[SPEAKER_09]: I got to the bar. [SPEAKER_09]: It's political. [SPEAKER_08]: I got to the bar. [SPEAKER_09]: Thank you, radical. [SPEAKER_08]: You think it's a bar? [SPEAKER_08]: Wherever you are, the politics bar. [SPEAKER_09]: Shotsmith Pearson, Jodie Hamilton. [SPEAKER_08]: Hey, Jodie, it's home name. [SPEAKER_04]: Sorry, I did not make you mean to make you do a spit take. [SPEAKER_04]: We've had one of those weeks so far.

[SPEAKER_04]: You know, it's just, you ever see that meme that's online where it's got the little girl and she says, why not both? [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, because we have both the stupid and the evil going on out there. [SPEAKER_04]: And hey, why not both? [SPEAKER_04]: Put your chocolate and your peanut butter together. [SPEAKER_04]: Only this is exactly the opposite of ours. [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, because chocolate peanut butter together is yummy.

[SPEAKER_04]: Exactly, stupid and evil gather is awful, but we will go over all these stupid and evil news that is pouring out of the taps today in the news on tap. [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you, by the way, for joining us this evening here at the politics bar coming in from wherever you happen to be. [SPEAKER_04]: America, one rating went to land to thank you for joining us from ATL or WCPTA, a.m. [SPEAKER_04]: a.m. [SPEAKER_04]: a. twenty shiitown. [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you, Chicago.

[SPEAKER_04]: A. M. nine fifty miniapolis Saint Paul. [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you Twin cities. [SPEAKER_04]: Of course, you were talk. [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you, Tennessee. [SPEAKER_04]: We love that and progressive voices radio worldwide. [SPEAKER_04]: Wherever you happen to be or hey, if you are one of those magical wonderful future people. [SPEAKER_04]: Sure. [SPEAKER_04]: Do you have to Lawrence? [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, God, please travel back and get rid of this big orange turd.

[SPEAKER_04]: We have you just saying. [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you very much, future people. [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you, by the way, for everybody who was also interacting with us online. [SPEAKER_04]: Whether you're coming at us from Blue Sky or Twitter or Threads or Instagram or Facebook or Substack, we appreciate it. [SPEAKER_04]: Have some new followers and some new subscribers out there. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, by the way, brother David got a hold of me last night.

[SPEAKER_04]: He called him the barphone and literally like after after after after like after Carlos had gone. [SPEAKER_04]: I think you would left early and I was about to go and anyway. [SPEAKER_04]: He said the show with Carlos was great. [SPEAKER_04]: He loved it. [SPEAKER_04]: He said Jody of course is fantastic and wonderful and awesome and she sounds great. [SPEAKER_04]: Also Brother David said he thinks your mom should be written into the guilty age because of course.

[SPEAKER_04]: I mean she'd kill it. [SPEAKER_04]: So which you know I mean [SPEAKER_04]: You know, whatever, I'm like, look, you know, he used to be the theater critic for the LA Times. [SPEAKER_04]: David is fantastic. [SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, he does no entertainment and he's working in theater now. [SPEAKER_04]: So, which is good.

[SPEAKER_04]: Rich, by the way, online also hit us up and he said, we should all stop with the if Biden did it or Obama did it because it's just, it's paying for, I was Trump could pull his pants down and take a dump on the White House and the mainstream legacy media would go, yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: I know. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, he's not he's not wrong. [SPEAKER_04]: There was, oh, God, he wasn't on CNN this morning. [SPEAKER_04]: She sent something absolutely off the wall.

[SPEAKER_04]: Now, I used to do this a lot. [SPEAKER_04]: Part of the reason I used to be known as an A hole is when when most of the media was all on Twitter long before Elon bought it and somebody in the national media would be dumb. [SPEAKER_04]: I would often go out and I would comment, like a producer would, like an editor because I've done these things. [SPEAKER_04]: I would say to them what their producers should have said.

[SPEAKER_04]: Basically, you know, slap upside the head and be like, what the hell is wrong with you, Jackass? [SPEAKER_07]: Was it Mika when she said that, you know, there is bad crime in DC where she doesn't live? [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: I didn't slap her because that's kind of pointless because it's Mika and she doesn't do social media. [SPEAKER_04]: She has people who do that. [SPEAKER_04]: She doesn't actually do it herself.

[SPEAKER_04]: Um, no, with somebody overseeing it, and I can't remember who it was, but I was like, you idiot, but I used to what I would do sometimes with these people, as I would, I would hit them, and then I would, especially if they, they replied back with something snarky, then I would loop in their bosses. [SPEAKER_04]: And people are like, oh my god, and I'm like, it's very simple. [SPEAKER_04]: Your producer should have told you this.

[SPEAKER_04]: You have this wonderful job where you get to dance in front of a whole bunch of people, millions of people. [SPEAKER_04]: Now admittedly, cable news is not what it used to be. [SPEAKER_04]: And I were talking about this yesterday, I believe, as we were closing the bar down.

[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it's, we're in a city, we're in a nation of about three hundred and fifty, you've somewhat million people, cable news gets, you know, about a million each channel, maybe less a day, depending on the day. [SPEAKER_04]: So it's not even the one percent of the population that it used to be.

[SPEAKER_04]: That said, I mean, a million people is still a million people still a lot of people and they can talk to others and like the Fabricier commercials and so on and so on and so on exactly and when you are one of those and so on generating people, you got to watch what you're saying and you got to not say stupid crap and if you say stupid crap, you got to say, hey, I said stupid crap. [SPEAKER_04]: Right. [SPEAKER_04]: We have admitted when we've made mistakes already.

[SPEAKER_04]: We haven't even the bar here hasn't even opened ninety days. [SPEAKER_04]: I know a lot of you feel like it has been and we appreciate that. [SPEAKER_04]: We appreciate that because you know me from, you know, Randy show and Steph show, you know, Jody from Steph show. [SPEAKER_04]: We've been doing this for a long time. [SPEAKER_04]: So you're like, hey, your friends, your family, man, you are our family. [SPEAKER_04]: That's great.

[SPEAKER_04]: But [SPEAKER_04]: We've only been doing the week that only had tomorrow but ninety days and we still I don't know probably once a week we make a mistake we correct it because that's what professionals do and a lot of these folks especially in the legacy media you know oh my god I can't say that well it's not just professionals it's non-propegandists

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it is that they're not shoveling the propaganda because there's a lot of that crap out there today in the news on tap. [SPEAKER_04]: So Trump's stopping his little feet into with the National Guard troops into DC. [SPEAKER_04]: Look, I've I've lived here on and off for let's see. [SPEAKER_04]: I got here at twenty ten was here for a while left came back twenty eleven was here for a while came back in twenty fourteen. [SPEAKER_04]: I've been in the DC metro area since so.

[SPEAKER_04]: that it is not a hell. [SPEAKER_04]: Even when I've been in something even even when you street before it got gentrified. [SPEAKER_04]: It's still depending on the time of day. [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, look, there are places in most cities and even in small towns where you just, you're not an idiot. [SPEAKER_04]: You don't, you don't do stupid things. [SPEAKER_04]: Certain times a day. [SPEAKER_07]: But I love DC.

[SPEAKER_07]: Every time I go, like Stephanie said twice now this week, I walk the city because I'm a crazy walking person. [SPEAKER_04]: Which you can do DC's eminently walkable. [SPEAKER_07]: Oh my gosh, that's the best walking city. [SPEAKER_07]: Last time I was there was to see Bob and Kimberly in their refrigerator. [SPEAKER_04]: And So we were staying here the spy museum, which was awesome. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's great down there. [SPEAKER_04]: It's nice. [SPEAKER_03]: I love that.

[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, I love the spy museum, by the way, went there so fun. [SPEAKER_07]: Anyway, I didn't form it, by the way. [SPEAKER_07]: And I asked Malcolm, you guys, yeah, that's true, everything that they have is true. [SPEAKER_07]: So anyway, so we were staying near the spy museum and my friend that I took with me, my friend Amanda, we went to go see Bob and Kimberly.

[SPEAKER_07]: And so in the morning, because I got up way before she did, because me, and I just started walking around near the river.

[SPEAKER_07]: And I mean, all around that area, and then [SPEAKER_04]: you know where you're going and you know it look DC can be we we will talk with Bob he's he'll be in the bar later on tonight and we will talk with him because Bob was born here he's lived other places he's came back he knows the city as well are better than I do and I stay in Georgetown and walked around I mean I went from where we were at the spy museum all the way we all we somebody I want all the way to the capital and

[SPEAKER_04]: You're not wrong. [SPEAKER_04]: You're not wrong. [SPEAKER_04]: Somebody else who spent a lot of time here, former General Mark hurtling. [SPEAKER_04]: He posted this out on one of the social media, as I don't know where it was. [SPEAKER_04]: And he said, you'd see it this last night. [SPEAKER_04]: He said, look, our division commander, Interac, band things called quote unquote presence patrols.

[SPEAKER_04]: Right. [SPEAKER_04]: And I've heard this to say, remember when we said, you know, BS duty, BS duty presence patrols. [SPEAKER_04]: They're all the same thing. [SPEAKER_04]: And hurtling said, if you do not have a task and purpose presence, [SPEAKER_04]: of patrols, doesn't do a goddamn thing. [SPEAKER_04]: No. [SPEAKER_04]: In the National Guard, they are doing right now.

[SPEAKER_04]: They literally had stated in some press release that they were doing quote unquote presence patrols. [SPEAKER_04]: It's a total waste of soldiers time. [SPEAKER_04]: It's a total waste of resources. [SPEAKER_04]: It is, it's a morale killer like it wasn't LA. [SPEAKER_04]: The locals are, they just get pissed off because they're like, we don't need you people here. [SPEAKER_06]: Right. [SPEAKER_04]: And actually that the local cops get me, oh, here's here's the thing on that too.

[SPEAKER_04]: So Trump was at the Kennedy Center this morning, flapping his gums because he's slow. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, well, we'll talk about that later, too. [SPEAKER_04]: God. [SPEAKER_04]: Anyway, so here's here was here was here was graping McDumbass talking about what he thinks they're going to do. [SPEAKER_04]: Go ahead. [SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, Mr. President. [SPEAKER_02]: Your federalization of the police has a thirty day limit unless Congress acts to extend it.

[SPEAKER_02]: Are you talking to Congress about extending it or do you believe thirty days is sufficient? [SPEAKER_00]: Well, if it's a national emergency, we can do it without Congress, but we expect to be to Congress before Congress very quickly. [SPEAKER_00]: And again, we think the Democrats will not do anything to stop crime, but we think the Republicans will do it almost unanimously. [SPEAKER_00]: So we're going to need a crime bill that we're going to be putting in.

[SPEAKER_00]: actually. [SPEAKER_00]: Trump is. [SPEAKER_07]: I'm sorry, aren't most red cities and red states have worse crime than democratically runs. [SPEAKER_04]: There's a lot of them. [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, there's I would say it's probably two thirds to one third, but yeah, there there are a lot of them. [SPEAKER_04]: Of course, he's not not targeting Memphis. [SPEAKER_04]: He's not targeting. [SPEAKER_04]: No, no, no. [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[SPEAKER_04]: He has a city or here's the thing here's the thing Trump can he can take over the DC police department for thirty days only that's it. [SPEAKER_04]: If he wants to do it more than that he has to get Congress approval and I believe it takes sixty sixty votes in the Senate because it's that's a filibuster. [SPEAKER_04]: Right right which means no they are not going to allow him to do that he can pound sand. [SPEAKER_07]: But he can't keep the national guard there.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, he can keep the National Guard deployed as long as he wants, but it's the same thing that happened in LA. [SPEAKER_04]: And here's the thing. [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, the, the, the, the, the people who are in the National Guard. [SPEAKER_04]: First of all, you're taking them away. [SPEAKER_04]: You mentioned this yesterday. [SPEAKER_07]: We mentioned that before when there was an Emily's and all that stuff. [SPEAKER_07]: They have actual jobs besides being in the Gars.

[SPEAKER_04]: small businesses. [SPEAKER_04]: They have all these if, you know, uh, uh, neither of us are in the guard, but if we were, and it galls up, we'd have to pause the, the show because that's just, uh, that works. [SPEAKER_04]: That's, that's the guard thing. [SPEAKER_04]: So first of all, it's dumb. [SPEAKER_04]: Second of all, it weighs resources. [SPEAKER_04]: Third of all, it, it harms morale, which morale does take time to come back up.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's not something you can flip a switch on. [SPEAKER_04]: And it also, you ask anybody who's been in the service and anything like this, any of these, you know, B.S. [SPEAKER_04]: assigned men's presence patrols, whatever you want to call them, they dull, they, they, hell, if we got a Mark hurtling on, I would ask him, um, they dull the senses. [SPEAKER_04]: They, they, they, they feel anybody who's, I mean, you're, you're sitting there just to witness your thumbs.

[SPEAKER_04]: When something finally does happen, you are slower to react because [SPEAKER_04]: You've been sitting there, you know, go on. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: So this is just the absolute most stupid. [SPEAKER_04]: And it's all to try and scare them. [SPEAKER_04]: And here's the thing. [SPEAKER_04]: They can't most of them are not carrying their weapons and they can't do a rest. [SPEAKER_07]: Well, they shouldn't.

[SPEAKER_04]: Well, they're, yeah, overwhelmingly they can't. [SPEAKER_04]: So here's the thing that what, what are they doing other than saying, I'm here. [SPEAKER_07]: Well, and well, I remember when they were here in ninety two after the riots. [SPEAKER_07]: And that was rightfully called in. [SPEAKER_07]: Right. [SPEAKER_04]: That was rifle in ninety two. [SPEAKER_04]: I get that. [SPEAKER_07]: There were major riots. [SPEAKER_07]: The city was on fire.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I mean, not like not like the one car that Fox has said from LA. [SPEAKER_07]: We're still making spores off of that. [SPEAKER_07]: Just letting you know, they're really good spores because way though smells really good anyway.

[SPEAKER_07]: But I remember it was about almost before they were [SPEAKER_07]: canceled from being down here I went to a nightclub in Hollywood that no longer exists and I parked near the Hollywood police station but there was a national guard tank basically right there basically to protect the police for obvious reasons and so I was just like I could leave the car running and unlocked and I will come back and my car will be here [SPEAKER_07]: So I mean, that's what they were there for.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, look, we've we've we've had the statistics crime is down nationwide. [SPEAKER_04]: Thanks to things that that Biden and Harris and Democrats did, especially with regards to the investment in communities and in community policing over the last few years. [SPEAKER_04]: It'll be interesting to see what the actual crime statistics if we can see these statistics next year. [SPEAKER_04]: We'll talk about that. [SPEAKER_04]: We'll talk about the new BS BLS guy.

[SPEAKER_04]: We'll talk about all kinds of stuff. [SPEAKER_04]: Joan Walsh was going to be here. [SPEAKER_04]: She had to beg off. [SPEAKER_04]: She had to go do something else. [SPEAKER_04]: But look, we will get Joan back in here fairly soon. [SPEAKER_04]: We do have Bob Cesska later tonight.

[SPEAKER_04]: We do have a [SPEAKER_04]: It's a very positive drink of the day and you will have to ask me the difference between what being positive and Sean positive is because there's a very, very big difference there. [SPEAKER_04]: It is a Wednesday night here at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_04]: We are very glad you are hanging out with this. [SPEAKER_04]: Look, freshen up your drink. [SPEAKER_04]: Come all back and join Jody and me for another round. [SPEAKER_04]: All right.

[SPEAKER_04]: All right. [SPEAKER_10]: We'll be right back after we pay some bills at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_04]: Wednesday night here at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_04]: We are dancing and hanging out with you. [SPEAKER_04]: Joe is getting into it. [SPEAKER_04]: It is good music and we are very glad to have it. [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you very much to Lonnie for that. [SPEAKER_04]: Hey, thank you very much to you by the way for listening from wherever you happen to be and for interact.

[SPEAKER_04]: We mentioned this earlier, but please get a hold of us. [SPEAKER_04]: You can do it through, you know, Substack. [SPEAKER_04]: It's easy to do there. [SPEAKER_04]: Facebook, Instagram, Blue Sky Threads, or Twitter, or hey, you can always call us too on the bar line. [SPEAKER_04]: My brother David did.

[SPEAKER_04]: two one three six seven seven seven seventy two fifty eight two one three six seven seven seven two well partly twice two three six seven seven seventy two fifty eight eight you know whatever it's Wednesday two one three six seven seven salt [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it is Wednesday and I am, I am just a little tired because, you know, I mean, I had, I had some difficulty sleeping last night to be honest with you. [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, I'm sorry.

[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I realize that, you know, this whole BS that's going on, that Trump is doing, he did with that lay that he's now doing what he see. [SPEAKER_04]: It is overwhelmingly mostly a show. [SPEAKER_04]: But that doesn't necessarily mean that, especially if somebody has an active imagination and I do, [SPEAKER_04]: Um, that you can't see the potential possibilities what could happen. [SPEAKER_04]: Right. [SPEAKER_04]: And I get I get that other people are freaked out about it.

[SPEAKER_04]: I get that other people are worried that they're concerned that, um, you know, that that [SPEAKER_04]: look, I get it. [SPEAKER_04]: It seems it is very much. [SPEAKER_04]: And look, there are there are constitutional issues involved right now. [SPEAKER_04]: There's that Posse Comotetta's trial going on. [SPEAKER_04]: Day three was supposed to be today. [SPEAKER_04]: I have not heard what the last bit was, but at last check, the Trump side was not doing very well.

[SPEAKER_04]: And Governor Newsom side was doing really pretty solidly. [SPEAKER_04]: Mainly because of my other things, a Posse Comotetta's, it's in the Constitution. [SPEAKER_04]: So, there's that. [SPEAKER_04]: The Trump side can't prove why they think California law enforcement couldn't do their own jobs. [SPEAKER_04]: Um, new some mayor bass. [SPEAKER_04]: None of local state authorities County authorities. [SPEAKER_04]: They all told the feds. [SPEAKER_04]: We do not need your help.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: If they didn't, if they needed it, they would have said something. [SPEAKER_04]: The vast for it. [SPEAKER_04]: Right. [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_04]: Plus the conflict was over before the federal forces showed up. [SPEAKER_04]: And then there's something brother David reminded me of last night with this. [SPEAKER_04]: And this is one of the reasons that he called is that he said, look, there are tenth amendment issues. [SPEAKER_07]: Thank you.

[SPEAKER_07]: It's states. [SPEAKER_07]: I thought the Republicans were all about states, right? [SPEAKER_04]: You would think, but it's like everything else with moderate Republicans these days. [SPEAKER_04]: They're all about something so long as it benefits them. [SPEAKER_04]: I've said this, um, team times, and I will continue to say this, the modern Republican motto, pretty much encapsulates almost everything about them these days. [SPEAKER_04]: It's five simple words.

[SPEAKER_04]: I've got mine, F, you. [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: They all think it, which if you can imagine a room, like one of those escape rooms, you ever done one of those escape rooms? [SPEAKER_07]: No, they sound fun and frightening. [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, I did one once, I, not necessarily want to do one again, because again, active imagination.

[SPEAKER_04]: But if you go into one and you're going in with a group, you can have a bunch of people and each one has a different piece and part and you have to do certain things and whatever. [SPEAKER_04]: So you can imagine a room where there are, say, thirty Republicans, and they're all locked in, and they all would have to work together. [SPEAKER_04]: And if all they did was work together, they could easily get out of the room, except their modern Republicans.

[SPEAKER_04]: And so each one says, I've got my piece. [SPEAKER_04]: If you, you don't get to, I get to do, no, I get to take credit. [SPEAKER_04]: No, I get to take credit. [SPEAKER_04]: They would end up dying of hunger or thirst or whatever, because they'd never get out of the room. [SPEAKER_07]: What's like what Carlos says, it's like with the purity tests for liberals. [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: We're sinking in the boat. [SPEAKER_06]: Right. [SPEAKER_07]: Let's plug the boat.

[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, but the boat needs a plug with this kind of thing or that kind of thing. [SPEAKER_07]: And it's like, dude, we're sinking. [SPEAKER_04]: We have that at this bar. [SPEAKER_04]: We've talked about that since the very beginning. [SPEAKER_04]: I still have an issue with Carlos having an issue with trans people. [SPEAKER_07]: But it's not an unusual thing right now because people are learning about it and he'll learn more.

[SPEAKER_04]: Exactly exactly and that and that is the kind of thing that you have to look at is Can can you reach somebody can you communicate with somebody we can communicate with Carlos will have him back in with fine. [SPEAKER_04]: That's no worries about that because he's good on other subjects. [SPEAKER_04]: I am at Parker Maloising if she will drop by next week while you are on vacation. [SPEAKER_04]: I [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it'll be fun. [SPEAKER_04]: It'll be fun.

[SPEAKER_04]: But, you know, we like, we love her because Parker is great. [SPEAKER_04]: She's great. [SPEAKER_04]: She's great. [SPEAKER_04]: So, but this is, you know, this is the kind of thing is that you want to not just talk about somebody. [SPEAKER_04]: You want to bring people in who have this, which, of course, we do. [SPEAKER_04]: That's why we try to bring everybody in to the bar to talk about these kinds of things.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's one of the reasons that, you know, we reach out to so many of these different experts on things. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I reached out to a few of the different economists folks that we know. [SPEAKER_04]: So, skip a down a little bit in the news on tap today. [SPEAKER_04]: In the war on good government, yes, this guy that Trump is trying to pick for the BLS. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you had it perfect, Joe, do you said that he's the BS pick for the BLS? [SPEAKER_04]: And he is.

[SPEAKER_04]: across the board they hate him. [SPEAKER_04]: Here's the thing. [SPEAKER_04]: So this douche bag, remember we were saying yesterday that we all know exactly when the reports come out and that everybody wrote in the market, they know the banks as you caught, as you caught on and I hadn't even said it yet and you noticed said, you know, that's yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: So his brilliant idea is, well, we just won't put out the reports. [SPEAKER_04]: And I'm like, wait a minute.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I was, it's not a single law. [SPEAKER_04]: It's actually multiple different laws that add up to the BLS has to put out the reports, most of the reports that they are putting out, whether they want to or not. [SPEAKER_04]: So what you and I were talking about yesterday about how these two thousand people put these reports together, he doesn't get them beforehand. [SPEAKER_04]: Some of that is legally confined.

[SPEAKER_04]: Like with the job support, he can't get that beforehand. [SPEAKER_04]: He can claim it all he wants. [SPEAKER_04]: And in fact, BS Barbie at the White House Caroline, KKK Caroline said, oh, no, the White House is going to make sure the job supports. [SPEAKER_04]: And she said it because, at least on that, she seems to understand that the law says that the BLS has to put out the job supports. [SPEAKER_04]: So whether they like it or not.

[SPEAKER_04]: So this, this Jack asked this BS Jack asked, he's wrong and he's done. [SPEAKER_07]: Well, he was running it now before he gets confirmed.

[SPEAKER_04]: uh... the former assistant commissioner of the b l s l s l l s l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l l

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and, and that is one of those few things that I'm pretty sure at least in the Senate. [SPEAKER_04]: You're going to see soon be like, you know, what F off? [SPEAKER_04]: We have to make sure that we don't shut down. [SPEAKER_04]: Don't do a CR. [SPEAKER_07]: They're just going to do a CR. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I'm sure they probably will, and that's fine. [SPEAKER_04]: They'll, they'll figure out some, you know, we easily way to get out of it.

[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, after all, you know, it's it's phone who, you know, not exactly the brightest bulb in the box and tiny Johnson. [SPEAKER_04]: But look, so there was something interesting. [SPEAKER_04]: So I did see that there were there's two other pieces that are in that there's a lot of other stuff in this. [SPEAKER_04]: Look, you could check it out yourself. [SPEAKER_04]: It is in the news on tap today at the politicsbar.com.

[SPEAKER_04]: What you can subscribe to for free and you should. [SPEAKER_04]: You can check out all the news that way, but obviously, you're doing things. [SPEAKER_04]: We're helping out by getting you the news this way. [SPEAKER_04]: So there was two notes, both focusing on commerce, secretary, Howard, not like, I mean, Latinic guy. [SPEAKER_04]: I keep doing this with you and Stephanie.

[SPEAKER_04]: Well, you know, look, the guy seems to have the same habit that Lindsey Graham does with Trump. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm just... Sean Louise Pierce. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm just telling it like it is, folks. [SPEAKER_04]: Anyway, so, a lot of Nick confirmed to census workers yesterday. [SPEAKER_04]: The Congress does have final say over the census count, not Trump, and that undocumented persons will be counted.

[SPEAKER_04]: When there's a reason for that because the electoral college is very important to the southern states and the constitution states it so even you know it's it's one of those things where even KKK Caroline and Howard not like I mean let Nick figured it out that there are things in the constitution that say this is what you do and you kind of can't get around that

[SPEAKER_04]: So we're starting to see, it's starting to come in a perspective where at least their line is, it's really, really close to the Constitution. [SPEAKER_04]: But at least it still. [SPEAKER_04]: This was like, OK, good. [SPEAKER_04]: So they're not complete. [SPEAKER_07]: Anyway, but what did not lick it, let, let, let Nick say. [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_04]: You did, it's good. [SPEAKER_04]: He did something stupid though. [SPEAKER_04]: You're right.

[SPEAKER_04]: You're right. [SPEAKER_04]: You did this because I saw, I saw the one and you saw the other. [SPEAKER_04]: This is the one you saw. [SPEAKER_04]: So after the firing of the BLS commissioner, uh, let Nick told statisticians of the BLS that their independence is quote nonsense. [SPEAKER_07]: But it's numbers. [SPEAKER_07]: There is no independence. [SPEAKER_07]: It's just numbers or numbers. [SPEAKER_07]: It's math.

[SPEAKER_04]: People don't understand that two plus two is five if Trump says it is. [SPEAKER_07]: I'm going into the other realm now. [SPEAKER_07]: I'll be back. [SPEAKER_07]: I'm going to go on earth one, not this race right now. [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, yes. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, no, you're right. [SPEAKER_04]: You're right, Jody. [SPEAKER_04]: Look, two plus two still equals four. [SPEAKER_04]: There are not five lights for those of you who are Star Trek fans.

[SPEAKER_04]: We'll have to, we'll have to throw that one pops away when he gets past. [SPEAKER_04]: I guess, I mean, he had a great time from what I heard. [SPEAKER_04]: I guess he feels energized. [SPEAKER_07]: David and me to go next year. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, interesting. [SPEAKER_07]: I would have an outfit. [SPEAKER_07]: I have a full-on science officer from the nineteen sixties outfit. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, hello. [SPEAKER_04]: Hello. [SPEAKER_07]: And then I black wig that works with it.

[SPEAKER_07]: I have a whole thing. [SPEAKER_04]: And yes, that was an animani ex-boy. [SPEAKER_04]: That is one of the few voices I can still do well. [SPEAKER_04]: Way of morality. [SPEAKER_04]: Ten, ten, ten. [SPEAKER_04]: Tell us a lesson that we should learn. [SPEAKER_04]: What's his say? [SPEAKER_04]: What's his say? [SPEAKER_04]: Freight trip to Tahiti. [SPEAKER_04]: Woo-hoo! [SPEAKER_04]: I've always been able to do that. [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know why. [SPEAKER_04]: I just.

[SPEAKER_07]: That's a weird trait. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, before before my voice change many years ago, I could do a lot more cartoon voices to that. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I just, you know, I've always been playing my voice. [SPEAKER_04]: It's fun. [SPEAKER_04]: It's fun and what do you mean Sean? [SPEAKER_04]: What do you mean, John? [SPEAKER_04]: John, what do you mean? [SPEAKER_04]: It's one of the reasons that, you know, among other things, we like Carlos, because he's, he's, he's great places.

[SPEAKER_04]: He's fantastic with voices. [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if he could do Putin's voice, though. [SPEAKER_04]: Obviously, he could do it. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, Putin clearly is is the puppet master when it comes to Trump. [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_04]: They keep backing this down. [SPEAKER_04]: Although, so there was a meeting a meeting over Zoom earlier today. [SPEAKER_04]: Which look, you know, we do the show that way. [SPEAKER_04]: It's fine. [SPEAKER_04]: Whatever.

[SPEAKER_04]: But there was a meeting over Zoom today between Trump and Vance. [SPEAKER_04]: I guess went to Europe. [SPEAKER_04]: He was there with the EU and Zelensky was in the EU. [SPEAKER_04]: I'll talk about this Macron said that Trump in that meeting. [SPEAKER_04]: said that he is with the EU nations and Ukraine agreeing that Ukraine is the only one who can negotiate territorial concessions with Russia. [SPEAKER_04]: However. [SPEAKER_07]: He's lying.

[SPEAKER_04]: Well, no, no, I mean, it doesn't. [SPEAKER_07]: No, he's right, but he's right. [SPEAKER_07]: He's right. [SPEAKER_07]: He doesn't believe that. [SPEAKER_07]: That's, I guess, the better. [SPEAKER_04]: He will do it. [SPEAKER_04]: I agree with you. [SPEAKER_04]: I think he'll do whatever Putin tells you. [SPEAKER_07]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_04]: And look, there was, there was a, there's a really good, it's an important story. [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know, it's a good story.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's an important story. [SPEAKER_04]: It's an important story. [SPEAKER_04]: We were talking we've been talking on and off since last week when it happened the attack on pacer that's a system that the federal court files and and I remember the you pointed out just the other day that that this can get that was it Friday you were saying that some of that some of the the drug cartels [SPEAKER_04]: that they can get the witness license. [SPEAKER_04]: Right. [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[SPEAKER_04]: Okay. [SPEAKER_04]: Now there is a new story. [SPEAKER_04]: It is coming from the New York Times. [SPEAKER_04]: We got a gift link. [SPEAKER_04]: So if you're not a subscriber, it's fine. [SPEAKER_04]: You can still get to it at the news on tap at the politicsbar.com. [SPEAKER_04]: Russia is now suspected to be behind the breach of the Pacer system, the federal court filing system. [SPEAKER_07]: I'm this is my shocked face.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and she's not giving any expression at all. [SPEAKER_04]: Do you honestly think that Donnie is going to talk with Putin about that and be like, what the hell were you doing breaking into our computer? [SPEAKER_07]: Right. [SPEAKER_04]: Because you don't talk to your boss like, oh, oh, sorry. [SPEAKER_04]: Did I say that out loud? [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, no, you didn't. [SPEAKER_07]: And that's okay.

[SPEAKER_07]: And by the way, Putin again should be arrested the minute he steps on American soil. [SPEAKER_04]: arrested is the least that I would do, but I am not this is one of the reasons. [SPEAKER_04]: That's another thing. [SPEAKER_04]: Hmm. [SPEAKER_07]: I'm fine with that. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm fine with that. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm fine with that. [SPEAKER_04]: Jack needs something to do. [SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, exactly.

[SPEAKER_04]: Speaking of things like Jack Smith and Mr. Mueller, we did have one of our friends. [SPEAKER_04]: Get out, catch. [SPEAKER_04]: She's, she's very good. [SPEAKER_07]: That was amazing. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: She's very good at finding out some of this information, which unfortunately, not everybody pays attention to. [SPEAKER_04]: But Allison Gill found Elaine Maxwell's security score custody level transfer code and sex offender waver sheet.

[SPEAKER_04]: And it all made very clear, she should not be allowed on work release. [SPEAKER_04]: And yet the Trump administration is giving Maxwell work release. [SPEAKER_04]: So she can do the same thing that Jeffrey has to do. [SPEAKER_07]: Her work was getting young ladies.

[SPEAKER_04]: former boyfriend boyfriend right to have some sex with people that they would not want to but right but she's yeah um as as a sex offender she is classified that she is not allowed first of all she's not supposed to be in the facility she's not sure even if there's a waiver to be a that facility she's not cleared for work release and yet magically wow the Trump DOJ is allowing her to be at this facility and allowing her work release

[SPEAKER_07]: Did you see the meme of an immigrant wearing the upstream files so that they wouldn't? [SPEAKER_04]: So they can't see them? [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, which honestly, that's about the half of it. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: It's a funny meme and accurate. [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_04]: If you miss the story, look, we've got them there. [SPEAKER_04]: It is in the news on tap at the politics bar back on. [SPEAKER_04]: We also have the drink of the day.

[SPEAKER_04]: I think you want to do that next. [SPEAKER_04]: Sure. [SPEAKER_04]: All right. [SPEAKER_04]: We will be the drink of the day next and you will find out the difference between positivity at well being positive and Sean positive because there is a clear difference and my wife. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, she'll have me help you educate you. [SPEAKER_04]: You know what I mean? [SPEAKER_04]: Look, I've had a few, you should have a few more.

[SPEAKER_04]: It is Wednesday night here at the Politics Bar with Jody and Sean and you. [SPEAKER_04]: Hang on. [SPEAKER_04]: Wednesday night here at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you very much for hanging out with us. [SPEAKER_04]: It always is, look, it's better because you're here. [SPEAKER_04]: It'd be even better if you bring more friends. [SPEAKER_04]: Look, just, you know, tell them they should subscribe to the politics bar podcast.

[SPEAKER_04]: Look, y'all got your phones in your hand anyway. [SPEAKER_04]: Go to the podcast app, type in the politics bar. [SPEAKER_04]: It's like a DVR for your favorite radio shows. [SPEAKER_04]: So you can listen on the radio and then if there's anything you miss, bam.

[SPEAKER_04]: you can also do it again very simple or of course you can always subscribe at the politics bar dot com six dollars a month it is the lowest cover charge of any bar in the country gets you the politics bar podcast ad free and it gets you the drink of the day you get the full recipe and you can keep those recipes and do whatever you want with them check it out at the politics bar dot com okay today's drink of the day um so some people say that I'm almost too positive at some time so I need to hear this story

[SPEAKER_04]: I try to be positive, but you know, there are times when I am more realistic to say the least. [SPEAKER_04]: And look, you know, for example, there's that old saying, you know, when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. [SPEAKER_04]: And I'm always like, well, if all the life gives you is lemons, that's going to be a really crappy lemonade. [SPEAKER_04]: At least, if life gives you lemons, it should also give you water and sugar and a pitcher or something to make it in.

[SPEAKER_04]: Give me a clean bucket and a care. [SPEAKER_04]: But, you know, if all you give me lemons, I'm gonna have rotting lemons and this is gonna suck. [SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, that's not lemonade. [SPEAKER_04]: Just, you know, you gotta be realistic sometimes. [SPEAKER_04]: There are times when I'm kind of like that. [SPEAKER_04]: And I will, my wife will be like, look, don't drag me down. [SPEAKER_04]: You're, you know, you need to, you know, be a little bit more positive.

[SPEAKER_04]: And she would say that and if she would, so, you know, we've got this, we've been together in thirty issues anyway. [SPEAKER_04]: And, and, and she would, she would say this when we first started dating and I would do this and she would say, you need to be more positive. [SPEAKER_04]: Because, you know, I'd say, you know, this sucks. [SPEAKER_04]: And she'd say, you need to be more positive. [SPEAKER_04]: And so I'd reply, okay, I'm positive this sucks.

[SPEAKER_04]: That is what being Sean positive is. [SPEAKER_04]: So look, if you know something sucks, you can say, I'm positive. [SPEAKER_04]: This sucks. [SPEAKER_07]: Like the president of the United States. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, friend, friend of mine and we used to freak people out. [SPEAKER_04]: We would do all kinds of fun things. [SPEAKER_04]: He's gone a whole different way in his life and I wish him well, but we used to have fun.

[SPEAKER_04]: And sometimes we would go into places like like we'd go into a grocery store and like midnight or something. [SPEAKER_04]: And we'd have these voices and we'd be like, yes, this is gonna suck. [SPEAKER_04]: This is awesome. [SPEAKER_04]: People, right? [SPEAKER_04]: People look at you and go, the hell is wrong with you and you go, I'm positive. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm positive, this sucks.

[SPEAKER_04]: So, [SPEAKER_04]: With that in mind, today's drink of the day is a not-to-positiveity, just not exactly Sean positivity. [SPEAKER_04]: So, there you go. [SPEAKER_04]: What is the drink of? [SPEAKER_07]: Lemon cello spritz, because today is National Prosecco Day, which is my favorite sparkling wine as a Prosecco. [SPEAKER_04]: I didn't even know there was a National Prosecco Day. [SPEAKER_07]: I didn't know it either, and I found it out.

[SPEAKER_04]: Well, look, this, this is one of those fun things. [SPEAKER_04]: Radio DJs. [SPEAKER_04]: We find out all kinds of, you know, this is the day for this. [SPEAKER_04]: This is the day for there's like a national jelly bean day. [SPEAKER_04]: There's all kinds of word days. [SPEAKER_04]: Then it today is National Prosecutor day. [SPEAKER_04]: So the drink of the day is the lemon jealous spreads. [SPEAKER_04]: So what is in this drink?

[SPEAKER_07]: So we need to get a chilled wine glass. [SPEAKER_07]: A shaker or other glassware for stirring. [SPEAKER_07]: You don't have to shake it. [SPEAKER_07]: There you go. [SPEAKER_07]: And then ice obviously for the shaker and stuff. [SPEAKER_07]: So you need an ounce of filo or any other dry per seco. [SPEAKER_07]: I like. [SPEAKER_07]: No, it's escaping my brain. [SPEAKER_04]: Anyway, you can see the label in front of you. [SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, dry per seco is good.

[SPEAKER_07]: It's room. [SPEAKER_07]: Uh, one and a half ounces of pollini, lemon cello liquor, which is the lemony flavored. [SPEAKER_07]: Yep. [SPEAKER_07]: And then two thirds of an ounce of soda water, Thomas. [SPEAKER_07]: Okay. [SPEAKER_07]: So the water and anything else. [SPEAKER_07]: And then slice of orange for garnish. [SPEAKER_10]: Got it. [SPEAKER_07]: See, pour everything into your shaker or ice-filled glass, which is bigger than your drink will be. [SPEAKER_04]: Got it.

[SPEAKER_04]: Don't shake it. [SPEAKER_07]: No, you just threw it gently. [SPEAKER_07]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_07]: And very gently, very pretty gently. [SPEAKER_07]: And then you pour it all into the portal into your wine glass and garnish it with an orange slice and [SPEAKER_07]: Look, be positive. [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_04]: Be positive, remember, be positive, not Sean positive.

[SPEAKER_04]: Of course, you know, if things do suck, you can be Sean positive because sometimes that actually makes you feel a little more positive because everything around you goes, what the hell, man? [SPEAKER_04]: And you go, I'm positive this sucks. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm being positive. [SPEAKER_07]: Oh Lamarka, that's the one. [SPEAKER_07]: That's my favorite per second. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, that is Lamarka. [SPEAKER_07]: That's a really good one. [SPEAKER_04]: I like that one too.

[SPEAKER_04]: Look, if you miss any of the drink of the day or any part of the evening here at the politics bar, like we said earlier, just subscribe to politics bar.com. [SPEAKER_04]: All right, back to the news on tap for the day. [SPEAKER_04]: There is some, I don't know, some decent news in the redistricting war. [SPEAKER_04]: So, so your governor in California, Mr. Newsome, decided he was going to have a little fun with Taco Trump.

[SPEAKER_07]: Oh my God, he's been trolling him like amazingly. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, it's, and he's, he's not just trolling him, because he's also trolling some of the people who are obviously doing the social media stuff. [SPEAKER_04]: But he did this, this ridiculous thing. [SPEAKER_04]: All caps post. [SPEAKER_04]: He says Donald.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, if you will not stand down Trump, I will be forced to lead an effort to redraw the maps in California to offset the rigging of the maps and red states. [SPEAKER_04]: But if the other states call off their redistricting efforts, we will happily do the same. [SPEAKER_04]: And American democracy will be better for it. [SPEAKER_04]: what is it, thank you for your attention to this matter. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I love that he's doing that. [SPEAKER_04]: Just pissing him off.

[SPEAKER_04]: Just do it. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: So it's one of those where you're like nice job. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Texas House Democrats, they may or may not return. [SPEAKER_04]: We have some feedback. [SPEAKER_04]: I haven't been able to catch you if they are not. [SPEAKER_04]: Look, as long as they can get back and stick this thing, put a stick in the wheels legislatively, until the end of, until basically after December eighth, it'll be fine.

[SPEAKER_04]: And obviously, these folks know what they're doing. [SPEAKER_04]: These folks used to be with the, they used to hang with Jasmine Crockett. [SPEAKER_04]: They are some very, some of these folks are really smart. [SPEAKER_04]: You've got, um, uh, Taloreco. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, he's great. [SPEAKER_04]: Did you see him on Fox the other day? [SPEAKER_07]: He was amazing.

[SPEAKER_04]: He totally owned Wilcane, who Wilcane is, I don't know if Wilcane is actually that stupid, or if he's just really good at playing stupid. [SPEAKER_04]: If you know actors, look, you have to be really smart to play really stupid. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, Mirasor Vino is freaking brilliant. [SPEAKER_07]: What's that singer said, like, if you can sing poorly, because you know how to sing.

[SPEAKER_04]: Right, singers, good singers are the only ones who can purposely sing bad because they know how to sing. [SPEAKER_04]: It's the same thing. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay. [SPEAKER_04]: So Wilcane, he's one of these. [SPEAKER_04]: He really did. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, God. [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, they're not really. [SPEAKER_07]: Because Dean is not using his actual last name. [SPEAKER_04]: So true. [SPEAKER_04]: And anyway, he's, he's an idiot.

[SPEAKER_04]: But tell where we go owned him on Fox here. [SPEAKER_04]: Let me put this on the DVR because it's worth listening to. [SPEAKER_04]: It's funny. [SPEAKER_01]: And then the air all Jerry Mandarin across the country. [SPEAKER_01]: And in fact, when Democrats had a majority in Congress, they voted to ban Jerry Mandarin in every state. [SPEAKER_01]: Red states and blue states, do you know how many Republican members of Congress joined them in that effort? [SPEAKER_01]: Which one?

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_01]: Which state did you just refer to? [SPEAKER_01]: I'm asking do you know how many Republicans joined Democrats in the U.S. [SPEAKER_01]: Congress to ban Jerry Mandarin all the Democrats voted for it. [SPEAKER_01]: Zero Republicans voted for it. [SPEAKER_01]: Zero. [SPEAKER_01]: It's an odd. [SPEAKER_01]: You can spare. [SPEAKER_00]: It's an odd. [SPEAKER_00]: It's an odd. [SPEAKER_00]: It's an odd. [SPEAKER_01]: It's an odd. [SPEAKER_01]: It's an odd.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's clearly one side that is trying to rig the rules in the middle of the game. [SPEAKER_01]: This is like two football teams come out of the locker room at halftime. [SPEAKER_01]: And the team that's ahead says they want to change the rules for the second half and they can win the game. [SPEAKER_01]: All of us would be throwing food up the TV. [SPEAKER_01]: If that happened, we don't accept cheating in our politics. [SPEAKER_01]: We don't accept cheating in our relationships.

[SPEAKER_01]: We shouldn't accept cheating in our elections. [SPEAKER_01]: You've been going. [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you very much James Taylor Reak. [SPEAKER_04]: He knows the stuff. [SPEAKER_04]: He's very good. [SPEAKER_04]: And he is one of the Texas State Democrats. [SPEAKER_04]: So look, they know what they're doing there. [SPEAKER_04]: Obviously, we will keep you updated as things keep moving forward.

[SPEAKER_07]: Well, I believe what they're saying to the governor and everybody else in their legislatures is like, hi, flood victims. [SPEAKER_07]: Can we just do that first? [SPEAKER_04]: That's exactly what they've said. [SPEAKER_04]: They've said, look, because Greg Abbott, the jerk, has decided that he said, well, you know, if you guys don't come back by Friday, well, then we're going to close that special session and we'll open another one right away.

[SPEAKER_04]: And those Texas Democrats have said, fine, we're a hundred percent willing to open another special session, so long as the very first thing that's on the list. [SPEAKER_04]: is the aid for the flood victims. [SPEAKER_04]: You want to do your little dog and pony show, find put it down the list. [SPEAKER_07]: But the first thing needs to be the flood aid for the victims, which is important for Democrats, especially in Texas, because the Republicans are not helping them.

[SPEAKER_04]: Republicans aren't doing a damn thing for the people that they're don't know. [SPEAKER_07]: I think he's still denying what, uh, female aid. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, as far as I know, hell, he's still denying aid in North Carolina. [SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, he's, he's a real peach.

[SPEAKER_04]: Uh, look, um, something that that is fairly obvious to all of us is that we've got to make sure to get out and elect Democrats at every level and in election lands, um, [SPEAKER_04]: Here's some interesting news. [SPEAKER_04]: Former Democratic Senator from Ohio, Sherrod Brown, has said that he is going to run for the U.S. [SPEAKER_04]: Senate in in twenty twenty six. [SPEAKER_04]: And I'm actually, I'm, I'm really glad that he is.

[SPEAKER_04]: I, I had my issues with, was shared over the years. [SPEAKER_04]: I've interacted with Connie, his wife, she's journalist, she's great over the years, many times. [SPEAKER_04]: mainly because I thought that that shared should go a little bit harder on some things that's if you if you do more detailed polling what you find for the most part it's not the democrats and people who vote democratic don't support the democratic party [SPEAKER_04]: They want Democrats to go harder.

[SPEAKER_04]: Carlos wants Cory Booker to go harder. [SPEAKER_04]: And Cory is going harder now. [SPEAKER_04]: I don't think Carlos is quite taking that in yet, but Democrats want Democratic voters want their Democratic elected leaders to go in as hard as Republicans are. [SPEAKER_04]: They want we want.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yes. [SPEAKER_04]: them to fight for us because that's why we elected them exactly why we elected them exactly so yeah so yeah with with that mind look shared is he's a great guy's great on policy he's you know and and while he is definitely more centrist then maybe I would like [SPEAKER_04]: It's in town and Trump is not going to be on the ballot. [SPEAKER_04]: And that is going to make a big difference. [SPEAKER_04]: That could make as much of a difference as four or five points.

[SPEAKER_04]: If that was the case the last time, um, shared probably a one. [SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, so that's that's a good thing. [SPEAKER_04]: Um, in fact, uh, uh, uh, uh, tiny Johnson admitted in a new interview. [SPEAKER_04]: I believe it was on Fox because that's the only place they feel safe to go. [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, that Republicans are actually terrified. [SPEAKER_04]: The Democrats will impeach Trump a third time. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, if Democrats were getting George.

[SPEAKER_07]: And if we get six to seven in the Senate, which we won't, but still if we did, [SPEAKER_04]: Look, it doesn't matter. [SPEAKER_04]: We, we absolutely, and there are, there are things that have, especially in this second regime that have come out. [SPEAKER_04]: So, yes, they're worried. [SPEAKER_04]: And that's why Republicans are trying to steal these seats in places like Texas and Ohio and Florida.

[SPEAKER_04]: because they're terrified because they know that they don't want any type of oversight. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that's a good word for it. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: If people really like their policies, they wouldn't have to jerry manner. [SPEAKER_07]: Welcome to California. [SPEAKER_07]: If people like the policies of Democrats are doing, they get reelected. [SPEAKER_07]: I don't like what they're doing.

[SPEAKER_04]: They don't get re-elected because we have to open up the boxes and dive back through the stuff from yet last year's election and find that because I'll see if I can find that ver next week or I don't know how the time and I but I do want to find that that big poll that I keep citing because I know it was there. [SPEAKER_04]: It was fantastic poll that said look [SPEAKER_04]: Americans overwhelmingly preferred Harris's policies to Trump's policies.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: And Americans in general prefer democratic policies to Republican policy. [SPEAKER_07]: They prefer Bernie Sanders over in Elizabeth Warren. [SPEAKER_07]: And I mean, these are the leftists. [SPEAKER_04]: The biggest, the biggest reason that that that people prefer in general. [SPEAKER_04]: I think Warren is a versus Sandersism is Sandersism has a little bit too much misogyny in it. [SPEAKER_07]: Well, yeah, I know, but the policies are the same.

[SPEAKER_04]: Pussies are almost identical. [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, but, you know, I don't care how much soginess it is. [SPEAKER_07]: It's still the same policies. [SPEAKER_07]: Well, yeah, and that's a lady person. [SPEAKER_04]: You're a need of fantastic lady person and we've got a guy person coming in. [SPEAKER_04]: Who do we know? [SPEAKER_07]: He's amazing. [SPEAKER_04]: He's amazing and he's a DC native Bob Cesca is coming in.

[SPEAKER_04]: We will talk about Tiny Donnie's little attempted takeover of DC and you know, find out whether there's actually crime or not trust me. [SPEAKER_04]: There's not, but Bob will confirm that he's coming in this next hour. [SPEAKER_04]: Look for imaginary man. [SPEAKER_04]: Come on back Wednesday night here at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_04]: We'll be right back after we pay some bills at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_04]: It's Wednesday night.

[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, Jody. [SPEAKER_04]: How you doing? [SPEAKER_07]: I'm okay. [SPEAKER_04]: You're okay. [SPEAKER_04]: I think you're better than okay. [SPEAKER_04]: I think you're fantastic. [SPEAKER_04]: Fantastic. [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_04]: Look, we like playing with our voices here and we like hanging out with you guys. [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you, by the way, for coming in and joining us from wherever you happen to be.

[SPEAKER_04]: One of that happens to be the detour talk in Christ in these area of Tennessee or AM-Nine-Fifty in Minneapolis, April. [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you for joining us, Twin Cities.

[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe you're listening on America one radio in Atlanta or WCPT in Chicago or maybe you are listening on progressive voices worldwide wherever you happen to be or maybe you are listening at a completely different time and it's not night in which case I don't know put on some sunscreen or something good Lord, but thank you for listening on the podcast.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's entirely possible they are outside right now, listening to us from when we're speaking now, but they're in the future and they're getting a sunburn. [SPEAKER_04]: So this is entirely possible. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, put on your sunscreen. [SPEAKER_07]: I mean, we got it. [SPEAKER_07]: We got to hope that everybody in Juneau Alaska is going to be okay. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, that's right. [SPEAKER_04]: That is in the news on tap today. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, check this one out.

[SPEAKER_04]: This is this is in the climate crisis section as it should be. [SPEAKER_04]: So the men in hall glacier, which used to be a great big thing. [SPEAKER_04]: And it has significantly drank thanks to climate change and it may flood Juno again. [SPEAKER_07]: People have evacuated good. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, they've done some evacuations, but it is. [SPEAKER_04]: And here's something that actually pertains to the folks in the California end of the bar.

[SPEAKER_04]: So you know that Newsom and California Democrats have been very good about regulating a lot of the climate stuff from California. [SPEAKER_04]: And they do it because manufacturers know the California is the world's fifth largest economy. [SPEAKER_04]: And so they set a lot of things, especially automobile manufacturers. [SPEAKER_04]: And the big semi trucks, the very large trucks had this deal. [SPEAKER_04]: And it was a private deal. [SPEAKER_04]: It wasn't anything.

[SPEAKER_04]: It was a private deal with the state of California and these manufacturers, the Trump FTC basically blackmailed. [SPEAKER_04]: Several of these companies and said, look, there's an anti-trust investigation against Volvo trucks and dimler trucks and they said, we will drop this and not go in and kick your ass legally and cost you millions of dollars legally. [SPEAKER_04]: If you drop your private agreement with the state of California. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's.

[SPEAKER_04]: They're going to have to be a lot of changes when we good folks get back in and that's definitely one of that kind of stuff. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: There is some good news in the entertainment section today. [SPEAKER_04]: Beyonce won her first prime time Emmy for her Beyonce bowl halftime show at this.

[SPEAKER_07]: See, when I read that, I'm like the Emmys aren't until September, but it was a jury selection, which is a totally different way to vote because I'm an Emmy vote who's a trust me. [SPEAKER_06]: Right. [SPEAKER_06]: I knew you knew this. [SPEAKER_06]: I knew you knew this. [SPEAKER_07]: So I was like, wait, and then the wait, you know, but she did. [SPEAKER_07]: She went for costume design.

[SPEAKER_04]: which I mean hey her costumes for that were great and she's amazing so and she's halfway to an egot so she's halfway exactly way which I'm like yeah that'd be that'd be really good um remember when uh the little league world series went trump and uh Steven Miller basically told the team for Venezuela who won the South American um uh little league world series that basically they couldn't come mm-hmm

[SPEAKER_04]: They caught enough hell from people like us, probably calling their Congress people and saying, what the hell man? [SPEAKER_04]: Let the kids play that they did give them visa exemptions. [SPEAKER_04]: So I believe they had their game. [SPEAKER_04]: I didn't I didn't catch the results of it. [SPEAKER_04]: I started one o'clock today. [SPEAKER_04]: I believe it was against Puerto Rico, but little league world series does begin today. [SPEAKER_04]: So [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, for that.

[SPEAKER_04]: For those of you in the AM nine fifty listening area if you are a twins fan you no longer have to worry because the Minnesota twins owners released a statement saying the team is no longer for sale. [SPEAKER_04]: So also having to be well, I mean, you know, look it's always a bad thing. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm, okay, I can't say it's always bad thing.

[SPEAKER_04]: It is sometimes a bad thing when your favorite sports team is bought by somebody else who has a completely different idea of how to win it. [SPEAKER_04]: Or they, or they just, they do things like, you know, some, some people understand. [SPEAKER_04]: Here's a perfect example. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, my dad lived in Denver. [SPEAKER_04]: Um, my dad lived there for twenty five, twenty six years, something like that. [SPEAKER_04]: My brother lives there now.

[SPEAKER_04]: My brother and sister-in-law and my my nieces. [SPEAKER_04]: They're great. [SPEAKER_04]: I should show you a picture of African hilarious kids. [SPEAKER_04]: Anyway, um, the folks in Denver, if you're listening to us in Denver, you know this. [SPEAKER_04]: What is the name of the great big NFL football stadium there? [SPEAKER_04]: Say it with me folks. [SPEAKER_04]: It's mile high.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay. [SPEAKER_04]: They sold the rights to, I think it was for a while in Vesco field or something and they tried to make everybody say it. [SPEAKER_04]: When something gets big enough like that, you don't have control over it. [SPEAKER_04]: No matter how important you think you are, how much money you spent for the team. [SPEAKER_04]: And the folks in Denver made it very clear.

[SPEAKER_04]: This was, God, this had to have been about thirty years ago or something. [SPEAKER_04]: And owner's change and they said, oh, we're going to sell the naming rights or whatever. [SPEAKER_04]: And the city as a whole, collectively went. [SPEAKER_07]: It's like for folks that live in New York City. [SPEAKER_07]: Six Avenue is six Avenue. [SPEAKER_04]: It's not Avenue of the Americas. [SPEAKER_07]: And that's been Avenue the Americas for over thirty years now.

[SPEAKER_04]: Right, like thirty five years. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh my God. [SPEAKER_07]: But no, it's six thousand. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's there are things that are in the public purview that do not belong to you. [SPEAKER_04]: No matter how much money you think you have. [SPEAKER_04]: And this is one of those things.

[SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, for people who are twins fans, I can understand their relief because whether or not they like the current ownership, at least they know the current ownership. [SPEAKER_04]: Look, I'm a national fan. [SPEAKER_04]: I would kind of like them to sell the team because since the nationals won the World Series back in twenty nineteen, the current owners have had this policy of we're not really going to spend any money.

[SPEAKER_04]: We're kind of trying to sell the team kind of like, you ever, you ever know somebody who [SPEAKER_04]: They're planning on moving. [SPEAKER_04]: And instead of putting the money into refurbing their house, they get, it's almost like they get mad at their house. [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, no, my neighbor down the street, she sold her house to a developer that still has yet, and that was years ago. [SPEAKER_04]: So as you have to do anything real. [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, he tore it down.

[SPEAKER_07]: So we haven't done a lot. [SPEAKER_07]: She, she houses down. [SPEAKER_07]: How long ago was less did she move? [SPEAKER_04]: Four years. [SPEAKER_04]: Good Lord. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, same kind of thing. [SPEAKER_04]: Look, they haven't put money into the nationals, but at least we know what the ownership around here does. [SPEAKER_04]: We know that they're not going to take the team.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's always a concern for people who live in the DC area because DC used to have a baseball team. [SPEAKER_04]: It got to take it away. [SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, I understand for the twins fans who are like, [SPEAKER_04]: That's that bullet. [SPEAKER_04]: So there you go. [SPEAKER_04]: Good news for you. [SPEAKER_04]: If you're tennis fan and we are we we talked about this person. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay. [SPEAKER_04]: Venus Williams. [SPEAKER_04]: She has a US open wild card spot.

[SPEAKER_04]: She is forty five. [SPEAKER_04]: She will be the oldest person in the singles tournament since nineteen eighty one when Renee Richards. [SPEAKER_04]: Trans tennis player was in as she was Renee Richards was forty seven. [SPEAKER_04]: So it's like, so I'm like, Hey, it's kind of cool. [SPEAKER_04]: Also Venus Williams has a new has a new Barbie. [SPEAKER_04]: She has her own Barbie. [SPEAKER_07]: I love that Barbie. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm like, that's awesome.

[SPEAKER_04]: So we got a picture of that that is in the news collage at the top of the page at the news on tap. [SPEAKER_04]: Just hold them up a little Barbie, which is very cool, which is awesome. [SPEAKER_04]: And Beyonce's looking on going, yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, there is good news out there in the world, folks. [SPEAKER_04]: You just, you have to look for it.

[SPEAKER_04]: And we do try to look for it for you, because [SPEAKER_04]: We also know how bad some of the other news is out there because some of it is just absolutely like frustrating like this one. [SPEAKER_04]: So in the rights war on LGBTQ people, the Minnesota teen says a random server to Buffalo Wildling's restaurant forced her to prove her gender in the restaurant bathroom.

[SPEAKER_04]: And if that headline discuss you as much as it does me, now you understand why this the whole idea of I'm going to check the gender. [SPEAKER_04]: Do you understand when when you say that you're going to have a law where somebody has to check somebody else's gender? [SPEAKER_04]: Do you actually understand what that means? [SPEAKER_04]: Especially if they're going to check the gender of a child. [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, she was a teen.

[SPEAKER_07]: She's an adult technically, but [SPEAKER_04]: Right, but still. [SPEAKER_07]: Honestly, I saw her picture and she's beautiful for sure. [SPEAKER_07]: And secondly, this server needs to be fired out of the canon, preferably across the parking lot. [SPEAKER_04]: No, that's not to that. [SPEAKER_07]: But no, she needs this woman needs to lose her job. [SPEAKER_07]: And then this other eighteen-year-old woman now, because technically, eighteen is a woman. [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[SPEAKER_07]: Really isn't custom-tool or twilight long, right? [SPEAKER_03]: No, I get it. [SPEAKER_04]: She had to flash her boobs. [SPEAKER_04]: But I'm like, that's, that is not, that's not the job of some random sort of, when I go to whatever restaurant. [SPEAKER_04]: I don't want to go into whatever restaurant it is, whether I'm going to Chipotle or whatever. [SPEAKER_04]: I need to use the restroom and somebody stops me and says, hey, pardon me a second.

[SPEAKER_04]: I need to, you know, pull up into drawers so I can see your junk. [SPEAKER_07]: No. [SPEAKER_07]: And by the way, when she was accosted by this server, she was in a stall. [SPEAKER_07]: It wasn't like she was doing anything else. [SPEAKER_07]: She was in the stall. [SPEAKER_07]: Hello. [SPEAKER_07]: Hello. [SPEAKER_07]: So we need to see what's in there. [SPEAKER_07]: Door closed because I've been to ladies' restrooms and men's, by the way.

[SPEAKER_07]: And [SPEAKER_04]: It's strong clubs, right? [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: You're in a stall by yourself. [SPEAKER_04]: Right. [SPEAKER_04]: That is not a time to be disturbing anybody. [SPEAKER_04]: You're in a stall. [SPEAKER_04]: Just no, no, no. [SPEAKER_07]: It's just, it's just, it ain't when I saw that and Troy, Climer talked about it today and a bunch of people. [SPEAKER_04]: We have a great piece from her on that.

[SPEAKER_04]: It is, it is in the news on tap section in the, the war on LGBTQ people. [SPEAKER_04]: She has a great thing about if same sex marriage is overturned. [SPEAKER_04]: And it actually points out how Joe Biden and Kamal Harris and a couple of legislators, few of our Democratic senators actually planned for this. [SPEAKER_04]: It's not, it wouldn't be great if the Supreme Court did it, but there are some back stops in there too. [SPEAKER_04]: So I understand.

[SPEAKER_04]: And there's, I'm not saying that we shouldn't fight for it because by God, you know, marriage is marriage. [SPEAKER_04]: And that's just how it is, whether anybody else likes it or not, that's how it is. [SPEAKER_04]: That said, [SPEAKER_04]: We also should not bow to domerism.

[SPEAKER_04]: We shouldn't, we shouldn't, you know, we shouldn't all become chicken little's and go, oh my god, this guy is falling and, you know, the small little thing becomes it is something that we are very good at on the left is because we have active imaginations. [SPEAKER_04]: We can imagine the worst. [SPEAKER_04]: And sometimes we plan for it when we get the chance and that's great. [SPEAKER_04]: But we also have to remember that that is our imagination.

[SPEAKER_04]: And yes, sometimes your imagination runs away with you and you have to kind of let it do its thing and calm down by itself before you can get some good sleep, which I will get tonight. [SPEAKER_04]: But the fact is that there are some people who we elected who saw ahead. [SPEAKER_04]: And that's actually it's [SPEAKER_04]: It's kind of a story, but I want to say it's a good story, but it's definitely in an informative and helpful story. [SPEAKER_04]: You should check that out.

[SPEAKER_04]: It is in the news on tap. [SPEAKER_04]: At the politics part, I come in the war on immigration. [SPEAKER_04]: There's another piece of better news. [SPEAKER_04]: Federal judges ruled against ICE saying they must improve conditions in New York City migrant holding cells, which is very nice. [SPEAKER_04]: We're very glad that that look. [SPEAKER_04]: The law, the judges, the lawyers, they're not going to save us from everything.

[SPEAKER_04]: They're simply not going to save us from all of this stuff. [SPEAKER_04]: But when they do some good stuff, it's great. [SPEAKER_04]: Unfortunately, they also did a bad thing out. [SPEAKER_04]: Some members of Congress went to an ice processing center in California, and the processing center was empty. [SPEAKER_07]: Nothing to see here. [SPEAKER_07]: Because you, what, seventy two hours notice for that?

[SPEAKER_04]: They had to give them, I think, fourteen days notice, I think I heard something like that. [SPEAKER_04]: It's like, give me a break, man. [SPEAKER_04]: So that's, look, we're in the middle of a fight folks. [SPEAKER_04]: So don't expect you to be resolved, just resolve to keep fighting. [SPEAKER_04]: That's how that goes. [SPEAKER_04]: All right. [SPEAKER_04]: All right. [SPEAKER_04]: Look, it is a Wednesday night. [SPEAKER_04]: We got some more fun coming up.

[SPEAKER_04]: We have, in fact, Bob Ceska coming in to the bar, which is always good. [SPEAKER_04]: Bob can tell us about some of the fun he had out in Vegas at the Star Trek convention. [SPEAKER_04]: I know you and him have talked about a little on his show already. [SPEAKER_04]: We'll be talking a little more about it here.

[SPEAKER_04]: I think of course he can also give everybody the skinny on whether or not DC is in fact a smoking smoldering Hulk of a war zone like L.A. [SPEAKER_04]: was because you were telling us how bad you how bomb battle oh wait no not at all. [SPEAKER_07]: No we're still cooking smorers on that one way mouth from June. [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_04]: Bob will tell us where we can get some good smorers or maybe some good hot dogs in the districts. [SPEAKER_04]: Bob will be in next.

[SPEAKER_04]: Bob says to come again to politics more on Wednesday night. [SPEAKER_04]: Very glad that you and me and Jody are all hanging out. [SPEAKER_04]: Look, get yourself another round of drinks and you know, if you got to use the facilities, down hall, whatever. [SPEAKER_04]: Look, we end the please. [SPEAKER_04]: You and you please come right back. [SPEAKER_10]: We'll be right back after we pay some bills at the politics bar.

[SPEAKER_03]: Wednesday night here at the politics bar and of course Beaming in now. [SPEAKER_03]: It's the one and only Bob seska idea of a Pope Bob like whoa Pope Bob you have been to back in from Star Trek Vegas. [SPEAKER_04]: How you doing man? [SPEAKER_05]: Great, great. [SPEAKER_05]: You know, I'm still kind of buzzing from the weekend at Star Trek Las Vegas at the Rio.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: And God, what a, you know, look, I understand, yes, it's a Star Trek convention and everyone shows up wearing their Star Trek gear and getting their autographs and things like that, but especially now with the kind of real world we live in. [SPEAKER_05]: The joy and optimism and inclusiveness and diversity of events like this, you can't put a price tag on it. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I know. [SPEAKER_05]: Creation Entertainment sells tickets.

[SPEAKER_05]: That's how they do these things. [SPEAKER_05]: I get the capitalism of these conventions, but at the same time, there's an extraordinarily valuable benefit. [SPEAKER_05]: to being there. [SPEAKER_05]: And while I was nervous about flying for obvious reasons, Sean Duffy. [SPEAKER_06]: So the fact that it was right. [SPEAKER_06]: Right. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, but once I got there once I arrived, it was like I never left from last year. [SPEAKER_05]: And it was the same.

[SPEAKER_05]: I saw lots of familiar faces, not only in terms of the Star Trek actors and crew members and things like that, but also people who were there last year wearing their cosplay uniforms. [SPEAKER_05]: And just I wanted to live there. [SPEAKER_04]: I know it's it is part of your community. [SPEAKER_04]: We're part of your community. [SPEAKER_04]: That's part of your community too. [SPEAKER_04]: This bar is built on community.

[SPEAKER_04]: This is a community for everybody who's here and everybody we bring into the bar from everywhere and Star Trek is a big part of your personal community. [SPEAKER_04]: And that's that's how we're all going to get through. [SPEAKER_04]: However long this disaster is with Trump is mainly because Bob's a nerd. [SPEAKER_05]: I'm a bigger. [SPEAKER_05]: You can see behind me. [SPEAKER_05]: I don't know if you're doing video. [SPEAKER_04]: Yes. [SPEAKER_04]: I get soon soon.

[SPEAKER_04]: But look, look. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: There's nothing wrong with, you know, things that make you happy and positive. [SPEAKER_04]: We were talking about this with the drink the day. [SPEAKER_04]: So I, I mentioned this went on the way in and you're like, what is it? [SPEAKER_04]: What is a Sean positive thing? [SPEAKER_04]: Okay. [SPEAKER_04]: We talked about the drink the day. [SPEAKER_04]: I'll refresh it for those of you who are just coming into the bar.

[SPEAKER_04]: Sean positive is concept. [SPEAKER_04]: My wife came up with because sometimes, you know, even I'm, I tend to be positive. [SPEAKER_04]: I can be a little bit negative at times, you know, or more realistic, whatever. [SPEAKER_04]: And so she would say to me, this is even like starting when we first dated. [SPEAKER_04]: I'd get a little negative and she'd be like, you need to be positive about that. [SPEAKER_04]: Because I'd say, man, that sucks.

[SPEAKER_04]: And she'd say, you need to be positive. [SPEAKER_04]: And I'd say, I'm positive that sucks. [SPEAKER_04]: So that's being shown positive. [SPEAKER_04]: So if you can't be positive, be shown positive because you know. [SPEAKER_05]: Well, I hate to break it to you, Sean, but you're just using the word positive. [SPEAKER_05]: You're not actually being positive. [SPEAKER_05]: I just found a loophole in Sean positive. [SPEAKER_03]: I am being positive. [SPEAKER_03]: I am being positive.

[SPEAKER_03]: I am being positive. [SPEAKER_03]: I am positive that that thing sucks. [SPEAKER_05]: That means you're certain that that thing sucks. [SPEAKER_05]: That's what you're saying. [SPEAKER_03]: Just because there's multiple meanings of the word positive does not discount the fact of me being positive. [SPEAKER_05]: All right. [SPEAKER_05]: I'll let you know what. [SPEAKER_05]: I'm just going to let you have it. [SPEAKER_05]: I'll let you have it. [SPEAKER_03]: Thank you.

[SPEAKER_03]: I get to win that one. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_04]: Actually, my wife gets ruined because she's the one who came up with that concept. [SPEAKER_04]: So I think it's pretty good. [SPEAKER_04]: But yes, it's, you know, it's one of those kind of things where it looks semantics matter. [SPEAKER_04]: Facts matter. [SPEAKER_04]: Obviously, the big fact that we're talking about, I lived in DC on and off since twenty ten.

[SPEAKER_04]: Now, live in South Florida for three and a half years, whatever. [SPEAKER_04]: You were born in DC. [SPEAKER_04]: You've been living in the DC Metro on and off for what? [SPEAKER_04]: Like probably two thirds and four senior life. [SPEAKER_05]: Well, I live there for the first eighteen years of my life, and then through summers, and when I was in college, and then I moved on to Pennsylvania in a couple of other places.

[SPEAKER_05]: But now I'm back there, and then they're coming up on ten years now. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: And so while I'm not specifically living inside the boundaries of the district, I consider that home. [SPEAKER_05]: And someone asked me where I'm from, I say, Washington, D.C. [SPEAKER_05]: Right, and it's a beautiful city. [SPEAKER_05]: I love this city. [SPEAKER_05]: I love it from end to end. [SPEAKER_05]: I love its diversity.

[SPEAKER_05]: I love the obviously the national mall area and the museums and the art galleries and the food and the music. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, my God. [SPEAKER_05]: Yes, and so many wonderful things about DC and so many great, I mean, you mentioned the music, so many great bands emerged out of DC and [SPEAKER_05]: recording artists and I hate and I know a lot of people who lived in Los Angeles felt this way too about their town, Jodie. [SPEAKER_04]: You said anything, Jodie?

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: When Donald sent in the National Guard and the Marines and everything like that, you feel like your home is being invaded. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: And that's the way I feel right now.

[SPEAKER_05]: And obviously there's a considerable dimension of [SPEAKER_05]: immense racism about this given especially the population the majority population in and and by extension the very fact that Donald Trump lost DC in all three elections that he ran in [SPEAKER_05]: by like man, hopefully got single. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, but wasn't able to break single dead digits. [SPEAKER_05]: Hillary Clinton, ninety percent of the vote. [SPEAKER_05]: Joe Biden got ninety two percent of the vote.

[SPEAKER_05]: Kamala Harris got ninety percent of the vote in Washington, G. C. And I think that's a big reason why he's doing this because did you see the video? [SPEAKER_04]: Did you see the video? [SPEAKER_04]: It's viral. [SPEAKER_04]: The sound wasn't so great. [SPEAKER_04]: So I didn't grab it for us, but there was a group of these. [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know what the hell you want to call them, roaming Trump idiots. [SPEAKER_04]: White guy.

[SPEAKER_04]: Go. [SPEAKER_04]: And and right and going down. [SPEAKER_04]: The guy who's filming it is black and his friend is black. [SPEAKER_04]: He's sitting in a chair on his little concrete area outside the door and his friend is just sitting on the suit. [SPEAKER_04]: But they're sitting there smoking and talking like what you do. [SPEAKER_04]: You know, because that's what you do. [SPEAKER_04]: It's outside your house.

[SPEAKER_04]: You sit and these, these, I don't know what you want to call them. [SPEAKER_04]: Doosh bags, mocking douche bags. [SPEAKER_04]: That works. [SPEAKER_07]: I have so many words that we can't say. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, exactly. [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_04]: Pretend fascists and only they're actually real fascists. [SPEAKER_04]: But anyway, so that they come up and they're like, well, you know, Donald Trump doesn't like this smoking and drinking on your step and everything.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's like dude. [SPEAKER_04]: It's he goes, you know, what can I see some ID in the guy's like, this is my house. [SPEAKER_04]: I don't have my ID on me because I'm sitting outside my. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, exactly. [SPEAKER_04]: Uh-huh. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: And the guy's like, well, well, you know what, I'll see you're smoking. [SPEAKER_04]: And I thought I smelled something funny.

[SPEAKER_04]: It's like, among other things, even if he had, uh, it's legal in DC to smoke weed on your own property. [SPEAKER_04]: Don't just hear harassment. [SPEAKER_04]: And it's a bunch. [SPEAKER_04]: It's a bunch of douchebag middle-aged white guys walking around nothing better to do than to piss off a bunch of black people in their own neighborhood in front of their own house. [SPEAKER_04]: Right. [SPEAKER_04]: Right. [SPEAKER_04]: Right.

[SPEAKER_07]: It's been it's been noted that the cities that he's coming after or has come after all or run by, well, at this point, two women, two black women. [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, but let's go after Chicago. [SPEAKER_04]: Don't cry out at majority cities. [SPEAKER_04]: Right. [SPEAKER_04]: Man. [SPEAKER_07]: And I mean, he wants to go after Oakland. [SPEAKER_07]: He wants to go after all these cities that are black and it's just [SPEAKER_04]: It's Bob said it. [SPEAKER_04]: It's racist.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Of course it is. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: And it's. [SPEAKER_05]: And I assure you, he's not sending the National Guard to Northwest G. C. No. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, God. [SPEAKER_05]: No. [SPEAKER_05]: To the multi million dollar robes and places like that. [SPEAKER_05]: You're not seeing that. [SPEAKER_05]: I'm sure he's sending everyone into southeast and you know, I just. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, yeah.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I mean, because it's all racial profiling this year's here's the thing. [SPEAKER_04]: He can't he can't do a damn thing about it. [SPEAKER_04]: Look, they most of them don't have weapons. [SPEAKER_04]: They are not allowed to to arrest people. [SPEAKER_04]: He can only control the DC police for thirty days and then Congress and it has to be one of those where the Senate would need sixty because you could fill a buster it.

[SPEAKER_04]: And he ain't going to get sixty votes for this to do that. [SPEAKER_04]: So he can only control the DC police for thirty years. [SPEAKER_04]: He can have the national guard there as long as he wants. [SPEAKER_04]: But we're actually just an hour one. [SPEAKER_04]: You know, General Mark Hurtling, former General retired now. [SPEAKER_04]: He was saying this online last night. [SPEAKER_04]: This is this is one of those BS assignments. [SPEAKER_04]: They call them presence patrols.

[SPEAKER_07]: Malcolm talking about that. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, exactly. [SPEAKER_04]: We talked about it with Malcolm before. [SPEAKER_04]: And hurtling was saying, he says, if you don't have a task and a purpose, presence of forces, doesn't do anything. [SPEAKER_04]: And the National Guard now is literally stating they're doing presence patrol in DC. [SPEAKER_04]: It's a total waste of time and resources and energy. [SPEAKER_04]: It turns morale down.

[SPEAKER_04]: It is absolutely one of the dumbest things. [SPEAKER_04]: And that's on top of this whole trial that's been going on. [SPEAKER_04]: Day three was today. [SPEAKER_04]: We hadn't we haven't checked again. [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if you saw it. [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, David, Posse Comotata's trial going on from where Newsom and and Trump are going at each other. [SPEAKER_04]: Have you seen them?

[SPEAKER_04]: Yes. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay. [SPEAKER_04]: Did you see any updates before you got to the bar today? [SPEAKER_04]: Cause I had no I did not. [SPEAKER_04]: No, no, no. [SPEAKER_04]: I didn't know if he passed by TV and seen something or, but that last chapter, the Trump side wasn't doing well. [SPEAKER_04]: Mainly because they can't prove why they think California law enforcement couldn't handle the issues, couldn't handle the testing a smore over that one waymo car.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: And it's tenth amendment issues. [SPEAKER_04]: It stands right. [SPEAKER_04]: Of course. [SPEAKER_05]: And it really doesn't matter. [SPEAKER_05]: Now, does it? [SPEAKER_05]: because Donald got what he wanted out of it. [SPEAKER_05]: He rattled some cages right he did the invasion and he got whatever brownie points he was going to get out of that from his base and from the maga entertainment complex.

[SPEAKER_05]: So now he's moving on and I think that also reveals [SPEAKER_05]: Maybe some light at the end of the tunnel that perhaps this won't last in perpetuity, that much like Los Angeles, he may get bored and just end up withdrawing everybody or complying with the law once no one's talking about anymore. [SPEAKER_05]: after the thirty day period of time. [SPEAKER_05]: I mean, I know today, he said something to the effect of, well, it's a national emergency.

[SPEAKER_05]: I can do whatever I want. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, that's not. [SPEAKER_04]: It's not. [SPEAKER_04]: It's not. [SPEAKER_04]: No, and he, and he can't not be on the thirty days. [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, he can guess he could have an actual guard there, but they can't do anything. [SPEAKER_04]: And it's just, it is absolutely ass-in-ine what he is doing. [SPEAKER_04]: But I do think you're right. [SPEAKER_04]: We talked about this earlier, too.

[SPEAKER_04]: Going through the news on tap, they seem to have actually started to realize that there are some [SPEAKER_04]: Walls. [SPEAKER_04]: We talked about this yesterday. [SPEAKER_04]: You remember a Billy Long who is the IRS commissioner for all of two months? [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, right. [SPEAKER_05]: One of the sixth IRS commissioner in the last five months. [SPEAKER_04]: Six since the beginning of the year.

[SPEAKER_04]: The funny thing is, Billy Long typical corrupt Southern politician. [SPEAKER_04]: But, and I'm not saying he's proven corrupt. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm saying he's just assumed to be corrupt. [SPEAKER_04]: I can't prove it. [SPEAKER_04]: But even he said, look, the law says that I can't just dull out the IRS data to the douchebags or whoever it is, ice that wants to go after these people. [SPEAKER_04]: That's why they fired him. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, now you've got something similar.

[SPEAKER_04]: So, a commerce secretary, Howard Nutley, I mean, Lutnik. [SPEAKER_04]: God, I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_07]: Sean Louise. [SPEAKER_04]: Look, I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_04]: I see his name, and I think of Lindsey Graham, just saying. [SPEAKER_04]: Anyway. [SPEAKER_04]: So, Commer Secretary Latinid confirmed to the census workers that Congress has the final say over the count of the census, not Trump, and that undocumented people must be counted.

[SPEAKER_04]: They're hitting their hitting the Constitution. [SPEAKER_04]: And that seems to be the wall where they're running up against it, where they're going, we're going to blatantly violate everything up to a tenth of a millimeter of the Constitution. [SPEAKER_04]: We will set everything fire, but doing that, we're not quite sure we could get away with that yet. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, right, right. [SPEAKER_05]: Well, that's a, that's just it.

[SPEAKER_05]: They're testing the boundaries and norms and constitutional strictures of our system. [SPEAKER_05]: And that's where Donald operates. [SPEAKER_05]: That's exactly where you find Donald testing the fences or tens, like the, the velociraptors of the racically. [SPEAKER_06]: Only he's not as smart as they are. [SPEAKER_05]: No, he's not really not, but that's his instinctive move is to do that.

[SPEAKER_05]: Certainly to ignore the unwritten rules of the presidency, but also push the boundaries of the actual written rules, knowing that anyone who tries to stop him will be intimidated, including members of the Supreme Court, like Amy Coney Barrett. [SPEAKER_06]: Right. [SPEAKER_05]: Right. [SPEAKER_05]: She certainly snapped into line after whatever was people sending pizzas to her house and things like that. [SPEAKER_05]: Maybe.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Then people should not be doing that, by the way. [SPEAKER_04]: It doesn't like them either, but don't be don't be doing that. [SPEAKER_04]: We said this yesterday when we had Carlos in, do not throw chairs. [SPEAKER_04]: There are things that we can do to intimidate them as well. [SPEAKER_04]: They, I mean, and piss them off. [SPEAKER_04]: Do you see what Newsom was doing? [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: He's just going. [SPEAKER_05]: Yes, yeah.

[SPEAKER_05]: And he's giving Donald some of his own medicine, essentially with those all. [SPEAKER_05]: They can't take it. [SPEAKER_04]: They can't take it out. [SPEAKER_04]: They can't take it. [SPEAKER_04]: And I love to see that. [SPEAKER_04]: I absolutely freaking lootly love to see that, especially when they admit the truth. [SPEAKER_04]: We have this in the elections land section of the news on tap today. [SPEAKER_04]: Speaker Johnson, I believe Tiny Johnson was talking to Fox.

[SPEAKER_04]: And although I guess we're all kind of used to tiny Johnson's talking on South Park now, but anyway, tiny Johnson was talking to Fox and he admitted that Republicans are terrified that Democrats will impeach Trump a third time if they were going to threaten me with a good time. [SPEAKER_05]: I don't know how it's avoidable. [SPEAKER_05]: I think it's absolutely something that's going to happen. [SPEAKER_05]: Every day there's a new abuse of power, if not multiple abuses of power.

[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, impeachment were the abuses of power. [SPEAKER_05]: Yes, absolutely. [SPEAKER_05]: It's to ignore all of that and try to move on because we're going to leave the past in the past. [SPEAKER_05]: That's not what certainly what mainstream Democrats want.

[SPEAKER_05]: I think no. [SPEAKER_05]: everyone is demanding not only more fighting words like we're hearing from Gavin Newsom but once we do acquire some sort of power hopefully next year and into twenty twenty seven that they're actually going to start trying to do whatever they can to repair the damage and to reverse some of these things and you know obviously I'm biting off more than I can chew I should probably not get my hopes up for this

[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think you're writing up more than you could chew. [SPEAKER_04]: I think the watchwords need to be accountability and affordability. [SPEAKER_04]: And if any Democrat is running, including ones who are already there, who are not willing to assertively stand up. [SPEAKER_04]: And maybe you should be for three A's, maybe should be AAA. [SPEAKER_04]: Assertability, accountability, and affordability. [SPEAKER_04]: Stand up. [SPEAKER_04]: Don't be a coward.

[SPEAKER_04]: My God, you gotta make sure that they pay for what they did. [SPEAKER_04]: And oh, by the way, let's make it affordable live here. [SPEAKER_04]: And I think that would be, you know, call a AAA, whatever. [SPEAKER_04]: Hey, look, can you watch stick around for last call, Bob? [SPEAKER_04]: Of course I can. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, all right. [SPEAKER_04]: We are God. [SPEAKER_04]: We got one more round. [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, we are God. [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, I've had a few.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, it's Wednesday night. [SPEAKER_04]: You should have another one too. [SPEAKER_04]: Come on back with Jody and Bob and me. [SPEAKER_04]: It's the politics bar on a Wednesday night. [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you for being here. [SPEAKER_10]: We'll be right back after we pay some bills at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe you missed something to show earlier. [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe you missed the drink of the day.

[SPEAKER_04]: The best thing you can do is subscribe to the politicsbar.com. [SPEAKER_04]: Six dollars a month. [SPEAKER_04]: It is the lowest cover charge anywhere in the nation gets you the podcast ad free gets you that drink of the day. [SPEAKER_04]: And I will throw in the news on tap for free. [SPEAKER_04]: It's all there. [SPEAKER_04]: Check out the politics bar.

[SPEAKER_04]: All right, Bob Cesca, I gotta ask this one here because I know you were there at the trek convention in Vegas and I know Mary Trump was there and you guys had a big trek politics panel that went on for like four hours. [SPEAKER_05]: Unfortunately, it was only an hour plus some Q and A afterwards, which was handed it even longer. [SPEAKER_05]: And then plus there were some listeners of my show who showed up and I got to talk to them and meet with them.

[SPEAKER_05]: And they had some little gifts and things for me, which is great. [SPEAKER_05]: But yeah, it was a wonderful spending time with Mary. [SPEAKER_05]: I hadn't met Mary in person until this past weekend. [SPEAKER_05]: And we ended up spending that. [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, she did it virtually correct. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, yeah, she was on via zoom.

[SPEAKER_05]: I think she was a little concerned because her uncle had just been in that situation in Butler, Pennsylvania, and she wasn't sure if she was endangered in some way if people were coming after anyone. [SPEAKER_05]: But so yeah, so we spent all day Sunday together hanging out and having a couple of meals and doing the panel and walking with love with love. [SPEAKER_04]: If it's possible, you guys bring track politics back. [SPEAKER_04]: I know. [SPEAKER_04]: I know.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I just really want to. [SPEAKER_05]: And I know she does too. [SPEAKER_05]: OK. [SPEAKER_05]: OK. [SPEAKER_05]: Well, it's just a matter of scheduling. [SPEAKER_04]: When and if that's possible, let us know. [SPEAKER_04]: And then, you know, one of the days you come to the bar, maybe just, you know, bring Mary along and be like, hey, come see my friends, because that would be perfection. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: It sounds great.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I'm dying to because we, uh, we also talk to a lot of Star Trek actors and crew members. [SPEAKER_05]: Well, you brought the entire weekend. [SPEAKER_05]: Tim Russell, as always, Tim Russ is one of the best and I did. [SPEAKER_04]: Did you see, did you see, did you see, stash? [SPEAKER_04]: Cause I had a Todd stash week. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I talked to Todd, Todd stash week a little bit on Saturday. [SPEAKER_05]: He had to leave a little bit early.

[SPEAKER_05]: He was just off shooting the vision series with Terry Metales, who were Marvel. [SPEAKER_05]: And it was just announced that Todd stash week is going to be playing the Cartoon, the comic book character Paladin. [SPEAKER_05]: in the vision series. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, they announced that on Saturday.

[SPEAKER_05]: It was terrible because I was on the airplane on my way to Star Trek Las Vegas right when they were doing Terry Matales and Todd Stashwick did their panel and they had lots of questions about Terry's new project. [SPEAKER_05]: This Marvel series about vision. [SPEAKER_05]: And I was like, oh, why can't this plane go faster? [SPEAKER_05]: I want to get there. [SPEAKER_05]: I had serious fear of missing out. [SPEAKER_05]: FOMO. [SPEAKER_05]: The panel was happening.

[SPEAKER_05]: Unfortunately, I was there for plenty of other panels that I could see and be on time for. [SPEAKER_07]: And my friend Bruce Kielick was there from Kiss. [SPEAKER_05]: Chris Gullick was there, Nick Carter from the back street boys was there. [SPEAKER_05]: I know he was on the floor. [SPEAKER_05]: Not as a not as a not signing autographs, right? [SPEAKER_05]: And he's just there as a fan.

[SPEAKER_05]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_05]: So I got to tell I got to hang out with Mary McDonald from Battlestar Galactica. [SPEAKER_05]: Gats before she was an Academy Award nominee for that. [SPEAKER_04]: And I got to meet this beautiful person from what I've heard. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, yes. [SPEAKER_05]: I got to meet Edward James almost. [SPEAKER_05]: No, no, no, no, no. [SPEAKER_04]: He's done so many things. [SPEAKER_04]: He's fantastic actor. [SPEAKER_05]: And he was such a nice guy.

[SPEAKER_05]: I mean, yeah, he had so many complimentary things to say to Mary as well to Mary's from. [SPEAKER_05]: So yeah, it was just an endless blast. [SPEAKER_05]: And you know, the sad thing about it is, [SPEAKER_05]: when everyone starts to go home on Sunday and the Rio starts to look just like a regular casino hotel. [SPEAKER_06]: Right. [SPEAKER_05]: There's something sad about that. [SPEAKER_05]: I was like, no, where are you going? [SPEAKER_05]: Stay. [SPEAKER_05]: Come on.

[SPEAKER_05]: I want to live here. [SPEAKER_05]: This is not that I want to live in a casino, but I want to live at a Star Trek convention where, as I was saying before, there is this, such, there's this unified vibe. [SPEAKER_05]: where everyone feels as though they're completely comfortable with who they are, there's no persecution, there's no Donald Trump, there's no awfulness, there's no ugliness, it's just pure joy and you know, you want that to go on forever and ever and ever.

[SPEAKER_04]: That's how we get through all of this. [SPEAKER_04]: I still remember, Rhonda from Erie. [SPEAKER_04]: And if you're listening Rhonda, you can get a hold of us anytime dear. [SPEAKER_04]: I will absolutely, we will bring you into the bar at any point in time. [SPEAKER_04]: She's brilliant, but Rhonda was a regular listener for the Randy Roadshow. [SPEAKER_04]: Rhonda, I happen to know some of her background.

[SPEAKER_04]: I won't let it out, but she's extremely intelligent, highly accredited. [SPEAKER_04]: And as she was as Randy was writing down her show, and people were worried as the Trump regime has started to do more of the kind of things. [SPEAKER_04]: And she said, look, the key to getting through this for all of us good people is community. [SPEAKER_04]: It is community.

[SPEAKER_04]: Whatever your community is, whether your community is local, whether your community is Star Trek fans, whether your community is Lord of the Rings fans, whether your community is Swifties, Taylor Swift fans, or maybe your favorite NFL team or your Dodgers. [SPEAKER_04]: Whatever your community is, that's how we get through all of this is our communities.

[SPEAKER_04]: And I think it is more important than ever that people realize, yeah, a little thunder in this area the bar here, but I think it's more important than ever that people pay attention to [SPEAKER_04]: They give some of their energy to helping their community. [SPEAKER_04]: We had Carlos in yesterday and I know that there are some of you out there aren't always the biggest fan because you don't always disagree with everything Carlos says or whatever.

[SPEAKER_04]: Look, I don't agree with everything everybody else says. [SPEAKER_04]: But this community is fantastic. [SPEAKER_04]: We are diverse. [SPEAKER_04]: We are unique. [SPEAKER_04]: Everybody who comes to the bar [SPEAKER_04]: And just like your Star Trek community, there are a lot of great people. [SPEAKER_04]: You want to live in the community. [SPEAKER_04]: But it's only one part of the facet of your neighborhood.

[SPEAKER_04]: This is, you know, we hope for everybody listening that the politics bar is your neighborhood bar wherever you happen to be. [SPEAKER_04]: We want to be your community bar, and that's great. [SPEAKER_04]: but you need to put the energy into your community. [SPEAKER_04]: You gotta do whatever it takes. [SPEAKER_04]: And that means working on stuff in your local community too.

[SPEAKER_04]: Working on your politics there, working on stuff at the state level, working on stuff to some degree to national level. [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, we do national politics because our bar covers literally the entire US and the whole world, because you can listen to us from anywhere. [SPEAKER_07]: We have Ukrainian's listening to us. [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_04]: You can listen to us.

[SPEAKER_04]: Right. [SPEAKER_04]: Space Station if you wanted to, although that doesn't show up in the numbers, but anyway. [SPEAKER_04]: But wherever you happen to be listening, it's a big bar. [SPEAKER_04]: So we're diverse. [SPEAKER_04]: But you got to still focus on your own local stuff. [SPEAKER_04]: And this is this is the thing that to me. [SPEAKER_04]: So shared Brown. [SPEAKER_04]: Um, I had some issues with the modern off, but I love.

[SPEAKER_04]: I in general, I think he was a good senator. [SPEAKER_04]: He's running again. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm sure you've heard Bob. [SPEAKER_04]: He's running again. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: And, you know, there is a difference of people between, um, you know, you got your Gavin Newsom. [SPEAKER_04]: You got your, uh, Zoran M. Danny. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, my God. [SPEAKER_04]: We had, we, uh, we played Zoran's latest ad. [SPEAKER_04]: Have you seen that yet, Bob?

[SPEAKER_04]: No, I have not know. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, check that out. [SPEAKER_04]: It's on the. [SPEAKER_04]: I think it's on our blue sky feed. [SPEAKER_04]: I think I think I reposted it from there yesterday. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, you've got the whole range of Democrats, but there are so many important races. [SPEAKER_04]: We don't even wait till till twenty six. [SPEAKER_04]: Look, we've got governors races in the Virginia part of the bar here.

[SPEAKER_04]: We've got Virginia. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, we got to races in New Jersey. [SPEAKER_04]: We've got local races all over the place. [SPEAKER_04]: You know, you got to pay attention to that type of stuff that's in your local community as well. [SPEAKER_05]: So yeah, and you know what speaking of community, you can get involved with Democratic politics even down to your precinct area and certainly in county Democratic politics and yet involved.

[SPEAKER_05]: I know there are lots of outside organizations that also are involved with activating and [SPEAKER_05]: And then rallying and organizing and messaging and things like that. [SPEAKER_05]: So these are all right in your fingertips. [SPEAKER_05]: And yeah, I can't emphasize it enough.

[SPEAKER_05]: How wonderful it is to go to a place where you can talk about the things that you're passionate about and get outraged and not have to worry about, you know, offending someone or getting beaten up or [SPEAKER_05]: getting bullied or anything like that. [SPEAKER_05]: And that's so important. [SPEAKER_05]: And you know, Stephen Bacheloss was on Stephanie Miller's show yesterday. [SPEAKER_05]: And we're talking about finding your joy.

[SPEAKER_05]: And I thought there was a lot of wisdom to that because we are so insconced in the [SPEAKER_05]: horrendousness of these fascist times.

[SPEAKER_05]: And I think if we can find even for short periods of time, some sort of thing to break us out of that constant cycle of Donald Trump and the daily outrageous and that's so valuable from a mental health point of view, but also from a solidarity point of view, from the ability to be able to connect with other people who are feeling and thinking the same things. [SPEAKER_07]: Well, we just watched Randy Rhodes, not your Randy, but the guitar player.

[SPEAKER_04]: Right, right, he's Randy, right. [SPEAKER_07]: His Randy, a documentary about him, and he actually taught a friend of mine how to play guitar. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, wow. [SPEAKER_07]: And he was a music teacher before he got, he was in quiet, right? [SPEAKER_07]: And then he got Aussie while he was still teaching. [SPEAKER_10]: Oh, cool. [SPEAKER_07]: And so it was sad because he was so young when he died and a plane crash that shouldn't have happened.

[SPEAKER_07]: And I knew he died like that, but I was like, [SPEAKER_07]: It was awful how he passed away, but it was just a lovely, watching Ozzy God rest his soul talk about Randy and the love he loved for him so much love and it was just really nice to kind of just go, uh, local guy did good.

[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I look there's there's I had I had a moment of joy earlier today friend of mine Rebecca if she wants me to tell you I'll tell you but she I'm sure some of you folks out there actually know she is but she's she was writing a piece she's shopping around right now it's a really good piece [SPEAKER_04]: She and I hadn't talked a little bit. [SPEAKER_04]: She's been busy and she just we're back and forth texting. [SPEAKER_04]: I could literally we could talk like for hours.

[SPEAKER_04]: Just one of those things. [SPEAKER_07]: I could talk for not talk about anything. [SPEAKER_04]: I could talk to you. [SPEAKER_07]: You both love soup. [SPEAKER_04]: And cats and yeah.

[SPEAKER_04]: Look she's she's fantastic and it was just one of those nice moments of [SPEAKER_04]: just reaching out and and she was telling about how she was, you know, this, this outlet wouldn't do it and I was like, okay, maybe you could go to this outlet wherever she's like here, what do you think? [SPEAKER_04]: And I look and I was like, oh, the great piece and you maybe go here and just just talking with somebody who is a friend and you just it turned your whole damn day around.

[SPEAKER_04]: And that's that's the kind of thing that that takes you from where your imagination is running away with you like I was telling Joe to this earlier about last night I didn't sleep that much at all because you know I have an active imagination and I realized that it's all a freaking show on Capitol Hill. [SPEAKER_04]: It's all a ridiculous show with Trump and his you know stormtroopers who look [SPEAKER_04]: They're fat, don't we white boys who are bored, who are trompin' around DC?

[SPEAKER_04]: They would rather be actually assigned to do actual things as opposed to, you know, let's walk around in a neighborhood for the fifth time. [SPEAKER_04]: Right. [SPEAKER_04]: But your brain, because they are National Guardsmen, your brain takes it places sometimes. [SPEAKER_04]: And one of the ways to get out of that is to find your people, to find your community, to connect with some of them, or even one person, even for five minutes.

[SPEAKER_04]: And it will change your attitude and you'll be like, you know what? [SPEAKER_04]: That's stupid cosplay on Capitol Hill still sucks. [SPEAKER_04]: It is nowhere close to anywhere as cool as a cosplay, you know, at Star Trek in Vegas. [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, hell no. [SPEAKER_04]: But that said, it's still cosplay. [SPEAKER_04]: And you know what? [SPEAKER_04]: I'm okay. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm okay at the moment. [SPEAKER_04]: My friends are okay. [SPEAKER_04]: My family's okay.

[SPEAKER_04]: The world isn't perfect. [SPEAKER_04]: But you know what? [SPEAKER_04]: We could get this week. [SPEAKER_04]: We could do this. [SPEAKER_04]: And I think Lake Bestless says said that's, you know, it's your moment of joy. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_03]: Ah, great way to kind of, where do I go from here? [SPEAKER_04]: You know, well, actually we probably got to clean up because, you know, at that time of day with every home.

[SPEAKER_04]: So it's the end of the evening, but man, you know, this is one of my moments of joys hanging out with you too, hanging out with everybody here in the bar. [SPEAKER_04]: It is the best couple of hours of my day, regardless of whatever else has to be done, including the dishes that I need to do that are sitting in the sink right now, which I got some bar glasses to clean. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, we will do the dishes. [SPEAKER_04]: Gotta do that stuff.

[SPEAKER_04]: Bob, thank you very much as always. [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you, Sean. [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you, Jody. [SPEAKER_04]: If you guys don't know, if you look, you have to go listen to the Bob Ceska podcast. [SPEAKER_04]: Go to Bob Ceska.com, find his show on all your favorite podcast players. [SPEAKER_04]: Listen in, subscribe in his Patreon because look, Bob needs to eat too. [SPEAKER_04]: And we like it. [SPEAKER_04]: We like it if you buy a drink. [SPEAKER_04]: Just say it.

[SPEAKER_04]: Bob, we'll see you next week. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you bet. [SPEAKER_04]: We'll be here. [SPEAKER_04]: Excellent. [SPEAKER_04]: Johnny, who do we have tomorrow? [SPEAKER_07]: We have the John Fugle saying who is John Fugle saying. [SPEAKER_04]: Excellent. [SPEAKER_04]: Hey, we had your busy coming in too. [SPEAKER_04]: Who is going to be filling in for you next week? [SPEAKER_04]: You guys should come back tomorrow. [SPEAKER_04]: It will be Thursday tomorrow.

[SPEAKER_04]: So look, go home. [SPEAKER_04]: Do some work. [SPEAKER_04]: Come back and we'll see you tomorrow night here at the politics box.
