[SPEAKER_06]: It's Politico. [SPEAKER_05]: Thank you, Politico. [SPEAKER_05]: Thank you, Politico. [SPEAKER_05]: Wherever you are, the politics lies. [SPEAKER_06]: Shotsmith, Pearson, Jody Hamilton. [SPEAKER_04]: Jody, Jody, Jody, Jody, Jody, guess what day it is? [SPEAKER_04]: It's a day before Thanksgiving. [SPEAKER_04]: It is the day before Thanksgiving. [SPEAKER_04]: Like usual, Jody is right. [SPEAKER_04]: We're excited. [SPEAKER_04]: I haven't mad.
[SPEAKER_09]: I have a calendar, so I kind of... [SPEAKER_09]: Yes, you have to write there on my computer. [SPEAKER_04]: I've got one here too, but also I'm just really excited because yes, you can see my shirts I love the Pac-Man Punk Pink Pie, Captain Punk and Pie, I love Pie, my wife got me this shirt [SPEAKER_04]: It has been a long day. [SPEAKER_04]: We'll talk a little bit about it here for you, especially you, of course. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, we definitely.
[SPEAKER_04]: We have a few things to chat about on that. [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you by the way to everybody who has come to us from all of our great radio affiliates. [SPEAKER_04]: Whether you are coming to us from WCPT, AMA 20 Chicago or Georgia now, radio down in Atlanta, maybe you are listening to the detour talk in Tennessee or AM950, Minneapolis, St. Paul, or maybe you're listening to progressive voices radio somewhere else, or you could be one of
[SPEAKER_04]: we do we love you thank you very much for all of you are subscribed either on your favorite podcast app or at the politics bar dot com's just six dollars a month it's less than a buck fifty a week and by doing that you put you know pie and other foods and drinks in jordies and my belly which is good especially now since your wife isn't feeling well and I'm still not [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, this has been, you know, this is, people always wonder what you're being a producer is like.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's hard to define. [SPEAKER_04]: It is extremely hard. [SPEAKER_04]: We've talked about this a number of times, Judi and I and it is the the easiest definition is you and I've talked about this. [SPEAKER_04]: It's If you're, if you're the producer of something and everybody goes, man, it went perfect. [SPEAKER_04]: Then you did your job. [SPEAKER_04]: If nobody knows you're there, then it's great.
[SPEAKER_04]: but as soon as something messes up, everybody knows you're there. [SPEAKER_04]: And the job is not to be there, which, I mean, it is to be there, but it is to appear that you are not there. [SPEAKER_04]: Like it just organically magically happened. [SPEAKER_09]: I remember the first movie that I produced with my sister, and I was not supposed to be the complete producer. [SPEAKER_09]: I was supposed to just do one job in production. [SPEAKER_04]: Right.
[SPEAKER_09]: And so at one point, I watched my gaffer, [SPEAKER_09]: running in slow motion, it looked like our generators have been ciphoned. [SPEAKER_04]: I remember you telling me this story. [SPEAKER_09]: And I was like, and it was like a Sunday. [SPEAKER_09]: And I'm like, OK, who do we call? [SPEAKER_09]: And so we called this other company that was not our Jenny company.
[SPEAKER_09]: And so they can't, I mean, we were going around Pasadena getting diesel fuel in gas cans just to keep the lights on. [SPEAKER_04]: This would have been 90s. [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, so I mean, literally we were like, I drove with a gas can to get a couple of gallons. [SPEAKER_09]: Somebody else drove with another one to get a couple of gallons getting diesel fuel because it's diesel.
[SPEAKER_04]: Important to know when you're when you're a producer the biggest thing that all these folks here in the bar know or need to know or should know is that you do things like this. [SPEAKER_04]: You know, the rule says no when you do it anyway. [SPEAKER_04]: I had a friend who Was doing a thing on on New Orleans Cemeteries or something and they got locked in which actually happens Surprising amount of times, but
[SPEAKER_04]: another friend who literally she used to be a radio person she was just down in New Orleans recently with her with her husband and they got locked in the cemetery too but and then you have to find ramped yeah um uh you know but so these are all examples another example of what a producer does a good producer is that you are an octopus [SPEAKER_04]: And that, when the things are really, really going crazy, you do what's called octopusing.
[SPEAKER_04]: Where it's like an octopus is just doing the spinning plates and juggling, flaming, I don't know, uh, Chinese chainsaw or something in your mouth. [SPEAKER_04]: And the idea is, don't drop anything, drop a plate, don't drop, don't drop anything. [SPEAKER_09]: So we did keep the lights on because otherwise we would have been down for a good hour and a half. [SPEAKER_09]: So that's time as money. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah on a film set or almost anywhere.
[SPEAKER_04]: But the idea is that you've got to be resourceful and you've got to do things. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, you haven't been feeling a hundred percent in the last couple of days. [SPEAKER_04]: You've been, you've been doing a great job still, you know, hanging out. [SPEAKER_04]: And because we know that you are not contagious, even though you're here at the bar, you can be here with just fine. [SPEAKER_09]: I hope I didn't give your wife anything over my microphone.
[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think so. [SPEAKER_09]: OK. She was, we're not that technologically advanced yet. [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, we don't have, we don't have a disease or vision yet. [SPEAKER_04]: Although I'm sure they don't work, OK. JFK or FK will do it. [SPEAKER_09]: Yes, definitely. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm sure he would be like, hey, can we make people sick or faster? [SPEAKER_04]: That'd be great. [SPEAKER_04]: So, anyway. [SPEAKER_04]: But so last night, my wife went to bed.
[SPEAKER_04]: She's not feeling great. [SPEAKER_04]: She goes to bed. [SPEAKER_04]: Do you ever have that sound? [SPEAKER_04]: Well, have you ever taken care of kids and had them get sick in the middle of the night? [SPEAKER_09]: No. [SPEAKER_04]: Do you ever have a cat or a dog throw? [SPEAKER_09]: Yes. [SPEAKER_09]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_04]: Very similar sound. [SPEAKER_04]: different though when it is your spouse and they are laying in the bed next to you blur of you. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, crap.
[SPEAKER_04]: So that was Charlie Spine and Laundry and the bed sheets at four in the morning. [SPEAKER_04]: So sorry. [SPEAKER_04]: On the same time, here's the thing. [SPEAKER_04]: So we have been putting together some great best of for you guys for tomorrow and for Friday.
[SPEAKER_04]: uh... so that way and we've got some new stuff as well so there will be some new stuff in there we will send out a new drink of the day for each day until be fun uh... and it has a lot of history of the dead they'll be great but here's the thing uh... basically we're producing five shows in what we normally use three days and jolly wasn't feeling well and my wife was sick and it was up in the middle of the night
[SPEAKER_04]: And hell, there was even a shooting about four blocks on the White House. [SPEAKER_09]: I know that's frightening. [SPEAKER_04]: I hope a couple of national guard members apparently. [SPEAKER_09]: One might be dead. [SPEAKER_09]: We are not 100% sure. [SPEAKER_04]: I don't even my first thing with shootings is wait several hours.
[SPEAKER_04]: because so within the the first, I don't know, 20 minutes or so, DHS and who was on land security, which both under the same kind of literally one was saying one was shot and one was saying, no, there were two national guard people shot. [SPEAKER_04]: Any? [SPEAKER_09]: Now they're saying three people were shot. [SPEAKER_09]: Last I heard. [SPEAKER_04]: It's always when it's shooting. [SPEAKER_04]: It's a fog of war.
[SPEAKER_04]: This is one of these things that I learned over many, many years in radio and the whole thing is, is especially when it's a shooting like that.
[SPEAKER_04]: All you know is it's a shooting it's near the White House and it looks like there were some national guard members involved right and Donald is not there right now, so no, it was probably less security around that area than when he is there or Jared has told us that there are still national guard members all over even though they've been told they have now about 25 26 days something like that to get the hell out of them.
[SPEAKER_04]: But we'll I hope that the reporting that one of them was killed is I don't that's not true because that would suck That would because this person didn't need to be there in the first place exactly when we when we get details Obviously we will you know put them out on social media and let you guys know so we do have a good show tonight No Bob Cesca is in the house. [SPEAKER_04]: We do have a a I like today's drink it is um What do I how do I put this? [SPEAKER_08]: It stays here.
[SPEAKER_04]: Well, we're just talking about the White House. [SPEAKER_04]: So we kind of kind of- It does correspond a little bit to the White House. [SPEAKER_09]: What happens there stays there kind of thing? [SPEAKER_04]: Kind of. [SPEAKER_09]: Kind of. [SPEAKER_04]: Kind of. [SPEAKER_09]: And you can play things again. [SPEAKER_04]: And also, and also, the particular White House of the drink of the day talks about involves Nazis. [SPEAKER_04]: And hey, the current White House involves Nazis.
[UNKNOWN]: Yes. [SPEAKER_04]: I just said that because we don't like Nazis the White House, so nobody should like them. [SPEAKER_04]: I The news of the day is interesting today. [SPEAKER_04]: So first of all, I started it out.
[SPEAKER_04]: You and I we gather all of this, but then I will usually write the graph that's at the top of the news on tab for you whenever you get that you can't subscribe to the news on tab for free at the politics dot politics bar dot com and you remember that little music meme anybody got time for that.
[SPEAKER_04]: I stuck a link into there because of the fact that so these these trumpers they're throwing around the words like sedition and traitors they even know these words mean no and they are throwing them around at people like Senator Mark Kelly who's a patriot yes he is [SPEAKER_04]: I am not 100% on Senator Mark Kelly politically, as you guys know, I have problems virtually everybody, including, including me and no, I shouldn't run for office. [SPEAKER_04]: Don't say that.
[SPEAKER_04]: You said that I'm not social media. [SPEAKER_04]: Don't say that. [SPEAKER_04]: I don't want to run for office. [SPEAKER_04]: But she don't want to know. [SPEAKER_04]: But the whole thing is, he is, he's a little bit more centrist, I don't know if it's more. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, Sarah Zona, so, right, and I get that and he is in many ways a very good sender.
[SPEAKER_04]: So I got nothing to say about it, but the man has flew 39 combat missions four times up and back to the space station or release on the space shuttle. [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, you know, calling him it for it really, especially when you literally have your foreign envoy, your excuse for a secretary of state because you couldn't actually get the secretary of state you wanted past my Congress.
[SPEAKER_04]: So your ghost secretary of state, your kind [SPEAKER_04]: And you call me and the people who support me a trader. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, I mean Pete Kagbreath had better damn well be glad that we are on the radio And other I sure you were not alone in your thought bubbles drunken worth was bag of crap.
[SPEAKER_09]: He is I agree say I am not gonna argue with you sir [SPEAKER_04]: So, any who, but we will obviously talk about both the traders' accusations and what trees and actually looks like with Whit cough and this whole capitulation deal, it's not a piece deal. [SPEAKER_04]: Let's start calling it what it is. [SPEAKER_04]: Putin wants a capitulation deal from Ukraine. [SPEAKER_09]: What was the name of the guy in England? [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, God, you're talking about that.
[SPEAKER_04]: Never chamberland. [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, you're going to go back to World War II. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, Putin wants another Neville Chamberland, which [SPEAKER_04]: I didn't happen. [SPEAKER_04]: So, I knew we'll talk about that today. [SPEAKER_04]: Also, when the news on tap today for the publicans cannot govern, the Trumponomics is failing.
[SPEAKER_04]: More mistakes in the war on good government and something that President Biden and Vice President Harris and the Democratic Congress left behind that Trump is of course trying to take it credit for. [SPEAKER_09]: Oh, I'm shocked. [SPEAKER_09]: This is my shocked face. [SPEAKER_04]: There's some stuff in immigration wars and obviously that huge fire they haven't, they still haven't been able to put it all out in Hong Kong. [SPEAKER_04]: That's incredible.
[SPEAKER_04]: That's incredible. [SPEAKER_04]: The rate buildings last check 36 dead 270, almost 300 missing. [SPEAKER_11]: That's terrible. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: So. [SPEAKER_04]: A lot of reasons to sit there and pull your hair, but tomorrow is Thanksgiving and that is, it's a good day, it's going to be a good day. [SPEAKER_04]: We've got some great people going to be part of, you know, part of part of the, the best of that we do for you guys tomorrow.
[SPEAKER_04]: Obviously, Martin Sheen, we're going to have him in many cone. [SPEAKER_04]: Obviously, we talked to her. [SPEAKER_04]: What about a month ago? [SPEAKER_09]: What is it about? [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, just a little over a month now. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I'll tell you a week ago. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Yep. [SPEAKER_04]: So, yeah, we'll come a little not too long ago.
[SPEAKER_04]: And then, of course, Julie Frenchela, if you missed her last night, we'll have her again tomorrow night because it's definitely pertinent Thanksgiving. [SPEAKER_04]: It is. [SPEAKER_04]: There you go. [SPEAKER_04]: All right, Jodie. [SPEAKER_04]: We should talk about the news of the day, but we should also probably pay some bills. [SPEAKER_04]: That's kind of my guess. [SPEAKER_09]: It's a good thing. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, okay. [SPEAKER_04]: So here's what we're going to do.
[SPEAKER_04]: We are going to collect your glasses. [SPEAKER_04]: Get some bills paid here. [SPEAKER_04]: While we're doing that, you guys could, if you maybe forgot before you left home, before you came here to the politics bar this evening. [SPEAKER_04]: So [SPEAKER_04]: You know where to go, left right center down the hall. [SPEAKER_04]: You got to go there, you know, we aim to please. [SPEAKER_04]: You aim to please.
[SPEAKER_04]: We will give you some very fun news, some good stuff in entertainment. [SPEAKER_04]: Obviously, we're going to talk about some really good election land news and Tennessee. [SPEAKER_04]: You folks who are listening down there on the E2 or talk and everybody in Tennessee, y'all are doing some good work, but you got a little ways to go. [SPEAKER_04]: Keep going, we'll talk more about Afton Bane and that whole election down there.
[SPEAKER_04]: And of course, like I said, we'll talk about the guy who's a real trainer. [SPEAKER_04]: No, I don't mean Kegbreath. [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, well, you could consider that, but Steve Whitkoff. [SPEAKER_04]: Yes. [SPEAKER_04]: Uh-huh. [SPEAKER_04]: We'll go through the definitions. [SPEAKER_04]: Get your drink refreshed. [SPEAKER_04]: Come on back. [SPEAKER_04]: You just a couple minutes. [SPEAKER_04]: Here at the politics bar.
[SPEAKER_07]: We'll be right back after we pay some bills at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_04]: Wednesday nights. [SPEAKER_04]: I don't it feels like a Friday, but it is in fact a Wednesday night here at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you very much to everybody who reaches out to us on all of our great social media platforms or if you reach out on the bar phone like Phil and Seattle. [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you, Phil for that. [SPEAKER_04]: You can reach out on the social media platforms.
[SPEAKER_04]: Blue sky or Twitter, Threads, Instagram, Facebook, Substack, or you can leave messages, comments, be polite on our YouTube page. [SPEAKER_04]: We're all the same place on all of those locations. [SPEAKER_04]: We are at the politics bar, which conveniently right now, so are you. [SPEAKER_04]: So that kind of works out.
[SPEAKER_04]: By the way, the bar phone, if you want to call it, you can call and leave a message or if you have a really good question, you can call and leave that and we'll bring it up to the mics. [SPEAKER_04]: It's real simple. [SPEAKER_04]: It's 213-677-772-582-13677-777-7258-213-677-Salt, like in your Margarita.
[SPEAKER_04]: By the way, Phil, up in Seattle, Viva Borrowline, he is stunned that most folks in media are not saying that these are members of Congress that are being harassed by Kegbreath, by Donny. [SPEAKER_04]: and buy the other maggots and they're being harassed for telling the truth. [SPEAKER_04]: Right. [SPEAKER_04]: Also, there is the first amendment that there is the speech and debate clause for members of Congress. [SPEAKER_04]: So they could say almost whatever it hell they want.
[SPEAKER_04]: So there's absolutely no legitimate reason for these people, these these mega monsters to be calling and they're not just, they're not just calling Democrats. [SPEAKER_04]: They're also calling some of the Republicans who are standing [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, she did stand up. [SPEAKER_09]: She did. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, you know, relatively speak. [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it was a sternly word of letter, but it was still, I mean, you know, yeah.
[SPEAKER_04]: No, no, I'm with you on that. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm I'm very glad. [SPEAKER_04]: Um, I just. [SPEAKER_04]: Anyway, for those of you who missed it last night, Senator Mark Kelly was on Jimmy Kimmel, and he was talking about this here. [SPEAKER_09]: I would have gone to that show if I was feeling better. [SPEAKER_09]: Oh, God, well, he has loves with a met him, man. [SPEAKER_04]: Are you kidding me? [SPEAKER_04]: I am kidding me.
[SPEAKER_04]: I feel better tomorrow, so that way you can go and hang at Lonnie's mom's house. [SPEAKER_09]: We'll see when I wake up. [SPEAKER_04]: How about the goods? [SPEAKER_04]: But for right now, let me play Senator Mark Kelly last night from Jimmy Kimmel Show. [SPEAKER_04]: Here it is. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's kind of shocking, you know, that the president, you know, we said something which is basically follow the law, and the president of the United States says kill them.
[SPEAKER_01]: Hang them. [SPEAKER_01]: Executem, try them for sedition. [SPEAKER_01]: I served 25 years in the United States Navy, you know, I bet. [SPEAKER_01]: As I mentioned, you've fought for this country, you've done more than kills for this country multiple times. [SPEAKER_01]: Almost shot down. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a way of almost got killed. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a way of killing. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a way of killing. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a way of killing. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a way of killing.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a way of killing. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a way of killing. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a way of killing. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a way of killing. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a way of killing.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a way of killing. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a way of killing. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a way of killing. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that is Senator Mark Kelly is right and that is way, way out of bounds. [SPEAKER_09]: It is. [SPEAKER_09]: I mean, we say it's stochastic terrorism is what Donald Trump does. [SPEAKER_09]: He sends people to do his bidding. [SPEAKER_04]: look in Indiana. [SPEAKER_04]: So this is this is it's related to this so we can kind of diversion come back.
[SPEAKER_04]: It's in the election land section of the news on tap today. [SPEAKER_04]: So remember we said that in Indiana they weren't going to go ahead. [SPEAKER_04]: They weren't going to play around and play Donald's game with the restricting wars. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, Indiana legislatures have decided, well, some of them have decided to reconvene and votes here. [SPEAKER_09]: They're not going to get the vote. [SPEAKER_09]: It's already been shown.
[SPEAKER_04]: The Republican state Senate leaders says they're not going to have the votes. [SPEAKER_04]: However, there is a story that's in the Atlantic. [SPEAKER_04]: We have a guest link, a gift link for you guys. [SPEAKER_04]: So you can view it for free if you want. [SPEAKER_04]: And any and a state Republican officials are basically being terrorized into supporting Trump's redistricting war by the maggots in the Indian. [SPEAKER_04]: Stochastic terrorism.
[SPEAKER_04]: That's just what you were saying, Jody. [SPEAKER_04]: And that's exactly. [SPEAKER_04]: That's it. [SPEAKER_04]: And that's what they're mimicking. [SPEAKER_04]: They are following his lead. [SPEAKER_04]: And they are saying to Indiana State Republican elected leaders. [SPEAKER_04]: If you don't do what I want, I'm going to come and fire bomb your house. [SPEAKER_04]: Yep. [SPEAKER_04]: That is not America. [SPEAKER_09]: No, shouldn't be.
[SPEAKER_04]: That is, you, you want to use a trader, anybody saying that's that's that's trader. [SPEAKER_04]: That's not acceptable, man. [SPEAKER_04]: That's not okay. [SPEAKER_04]: Fact, um, um, here's the thing. [SPEAKER_04]: There are definitions for these things. [SPEAKER_04]: What's have definitions for this? [SPEAKER_09]: I didn't know that way. [SPEAKER_04]: I know it's amazing. [SPEAKER_09]: Is it in what called a dictionary? [SPEAKER_04]: That's it. [SPEAKER_04]: That's it.
[SPEAKER_04]: And sedition also so trader is defined in the constitution article three section three of the constitution says quote Trees and against the United States shall consist only in levying war against them or in adhering to their enemies giving them aid and comfort No person shall be convicted of treason unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act or on confession in open court in quote And legal definition
[SPEAKER_04]: And I also thought that with treason, you have to actually be at war, generally that is the legal condition there because it says it shall consist only in war. [SPEAKER_04]: So you must be at war and then giving aid and comfort to the enemy. [SPEAKER_09]: Right. [SPEAKER_04]: Now here's here's the enemy here. [SPEAKER_04]: The enemy is somebody who wants to tear down the government of the United States.
[SPEAKER_04]: Sure. [SPEAKER_09]: So, for example, does he have bad blonde hair and maybe an orange tan? [SPEAKER_04]: January 6th was an insurrection. [SPEAKER_04]: It was. [SPEAKER_04]: No matter whether anybody wants to say otherwise, if they do, try to say otherwise. [SPEAKER_04]: They're lying in their full of it, including if they're around your Thanksgiving table. [SPEAKER_04]: it was an insurrection. [SPEAKER_04]: It was an attack on the United States from within the United States.
[SPEAKER_04]: However, from what we've been seeing, we saw it was at Monday or Tuesday that we had it in the news on tap. [SPEAKER_04]: The story about Twitter and the locations. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: All these mega boxer from other places that have ties to Russia was Monday. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, we had Phil here in the bar.
[SPEAKER_04]: and he was saying this they've been doing this for over a decade they have been at war with us even if we are not at war with Russia Russia is considering and Putin is considering to be is considered in his head to have be at war with us yes so to be at war we have to have the Congress declare war true [SPEAKER_04]: So we're not technically at war with Russia, but we are in many ways actually at war with Russia because Russia's at war with us. [SPEAKER_09]: What's a Cold War again?
[SPEAKER_09]: It's just a different version. [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_04]: Jody's right again. [SPEAKER_04]: Here's the thing. [SPEAKER_04]: If somebody is giving aid or comfort or assistance to Russia, who is trying to harm us, [SPEAKER_04]: Would that other than the war justification? [SPEAKER_04]: Would that fit his prison journey? [SPEAKER_09]: I think we should ask Malcolm. [SPEAKER_09]: I'll try to get him back on, but uh... [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely.
[SPEAKER_04]: We will check in and see if we can get Malcolm here after the holiday break. [SPEAKER_04]: But yes. [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, if you ask most lawyers, they would say, that is, that is treasonous behavior. [SPEAKER_09]: So is Elon up for that, then? [SPEAKER_09]: Because he's allowing all these people? [SPEAKER_04]: Elon is a citizen. [SPEAKER_04]: He is a citizen now. [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, he was born in South Africa. [SPEAKER_04]: But he is a citizen.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yes. [SPEAKER_04]: There are questions about that. [SPEAKER_04]: The other word we're looking for in definition is sedition. [SPEAKER_04]: Sedition under 18 USC, that's US code, section two, three, eight, four.
[SPEAKER_04]: The definition of seditious conspiracy, sedition specifically is, quote, to conspire to overthrow, put down or to destroy by force, the government of the United States or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force, the authority there of or by force, to prevent hinder or delay the execution of any law of the United States or by force to seize, take possess any property of the US contrary to the authority thereof. [SPEAKER_09]: That sounds like January 6th.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, it's exactly January 6th, um, the thing that was hard. [SPEAKER_04]: If, yes, by Donald, by the way, who then was aiding those people who were attacking. [SPEAKER_04]: He was aiding in a thing. [SPEAKER_09]: Look at him. [SPEAKER_04]: If you guys want to talk traitor, traders and sedition, we can talk these things all day long, but the Magamonsters are not going to win this one.
[SPEAKER_04]: The words are not on their side, and in fact, actually, Ellie Honey, who, you know, I've had my differences with him in the past, and I know legal folks have too, but he said a pretty clear last night on Caitlyn Collins show while we were here at the bar. [SPEAKER_04]: Let me roll this one too. [SPEAKER_02]: let's say they get these interviews legally, what is the objective? [SPEAKER_02]: What I mean, what are they going to ask them how the video is made?
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't really, what would they ask legally? [SPEAKER_00]: None that I can think of no legitimate objective. [SPEAKER_00]: Let me be clear. [SPEAKER_00]: There is no crime committed by either the Democrats or the Republicans in those two competing videos. [SPEAKER_00]: As Andy McKay correctly said, they're both protected by the first amendment. [SPEAKER_00]: It is right down the middle of the first amendment political speech.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not even anything adjacent to a crime or that could develop into a time. [SPEAKER_00]: I want to make sure people understand, when Trump raises seditious conspiracy, he is so far out of line that's hard to describe. [SPEAKER_00]: It's not even close to seditious conspiracy. [SPEAKER_09]: Amen, Ellie. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_09]: I don't agree with it all the time, but good for him.
[SPEAKER_04]: Hmm, the fact of the matter is is that you could have a lot of free speech and you can say certain things, but especially when you are in the government yourself, you have a responsibility to act a lot more, if don't act to fool, yeah, people going maybe maybe some of you are already at the location where you're going to be celebrating Thanksgiving, which case, you know what I'm talking about, you're grinding, you're granny, you're your auntie, you're, uh, your uncle, your pop, you know what I'm talking about, you know what I'm talking about, you know what I'm talking about, you know what I'm talking about, you know what I'm talking about, you know what I'm talking about, you know what I'm talking about, you know what I'm talking about, you know what I'm talking about, you know what I'm talking about, you know what I'm talking about, you know what I'm talking about, you know what I'm talking about, you know what I'm talking about,
[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe they'll say, and you don't act to fool, you know somebody, you know somebody, you know somebody at your, your family house, or maybe your friends giving, and you got a friend of a friend. [SPEAKER_04]: Did you know no one, and they act in the fool. [SPEAKER_04]: Somebody going to act to fool, but no somebody going to act to fool. [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe they had too many, maybe they just act to fool all the time, or maybe they just act to fool when they round people.
[SPEAKER_04]: They don't even know. [SPEAKER_04]: They, you know, don't, don't see these people all the time, or kids do that all the time, especially at that holiday gatherings. [SPEAKER_04]: The adults are all there and they're kind of showing off. [SPEAKER_04]: Look at me, look at me, they're at the food. [SPEAKER_09]: Well, that's how Julie talked to us yesterday, about family, just inherentness. [SPEAKER_04]: Family, go home. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you become kind of a kid.
[SPEAKER_04]: We all do that a little bit. [SPEAKER_04]: It's just, it's as she said, it was psychological. [SPEAKER_04]: So if you guys missed that, you'll hear it tomorrow, again, on the best of every play. [SPEAKER_04]: But here's the thing, when you are in positions of authority, [SPEAKER_04]: You don't get to act for. [SPEAKER_08]: It shouldn't. [SPEAKER_04]: Look, look. [SPEAKER_04]: We. [SPEAKER_04]: We run this bar for everybody here, the community.
[SPEAKER_04]: Regardless of whether you are listening over in France, hello, whether you are looking for a friend. [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you, exactly. [SPEAKER_09]: You know, Russia's high, Russia, high Iran, high Iraq. [SPEAKER_04]: All listed, we have the stats. [SPEAKER_09]: We do. [SPEAKER_09]: It's like, wait, what? [SPEAKER_04]: It's like, okay, I don't care what corner of the bar. [SPEAKER_04]: You're coming from no matter to me, none. [SPEAKER_04]: We're glad you're here.
[SPEAKER_04]: But don't act to fool. [SPEAKER_04]: But it also means that since we run this establishment for you guys, and that we have a responsibility, the wonderful rate of the stations that air us and the wonderful podcast platform of us on, we got to be here. [SPEAKER_04]: So if we can, you know, crawl up at the bed, Joe, he's here. [SPEAKER_04]: You know, if if you spouts a sick like mine is, and you, you know, we're up at four in the morning last night, Jane and Sheets, you still here.
[SPEAKER_04]: You got a responsibility, [SPEAKER_04]: is he's been acting the fool way too damn long, and that there's cash, but tell it's acting a fool and there's Christy, the gnome and I mean, those three might be not long for this administration. [SPEAKER_04]: We'll see, but then, but then he'll find some other clowns because they might be worse. [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_04]: So you'd be careful with what you wish for. [SPEAKER_09]: I know.
[SPEAKER_04]: The long in the short is well, one of our friends show off, you know, one of our great friends here. [SPEAKER_04]: We've had him. [SPEAKER_04]: He has another friend over on threads, Josh eel. [SPEAKER_04]: And Josh said, if telling the troops not to follow illegal orders is sedition, what do we call colluding with the Kremlin to manipulate the U.S. president into advancing Russian interests over America's? [SPEAKER_04]: Josh is right.
[SPEAKER_04]: When you throw around words like sedition and treason and traitor, it's a vicious conspiracy. [SPEAKER_04]: They have meaning, both in legal meaning and in words. [SPEAKER_04]: It's like going to your grannies and acting a fool and you kick out the leg of the table and you end up breaking her favorite candy dish. [SPEAKER_04]: And she, man, you might be 35 years old. [SPEAKER_04]: She's going to walk your ass.
[SPEAKER_09]: Well, I mean, I'm just starting to watch Stranger Things which has dropped again. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, the new season we're in the upside down season five. [SPEAKER_09]: We are in that bad part kind of yeah We are we are in the bad places the the good place to remember that show that was a good show Ted Dan So that was a really good show. [SPEAKER_09]: There you go. [SPEAKER_09]: He might be on our show and like no January affair January [SPEAKER_04]: That be fun.
[SPEAKER_04]: We fun to have Teddy in the bar. [SPEAKER_04]: That be good. [SPEAKER_09]: He said he do it. [SPEAKER_09]: So we'll see. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm good. [SPEAKER_04]: But the the the whole deal is you can act to fool and you can't throw around words like trader and treason and condition unless you have justification. [SPEAKER_04]: Now look, I understand from Trump's position.
[SPEAKER_04]: He himself thinks that he can throw around the word sedition because in the definition of sedition, it says to a foe's by force, the authority of the government, or to prevent hinder or delay the execution of any law of the United States. [SPEAKER_09]: The law is different than what he wants to do.
[SPEAKER_04]: Right, but he thinks his interpretation of this and thus the interpretation of the lawyers that he has working with him that are great with him [SPEAKER_09]: Oh, he's so Nick Sony in on that. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, he's more dictatorial on that. [SPEAKER_09]: Well, that too. [SPEAKER_09]: But Emmy Nixon basically said if I do it, it's not against the law. [SPEAKER_09]: So... [SPEAKER_04]: Right, right, exactly. [SPEAKER_09]: He literally said that on an interview.
[SPEAKER_04]: Uh-huh. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, a famous interview. [SPEAKER_04]: Yes. [SPEAKER_04]: But I think Trump goes a little bit further. [SPEAKER_04]: He does. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: But the fact of the matter is, I understand. [SPEAKER_04]: So from his position only, he could say that because that's his opinion.
[SPEAKER_04]: That's a lot of opinion even being the president, even though he doesn't always get to act to fool, he could still say it, but everybody else around him has the responsibility to act a hell of a love better than that. [SPEAKER_04]: Look, we will get off of this, you know, get into something a little bit more fun because obviously it is Thanksgiving Eve here at the politics bar and pretty much everywhere around these great United States.
[SPEAKER_04]: So we'll talk about some fun stuff obviously. [SPEAKER_04]: I want to talk about that. [SPEAKER_04]: After I've been election going on in 10 years. [SPEAKER_09]: That's amazing. [SPEAKER_04]: Yep. [SPEAKER_04]: And we also have that amazing drink of the day. [SPEAKER_04]: So look, fresh in your drink up and come right back. [SPEAKER_04]: It's a Wednesday and I hear the politics book. [SPEAKER_04]: Hang on.
[SPEAKER_07]: We'll be right back after we pay some bills at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_04]: Wednesday night here at politics bar. [SPEAKER_04]: It is Thanksgiving evening. [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you very much for hanging out with us as you start your holiday from wherever you are. [SPEAKER_04]: And you know, maybe you're doing something. [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe you're like, wait, wait. [SPEAKER_04]: I caught the earlier part of the show, but then I missed the other part of the show.
[SPEAKER_04]: He's a thing to do with subscribe. [SPEAKER_04]: As as Jody recommends, you can grab the phone of the person next to you on the bus or on the train. [SPEAKER_04]: They love that. [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly at the airport.
[SPEAKER_04]: you're waiting there you know I mean the weather's kind of screwed up some places in the country right now so maybe you're waiting along and you want just turn to the person next to me like look I got something you want to hear it's the politics bar or of course on your own phone you could subscribe six dollars a month gets you the podcast and free get you the drink of the day with the recipe and get you that news on tap for free to check it out it's all there to politics bar.
[SPEAKER_04]: All right, Jodie, I think talk about more than news. [SPEAKER_04]: If I want to talk about the drink the day, because turn toward something fun. [SPEAKER_04]: And you have many holiday movies that you watch either at Thanksgiving or Christmas or Fourth of July or any holiday specifically is there anything that you specifically watch? [SPEAKER_09]: It's a wonderful life, obviously. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay. [SPEAKER_09]: That's a Thanksgiving or Christmas thing.
[SPEAKER_09]: And then there used to be here in Los Angeles on KTLA, [SPEAKER_04]: Did you, who was that that you were telling that to the other day? [SPEAKER_09]: It was something that lived here. [SPEAKER_09]: It might have been Mindy or the Mindy. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I was going to say I might have been Mindy or the Mindy. [SPEAKER_09]: One of the Mindy's, um, I know a lot of Mindy's apparently. [SPEAKER_09]: Well, the other Mindy, or Mindy, and they both know each other, too.
[SPEAKER_04]: So there's that, uh, but you're saying the Mindy and Mindy can walk together and be Mindy's square. [SPEAKER_09]: They're Mindy's square.
[SPEAKER_09]: And, but no, I mean, I've seen this particular film not only on television, [SPEAKER_04]: wish that all the the one for the drink of the day that I've seen all the kids I'm not that old yeah jodie is not that old over there you're just laughing about it stop that I am not as old as the movie or old enough to have seen the movie when it showed out of her forties [SPEAKER_09]: No, I'm not, I'm not in my 60s either. [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly, she's in her 50s like me, so.
[SPEAKER_09]: I'm in between. [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_09]: But basically, this movie, when I saw it in the theater, when it was a re-release at the Egyptian in Hollywood, see, early 1992, that's where my brain goes, because 50 years, as much as, you know, I saw, gone with the wind in the theater, after I'd seen it on, [SPEAKER_09]: TV a hundred thousand times, but this one, as you got to see him in the theater. [SPEAKER_04]: Some of the classic movies are best in the theater.
[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I mean, I haven't really really nice set up at home. [SPEAKER_09]: I told you the argument that I had with Paul Anderson when I saw there will be blood. [SPEAKER_09]: And you go, you saw it as a screener, right? [SPEAKER_09]: And I went, oh, I guess, nah. [SPEAKER_09]: He yelled at me. [SPEAKER_09]: Well, he didn't yell. [SPEAKER_09]: He just, he was very upset because you need to see it in the theater. [SPEAKER_09]: And so I did. [SPEAKER_04]: Uh-huh.
[SPEAKER_04]: He's right. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay. [SPEAKER_09]: And I sent him my ticket. [SPEAKER_04]: Some films are better in the theater. [SPEAKER_04]: There's a reason to go see some films. [SPEAKER_04]: There, actually.
[SPEAKER_04]: Um. [SPEAKER_04]: if you're stuck with kids this weekend you may want to go see one of films that is out it's in the news on tap by the way in the entertainment section as utopia two box office previews this sequel has scored the second best start ever for Disney animation nice so sounds like they did a pretty good job with that so yeah you know look go go watch a movie nothing I do not want to see another rush hour but it looks like Donald
[SPEAKER_04]: Brett Ratner, who is the director of the original Rush Hour movies, who had issues. [SPEAKER_04]: He had issues. [SPEAKER_04]: He was part of the whole Me 2 thing. [SPEAKER_04]: There was a lot of people who have questions about him. [SPEAKER_04]: Whatever. [SPEAKER_04]: He's been persona enough for a lot of people in Hollywood. [SPEAKER_04]: But I guess he kissed up to the elephants and as we all know, the elephants have been kissing up to Donnie.
[SPEAKER_04]: And so somebody went to somebody and said, to Donald, you should have them do this. [SPEAKER_04]: And now they've green lit. [SPEAKER_04]: Although Jackie Chan, love them though I do. [SPEAKER_04]: He's 71. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, he can't do what he used to do other than voice work and Chris Tucker has done some voice work for movies.
[SPEAKER_04]: Not sure if he's in Zootopia, but he was in the bad guys, I think, you know, but other than that, he hasn't really done anything on, you know, on camera since like, you know, 2010, early, 2010. [SPEAKER_02]: It's been a minute. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I, anyway, anyway, but like you were saying, movies are important. [SPEAKER_04]: They are. [SPEAKER_04]: Some movies are, especially if they're classic movies. [SPEAKER_04]: Jody, what is the drink of the day?
[SPEAKER_04]: Because we've been talking around it enough that some people are like, come on, come on, get out of here. [SPEAKER_04]: What it is, I subscribed. [SPEAKER_09]: It's called a Casa Blanca cocktail. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, obviously after the movie, Casa Blanca. [SPEAKER_09]: And basically, it premiered today in 1942. [SPEAKER_09]: There you go. [SPEAKER_04]: It premiered actually during the war. [SPEAKER_09]: It did, during the war, which is very brave, I think, those writers.
[SPEAKER_04]: There is a very interesting back story to this. [SPEAKER_04]: It came from a play on the screenwriters who were supposed to do it, then couldn't do it, and then they could. [SPEAKER_04]: Everybody thought it was just going to be a film, you know, it's a film, and then it wins on these awards, and it becomes a classic. [SPEAKER_04]: It's the full history is really worth reading. [SPEAKER_04]: You need to check that out in the drink of the day section.
[SPEAKER_09]: And what's interesting to me, it will enter the public domain in the [SPEAKER_09]: in January of 2038. [SPEAKER_09]: So let's in a minute. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's it's look. [SPEAKER_04]: Disney is probably the single biggest company that has pushed to extend copyright protections because of the mouse, obviously. [SPEAKER_09]: Obviously. [SPEAKER_04]: But at some point copyright protections end.
[SPEAKER_09]: Well, I mean, Sonny Bona, rest his soul extended copyright because he was a songwriter. [SPEAKER_09]: right because before you had to keep renewing it from night I had to learn about this in college from 1919 that was the first copyright law and 76 it kind of changed it was life was 50 and now it's life plus 75 because of sunny bono and god bless him for that because as a songwriter you know [SPEAKER_04]: Well, but then corporations of kind of take corporations are different.
[SPEAKER_09]: They take it. [SPEAKER_04]: Why do I some of your favorite old movies and your favorite old TV shows and your favorite old computer games and your favorite old books and these kinds of things. [SPEAKER_04]: If you're wondering why they keep coming back, there's a quirk of copyright law. [SPEAKER_04]: that allows them to say, well, it's a reissue. [SPEAKER_04]: This work is a reissue or it's a derivative. [SPEAKER_04]: Right.
[SPEAKER_04]: It's a close enough derivative of the original that we can keep it. [SPEAKER_04]: We have to protect the original for another 75 years from this particular [SPEAKER_09]: And by the way, I really don't have a problem with that. [SPEAKER_09]: It's a weird thing because I know so many people that write music and they have children and it's a whole year.
[SPEAKER_04]: I have a problem with it only because of things like, for example, with YouTube, YouTube's algorithms, that basically try to stop and stop on anything that, oh, this picture has a copyright on this. [SPEAKER_04]: This two seconds, music is a copyright. [SPEAKER_04]: And this piece of video, and you go, too, this is a news commentary show.
[SPEAKER_04]: We reference things all the time, they go, [SPEAKER_04]: I get and I do believe that artists should be paid for their stuff, but I also think that a lot of the corporations have gone a little too far. [SPEAKER_09]: I'm not going to disagree with you on that big, but YouTube has now done a thing where you can put something up that's copyrighted, you just don't make money off of it. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, but that's just it.
[SPEAKER_04]: If it's part of a whole thing like us, we've got a thing we're figuring out with that with some of the video stuff that when we put up video clips, [SPEAKER_04]: We'll still risk it, and every commentary does. [SPEAKER_04]: If you go and you view something from one of the main stream news organizations, ABC, or NBC, or MSNow, or CNN, or whatever, and they put it up normally you see an ad, because they want to make some eye off the two.
[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I mean, it's important enough that they reference another clip from somebody else. [SPEAKER_04]: Sometimes you'll go, you'll write into it and they go, oh, they really want to just see it. [SPEAKER_04]: No, they didn't really want you to see it. [SPEAKER_04]: They just, they said, look, it's more important that we get the clicks and that you see it. [SPEAKER_04]: Then we fight about the, you know, tiny bit of revenue relatively to what they made.
[SPEAKER_09]: I don't know if you ever saw the Zolloffs that I sent you, but it was all copyrighted material. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_09]: And so, [SPEAKER_09]: it's new because the video is not the song so the video is new that script is new but the song is copyrighted the songs are copyrighted and so it's like YouTube is like no I'm like fine I don't care just enjoy it [SPEAKER_04]: Well, that is definitely topic for another day.
[SPEAKER_04]: But I want to get to the drink the day, because I'm thirsty as you guys can tell my voice all scared. [SPEAKER_04]: I need a drink, Jody. [SPEAKER_04]: All right. [SPEAKER_04]: What is in this wonderful cassava cocktail? [SPEAKER_09]: It's called a cassava cocktail. [SPEAKER_09]: You need a shaker, some ice. [SPEAKER_09]: Mixing glass, because that's important. [SPEAKER_04]: You need both a shaker and a mixing glass. [SPEAKER_04]: You'll find out why in a minute.
[SPEAKER_09]: Totally different. [SPEAKER_09]: A pretty cool, cool glass, like we always do. [SPEAKER_09]: Two ounces of light gold rum. [SPEAKER_09]: And now molasses kind of thing. [SPEAKER_04]: Right, exactly. [SPEAKER_04]: You know, if you're, if you're dream shop person says, you know, was the flavor profiles and molasses. [SPEAKER_09]: There you got one to three-year-old molasses. [SPEAKER_09]: Quarera's orange carousel. [SPEAKER_04]: Got it. [SPEAKER_09]: Very yummy, by the way.
[SPEAKER_09]: Quarera's of Luxarda, Marxino Licker. [SPEAKER_09]: We've had that before. [SPEAKER_04]: Lots times, yeah. [SPEAKER_09]: Quarera's of lime juice. [SPEAKER_09]: We always do everything when I say juice. [SPEAKER_09]: It's always fresh. [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly, squeeze your juice squeeze it babies get your mind out of the gutter over there.
[SPEAKER_09]: We got to do the drink Core ounce of lime juice squeezed quarter ounce of lemon juice freshly squeezed and a sixth of now So it's dinner of two inch rich simple syrup right
[SPEAKER_09]: four drops of angostor al-am-al-am-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al-al
[SPEAKER_09]: which is basically one is egg one is it's for vegans and it's got really good alliteration and the garnish is an orange zest twist so you pour all the ingredients in ingredients ingredients
[SPEAKER_09]: I need to go to bat including the ice including the ice into the shaker shaker port everything then into the missing glass strain it back into the shaker without the ice so you're going to do it right so first you put it in the shaker everything with the ice chill it chill port into the mixing glass and then you straighten it back in the shaker without the ice and you shake it without the ice so it's a whole [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you.
[SPEAKER_04]: You're getting it, uh, uh, fallables in it, if you will, er, er, er, er, er, er, there you are. [SPEAKER_09]: That's the best word. [SPEAKER_09]: And then you find straight it into the coop glass and they express the orange zest and use it as garnet. [SPEAKER_09]: And because you said here's looking to you, kid. [SPEAKER_04]: I thought that was just the perfect tag. [SPEAKER_04]: It's a perfect, you know, if you fix the drink to your friends and you say, here's looking at you, kid.
[SPEAKER_04]: And they say, I cast a blanket cut there. [SPEAKER_04]: What are you talking about? [SPEAKER_04]: No, it's good. [SPEAKER_09]: It sounds yummy too, doesn't it? [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, yeah, and it's pretty. [SPEAKER_09]: If you look at the pictures, I'm going to make one of those. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, we can. [SPEAKER_04]: It's good. [SPEAKER_04]: If you guys missed any part of the drink of the day, you guys know what to do. [SPEAKER_04]: Scribe the politics bar.
[SPEAKER_04]: Let's see here. [SPEAKER_04]: We are since we were banging around in the entertainment section there. [SPEAKER_04]: This is, if you don't know, this is college football's rivalry week, rivalry weekend. [SPEAKER_04]: They call it basically that is starting. [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if my Huskers are going to do against Iowa. [SPEAKER_04]: I always hope they beat Iowa because Nebraska is better than Iowa. [SPEAKER_04]: And anyway, I will stand by that.
[SPEAKER_04]: Just like, you know, fill the same the other day that we want Michigan to beat Ohio State. [SPEAKER_04]: Unless you don't have a state fan, I'm not going to, you know, yeah, cure y'all. [SPEAKER_04]: That's your deal. [SPEAKER_04]: Whatever. [SPEAKER_04]: Just saying handcuffs. [SPEAKER_04]: But I know I know I know, but you know, look, a lot of people can be watching football. [SPEAKER_04]: And if you don't like football this weekend, ain't nothing wrong with that either.
[SPEAKER_09]: They're Thanksgiving programs are tomorrow. [SPEAKER_04]: So hey, and, in fact, there's the parades. [SPEAKER_04]: There's the dog show. [SPEAKER_04]: And you can probably look on some of the people happening again. [SPEAKER_04]: I think so. [SPEAKER_04]: I think so also some of the Olympic stuff because the Olympic flame has begun. [SPEAKER_04]: It's journey from Greece to an a lot of Cortina winter. [SPEAKER_09]: Oh nice. [SPEAKER_04]: So they had it.
[SPEAKER_04]: They had to begin and I'm rain though. [SPEAKER_04]: So they had to kind of do some weird stuff. [SPEAKER_04]: You can you can check out the video. [SPEAKER_04]: I've seen that up on YouTube already. [SPEAKER_04]: So there you go. [SPEAKER_04]: And if you go to YouTube, you can check out a few of the clips that we got there. [SPEAKER_04]: We will put up more clips over the holiday, right? [SPEAKER_04]: Because, you know, my god of things.
[SPEAKER_04]: I'm here and at least some of the days I'm going to be born. [SPEAKER_04]: So. [SPEAKER_04]: All right, Joni, what have we got next hour? [SPEAKER_04]: Mr. Setska, what have we been doing here, is that correct? [SPEAKER_04]: All right, we got Bob Setska coming in. [SPEAKER_04]: We're more of the news on tap for the day. [SPEAKER_04]: It is a thanksgiving evening. [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you very much. [SPEAKER_04]: If you missed it earlier, look, you can go down the hall.
[SPEAKER_04]: Do your thing here at his top of the hour, you know? [SPEAKER_04]: And if you want to get one of those shirts, it says, we aim to please you aim to please. [SPEAKER_04]: Check out the store. [SPEAKER_04]: Please, it's there at the politicsbar.com. [SPEAKER_04]: We'll be back in just a couple of minutes with the next round on a Wednesday night. [SPEAKER_04]: Hang on. [SPEAKER_07]: We'll be right back after we pay some bills at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_06]: I got to the bar.
[SPEAKER_06]: It's political. [SPEAKER_06]: I got to the bar. [SPEAKER_05]: Pinky, radical. [SPEAKER_05]: You think at the bar, wherever you are? [SPEAKER_06]: The politics bar. [SPEAKER_06]: Shotsmith, Pearson, Jodie, Hamilton. [SPEAKER_08]: Jodie! [SPEAKER_08]: Sean, I need to Michael. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, Joe is getting tired. [SPEAKER_04]: Some of you are getting tired as well, but don't worry.
[SPEAKER_04]: We will push through for one more hour to hang out with you here at the politics bar on a Thanksgiving evening. [SPEAKER_04]: Bob Cesska is coming and he'll bolster your spirits a little bit. [SPEAKER_04]: He always does. [SPEAKER_04]: He's great. [SPEAKER_04]: We love Bob. [SPEAKER_04]: He is, well, you know, he will play if everyone gets here. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm not going to play it now. [SPEAKER_04]: He's a pop-up. [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_04]: He's a pop-up.
[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you, by the way, to everybody coming in from all of the great places you are around the country, whether you are listening to a George now radio and the T.L. [SPEAKER_04]: Or A.M. 950 and Minneapolis Saint Paul. [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe you were listening to a detour talk in Tennessee or A.M. A20 Chicago WCPT or progressive voices radio worldwide, wherever you happen to be. [SPEAKER_04]: So thank you. [SPEAKER_04]: And if you're staying in the podcast, we appreciate that too.
[SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_04]: Since I mentioned Tennessee, just now. [SPEAKER_04]: and I want to focus on some better news, some good news, some positive news in the election land section of the news on Tap today. [SPEAKER_04]: I put a little clip by the way of Afton Baine when she was on MS now this last weekend. [SPEAKER_04]: I think she's a really great candidate. [SPEAKER_09]: I think so too. [SPEAKER_09]: I think she's amazing. [SPEAKER_04]: So here's the thing with Afton Baine.
[SPEAKER_04]: She's in Tennessee, [SPEAKER_04]: The latest poll to come out is a poll from a right-leaning poll unit. [SPEAKER_04]: They voted for Trump by 22 points in Tennessee, 07. [SPEAKER_04]: She is now in a statistical tie, two points behind the Republican. [SPEAKER_04]: So, gotta say, wow. [SPEAKER_04]: That's huge.
[SPEAKER_04]: Also, I will credit the folks who are on the ground there, whether you are listening there on the D2 or talk, or whether you are listening in any other way possible. [SPEAKER_04]: And you know somebody who's there and you're not there, but you know somebody, this is the kind of, one of the ground stuff that we saw here in Virginia, you saw a lot of places around the country this year with these elections.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yep. [SPEAKER_04]: The people are saying, I have had it, and I want somebody, I want government that works, that works for me, that works better, but I want government that works. [SPEAKER_04]: and she really knows her stuff. [SPEAKER_04]: If you haven't gotten honored, if you know somebody who's in that area and you're like, you know, you haven't necessarily, that'll hold a lot to push them. [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know, how many people do you know?
[SPEAKER_04]: A whole lot of people in Tennessee, Jodie? [SPEAKER_09]: Uh, I know two. [SPEAKER_09]: No, no, wait. [SPEAKER_09]: Six. [SPEAKER_09]: Wait. [SPEAKER_09]: Seven. [SPEAKER_09]: In Nashville. [SPEAKER_09]: All of them are in Nashville. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay. [SPEAKER_04]: Here's the question. [SPEAKER_04]: Are they in Western Nashville? [SPEAKER_04]: They have part of the Western suburbs there.
[SPEAKER_04]: Um, I, I have their addresses, but I don't know if you are in basically Davidson County, Montgomery County, it's Clarksville, uh, yes, the the monkey song. [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, last training club, that's fun song. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, Williamson County, um, that's that's Franklin Tennessee. [SPEAKER_04]: Basically, if you're in that area and some people think, oh, Tennessee, it's a bunch of Hicks.
[SPEAKER_04]: Williamson County, by the way, is one of the wealthiest counties in the country. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: So no, not Hicks. [SPEAKER_04]: That's where a lot of the Nashville folks live. [SPEAKER_04]: So saying, if you're listening in that area, yeah, to now go or live near there, I believe so, yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: So that's, that's, that's, that's where Tennessee 7 is. [SPEAKER_04]: I have to aim. [SPEAKER_04]: She's she's no joke.
[SPEAKER_04]: So you should find out more about her. [SPEAKER_04]: She's great. [SPEAKER_04]: D.C. is mural uh bowser may or mural bowser uh she's ran for three term. [SPEAKER_04]: She's in her third term. [SPEAKER_04]: She's not going to run for a fourth. [SPEAKER_04]: She says she's done. [SPEAKER_08]: I think she's right. [SPEAKER_04]: I understand that um having to deal with Donnie and his mega monsters and D.C. not having D.C. needs to be its own state.
[SPEAKER_09]: I know there's a way because how the law is, it's weird. [SPEAKER_09]: So it's got to be kind of carved out to make it a state. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, I'm going to have to do something in DC once they do. [SPEAKER_04]: Once we get enough Democrats in there to actually make DC a state. [SPEAKER_04]: First of all, DC would get one representative in two senators.
[SPEAKER_09]: Yes. [SPEAKER_04]: Like everywhere else, except for there's way more people in DC than there are in places like Wyoming. [SPEAKER_09]: I know, and don't get me started on the House of Representatives, especially in my state. [SPEAKER_04]: You and I agree on that. [SPEAKER_04]: You and I agree 100% on that. [SPEAKER_09]: I mean, there's enough room for more people. [SPEAKER_04]: We need a major dojo kasa. [SPEAKER_04]: I know the same word, stop it anyway.
[SPEAKER_09]: Did you just say that? [SPEAKER_09]: You did. [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, yes, I did. [SPEAKER_04]: I almost made your spit take. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm sorry, it's funny anyway. [SPEAKER_04]: It's trying to make Jody laugh, and I was successful. [SPEAKER_04]: So yay for me. [SPEAKER_09]: Don't your kasa. [SPEAKER_09]: Oh my god, I can't believe you just said that. [SPEAKER_04]: the Barbie movie. [SPEAKER_04]: I like that movie. [SPEAKER_04]: Anyway.
[SPEAKER_04]: So, but the idea is, yes, the house needs to be increased. [SPEAKER_04]: But first thing first is we got to do some things and when we get the chance, we're going to have to get DC back because DC doesn't have, they don't have control over so many things.
[SPEAKER_04]: And because so much of DC has federal, it's federal buildings, federal land, there's going to have to be a whole bunch of carvup and [SPEAKER_04]: But I still think overall the most important thing is that DC is allowed to become its its own it's only has its own representation it doesn't right now right one of the one of the biggest ways if you've been to DC I love that town I like yeah you're in the metro yes okay [SPEAKER_04]: I like the new work cars that they have out here.
[SPEAKER_04]: They're nice, some of the cars that are out in LA or San Francisco actually all came from the Kawasaki plant that I used to work at in Nebraska. [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, I used to work at a Kawasaki manufacturing plant anyway. [SPEAKER_04]: One of the many jobs I've had and they're nice cars, they're really nice to be in cars.
[SPEAKER_04]: What, um, the system itself has problems, one of the biggest problems that you find with the Metro System in DC is that the way that they do the budgeting for it, there is DC, Virginia, and Maryland, each one is supposed to have basically a third. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, and they say, oh, we make the budget and this is what we're going to come to the table with. [SPEAKER_04]: and oftentimes then Republicans come and they kick and punch and beat the hell out of DC.
[SPEAKER_04]: So that way they can go tell their their people back home. [SPEAKER_04]: See, I kicked a hell out of stupid DC folks, lousy bastards. [SPEAKER_04]: Right. [SPEAKER_04]: It's it's all performative. [SPEAKER_04]: It's all a bunch of garbage. [SPEAKER_04]: But [SPEAKER_04]: they do that and they take money in your way. [SPEAKER_04]: And because DC is effectively ruled by the House of Representing it is at its most top level, they can a lot more easily take money away.
[SPEAKER_04]: So then remember DC, just agreed, three pieces of the pie, everybody gets an equal piece of pie.
[SPEAKER_04]: And then DC has to come back to Maryland of Virginia and say, yeah, remember that money I promised you, [SPEAKER_04]: And so then the system is constantly short of money, which means that the system itself is not as good a public transportation system as it could be in the capital of the United States so because yeah, it does sound like this taxation without representation to me correct. [SPEAKER_04]: get a problem, so it's T-baggers, anyway.
[SPEAKER_09]: No, the original T-party, I'm talking Boston. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yes. [SPEAKER_04]: That one, too. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: I can add. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it is, but that's the whole thing is, it is taxation without representations. [SPEAKER_04]: Same with the version islands, Puerto Rico, and any of the seven territories that we have includes DC, yeah. [SPEAKER_09]: So we are an empire.
[SPEAKER_04]: Whether we like it or not, and I would firmly like to get rid of all the territories and actually have us just be, you know, have to be states if they want to be exactly if they don't let let them go let Guam go let Guam go let them go let there's so many places if they're like peace out, I want to be my own thing no, let us find you you'll have off the bus that's up to you will let you out, but no, thank you so.
[SPEAKER_04]: So that's my my thing, but anyway, it's understandable that Mary may or real Bowser just come with her on that, I just, I understand. [SPEAKER_04]: Imagine the Indiana Indian thing as well, and it is something you guys should look into a little bit more that is does happen to be in the news on tap. [SPEAKER_04]: I want to give a little credit where to.
[SPEAKER_04]: uh... this actually happens to be under the uh... second round today under the republicans can't govern section so i know this will surprise absolutely no one here in the bar uh... Donald trump and maga they are trying to take credit for the twelve billion dollars in savings coming from the medicare drug price negotiations yes jodie last casheard he jodie
[SPEAKER_04]: Where is this in law that medicare is is bargaining to get these 15,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_09]: We're, you're acronym, but I'm there with that. [SPEAKER_04]: Hey, you know, they, they decided Republicans do that all the time. [SPEAKER_04]: You know, Republicans have the, you know, the bill to, you know, let's kill the pregnant women only they don't want to actually, you know, be honest about it. [SPEAKER_09]: So they say, you know, get me started with North Dakota. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, exactly.
[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, so that's why that that's why it was called the inflation reduction act and to a lot of degrees if everything had been followed through would have reduced inflation. [SPEAKER_04]: One of the things inflated price of drugs. [SPEAKER_04]: So it is set on a schedule to release a certain number of drugs and force them to be negotiated. [SPEAKER_04]: Force the big drug companies to negotiate their 15 drugs they're coming up starting in 2007.
[SPEAKER_04]: and they are just being announced what the drugs are. [SPEAKER_04]: We've got the list. [SPEAKER_04]: You can check it out, but it's important to note that a lot of the mainstream media wants again failed because they were like, oh, yes, well, this is happening in the Trump. [SPEAKER_04]: They made it sound like the Trump administration did it. [SPEAKER_04]: And they didn't. [SPEAKER_04]: It was a Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Democratic Congress thing.
[SPEAKER_04]: And when you get those, a lot cheaper drugs, you can thank Democrats for that, because it ain't anything that Donnie or the Republicans have done. [SPEAKER_04]: Not a damn thing that I've done. [SPEAKER_04]: So don't, don't think them. [SPEAKER_04]: They didn't do squat.
[SPEAKER_04]: No, no, no. [SPEAKER_04]: It is, by the way, a thanksgiving evening, and obviously when Bob gets here, we will, you know, talk to him about Thanksgiving, figure what he's going to be doing, and, and, you know, see what, see what his holiday has done. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, hey, I'm just talking about you. [SPEAKER_04]: He's here. [SPEAKER_04]: The one, the only Bob says, yeah, I didn't, I didn't see it there first, Bob. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm doing good.
[SPEAKER_03]: My screen is a little weird looking, but okay. [SPEAKER_02]: You look great. [SPEAKER_09]: So that's just a matter. [SPEAKER_04]: You look great. [SPEAKER_04]: You're a little bit dark, but it's tired because we are at the end of a busy short week. [SPEAKER_04]: This is not only our last show for live show, at least for the week. [SPEAKER_04]: I believe this is your last live show for the week, too. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: Absolutely.
[SPEAKER_04]: See. [SPEAKER_04]: So look at this. [SPEAKER_04]: We are all going to be taking a break and doing thanks, give any things. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, by the way, did you see my shirt? [SPEAKER_04]: That was nice. [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, Pac-Man, a pumpkin pie as Pac-Man, eating three whipped cream blobs. [SPEAKER_09]: Say like whipped cream on my pumpkin pie. [SPEAKER_04]: I like whipped cream. [SPEAKER_04]: OK, what's your favorite pie, Jodie? [SPEAKER_09]: Just chocolate cream, maybe.
[SPEAKER_04]: That's a good one, Bob. [SPEAKER_03]: uh... good wow good question uh... you know what chalk i'm going to go with what jodys answer was i like it because i yeah i mean i'm going to mention something controversial here i do not like pumpkin pie i don't know i'm not either don't pick on i don't like either you can't apply uh... some people can't some people say i hate pumpkin but i like sweet potato and then others are the inverse on that and i'm like i'll take us like a bullfunker
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know that I've ever had sweet potato. [SPEAKER_09]: It's, it's not, no. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, okay, Johnny is like, I like it. [SPEAKER_04]: I like it, but I like, I like most pies, most pies are, I'm pretty good with you. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, it's like if somebody says, here's a, you know, whatever pie, I'm like, you know, English meat pie, okay, fine. [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, you know, I'm pretty good with pie regardless, that's just me.
[SPEAKER_03]: Sureing up all kinds of controversy on social media. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm sure of course I've seen people on glue skies today going.
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm gonna stop talking about pies because You know why I [SPEAKER_04]: I in afraid of talking about pies or patriotism, obviously, we can talk about the Maga Monster calling Patriots Traders because we talked about that a little in the first hour and we know Bob definitely has a little bit to say on that as well and we'll talk to Bob a little bit about Trek politics. [SPEAKER_04]: There's some clips that you and Mary have out there. [SPEAKER_04]: They're just hilarious.
[SPEAKER_04]: I saw some of those on social media. [SPEAKER_04]: Talk to Bob about all of that as well. [SPEAKER_04]: Look, fresh enough your drink. [SPEAKER_04]: Bob Cesska is here to help you and me and Jodi close out this Thanksgiving evening with, uh, man. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm glad to be hanging out here with you and you and especially Jodi of all. [SPEAKER_04]: So thank you guys for hanging out with us. [SPEAKER_04]: We'll be right back with more from the politics bar. [SPEAKER_04]: Hang on.
[SPEAKER_07]: We'll be right back after we pay some bills at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_04]: It is a Wednesday night. [SPEAKER_04]: You guys know what that means around here? [SPEAKER_04]: The idea of a pop-up, like, whoa! [SPEAKER_04]: The one, the only Bob Sasko in the house. [SPEAKER_04]: I was going to give you a proper intro. [SPEAKER_04]: Even though I know you came in, you know, just a couple minutes here before the break.
[SPEAKER_04]: But, you know, it's a lot more fun to do the proper intro. [SPEAKER_04]: Simply because, you know, we have that Chris Hayes clip for you specifically. [SPEAKER_04]: So, that's right. [SPEAKER_03]: It goes along with the minute. [SPEAKER_04]: It goes along with the Rachel Maddo clip where she's like, hi, Bob. [SPEAKER_03]: Right, I wish that was actually her saying hi to me. [SPEAKER_03]: That was from a segment she did in which, oh, I remember what that was.
[SPEAKER_03]: That's when healthcare reform failed in the Senate. [SPEAKER_03]: I believe we're not. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: The repeal of the ACA failed in the Senate. [SPEAKER_03]: Donald was called by Robert Costa. [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, it was Bob Costa. [SPEAKER_03]: and Donna said hi-bob and Rachel was reporting on that story and she said hi-bob, and I agree. [SPEAKER_09]: But she did do a thing with your best headline, so there is that? [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah.
[SPEAKER_03]: I did win the Rachel Maddox Show Award for headline excellence. [SPEAKER_03]: See, so this is my time. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, this is really good. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you guys see that Glenn Kirchner who was like, you know, he swore off some of the cable nets and stuff and and yet, you know, Jensaki asked nicely and so he went on her show. [SPEAKER_04]: So while we were at the bar last night, he showed up over her. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, I mean, you know, [SPEAKER_04]: No, it's great.
[SPEAKER_04]: It's great for those of you for those of you who are listening, who are who have joined us in the bar, who found us through Glenn. [SPEAKER_04]: Hello. [SPEAKER_04]: Hello. [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, I'll play back even at the time. [SPEAKER_04]: It's great. [SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, it's really a sub-stack corner of the bar. [SPEAKER_04]: Glenn does a lot over in that corner. [SPEAKER_04]: So it's kind of.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [UNKNOWN]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: All right, Thanksgiving weekend is here. [SPEAKER_04]: And, you know, the question is, do we want to talk about some of the stupidity that these idiots have been dealing with with words like trader and treason and that kind of thing? [SPEAKER_04]: Or do we want to focus on more fun stuff? [SPEAKER_04]: Because, you know, I'm, I'm, I like fun. [SPEAKER_04]: I like fun stuff too. [SPEAKER_04]: Fun is fun with me. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm pro-law.
[SPEAKER_09]: Fun, fun. [SPEAKER_04]: Fun, wow. [SPEAKER_04]: So what are you going to be doing then for your Thanksgiving, Bob? [SPEAKER_03]: Well, we're going to see family on Thursday and then my family on Friday. [SPEAKER_03]: So Kimberly's family tomorrow, my family on Friday. [SPEAKER_03]: And then the rest of the weekend Saturday, Sunday, I'll be basically sitting here doing things. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know what we do. [SPEAKER_04]: Working exactly. [SPEAKER_04]: Like we all do.
[SPEAKER_09]: And your life's being on Sunday, right? [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah, I'm doing live streaming video on Patreon now. [SPEAKER_03]: I've entered the video world as you can tell on my social media feed. [SPEAKER_03]: It's nothing but clips of videos of me talking to people. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but it's cool. [SPEAKER_03]: It's a live stream, so yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: So you've got, so see your live stream.
[SPEAKER_04]: Is it John Sunday or do you do it, you know, when when you and Jodie and David are doing the show? [SPEAKER_04]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: So it's just no. [SPEAKER_03]: We don't we don't do video for Tuesdays and Thursdays. [SPEAKER_03]: I only record video for my live stream and for my Wednesday interviews. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: And that's it. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, and track politics. [SPEAKER_03]: We do videos. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, there.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I was going to say, because I see I saw some clips out there of of you and Mary on track politics, which, [SPEAKER_04]: Mary talks a lot with her hands. [SPEAKER_04]: I didn't realize how much she talked. [SPEAKER_09]: Oh, she Italian? [SPEAKER_04]: Wow, that, but you know, she's she does. [SPEAKER_04]: I do. [SPEAKER_09]: I like practically Italian when I talk. [SPEAKER_04]: I do so. [SPEAKER_04]: I do sometimes, but you know, but she is, I mean, it's funny.
[SPEAKER_04]: I just, I laugh because she was, I, the clip I saw and she was, and I was like laughing. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay. [SPEAKER_04]: I was like, okay, expressive, excellent. [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you, Mary. [SPEAKER_04]: It's very cool.
[SPEAKER_04]: So. [SPEAKER_03]: one of my favorite things about doing that show track politics is when I'm really nerding out like we do the segment at the end of the show called bobservations were you know I analyzed the show from really nerdy perspective like nitpicks and things like that little details about the episode and when I'm doing that I love watching marries reaction.
[SPEAKER_03]: her facial expressions as I'm completely geeking out about whatever episode of Star Trek we're talking about. [SPEAKER_03]: It's one of my favorite things about doing the show. [SPEAKER_03]: And then this past week we did an episode about the Star Trek episode Journey to Babel, which is an original series episode. [SPEAKER_03]: A lot of world building in that. [SPEAKER_03]: There's a murder mystery. [SPEAKER_03]: There's politics. [SPEAKER_03]: There's medical crisis.
[SPEAKER_03]: Two medical crisis. [SPEAKER_03]: The clerk gets stabbed in it for God's sake. [SPEAKER_03]: And then there's this whole family drama that plays out. [SPEAKER_03]: It's amazing. [SPEAKER_03]: But as we're talking about Thanksgiving, you know, Sorry. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Sure. [SPEAKER_03]: Sure. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: It's just close to a Thanksgiving episode as you'll ever see on the original series.
[SPEAKER_03]: But but at one point we were talking about how Dr. McCoy in this episode was unable to do the Vulcan solution. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: That's the clip that I saw. [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, I mean, it's easy and I can do it in my hand. [SPEAKER_03]: I can't do it. [SPEAKER_03]: My left hand doesn't go that way. [SPEAKER_04]: It's like, okay, take takes takes me a little more work in my left and my right. [SPEAKER_09]: Oh, they're both easy for me.
[SPEAKER_09]: I also have this weird thing that I do that. [SPEAKER_09]: So. [SPEAKER_04]: I don't see. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, no, but that was a really funny moment for Mary. [SPEAKER_03]: I thought Mary's remarks about that were hilarious. [SPEAKER_03]: It's great. [SPEAKER_04]: If you guys need to check out Bob Cesska's any of his his social because you put her on all your social stuff. [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_03]: Try to.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: I can't keep track of any of you. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, yeah, it's it takes several tools and things like that too for us to be able to try to do some of that stuff to it to try to keep up with all these folks and of course we have the bar line to where people can call and leave text messages or voicemails and communication with when it when it comes to media these being in media.
[SPEAKER_03]: is itself a it's a whole big thing oh yeah yeah it's I mean what we do is a 24 or seven thing because we were not actually doing our shows we're on social media promoting the shows we're studying in order to keep up with all the news stories that's the thing that's the most challenging I think people don't realize that but we have to be conversant on every single story that drops in the news especially in political news
[SPEAKER_03]: because you never know when you're going to be on a show like this and someone's going to ask you, hey, did you see that news story about such and such? [SPEAKER_03]: He did so and so and that's stupid thing. [SPEAKER_03]: And then you have to be able to remark on that, at least have some sort of interesting take about that story. [SPEAKER_03]: So that takes up a lot of time in and of itself. [SPEAKER_04]: A lot of the hosts that I've worked with over the years.
[SPEAKER_04]: have had, you know, similar to that. [SPEAKER_04]: And this is going back now, you know, 15, 16, 17 years when things were not as with social media and people weren't, if they listened to you, they had to listen to you live, they couldn't listen to you live and on a podcast and then roll it back and be like, you said these words, Chris, Levoy, and you know, but the the biggest one that I always had was when people would say when I work with Randy and they would be like,
[SPEAKER_04]: And Jodie, you and I do similar prepped to what, yeah, yeah, we do as, as you've seen, Joe, Bob that that we do, Jodie and I do just a, so this Bob, are you kidding me?
[SPEAKER_04]: No, no, he doesn't, he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't get he doesn't
[SPEAKER_04]: in the world well yeah over the course of working with her over 15 years uh we had calls from Malta and calls from uh oh god he happened I think from Australia, Japan um was it's [SPEAKER_04]: Switzerland, I mean you get the Kazakhstan, whatever. [SPEAKER_04]: I don't think Kazakhstan, but I mean we had, and the rule was this. [SPEAKER_04]: There are a lot of shows out there that are calling shows. [SPEAKER_04]: And their rule is you have to be on topic.
[SPEAKER_04]: You have to be specific. [SPEAKER_04]: And you call was something that's not on topic and they won't let you on the show. [SPEAKER_04]: It's just how it is. [SPEAKER_04]: Her rule was always, can I get your name or are you from? [SPEAKER_04]: Does your phone sound okay? [SPEAKER_04]: Can I trust that you're not going to swear? [SPEAKER_04]: that was those those are the rules.
[SPEAKER_04]: The guy who would the guy who would start up and be like, um, you know, you call up and you, you know, is the Randy Roadshow going to get your name and where you're from and he goes, oh, I'm from, you know, drops an F bomb or an S bomb or whatever and you're like, okay, well, thank you and you know immediately, you can't trust this guy on the air because he is on a swear.
[SPEAKER_09]: Oh, no, when Lonnie answered phones for Stephanie, several years ago, [SPEAKER_09]: for Yenira, who is on vacation. [SPEAKER_09]: He got told that he was a abortion killer. [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, and it's like, okay, and then other people calling go, I don't wanna talk to Stephanie, I just wanna talk to you. [SPEAKER_04]: I just wanna, can you just pass on a message to your host for me?
[SPEAKER_04]: But the idea was that when I worked with Randy G. did this, the reason that she did it is that someday she was like the news is just too hard and she would dive in. [SPEAKER_04]: So somebody would call with a question from about rock and roll or movie or whatever.
[SPEAKER_04]: And she would just take the call from wherever they were and sometimes get into these amazingly great conversations like you do at a bar like you know people who are [SPEAKER_04]: I agree, yes, I guess you would say. [SPEAKER_09]: We're like, Mr. Cesca who just got the amazing, yes, album covers. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah, those album covers too. [SPEAKER_04]: Those are, I can awesome, man. [SPEAKER_04]: Those are, I, I, can I, can I tell people at a school?
[SPEAKER_04]: Lobas, I'm that you kind of showed me, you, you showed me a preview. [SPEAKER_04]: here a few weeks back before before you before this was this was all done kind of was okay. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Was it like the summer when you were showing me a preview? [SPEAKER_03]: It might have been because I was working on these covers back in this for this particular release, which is called Yes Symphonic Live. [SPEAKER_03]: It's their live album.
[SPEAKER_03]: They released originally in 2002, which they're re-assuring now. [SPEAKER_03]: And I did the original artwork back then. [SPEAKER_03]: And I did reimagine new artwork for the reissue now. [SPEAKER_03]: But I was working on that through like the latter half of 2024 into the first couple of months of 2025. [SPEAKER_03]: So you must be here anywhere in the spirit of time and which you can go. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I don't know.
[SPEAKER_04]: At one point, we got to do a discussion about it. [SPEAKER_09]: It's beautiful artwork, by the way. [SPEAKER_04]: It's just done. [SPEAKER_04]: Here's a preview. [SPEAKER_04]: Don't tell anybody about it. [SPEAKER_04]: Don't show it around. [SPEAKER_04]: And I was like, oh, that kicks ass. [SPEAKER_04]: And it's even better. [SPEAKER_04]: The final is even gorgeous. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, thanks. [SPEAKER_03]: I appreciate that.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it was just a blast to have that kind of opportunity to be able to work with yes, and especially knowing their legacy as far as album covers go album arts leave art whatever you want to call it going back to the 70s and one of the greatest artists doing album covers and other work of our time Roger Dean. [SPEAKER_03]: and then being able to come in and substitute for him.
[SPEAKER_03]: I make sure to use the word substitute not replace, because no one can replace the great Roger Dean. [SPEAKER_03]: And so I think yes, wanted a different look for these couple of albums that they released about 20, 25 years ago. [SPEAKER_03]: And so I locked in to being able to do a couple of different sleeve designs, sleeve illustrations for them. [SPEAKER_03]: One for their studio album magnification.
[SPEAKER_03]: And then they had me back to do the live album from that tour called Symphonic Live, which they're reassuring now. [SPEAKER_03]: That's true. [SPEAKER_03]: So there was just a phenomenal opportunity. [SPEAKER_03]: It was a real challenge. [SPEAKER_03]: Of course, certainly back, you know, 20, 25 years ago, 2001, 2002, when I first started doing that. [SPEAKER_03]: But now with age and better skills as far as being able to do CG modeling and texture mapping and things like that.
[SPEAKER_03]: I feel as though, well, I was glad to have that opportunity because then I could use some of those skills that had developed in the subsequent years. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I'm pleased with being able to have that opportunity. [SPEAKER_03]: And I hope the fans enjoy it. [SPEAKER_03]: You know, there's another album that they're kind of doing in a reverse order. [SPEAKER_03]: Sometime next year, they're going to reissue magnification, which is yes is 2001 album.
[SPEAKER_03]: for which I also did new artwork. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's different. [SPEAKER_03]: It's got a different vibe than the symphonic live artwork, but it's still, I think, certainly a step above what I delivered 25 [SPEAKER_09]: I just get the Lonnie a tablet. [SPEAKER_09]: You finally has to draw on. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah, those are great. [SPEAKER_03]: That's yeah, that's what I use.
[SPEAKER_03]: And I want to emphasize, too, that with Symphonic Live and that's Leviart, I didn't use any AI. [SPEAKER_03]: It's all CG or hand drawn. [SPEAKER_04]: Right. [SPEAKER_04]: That is important for a lot of us, not to have AI. [SPEAKER_04]: Although thankfully, the argument that I'm starting to see surface more, which is thankfully, is that people are starting to understand there's a difference between intelligence and language.
[SPEAKER_04]: A lot of these things that people call AI aren't AI, they are LLMs, large language models. [SPEAKER_04]: Think we like the difference between somebody intelligent and jarger or banks. [SPEAKER_04]: You know, I'm looking if you remember it was a whole thing of I can speak in quite guns like yes, but that doesn't make you intelligent, which I mean, you know, yes.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: I do want to say that while I didn't use any AI for the art itself, I did use some of Photoshop's generative compositing tools, like the latest editions of Photoshop. [SPEAKER_03]: Now, you can edit a photo, you can edit artwork, using [SPEAKER_03]: What essentially is AI, but you know, it's not you're not creating new artwork, you're just revising and compositing the artwork you've already. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, that's fine.
[SPEAKER_04]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: And sometimes for why not. [SPEAKER_04]: It's a, it's a, a newer sharper version of the clone tool. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_03]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_03]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: I just wish I just wish on these stupid little phones that we have. [SPEAKER_04]: I had back in the day, I had a palm pre, which is a great phone. [SPEAKER_04]: And you could get the albums that they were huge.
[SPEAKER_04]: And they started to do that a little bit better on the iPhone and on some of the Android phones, but I still think they could still do the music for a lot of the music players better, so you could see the artwork, so you could... [SPEAKER_04]: click on it and zoom in and you can really look because that's what I want to be able to do is when somebody has a really kick-ass piece of artwork that's attached to a piece of music.
[SPEAKER_04]: I bought the music, you know, I bought it on wherever and you know, or I got the CD and then you know, put it in or whatever. [SPEAKER_04]: However, I got the piece of music. [SPEAKER_04]: I want to be able to really take a good look at it. [SPEAKER_04]: Like you used to be able to with your vinyls where you could look really close, you could put it right for your face. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and it's, uh, you can't do that on your phone.
[SPEAKER_04]: It's mostly the time you want to. [SPEAKER_04]: So, yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Tell it, guys. [SPEAKER_04]: Alright, it is, uh, I know it's, it feels like a Friday. [SPEAKER_04]: I get it, it's not. [SPEAKER_04]: It's a Wednesday night, but it is Wednesday of the Thanksgiving holiday week. [SPEAKER_04]: So, here's what we're gonna do, uh, one last round on this Wednesday night. [SPEAKER_04]: One more, one more journey says she's gonna hit the night quill here.
[SPEAKER_04]: So that way she just hit the floor. [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, he's gonna go back to bed because I'm sooo, not feeling well. [SPEAKER_04]: So look, freshen up your drink. [SPEAKER_04]: We'll talk about that all here coming up. [SPEAKER_04]: So hang on, freshen up your drink and come right back. [SPEAKER_04]: Bob and Jody and me. [SPEAKER_04]: Here's politics bar on a Wednesday night. [SPEAKER_07]: We'll be right back after we pay some bills at the politics bar.
[SPEAKER_04]: Wednesday night here at the politics bar last call for alcohol hell you here. [SPEAKER_04]: I know it's a stupid joke every time I say it and it's still funny It made Bob laugh, so there you go. [SPEAKER_04]: Show me and me and Bob says hanging out with you.
[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you very much, by the way, for everybody who was hanging out with us from whatever corner of the Well remember, you can always reach out to us on all of our social media platforms at the politics bar and of course if you miss anything the best thing to do is subscribe
[SPEAKER_04]: the politics bar podcast and of course you can subscribe at the politics bar dot com six dollars a month less than a buck fifty week can you get a coffee for that so look go subscribe and help keep joody and me and drinks and food shots we had a shot oh my friend Jamie from France I don't know if you saw this either of you guys saw this over on blue sky this morning she was like oh
[SPEAKER_04]: Oh my god you got you mentioned me as again we mentioned you guys night here in the bar and she's like I can't believe it and yes you we were talking all about it it was fun and of course we were talking about the drink of the day yesterday which was that shot was the B 52 right that par fascia which was great so of course now in the break here we were talking about sickness because uh jodys been fighting the illness we told you earlier in the bar oh last night Bob my wife got sick at four in the morning so I had to get up and
[SPEAKER_04]: change sheets and stuff. [SPEAKER_04]: That was, that was a good time. [SPEAKER_04]: That's a good time. [SPEAKER_09]: She didn't have a good time in her stomach, apparently. [SPEAKER_04]: No, no. [SPEAKER_04]: But you were, you were, you were, you were, you were telling us about earlier this year when you were supposed to be on Georgia from Jersey's show. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: And the day before I decided to get three vaccines the day before.
[SPEAKER_04]: You did the one thing you should never do with the doctor's office or the bar. [SPEAKER_04]: When they offer you all the shots, you say no. [SPEAKER_03]: I know stupid stupid me. [SPEAKER_03]: I got the flu vaccine. [SPEAKER_03]: I got the pneumonia vaccine and I got the shingles vaccine all in Oh shingles is gonna mess you up [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, and then I had to go back for the second because shingles comes in too.
[SPEAKER_03]: You have to get two injections and I got the three, you know, the initial shingles, the flu and pneumonia all at the same time. [SPEAKER_03]: And the next day I had to actually cancel my appearance on Joe Joe from Jersey's show because I just felt like the floor of a taxi cab. [SPEAKER_03]: I just felt like it just utterly disgusting and dismal and [SPEAKER_04]: Crowley about like probably about like my wife did, or, you know, unfortunately, look at this.
[SPEAKER_04]: Jody's been powering through though. [SPEAKER_04]: That's the thing. [SPEAKER_04]: We got to give Jody a pause for powering through this week, which has been good. [SPEAKER_09]: That's why it was only on Stephanie Show for one hour on Tuesday. [SPEAKER_04]: And you came in from the bar, which I was, I was like, okay, wait a minute. [SPEAKER_04]: Jody came from the bar to Steph's show. [SPEAKER_04]: That's awesome. [SPEAKER_04]: That shows that Jody is working here at the bar.
[SPEAKER_04]: all the time. [SPEAKER_03]: And I had no idea because Jodi was on my podcast yesterday and you didn't even mention it. [SPEAKER_03]: I had no idea that you were sick and I couldn't tell at all so well done. [SPEAKER_03]: You're like the Lou Garry of podcast. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, thank you very much. [SPEAKER_03]: Really old time ago. [SPEAKER_09]: It's very old time. [SPEAKER_04]: We're all fine with it. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm fine. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, oh, you got a shoulder problem.
[SPEAKER_04]: That's fine. [SPEAKER_04]: I'll still hit 50 homers in a season. [SPEAKER_04]: Sure. [SPEAKER_04]: Why not? [SPEAKER_04]: What the hell? [SPEAKER_04]: You know, you can barely pitch, but show me. [SPEAKER_04]: He's fine. [SPEAKER_09]: He's fine. [SPEAKER_09]: I can't even move this. [SPEAKER_04]: Although he did say this week. [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if we had a don't remember if we had it in the entertainment section of the news on tap this short week.
[SPEAKER_04]: But he said he said he's going to play for Japan in the world baseball classic coming up. [SPEAKER_04]: I think it's next year. [SPEAKER_04]: Um, so I'm like, hey, whatever, I mean, he played in the World Baseball Classic last time for Japan and helped Japan win. [SPEAKER_04]: So, whatever, I mean, that's his home country. [SPEAKER_04]: I get it. [SPEAKER_04]: That's fine. [SPEAKER_04]: Hey, whatever, you know, look, he's a fantastic player.
[SPEAKER_04]: Your Dodgers won the series. [SPEAKER_04]: I love my Dodgers. [SPEAKER_04]: Dioers. [SPEAKER_04]: Dioers, and you're, and you're very glad that the Dodgers won the World Series this year. [SPEAKER_09]: I am, but if Toronto wanted to be also happy, so I'm good.
[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know, can you imagine if Toronto had won, I mean, first of all, you would have just a whole bunch of you, like Lauren Holly, for example, great after she would have been absolutely carrying the flag running up a down the street, you know, Toronto wants. [SPEAKER_04]: She's a huge Toronto fan. [SPEAKER_03]: And also from Russia. [SPEAKER_09]: Getty Lee, absolutely. [SPEAKER_09]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_09]: You're best friend. [SPEAKER_09]: I mean, I was best friends.
[SPEAKER_04]: He would give him tickets. [SPEAKER_04]: That's, I'm saying, just saying. [SPEAKER_09]: Honestly, Bob, he loves him tickets. [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, he does. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm sure he does. [SPEAKER_04]: But the thing that I would have loved to have seen is to have the Canadian Prime Minister invite the team to obviously meeting somewhere. [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, they could what do it wherever.
[SPEAKER_04]: You know, maybe do it at a [SPEAKER_04]: And I'm sure that, you know, [SPEAKER_04]: Trump normally they they invite all the if you win majorly baseball or NFL or NDA or WNB or they invite all the teams because that's what they do And you know probably would have put at the invite and they would have been like no No, no, we're we're gonna go see the Prime Minister Canada now. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we're not gonna show up.
[SPEAKER_03]: We don't want to be arrested and sent to a third party Thank you I want to be extradited to Sudan cook a Caroline's nephew's mother [SPEAKER_09]: was just arrested by ice. [SPEAKER_04]: Yep. [SPEAKER_04]: We got that story in the news on tap. [SPEAKER_04]: There is some speculation that. [SPEAKER_04]: So Caroline's brother had a child who is now 11 or 12. [SPEAKER_04]: He's 11. [SPEAKER_04]: His woman. [SPEAKER_04]: He's 11. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and she was in the DACA program.
[SPEAKER_04]: She was brought here as a kid. [SPEAKER_04]: And there is some speculation that there is some, I guess the kid lit up his dad most of the time. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, let's finally see his mom and there he is. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, but I guess they get visitation and whatever and I guess there's been some conflict. [SPEAKER_04]: So there's some question as to, hey, did Caroline call ICE on her nephew's mother?
[SPEAKER_04]: I have no facts on that, but going if that's the case, that is yet another example of the Trump regime totally abusing and weaponizing government. [SPEAKER_04]: Yep. [SPEAKER_04]: And honestly, would it surprise you if she did? [SPEAKER_04]: No. [SPEAKER_03]: No, wouldn't surprise me at all. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: This is what they do.
[SPEAKER_03]: They think that the government is them that they are one in the same and therefore it's like they've taken over a company or something and that they can do whatever they want. [SPEAKER_03]: But it's not. [SPEAKER_03]: This is about public services, about serving the public. [SPEAKER_03]: It's not about serving Donald Trump or serving Carolyn Levitt. [SPEAKER_03]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_03]: Whatever family issues she might have.
[SPEAKER_04]: I can't believe it hasn't yet burned into, right here. [SPEAKER_04]: I would dis someday, maybe. [SPEAKER_04]: You know, whole thing like Raiders of the Lost Ark. [SPEAKER_03]: But this is what happens to when you've got a group of people who's entire political education comes from watching things like Fox News Channel. [SPEAKER_03]: And you can skewed fantasy land impression of how politics works. [SPEAKER_03]: But that's not how politics works.
[SPEAKER_03]: because Fox News channel is entirely fictitious. [SPEAKER_03]: So, not news at all, exactly. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: And so, when we see them doing screwy things that we don't understand, it's because they're operating in this fictitious world that's entirely made up by Roger Rails and Rupert Murdoch. [SPEAKER_09]: Mm-hmm. [SPEAKER_09]: And Alza's gone. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Thank God. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: And he's Lockheed Murdoch now.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Ales is Ales is gone. [SPEAKER_04]: He is with the Cheney roasting in hell. [SPEAKER_08]: Yes. [SPEAKER_04]: They are accomplished. [SPEAKER_03]: All of the horrible things about Fox News that we've come to know and hate including the rampant misogyny and sexual assault.
[SPEAKER_04]: We'll look at the whole thing about the whole thing about Foxes that it is a, it is the first and biggest propaganda outlet here in the United States, but it's something that I think flew under the radar in this last week, even though this is only going to half week here, but the, the whole thing about, was it on Monday, Jody, the Twitter thing? [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, yes, you saw that Bob didn't you? [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, God, yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yes, about the country of origin.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: And then they find out that all these, these mega posters, these mega influencers are from countries and we talked to to Phil, I can't even hear his last name. [SPEAKER_04]: Itiner. [SPEAKER_04]: That's it. [SPEAKER_04]: Yes. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm sitting there going, I can see it on my head. [SPEAKER_04]: We talked to Phil Itiner who does a lot of recordings and a lot of reporting on Ukraine and stuff.
[SPEAKER_04]: And he was talking about how some sources that he talked about said some of the stuff goes all the way back to. [SPEAKER_04]: all the way back to when Donnie was first campaigning. [SPEAKER_04]: So we're talking now, you know, almost 11 years ago. [SPEAKER_04]: And you can guarantee this stuff with them getting in the social media and getting all, you know, people hating their families. [SPEAKER_04]: A lot of that ties back to Russia. [SPEAKER_04]: It does.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, well, and we've seen Russia deliberately interfering with, you know, not just a political discourse in this country, but also just, I think pop culture discourse as well. [SPEAKER_03]: It's want to come in and so chaos inside the United States by disrupting conversations on social media and of course we're gullible enough to buy into some of that stuff. [SPEAKER_03]: So it's perfectly in keeping to, and of course, I'll let the budget go to the top.
[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, let's wait. [SPEAKER_04]: Call off. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: He's another one who's compromised. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, God. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, like this whole piece plan. [SPEAKER_04]: It's actually a capitulation plan where they want Ukraine and all of its allies, including us good folks here in the United States to capitulate to Putin. [SPEAKER_04]: I don't think so. [SPEAKER_04]: No. [SPEAKER_04]: No. [SPEAKER_04]: No.
[SPEAKER_09]: So a Donald might be a Neville Chamberlain. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, absolutely.
[SPEAKER_03]: I think if this plan is actually accepted and it looks like Zelensky was kind of leaning in that direction the last I heard, but I don't think he's going to buy it because what's going to happen is you give Russia Donbass and you allow them to have that territory after annexing Crimea and then on top of that it's going to be, well, two years down the line he's going to want more of Ukraine or a big chunk of something else.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, you gave it to us then, so why not have more now? [SPEAKER_09]: and everything. [SPEAKER_09]: It's a whole thing. [SPEAKER_04]: I think what he's doing is he is doing everything he can Zelensky is to to be solicitous of it and say I would like a peace plan. [SPEAKER_04]: I would really really really like a peace plan. [SPEAKER_04]: But there are certain things that he knows that his people have said that they won't.
[SPEAKER_04]: And giving up that much territory, a lot of those that he knows that they will, they will act as a veto on it.
[SPEAKER_04]: So he has that political room to be able to say [SPEAKER_04]: Sure, and he takes his people and those people say hell no, he goes sorry can't do it And he's also puts he's also helped put some things in there as they've been trying to morph this plan That he knows that Putin will say hell no to so he put basically some poison pills in the thing anyway So then he goes well look I did my best. [SPEAKER_04]: Obviously the Americans say some issues But they did their best hmm.
[SPEAKER_04]: Who at this table didn't do their best? [SPEAKER_04]: Just just saying just so [SPEAKER_04]: I think Zelensky's actually pretty smart about a lot of him. [SPEAKER_04]: He's super smart. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: He's not going to give up the ship. [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, he's not going to know screws on people. [SPEAKER_03]: He loves his country. [SPEAKER_03]: Of course. [SPEAKER_03]: Of course.
[SPEAKER_04]: Like Mark Kelly and a lot of those, those counters people here. [SPEAKER_04]: They're great. [SPEAKER_04]: By the way, seeking the counters people. [SPEAKER_04]: The Tennessee 7. [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know if you've kept your eye on that mom. [SPEAKER_04]: The Tennessee seven race with Captain Bane. [SPEAKER_04]: Did you see the poll that came out today? [SPEAKER_03]: Conservatives. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: Only two points down in a state where Donald won by 22 points.
[SPEAKER_03]: I know. [SPEAKER_03]: That's amazing. [SPEAKER_04]: Love that. [SPEAKER_04]: Statistically tied. [SPEAKER_04]: I would love to see that. [SPEAKER_04]: Especially because. [SPEAKER_04]: with Marjorie Taylor Greene leaving, we ran down the numbers earlier this week, with help from Lisa Deschardand from PBS, because she did this whole post on social media, just running down the numbers, it is entirely possible the Democrats could get the house even before the elections next year.
[SPEAKER_09]: Oh, no, we are. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: That's it. [SPEAKER_03]: Rumors of resigning Republicans, that could be pretty amazing. [SPEAKER_03]: At this point, Republicans are looking at a pretty serious shalaking on deck, and it could be even more gargantuan. [SPEAKER_03]: hopefully in, you know, maybe six months time we're looking at an increasingly disintegrating Republican party.
[SPEAKER_04]: From your lips to whatever higher powers ears there are absolute freaking loosely. [SPEAKER_04]: I would love to see. [SPEAKER_04]: That would be something I'd be like, you know, what if that actually happened, we'd have to do another. [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, we do, we do Thanksgiving every year. [SPEAKER_04]: But I'm just saying if we got the house beforehand, I would definitely be like, hey, instant Thanksgiving. [SPEAKER_04]: Let's go.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, also remember that the Republicans have to defend more Senate seats. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: They do. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: They do. [SPEAKER_04]: That's right, as Bob says, don't get happy. [SPEAKER_04]: Be interested, be, you know, just don't, don't forget you got to do the work. [SPEAKER_04]: That's me saying.
[SPEAKER_04]: True. [SPEAKER_04]: If, by the way, you want to see any of Bob's great work, you could always go to BobSesca.com. [SPEAKER_04]: You can see him on any of the social media platforms, or of course, TrekPolitics.com. [SPEAKER_04]: So if you're looking to get away from, both politics on this earth, he's got politics there too. [SPEAKER_04]: Bob and Bob are so huge. [SPEAKER_04]: Have yourself a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend, Bob. [SPEAKER_04]: Same to you.
[SPEAKER_04]: Thank you, Sean. [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you very much. [SPEAKER_04]: Hey, Jody and I, we are kind of going to be here tomorrow. [SPEAKER_04]: Look, we fresh content tomorrow for you and fresh content Friday, as well as the best of interviews. [SPEAKER_04]: So for those of you who are listening, you'll see us back here tomorrow at the Palm Beach Park. [SPEAKER_04]: Have a good Thanksgiving, y'all.
