[SPEAKER_07]: It's political. [SPEAKER_07]: Thinking, radical. [SPEAKER_09]: Shot Smith Pearson, showedy Hamilton. [SPEAKER_07]: Hey, Sharon. [SPEAKER_11]: Sean, it's Friday. [SPEAKER_11]: It is Friday. [SPEAKER_11]: Holy crap. [SPEAKER_11]: Is it Friday? [SPEAKER_11]: I am extremely glad. [SPEAKER_11]: It's been a very busy and bizarre Friday. [SPEAKER_11]: It's been a busy, bizarre week of news. [SPEAKER_11]: But we've been very, very glad to have you.
[SPEAKER_11]: Mr. Jared Rizzi hanging out filling in for the wonderful Jody. [SPEAKER_11]: Although your hair is still not red enough. [SPEAKER_11]: Jody tears just more red. [SPEAKER_11]: That's just how it is. [SPEAKER_10]: Well, I'll find the blood of innocence and all. [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, ask John Bolton about that. [SPEAKER_12]: Like we have some updates on Bolton. [SPEAKER_11]: We have some updates on some immigration news and good stuff. [SPEAKER_11]: Some weird stuff.
[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, more of your stuff. [SPEAKER_12]: I haven't we got more on the redistricting news. [SPEAKER_11]: Okay, said it's been a weird ass news day. [SPEAKER_11]: I think it's just been so freaking bizarre, but we want to thank you for coming into the bar this evening from wherever you happen to be.
[SPEAKER_11]: Whether that is WCPT AMA-twenty in Chicago or AM-Nine-Fifty in Minneapolis, St. [SPEAKER_11]: Paul or America, one radio on Atlanta, the Detroit talk in Tennessee or progressive voices radio worldwide, wherever you happen to be or for those of you who are future people [SPEAKER_11]: Listening on the podcast, either on your podcast platform on your phone, or you've subscribed to politicsbar.com. [SPEAKER_11]: Thank you very much. [SPEAKER_11]: Whatever time it is.
[SPEAKER_11]: Oh, oh, I do have some great news off the top. [SPEAKER_09]: Great. [SPEAKER_11]: It is time for the Minnesota State Fair. [SPEAKER_11]: Oh, it's awesome. [SPEAKER_10]: It's awesome. [SPEAKER_10]: Have you ever been? [SPEAKER_10]: Not to the minutes. [SPEAKER_10]: I've been to a lot of state fairs, not the Minnesota one. [SPEAKER_11]: Well, I know you've been to a number of them.
[SPEAKER_11]: You know, that's what you do when you're in journalism, you really go places, especially when you've been on campaign trail or you've, you know, whatever. [SPEAKER_10]: But, if anyone has seen me, I look like a person who's enjoyed fair food, okay? [SPEAKER_10]: Like I just, you dip it in butter. [SPEAKER_10]: I'll consider it strongly. [SPEAKER_10]: Okay, that's awesome.
[SPEAKER_11]: But look, honestly, the Minnesota State Fair, I saw a little post yesterday, and I meant to mention this that Tim and Gwen invited everybody out. [SPEAKER_11]: It started Thursday night. [SPEAKER_11]: And if you are in the AM nine, fifty area or you're anywhere in the Midwest, head to the cities, go. [SPEAKER_11]: It's fun. [SPEAKER_11]: It's really kick ass. [SPEAKER_10]: What's your state fair? [SPEAKER_10]: Like, what do you gravitating tour?
[SPEAKER_10]: Are you going for like a gravetron experience? [SPEAKER_11]: Oh, no, no, I'm not big on the rides. [SPEAKER_11]: Cause, you know, yeah, I'm just one of those things might bite my tum tum. [SPEAKER_11]: Well, some of it's that and some of it, of course, is my brain. [SPEAKER_11]: It just goes, yeah, you know, the creative part of it's like the thin bad things could happen. [SPEAKER_11]: But I do like the food. [SPEAKER_11]: You know, I like to try like a different fried candy bars.
[SPEAKER_11]: I like, um, uh, if they have a pork tenderloin because, you know, some places get it right and some places get it wrong. [SPEAKER_11]: And then if they have something fried that's weird and that's somewhat interesting, you know, I've had fried taco before, uh, fried Oreo, fried Twix bar, um, if you ever had fried butter. [SPEAKER_10]: I have had fried butter. [SPEAKER_10]: I'll also say a Scotch egg. [SPEAKER_10]: I will enjoy the heck out of a Scotch egg.
[SPEAKER_11]: A lot of fun fair food. [SPEAKER_11]: Some good news there. [SPEAKER_11]: You told me there were some good news as we were just coming into the bar, opening things up literally like just as we were hitting the door that you said there were some other good news out there tonight. [SPEAKER_10]: I feel like, well, let me give you the two doors, you know, one of us always lies in one of us always tell the truth.
[SPEAKER_10]: It's, it's, do you want the, the good news first or the makes me mad news first? [SPEAKER_10]: Let's go with the good news. [SPEAKER_10]: I like the good news because it's Friday. [SPEAKER_11]: What the hell? [SPEAKER_10]: Earlier today, Kilmar, a breakout Garcia is free. [SPEAKER_10]: He has left, he has left Tennessee, he's on his way back to his family in Maryland. [SPEAKER_10]: Love them.
[SPEAKER_10]: And yeah, this is, I'd say it's good for three reasons, but I think we all know, I mean, obviously this is someone who's most likely completely innocent. [SPEAKER_10]: And has just been under government detention for months for no good reason. [SPEAKER_10]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_10]: Also good.
[SPEAKER_10]: because it proves what we've all known all along that this is a paper tiger this administration this president he doesn't have the power and as soon as you push back with any force it folds one after another and this is just another another gap in that armor I think we should all be celebrating that agree even while things are getting I also right but I also that this is another reason why we shouldn't just say up what law does mean anything anymore
[SPEAKER_11]: Look, I mean, you know, a lot of the legal team that we've had in here. [SPEAKER_11]: Oh my god, in fact, firstly, every one of them has said, you need to make sure not to be giving up beforehand. [SPEAKER_11]: You need to make sure to go to the reason why we have the laws. [SPEAKER_11]: The laws are not [SPEAKER_11]: self, uh, self, the facing self establishing self that they don't act on their own. [SPEAKER_11]: We have to use them.
[SPEAKER_11]: And if somebody is trying to use our lack of legal knowledge, one reasons why we have so many lawyers that we know, we have to use them to push back and I'm sure. [SPEAKER_11]: It sounds like Mr. Brigogarcia has actually had a whole lot of help. [SPEAKER_11]: Big thanks by the way to Jamie Raskin and to a center van Holland and to a lot of the folks there in Maryland. [SPEAKER_11]: I know Governor Westmore has been involved in this.
[SPEAKER_11]: Now, obviously, could, could Trump's thugs and goods pick him up for any reason that they want. [SPEAKER_11]: Hell, that's what they did the first time. [SPEAKER_10]: So well, and there is more to that, which is that ice will be, it's like supervision and immigration authorities may apprehend him once he's in Maryland, but the court order, again, maybe it's just on four pieces of four corners of a piece of paper.
[SPEAKER_10]: Maybe it's more than that right now, but court order requires the give is attorney's seventy two hours notice. [SPEAKER_10]: So if you are one of those future people who hears this and are like, well, [SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, we're sorry. [SPEAKER_10]: Things change. [SPEAKER_11]: Things change. [SPEAKER_11]: So they may have even changed by the time that you know, because we've got the TVs on behind us here, but we don't actually we're not looking at them.
[SPEAKER_11]: We're looking at each other and we're looking at you guys here in the bar. [SPEAKER_11]: So apologies about that. [SPEAKER_10]: But these things change. [SPEAKER_10]: It's a Friday. [SPEAKER_10]: And you know what the other part of this that I really love. [SPEAKER_10]: He has forty eight hours to reach Maryland. [SPEAKER_10]: That's part of the release. [SPEAKER_10]: And then would I love a little road trip documentary of him taking his [SPEAKER_10]: to get back to Maryland.
[SPEAKER_10]: That would be the best. [SPEAKER_10]: I don't think we're going to get that film. [SPEAKER_10]: No. [SPEAKER_11]: I think he wants to go see his family and rightfully so, rightfully so. [SPEAKER_11]: So, okay. [SPEAKER_11]: So you said there were some other weird news. [SPEAKER_10]: The makes me mad. [SPEAKER_10]: The good news and the makes me mad news. [SPEAKER_11]: All right. [SPEAKER_11]: It was probably expected. [SPEAKER_11]: What was it?
[SPEAKER_11]: Something about a grantee Trump? [SPEAKER_10]: Yes. [SPEAKER_10]: Yes, although although in many of the stories that I'm mentioning, he's barely even mentioned, which is part of what's making me mad about it. [SPEAKER_10]: Okay. [SPEAKER_10]: So Glenn Maxwell is part of the testimony that we got released today from D.O.J. [SPEAKER_11]: They actually David Lisa. [SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, I knew they were, they were, you know, Epstein release day baby.
[SPEAKER_10]: We're all getting the vinyl press. [SPEAKER_10]: It's coming right off first printing. [SPEAKER_10]: No, I think what we need to remember here is is a couple big things and again as a former White House reporter. [SPEAKER_10]: Just think critically think aggressively about how this is being packaged to you because the first term Trump administration was great about this.
[SPEAKER_10]: Think about how, for example, Bill Barr used to talk about what's coming out with the Russia probe or whatever.
[SPEAKER_11]: they love to package the the best version of this possible first so that's what we're getting right that's what they try to feed to to the journalist that's what they would try to feed to white house reporters but but here here's the thing that was kind of fascism light and it was fascism light with people who could count their eyeballs and get the same number twice people who didn't go I'm good at ballroom or I'm good at grass
[SPEAKER_11]: People who weren't so dumb that if they weren't in a position of authority, you just walk up to them and slap the crap out of them. [SPEAKER_11]: This is the dumb, okay, and now we're getting the version. [SPEAKER_11]: Here's a quick quiz. [SPEAKER_11]: This week, who was the person who really harped the most on this being stupid fascism? [SPEAKER_11]: We had them as a guest earlier in the week. [SPEAKER_11]: Wait a minute.
[SPEAKER_11]: This particular story, the emcee is just stupid fascist just to fact that this is fascism and it's stupid and it's really dumb. [SPEAKER_10]: I mean John Fugosang was talking about that. [SPEAKER_11]: He was saying a little bit too that the person that I keep remembering though, Meredith Schiner. [SPEAKER_10]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_11]: God, this is just so dumb.
[SPEAKER_11]: Like, if you can imagine being back in World War II, and it being this dumb, no you can't, because it wasn't this dumb. [SPEAKER_11]: This is dumb. [SPEAKER_11]: I'm betting, since you mentioned that this story that you're thinking of, you're talking about the Epstein stuff, yeah. [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_12]: Okay, exhaust stupid was it.
[SPEAKER_10]: Well, we're getting, you know, [SPEAKER_10]: the the earliest version of this and it is going to the house right and it is going to be revealed there in a little bit fuller detail and they are saying that they're going to scrub so that the victims are protected all of that so what's what's this the emphasis yeah the emphasis of what we're getting right now unfortunately just this evening and earlier today was that essentially there's nothing bad that Trump said nothing and
[SPEAKER_10]: ever was there was bad thing to see him. [SPEAKER_10]: I didn't even wait for the sound effect [SPEAKER_10]: B. S. And here's why here's why because it's so heavily redacted even what we've gotten already that I'm just wondering how many how many vehicles you could park in those reductions. [SPEAKER_10]: I mean, it's just a big black topic.
[SPEAKER_11]: I think I think you're not talking about this was yesterday before that we had it in the news on tap that the third judge this week. [SPEAKER_11]: said you cannot have the some of the grand jury testimony and stuff you want because of the fact that there's nothing in there that isn't really public and there's nothing worth it anyway you people are idiots well and and also calling out the DOJ you know what has been really interesting Sean is watching these judges say
[SPEAKER_10]: as the quality of information and legal jurisprudence they're getting from DOJ has degraded calling out the DOJ attorneys in court over and over again since look guys we just can't presume that the government isn't lying to us anymore that is [SPEAKER_10]: That is bright red flag and big difference from even just six, ten months ago.
[SPEAKER_11]: Barb and Harry and Glenn, they were all big on that that they're saying, notice the judges they're standing up in and the lawyers that they're standing up to. [SPEAKER_11]: So yeah. [SPEAKER_10]: So I'm going to we're going to be looking at this you and Jody. [SPEAKER_10]: I'm sure we'll be talking about it next week when it's revealed that this was only two percent except no substitute. [SPEAKER_10]: The full you know version of this report.
[SPEAKER_10]: I look forward to hearing what you two learn about it in when you when you yourself are a future person. [SPEAKER_10]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_11]: Well, we will be at that point. [SPEAKER_11]: We are definitely going to have you back here in the bar. [SPEAKER_11]: Depending on your schedule next week on the week after we'll figure it out because obviously we love having you back.
[SPEAKER_11]: We love having you in the bar now that you're is someone of a regular around here, which is fantastic for prior. [SPEAKER_11]: I feel like this is a lift. [SPEAKER_11]: This is what Jody and I do and this is what a lot of good. [SPEAKER_11]: This is what this is the kind of stuff you did when you were beginning the first term of the Trump regime, you know, all pretty much all of the Obama. [SPEAKER_11]: Well, yeah, but under under Obama, it was different under Obama.
[SPEAKER_12]: It was it made sense. [SPEAKER_12]: It was organized. [SPEAKER_11]: It wasn't half-assed. [SPEAKER_10]: It wasn't ridiculous. [SPEAKER_10]: They fired people before ten PM. [SPEAKER_10]: People lasted more than eleven days sometimes. [SPEAKER_11]: Well, we weren't having internal wars.
[SPEAKER_11]: So I was, I was actually very, very happy about Newsom and his, you know, his standing up and his saying, you know, this, this crap is, look, he went on, he wanted a mightest touch podcast. [SPEAKER_11]: I believe it was the Machler podcast last night. [SPEAKER_11]: And we've got a good clip from that. [SPEAKER_11]: We've got a couple. [SPEAKER_11]: Actually we've got a number go J.B. [SPEAKER_11]: Pritzker actually.
[SPEAKER_11]: I think that Pritzker and Newsom are playing good cop bad cop when it comes to the redistricting wars. [SPEAKER_11]: I'm the not joke. [SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, I'm not upset about that. [SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, no. [SPEAKER_11]: I'm like good. [SPEAKER_11]: I'm like good. [SPEAKER_11]: Let's bring in. [SPEAKER_11]: Let's bring in more of the Democratic governors to play a broad monopoly of different roles in this. [SPEAKER_11]: because it's messing up the right wing media.
[SPEAKER_11]: They don't know how to handle this because Democrats are starting to play their game by their rules and they don't what the hell to do. [SPEAKER_10]: They like, can't believe versus penopticon in the dome. [SPEAKER_10]: I had nothing else to do with it. [SPEAKER_11]: Good job. [SPEAKER_11]: Good job, Dixonary. [SPEAKER_11]: If you don't know what we were talking about there, it's fine. [SPEAKER_11]: We have one here in the back. [SPEAKER_11]: It's by the rest room.
[SPEAKER_11]: You'll be fine. [SPEAKER_11]: You'll be fine with your John's. [SPEAKER_11]: Look, you gotta have a good dictionary still. [SPEAKER_11]: Yes, you gotta run your phones, but dictionaries don't change the definitions. [SPEAKER_11]: Look, it is a Friday night. [SPEAKER_11]: We are here at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_11]: Me shots with Pierce Jared Rizzy in for Jody. [SPEAKER_11]: And yes, we have it have Karen and Anita from True Blue politics tonight.
[SPEAKER_11]: We got that drink of the day. [SPEAKER_11]: We're going to go through the news on tap for the day. [SPEAKER_11]: It's been a long week. [SPEAKER_11]: Get yourself your drink all topped up and come on back for another round on a Friday night here at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_09]: We'll be right back after we pay some bills at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_07]: It is a Friday night here at politics bar.
[SPEAKER_11]: Thank you very much for coming into the bar and for commenting on all of our social media. [SPEAKER_11]: We are very thrilled you reach out to us. [SPEAKER_11]: Look, you can always reach out on blue sky or threads, Instagram, Facebook, Substack or Twitter. [SPEAKER_11]: You got it. [SPEAKER_11]: You can reach out to us on all of us.
[SPEAKER_11]: We are at the politics bar or you can call us two one three six seven seven seven seven seven seven seven seven seven seven seven two five eight. [SPEAKER_11]: That's two one three six seven seven salt. [SPEAKER_11]: Like in your Margarita. [SPEAKER_11]: Oh, by the way, we had a couple of audience comments. [SPEAKER_11]: Johanna, over on Instagram, said she loves Jody and Sean. [SPEAKER_11]: She's very good about that. [SPEAKER_11]: She likes Jared.
[SPEAKER_11]: That's a good thing. [SPEAKER_11]: Loves that we have local folks on like Karen and Anita. [SPEAKER_11]: So I'm like, yeah, I'm like, this is cool. [SPEAKER_11]: Look, you got to talk to people in the communities around the country. [SPEAKER_11]: It's one of the reasons. [SPEAKER_11]: Look, we had Parker on to start the week, Parker Memorial who's fantastic. [SPEAKER_11]: And one of the things that's a bug-a-boo for her, and it's a bug-a-boo for me too.
[SPEAKER_11]: And I think it is for you too, Jared, is people who [SPEAKER_11]: They you talk about somebody, but you don't bring somebody in that community in. [SPEAKER_11]: I'm like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, especially if there's somebody that you know in your friends. [SPEAKER_11]: So yeah, so Bridget by the way at Facebook said she loves hearing what John Fugle sang had to say last night about the hypocrisy of Republicans and fake Christians loved you guys on the show.
[SPEAKER_11]: So John's always amazing. [SPEAKER_11]: Well, I'm good as to you as well. [SPEAKER_11]: That was there was a good conversation we had last night. [SPEAKER_11]: So I was I was really glad about that. [SPEAKER_11]: We you and I were talking to the break here about people that we used to have good conversation with that series XM including when I was responsible for the serious XM show stealing hunger. [SPEAKER_11]: Oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, Michael steal who we've tried to get them on, but usually when we are trying to prep things and get things ready here in the bar, they are getting ready to do the weeknight and doing weeknight very very very very [SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, let's look. [SPEAKER_11]: But the funny thing was, so Michael used to say to me, he go, you're more conservative than some people.
[SPEAKER_11]: Well, I would say to him, I would say you're more liberal than you ever want to admit and he'd be like absolutely true. [SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, right. [SPEAKER_11]: And then he would turn to me and he'd say, well, you're you're more conservative than you want to admit. [SPEAKER_11]: And I said, absolutely true. [SPEAKER_11]: Maybe. [SPEAKER_11]: Maybe. [SPEAKER_11]: Maybe. [SPEAKER_11]: Look, I'm from Nebraska. [SPEAKER_11]: That's what I would tell him.
[SPEAKER_11]: As I would go, I'm from Nebraska. [SPEAKER_11]: We have a one house legislature that is nominally nonpartisan. [SPEAKER_11]: Well, that's why you're always, that's why you're always promoting that website runs up for something. [SPEAKER_11]: Oh, runs a sandwich is your fan tag. [SPEAKER_11]: Look, you can ask Chris LaVoy on Stephanie Miller's show. [SPEAKER_11]: I kid you not. [SPEAKER_11]: He knows the power of runs. [SPEAKER_11]: Uh, runs us our fan freaking test.
[SPEAKER_11]: Okay. [SPEAKER_11]: I have never had one. [SPEAKER_11]: I have to admit. [SPEAKER_11]: It is okay. [SPEAKER_11]: Take a think about it this way. [SPEAKER_11]: It is roughly the size of a good sized hot dog. [SPEAKER_10]: It is hamburger and it is twenty jokes I can make on this program.
[SPEAKER_11]: We do the FCC rules, but [SPEAKER_11]: Um, it is, it is hamburger, sliced, good, sliced hamburger, and cabbage, and then sometimes cheese, or you can get it with, uh, sometimes the Italian runs it, it has, like, a good spaghetti sauce or whatever in it. [SPEAKER_11]: And it's wrapped in bread. [SPEAKER_11]: Now, it being about the size of a good hot dog in a bun. [SPEAKER_11]: You know, we were talking about, uh, a state fair food earlier.
[SPEAKER_11]: So, uh, a runs it is something like that. [SPEAKER_11]: You could have it in your hand. [SPEAKER_11]: You can literally eat this and drive down the road and not worry about it spilling all over. [SPEAKER_11]: Runs us are I would manage I would still don't tell me what I'm capable of I remember I remember there were occasionally days when you're like it was it was gonna be a big deal at the at the White House and you're like I cannot wear a white shirt today.
[SPEAKER_11]: Oh gosh because every time that you would wear a white shirt You would say that that it was like some kind of a magnet for stains or something. [SPEAKER_11]: I used to remember. [SPEAKER_11]: Remember you tell me I don't like no one like it should be fine. [SPEAKER_11]: You're you're an adult you're fine. [SPEAKER_11]: You're like no, no trust me [SPEAKER_10]: You have to remember, too. [SPEAKER_10]: It's like, it's like all the bad luck in the world.
[SPEAKER_10]: Just coalesces because everyone cares so much. [SPEAKER_10]: So it's just this terrible force field of circumstance. [SPEAKER_10]: And so I did. [SPEAKER_10]: So if you ever saw me in the briefing room and I was sitting down and my jacket was still buttoned, that was because I had had a terrible lunch and accident. [SPEAKER_10]: That's just behind the scene. [SPEAKER_11]: Look a little behind the scenes.
[SPEAKER_11]: behind the scenes for everybody on all that type of stuff because look, it is absolutely fantastic to be able to share with you guys the kinds of things that we see and hear behind the scenes. [SPEAKER_11]: And also quite frankly, we're really glad these days that some Democrats are really starting to set up. [SPEAKER_11]: We were going to imagine some of this. [SPEAKER_11]: This is part of it's in the news on tap today. [SPEAKER_11]: It's first off in the news on tap.
[SPEAKER_11]: The redistricting wars news did sign. [SPEAKER_11]: Remember, we didn't know last night. [SPEAKER_11]: We couldn't tell. [SPEAKER_11]: Didn't didn't look when we were talking to you guys, but he did in fact sign the California redistricting plan. [SPEAKER_11]: It is out to California voters. [SPEAKER_11]: There is a new poll that is confirming California voters silently support this redistricting plan.
[SPEAKER_11]: Now, Grant B. Trump said, well, he wanted a hundred seat Republican House, which is not [SPEAKER_10]: I mean, that's the end of, you know, that's a one party democracy forever. [SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, it's not a longer democracy, you know, that's that's dictatorship. [SPEAKER_11]: What he wants, I mean, authoritarianism, I believe is what it's called.
[SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, genuinely, truly, and people who listen to this program, this is not a surprise when I say this, but he genuinely, truly, [SPEAKER_10]: admires and desires. [SPEAKER_10]: The dictators around the world who can say, oh, I have ninety five percent approval rating and got ninety seven percent of the vote. [SPEAKER_10]: And that's not weird at all. [SPEAKER_10]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_10]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_11]: It's extremely weird.
[SPEAKER_11]: And I was very glad afternoon, some sign that last night. [SPEAKER_11]: He went on the mightest touch podcast with Adam Mochler. [SPEAKER_11]: And he literally was speaking exactly to what we were talking about last night. [SPEAKER_05]: The Democratic Party needs to assert itself. [SPEAKER_05]: We need to be strong again. [SPEAKER_05]: Strong, strength matters. [SPEAKER_05]: People want conviction. [SPEAKER_05]: They want character.
[SPEAKER_05]: They want a sense of intention and purpose to give us meaning. [SPEAKER_05]: To give us a mission. [SPEAKER_05]: And so I'm not here to make any more excuses. [SPEAKER_05]: I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_05]: I know there's some people that are offended by our all-caps parody of Trump, but I thought it's time to put a mirror to Trump. [SPEAKER_05]: I know you may get offended by my ten-pack abs on some of these means. [SPEAKER_05]: I mean, this sort of craziness that's going online, I get it.
[SPEAKER_05]: My kids are like, Jesus dead. [SPEAKER_05]: What the hell's going on? [SPEAKER_05]: The point is to make the point of what is going on in this country. [SPEAKER_05]: Of the President-Eye States that's actually like a child.
[SPEAKER_05]: and you've got the chat bots on Fox that repeat twenty four seven and are weaponizing his grievances attacking vulnerable people traumatizing communities we need to stand up all of us at this moment less judgment more fortitude meet this moment not for ourselves but for each other for this country [SPEAKER_05]: Amen. [SPEAKER_05]: Amen. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: That is exactly what we need.
[SPEAKER_10]: You know, you said earlier, Sean, you said, I think this is good cop bad cop with him in Pritzker. [SPEAKER_10]: I know we've got a clip of Pritzker. [SPEAKER_10]: I'm going to say and you and I are both of a of a vintage where this this reference is going to land on I hope people will also be on board.
[SPEAKER_10]: They are actually making a Voltron and I think more of them more democratic governors will come together and and join forces and we're going to be something bigger and and more powerful. [SPEAKER_10]: because of these efforts because if Republicans think that they can try to squiggle the lines to get a couple more seats here in their A, we know it's not going to be that kind of environment in twenty twenty six. [SPEAKER_10]: Right.
[SPEAKER_10]: We know that it's going to be a positive environment for Democrats just because it just about always is when it's the party out of power right house, but also because Donald Trump is fundamentally historically unpopular. [SPEAKER_10]: Yes. [SPEAKER_10]: You cannot have fascism while also being this unpopular. [SPEAKER_10]: It just hasn't happened. [SPEAKER_10]: You look at other places around the world in the history where it does work. [SPEAKER_10]: Right.
[SPEAKER_10]: It's because the government itself was much more popular when they jumped into the fascism pool. [SPEAKER_10]: We're nowhere near there. [SPEAKER_10]: So Trump is still putting on his swimsuit. [SPEAKER_10]: Sorry for that image giving it everyone. [SPEAKER_10]: But he's trying and I don't think we're going to get fully in. [SPEAKER_11]: Look, and you're you're you're mentioned of Voltron. [SPEAKER_11]: is actually, it's another call back to Meredith.
[SPEAKER_11]: Meredith Schiner has been, you know, she's, her, her essence is still roaming around here in the bar and we actually are definitely going to have to have her back again because one of the things that she said is that Democrats need to be teaming up. [SPEAKER_11]: Democrats need to be coalescing along. [SPEAKER_11]: They need to have a single plan. [SPEAKER_11]: They need to be working together with the plan.
[SPEAKER_11]: And, you know, honestly, if Fritzker and Newsom are doing a team up, this is great. [SPEAKER_11]: This is what Fritzker had an interview guest or Brian Tyler Cohen, and this is what he was saying on this. [SPEAKER_08]: Well, remember that one of the purposes of the attempt to break the quorum was to give time for other states to prepare.
[SPEAKER_08]: And remember there are two states, democratic states that have a real opportunity to try to counter what Texas is doing, California being the lead, New York, perhaps being the other. [SPEAKER_08]: And there are a few others, including Illinois, including Maryland and others. [SPEAKER_08]: I think importantly, you know, a strategy to try to push back against Texas and the entire endeavor is to try to pair up states, right?
[SPEAKER_08]: Texas and California just Texas really want to do this if California's simply going to negate it. [SPEAKER_08]: Does Missouri really want to do this if Maryland is really going to negate it? [SPEAKER_08]: And so hopefully what we see is there isn't an arms race here or ratcheting up of this, but rather ratcheting down. [SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, exactly. [SPEAKER_11]: That's, look, Pritzker is is making it very clear.
[SPEAKER_11]: Newsom is out there and saying, you want to go, boy, let's go. [SPEAKER_11]: Pritzker is in back saying, is deal. [SPEAKER_11]: You do it, we'll do it. [SPEAKER_11]: You bring a knife, we'll bring a gun, which makes sense because he's in Chicago. [SPEAKER_11]: But look, JB Pritzker is not messing around. [SPEAKER_11]: He's pulling back and he sees the other thing I like about Pritzker. [SPEAKER_11]: We have this also in the news on Tap today.
[SPEAKER_11]: I was very, very glad about this. [SPEAKER_11]: This is a little bit further down under the wars of the right section, under the war against LGBTQ persons. [SPEAKER_11]: Pritzker has launched the first in the nation, LGBTQ plus legal hotline. [SPEAKER_11]: So we were telling you how important it is to know some lawyers. [SPEAKER_11]: There is now a hotline for Pritzker did that. [SPEAKER_11]: Pritzker has been really good on LGBTQ plus issues.
[SPEAKER_11]: And I am, it's one of the reasons why, like I said yesterday, if I had to pick a twenty twenty eight or now and I'm not, I'm willing to change and have my mind changed, but of the people that we know are running out there. [SPEAKER_11]: I still like Harris, but I like Pritzker too. [SPEAKER_10]: The interesting to see what Harris decides to do, and not that I want to have this conversation now, right?
[SPEAKER_10]: Because people are choosing to spend their Friday evening with us, and I don't want to be the guy at the bar that I don't wish to. [SPEAKER_11]: But what I'm saying is everybody is saying, and you've noticed this a lot too that a lot of people are pushing the new something, and some people are obviously that Democrats do this. [SPEAKER_11]: We tend to unknowing the next Obama, the next Jesus Christ, if you will, Republicans do it too.
[SPEAKER_11]: Only their Jesus' fat orange and ugly and stupid and whatever. [SPEAKER_11]: And this is not the way it has to be. [SPEAKER_11]: We need to be a team. [SPEAKER_11]: We need to be a group. [SPEAKER_11]: We need to be a bunch of people. [SPEAKER_11]: And by God, I mean, we've got to get through the elections of twenty twenty five and then twenty six and then twenty seven and then twenty eight.
[SPEAKER_11]: There's plenty of time to pick somebody, but I do like the fact that Pritzker has the money to basically tell anybody FU. [SPEAKER_11]: So he can hold his principles because people go, what are you going to do about it? [SPEAKER_11]: Whatever. [SPEAKER_11]: So, you know, and in some ways, he is the smarter version of what the maggots thought that Donald Trump was.
[SPEAKER_11]: because, yeah, pretty, especially Britsker actually is a billionaire, and he hasn't gotten there by, you know, stealing it from the government, unlike Donald Trump. [SPEAKER_10]: So I think, I think technically now, most of Trump's wealth is crypto, which is even more corrupt, like he managed to find more corrupt ways to earn money. [SPEAKER_10]: He's like, hey, what's this thing that people are using to fund child pornography terrorism and drug sales around the world?
[SPEAKER_10]: Let me get in on that. [SPEAKER_10]: Oh my God, it's politics.
[SPEAKER_11]: and here's here's the thing here's the thing on top of all of his corruption there still remains the thing that he's grumpy as I keep joking about it he is okay you know this jackass said he had a moment he when we were in the bar last night as we were actually getting things ready in the bar um he decided not to make it too late because the lighting needed to be good [SPEAKER_11]: So he didn't really go out when it was too late last night.
[SPEAKER_11]: But he went down and hung around with the the ice people and the National Guard people. [SPEAKER_11]: So he could use them as a prop, which I know that pisses everybody off here. [SPEAKER_11]: Shouldn't happen. [SPEAKER_11]: Anyway. [SPEAKER_11]: But but then he said this really stupid ass moment about grass. [SPEAKER_00]: See one of the things we're going to be redoing is your park. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm very good at grass because I have a lot of golf courses all over the place.
[SPEAKER_00]: I know more about grass than any human being. [SPEAKER_00]: I think anywhere in the world. [SPEAKER_11]: you think you know more about grass than any one of the world. [SPEAKER_11]: Wow, Willie Nelson is still a lot. [SPEAKER_10]: It's just unbelievable. [SPEAKER_11]: I John, few of those I just had a great interview with him. [SPEAKER_11]: The other day. [SPEAKER_11]: So this was a couple of weeks ago. [SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, it's on John's podcast. [SPEAKER_10]: I have to hear that.
[SPEAKER_10]: That's going to be fun. [SPEAKER_11]: Oh, yeah, it's great. [SPEAKER_10]: But I jump in as someone who was a White House reporter. [SPEAKER_10]: I actually, there's a moment that this reminds me of so purely.
[SPEAKER_10]: And it talks about the, the legends and lore of Donald Trump because I was, this was, [SPEAKER_10]: I remember exactly when it was it was super Tuesday of the twenty sixteen cycle okay I was down at Marlago and I asked the question if you remember if you can put yourself back nine years I asked the question about David Duke [SPEAKER_10]: and disavowing David Duke and Trump called me out personally. [SPEAKER_10]: I remember you asking that.
[SPEAKER_10]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_10]: This was this was all that moment. [SPEAKER_10]: Next day, I had done a bunch of interviews both on Series XM and elsewhere because people were interested in this moment. [SPEAKER_10]: Right. [SPEAKER_10]: and I had taken a couple hours on the beach to just relax a little bit before my flight back to Washington. [SPEAKER_10]: Makes sense. [SPEAKER_10]: On the flight back to Washington, I just, just to give you a sense, I'm a Notre Dame grad. [SPEAKER_10]: Right.
[SPEAKER_10]: I was wearing a Notre Dame t-shirt. [SPEAKER_10]: I was wearing shorts and I think like Birkenstocks. [SPEAKER_10]: I was shedding sand and I was not someone you wanted to be seated next to on the plane, okay? [SPEAKER_10]: It was just a constant, like kind of, like, a pig pen from the, the, the, the, the, the, yeah.
[SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, like it was just just so nobody really wanted to be seated next to me seated next to me was fellow Notre Dame alum who who noticed my shirt and and commented positively on it and then who once he realized exactly who I was was sad about it Don McGann who was the in the the president's staff and who
[SPEAKER_10]: You know, I had a very long conversation where he asked me who I was and we started talking about politics and he started talking about how much Donald Trump spent every waking moment focused on the little details. [SPEAKER_10]: He talked about the screws and how this was a silver screw. [SPEAKER_10]: It should be a gold screw. [SPEAKER_12]: No, he's not worth it. [SPEAKER_12]: That's for sure. [SPEAKER_10]: They all have these stories about him and they're all BS.
[SPEAKER_10]: This is not how this mind operates and even if it was how it operated thirty years ago, it ain't how it operates right now. [SPEAKER_12]: You can be shorter per cent on that one. [SPEAKER_11]: I think we will talk more about Donald Trump's messed up a brain and we think he's failing. [SPEAKER_11]: We got some more news on Taptu. [SPEAKER_11]: It's a Friday night. [SPEAKER_11]: Here at politics bar. [SPEAKER_11]: Come back for another round.
[SPEAKER_09]: We'll be right back after we pay some bills at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_11]: Friday nights here at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_11]: Thank you very much for joining us from wherever you happen to be coming in. [SPEAKER_11]: By the way, if you miss any of the show, the best thing you can do, literally just subscribe. [SPEAKER_11]: Go to the politicsbar.com. [SPEAKER_11]: You can get the podcast ad free. [SPEAKER_11]: No ads.
[SPEAKER_11]: You can listen to it at twice speed if you want it to. [SPEAKER_11]: I'm not your mom. [SPEAKER_11]: I won't tell you about that. [SPEAKER_11]: But you can also get the drink of the day you get all the recipes and you can get the free news on tap section. [SPEAKER_11]: It's all there. [SPEAKER_11]: Just go subscribe. [SPEAKER_11]: It's easy to check it out at the politics bar.
[SPEAKER_10]: And you were saying Sean, by the way, that you're going to give a preview of you at twice speed for people who haven't, they haven't decided if they're going to pay. [SPEAKER_10]: Aren't you going to do that right now? [SPEAKER_11]: I could have a little faster. [SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, it's I used to be really I actually used to be able to speak like really high and really fast. [SPEAKER_11]: I used to be able to do that, but I have because you know what he knows.
[SPEAKER_10]: Grass better than you. [SPEAKER_11]: No, that's different. [SPEAKER_11]: That's half speed man. [SPEAKER_11]: That's when you want to you want to listen to politics, but you want to really believe it. [SPEAKER_11]: It's really really [SPEAKER_11]: It's really relaxing, the little happy trees. [SPEAKER_11]: Sorry, that's a whole other reference there. [SPEAKER_11]: But look, the fact is Donald Trump and his grass comment. [SPEAKER_11]: He's had so many of these recently.
[SPEAKER_11]: We didn't grab the sound of this earlier today because they had clips of it on all the different TV channels about him talking about the raid on John Bolton's house and his office. [SPEAKER_11]: And he sounded just disconnected to tell. [SPEAKER_11]: Like you were talking about before the break that you were talking with Don McGan. [SPEAKER_11]: And McGan had this fantastic story.
[SPEAKER_11]: It is a hallmark of a lot of the idiots that are in Trump's circle that they tell these fantastically detailed stories. [SPEAKER_11]: And here's the thing. [SPEAKER_11]: You guys all know in the bar. [SPEAKER_11]: I tell stories a lot. [SPEAKER_11]: Sometimes I will tell the same story and I don't want to always tell it exactly the same because that's the thing.
[SPEAKER_11]: your memory is not a hundred percent perfect you don't tell the same story the same way if you have different audiences even if you have the same audience you don't usually tell the story the same way that's one of the ways that you know that somebody's story is complete bullcrap is if they're telling it and they've got the they've got a certain level of detail beyond which no normal human would have
[SPEAKER_11]: And that happens to be a tell-tale sign with a lot of the people that are in the Trump regime, is they have these stories like you are saying. [SPEAKER_11]: And it's just a load of horsecraft. [SPEAKER_10]: What's also ascribing to him some level of like superhuman noticing ability. [SPEAKER_10]: I'm sorry, but this is a person who has been both physically and intellectually lazy his entire life. [SPEAKER_10]: God, yes.
[SPEAKER_10]: I don't believe for a half second that he can identify a silver screw or a gold screw or whatever. [SPEAKER_11]: I think he knows the difference between the silver screw and a gold screw and I believe it's a hundred and fifty dollars at the certain brothel that is just north of Las Vegas. [SPEAKER_10]: That by the way, not part of the release of the Epstein files that we got today. [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, we will, we will have to go over whatever is said or not said about that.
[SPEAKER_12]: Jody now go over that. [SPEAKER_12]: We'll maybe we'll have you back to talk about that too because it's just whatever. [SPEAKER_11]: I look, some of the deeper details about that stuff were not going to hear and we shouldn't do it because that's it deals with some of the victims, but [SPEAKER_11]: The thing is, just like with the stories about the rest of the Trump liars, they have this JV van.
[SPEAKER_11]: This is a perfect example of somebody who will lie his ass off for Donald Trump. [SPEAKER_11]: I guess he's got an interview this weekend. [SPEAKER_11]: They did some pre-records on meet the press and NBC on their different various things was was putting out stuff on this. [SPEAKER_11]: Here's the tell.
[SPEAKER_11]: When you've got somebody that you know that for whatever reason you care about and emotionally know, I don't think Vance cares about Trump, but I do think he cares about him as a meal ticket. [SPEAKER_11]: And Vance in this interview kept talking about the the Bolton raid and kept talking about, first of all, he was saying we a lot. [SPEAKER_11]: And you go, okay, well, first of all, the White House doesn't deal with it.
[SPEAKER_11]: That's DOJ, DOJ White House supposed to be separate. [SPEAKER_11]: You're not supposed to be mixing these two. [SPEAKER_10]: Well, the president was out with the Raiders just last night. [SPEAKER_10]: He was clearly suited up in, you know, several yards of Kevlar. [SPEAKER_11]: No, he just had his, he had his suit on and he was surrounded by a bunch of idiots, but besides that, [SPEAKER_11]: And I don't necessarily mean all the people I read.
[SPEAKER_11]: He had guards members, he had some people who probably were just there because they were told they had to be. [SPEAKER_11]: There should be separation as what you're getting towards. [SPEAKER_11]: Right, absolutely. [SPEAKER_11]: There absolutely should be, but there also should be things when you listen to somebody like Vance. [SPEAKER_11]: Tell these stories.
[SPEAKER_11]: he's saying we a lot more than you would think and he's saying we in the same way that somebody who is caring for somebody who is having cognitive difficulties who is ailing says this stuff and it's it's telling because we are making those decisions really we are it's supposed to be the president of the United States some of these jackasses yeah I'm looking at you taper [SPEAKER_11]: Tapper, um, uh, made a big deal about Joe Biden. [SPEAKER_11]: Joe Biden.
[SPEAKER_11]: You have met Joe Biden. [SPEAKER_11]: I've met Joe Biden. [SPEAKER_11]: Joe Biden. [SPEAKER_11]: He has a different way of talking than Barack Obama did. [SPEAKER_11]: Barack Obama paused a lot. [SPEAKER_11]: Barack Obama, the entire time that I've known Barack Obama, Barack Obama would pause. [SPEAKER_11]: as he was talking about things. [SPEAKER_11]: And that absolutely drives the hell out of most radio reporters.
[SPEAKER_11]: They're like, they're like, Oh, Lord, anger me used to hate it. [SPEAKER_11]: And then she asked me if I can. [SPEAKER_11]: For many reasons. [SPEAKER_11]: Well, yeah. [SPEAKER_11]: But then she asked me if I could cut out all the pauses all of these verbal texts. [SPEAKER_11]: Well, that's no, I said, look, as long as I'm not cutting out any of the context, fine, I can make it sound that way.
[SPEAKER_11]: I remember taking a minute and forty five clip and putting it down to about a minute and twenty seconds. [SPEAKER_11]: She was like, why didn't you talk that way all the time?
[SPEAKER_11]: I said because he thinks about what he says before he says it because she's not paying six a month for the for the six dollars a month for the for the for the for the head for the hot cast version that was just me bringing it back that's the I earned my keep this week shot very much earned your keep and more so but here's the deal so Joe Biden also thinks he also cost us a lot whatever but Biden's mind has not been
[SPEAKER_11]: His speaking ability and his thought, yeah, maybe, as he's getting a little bit older, obviously, everybody here, everybody ages. [SPEAKER_11]: We all do that. [SPEAKER_11]: But it's different than what Trump seems to be going through. [SPEAKER_10]: And Biden also has a prominent and well discussed stutter that he's dealt with his entire life.
[SPEAKER_10]: Well, and that people in this context, not mentioning that, is kind of malpractice when we're thinking about the way in which people present themselves, [SPEAKER_10]: Joe Biden's made no no secret of this. [SPEAKER_10]: This isn't FDR rolling through the White House because that's where I was going. [SPEAKER_10]: And making sure the press was in on it.
[SPEAKER_10]: We should not be ashamed of people with disabilities who are overcoming them or frankly not overcoming them and working and doing the best they can and getting accommodations and living their lives.
[SPEAKER_10]: I think one of the big stories that's not being described when we're talking about Trump and Vance and homelessness and other people is they want a return to the pre-nineteen seventies ugly laws that century of saying people with disabilities the homeless everybody else needed to get out need to be institutionalized need to be this taken off the streets and hidden right this is the kind of disgusting and degenerate attitude they have toward our family members our neighbors are loved ones
[SPEAKER_10]: And the idea of someone like Biden is repulsive to them and maybe even repulsive to someone like a news anchor who's trying to sell a book about how old and doddering Joe Biden is because it offends some kind of internal and the problem is in the people who have those [SPEAKER_10]: reaction. [SPEAKER_12]: We both know some of these people on the right who also and plenty in the media. [SPEAKER_11]: They dis what I'm talking about.
[SPEAKER_11]: They they dis like Donald Trump being old, but they won't say it. [SPEAKER_11]: They don't have the courage to say it. [SPEAKER_11]: They don't have the courage to say that grant be has issues. [SPEAKER_11]: And yeah, it sounds a little insulting, but the fact is I can be a little insulting about it because of how much they have insulted and trashed the rest of [SPEAKER_11]: say how much they trashed Joe Biden for his age, how much they've trashed disabilities people.
[SPEAKER_11]: I can refer to him as grantey because among friends here at the bar, you guys know what I'm talking about, but also the biggest thing is one of the big reasons, one of the big reasons that Democrats had so much problems last year is because far too many people in our mainstream media, concentrated in fact that Joe Biden is old. [SPEAKER_11]: Well, guess what? [SPEAKER_11]: Donald Trump is exactly the same. [SPEAKER_11]: He's old.
[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_11]: So if that's going to be your reason for it, you need to be intellectually consistent. [SPEAKER_11]: And so many of the people, and we do hammer on Jake Tapper on this because of his intellectual inconsistency on this particular issue. [SPEAKER_11]: He's horrible about this issue. [SPEAKER_11]: If you're going to be intellectually consistent, look, we were talking about Steve Manon, who we've, you've met.
[SPEAKER_11]: I've been in the trail of coming out of a room and you're like, oh, anyway. [SPEAKER_11]: But Steve Manon is a monster. [SPEAKER_11]: But he's at least honest about being a monster. [SPEAKER_11]: John Bolton, who had his house raided today, had his house and his DC office raided. [SPEAKER_11]: This goes along with the fascism by morons that we've been talking about on and off this evening. [SPEAKER_10]: Quite a bit.
[SPEAKER_11]: Okay. [SPEAKER_11]: I used to John Bolton used to call in to Laura Ingraham Show regularly, which is fine. [SPEAKER_11]: And I got to talk to him a number of times because, like always, when guests come on, I want to have them check the levels, so we get them to talk about things. [SPEAKER_11]: John Bolton likes barbecue. [SPEAKER_11]: So he likes to do. [SPEAKER_11]: He likes to host people at his house for barbecue. [SPEAKER_11]: He likes different kinds of barbecue.
[SPEAKER_11]: He has a vast knowledge of barbecue. [SPEAKER_11]: I'm sure he probably has a couple barbecue cookbooks. [SPEAKER_11]: It's an interesting topic to have him talk about. [SPEAKER_11]: He is one of those kinds of people. [SPEAKER_11]: While I think of a number of his arguments on foreign policy, they are in the billing the cat corner of the intellectual universe. [SPEAKER_11]: It would be interesting if the universe worked that way, but it doesn't.
[SPEAKER_11]: But that said, Bolton is also smart enough and true enough to whatever he believes that he believes these things. [SPEAKER_11]: He is able to back them up. [SPEAKER_11]: And this is how he thinks the world is. [SPEAKER_11]: Whether or not it is that way on a rare occurrence sometimes it is a lot of times most of the time it's not, but he stands with his principles. [SPEAKER_11]: Whatever those principles may be and he can defend them, which is more than I can say for most maggots.
[SPEAKER_10]: And I'll say this about the response to Bolton's home and office being rated. [SPEAKER_10]: I have seen people on the entire spectrum of political outlooks saying this is wrong. [SPEAKER_10]: This is, this is, this is a first they came, you know, less than to be learned here. [SPEAKER_10]: And and saying we cannot allow them to do this against even people who were in the first Trump administration. [SPEAKER_11]: Both knew this was, both knew this was coming.
[SPEAKER_10]: And you know that if this were someone on the left, you would not have the reciprocity, no, or from the people on the right who would be saying, I hope lots of terrible things happen to this person in prison. [SPEAKER_11]: Oh yeah, they would be saying that on the right if it was somebody from the left. [SPEAKER_11]: But no, no, no, this is John Bolden.
[SPEAKER_11]: Many of whom they know some of whom they like, but here, this was John Bolden with John Carl on ABCs this week, ten days ago. [SPEAKER_01]: We're about to talk about Trump's retribution campaign. [SPEAKER_01]: We're seeing at the FBI and the Justice Department. [SPEAKER_01]: You're obviously on his enemies list. [SPEAKER_01]: These cash patelles enemies list. [SPEAKER_01]: Are you worried that they're going to come after you in some way?
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he's hinted at it before. [SPEAKER_06]: Well, I think he's already come after me in several others in withdrawing the protection that we had from the Iranians for the attack on Kassim Soleimani. [SPEAKER_06]: So I think, and I said in the new forward to the paperback edition of my book, I think it is a retribution presidency. [SPEAKER_11]: He called a shot, ten days ago. [SPEAKER_11]: So Bolton was not surprised that this was happening. [SPEAKER_11]: Not at all.
[SPEAKER_10]: No, and frankly, I think everyone who heard Donald Trump and actually had, you know, not blockage in their ears. [SPEAKER_10]: This was the plan. [SPEAKER_10]: It was all about, frankly, it was about keeping himself out of prison and putting as many of his own enemies in prison. [SPEAKER_10]: And by the way, today's the day we're starting to release the Epstein files, but just the cleansed versions. [SPEAKER_10]: just the little ones.
[SPEAKER_10]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_11]: Convenient how that happened to take up the the Bolton FBI rate happened to take up so much of the oxygen in the media. [SPEAKER_11]: I'm so distracted Sean. [SPEAKER_11]: I can't possibly focus on more than one thing at a time. [SPEAKER_11]: Well, look, then you're going to have to take a breath because we're going to do the drink of the day coming up next. [SPEAKER_11]: And then we've got Karen and Anita from True Blue politics coming in.
[SPEAKER_11]: So [SPEAKER_11]: Look, it is a Friday night. [SPEAKER_11]: Get your drink refreshed. [SPEAKER_11]: Dude, you gotta do, you know what I mean? [SPEAKER_11]: Hey, we aim to please. [SPEAKER_11]: You aim to please here on a Friday night. [SPEAKER_11]: Here at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_11]: Give us a couple minutes and we'll be right back, alright? [SPEAKER_11]: Alright. [SPEAKER_09]: We'll be right back after we base some bills at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_07]: Then a call.
[SPEAKER_09]: Thinking, ready a call. [SPEAKER_07]: Shot Smith Pearson, Jodie Hamilton. [SPEAKER_11]: I try to do a different one every single time because, you know, hey, everybody likes something a little bit new and something they're a little familiar with and we are familiar with you, Mr. Jerry Grissie. [SPEAKER_10]: Thank you for filling in for Jody as well. [SPEAKER_10]: We all this week. [SPEAKER_10]: It's been an absolute [SPEAKER_10]: professional and personal jolly.
[SPEAKER_11]: Thank you for having Jared on Blue Sky. [SPEAKER_11]: Look, follow him and give him kudos for all the work he's done for us this week. [SPEAKER_11]: It's fantastic. [SPEAKER_11]: By the way, thank you for following us on all of the places we happen to be on social media. [SPEAKER_11]: Whether it is Blue Sky Threads, Instagram, Facebook, Substack, or Twitter, we're in all of those places at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_11]: And a big thanks by the way, too.
[SPEAKER_11]: on the ground to rest real radio affiliates and those of you who are internet affiliates as well. [SPEAKER_11]: We're looking at you America one radio in Atlanta. [SPEAKER_11]: How about A M nine fifty Minneapolis same Paul. [SPEAKER_11]: Thank you very much. [SPEAKER_11]: WCP T AM A twenty in Chicago. [SPEAKER_11]: Thank you as well. [SPEAKER_11]: Detour talk in Tennessee. [SPEAKER_11]: Big thanks to you and progressive voices radio worldwide.
[SPEAKER_11]: Wherever he happened to be. [SPEAKER_11]: Thank you very much. [SPEAKER_11]: And all the ships that see. [SPEAKER_11]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_11]: Hey, since we're talking about ships, why don't we talk about drinks? [SPEAKER_11]: Because we know drink like a sailor. [SPEAKER_11]: And I was a sailor at one time. [SPEAKER_11]: So we're, you know, I can do that. [SPEAKER_11]: Today's drink of the day. [SPEAKER_11]: Well, first of all, what is the theme for the drink?
[SPEAKER_11]: What's the reason why we're doing this today? [SPEAKER_11]: Well, I mean, we drink every day. [SPEAKER_11]: Well, true, true. [SPEAKER_11]: Here at the politics bar, we do drink every day. [SPEAKER_11]: But look, we are also, we are also here. [SPEAKER_11]: We are all exactly. [SPEAKER_11]: And sometimes it ends in why, but here at the politics bar, we are exactly, we are all about the tooth.
[SPEAKER_11]: the truth sorry that's I can't handle the tooth well then find a dentist cheese yes it is national tooth fairy day so what is the drink of the day Jared it's the gray hounds tooth inspired by national tooth fairy day so first of all I love that Jodie left all of these for us [SPEAKER_10]: I feel like this one was a particular gift, like a quarter under our pillow, perhaps.
[SPEAKER_10]: Because wait a second, it's happening twice, it says by annual, which I was like, is it twice a year holiday? [SPEAKER_10]: You know, twice a year, which I was like, is it every other year or twice a year? [SPEAKER_11]: No, no, I think by annual is twice, is every two years and by annual is twice a year. [SPEAKER_11]: How dare you make me learn on this program? [SPEAKER_10]: So, okay. [SPEAKER_10]: Now, I have a five and a half year old.
[SPEAKER_10]: We've lost no teeth left with this child and he hasn't lost any of his baby. [SPEAKER_10]: No, no, no, this is normal. [SPEAKER_10]: This is usually six seven is when what Google has told me is normal, frankly, because I don't I don't know. [SPEAKER_11]: is good about it. [SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, Dr. Googleman, he's he's fine. [SPEAKER_10]: So no, we we haven't lost any yet. [SPEAKER_10]: We are I've also googled what's an appropriate amount of money to leave when this happens.
[SPEAKER_11]: Okay, because what is it now? [SPEAKER_10]: Because like when when when we were growing up, it was like, what a quarter. [SPEAKER_10]: Well, with inflation because of the Trump administration, it's a hundred and seventy thousand dollars. [SPEAKER_10]: Unfortunately. [SPEAKER_10]: That's the average. [SPEAKER_10]: But we're just going to put like a dollar. [SPEAKER_10]: I think.
[SPEAKER_10]: And then we're going to be hated and that's going to be what my kid talks about and therapy for the rest of them. [SPEAKER_11]: Give him a silver dollar because he'll think that's kind of cool. [SPEAKER_11]: Also, it's harder to spend. [UNKNOWN]: That's true. [SPEAKER_10]: Right now we're still at the age where because we haven't learned a lot about the different everything is this is how many money I have. [SPEAKER_10]: It's just money as a collective now.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_10]: I haven't I haven't had the heart to break it to them that the the coins that he has is like two dollars and seventeen cents but that's uh but you know we'll slow before Karen need to get here let me get through the drink today the recipe because it's good what you need here's the thing she eat a chilled coupe glass that's two doors not for [SPEAKER_11]: You know, it's your cool glass. [SPEAKER_11]: You need a shaker. [SPEAKER_11]: You need ice.
[SPEAKER_11]: You need three quarters ounce of Benedictine liquor, which that's the contemplative monastery. [SPEAKER_11]: Look, it's if you're not sure what it is, that's why we have a link to it there. [SPEAKER_11]: You need an ounce and a half of vodka. [SPEAKER_11]: Three quarters ounce pink grapefruit juice, preferably freshly squeezed. [SPEAKER_11]: A quarter ounce of lemon juice, again, freshly squeezed is better. [SPEAKER_11]: And eight drops of grapefruit bitters.
[SPEAKER_11]: It's a little bit of a fruity drink. [SPEAKER_11]: It's got a little kick to it. [SPEAKER_11]: Also, you want some lemon zest twist for garnish. [SPEAKER_11]: Now, here's what you do. [SPEAKER_11]: You take the shaker and the ice. [SPEAKER_11]: You put those together. [SPEAKER_11]: You put the bedding in liquor, the vodka, the grapefruit juice, the lemon and the bitters all into it. [SPEAKER_11]: And you shake until it is nicely chilled.
[SPEAKER_11]: Then you gently strain it into that chilled coop glass and make sure there's some ice in that glass. [SPEAKER_11]: If you want to, you can take it from the shaker where you can just have it separate and then you express the lemon zest twist over the cocktail and use as garnish. [SPEAKER_11]: Remember, take care of your teeth because yeah, if you don't have them, it's definitely not a good thing. [SPEAKER_11]: Trust me. [SPEAKER_11]: It's my floss.
[SPEAKER_11]: It's a question people only get like twice a year when they go to debt. [SPEAKER_11]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_11]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_11]: No, no, no. [SPEAKER_11]: I use the little floss pick things and everything. [SPEAKER_11]: Look, it is that Greyhound's tooth is the drink of the day. [SPEAKER_11]: If you missed it, you can subscribe at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_11]: Hey, Karen from Karen and any of them true blue politics is here at the bar and we are welcoming her in.
[SPEAKER_11]: Hey, Karen, how are you? [SPEAKER_02]: How are you? [SPEAKER_11]: We're doing good. [SPEAKER_11]: We're doing good. [SPEAKER_11]: We're here at the first segment of the top of the second hour. [SPEAKER_11]: In case you have not met him, this is the wonderful Jared Rizzi, Jared. [SPEAKER_11]: This is Karen Bern of True Blue politics. [SPEAKER_11]: Anyone in pleasure, Karen. [SPEAKER_11]: Love you. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, so nice to meet you. [SPEAKER_11]: Oh, it is good.
[SPEAKER_11]: We got to talk to you about about your governor because he's been doing some good things. [SPEAKER_11]: I've been really, really pleased with him about that. [SPEAKER_11]: Oh, hey, look. [SPEAKER_11]: Look who's just coming in the door behind you here. [SPEAKER_11]: Miss Anita, also of true blue politics. [SPEAKER_02]: You're parking the car. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay. [SPEAKER_02]: Well, thank you very much. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_11]: Sorry.
[SPEAKER_11]: You're doing Anita house things in Texas this week. [SPEAKER_03]: Um, you're, well, that's a great. [SPEAKER_03]: Actually, people who have said, yeah, but people who have said, you know, the thing is we don't get a voice. [SPEAKER_03]: We don't have a, you know, any voice. [SPEAKER_11]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_11]: We are definitely going to be talking about that here. [SPEAKER_11]: We are in the, the first segment of the second hour.
[SPEAKER_11]: Um, Karen, you guys both have, have your perspectives on the stuff that's going on with the redistricting wars. [SPEAKER_11]: And we definitely, part of the reason we wanted to have you guys here is because you're local. [SPEAKER_11]: You know what's going on in these kind of things. [SPEAKER_11]: Um, [SPEAKER_11]: We've got a couple of things we have talked about that are going on in Illinois. [SPEAKER_11]: Let's let's ask you first thing to in Texas.
[SPEAKER_11]: You're just saying that the big difference for those of you who don't know. [SPEAKER_11]: Newsom has signed the order. [SPEAKER_11]: He signed it last night. [SPEAKER_11]: That's the bill in California. [SPEAKER_11]: Their redistricting plan is now going to the voters November fourth. [SPEAKER_11]: Right. [SPEAKER_11]: And voters will get a choice. [SPEAKER_11]: But in Texas with the Texas Republicans did, they didn't give you guys a choice today.
[SPEAKER_03]: No, we have no voice in this. [SPEAKER_03]: They don't even allow a ballot initiatives. [SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, so no, it's totally our grab and then California it's it's on temporary first of all and they don't get rid of the independent panel. [SPEAKER_03]: This is this is all up to the voters for this ten years for ten years apparently and. [SPEAKER_03]: They get to look at the maps and say yes or no. [SPEAKER_03]: Right.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yep. [SPEAKER_03]: So what could be more democratic than that? [SPEAKER_11]: Right. [SPEAKER_11]: And in and in Texas, not only I've seen a few polls where you and your fellow Texans are really pissed off that we're having this through. [SPEAKER_11]: Well, yeah, it's and obviously you've got some independent neighbors. [SPEAKER_11]: You've got some Republican neighbors. [SPEAKER_11]: I'm guessing they're not happy either.
[SPEAKER_03]: No, I have talked to people like my husband's friends were like, you know, they were aware of it. [SPEAKER_03]: They understand what's going on. [SPEAKER_03]: They understand, yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: And they're good old boys, you know, the time. [SPEAKER_11]: Right. [SPEAKER_11]: They love they love Donald Trump. [SPEAKER_11]: They got their big old flags on their big old truck. [SPEAKER_11]: And yeah. [SPEAKER_11]: Right.
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, and yes, they're a stereotype which we think of, you know, you think about Texas. [SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, they're very worried. [SPEAKER_03]: And people just are not happy about this. [SPEAKER_03]: They don't feel like [SPEAKER_03]: They're even considered in the process. [SPEAKER_11]: I don't think they're in Texas. [SPEAKER_11]: So by the way, Anita, I haven't formally introduced you. [SPEAKER_11]: Anita, this happens to be Jared Rizzi, formerly of serious exam.
[SPEAKER_03]: Hi, Jared. [SPEAKER_11]: He is filling for Jody. [SPEAKER_10]: I'll lead me to Anita as well. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it was great. [SPEAKER_03]: Thank you for doing this. [SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, yeah, he's been good this week. [SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, I think so. [SPEAKER_10]: Why with that's the ton of surprise. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, right. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm like a shadow surprise. [SPEAKER_02]: So you expected something. [SPEAKER_02]: No, I'm muted.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're so crappy. [SPEAKER_11]: I knew Jar would be great, but it's always one of those things when you do a show with other people. [SPEAKER_11]: It is hard sometimes, especially if you're not all in the same physical room. [SPEAKER_11]: It's hard sometimes you got half second damage. [SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, exactly. [SPEAKER_11]: And it's hard that way to get everybody's voice in and to be making sure the sound is good and I'm making sure that everybody gets a chance.
[SPEAKER_11]: And then you got to guide things too. [SPEAKER_11]: You got the clock. [SPEAKER_11]: You got to worry about. [SPEAKER_11]: You have to create a shine. [SPEAKER_03]: You're very good at it. [SPEAKER_03]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_11]: Jared is too. [SPEAKER_11]: Jared's been graded a lot of stuff. [SPEAKER_10]: And this is also about, you know, generosity and hospitality.
[SPEAKER_10]: You know, you want to create an environment where people shine and that's, you know, Sean's excellent at that. [SPEAKER_10]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_11]: He's very good at that. [SPEAKER_03]: Very good. [SPEAKER_11]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_11]: We talked about this. [SPEAKER_11]: I'm sure you guys heard it on a couple of our shows earlier this week. [SPEAKER_11]: We were talking about hospitality.
[SPEAKER_11]: And the fact that it's important really to take time away, to go to restaurants and to go to bars and to have fun with your friends. [SPEAKER_11]: And the hospitality industry, there are some fantastic people, but a lot of people don't respect the folks that are in the hospitality industry. [SPEAKER_11]: And they're not idiots. [SPEAKER_11]: People in the hospitality industry, many of them are highly intelligent.
[SPEAKER_11]: They hear all the conversation, my, oh God, okay, so I have a story, another one. [SPEAKER_11]: Yes, I know, I know everybody. [SPEAKER_11]: Yes, I have a story, whatever. [SPEAKER_11]: But my mom growing up used to tell me, she used to say about me, she used to say little corn has big ears, because I grew up in Nebraska.
[SPEAKER_11]: And of course, you know that phrase little corn has because I was I was small but it meant that I heard everything and I did I heard and and people who are your servers people who are your bartenders People who are at retail stores they hear way more than most people think [SPEAKER_11]: And the kind of dismissiveness that a lot of people give to those people is, in general, the kind of dismissiveness that the Texas Republicans are giving to the people they serve.
[SPEAKER_11]: And a lot of Republicans in general have been giving to the whole idea of, well, we're just going to see. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and how about how they're treating their colleagues, the Democratic colleagues, holding them, you know, in that. [SPEAKER_11]: Right. [SPEAKER_11]: No, that's actually there's there's a great new piece out by Joan Walsh.
[SPEAKER_11]: We don't have it in the the news on tap today, but we will get it in a Monday and I think we're gonna have Joan on in the bar on Monday, too. [SPEAKER_11]: But yes, absolutely, because um, uh, Representative Nicole got him trying to remember her last. [SPEAKER_11]: Oh, yeah, yeah, she was. [SPEAKER_11]: She was by definition kidnapped by her Republican. [SPEAKER_03]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_03]: She's sewing them. [SPEAKER_03]: She's bringing it.
[SPEAKER_03]: She's [SPEAKER_02]: Well, and just the disrespect from Greg Abbott and Ken Paxton, even framing going and getting these Democrats is, you know, uh, you know, they're going to go round them up or, you know, and they had to sign that they were forced to sign a consent form. [SPEAKER_03]: They would have a like a police [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and escort everywhere.
[SPEAKER_11]: Only was more like a reminder that if they if they headed anywhere towards a plane or anything, then they were going to arrest them and drag them to the capture them. [SPEAKER_02]: It's like, yeah, it really doesn't hurt and bad. [SPEAKER_02]: It's just just so disrespectful beyond this respect. [SPEAKER_11]: Well, then when you compare it to the hospitality that was given by the folks who were in Illinois by JB. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, God. [SPEAKER_11]: Oh, God.
[SPEAKER_11]: You guys, you guys. [SPEAKER_02]: I was able to meet James Tolerico. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: I was. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: And she told him right. [SPEAKER_03]: He's stalker. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: Which is not true. [SPEAKER_03]: No. [SPEAKER_03]: No. [SPEAKER_03]: But mostly. [SPEAKER_11]: But look, Tolerico, Tolerico was a great example of a Texas Democrat. [SPEAKER_11]: Jamie Pritzker, by the way, did something fantastic.
[SPEAKER_11]: I believe it was yesterday, Karen. [SPEAKER_11]: I don't know if you saw this in the news, but he has launched the first in the nation, LGBTQ plus legal hotline. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Wow. [SPEAKER_02]: That's good. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: I can't say enough about my governor. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: He's, he's amazing. [SPEAKER_02]: I can't believe on the air. [SPEAKER_11]: It's a hundred per second.
[SPEAKER_11]: Oh, this is one of the reasons we love having Karen and Anita from True Blue politics and y'all We got couple more rounds. [SPEAKER_11]: We are so glad to have both of you here tonight And we are very glad that Jared Rizzi is in the house tonight as well We're very glad that you guys are in the house with us. [SPEAKER_11]: Thank you very much for coming out on the Friday night. [SPEAKER_11]: We got more of the news on tap and yeah

[SPEAKER_09]: We'll be right back after we pay some bills at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_11]: It is Friday night. [SPEAKER_11]: Here are the politics bar. [SPEAKER_11]: Thank you very much for joining us. [SPEAKER_11]: We have the one and only Jared Rizzi. [SPEAKER_11]: We have Karen and Anita from True Blue Politics. [SPEAKER_11]: And yeah, you're stuck with me, Sean Smith Pierce. [SPEAKER_11]: But some of you enjoy that and that's fine.
[SPEAKER_11]: Good. [SPEAKER_11]: I think you are intelligent people who enjoy having a good time. [SPEAKER_11]: And I'm very glad that you have joined us here, of course. [SPEAKER_09]: That's the politics bar. [SPEAKER_10]: You know, thank goodness Karen and Anita are here because Sean and I have been experiencing but I can only describe as a male loneliness epidemic. [SPEAKER_10]: I just think it's good that we're centering ourselves. [SPEAKER_10]: And then we're talking about us.
[SPEAKER_04]: That's right. [SPEAKER_11]: We had Parker McCoy on earlier. [SPEAKER_11]: We had Meredith Schiner on earlier in the week. [SPEAKER_11]: And now we have you guys, which is great. [SPEAKER_11]: We had a couple of days where it was all guys. [SPEAKER_11]: We had Charlie Pierce and we had John Fugle sang and we love those guys. [SPEAKER_11]: But I [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so all of which are great allies to him. [SPEAKER_02]: They're fit. [SPEAKER_11]: Yes, sure.
[SPEAKER_11]: They're all booked. [SPEAKER_11]: Look, I've got another story. [SPEAKER_11]: So when I was in the Navy, this was the early nineties and there is there is more co-ed stuff that's in the US military now than there used to be. [SPEAKER_11]: Well, when I was there, basically there was virtually no co-ed. [SPEAKER_11]: And so you were on a ship with a bunch of guys. [SPEAKER_11]: And for the first time in my life, I was in a situation where I didn't go to an all-boy school ever.
[SPEAKER_11]: I'd never, you know, done that kind of thing. [SPEAKER_11]: And [SPEAKER_11]: You notice a difference in the way that people speak in the way that people think. [SPEAKER_11]: I love women. [SPEAKER_11]: They're all kind of smell of the world. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_11]: I love women for a lot of reasons. [SPEAKER_11]: One of which happens to be the fact that women look at things differently than guys do. [SPEAKER_11]: And I love the perspectives that women have on.
[SPEAKER_11]: anything really different than a guy. [SPEAKER_11]: I love I love, um, trans people. [SPEAKER_11]: I love gay people because they have a different perspective than mine. [SPEAKER_11]: I love people who have different perspectives than mine. [SPEAKER_11]: People who have different racial factors. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_11]: God. [SPEAKER_11]: Yes. [SPEAKER_11]: I love them. [SPEAKER_11]: Because I don't have all the answers. [SPEAKER_11]: People don't.
[SPEAKER_11]: They're afraid. [SPEAKER_10]: You know, I need a one thing that I have over and over again talked about with my, I have a five year old at home is open this to new experience. [SPEAKER_10]: That's exactly right. [SPEAKER_10]: The next is the number one indication of both intelligence and connected a more liberal worldviews. [SPEAKER_10]: We want to make sure that, you know, you're going to try new things. [SPEAKER_10]: You're not going to like all of them the first time.
[SPEAKER_10]: You're going to keep trying them. [SPEAKER_10]: Really important because we know what's down that other path. [SPEAKER_02]: That's the kind of world that I want. [SPEAKER_02]: That's the kind of country that I want. [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the beautiful thing about our country is the diversity and the, you know, the cultural diversity, the religious diversity, the racial diversity and, you know, it is such, that is why I think it is just so astonishing and sad.
[SPEAKER_02]: They're, um, at what we're seeing happening with, you know, they're afraid of power. [SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, there's nothing more conservative than a big tough guy who's definitely afraid of cities, buses or typhoon. [SPEAKER_03]: They're afraid of everything. [SPEAKER_02]: It's just get outside of your bubble.
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, that is such an important thing that just, you know, to change your worldview, go get outside of your town, go visit, you know, [SPEAKER_02]: Talk to other people and read books and read books. [SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, and look John. [SPEAKER_11]: John few goes things new book is coming out separation of church and hate and that's good book.
[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, he was talking about it kind of as a guide manual, but I do think that we all kind of need to to have the idea that that we need to have guides. [SPEAKER_11]: One of the things that I have tried to guide people with, some people who maybe have leaned more to the right about, especially the misogyny and the lack of diversity, the anti-diversity, is, I say, okay, I say, usually a lot of these kind of people are big into sports.
[SPEAKER_11]: And they're not into the kind of the sports that we have in the news on tap today. [SPEAKER_11]: Look, the WNBA has smashed season attendance records. [SPEAKER_11]: They have these stuff three weeks left in the regular season, which is fantastic. [SPEAKER_11]: Um, my favorite team is playing tonight. [SPEAKER_11]: Do not do not spoil it for me. [SPEAKER_11]: I do not know who the Huskers.
[SPEAKER_11]: Number one rated Husker volleyball team is playing tonight in the AVCA first serve tournament. [SPEAKER_11]: You can check out the details. [SPEAKER_11]: I got those in there. [SPEAKER_11]: entertainment section of politics bar.com. [SPEAKER_11]: But look, that it is, it is great to have, you know, fun sports, interesting sports, WNBA, volleyball. [SPEAKER_11]: It's great to have women being great in sports.
[SPEAKER_03]: I love all those sports, but they, they don't, they don't like soccer. [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, they're, but I like football and soccer. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_11]: And look out for both season is starting this weekend too. [SPEAKER_11]: And in a right, here's the thing that I will, I will use as a guide to some of these folks. [SPEAKER_11]: And I say, OK, because some of them like playing fantasy sports, Parker Mooye loves playing fantasy sports.
[SPEAKER_11]: She's great at that. [SPEAKER_11]: And I will say, but she's smart. [SPEAKER_11]: I'm like there. [SPEAKER_03]: I can't get into the fantasy story. [SPEAKER_11]: People don't. [SPEAKER_11]: But here's the things. [SPEAKER_11]: A lot of them like that. [SPEAKER_11]: And what you say is you say, OK, so you're going to build a team, right? [SPEAKER_11]: OK. [SPEAKER_11]: And you say, how about, what would you think?
[SPEAKER_11]: If somebody said they're going to build a basketball team, but they didn't accept anybody over six feet. [SPEAKER_11]: Or I got it. [SPEAKER_11]: I'm going to build a football team, a college football team, but I'm not going to have any black or brown people on it. [SPEAKER_11]: Or I'm going to build a college volleyball team. [SPEAKER_11]: But I don't want any women on it. [SPEAKER_11]: First of all, you're not going to have that.
[SPEAKER_11]: It'd be a guys follow-up team and that's it. [SPEAKER_11]: And you start making these, and they go, well, that's stupid because I want to be able to pick the best player from anywhere. [SPEAKER_11]: And that's what I say, look, in life, in life, we do not go through this alone. [SPEAKER_11]: The idea of, you know, I am the smart man. [SPEAKER_11]: I am the self-made man or self-made woman. [SPEAKER_11]: You ain't self-made nothing.
[SPEAKER_11]: You there because your parents and the people who helped build you up are there. [SPEAKER_11]: You had a team. [SPEAKER_11]: Every one of us has a team in life. [SPEAKER_11]: That's just how it is. [SPEAKER_11]: Right. [SPEAKER_11]: So why would you want to be limited to who you can add to your team? [SPEAKER_11]: You want to put the best people for every challenge that you're going to face on your team standing with you. [SPEAKER_11]: Not again.
[SPEAKER_03]: And that's what the EIS, really. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: It's actually a merit base. [SPEAKER_03]: It's actually merit base. [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: It's the best applicant from a bigger pool. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: That's all. [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Diversity, equity and inclusion. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: That's what it is. [SPEAKER_02]: Let's say.
[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_11]: And you just, and the whole, the whole fact of the matter is, is that when you, when you put that in front of people like that and you guide them, a lot of them are like, yeah, I can see how that would, that would be a dumb idea to limit yourself to, you know, like less than so, because for everything to be better, you know, it, it, it challenges people to strive to do better and be better.
[SPEAKER_02]: And so it just makes, it just makes, whatever it's, you're, we're applying it to better. [SPEAKER_10]: Right. [SPEAKER_10]: It's either, it's either, it's either, it's either that they're afraid or they're, they're the kind of man. [SPEAKER_10]: I'm because I'm the way that you're describing it. [SPEAKER_10]: It's a man who really genuinely in his core believes that he could score a point against Serena Williams. [SPEAKER_03]: I've seen that happen before.
[SPEAKER_03]: I know my, Jim, my brother goes on. [SPEAKER_03]: There was a WMBA player there. [SPEAKER_03]: A woman, of course, WMBA. [SPEAKER_03]: And some guy, you know, said, you know, he's growing. [SPEAKER_03]: I want to want to beat her. [SPEAKER_03]: She got to ask it. [SPEAKER_03]: He got his ass kicked. [SPEAKER_03]: Yep, of course.
[SPEAKER_11]: I mean, just because he's a pro and he's an amateur and that's one of the reasons why a lot of those people They they may be misogynist or racist or bigots all of the above right [SPEAKER_03]: But it's not just sports. [SPEAKER_03]: They don't want to have to compete with the people like brown and black people and women who might be better than them.
[SPEAKER_03]: But when you hear the white man don't want to be, you know, because for a black man, let's look at Barack Obama, Barack Obama, look how. [SPEAKER_03]: Great. [SPEAKER_03]: He had to be in everything. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: You know, go to Harvard and be president of the Harvard Law Review and just be brilliant and write it. [SPEAKER_03]: Hold your prize when he book and I've got Trump was filled up all his whole life. [SPEAKER_11]: Mm-hmm.
[SPEAKER_11]: Very much so very much so you guys did you guys see his Trump's little stupid comment about grass. [SPEAKER_11]: Last night. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh my god. [SPEAKER_03]: He's great on grass. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay. [SPEAKER_11]: Okay. [SPEAKER_11]: Karen misses here. [SPEAKER_11]: Let me put this in the DVR care. [SPEAKER_11]: And this this was him last night when he decided to go out and cosplay as an ice guy. [SPEAKER_11]: He was going to go on. [SPEAKER_11]: He was going to go on.
[SPEAKER_11]: Right. [SPEAKER_11]: So we went on. [SPEAKER_11]: He stood around with a bunch of ice guys and National Guards people. [SPEAKER_11]: But this is what Donnie Dumas said here. [SPEAKER_00]: See one of the things we're going to be redoing is your park. [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm very good at grass because I have a lot of golf courses all over the place. [SPEAKER_00]: I know more about grass than any human being. [SPEAKER_00]: I think anywhere in the world.
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh my god, he snows more about nuclear, too. [SPEAKER_00]: And he knows about ballroom. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he knows the right. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, he didn't busy. [SPEAKER_03]: He's their landscape right now. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay. [SPEAKER_11]: Here's the thing. [SPEAKER_11]: Here's the thing. [SPEAKER_11]: This is one of these things where you actually have to look at this because of Donnie and the Doge bags from Elon, they fired over a thousand national park workers.
[SPEAKER_11]: They fired a lot of landscaping workers. [SPEAKER_11]: So we want to do Donnie actually get out there and put the grass seat in there. [SPEAKER_03]: No, no, no. [SPEAKER_03]: I think they're just trying to keep them busy. [SPEAKER_11]: I think he's failing more than any of them will ever admit because he's their meal ticket.
[SPEAKER_11]: I think he's got cognitive issues and I think they are doing everything they can to get him in certain limited situations in front of the media because he insists on being in front of the media. [SPEAKER_11]: But try to limit it because they're worried that he's going to really, really, really make an ass of himself. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, today, they were supposed to really see FC Files. [SPEAKER_03]: Did you see this press conference?
[SPEAKER_03]: You didn't have this big announcement. [SPEAKER_03]: It's big announcement about, and he starts calling it a hoax again. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: And then he starts showing everybody a picture of him and Putin that Putin signing. [SPEAKER_04]: He's very proud of his picture. [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, this guy is gone. [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: He is completely gone. [SPEAKER_10]: And I'll just say this, Sean, I think you're being really unfair to the president.
[SPEAKER_10]: One issue because you say he doesn't know anything about ballroom. [SPEAKER_10]: This is a man's pants are so bad. [SPEAKER_04]: He did. [SPEAKER_04]: It's true. [SPEAKER_04]: That's his tailor. [SPEAKER_11]: Let's give credit where credit is due. [SPEAKER_11]: We're gonna. [SPEAKER_11]: Who looks does dumpy is Donald Trump. [SPEAKER_11]: He has an excellent Taylor.
[SPEAKER_11]: Now whether he actually pays attention and wears the correct suit for the correct day, that's a different store or or pays the bills after God. [SPEAKER_10]: We're gonna have generations of men who are dressing so poorly because they're imitating. [SPEAKER_10]: We've lost we've lost thirty-five years that we could have had of Pedro Pascal limitations because there's going to be men who think that the tie down to the kneecap is where you should be wearing.
[SPEAKER_11]: But look, that's, that's just it. [SPEAKER_11]: I mean, the comparison we can make, you know, Joe Biden usually looked really put together. [SPEAKER_11]: Look, come on Harris, Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama, even Nazis look, Donald Trump. [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he's like a sloppy Nazi. [SPEAKER_02]: It's no bad ideas and brainstorming. [SPEAKER_10]: We've been talking about this, this fascism by morons. [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the whole other kind.
[SPEAKER_10]: Well, if you know because if you had a competent intelligent in the show, it couldn't be fascist fascism puts loyalty over competence. [SPEAKER_11]: But they're not too much. [SPEAKER_11]: No, but the Nazis very much. [SPEAKER_11]: They had they were very sharp that way and it's scary. [SPEAKER_11]: That's what we think of that way, but I'm not so sure. [SPEAKER_03]: There were some. [SPEAKER_03]: There were some competent people.
[SPEAKER_03]: Honestly, if they look, people that surrounded Hitler or Iraqis, [SPEAKER_03]: And the reason why they got their butts kicked eventually because he wouldn't listen, they would they would just lie to him. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, because they were free. [SPEAKER_04]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: And that's exactly what we've got going on in the White House. [SPEAKER_02]: Right, extremely familiar.
[SPEAKER_10]: Nope. [SPEAKER_10]: You totally got rid of all the Iranian nuclear weapons with the bomb that only went down. [SPEAKER_03]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: And he well, probably that's where he's been told. [SPEAKER_11]: Well, look here's the thing that the Bolton stuff, it is scary.
[SPEAKER_11]: It is scary because, you know, anytime that the government is allowed to come into your house and search your house or search your office or search your workplace, looking for dirt on you. [SPEAKER_11]: Well, we all know that if if somebody looks hard enough at anything that any of us have done, they could probably find something. [SPEAKER_11]: So yes, that is scary. [SPEAKER_11]: At the same time, it seems like John Bolton was aware that Donald Trump was going to be doing this.
[SPEAKER_11]: Obviously, he probably, I mean, you got to remember. [SPEAKER_11]: Bolton was a huge critic of Trump's classified document F-up at Mara Logo. [SPEAKER_11]: He was a critic, even of Biden's controversy about his documents in his garage. [SPEAKER_11]: I honestly think, you know, there are some people, Cash Patel, for example, who I would not trust with documents. [SPEAKER_11]: But I know I don't let Bolton. [SPEAKER_11]: I mean, you know, professionally.
[SPEAKER_11]: I don't like him personally. [SPEAKER_11]: He's okay. [SPEAKER_11]: He wouldn't be somebody that I would choose to. [SPEAKER_11]: But if I was on a party with him, I'd be like, well, whatever. [SPEAKER_11]: I mean, he's not, you know, he's not he's not. [SPEAKER_11]: It's a great ball, he's not. [SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, he's just kind of, you know. [SPEAKER_10]: I'll say two things. [SPEAKER_10]: One, how dare this administration make me feel sorry for John Bolton?
[SPEAKER_04]: And he's right, right? [SPEAKER_03]: And we're two. [SPEAKER_03]: That's the worst part of this. [SPEAKER_10]: And two, responding to a little bit of what both Karen and Anita said earlier, you know, there's a big difference. [SPEAKER_10]: There are many big differences, but there's a big difference that worries me about now versus, you know, Nazi Germany, which is we have phones in our pockets, computers on our desks.
[SPEAKER_10]: And everything around us with so much data, what Sean just said a second ago about anybody can judge up anything. [SPEAKER_10]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_10]: And now there's little devices, you know, we used to have to kill the cop in your mind. [SPEAKER_10]: Now you've got to kill the cop in your pocket, the one that's on your desk, the one that's been following every purchase you ever make.
[SPEAKER_10]: You know, there's a reason the Germans have been a cash society for the last eighty years. [SPEAKER_11]: But here's here's the thing here's the thing the fact of the matter is If they really wanted to get that you know get get something on all of us they probably could but they would have to be very sharp and that's why it's like you know fascism. [SPEAKER_04]: That's why yeah exactly [SPEAKER_11]: We want to keep you guys around for last call as usual.
[SPEAKER_11]: May we do that? [SPEAKER_11]: Young ladies? [SPEAKER_11]: Yes. [SPEAKER_11]: Of course. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm not going anywhere. [SPEAKER_11]: Karen, they're eating from true blue politics are here to close out the night and close out the week. [SPEAKER_11]: Thank you very much for closing it out with us. [SPEAKER_11]: You want stick around, yes? [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah? [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay. [SPEAKER_11]: Everybody, everybody here sticking around.
[SPEAKER_11]: We got one more round. [SPEAKER_11]: Last call on a Friday night with Jared and me and Karen and Anita. [SPEAKER_11]: Here's politics bar. [SPEAKER_11]: Get chocolate for everyone. [SPEAKER_11]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_11]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_09]: We'll be right back after we pay some bills at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_11]: It is a last call on a Friday night here at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_11]: Thank you very much for hanging out with us this evening and this week.
[SPEAKER_11]: Remember if you missed anything here on the show, best thing you could do is the DVR that's in your phone. [SPEAKER_11]: It's called your podcast player. [SPEAKER_11]: Check it out, type us in the politics bar or hey, just subscribe at the politics bar dot com. [SPEAKER_11]: All right, so we were talking about this fascism by morons and you know, look, I understand some some people kind of think that I'm being flippant when I say that and I'm not being flippant.
[SPEAKER_11]: Look, these people are dangerous. [SPEAKER_11]: They're scary. [SPEAKER_11]: But at the same time, their incompetence is one of the reasons why, in general, as a general rule, I am not. [SPEAKER_11]: Anyway, six was a failure. [SPEAKER_03]: That's one of them because they're stupid. [SPEAKER_03]: That's why January six failed. [SPEAKER_03]: But I do worry about like Bobby Kennedy. [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, this, the kind of step is coming out.
[SPEAKER_03]: There's not nobody can get vaccinated except if you're over sixty five. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, go to vaccine. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, you'll get it. [SPEAKER_11]: You'll have to pay for it. [SPEAKER_03]: And yeah, I mean, there's, there's a lot of, there's a lot of stuff. [SPEAKER_03]: So all of the poor people are going to be having, I mean, it's just insane. [SPEAKER_03]: We've got, what is it, tuberculosis, spreading in these concentrations, concentration camps, it's just insane.
[SPEAKER_03]: Polio cases, all these, you know, measly diseases that were eradicated. [SPEAKER_03]: That's dangerous. [SPEAKER_03]: We're going to, Texas, we had a big outbreak. [SPEAKER_11]: Right. [SPEAKER_11]: Right. [SPEAKER_11]: We have you did earlier. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_11]: And it's because of it's because of people who align themselves with our kid junior. [SPEAKER_11]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_03]: But it's not going to get vaccinated.
[SPEAKER_03]: They're not promoting vaccinations. [SPEAKER_10]: Right. [SPEAKER_10]: And since John Fu of the saying isn't here right now, I'll just point out that there is no major world religion that prohibits you from getting a vaccine. [SPEAKER_10]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_10]: Right. [SPEAKER_10]: I just the people who are no. [SPEAKER_10]: And this is and by the way, this is one area where there have been plenty of people on the crunchy left and the crunchy right.
[SPEAKER_10]: We have decided to do their own research and your research is wrong. [SPEAKER_04]: Right. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Your research is wrong. [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Your research is wrong. [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: And if it's, if it's the religion of Julian Michaels and Joe Rogan or whatever, whatever that hack that, you know, oh my god, I know. [SPEAKER_02]: But I mean, yeah, it's like this is the thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: We live in a country where we're supposed to respect the science, we're supposed to follow the facts. [SPEAKER_02]: And when there are diseases and we have research and development and all of this effort and time and money put into it, they were supposed to be able to have access to the vaccinations that will keep us healthy. [SPEAKER_02]: We'll keep our children alive and you know, so that's the part that is just.
[SPEAKER_03]: The anti-vaccine has, you know, the parks, it used to be on the left. [SPEAKER_03]: There was a lot of people on the left, a lot of people are left. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay, I remember Tom Harman having Bobby Kennedy on all the, you know, a couple of times. [SPEAKER_03]: Look, Randy, you start talking about vaccines on the show with Tom Harman. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: He was talking about how they were giving children. [SPEAKER_03]: Uh, what is that?
[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, to some autism from their shot and Tom Arman was platforming in. [SPEAKER_03]: We didn't have a question back. [SPEAKER_11]: We didn't. [SPEAKER_11]: We didn't even have room in the news on tap this week, but it's it is interesting to note that, you know, RFK junior Bobby says, you know, he wants to find the cause of this.
[SPEAKER_11]: You want to know one of the groups that they fired at the NIH and now that they've been defunding all of these things in part takes to the Supreme Court ruling this week about defunding the NIH. [SPEAKER_11]: That's right. [SPEAKER_11]: We have the news on tap, but [SPEAKER_11]: One of these departments that they defunded, literally, they got everybody in the department and the whole job was to find the cause of autism.
[SPEAKER_11]: And they got, so you can't tell me that you actually want to find the cause of autism when you literally fire everyone in the department that is there and their job is to find the cause of autism. [SPEAKER_03]: I know, don't tell me you care about national security when they fired half the people and intelligence.
[SPEAKER_10]: Oh, God. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_10]: And the, and the other half are being forced to walk around my neighborhood in Washington DC and pretend to be, you'll beat cops essentially. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, my God. [SPEAKER_03]: But they're in Georgetown. [SPEAKER_03]: They're at the mall. [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, we're with all the crime. [SPEAKER_03]: It's great. [SPEAKER_11]: But they've got to get their steps at least. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[SPEAKER_02]: They're good. [SPEAKER_02]: They're good steps. [SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, it is absolutely insane. [SPEAKER_11]: We have some of the stories on that here in the news on tap in the Justice and Injustice section. [SPEAKER_11]: We've got the Supreme Court allowing the Trump regime to cut seven hundred and eighty-three million in from the NIH research grants. [SPEAKER_11]: Here's the Ian Millhizer. [SPEAKER_11]: Great, great journalist. [SPEAKER_11]: He's got a piece up.
[SPEAKER_11]: We got a link to it as well. [SPEAKER_11]: He's over at Vox. [SPEAKER_11]: You want to know what to just as Jackson said about this decision they did yesterday. [SPEAKER_11]: She called it Calvin ball jurist prudence brilliant. [SPEAKER_11]: It was yeah, because it's you should you should read the piece. [SPEAKER_11]: It's complicated, but you should read it's it's some good stuff. [SPEAKER_11]: There is some there is some good happens.
[SPEAKER_11]: Be some good legal news though as far as that goes. [SPEAKER_11]: So Elena Haba. [SPEAKER_11]: Sorry, I'm sorry about that. [SPEAKER_11]: federal federal judge ruled that she has been unlawfully serving as the U.S. [SPEAKER_11]: attorney in New Jersey. [SPEAKER_11]: Yes, and so she is, you know, well, because look, and I knew this would happen. [SPEAKER_11]: So did a whole bunch of other people.
[SPEAKER_11]: Obviously, the Trump regime is going to challenge this, but it is very likely to be upheld because the law is pretty strict about that stuff. [SPEAKER_11]: And the people who were actually who actually had committed crimes were challenging that saying, I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_11]: But the attorney, the US attorney New Jersey who is prosecuting us right now, she doesn't have the right to do it. [SPEAKER_11]: And they're right. [SPEAKER_11]: She doesn't.
[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, so any prosecution, she does, those cases could be completely dismissed, right? [SPEAKER_11]: There you go. [SPEAKER_11]: Or turned? [SPEAKER_11]: Big O, Tom. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_11]: Or turned dismissed, thrown out. [SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, exactly. [SPEAKER_11]: But look, this goes along with the other story that we have about the Trump regime's war on good government. [SPEAKER_11]: The FBI is lowering their recruiting standards, which is alarming.
[SPEAKER_11]: I'm not sure. [SPEAKER_11]: I'm not sure. [SPEAKER_11]: Well, yeah. [SPEAKER_11]: I will be glad that we can do it on the other end of it. [SPEAKER_11]: Then we can tell these people, hey, you know what, we've up our standards up yours. [SPEAKER_11]: That's right. [SPEAKER_10]: The FBI is having so much trouble recruiting when they reboot twin peaks again. [SPEAKER_10]: It's only one week. [SPEAKER_10]: Well played speaking of twin peaks.
[SPEAKER_10]: There's some good entertainment news about twin peaks. [SPEAKER_11]: Twin Pigs is a good show peacemaker. [SPEAKER_11]: One of Bob says his favorite, which Bob will be back from vacation next week as well. [SPEAKER_11]: peacemaker season two launched. [SPEAKER_11]: I believe last winter tonight. [SPEAKER_11]: There is some interesting and somewhat racy stuff in there. [SPEAKER_11]: You can read that in the entertainment section. [SPEAKER_11]: Happy Gilmore, too, which I said.
[SPEAKER_11]: If you like the first one, you'll like the second one. [SPEAKER_11]: A lot of people liked it. [SPEAKER_11]: It scored the highest weekly movie viewership in the history of Nails since top ten during the opening weekend. [SPEAKER_11]: So a lot of people are in the mood to laugh. [SPEAKER_11]: I am also in the mood to laugh at something Charlotte Climer wrote about. [SPEAKER_11]: I believe you sent me this one, Jared, which is absolutely great.
[SPEAKER_11]: She makes a fantastic point about this. [SPEAKER_11]: Have you guys been hearing either of you, Karen, and have you heard about this ridiculousness, the latest faux controversy on the right about male cheerleaders? [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yes, they're very upset about the burial. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, great to get to the dead. [SPEAKER_03]: And then cracker barrel, okay. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah.
[SPEAKER_11]: We even put the cracker barrel thing in here, which the cracker barrel thing to me is as somebody who has done graphic design for, okay, I literally go back to Photoshop one point. [SPEAKER_11]: Oh, in the mid-eighties, I kidging not. [SPEAKER_11]: That's how far back I go. [SPEAKER_11]: The yellow. [SPEAKER_10]: That's when you used it to add the, uh, the, uh, the animal to the cave painting. [SPEAKER_11]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_11]: The, the, the yellow shadow on the cracker barrel logo, the new one. [SPEAKER_11]: You all look at it. [SPEAKER_11]: I'm sure you've seen it. [SPEAKER_11]: It is a silhouette of a barrel. [SPEAKER_11]: And yet there are plenty of people in the right who are going, what's that big yellow blob? [SPEAKER_11]: They love the cracker, the cowboy. [SPEAKER_11]: And I understand, look, they can't read, so I understand that they'll make a picture.
[SPEAKER_03]: We found ourselves in the exact same point, Jinks. [SPEAKER_03]: Mike, I've heard the marty. [SPEAKER_11]: That's great. [SPEAKER_10]: I'm genuinely upset that this is where I feel like certain people need to have natural predators, like I just wish to live. [SPEAKER_04]: Right. [SPEAKER_10]: Too easy of a life. [SPEAKER_10]: If you, if you give a damn about the Cracker Barrel logo.
[SPEAKER_03]: I know, my great, but Elsa, you must not have anything going on in your life seriously. [SPEAKER_10]: Is there an M&M you wish you was sexier? [SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, right. [SPEAKER_10]: I long for the days when that was the thing here. [SPEAKER_03]: Mr. Potato had no problem. [SPEAKER_03]: You waiting more? [SPEAKER_11]: I saw this in division to care about male cheerleaders. [SPEAKER_11]: I'm sitting there going, I think what is it?
[SPEAKER_11]: Eleven or twelve teams in the NFL have male cheerleaders and they don't seem to have had problems with the male cheerleaders who occasionally throw some of the cheerleaders up in the, you know, for a, for a, for a, for a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, [SPEAKER_03]: I didn't go to a concert. [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, seriously.
[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_11]: Have they never been to a Leonard Skinner concert where people are dancing? [SPEAKER_10]: They've not. [SPEAKER_10]: No. [SPEAKER_10]: People who go to see Glenn Beck live. [SPEAKER_10]: Okay. [SPEAKER_02]: You know, only beach females. [SPEAKER_02]: Otherwise, if there's any, any other being dancing around and flouncing around and they get feels. [SPEAKER_11]: But in kind of way, they get very uncomfortable feels that they think are attractive.
[SPEAKER_11]: Which I'm like, oh, yeah, they don't like Beyonce. [SPEAKER_11]: They don't like Beyonce. [SPEAKER_03]: What the hell? [SPEAKER_03]: I was speaking with she put out that Levi's ad. [SPEAKER_03]: That's what them out to. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: But the thing is, there's a thing. [SPEAKER_03]: When when they were trying to convince us that we were very, very upset about the Sydney Sweeney ad, the jeans and yes, I was like, I had never been heard about it.
[SPEAKER_03]: I've never heard anybody talking about it. [SPEAKER_03]: But now look at them. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, the stupid crack. [SPEAKER_11]: Oh, there's and there's a gap. [SPEAKER_11]: I think gap. [SPEAKER_11]: I put out a couple of of ads that are are really interesting. [SPEAKER_11]: I have a lot of diversity and and there I guess having a fit about that. [SPEAKER_11]: I just right. [SPEAKER_10]: But get to the punchline of the climber piece because this is the best part of this.
[SPEAKER_10]: You tell it. [SPEAKER_10]: You tell the conversation about, you know, we can't have male cheerleaders. [SPEAKER_10]: We can't have male cheerleaders. [SPEAKER_10]: Climate points out that there have been more Republican presidents who were male cheerleaders. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_10]: Which Debbie Bush. [SPEAKER_10]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_11]: Jared is right. [SPEAKER_11]: I'm just saying. [SPEAKER_10]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_10]: Charlie Clymer. [SPEAKER_10]: Charlie Clymer is right.
[SPEAKER_11]: Well, this is Charlie Clymer is right. [SPEAKER_11]: And this is true. [SPEAKER_11]: Because the fact of the matter is, I think it's important that I am in to credit for this. [SPEAKER_11]: I'm going to point out what my colleague said in the bar at some point here. [SPEAKER_11]: And I absolutely, I think she's great. [SPEAKER_11]: So yeah. [SPEAKER_11]: But okay, you said you were saying something. [SPEAKER_11]: I apologize, you're good.
[SPEAKER_10]: No, but I just think it's great that George Bush should come out and say, look, I hate what this administration is doing on Petfar and also here are some sick moves.
[SPEAKER_10]: He did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did, he did
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, maybe I would do that. [SPEAKER_11]: I'm glad that I'm glad that we are this is the thing we are all able to laugh at the stupidity and the ridiculous thing of their fascism because it is ridiculous and it is stupid. [SPEAKER_11]: It is just it is you know just completely moronic the things that they're doing and I'm glad that we can we weren't able to laugh at it.
[SPEAKER_11]: We'd be crying about it and and that's you know that they're so like sensitive [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, and yet, they're always telling us that we're the ones who are like, you know, little snowflakes and we're, you know, if you're feeling, go to your safe place. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: And they need to save places all the time. [SPEAKER_03]: That's why they have to go to Fox. [SPEAKER_11]: I love that. [SPEAKER_11]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_11]: I need it is right.
[SPEAKER_11]: Just say. [SPEAKER_11]: I'm carrying you just right because you're caring. [SPEAKER_11]: I'm the only one who didn't get the bell tonight. [SPEAKER_11]: That's okay because I'm the one who has the bell. [SPEAKER_11]: It's fine. [SPEAKER_10]: I get it. [SPEAKER_10]: It's sitting on the side of the bar. [SPEAKER_10]: Okay. [SPEAKER_10]: There we go. [SPEAKER_10]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_10]: But I was going to ding for you. [SPEAKER_11]: Sure. [SPEAKER_11]: That's when the bar closes.
[SPEAKER_12]: No. [SPEAKER_11]: the whole thing is there are great reasons to laugh and to have fun. [SPEAKER_11]: I am hoping that everybody here gets out this weekend and goes and explores for anybody who is anywhere near the Twin Cities. [SPEAKER_11]: Look, if you have a chance to go to the Minnesota State Fair by highly recommended as absolutely fantastic.
[SPEAKER_11]: Look, get some rest this weekend, have some fun, watch peacemaker watch happy Gilmore two, watch some WNBA, watch some college football, have some fun with your friends. [SPEAKER_11]: That's one of the things we want to do. [SPEAKER_02]: Jared, great job this week. [SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much. [SPEAKER_10]: I'll just say one more thing. [SPEAKER_10]: Kilmar, a break of our see it is free. [SPEAKER_11]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_11]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Great. [SPEAKER_11]: We'll talk to you about that. [SPEAKER_11]: And we will talk about it in the after hours. [SPEAKER_11]: Look, okay. [SPEAKER_11]: I need to thank you so much. [SPEAKER_11]: We will see you guys again here next week. [SPEAKER_11]: We got a Joan Walsh coming in next week. [SPEAKER_11]: Bob says we'll back and Jody will be back in the bar as well. [SPEAKER_10]: I'm Ms. [SPEAKER_10]: Jody.
[SPEAKER_10]: I'm Ms. [SPEAKER_10]: Jody. [SPEAKER_11]: Show me here on Monday. [SPEAKER_11]: Did she die? [SPEAKER_11]: You're heavy. [SPEAKER_11]: Guys, thank you very much. [SPEAKER_11]: We'll see you on Monday here at the Poff inch bar.
