind of skittings.

[SPEAKER_05]: just across the concrete sparks flying just because of the fact that they would be getting their butts kicked so hard because there's just such a joke about it. [SPEAKER_05]: And of course Jim Komi would just sit there and maybe crack tiny little bit of a smile which for him would be, you know.

[SPEAKER_05]: right and any but i'm going that's that's that's where my head is when i see this and just everybody you know looking in laughing and pointing and laughing at Donald Trump and this idiocy and pamboni and that whole pamboni don't get me started on that one whiny little baby girl i think you you guys have been doing the show i don't know if you saw this clip come down from Aaron Rupert but Donald Trump announced today that [SPEAKER_04]: We took away the freedom of speech.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_04]: Let me fix that. [SPEAKER_04]: We took the freedom of speech away. [SPEAKER_04]: What is what he said? [SPEAKER_04]: Oh my god. [SPEAKER_04]: He was talking about burning the flag. [SPEAKER_04]: And so he was saying, he was a big confused mess after that. [SPEAKER_04]: But it started out by him saying, we took the freedom of freedom of speech that Donald Trump October 8, 2025.

[SPEAKER_05]: Oh my god, there's there's there's so many clips and I love Aaron and Ace and Aaron Rupar and Ace and they're just fantastic on all the different social platforms I guess there's there's some Something or whatever. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh god.

[SPEAKER_05]: I'm seeing just just clip after clip of stupidity and and Yeah, no, no, I hadn't hadn't hadn't seen that one earlier, but it's just that the stupidity never ends with with with these idiots I mean they they are a constant [SPEAKER_05]: If that's what you want to pay attention to is is just half-assism, you know? [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it is. [SPEAKER_04]: What I really want to hear now are all of these mega-bro comedians.

[SPEAKER_04]: Some of whom performed at the Riyadh comedy party. [SPEAKER_04]: That's a way in on Donald Trump saying we took the freedom of speech away. [SPEAKER_04]: where I want to hear from Dave Chappelle. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, thank you. [SPEAKER_04]: And we won't, because what they have done is they have created a climate where we get Donald Trump. [SPEAKER_04]: This is partly their responsibility.

[SPEAKER_04]: And their hands, yeah, because they wanted to be able to blurt the R word or blurt the N word or continue to beat up trans people. [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[SPEAKER_04]: Without anyone pushing back what their goal is and what their idea of freedom of speech is the guy standing on stage and I underscore the word guy Maintly holding the microphone that's the only person who gets the freedom of speech the people in the audience don't get freedom of speech That's what that's how they feel about that and whether the audience should be picking apart their jokes or whatever That's a separate discussion, but the fact remains that the audience does have the right to say

[SPEAKER_04]: Now, I don't like the fact that you are saying the R word, every other word, or I don't like the fact that you're constantly beating up on trans people, punching down. [SPEAKER_04]: Right. [SPEAKER_04]: And that's just as permissible in a free society with the first amendment as the stand-up comic making the joke in the first act. [SPEAKER_03]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_04]: That's completely lost in the mix of this debate.

[SPEAKER_03]: Freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from consequences. [SPEAKER_05]: Bingo exactly exactly that that's that is a hundred percent correct and I They always want that they want but they want consequences for everyone else they just don't want the consequences for themselves [SPEAKER_04]: No, absolutely not. [SPEAKER_05]: They want the laws to apply to everybody, but them. [SPEAKER_05]: And I'm like, that's not how any form of government works.

[SPEAKER_05]: Because the rules have to apply to everybody. [SPEAKER_05]: Otherwise, it just doesn't work. [SPEAKER_05]: That's, that's kind of how that will thing. [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, you know, oh, yeah, and you know what? [SPEAKER_04]: The Donald Trump, I called him the Donald Trump. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, thank you guys for the Trump administration and Donald Trump at the same time, and I just went with the Donald Trump Donald Trump signed.

[SPEAKER_04]: I think it was at least one possibly two executive orders at the start of his second term back in January Right a declaring his defense of free speech and right. [SPEAKER_03]: I remember that. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and now here we are fast forward 10 months later We took the freedom of speech away [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah, this is the dumbness one almost a year ago in November of 2024.

[SPEAKER_04]: A bunch of people going, hey, we'll take the dictator as long as we have our freedom of speech. [SPEAKER_04]: When I got a dictator and no freedom of speech, at least according to the dictator. [SPEAKER_04]: Or, yeah, we'll have the dictator, but at least his economy will be so much better. [SPEAKER_04]: And here we have the dictator and the world, and we're something economy- [SPEAKER_05]: Now, yeah, exactly.

[SPEAKER_05]: No, did you see we didn't put in the news on tap, but I saw it the other day, there was a poll that came out that said like 20% of Americans, still say, well, we just can't have a woman be president. [SPEAKER_05]: Because, you know, they're just, they're too emotional. [SPEAKER_03]: So much. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, have you ever listened to Donald Trump? [SPEAKER_04]: Have you ever listened to Stephen Miller? [SPEAKER_04]: Have you ever listened to Lindsey Graham?

[SPEAKER_05]: God, although I loved, I loved AOC's comment about P. We German, or was it about Tiny Johnson Johnson Johnson Johnson? [SPEAKER_03]: We don't know who's 14. [SPEAKER_05]: I think the both are. [SPEAKER_05]: I love, you know, I love calling him Tiny Johnson Bob, and I do perfect examples today. [SPEAKER_05]: So, you've got Gallego and Kelly. [SPEAKER_05]: They decided senators, remember we've did the senators with the upper chamber.

[SPEAKER_05]: They're supposed to be the more, you know, kind of respectful in the house is a little bit kind of right. [SPEAKER_05]: And Kelly, a guy go decide to do their press availability in front of the speaker's office in the capital, which they can do. [SPEAKER_05]: I mean, it's not great for sound, but depending on the direction that the cameras are aimed, it's not bad for, and most of the cameras were not aimed with the door of the speaker's office behind them.

[SPEAKER_05]: They were aimed elsewhere. [SPEAKER_05]: So, you know, it's, it's obviously, you see them standing at you immediately know they're in the capital. [SPEAKER_05]: So, they're doing their thing.

[SPEAKER_05]: tiny Johnson comes out and he basically picks a fight with senators Kelly and Gaia go and then then that little jackass rep mic lawler from New York upstage decides that he gets into it and he's basically Johnson's hype man doing that oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah I'm like God you guys look so small and they're just they're they're being just

[SPEAKER_05]: absolutely stupid and looking really really tiny, which ties back to the whole thing of what AOC was saying is point at them and laugh at them because they're making themselves look tiny. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: So I do call him tiny Johnson because, you know, when Mike Loller comes out and waves this tiny Johnson. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, yeah.

[SPEAKER_05]: Oh yeah, oh yeah, well, okay, you're a public and it's going to wave your tiny Johnson and I just saw you want, but we're just going to point in the left, you know, like, you know, all the women or men or whatever, you know, they're emotionally small. [SPEAKER_05]: Yes, absolutely, and intellectually small, a lot of them, too. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh yeah, of course, of course.

[SPEAKER_04]: And what I think of people who are 410, I think of Stephen Miller, because I am still trying to figure out what happened yesterday on CNN.

[SPEAKER_05]: with the penalty of 40 oh my god yeah we can definitely talk about that whole thing too because we we got you from the other round you don't have to rush off and one on yeah oh yeah all right Bob Sesski is here it's Wednesday night we got last call coming up we've got more discussion about P.E.E. [SPEAKER_05]: German and some of the other news of the day look I'm gonna hammer that small thing [SPEAKER_05]: Ooh, I like that one. [SPEAKER_05]: Ooh, that's a good one.

[SPEAKER_05]: Check it out at the politicsbar.com. [SPEAKER_05]: All right, so Bob sent this to me, and now I've got this. [SPEAKER_05]: We can put this up on the DVR. [SPEAKER_05]: Just so you guys can hear exactly how completely disjoinied and ridiculous the grand peace out. [SPEAKER_05]: Here it is.

[SPEAKER_00]: We took the Freedom of Speech away because it's been through the courts and the courts and you have freedom of speech, but what has happened is when they burn a flag at agitates and irritates crowds have never seen anything like it on both sides. [SPEAKER_00]: never see nothing like it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, then never see anything like it. [SPEAKER_04]: It is not a Donald Trump advocate for New York hate's crowds. [SPEAKER_05]: Make sure ban him.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah exactly exactly Bob Saskan is right about that exactly what the I'm so discombobulated by that it's just the stupided burns. [SPEAKER_04]: It does. [SPEAKER_04]: It really is. [SPEAKER_04]: You can tell what he's kind of trying to do, but it makes no sense the way he described it. [SPEAKER_04]: He wants to say that there are limits to free speech. [SPEAKER_04]: There are, I can't say it that way, because he's cognitively declining, and he can't find the right phraseology.

[SPEAKER_04]: On top of the fact that he's just a stupid guy. [SPEAKER_04]: He's just a dumb stupid. [SPEAKER_04]: He is. [SPEAKER_04]: So he can't articulate things the way he ought to, as certainly someone who [SPEAKER_04]: president of the United States. [SPEAKER_05]: This is another one of those moments that goes to the grant be thing. [SPEAKER_05]: I understand that the whole, you know, Jake Tapper supposedly had this whole text dialogue with grant be.

[SPEAKER_03]: Do we even know that was him? [SPEAKER_05]: No, no, because it's texting, so who has, you have no idea who's on the other end of that device. [SPEAKER_05]: You have no idea, whoever it is may have been acting as an interpreter. [SPEAKER_05]: So Jake says, Jake said this on the text and Donald says, Rob, Rob, Rob, Rob, you know, we took the freedom of speech away and the person says, here, I'm going to interpret it in same language. [SPEAKER_04]: That's right.

[SPEAKER_04]: I put a translate. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, look. [SPEAKER_05]: I mean, and this isn't to say. [SPEAKER_05]: I mean, I think all of us have had family members who've been ill or elderly and, you know, you do assist them. [SPEAKER_05]: There's nothing wrong with assisting them. [SPEAKER_05]: It's just they're not the president of the United States and they don't control the largest nuclear arsenal on planet Earth.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: show there's that and also they didn't make an ongoing case for the last five years maybe six years that Joe Biden was cognitively paired which Donald Trump did for all that time and so did all of his disciples right so that's there's that on top of it yeah he just he look at [SPEAKER_05]: I understand why Joe Biden and Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, a lot of Democrats, not just in the president's office, a lot of Democrats are still to, sometimes in the language.

[SPEAKER_05]: I make fun of it sometimes when I say that Jeffries is doing his Obama impersonation. [SPEAKER_05]: Because honestly, sometimes I do think that it came Jeffries is doing an impersonation of Barack Obama. [SPEAKER_05]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Not as good as Josh Shapiro's a bomb on pressure. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, good. [SPEAKER_04]: No, that's not as good as you speak.

[SPEAKER_05]: But the pauses and I get because they're trying to phrase their words appropriately, they're not because they know if you say the wrong thing and you come off, you know, really stupid. [SPEAKER_05]: You're the freakin' president of the United States or your governor or your a state senator or a congressperson, especially with the media today. [SPEAKER_05]: That stuff is going to be repeated and repeated and repeated and repeated and it can be used against you in policy arguments.

[SPEAKER_05]: It can be used against you in arguments about your fitness to continue being in the office, so it is important to think carefully about the words that you're using. [SPEAKER_05]: And so I, you know, I've had frustrations with at times some of the people that we like when they have been and I'm like, you know, hey, I would like you to step it up.

[SPEAKER_05]: What there is a medium ground between just letting your brain dribble out all over the place, like grantee Trump does and, you know, pausing and taking, you know, 60 seconds between pauses, like sometimes Barack Obama did, which I loved it, but I was well known for being able to edit him down and make him sound good without actually editing any [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's the difference with Obama though as he was being thoughtful exactly.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, in order to be thoughtful where a double trump when he pauses Which by the way is now being filled with this? [SPEAKER_05]: Hey, isn't money a mad about that?

[SPEAKER_05]: Mommy's gonna sue him [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, the other thing about Donald and his decline and when he short circuits when he makes no sense when he's got toilet paper stuck to his shoe All things like that remember that what it is is [SPEAKER_04]: There's nothing wrong with delighting over a bully slipping on a banana peel and that's what it comes down to.

[SPEAKER_04]: Donald is such an unforgivable bully that whenever something bad happens to him, we all go yay because he's a bully and you want to see the bully get a taste of their own medicine or see the bully fall down and you want to see bad things happen to the bully. [SPEAKER_04]: Not that we're deliberately making bad things happen. [SPEAKER_04]: But when they do happen, we all kind of go.

[SPEAKER_05]: well good you deserve it you unforgivable bully you right and and look and we're not even we're not even saying like you know horrible horrible things like the whole Charlie Kirk thing that's we're not wishing for that but we are wishing for something not we are wishing for some kind of karmic justice you know like uh Donald admitting the other day that oh i i uh i go down the stairs slowly i was just about to say that [SPEAKER_05]: See? [SPEAKER_05]: Great minds.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Or the back of his hand rotting in the fact that he, he's so self-conscious of it, that he's got a paint over it, or try to disguise it with his other hand. [SPEAKER_04]: Do you want to say anything that makes me happy? [SPEAKER_05]: That makes out of the LGBTQ people in the area, men wearing makeup. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Of course. [SPEAKER_05]: Joe, he's given the face. [SPEAKER_05]: Joe, he's given the face. [SPEAKER_04]: You know what?

[SPEAKER_04]: I start to think that maybe he's colorblind because he can't find makeup that matches his skin tone. [SPEAKER_04]: I do. [SPEAKER_03]: It's a stand. [SPEAKER_03]: There's so many women, unfortunately, that have been beaten over the years that know how to cover up a bruise, it's not that hard.

[SPEAKER_05]: No, but you see he doesn't he doesn't necessarily keep them around that they don't have gay people that are out in gay Sanctuary, you need to make a artist right well minding most of the really good makeup artists Really good points on the ribbon all the gays away So I'm saying that's why they dress like crap and they look like crap because they don't do makeup They don't do costumes.

[SPEAKER_04]: I'm like come on people my Donald's hair looks the way it does [SPEAKER_05]: Because all the good hairdressers are like, I do not want to go within a month plus from everything that we know, from all the different people who have been around Donald Trump, they say the man stinks. [SPEAKER_05]: And literally, sorry, but yeah, you know, I can understand hairdressers not when you be around it, because, you know, you need to know a close pen, you can work with him.

[SPEAKER_05]: I just, the whole thing is, oh, my God, ridiculous. [SPEAKER_05]: And the fact, I'm really glad we mentioned this in hour one. [SPEAKER_05]: I am glad that the media, some of the mainstream media, is starting to focus on the ridiculousness. [SPEAKER_05]: They're actually admitting that Republicans are in disarray. [SPEAKER_05]: When they have not, they want to be like, you know, well, well, two Democrats disagree with all of them.

[SPEAKER_05]: So therefore, Democrats are in disarray. [SPEAKER_05]: It's like, that's no. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, I wouldn't be winning this shutdown fight. [SPEAKER_03]: No kidding. [SPEAKER_04]: We're being in total array. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you got to hand it to them. [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, we've been critical of the certainly the Democratic leadership on the Hill. [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_04]: But whatever they're doing, keep doing it.

[SPEAKER_03]: Yep. [SPEAKER_04]: Chuck Schumer had a great video that he put out today, which he let the obscenity fly. [SPEAKER_04]: It was just a blur to the effort at one point on this. [SPEAKER_03]: How do you look at was that? [SPEAKER_03]: That was so do you look? [SPEAKER_04]: very much so. [SPEAKER_04]: But it worked. [SPEAKER_04]: It was, you know, the thing is, I think the key is that with this Chuck Schumer video being an example, you have to seize the initiative.

[SPEAKER_04]: You have to not constantly be reacting to Donald Trump. [SPEAKER_04]: You have to create things that Donald Trump has to react to. [SPEAKER_04]: I think that video is proof of that. [SPEAKER_04]: And so I think that and certainly this overall strategy focusing on taking health care away from people, making people go bankrupt because they can't afford their insurance premiums and so on, that hits home.

[SPEAKER_04]: And it's not just hitting home with democratic voters, it's hitting home with some Republicans who may not have been completely indoctrinated into the maga call. [SPEAKER_04]: And maybe some who have been indoctrinated match three to three. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, exactly.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, so they're the fact that the fact that Democrats and they are still, if you listen to their not just get the clips, but if you listen to some of their full interviews, they are still hitting most of them on the three things that we've been discussing now for what, Jodie, two, three weeks now. [SPEAKER_03]: At least, yeah, we're a decision. [SPEAKER_03]: Finally, I'm hearing recision more and more. [SPEAKER_05]: I am too.

[SPEAKER_05]: And I love that because they're hitting on those things. [SPEAKER_05]: They're there. [SPEAKER_05]: I would I would love them to use the word cheating in in context with with precision because that's it. [SPEAKER_05]: The first ask has to be, look, don't cheat us. [SPEAKER_05]: Don't screw around. [SPEAKER_05]: Don't do decisions. [SPEAKER_05]: We do a deal. [SPEAKER_05]: That's fine. [SPEAKER_05]: But don't try to change it five minutes later.

[SPEAKER_05]: That's that thing number one. [SPEAKER_05]: Because otherwise, we can't make any deal with you. [SPEAKER_05]: thing number two is the ACA subsidies. [SPEAKER_05]: You got to give the ACA subsidies. [SPEAKER_05]: You got to keep those because otherwise, you know, 20 million plus people are going to have their insurance gone or screwed or whatever. [SPEAKER_05]: So you got to do that.

[SPEAKER_05]: And thing three is bring the money back for Medicare and Medicaid that you Republican stole in the big ugly bill. [SPEAKER_05]: Those are actually really simple things to describe, but at first, the media was like, oh, we can't decide both sides. [SPEAKER_05]: And thankfully, Democrats have really been sticking to it, and some folks in the media have been starting to finally repeat those facts, and it's like, good, please do, do it again. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, absolutely.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, they really have to keep a close eye on Russ Vaughn. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: There has to be some kind of oversight. [SPEAKER_04]: They can ban racisions or whatever in this legislation, but at the same time, who knows if Russ Vaughn is just going to ignore that and proceed forward by zeroing out congressional spending. [SPEAKER_05]: he could try but he's not going to be successful. [SPEAKER_05]: It's like it's like the 2019 law.

[SPEAKER_05]: Literally the law about you have to pay federal employees while we're on a shutdown, which happened because mostly Democrats and a few Republicans made the law after Donald Trump shut everything down for 30 days in 2018 and said, well, I'm not going to pay these people whatever. [SPEAKER_05]: So they literally made law and he signed the law. [SPEAKER_05]: He did. [SPEAKER_05]: And now they're like, well, I don't know if I want to follow the law.

[SPEAKER_05]: No dude, we wrote it specifically so that you would have to because we knew that you would probably try to pull the same trick again. [SPEAKER_05]: And he is. [SPEAKER_05]: And yeah, there's nothing they can say it, they can threaten it because they're trying to get people afraid. [SPEAKER_05]: They can be like, ooh, we're not going to pay you. [SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, you are. [SPEAKER_05]: Shut up. [SPEAKER_05]: Suck it. [SPEAKER_05]: You are going to pay us.

[SPEAKER_05]: Look, I think that's more people need to respond to the Republicans. [SPEAKER_05]: The Republicans, Magna Republicans get off on fear. [SPEAKER_05]: And you need to be, even if you are a little afraid, you need to have the courage. [SPEAKER_05]: Among other reasons that other people will also be courageous, but you need to have the courage to be like, no, you're wrong, suck it. [SPEAKER_05]: Have a nice day.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: And just speaking of that, they should also be taking a little bit of their own medicine too when it comes to fear. [SPEAKER_04]: They should be terrified right now. [SPEAKER_04]: Based on how this shutdown thing is going and helping [SPEAKER_04]: worsening economy, the jobs numbers, there's a big Wall Street Journal piece that was out today about how the employment situation is disintegrating.

[SPEAKER_04]: And so the Republicans, I've mentioned this a bunch of times, the Republicans would do well to distance themselves from Donald Trump. [SPEAKER_04]: But the great thing is, is they won't, so therefore that's going to be good news for the rest of us next year.

[SPEAKER_03]: And it also gives me hope because they're afraid with the jerrymandering that they haven't fixed the [SPEAKER_05]: right exactly they haven't fixed it yet but we got to keep you know keep our eyes on that ball and keep pushing forward on that [SPEAKER_05]: Bob, we always love having you around. [SPEAKER_05]: Everybody can listen to you on the Bob SESCA show, which already Hamilton twice a week, and then with some other really cool guests as well.

[SPEAKER_05]: Of course, they can also listen to you on Trek Politics with Mary Trump, because that is very, very awesome and awesome of that. [SPEAKER_05]: They can go to your store, Bob SESCA.com and get some fantastic t-shirts like Jet Pax made of beef, and of course, spicy Jody, which is always a good trick. [SPEAKER_05]: See you guys tomorrow night here at the politics bar
