[SPEAKER_10]: It's political. [SPEAKER_08]: Thank you, radical. [SPEAKER_10]: Shotsmith Pearson, Jodie Helton. [SPEAKER_07]: Hey, Jodie! [SPEAKER_08]: Hey, Sean! [SPEAKER_07]: Oh my god, it's Friday. [SPEAKER_07]: Holy crap. [SPEAKER_07]: I know you and I are not the only ones feeling that way. [SPEAKER_07]: You got a war over here. [SPEAKER_07]: You got a war over there. [SPEAKER_07]: It's like the whole Eddie isard thing. [SPEAKER_07]: Remember we talked about that a jihad on everything.

[SPEAKER_07]: We're going to talk about how stupid Republicans are and how they got way too many wars out there and they ain't going win any of them. [SPEAKER_07]: They keep doing this kind of thing. [SPEAKER_07]: Democrats are thankfully standing up and fighting back. [SPEAKER_07]: We have some great news on that as well. [SPEAKER_07]: It's all part of the news on tap. [SPEAKER_07]: Hopefully you subscribed and you got that today. [SPEAKER_07]: We'll go over it tonight.

[SPEAKER_07]: Don't work. [SPEAKER_07]: We also happen to have Karen and Anita from True Blue politics coming in to kind of help us keep our cool and celebrate some of the good things that happened this week. [SPEAKER_07]: Yep. [SPEAKER_07]: Big thank you by the way to all of the affiliates. [SPEAKER_07]: Wherever you happen to be progressive voices, we thank you wherever you're listening around the world.

[SPEAKER_07]: Big thanks to D-Tour Talk in the Tri-City area of Tennessee. [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, and thank you, by the way, to all of you who are our future people. [SPEAKER_07]: We've had several different future people reach out on different, some of the different platforms you can contact us on.

[SPEAKER_07]: You can do that anytime you want. [SPEAKER_07]: It's real simple. [SPEAKER_07]: You can go to Blue Sky or Threads, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, or Substack, just reach out send us messages. [SPEAKER_07]: So thank you very much, future people. [SPEAKER_07]: I love the future people. [SPEAKER_07]: I do too, and they love you. [SPEAKER_07]: They're like, I love Jody. [SPEAKER_07]: And well, I love you too, because you're adorable.

[SPEAKER_07]: you are adorable you're also very smart and you're very talented there's nobody who I would appreciate doing this show with more than you honestly because we we were talking about this this has just been oh my god the news is just it's and it's it's not like it's all that bad right it's just [SPEAKER_07]: Do you remember this this is this is going to take you back a little bit. [SPEAKER_07]: Two thousand two October.

[SPEAKER_07]: Do you remember then God, I don't even think he was a senator then Obama. [SPEAKER_07]: He gave a speech. [SPEAKER_07]: He might have been a senator. [SPEAKER_07]: He gave a speech about the Iraq war. [SPEAKER_15]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: And that's the one where he says, well, I've got the quote for it here. [SPEAKER_07]: I'm going to paraphrase it a little bit. [SPEAKER_07]: He said, what I am opposed to is a dumb war. [SPEAKER_07]: What I am opposed to is a rash war.

[SPEAKER_07]: What I am opposed to is the cynical attempt by Republican war hawks and other armchair weekend warriors to shove their own ideological agendas down our throats irrespective of the costs in lives loss and in hardships born. [SPEAKER_07]: Thank you, man. [SPEAKER_07]: President Obama. [SPEAKER_07]: Well, I was long before he's president, but yeah, stupid wars are stupid. [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, Jodi is right. [SPEAKER_07]: But they're also terminally stupid.

[SPEAKER_07]: They are the kind of stupid that comes from a lack of intelligence, a lack of wisdom, and a lack of empathy or concern. [SPEAKER_07]: And they kill lives and careers and economies and governments. [SPEAKER_07]: And this is exactly what we're looking at, what the Trump maggots are doing. [SPEAKER_07]: You can check it all apps. [SPEAKER_07]: It's all part of the news on tap today at thepoliticsbar.com.

[SPEAKER_07]: We will start with the big war, the redistricting wars that are going on. [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, did you see today? [SPEAKER_07]: I've got a clip that had the end of the Texas House Speaker. [SPEAKER_07]: They failed to reach Quorum again today. [SPEAKER_15]: And good for the dams. [SPEAKER_15]: I'm just gonna say that. [SPEAKER_07]: There are only five short of a Quorum there. [SPEAKER_07]: So Democrats, you've got to stay out Texas Democrats.

[SPEAKER_07]: You've got to stay out of your state because they're going crazy about that. [SPEAKER_07]: The Jack asked Texas House Republican Speaker, Dustin Burrows. [SPEAKER_07]: If I've ever heard a do for your white boy name. [SPEAKER_07]: Sorry, just is. [SPEAKER_07]: So he not only says, you know, all threatens and we're gonna arrest you over you go out because we got blah, blah, blah. [SPEAKER_07]: So he added more pain today. [SPEAKER_07]: He added what's called counter value.

[SPEAKER_07]: We're gonna talk about counter force and counter value today because these are two concepts that everybody here in the bar needs to need to understand counter force and counter value. [SPEAKER_07]: We've got a link to two and article on that. [SPEAKER_07]: We'll talk about that a little bit. [SPEAKER_07]: But here's what Dustin Burrow said. [SPEAKER_07]: He started limiting paychecks for these democratic house members in Texas in order to get their paycheck.

[SPEAKER_07]: They now must pick them up in person. [SPEAKER_15]: So they can just pile up. [SPEAKER_07]: I guess that's kind of my thought. [SPEAKER_07]: He's also limiting other abilities for them to put out newsletters and other things at the cost of the state. [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, Jodie is giving that signal and rolling her eyes. [SPEAKER_07]: I'm with you. [SPEAKER_07]: I agree. [SPEAKER_07]: I agree totally. [SPEAKER_07]: But here's the thing.

[SPEAKER_07]: He also, well, he started talking about the flood relief bill and he was weaponizing it. [SPEAKER_07]: I saw one of the Texas State Democrats. [SPEAKER_07]: She was on, wasn't CNN or MSNBC talking about this. [SPEAKER_07]: noted that this is the first time this week that Texas Republicans in the Texas State House have brought up. [SPEAKER_07]: The flood bill. [SPEAKER_07]: The first time that they've officially done the things and filed the documents, they need to file.

[SPEAKER_07]: Now, they can't move it from committee to the floor because they don't have quarrel. [SPEAKER_07]: Right. [SPEAKER_07]: But they can file paperwork and she can see in the systems remotely. [SPEAKER_07]: And she saw today that they have only officially filed. [SPEAKER_07]: They've been doing this special session for a week. [SPEAKER_15]: Yep. [SPEAKER_07]: And Republicans only filed the documents to look at the flood relief bill today.

[SPEAKER_15]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_15]: And how long ago were the floods again? [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: Now, I'm really looking at a month. [SPEAKER_07]: They started on July fourth. [SPEAKER_07]: So yeah, more than a month, more than a month. [SPEAKER_15]: So they should have been working on this for a good three weeks? [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, they hell yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_07]: At least three weeks. [SPEAKER_07]: At least three weeks.

[SPEAKER_07]: But you know, I mean, you got other priorities. [SPEAKER_07]: If you happen to be somebody like Greg Abbott. [SPEAKER_07]: So like for example, giving interviews where he threatens Democrats like this one here. [SPEAKER_07]: I got it on the DVR. [SPEAKER_09]: We are in the process as we speak right now of searching for preparing to arrest Democrats who may be in Texas, may be elsewhere. [SPEAKER_09]: But I'll tell you this also.

[SPEAKER_09]: Democrats act like they're not going to come back as long as this is an issue. [SPEAKER_09]: I mean, he's not going to come back until like twenty twenty seven or twenty twenty eight because I'm going to call a special session after special session after special session with the same agenda items on there. [SPEAKER_07]: You got that?

[SPEAKER_07]: He is going to beat these Democrats over the head and force them to swallow this, whether they like it or not, which is one of the reasons that we have some of the pieces that we do in the news on tap today. [SPEAKER_07]: There is a piece there from Punch Bowl News, and it talks about Republicans across the country [SPEAKER_07]: They do this. [SPEAKER_07]: They try to distract us. [SPEAKER_07]: And while while we're looking over here, they go over there. [SPEAKER_07]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_07]: Texas. [SPEAKER_07]: And look, distractions can also be substantive. [SPEAKER_07]: Distractions don't have to be BS. [SPEAKER_07]: The Texas distraction is substantive. [SPEAKER_07]: So there's actually an action there. [SPEAKER_07]: But while the media is all focused, national media is all focused on Texas. [SPEAKER_07]: Republicans are also working to get a, they want three minimum of three house seats in Florida. [SPEAKER_07]: They want five seats from Texas.

[SPEAKER_07]: They want each in Missouri and Indiana and two or three seats in Ohio. [SPEAKER_07]: And that's just to start.

[SPEAKER_15]: They're looking at at least twelve seats that they want to steal for the twenty twenty six election and they're mad that California Illinois New York New Jersey Washington station New Jersey Maryland Maryland may want to do the same because we're playing by their rules right got it they're mad about it right Republicans are whiny little bastards [SPEAKER_07]: They're whiny because it's only fair to them when they get to do to others.

[SPEAKER_07]: What they are terrified would be done to them. [SPEAKER_07]: Were it in the same circumstance? [SPEAKER_15]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_15]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_07]: Republicans, they can always blast the heat, but they can never, ever, ever take it. [SPEAKER_07]: I agree. [SPEAKER_07]: And that has, that has been the case for literally, I think probably our entire lives, but it is especially been the case under since Trump came in.

[SPEAKER_07]: Since they went mega Republicans, it is very much been the case. [SPEAKER_07]: They can push it, but they damn sure can't take it. [SPEAKER_15]: Well Joe Walsh said to Stephanie, he goes, when I was a Republican, we would laugh at the fact that Democrats didn't fight back. [SPEAKER_07]: Well, yeah, and it's not even just the fact that when Democrats fight back, they often fight fairly. [SPEAKER_07]: We fight by Queen's rules, which is horse crap. [SPEAKER_15]: I agree.

[SPEAKER_15]: And so Joe Walsh, that's why his old brethren are freaked out right now. [SPEAKER_07]: because Democrats are no longer fighting by the rule. [SPEAKER_07]: Correct rules. [SPEAKER_07]: Yes, we're fighting by the same rules. [SPEAKER_07]: We're fighting by Chicago rules. [SPEAKER_13]: We're fighting by their rules. [SPEAKER_13]: They put the rule back out. [SPEAKER_13]: They start with their rules. [SPEAKER_07]: Right. [SPEAKER_07]: And they are terrified about that.

[SPEAKER_07]: There is a great piece that I, um, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh

[SPEAKER_07]: and really it's uh... the the piece itself it is titled uh... to defeat the taxes jerry mandor democrats need to go nuclear we listed it just saying that uh... that democrats need to take lessons from the cold war and this is where these these two ideas come in counter force and counter value which one you want to go go for first value [SPEAKER_07]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_07]: Counter-value is the same thing that this douchebag Texas Republican speaker did today by withholding paychecks by holding back their ability to use their power as state senators to put out newsletters to their constituents and things. [SPEAKER_07]: Counter-value is using the full weight of your market power or your cultural influence or your legal authority to raise the stakes of the opposition.

[SPEAKER_07]: So for example, [SPEAKER_07]: Stephen Cole there is counter value for us. [SPEAKER_07]: Right. [SPEAKER_07]: Republicans try to go with Greg Gutfeld. [SPEAKER_07]: Who is it? [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: Wait. [SPEAKER_15]: Gutfeld. [SPEAKER_07]: Gutfeld. [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, who is? [SPEAKER_07]: If you haven't heard of him, don't worry. [SPEAKER_07]: Most people who are worthwhile haven't. [SPEAKER_07]: He has the right attempt at comedy only is not funny.

[SPEAKER_07]: No comedy is about punching up, not punching down. [SPEAKER_15]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_07]: And like most of the people on the right, he likes to hurt the people who are already hurting. [SPEAKER_07]: He likes to comfort the comfortable and afflict the afflicted, which is exactly the opposite of what any good journalist and he's definitely not one of those, but also any good comedian does. [SPEAKER_15]: Absolutely.

[SPEAKER_07]: So counter value is basically making it hurt more money-wise. [SPEAKER_07]: Making the cost of what they do hurt more basically. [SPEAKER_07]: Look, [SPEAKER_07]: If you're looking for a better example, here's one. [SPEAKER_07]: So BlackRock, big investment firm had somebody get shot in that mass shooting in New York at the NFL headquarters, same building. [SPEAKER_07]: So BlackRock had a great environmental social and governments program.

[SPEAKER_07]: But Texas decided to blacklist BlackRock from their state. [SPEAKER_07]: BlackRock's headquarters in New York, but they still have business in Texas. [SPEAKER_07]: By doing that, they pulled eight billion dollars in state funds out of BlackRock and rallied other red states to also pull their money from BlackRock. [SPEAKER_07]: So BlackRock abandoned their environmental, social, and governments, and also their corporate diversity, equity, and inclusion programs.

[SPEAKER_07]: That's what counter-value is. [SPEAKER_07]: It is effectively soft power. [SPEAKER_07]: counterforce is the other. [SPEAKER_07]: And we will talk about counterforce after the break because counterforce is the other big tool that Democrats need to be pushed at. [SPEAKER_07]: And we got to be pushing our Democrats at the state level and the Democrats who are in Congress to fight back against these Republicans with counterforce. [SPEAKER_07]: We'll talk about that next.

[SPEAKER_07]: Look, it is a Friday night. [SPEAKER_07]: We're trying to inform you. [SPEAKER_07]: Keep it a little calmer. [SPEAKER_07]: Realize it is hot out there. [SPEAKER_07]: So look, grab yourself a nice cool drink. [SPEAKER_07]: We'll get you in form. [SPEAKER_07]: We'll get you chill out. [SPEAKER_07]: We have some fun news and a great drink of the day as well. [SPEAKER_07]: Tell you a funny joke about Nixon too. [SPEAKER_07]: So that's all part of it.

[SPEAKER_07]: Look, Jody and I are here hanging with you, Friday night. [SPEAKER_07]: Please enjoy and look, freshen you drink up. [SPEAKER_07]: Come right back, all right? [SPEAKER_07]: All right. [SPEAKER_11]: We'll be right back after we pay some bills at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_07]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_07]: I love that, Jody. [SPEAKER_07]: See, best, best bar partner ever. [SPEAKER_07]: That is Jody Hamilton. [SPEAKER_07]: Look, you could, you could be one of our bar partners too.

[SPEAKER_07]: Check it out at the politics bar.

[SPEAKER_07]: Okay, so we were talking about the kinds of tools that Democrats have to fight back in the redistricting war. [SPEAKER_07]: And we talked about counter-value. [SPEAKER_07]: That's the soft power, you know, using your economic and cultural power to push back and make it uncomfortable. [SPEAKER_07]: And I realize for some of you, you don't always like, you don't like the phrases you like, oh, but there are blue people in Texas. [SPEAKER_07]: I get that.

[SPEAKER_07]: There are Democrats in Texas too, and we are helping them. [SPEAKER_15]: And one of them will be on the show later. [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, there you go. [SPEAKER_07]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_07]: We're going to have a need and say, and I'm telling, we will talk with her because she knows this. [SPEAKER_07]: So we'll talk with about this. [SPEAKER_07]: The other big force besides counter value is counter force.

[SPEAKER_07]: If for those of you who are old enough, you remember mutually assured destruction, Jody? [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, absolutely. [SPEAKER_07]: The of the Cold War. [SPEAKER_07]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_07]: It's very simple. [SPEAKER_07]: For those of you who don't know what or don't remember, mutually assured destruction is literally the Chicago way. [SPEAKER_07]: Like we were talking about in the movie and the untouchables. [SPEAKER_07]: They bring a knife so you bring a gun.

[SPEAKER_07]: They bring a gun so you bring a bigger gun or a bomb or an airplane. [SPEAKER_07]: The idea is, each side has enough force, and here's the thing, it's part of it is threatening, part of it is posturing. [SPEAKER_07]: I'm not gonna lie, part of reach, reach, reach, reach, reach, reach, reach, reach, reach, reach, reach, reach, reach, reach, reach, reach, reach, reach, reach, reach, reach, reach. [SPEAKER_07]: Right, that you will actually execute the threat that you are threatening.

[SPEAKER_07]: So first of all, never threaten things that you aren't willing to go through with. [SPEAKER_07]: Right. [SPEAKER_07]: Right. [SPEAKER_07]: A threat is a verbal gun. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: A threat. [SPEAKER_07]: And what do you do with guns? [SPEAKER_07]: You never point them unless you intend to use them. [SPEAKER_15]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_07]: So a threat is a verbal gun. [SPEAKER_07]: Think of it that way and you'll understand.

[SPEAKER_07]: But you do in this case, because here's the thing, Republicans pulled the gun on us first. [SPEAKER_07]: They pulled the gun on us. [SPEAKER_15]: Yes. [SPEAKER_07]: We didn't pull the gun on them. [SPEAKER_15]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_15]: We voted for non-Gerrymandering in HR-One. [SPEAKER_15]: And they all voted against it. [SPEAKER_07]: Right. [SPEAKER_07]: We've been playing by Queens rules. [SPEAKER_07]: Queensborough, we've been playing nice.

[SPEAKER_07]: You and I were talking about this, we've talked about this on and off the year all week. [SPEAKER_07]: And you were, you were, you were frustrated by earlier than you were talking about this. [SPEAKER_15]: Well, I just like y'all are man because we're playing by your rules. [SPEAKER_07]: Right. [SPEAKER_07]: We are finally, Democrats are really finally starting to play by the rules that Republicans have set up. [SPEAKER_07]: Republicans, many of them are very, very mad.

[SPEAKER_07]: How dare you play by our rules? [SPEAKER_07]: But I'm glad, look, you've got people like Hakeem Jeffrey's finally coming out and stating it as it is. [SPEAKER_07]: I got this on the DVR. [SPEAKER_07]: Hang on. [SPEAKER_00]: these extremists want to be able to choose their voters as opposed to allowing the Texas voters to choose the people who should be privileged to represent them in Washington. [SPEAKER_00]: It's that, it's what Jerry Mandarin in an extreme form is.

[SPEAKER_07]: Bingo. [SPEAKER_07]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_07]: I came Jeffries is right. [SPEAKER_15]: He is. [SPEAKER_07]: They are trying to steal the election from you before you even have the chance to vote. [SPEAKER_07]: Look, wait, Democrats have put forward some crappy candidates before. [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, Republicans have put forward. [SPEAKER_07]: There's been crappy independent candidates. [SPEAKER_07]: They're there have been working families party.

[SPEAKER_07]: There has been there have been crappy candidates of all different kinds different parties. [SPEAKER_07]: Whatever crappy candidates are crappy candidates. [SPEAKER_07]: Just sign there he go green party. [SPEAKER_07]: But look [SPEAKER_07]: You at least should have the chance to vote. [SPEAKER_07]: You should have the choice because we live in a democracy. [SPEAKER_07]: It's your idea. [SPEAKER_07]: It's your choice.

[SPEAKER_07]: And so I was talking about this a little bit earlier. [SPEAKER_07]: So counterforce, let me refresh everybody here on this counter value, the economic force, the cultural force. [SPEAKER_07]: We take away stuff from them. [SPEAKER_07]: They try to take away stuff from us and make it more painful to make the bad decisions. [SPEAKER_07]: Counter-force is the threat. [SPEAKER_07]: You want to go, let's go. [SPEAKER_07]: So here's the key that I think people need to understand.

[SPEAKER_07]: The piece that we linked from punchball news says that Republicans want to steal at least twelve seats. [SPEAKER_07]: They want us to, so Democrats, if you are in California, if you're in New York, if you're in Illinois, if you're in Washington, if you're in Maryland, [SPEAKER_07]: you need to go ahead and push through with this anyway.

[SPEAKER_15]: Amen. [SPEAKER_07]: It isn't going to be final until your legislature's vote and your governor signs it on the Dodd line and some of you maybe like California actually going to have to have the voters vote on it too. [SPEAKER_15]: Yeah, we legally hear it's going to be a referendum and it's going to be on ballot and. [SPEAKER_07]: Right. [SPEAKER_15]: And there's going to be so much money poured into the state to stop it. [SPEAKER_07]: But let's go through the voter referendum.

[SPEAKER_07]: The voters win the public wins. [SPEAKER_07]: Then it has to go to the state legislature. [SPEAKER_07]: The legislature puts it into law. [SPEAKER_07]: It is not final law until Gavin Newsom signs it with his pen. [SPEAKER_07]: And he will at any point in time Republicans could back down before that happens. [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: So if you want to play Republicans, you can play, but Democrats, you need to go ahead and go through it.

[SPEAKER_07]: That's counterforce. [SPEAKER_07]: That's what counterforce is. [SPEAKER_07]: Because if Republicans see that Democrats are serious, and that we're going to make it very hard for them to win in their states, and we're going to make it very hard for them to win in the house. [SPEAKER_07]: And we're going to be angry when we go to the polls in twenty twenty six, and if that's the case, and Democrats come out ahead, we are going to go after them the way that they went after us.

[SPEAKER_15]: Amen. [SPEAKER_15]: I'm with it. [SPEAKER_15]: I'm against during manoring, but hey, that's thems the rules right now. [SPEAKER_15]: So let's do it. [SPEAKER_06]: What was that old thing? [SPEAKER_06]: You go to war with the army you have, not the army you want. [SPEAKER_15]: Oh, wasn't that what's his face? [SPEAKER_06]: Rums fell. [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: Well, okay. [SPEAKER_07]: You guys wanted us to learn. [SPEAKER_07]: We've learned.

[SPEAKER_15]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_15]: And we're done playing by the old school rules. [SPEAKER_15]: We're ready to fight like y'all, and which is why Joe Walsh. [SPEAKER_15]: his old brethren are really upset because finally, Democrats are like, wait, what the? [SPEAKER_07]: He's not the only one. [SPEAKER_07]: You've got, you've got Kensinger out there who's always talking with Democrats. [SPEAKER_07]: You've got, for those people who hate Liz Cheney, Liz Cheney has still been talking quite.

[SPEAKER_07]: These are people who are training just like those of you who said, well, I love AOC. [SPEAKER_07]: I love Repaoc too. [SPEAKER_07]: I think she's great, but you know what? [SPEAKER_07]: A lot of you don't realize that Repaoc at her team spent a lot of time with Nancy Pelosi and her team. [SPEAKER_07]: They learned they learned the wisdom that Nancy Pelosi had and that is making rep AOC a better member of Congress and a better leader. [SPEAKER_15]: Absolutely.

[SPEAKER_15]: She knows she she went to the right lady to get some information. [SPEAKER_07]: Look, Andrea Casio Cortez is absolutely by any sense of the imagination. [SPEAKER_07]: She is not stupid in any sense of imagination. [SPEAKER_15]: She is wicked smart. [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, exactly. [SPEAKER_07]: And she went and she's been learning. [SPEAKER_07]: She's been gaining wisdom from experience of other people.

[SPEAKER_07]: That's what people like Joe Walls are bringing to the Democratic Party today is the experience that they have from learning how to fight because they used to fight his Republicans on the other side. [SPEAKER_07]: There is, however, something that a lot of Democrats don't understand and sometimes forget. [SPEAKER_07]: We got to push through both with counterforce and with counter value.

[SPEAKER_07]: But there is this [SPEAKER_07]: So little, little something for some of the people who think sometimes that I'm really smart and I have all of this logical, that I have a very logical brain. [SPEAKER_07]: I came by it naturally. [SPEAKER_07]: Have you ever heard of Charles Sanders Pierce, Jodie? [SPEAKER_15]: No. [SPEAKER_07]: C.S. [SPEAKER_07]: Pierce, founder of what's called semiotics, modern American logical thought.

[SPEAKER_07]: Some of the types of mathematics that he used are still used in high-end science today, extremely like a hundred, two hundred years ahead of his time, way out there. [SPEAKER_07]: And I am related to him. [SPEAKER_07]: So that's kind of fun. [SPEAKER_15]: So he spells his name not like Charlie Pierce, but like yours. [SPEAKER_15]: Oh, yours. [SPEAKER_15]: Okay. [SPEAKER_07]: because we are in the same genetic tree. [SPEAKER_07]: Yes, we are so.

[SPEAKER_07]: And look, I am all for genetics. [SPEAKER_07]: I am all for feed people your environment as well. [SPEAKER_07]: Some people are more one. [SPEAKER_07]: Some people are the other. [SPEAKER_07]: Nobody is the same, but I have noticed in my family a long trend where we're logical to point at being stupid sometimes. [SPEAKER_07]: Okay. [SPEAKER_07]: Sometimes you're like, but this is how it should be.

[SPEAKER_07]: And then you have to have somebody remind you that that's not how it is like with Democrats. [SPEAKER_07]: One of the things that you learn when you learn mathematical logic is you learn things about probability and you're learning things about fighting. [SPEAKER_07]: There's a concept in probability and logic known as forebox. [SPEAKER_07]: So when it's a binary choice, you win or I win. [SPEAKER_07]: There are four options that could come out.

[SPEAKER_07]: Now, either you could win Jody or I could lose, I could win or you could lose. [SPEAKER_07]: We could both win or we could both lose. [SPEAKER_07]: Okay. [SPEAKER_07]: Four options. [SPEAKER_07]: Right. [SPEAKER_07]: The only option that Republicans are going to accept as a win. [SPEAKER_07]: The only option that Maga Republicans are going to accept as a win is if they win and we lose.

[SPEAKER_07]: The other three options, if we win and they lose, if we win and they win, if we lose and they lose, we pick up all the other three boxes. [SPEAKER_07]: So long as we push forward on counter-force and counter-value, so long as we stand and fight, [SPEAKER_07]: Democrats have a seventy five percent chance in this binary of winning.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: We have the numbers in our favor so long as we stand up and fight and for so long so many Democrats have said well the polls says this and the polls says that screw the polls and and if you want to do the polls look here again was talking earlier today generic polls.

[SPEAKER_07]: The generic ballot for the twenty twenty six midterm in six months since Trump has been in has moved an average of three to five points in Democrats favor as it should because people are paying attention finally. [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: So I'm going you want to worry about polls worry about polls that's fine, but if you want to look at just the basics of a contest like the contest about all of these seats that's going on the redistricting wars.

[SPEAKER_07]: so long as we stand in fight and so long as we understand that the only way that we really truly lose is if we lose and they win. [SPEAKER_07]: If we decide to fight with everything we've got on every front [SPEAKER_07]: Okay, if they decide, you know what, we're gonna give up on that and we're gonna go with redistricting along, you know, fair, fair redistricting for everything.

[SPEAKER_07]: If it's fair redistricting, Republicans and Democratic, Democratic voters and Republican voters and independent voters all win. [SPEAKER_13]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_07]: That's the win win. [SPEAKER_07]: If it's a loss loss, it's, we all end up fighting so much. [SPEAKER_07]: It becomes a hot war. [SPEAKER_07]: We go into a real civil war and everything goes to hell. [SPEAKER_07]: That's a loss loss. [SPEAKER_07]: Everybody loses.

[SPEAKER_07]: I don't like that anymore than anybody else does here in the bar. [SPEAKER_03]: Hi, Greg. [SPEAKER_07]: So that's a loss lost. [SPEAKER_07]: If it's a win loss, it's a, we decide to go ahead. [SPEAKER_07]: Republicans try to go ahead, but we end up having more seats, better candidates, better campaigns. [SPEAKER_07]: And we end up taking control of the house and maybe the Senate in twenty twenty six. [SPEAKER_07]: That's we win and they lose.

[SPEAKER_07]: Those are the three options. [SPEAKER_07]: And you add all of those potential opportunities up. [SPEAKER_07]: We still win in all of these things. [SPEAKER_07]: because the only way that we lose is it. [SPEAKER_15]: Sorry. [SPEAKER_07]: I love you too, Carol. [SPEAKER_15]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_15]: Sorry. [SPEAKER_07]: It's okay. [SPEAKER_07]: The only way that we lose is if they win and we lose and the only way that that happens is if we give up.

[SPEAKER_07]: So I, as you can tell I'm very passionate about this because it brings together both the emotion and the numbers, the logic and the heart. [SPEAKER_07]: And I think that Democrats need to understand. [SPEAKER_07]: Stop being afraid. [SPEAKER_07]: Stop being afraid. [SPEAKER_07]: Yes, this is not the world that I was promised. [SPEAKER_07]: This is not the world you were promised. [SPEAKER_07]: No. [SPEAKER_07]: But this is the world that we've got.

[SPEAKER_07]: And if we want to make things better for the future, for the kids who are out there now, for people who are living another thirty, forty, fifty years, then we got to stand and fight. [SPEAKER_07]: It's all there's to it. [SPEAKER_15]: I agree. [SPEAKER_15]: That was a nice little preach there. [SPEAKER_07]: Sorry, I'm very passionate about this. [SPEAKER_07]: And I know that we can win. [SPEAKER_07]: We have better policies. [SPEAKER_07]: We have better ideas.

[SPEAKER_07]: We have better people. [SPEAKER_07]: So I just, it's, it's. [SPEAKER_15]: I mean, Donald has run on Bernie's ideas. [SPEAKER_07]: Yes, Donald has run on Bernie's ideas. [SPEAKER_07]: He's run on bastardizations of Warren's ideas. [SPEAKER_15]: And we all believe that he's going to do it and so far. [SPEAKER_07]: Oh God, yeah. [SPEAKER_15]: They believed it the first time he didn't do it the first time and I don't know why anybody would have voted for him for three times.

[SPEAKER_15]: Let alone just twice. [SPEAKER_07]: Right. [SPEAKER_07]: And look, this is how stupid he is. [SPEAKER_07]: So he's still feeling over the weak jobs report from July. [SPEAKER_07]: He brought over his sick offense, Stephen Moore from the, um, God, I can't remember where it was heritage. [SPEAKER_07]: Yes, to give it oval office presentation yesterday of fake economic numbers. [SPEAKER_07]: All these goofy ass charts. [SPEAKER_07]: We got a video.

[SPEAKER_07]: You can see we've got an article, too, and the news on tap. [SPEAKER_07]: Check this out, Johnny. [SPEAKER_07]: This, this is hilarious. [SPEAKER_07]: Um, one of Moore's charts cited medium income, not median. [SPEAKER_07]: What?

[SPEAKER_07]: one of the charts you can you can look actually i think uh... it's a graphic uh... yes actually if you zoom in very very very close in the graphic you can actually see it better in the video that's in the news on tap today [SPEAKER_07]: One of Mr. Moore's graphics used medium. [SPEAKER_07]: Now, median is a statistical term that actual economists use. [SPEAKER_07]: Right. [SPEAKER_07]: Medium is kind of a judgment of your stake.

[SPEAKER_15]: Medium is... Or somebody can see something in the future, a medium? [SPEAKER_07]: Right. [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: I mean, this was in the Oval Office. [SPEAKER_07]: A guy who's supposed to be giving advice to the president, supposed to be a big economist, and yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: And he's mad because we're saying, well, you're number suck and your economy sucks, Donnie. [SPEAKER_07]: And so we'll go by the way, do you suck, Donnie?

[SPEAKER_07]: So [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: Look, we've got more news on tap. [SPEAKER_07]: We've got some really good stuff. [SPEAKER_07]: We've got a drink of the day that's a very nice drink as well. [SPEAKER_07]: All of that coming up plus. [SPEAKER_07]: We've got Karen and Anita from True Blue Politics. [SPEAKER_07]: It's Friday night. [SPEAKER_07]: We'll get a little bit lighter. [SPEAKER_07]: I realize it's Friday. [SPEAKER_07]: Your hot. [SPEAKER_07]: You want a thirsty drink.

[SPEAKER_07]: Whatever. [SPEAKER_07]: We'll get you taken care of. [SPEAKER_07]: Go freshen up your drink. [SPEAKER_07]: Come back. [SPEAKER_07]: Just here at the politics park. [SPEAKER_07]: Give me a couple minutes. [SPEAKER_07]: We got to pay some bills. [SPEAKER_11]: We'll be right back after we pay some bills at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_07]: or you can subscribe at the politicsbar.com. [SPEAKER_07]: Six dollars a month.

[SPEAKER_07]: That is the lowest coverage charge of any bar in the country. [SPEAKER_07]: And it gets you fantastic things like, you know, for example, the news on tap or the drink of the day or the podcast ad free. [SPEAKER_07]: The place you want to subscribe is clearly politicsbar.com. [SPEAKER_07]: All right, Tony. [SPEAKER_07]: Thank you, Mike. [SPEAKER_07]: Mike, my preaching is a little bit done now. [SPEAKER_15]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_15]: Hi. [SPEAKER_15]: So boxes are great.

[SPEAKER_07]: And look, I feel very passionate about it because I know that we are right. [SPEAKER_07]: Look, I'm wearing my, one of my cat advocacy elishers today. [SPEAKER_07]: You know, what if we didn't suck? [SPEAKER_07]: And that applies not just to the Democratic Party and applies to our government because our government right now is not as good as it could be. [SPEAKER_07]: We need, we need to have a better democracy.

[SPEAKER_07]: We need to have one that is more representative that it works better. [SPEAKER_07]: And we don't. [SPEAKER_07]: True. [SPEAKER_07]: we need to make it better. [SPEAKER_07]: So, you know, what if we didn't suck? [SPEAKER_07]: Well, I think we can not suck. [SPEAKER_07]: I think we have the ability to not suck. [SPEAKER_07]: I believe in us. [SPEAKER_07]: I believe in you and me and everybody here in the bar and most of the people in this country. [SPEAKER_07]: I believe in us.

[SPEAKER_07]: So that's kind of why I'm so passionate. [SPEAKER_07]: You know, duh. [SPEAKER_07]: After all that, I am thirsty. [SPEAKER_07]: What have we got for the drink of the day today? [SPEAKER_15]: All right. [SPEAKER_15]: So it is in commemoration of when Nixon resigned.

[SPEAKER_15]: Okay, I think it was that today or tomorrow tomorrow in nineteen seventy four and I'm so as telling you during the people that pay for the show part of the show that my parents made me and my sisters watch him resign I was seven my little sister was five and my big sister was ten almost ten [SPEAKER_15]: No, she was ten. [SPEAKER_15]: It's seventy four. [SPEAKER_15]: She was ten. [SPEAKER_15]: And so we were outside playing, you know, it's summer. [SPEAKER_15]: Right.

[SPEAKER_15]: No school and they're like, no, you guys got to come in. [SPEAKER_15]: The president is resigning and you have to watch this. [SPEAKER_15]: And I remember the blue curtain behind him. [SPEAKER_15]: vividly. [SPEAKER_15]: I don't recall what he said because I was like, I'm seven, you know. [SPEAKER_15]: But I'm glad they did make us do that.

[SPEAKER_15]: I don't know if my little sister remembers it at all because she was much younger than not much, but you know, five years old is different than seven than it's different than ten. [SPEAKER_15]: So, but I mean, you remember what you remember. [SPEAKER_15]: But I remember we were really upset that they grabbed us in two.

[SPEAKER_07]: I'm glad I'm glad your parents did these are good parents should do you know have have them because These are civic moments these are moments that I think not enough parents did over the last twenty five thirty years and is part of the reason that we have the messed up government that we do [SPEAKER_15]: part of it, for sure. [SPEAKER_15]: I know I'm glad that they made us come out from having a really good time outside.

[SPEAKER_15]: She watched this guy we didn't even know who he was. [SPEAKER_15]: I mean, you know, but it was history and important history to watch. [SPEAKER_15]: And so I'm very, I did watch the moon landing. [SPEAKER_15]: I do not recall that because I was a year and a half old. [SPEAKER_15]: But I was forced to watch that and I was there's a great photograph of my mom and my sister Carrie and me watching it. [SPEAKER_15]: My dad.

[SPEAKER_15]: Okay, my mom's looking at my dad and Carrie and I are just watching the TV. [SPEAKER_15]: So we were definitely enthralled with that. [SPEAKER_07]: Well, I mean, that's, you know, if any of you have seen the footage or if you guys, you know, here in the bar and elsewhere are, if you remember, yeah, I mean, it was a big damn deal. [SPEAKER_07]: It's not like a trip next door. [SPEAKER_15]: No, it was some in the fact that they landed safely. [SPEAKER_15]: It was a big deal.

[SPEAKER_15]: It was a great photograph of my sister and my mom and me. [SPEAKER_15]: But anyway, so this drink commemorates that day when he resigned. [SPEAKER_07]: The name of today's drink is the Nixon. [SPEAKER_07]: Okay. [SPEAKER_07]: So I'm just, I'm just wondering, is it a crook of a drink or? [SPEAKER_07]: Or is it maybe because look, there are people who forget. [SPEAKER_07]: He did some good things.

[SPEAKER_07]: The establishment of the EPA, OSHA, opening of relations with China, there were some good things that happened. [SPEAKER_07]: So unlike the current Trump regime, there were actually some good things. [SPEAKER_15]: In fact, they're getting rid of the EPA under the new one. [SPEAKER_07]: or at least trying to. [SPEAKER_07]: But while we can still trust the drinks in the alcohol, what is in a Nixon? [SPEAKER_15]: Okay, you need an old fashioned glass or a rocks glass.

[SPEAKER_15]: It really depends on, you know, sure fact. [SPEAKER_15]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_15]: Um, one and a half ounces of bourbon whiskey. [SPEAKER_05]: Okay, good bourbon. [SPEAKER_15]: Pacific. [SPEAKER_15]: Uh, one and a half ounces of slow gin. [SPEAKER_15]: Two dashes of peach bitters. [SPEAKER_05]: Okay, so it's got a little bit of a lighter, lighter bittersweet. [SPEAKER_15]: Oh, I'm very feeling. [SPEAKER_07]: You also watch that last Friday show this all I'm saying.

[SPEAKER_15]: Um, and an orange zest for garnish. [SPEAKER_15]: So what you do is you're prepared the garnish for your stop, obviously, so that that's ready. [SPEAKER_15]: And then you stir all the ingredients in a shaker, whatever you need with ice and the strain it into the ice fill glass, you can either use one giant chunk of ice if you just like the big big large cubes or just one giant cube because you need them larger and then and resigned to enjoy it.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yes, we're resigned to enjoy this, different meaning of resign, Mr. Nixon. [SPEAKER_07]: Look, if you missed any part of the drink contact or any of the drinks of the day or the news on tap or any of it, look the best place to go, subscribe the politicsbar.com. [SPEAKER_07]: He's out.

[SPEAKER_07]: Jody and I are a little bit tired and thirsty a little bit just because I mean it's it's a long week when you go through all of this type of stuff and then when you see crap like this so continue with the economy stuff continuing claims for unemployment insurance jumped up to nearly two million. [SPEAKER_07]: It's the highest level since the pandemic era.

[SPEAKER_07]: I always weigh the way I try to couch it as unemployment insurance, because I know in a lot of the media you will see that they'll see unemployment benefits. [SPEAKER_07]: And that gives people the idea that it's new to benefit that you're getting. [SPEAKER_07]: No, we pay for it. [SPEAKER_07]: It's insurance. [SPEAKER_07]: It's an insurance claim. [SPEAKER_07]: That's what unemployment insurance is.

[SPEAKER_07]: So yeah, it's highest since the pandemic, or also by the way, the last time that things were this bad during the pandemic, or it was also Trump's fault. [SPEAKER_07]: So just a reminder, if the economy sucks, if you're noticing it's sucking, you know who to blame, and it ain't the Democrats on that one.

[SPEAKER_07]: uh... something else that was surprising and frustrating and infuriating today so uh... the trump d o j has launched a retaliatory investigation into uh... new york a j's office lititia james she's the one that brought the legitimate fraud case against trump that the one that he was convicted of what is forty three times i believe thirty forty three thirty four [SPEAKER_07]: Thirty-four individual counts as thank you.

[SPEAKER_07]: I got my numbers confused there, but the thirty-four individual counts of fraud that she convicted his ass on because he was guilty. [SPEAKER_07]: Found that way by twelve fellow citizens. [SPEAKER_07]: Just as a reminder. [SPEAKER_07]: And now he is going after her. [SPEAKER_07]: He's also going after Adam Schiff. [SPEAKER_07]: It's a total weaponization of the DOJ. [SPEAKER_07]: They don't know what justice is under Trump.

[SPEAKER_07]: They are weaponizing it and it's frustrating. [SPEAKER_07]: It's frustrating. [SPEAKER_07]: They're two different versions of that. [SPEAKER_07]: You can see the story there at the news on Tap today. [SPEAKER_07]: They also have other bad things they're doing. [SPEAKER_07]: A couple of pieces we even get even get in today. [SPEAKER_07]: People that they fired. [SPEAKER_07]: They've been firing all kinds of people like from the FBI.

[SPEAKER_07]: Remember the guy that got what the hell was his name? [SPEAKER_07]: I'm trying to think of his name because he was the one that he was the the temporary FBI guy. [SPEAKER_15]: Right, right, right, right. [SPEAKER_15]: Please, your call is very important. [SPEAKER_15]: here signing it hold on all find it it's okay no no it's I'm sorry because it's just one of those things [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, I know. [SPEAKER_07]: I know what it was.

[SPEAKER_07]: He was the former acting director of the FBI. [SPEAKER_07]: And he was, and he was picked by Trump on this name. [SPEAKER_07]: Brian, something or other? [SPEAKER_07]: Wasn't big balls. [SPEAKER_07]: He had a nickname. [SPEAKER_07]: But yeah, him, there was a guy who was overseeing a response to January six. [SPEAKER_07]: They keep firing all these different people.

[SPEAKER_07]: And then there was a former January six defendant, a guy who they have on tape yelling to kill the cops. [SPEAKER_07]: That guy now works at the DOJ. [SPEAKER_15]: Yeah, and the only reason he wasn't prosecuted was because Donald stopped it. [SPEAKER_07]: Right, because Trump came in and said, Oh, we don't need it. [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, it's it's ridiculous. [SPEAKER_15]: This is a guy who wanted cops to be here yelled at people to kill them. [SPEAKER_15]: It's on tape.

[SPEAKER_07]: Right, supposedly they back the blue on their side. [SPEAKER_07]: I don't exactly know how that's possible. [SPEAKER_07]: So Trump signed another executive order giving political appointees complete oversight over all federal grants, which is complete garbage because federal grants are supposed to be based on whatever the terms of the grant is. [SPEAKER_07]: The energy secretary is a former fossil fuel executive.

[SPEAKER_07]: Now they are altering previously established previously published climate reports. [SPEAKER_07]: Thankfully, there are some great people who great climate journalists. [SPEAKER_07]: If you guys haven't subscribed to Heated, that is a great sub-stack. [SPEAKER_07]: Emily Atkins is over there and she does some great work. [SPEAKER_07]: But there are people like her who have copies of these previous climate reports.

[SPEAKER_07]: So they've been published [SPEAKER_07]: The Trump regime will try to put out new figures, but we actually have the correct figures. [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, and there's there's something else. [SPEAKER_07]: Two, two things with the VA. [SPEAKER_07]: The VA Trump's Veterans Department to Veterans Affairs Department is in an collective bargaining with most unions. [SPEAKER_06]: Including nurses. [SPEAKER_06]: Mm-hmm.

[SPEAKER_07]: Which they can't do, by the way, because that's what the contract says. [SPEAKER_07]: You have to wait until the contract comes up and then say you can't just cut the contract. [SPEAKER_07]: And the other thing is the Trump directed Air Force has now rescinded early retirement approvals for transgender service members that are being kicked out by the Trump Hexeth anti-trans policies.

[SPEAKER_07]: These are people who, they were, they were promised that Trump said, you know, Trump and Hexeth said, we want to get you out. [SPEAKER_07]: We don't want any trans people in our military anymore. [SPEAKER_07]: And he said, OK, well, how do I go about getting out? [SPEAKER_07]: And they said, well, if you have fifteen to nineteen years service, [SPEAKER_07]: We're going to let you guys, we're going to make an exception and say that we'll allow you to retire early.

[SPEAKER_07]: And these people are like, OK, fine. [SPEAKER_07]: That's how you want to do it. [SPEAKER_07]: Then that's how we'll do it. [SPEAKER_07]: And right before many of these people actually begin to retire, they've yanked the rug out from under them and said, no, sorry. [SPEAKER_07]: And we're lying. [SPEAKER_07]: We lied.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: These are people who have served honorably in the US military in one of the branches of the US military for at least fifteen years men and women. [SPEAKER_07]: Mm-hmm. [SPEAKER_07]: Yep. [SPEAKER_15]: I'm sure Charlotte Climer has a lot to say about that. [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, God. [SPEAKER_07]: We should get her in the bar. [SPEAKER_07]: That would be great. [SPEAKER_15]: She's my can. [SPEAKER_15]: She's amazing.

[SPEAKER_15]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: I just, you know, it's one of those things where you sit there and you're like, come on folks. [SPEAKER_07]: People is people and I am as as you know, I'm an advocate about that and I and also being a veteran. [SPEAKER_07]: I'm like, look, your, your country promises you things. [SPEAKER_15]: No, my friend Bridgett, she was in the air force.

[SPEAKER_07]: You know, it's just, look, when your country promises you things as a veteran, we had the problem with this and Vietnam for those of you who remember. [SPEAKER_07]: It's one of the things that we thought with the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan with the folks coming back is it is not the fault of the people who have served our country. [SPEAKER_07]: Whatever the stupid ass politics is, they should not be affected by it.

[SPEAKER_07]: They have [SPEAKER_07]: done their jobs honorably and well, if we have promised them benefits, then we need to follow through. [SPEAKER_15]: Amen. [SPEAKER_07]: It's just what we got to do. [SPEAKER_15]: So exactly. [SPEAKER_07]: Sorry. [SPEAKER_07]: I know I'm honored off the soapbox today, but I'm like, come on, this is important guys, but look, we're going to have a little bit more fun hour, too. [SPEAKER_07]: We've got some good entertainment news as well.

[SPEAKER_07]: We happen to have Karen Anita coming in and Anita will be able to tell us a little bit more about what's actually going on in Texas with these redistricting wars. [SPEAKER_07]: We do have more news on tap to get you on the way. [SPEAKER_07]: And for those of you who missed the drink of the day, we may just give you a quick briefing on that again because it is a good drink. [SPEAKER_07]: And quite frankly, it's Friday and man after after ridiculous is the politics today.

[SPEAKER_07]: We definitely need it that drink the day. [SPEAKER_07]: That's for damn sure. [SPEAKER_15]: Especially if you like your bourbon. [SPEAKER_07]: And I do like bourbon. [SPEAKER_07]: All right, look, go, do what you gotta do. [SPEAKER_07]: You know where the facilities are, down the hall to the left or to the right, whatever, just remember. [SPEAKER_07]: We aim to please hear the politics bar, just UM-II, please.

[SPEAKER_07]: Somebody's got to clean things up afterwards and, well, look, just be nice to us, all right? [SPEAKER_07]: All right, look, go, do that, come back, get your drink refreshed, and we will talk about a little bit more and have Karen and Anita from True Blue Politics in the bar Friday night at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_07]: Thank you very much for being here with us. [SPEAKER_07]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_11]: We'll be right back after we pay some bills of the politics bar.

[SPEAKER_07]: Woohoo! [SPEAKER_07]: Y'all know how this goes. [SPEAKER_07]: Choting is right. [SPEAKER_07]: It is Friday night here at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_07]: We are very, very glad that you are joining us from wherever you happen to be coming into the bar from whether that happens to be the Detroit talk radio in the dry city area of Tennessee, or maybe you're listening on America one radio in Atlanta. [SPEAKER_07]: Thank you very much, Atlanta.

[SPEAKER_07]: I am nine, fifty Minneapolis, Saint Paul. [SPEAKER_07]: Thank you very much for staying up with us. [SPEAKER_07]: WCPTA, M-H-H-H-Chicago, [SPEAKER_07]: aggressive voices radio worldwide wherever you happen to be or if you are one of those a wonderful future people who are listening on the podcast. [SPEAKER_07]: Thank you very much for subscribing to the podcast in any of your favorite podcast players or subscribing at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_07]: Thank you very much.

[SPEAKER_07]: Thank you very much. [SPEAKER_07]: I mean, I mean, you know, it's it's it's we were working our asses off and so I'm I'm ready for a little bit more fun. [SPEAKER_07]: Um, I do think that I want to go and try and see the the freakier Friday movie this this weekend. [SPEAKER_07]: All right. [SPEAKER_07]: Well, look, I mean, you know, it's it's some people that it's it's a family comedy and some people are hanging on PGPG thirteen, whatever it is.

[SPEAKER_07]: And I'm like, but [SPEAKER_07]: I have been a A. I guess you could say, it's not exactly like a fan of Lindsey Lawrence. [SPEAKER_07]: I don't, you know, whatever, but I've been rooting for her as a person. [SPEAKER_07]: I guess an actress and as a person for a long time. [SPEAKER_07]: Now, she had some difficulties in different parts, but I always thought if she got her stuff straight, that she would be able to really get out there and do some fun things.

[SPEAKER_07]: And clearly, it seems like from the reviews that are coming in, that this movie Freaky Your Friday is [SPEAKER_07]: pretty good that it's, you know, if you liked freaky Friday with Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis, you will probably like freaky your Friday. [SPEAKER_15]: At least in a name it freaky Friday too. [SPEAKER_07]: Right. [SPEAKER_07]: That yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: That's what I've been.

[SPEAKER_07]: I wish people would say somebody had so many balloons just here in the bar that was just kind of one of those weird things. [SPEAKER_07]: You can bring them in. [SPEAKER_07]: I suppose just do not wave them in Jody's face. [SPEAKER_07]: No. [SPEAKER_07]: Okay. [SPEAKER_07]: Okay. [SPEAKER_07]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_07]: That was weird. [SPEAKER_07]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_15]: No, but I mean, thank God they didn't number it. [SPEAKER_15]: That's my only.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, because that seems like somebody's like, you know, oh, you know, sequel, sequel, sequel, whatever.

[SPEAKER_07]: um uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, sounds like sounds like I guess he'd been fighting it quietly for like four years or something. [SPEAKER_07]: So just really really. [SPEAKER_07]: Um, uh, Christy, no, got mad at the South Park people for the episode this week for mocking her looks. [SPEAKER_07]: She slammed them as lazy and petty and remember what what did you say earlier? [SPEAKER_07]: What did what did they say that that South Park was not consequential? [SPEAKER_15]: something like that.

[SPEAKER_15]: They're not relevant, consequential, important, whatever. [SPEAKER_07]: Yes. [SPEAKER_07]: Yes. [SPEAKER_07]: And then they, and then they decide to respond to that. [SPEAKER_07]: So yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: Big Kudos to American Penn Shelton. [SPEAKER_07]: One of our great African American male tennis players won the Toronto Open First American win their since two thousand three. [SPEAKER_07]: Nice. [SPEAKER_07]: Nice. [SPEAKER_07]: Phoenix Mercury.

[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know if if you know, I've mentioned I like WNBA some stuff. [SPEAKER_07]: I mean obviously, you know, preseason NFL is coming. [SPEAKER_07]: They're still majorly baseball on but WNBA is still going on. [SPEAKER_07]: Phoenix Mercury's a list of Thomas made WNBA history had her third straight triple double. [SPEAKER_07]: This is some, you know, right. [SPEAKER_07]: Let us have some that goes on.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, third straight game in a row that you had a triple double, which is great. [SPEAKER_07]: If you don't know what it is, you can click on the story. [SPEAKER_07]: It's in the entertainment section. [SPEAKER_07]: It's a news on tap. [SPEAKER_07]: Now, [SPEAKER_07]: I respect women. [SPEAKER_07]: You know this, I respect you. [SPEAKER_07]: I respect the WMBA. [SPEAKER_07]: But clearly, there is a crypto company that does not respect the WMBA or women.

[SPEAKER_07]: They're calling it a joke. [SPEAKER_07]: There is this literally and figuratively dickish action that they are doing. [SPEAKER_07]: Um, that they are throwing dildos, green dildos on the court at W NBA games, which that's just. [SPEAKER_07]: And, and they're saying, we respect, we're, yeah, they're going, we're, we're not doing it for that. [SPEAKER_07]: We're doing it for a protest for some crypto related thing that only the people in their circle of people would understand.

[SPEAKER_15]: Then do it at every game, not just at their games. [SPEAKER_07]: Well, they're doing it. [SPEAKER_07]: It adds they're trying to do it in a lot of games, but they've already had a two or maybe three people arrested for trying to do this. [SPEAKER_15]: Well, I mean, are they doing it NBA or just WNBA? [SPEAKER_07]: And just WNBA. [SPEAKER_07]: Well, because right now, of course, the NBA is not on right now. [SPEAKER_07]: Convenient that they, right?

[SPEAKER_07]: And there is, um, I think there was the NBA Summer League, and I think they're done without already too, so they can't, they couldn't conveniently go to those. [SPEAKER_07]: But I just looking to go, it is to me, it is, it's quite obvious as to what they're doing. [SPEAKER_07]: Of course. [SPEAKER_07]: But it also is they don't think about it in the sense of basketball players athletes in general can move very fast.

[SPEAKER_07]: You throw something like that on a court and a player's steps on it and rolls their ankle or rolls and trips and falls and smashes their head gets a major concussion.

[SPEAKER_07]: You could damage them enough that it ends their career and if you're the one that does that not only is the team going to go after you the player could go after you and pretty much probably every time and penny that you earn or have potential earning for the rest of your natural life will go into their accounts in the accounts of their lawyers as it should. [SPEAKER_07]: Mm-hmm. [SPEAKER_07]: So people don't think about that.

[SPEAKER_07]: They think people are, I want to rush the courts. [SPEAKER_07]: They do them college, too. [SPEAKER_07]: They, and it's like, guys, I get it. [SPEAKER_07]: There are emotional times, but you've got to respect the players. [SPEAKER_07]: Just think of your respect. [SPEAKER_07]: If somebody's doing a shoot in your neighborhood, somebody's doing a movie shoot or a TV shoot in your neighborhood, you don't just ride through on your bike.

[SPEAKER_15]: No. [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, there's a level of respect, and it's not just because you've been in the industry, it's just a level of respect of, you don't do that. [SPEAKER_15]: No, that's just rude. [SPEAKER_07]: You're working at an office, you're working at a Walmart or Target, whatever, and or calls, whatever. [SPEAKER_07]: Somebody decides to write a bike through the store. [SPEAKER_07]: They got doors on both sides. [SPEAKER_07]: Some of them do. [SPEAKER_07]: You don't do that.

[SPEAKER_07]: No. [SPEAKER_07]: You're going to hurt somebody. [SPEAKER_07]: You can hurt yourself. [SPEAKER_07]: You know, it's just it's a level of respect folks. [SPEAKER_07]: Come on. [SPEAKER_07]: Give me a break. [SPEAKER_07]: So anyway, so some of those stories are in the news on tap today at the politicsbar.com. [SPEAKER_07]: Looks like Donald Trump may be meeting with his boss next week, Putin is saying that they need to have a meeting, but they want to cut out Ukraine.

[SPEAKER_07]: And not only that, according to the story that we got, it's from Bloomberg through Yahoo. [SPEAKER_07]: You can check it out. [SPEAKER_07]: Trump and Putin are reportedly now planning a true steal to cement Putin's gains in Ukraine. [SPEAKER_07]: Last time I checked Ukraine is one of the parties to the Ukraine rush a war in my room. [SPEAKER_15]: I think yeah, it's yeah Russia invaded Ukraine. [SPEAKER_15]: There shouldn't be a be there.

[SPEAKER_07]: Right, so if there's going to be a peace deal aren't they going to need to actually get the acquiescence of Ukraine? [SPEAKER_15]: You would think. [SPEAKER_15]: Yeah, unless Putin does the right thing and just stops bombing them and stops invading them. [SPEAKER_07]: I saw a chart, I can't remember where I saw it that says that Putin has doubled the amount of attacks since Donald Trump came in.

[SPEAKER_07]: Literally like the, the couple days before Trump came in, they started increasing the attacks boom, went up. [SPEAKER_07]: So I am, I am not surprised at all that there are more attacks that way. [SPEAKER_07]: Just absolutely ridiculous. [SPEAKER_07]: Hey, hey, it looks like a Nina is here, which is very cool. [SPEAKER_07]: Well, I need it is already here at the bar with our lady. [SPEAKER_12]: Hello, lady. [SPEAKER_12]: We are still in this episode of this hour.

[SPEAKER_07]: How are you doing today, girl? [SPEAKER_12]: I'm doing okay. [SPEAKER_07]: It's far today and it is extremely hot in about two thirds of the country and I believe you are in one of those parts of the country where it's very hot. [SPEAKER_07]: Hey, here comes Karen. [SPEAKER_07]: I'm behind you. [SPEAKER_07]: How are you doing? [SPEAKER_07]: Okay. [SPEAKER_07]: How are you? [SPEAKER_07]: Can you hear me? [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_12]: Oh yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: Uh-huh. [SPEAKER_07]: Hot Chicago hot and Texas hot and certain areas of California. [SPEAKER_07]: I am the only one who is sitting in a nice cool area in Washington, D.C. [SPEAKER_07]: and you guys are sending me the heat. [SPEAKER_07]: So. [SPEAKER_15]: Oh, it'll be there. [SPEAKER_15]: All right. [SPEAKER_15]: Enjoy when it gets there. [SPEAKER_12]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_12]: Where are you going? [SPEAKER_12]: So, you know, stop complaining. [SPEAKER_12]: It's always hot air.

[SPEAKER_07]: Well, also, I mean, you know, you got to admit, Karen brings the heat and need to brings the heat. [SPEAKER_07]: Jody brings the heat. [SPEAKER_07]: I'm just the guy, you know. [SPEAKER_12]: Okay, guys, some from heat. [SPEAKER_07]: Hey, although Karen brought some heat we've heard today, who's in the background with the bar with you to brought today? [SPEAKER_14]: So so over here is in the I guess the left in the shot. [SPEAKER_14]: There's an LP LBJ.

[SPEAKER_14]: He's peaking and then there's Anne Richards and then these are some of the Democrats that have come to Illinois. [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_12]: That includes the LBJ because he's my favorite president. [SPEAKER_12]: Yes. [SPEAKER_07]: He's very good. [SPEAKER_07]: He was a good president. [SPEAKER_12]: I believe it's a very good president. [SPEAKER_12]: He's underrated and he was handsy and he's handsy. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay. [SPEAKER_12]: He was a little handsy, but he had times.

[SPEAKER_02]: He didn't make it. [SPEAKER_12]: He didn't make it. [SPEAKER_12]: He didn't make it. [SPEAKER_12]: Stephanie knows, but. [SPEAKER_12]: Yes, I was handed to. [SPEAKER_12]: JfK was pretty fancy from what I hear too. [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, Marilyn can attest to that and a lot of other women but it is it is a different era and you know and quite frankly I would love to see a woman I would love to see Kamala back and we're next next round, but [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, not look.

[SPEAKER_12]: It's. [SPEAKER_12]: That's not going to happen for a while. [SPEAKER_12]: Well, I just don't see it. [SPEAKER_07]: We got to get through what we've got here first. [SPEAKER_07]: Right. [SPEAKER_07]: And we were we've been talking about these redistricting wars and you being in Texas. [SPEAKER_07]: So how's how's the environment there on the talking outside? [SPEAKER_12]: Okay, let me let me just say the people are actually aware of what's going on here.

[SPEAKER_12]: I mean, people that normally aren't aware of it. [SPEAKER_12]: My husband, I was telling Karen about my husband had a bunch of his good old boy buddies here. [SPEAKER_12]: It was about like five or six of them. [SPEAKER_12]: And these guys don't pay attention to politics. [SPEAKER_12]: But we brought up the walkout that the tech Democrats had walked out. [SPEAKER_12]: And one of the guys goes, oh, you know, I can't just walk out of my job. [SPEAKER_12]: This is me off.

[SPEAKER_12]: And I went, [SPEAKER_12]: They're doing their job. [SPEAKER_12]: The reason why they're walking out is because they're protecting their constituents. [SPEAKER_12]: And it's not illegal, by the way, because we don't have a film buster. [SPEAKER_12]: This is the only thing they have that they can do. [SPEAKER_12]: Right. [SPEAKER_12]: And the Supreme Court of Texas ruled in nineteen twenty one that it was actually. [SPEAKER_12]: Um, a, um, uh, what do you call a tactic?

[SPEAKER_12]: It's a little tactic that they could use. [SPEAKER_12]: So anyway, they started talking about it. [SPEAKER_12]: And David was explaining to them because you should see, you know, my husband, you can see how they're, they're Jerry Mandarin. [SPEAKER_12]: It's, it's unbelievable. [SPEAKER_12]: They're making it. [SPEAKER_12]: It looks like a dumbbell. [SPEAKER_12]: I mean, they're, they're just, they're taking parts of Austin and going all the way up to college station.

[SPEAKER_12]: And just like all these rural areas that always go Republican and then the one district that's represented by a Democrat boy dog it would be completely, you know, eliminated and so it and it's kind of funny because [SPEAKER_12]: all of these good Democrats. [SPEAKER_12]: Like, um, let's just make a catch my crocket. [SPEAKER_12]: Um, they're looking to get rid of it to Jeremy. [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: They can't stand it.

[SPEAKER_07]: We, we talked about some of this in our one. [SPEAKER_07]: We will definitely talk about this after the break here because there, there are, there are some good tools and some good numbers. [SPEAKER_07]: We'll, we'll hit them quick over this that that that folks should know about this kind of thing. [SPEAKER_07]: But it's, [SPEAKER_07]: This is not just a Texas fight. [SPEAKER_07]: It's it started down there in Texas, but it definitely could end in a whole lot of other places.

[SPEAKER_12]: We, we, we, they're trying to steal democracy from all of us. [SPEAKER_12]: Yes. [SPEAKER_07]: And that is just not acceptable. [SPEAKER_07]: Not okay. [SPEAKER_07]: We are very glad look if you just joined us. [SPEAKER_07]: The wonderful and the wonderful care and they are both here from True Loop, Paula Ticks, Jody and I are hanging out with them and with you here on a Friday night. [SPEAKER_07]: It's time for another break.

[SPEAKER_07]: We got to go pick up a few glasses, pay a few bills, and then we have two more segments with all of us here. [SPEAKER_07]: So look, freshen up your drink, do what you got to do, and we'll come back. [SPEAKER_07]: Also, we got a little bit, it's kind of funny. [SPEAKER_07]: It was from Alan coming, who was, I don't know, filling in for Jimmy Kimmel. [SPEAKER_07]: We want to play that. [SPEAKER_07]: I think I'll play that off the DVR when we come back.

[SPEAKER_07]: Look, it is a Friday night at the politics bar, some funs and you guys do. [SPEAKER_07]: Hang on, come on back. [SPEAKER_11]: We'll be right back after we pay some bills at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_05]: Are you ready to sell your house? [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, I will buy it. [SPEAKER_05]: Come on. [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, you could. [SPEAKER_07]: Thank you very much, YouTube. [SPEAKER_07]: Let me flip over to where it is. [SPEAKER_07]: Here goes here.

[SPEAKER_01]: Just like superheroes, trans people are born with something special and magical about them, and they often have to hide what special and magical about them, from other people. [SPEAKER_01]: Like superheroes, they grow up in a society that doesn't understand them, that makes them the other and often hits them. [SPEAKER_01]: Like superheroes, trans people just want the world to be a safer place, and they believe we should protect each other and live our lives in peace.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like superheroes, evil billionaires want to get rid of trans people for no fucking reason whatsoever. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm just like superheroes. [SPEAKER_01]: Trans people are not new. [SPEAKER_01]: They've been around forever and they're not going anywhere. [SPEAKER_01]: No matter how much this administration tries to make you fear them. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_12]: There you go. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, love that. [SPEAKER_12]: The guy from Texas, actually a minister.

[SPEAKER_05]: James Taylor, we go. [SPEAKER_12]: Yes. [SPEAKER_12]: And he talked about how they, they're not the problem. [SPEAKER_12]: The billionaire, the only marginalized group that is hurting people. [SPEAKER_07]: I think that was, I think it was was it's recent here that he made that. [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, he said that the one percent that's not damaged or the one percent that that's damaged you guys. [SPEAKER_07]: That's harming us. [SPEAKER_07]: It is an immigrants.

[SPEAKER_07]: It isn't trans people. [SPEAKER_07]: It's a billionaire source. [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, I don't tell Rico. [SPEAKER_12]: Oh, my God. [SPEAKER_12]: He's another up and coming. [SPEAKER_12]: He's only like, thirty four years old. [SPEAKER_07]: You got some amazing Democrats there in Texas. [SPEAKER_07]: You got some great Democrats. [SPEAKER_07]: I know he did. [SPEAKER_12]: Yes, that's right. [SPEAKER_07]: But here's here's the thing. [SPEAKER_07]: So we put this.

[SPEAKER_07]: We talked about this in hour one because this is this is kind of important. [SPEAKER_07]: It's in the news on tap today at the politics bar.com. [SPEAKER_07]: There's a piece from the Washington Post. [SPEAKER_07]: We gave it as a gift link. [SPEAKER_07]: So if you don't have a subscription, don't worry. [SPEAKER_07]: You can still get it there. [SPEAKER_07]: The talks about how Democrats need to take lessons from the Cold War.

[SPEAKER_07]: because this redistricting fight, this isn't going away. [SPEAKER_07]: We had another piece that we linked that links to punchbowl news. [SPEAKER_07]: And it quotes, it sites the fact that Republicans are going to be going after at least twelve seats. [SPEAKER_07]: They want at least twelve seats. [SPEAKER_07]: They want some Florida. [SPEAKER_07]: They want from Indiana. [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, exactly. [SPEAKER_07]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_07]: So [SPEAKER_07]: Democrats need to focus on two different things. [SPEAKER_07]: They need to focus on counter force and counter value. [SPEAKER_07]: Counter value is a tool that's basically we use the full weight of our market power, our cultural influence and our legal authority. [SPEAKER_07]: So Alan coming or Stephen Colbert, we use that to push and make pain in areas that are red state areas.

[SPEAKER_07]: And I don't want you to be in pain in need of [SPEAKER_07]: But I wanted to make sure that the Republicans in your state understand, we are not going to bow to their authoritarian designs. [SPEAKER_07]: We're just not. [SPEAKER_12]: And the only way to get a learn, let me tell you something, the only way Republicans ever learn is when it stops being advantageous to them. [SPEAKER_12]: So by, yes, we have to do this. [SPEAKER_12]: We have to fight that fire with fire.

[SPEAKER_12]: And we're playing by their rules. [SPEAKER_12]: That's the thing. [SPEAKER_07]: Bingo. [SPEAKER_07]: Bingo, Karen is right on that. [SPEAKER_07]: And he is right, too. [SPEAKER_07]: But look, here's the thing. [SPEAKER_07]: Counter value is exactly that. [SPEAKER_07]: It makes it more expensive, literally and figuratively, for the opposition to do the things that they're doing. [SPEAKER_07]: So that's one of the big tools is counter value.

[SPEAKER_07]: Counter force, we're all enough to remember this one. [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, nice, nice, martini, by the way. [SPEAKER_07]: We're all enough to remember mutually assured destruction in the Cold War. [SPEAKER_07]: And how to force exactly what Democrats need to be doing? [SPEAKER_07]: Democrats who are in California, you guys need to push through. [SPEAKER_07]: You need to say, I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_07]: We're going to do this. [SPEAKER_07]: If you're a Democrat, New York, same thing.

[SPEAKER_07]: If you're a Democrat in Illinois, listening on WCP, T.A. [SPEAKER_07]: twenty dance skips. [SPEAKER_07]: You need to be here. [SPEAKER_12]: Yep. [SPEAKER_12]: All those states. [SPEAKER_12]: And guess what? [SPEAKER_12]: We have the advantage. [SPEAKER_07]: Right. [SPEAKER_07]: Right. [SPEAKER_07]: This is what I was saying last time. [SPEAKER_12]: I want to play this game. [SPEAKER_12]: I mean, played by the rules. [SPEAKER_12]: California had an independent panel.

[SPEAKER_12]: New York had an independent panel. [SPEAKER_12]: Those are the reasons why we lost the house. [SPEAKER_12]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_14]: And they know they know and I said this on Richard to earlier. [SPEAKER_14]: They have always banged on the fact that we were not going to meet fire with fire. [SPEAKER_14]: And so they weaponize our goodness again. [SPEAKER_14]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_14]: And so this is I pulled the rug out from underneath them and show them.

[SPEAKER_14]: We're not playing anymore. [SPEAKER_14]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_14]: This is this is our democracy. [SPEAKER_14]: This is way too serious. [SPEAKER_07]: We have been using the clip from the untouchables all week long about playing the Chicago way as exactly. [SPEAKER_07]: They bring a knife. [SPEAKER_07]: We bring a gun. [SPEAKER_07]: They bring a gun. [SPEAKER_07]: We bring a bigger gun. [SPEAKER_07]: You know, I mean, you want to go as there's a friend of mine.

[SPEAKER_07]: He lives in now and in southern Missouri. [SPEAKER_07]: But he said this phrase for years. [SPEAKER_07]: He says anytime you feel in froggy boy jump. [SPEAKER_07]: You say that to some of those kind of people and they get really pissed off because they know if you're if you're throwing that down. [SPEAKER_07]: You're generally pretty serious. [SPEAKER_07]: You are you're you're not messing around and they man they hate that day.

[SPEAKER_12]: And it's the only thing they understand. [SPEAKER_12]: Okay. [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: I wish I wish that they would be you know more sensible. [SPEAKER_12]: I wish that they wouldn't be stupid, but I wish they cared about democracy. [SPEAKER_12]: I wish a lot of things. [SPEAKER_12]: The American people, but the only thing they get into office for is to serve their billionaire donors and multinational corporations. [SPEAKER_12]: That's the only thing they do.

[SPEAKER_15]: They also get power and money out of being in office. [SPEAKER_15]: And that's also. [SPEAKER_15]: that match three toes she came in with you know maybe a million dollars to her name and now she's got what twenty seven million or something. [SPEAKER_14]: Oh my gosh every time there's a fluctuation in the market now with the tariff. [SPEAKER_12]: You know she's reading power you do it for green and power and it's never to serve the American people.

[SPEAKER_12]: And we have to understand that we have to, we have to get people to understand that. [SPEAKER_12]: These people are a bunch of degenerates. [SPEAKER_07]: They are. [SPEAKER_07]: Well, and look, you can, you can see there is a story. [SPEAKER_07]: We don't put them if we, we literally could put a section in the news on tab.

[SPEAKER_07]: uh... that would be there i would say probably four days a week that would have one to two stories of republicans who are in power at local state or national levels who are being sued or accused of sexual molestation sexual attack pornography right every single time all of that ties back with the abstine scandal which we all [SPEAKER_07]: check this out. [SPEAKER_07]: The oversight committee.

[SPEAKER_07]: They have been doing some semi bipartisan things on this, but in the oversight committee, it's it's only been the Democrats who are now calling for a public hearing with the abstain victims. [SPEAKER_07]: Only the house. [SPEAKER_12]: That's what exactly I call. [SPEAKER_07]: This is what jote. [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, jote. [SPEAKER_07]: You and jote both of you were saying exactly this that it should be the victim.

[SPEAKER_12]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_12]: I call take crews office and that's exactly what I said. [SPEAKER_12]: I said. [SPEAKER_12]: She was trying to tell me. [SPEAKER_12]: Well, you know, um, they're about is Lane Maxwell and they're talking to her. [SPEAKER_12]: And I'm like, why are they talking to her? [SPEAKER_12]: She's a convicted child sex trafficker. [SPEAKER_12]: She's a purger in a prison. [SPEAKER_00]: She raped. [SPEAKER_12]: She raped those kids that watch a documentary.

[SPEAKER_12]: So victims talk about how she actually not just groom them. [SPEAKER_12]: She raped them. [SPEAKER_12]: She didn't talk to the victims. [SPEAKER_12]: Right. [SPEAKER_12]: Democrats. [SPEAKER_12]: Marine. [SPEAKER_12]: Comey and, uh, Alex a cost. [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_12]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_12]: And, uh, Alex a cost. [SPEAKER_12]: Uh, yeah. [SPEAKER_12]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_12]: And, uh, Alex a cost. [SPEAKER_12]: Uh, yeah. [SPEAKER_15]: Oh, yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: And, uh, Alex a cost. [SPEAKER_07]: Uh, yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: And, uh, yeah. [SPEAKER_15]: And, uh, Alex a cost. [SPEAKER_07]: Uh, yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: And, uh, yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: And, uh, Alex a cost. [SPEAKER_07]: Uh, yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: And, uh, yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: And, uh, Alex a cost. [SPEAKER_07]: Uh, yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: And, uh, yeah.

[SPEAKER_07]: And, uh, Alex a cost. [SPEAKER_07]: Uh, yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: And, uh, yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: And, uh, yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: And, uh, yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: And, uh, yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: And, uh, yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: And, uh, yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: And, uh, yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: And, uh, yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: And, uh, yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: And, uh, yeah. [SPEAKER_14]: Yeah, but don't you remember early. [SPEAKER_12]: The content. [SPEAKER_14]: Yeah, remember early.

[SPEAKER_14]: Although they, they did do a hearing. [SPEAKER_14]: I can't remember what it, who they had, but they did like a shadow hearing and they had people and the Democrats in. [SPEAKER_14]: So it's like that's what they have to do with this as well. [SPEAKER_07]: But that's kind of a thing that I'm pointing out is that Democrats, Democrats in Congress have been the ones who have been fighting for the victims. [SPEAKER_07]: Democrats have been doing this.

[SPEAKER_12]: And that's the thing. [SPEAKER_12]: Democrats did, and people are always saying, well, why didn't the Democrats care about this issue before? [SPEAKER_12]: All of a sudden, they care about it. [SPEAKER_12]: Well, Democrats didn't want to exploit the rate and sexual abuse of these children. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_12]: That's what Republicans are doing. [SPEAKER_12]: But it turns out Republicans never cared about the victims. [SPEAKER_03]: Right.

[SPEAKER_12]: All we cared about was trying to hurt Democrats. [SPEAKER_12]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_12]: And now it's bitten them in the ass because it's turning out guests who the perpetrators were their leaders. [SPEAKER_07]: Right. [SPEAKER_07]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_07]: So it's one of those things. [SPEAKER_07]: Look, we've even got another story that's in the news on tap about the Epstein Vixem speaking out and saying that they believe the Trump administration actions seem like a cover up.

[SPEAKER_07]: All of this is [SPEAKER_07]: It seems obvious, I know of Republicans that I've talked to. [SPEAKER_07]: Not everybody in my neighborhood is an independent or a Democrat. [SPEAKER_07]: And even they are, we tend to like, we tend to talk about the economy. [SPEAKER_07]: We tend to talk about things that matter. [SPEAKER_07]: That's just how we Democrats try.

[SPEAKER_07]: You can't get through a conversation about politics with these folks about national politics without them saying something that is basically, okay, but what about the Epstein stuff? [SPEAKER_07]: They're upset by it, too. [SPEAKER_07]: And they, they're upset by it, too. [SPEAKER_07]: And they, they are. [SPEAKER_07]: They're upset by it in part because they feel betrayed. [SPEAKER_07]: They ran on it. [SPEAKER_07]: They did. [SPEAKER_07]: That's where people ran on it.

[SPEAKER_07]: That's where people ran on it. [SPEAKER_07]: That's where people ran on it. [SPEAKER_07]: That's where people ran on it. [SPEAKER_07]: That's where people ran on it. [SPEAKER_07]: That's where people ran on it. [SPEAKER_07]: That's where people ran on it. [SPEAKER_07]: That's where people ran on it. [SPEAKER_14]: That's where people ran on it. [SPEAKER_15]: That's where people ran on it. [SPEAKER_15]: That's where people ran on it. [SPEAKER_15]: That's where people ran on it.

[SPEAKER_07]: That's where people ran on it. [SPEAKER_07]: That's where people ran on it. [SPEAKER_15]: That's where people ran on it. [SPEAKER_15]: That's where people ran on it. [SPEAKER_15]: That's where people ran on it. [SPEAKER_15]: That's where people ran on it. [SPEAKER_15]: That's [SPEAKER_15]: It was started, but secondly, Donald, at all, ran on this.

[SPEAKER_12]: And Joe Biden, by the way, during the Biden administration, they were, the, uh, the, uh, the last trial trial trial was, no, it was, and Maxwell trial was going on. [SPEAKER_12]: Yes. [SPEAKER_12]: They wouldn't, they wouldn't have done it. [SPEAKER_14]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_12]: So they couldn't have done it at that time. [SPEAKER_07]: Because there's an active trial right. [SPEAKER_12]: And like I said, we were not going to exploit this horrible situation with these children.

[SPEAKER_12]: But the Republicans did not care about the victims of this. [SPEAKER_12]: They never cared about that. [SPEAKER_07]: They never do. [SPEAKER_07]: They never do. [SPEAKER_07]: They don't care about the shelter. [SPEAKER_07]: They don't tend to care about anything. [SPEAKER_07]: I've said this before. [SPEAKER_07]: I made a post on one of the different social platforms this week to Jane Klab about this. [SPEAKER_07]: She's the Nebraska Democratic Party head.

[SPEAKER_07]: And I reminded her of the phrase that I have said for years, the modern Republican motto. [SPEAKER_07]: It's very simple. [SPEAKER_07]: It's so simple even they can remember it. [SPEAKER_07]: It's only five words. [SPEAKER_07]: I've got mine f u. That is what Republicans today think as long as they have theirs, whatever it is as long as they have it, screw you and screw anybody who says that you should be thinking about anybody else.

[SPEAKER_07]: And I know that that sounds really harsh. [SPEAKER_07]: And I know that a lot of Republican voters don't necessarily that that's not their primary. [SPEAKER_07]: But anybody who votes for Republicans and anybody who runs as a Republican today, that really is your guy's parties. [SPEAKER_07]: That's your motto. [SPEAKER_12]: They're the guardians of the pet of pet. [SPEAKER_14]: Well, and not only that, but as long as they are not on the bottom tier of the racial hierarchy.

[SPEAKER_14]: Sure as long as they can always vote again on somebody else. [SPEAKER_12]: They are only, they only care about protecting the status of white. [SPEAKER_12]: men. [SPEAKER_07]: Which rich white heterosexual men? [SPEAKER_12]: Yes, which is because I'm like, no, that's there's it's just white it basically they care about protecting the status of mediocre white men. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_12]: Yes. [SPEAKER_12]: Yes. [SPEAKER_07]: Well, I mean, they are mediocre.

[SPEAKER_07]: They just happen to have a lot of money in their bag account. [SPEAKER_07]: I mean, they're not a mediocre. [SPEAKER_14]: I mean, because there's some way women, yeah, there's some way women, you know, that will vote to protect their husbands. [SPEAKER_14]: And they don't have to be rich. [SPEAKER_14]: They don't. [SPEAKER_12]: They don't. [SPEAKER_12]: They don't. [SPEAKER_12]: They don't have to be rich. [SPEAKER_12]: They don't. [SPEAKER_12]: They don't.

[SPEAKER_12]: They don't have to be rich. [SPEAKER_12]: They don't. [SPEAKER_12]: They don't. [SPEAKER_12]: They don't have to be rich. [SPEAKER_12]: They don't. [SPEAKER_12]: They don't. [SPEAKER_12]: They don't. [SPEAKER_12]: They don't. [SPEAKER_12]: They don't. [SPEAKER_12]: They don't. [SPEAKER_12]: They don't. [SPEAKER_12]: They don't. [SPEAKER_12]: They don't. [SPEAKER_12]: They don't. [SPEAKER_12]: They don't. [SPEAKER_12]: They don't. [SPEAKER_12]: They don't. [SPEAKER_12]: They don't.

[SPEAKER_12]: They don't. [SPEAKER_07]: They don't. [SPEAKER_07]: They don't. [SPEAKER_07]: They don't. [SPEAKER_07]: They don't. [SPEAKER_12]: They don't. [SPEAKER_12]: They don't. [SPEAKER_12]: They don't. [SPEAKER_03]: They don't. [SPEAKER_03]: They don't. [SPEAKER_03]: They don't. [SPEAKER_03]: They don't. [SPEAKER_03]: They don't. [SPEAKER_07]: They don't. [SPEAKER_07]: They don't. [SPEAKER_03]: They don't. [SPEAKER_03]: They don't. [SPEAKER_07]: They don't. [SPEAKER_07]: They don't.

[SPEAKER_07]: They don [SPEAKER_07]: So goodness. [SPEAKER_12]: So it's better than they really do think that at least are better than black people or brown people. [SPEAKER_07]: That ain't true. [SPEAKER_07]: We all know that one. [SPEAKER_12]: Of course it's not true. [SPEAKER_12]: I mean, for a black person to make it in this century, they have to be far superior. [SPEAKER_12]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_07]: That makes sense. [SPEAKER_07]: And twice is good.

[SPEAKER_07]: or a woman exactly, you know, walk backwards and then he'll. [SPEAKER_07]: So speaking of mediocre white women, uh, Cristina, oh, sorry, you did a lot of that. [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, she's, she's, she's mad at South Park for, for mocking her looks this week. [SPEAKER_12]: Oh, because she's melting. [SPEAKER_12]: And I like her little pit crew that comes and fixes her all the time. [SPEAKER_12]: And of course, extensions are really nice, though.

[SPEAKER_12]: I mean, if you look at her hair, she's got a lot of basic extensions. [SPEAKER_12]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_07]: You know her hair person has to be somebody who it's got to be a gay hairdresser. [SPEAKER_07]: I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_07]: Just a bit. [SPEAKER_14]: Those hair extensions are, hey, and that's not season were well dressed. [SPEAKER_14]: So there you go. [SPEAKER_14]: You go boss. [SPEAKER_14]: They have a lot of anxiety.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, yeah, but she she goes around in her little DHS vest. [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, you know, I'm not just playing costume changes. [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, my God. [SPEAKER_12]: She's just cross so she can change quickly because that's how I have no idea, but she's always spending hundreds of thousands of dollars for her to make these promo videos, right? [SPEAKER_12]: I'm writing on a horse and [SPEAKER_12]: you know, during all her fatigue, whenever she wears, she's always in costume.

[SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, but it's so ridiculous. [SPEAKER_12]: All these, that's what I liked about South Park. [SPEAKER_12]: They portray them as the absurd clown show they are. [SPEAKER_12]: They're just ridiculous. [SPEAKER_14]: I mean, it's all based in truth and things that happen. [SPEAKER_14]: I mean, I was watching it and I kept saying, it's not real. [SPEAKER_14]: It's not real. [SPEAKER_14]: Those aren't real puppies. [SPEAKER_14]: Those are hurting. [SPEAKER_07]: They do.

[SPEAKER_07]: Reportedly, reportedly, she's pissed. [SPEAKER_07]: Trump is pissed. [SPEAKER_07]: Johnny Vance is, you know, he was made to look like tattoo from San Francisco Island. [SPEAKER_07]: and say he liked it, I guess. [SPEAKER_12]: I like the sport in the massage, and it sounds pretty disgusting. [SPEAKER_07]: Look, we have one more segment here. [SPEAKER_07]: It is Friday night, we go. [SPEAKER_07]: Okay.

[SPEAKER_07]: And Anita, we are hanging out with them, and we're hanging out with them, and we're hanging out with them, and we're hanging out with them, and we're hanging out with them, and we're hanging out with them, and we're hanging out with them, and we're hanging out with them, and we're hanging out with them, and we're hanging out with them, and we're hanging out with them, and we're hanging out with them, and we're hanging out with them, and we're hanging out with them, and we're hanging out with them, and we're hanging out with them, and we're hanging out with them, and we're hanging out with them, and we're hanging out with them, and we're hanging out with them, and we're hanging out with them, and we're hanging out with them, and we're hanging

[SPEAKER_11]: We'll be right back after we pay some bills at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_04]: Let's call for alcohol. [SPEAKER_07]: Well, also alcohol. [SPEAKER_07]: It's Friday night here at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_07]: You got Jody and me and Anita and Karen from True Blue Politics and we are very glad that we have you coming into the bar as well. [SPEAKER_07]: Thank you very much for joining us every week nights and of course joining us on the podcast as well.

[SPEAKER_07]: Remember if you missed any of it, you can always subscribe to the podcast of politicsbar.com or just find us on your favorite podcast player type in the politics bar. [SPEAKER_07]: We'll show up. [SPEAKER_07]: We'll be there for you anytime, twenty four seven three sixty five. [SPEAKER_07]: All right, Friday nights. [SPEAKER_07]: Um, God, what else is going on out there? [SPEAKER_07]: There, there's some other stories in the news.

[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, Joe, do you said there was an update that we missed after we sent out the news on tap today? [SPEAKER_15]: Yeah, uh, according to okay. [SPEAKER_15]: So yesterday, we had a thing about how the federal Judiciary's filing system got [SPEAKER_07]: Right, the pace, the pace or system got hacked. [SPEAKER_07]: We have that in yesterday's.

[SPEAKER_15]: And according to Politico, drug cartels may be one of those that obtained the data, which means they can intimidate witnesses, kill witnesses, find out who the witnesses are. [SPEAKER_15]: I mean, [SPEAKER_15]: This is bad. [SPEAKER_07]: That's why the Pacer system is, it is one of those systems that is in a, under a normal administration. [SPEAKER_07]: One of the types of things that is extremely well protected as far as cyber wise. [SPEAKER_07]: This is awful.

[SPEAKER_07]: It's horrible, but it is another example of how government under Republicans and government under Trump is failing. [SPEAKER_07]: So bad. [SPEAKER_12]: So incompetent. [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, God. [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: I didn't like George W. Bush and Dick Cheney. [SPEAKER_07]: Literally, my family has like a thing with a cheney family going back like a hundred years, seriously. [SPEAKER_07]: But the fact of the matter is, they were at least mostly come to competent.

[SPEAKER_12]: Well, he surrounded himself with some competence, okay? [SPEAKER_12]: Dick Cheney, Dick Cheney had been in politics. [SPEAKER_12]: He was from Nixon. [SPEAKER_12]: He had been there. [SPEAKER_12]: He worked for Nixon. [SPEAKER_12]: He kind of knew what he was doing. [SPEAKER_12]: I mean, it was evil. [SPEAKER_12]: There was some people that surrounded them, even like what was your name, Rice? [SPEAKER_12]: I mean, yes, the whole, you know, they would wires and all that other stuff.

[SPEAKER_12]: But there was some competence there. [SPEAKER_12]: And they weren't trying to, they were competent liars. [SPEAKER_03]: They were cops. [SPEAKER_12]: Well, well, yeah, and there was some, I mean, every time there's a Republican administration, there's always some kind of illegal shenanigans going on. [SPEAKER_12]: I mean, for again, I ran contra. [SPEAKER_07]: We titled the story. [SPEAKER_07]: We titled the podcast yesterday, dishonest conventional wisdom.

[SPEAKER_07]: I believe John Fugle's same point. [SPEAKER_07]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_07]: And that's what you're getting with this current Trump second Trump regime. [SPEAKER_07]: Conventional wisdom was with the W Bush. [SPEAKER_07]: This is unconventional and it's stupid. [SPEAKER_12]: And there's a shame. [SPEAKER_12]: There's a shame. [SPEAKER_07]: Right. [SPEAKER_07]: Check this out. [SPEAKER_07]: Brian Driscoll. [SPEAKER_07]: Remember he was the the acting FBI head.

[SPEAKER_07]: The Trump stuck in there. [SPEAKER_07]: They call him the driz. [SPEAKER_07]: He was [SPEAKER_07]: Even he was somewhat competent. [SPEAKER_07]: Well, he's he's one of the people that they fired this week. [SPEAKER_07]: Ken Ken Delaney and MSNBC put this out on his socials earlier today said fired FBI executive Brian Driscoll was just clapped out of an FBI facility in Virginia.

[SPEAKER_07]: I don't know if you you guys have ever seen that somebody who's who's with honor they do a pause. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: And they, and they, and this, this can go on for quite a while and they clap this person as they are leaving the facility. [SPEAKER_07]: More than two hundred people paid this guy tribute.

[SPEAKER_07]: And look, everybody knew that he was somewhat of a trumper and yet he was still somewhat competent, which is part of the reason that he can be there for your competence. [SPEAKER_07]: Ken says he says people at the bureau are really, really pissed off. [SPEAKER_07]: I saw somebody else either on CNN or MSNBC or maybe it was on NBC now earlier today who says that the the morale at the FBI of the rank and file is just [SPEAKER_07]: It's, I can imagine.

[SPEAKER_07]: Oh, wait a minute. [SPEAKER_07]: They're all pissed off. [SPEAKER_12]: There's a new, there's a, there's a, the prosecutor's in the justice department. [SPEAKER_12]: Right. [SPEAKER_14]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_14]: So which newsmax host is going to take his place. [SPEAKER_14]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_15]: Newsmax either way. [SPEAKER_14]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_12]: Kid rock. [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_12]: Okay. [SPEAKER_07]: Well, that would be actual work and Kidrock doesn't like to do that.

[SPEAKER_12]: They're all complaining that they, it's work. [SPEAKER_12]: Like what's your name, Jeanine Piro? [SPEAKER_12]: Jeanine Piro. [SPEAKER_12]: Oh, it's so much, it's so much more of a damage. [SPEAKER_12]: You know, he has to get up and sit at any has to be in an, an, an office desk in an office desk, an audition, an audition, an audition, an audition. [SPEAKER_12]: So early. [SPEAKER_07]: What time do you roll out of the rack? [SPEAKER_07]: Usually, Jody. [SPEAKER_15]: Three.

[SPEAKER_15]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: I can't have about five. [SPEAKER_07]: I love that. [SPEAKER_15]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: And he's and he's winding. [SPEAKER_07]: He has to be to work by seven thirty. [SPEAKER_15]: So my job had to be at work. [SPEAKER_15]: And I was so happy because then I was done by two, but right. [SPEAKER_15]: You made a step with Stephanie. [SPEAKER_15]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_12]: Oh, no. [SPEAKER_15]: Stephanie, I was up at midnight.

[SPEAKER_07]: Right. [SPEAKER_07]: But I believe it. [SPEAKER_07]: A lot of they they call like like Christy the Nome called a South Park. [SPEAKER_03]: You know, I do. [SPEAKER_07]: I do. [SPEAKER_07]: She's she has no more value as a government employee to me than an empty headed gnome on the lawn. [SPEAKER_07]: And quite fair. [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: The gnome probably has a little bit more value because squirrels at least might be scared of it. [SPEAKER_06]: And it's damaged.

[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_06]: It's just it's reduced. [SPEAKER_07]: I, I, you know, I get so frustrated about. [SPEAKER_07]: I get frustrated about that kind of thing and I think a lot of us do on our side because we realize that's a lot of this, you know, then putting up the Confederate statues again, there's a lot of stupid things that they're doing that it's going, we will be able to clean this crap up.

[SPEAKER_07]: It's going to take a lot of time, a lot of energy that we could be putting towards other things. [SPEAKER_07]: But we will be able to do it. [SPEAKER_07]: But it's more the annoyance of it. [SPEAKER_07]: It's the fact that it didn't have to be this way. [SPEAKER_14]: Well, it's the degradation too.

[SPEAKER_14]: I mean, when you have that happening and then you have somebody, you know, and then you have the president of the United States talking about where the farm labor is going to come from. [SPEAKER_12]: Right. [SPEAKER_14]: And referring to we're going to bring people in the inner cities into the fields. [SPEAKER_15]: people can't do it because their backs get broken and then they die. [SPEAKER_12]: Well, I have to say something also the same.

[SPEAKER_12]: I was just brings me back to what Janine Piero was complaining about and about how she has to pay for water and everything. [SPEAKER_12]: I was just thinking about that. [SPEAKER_12]: You know, this is how government works. [SPEAKER_12]: It's lean because we give them very little money. [SPEAKER_12]: They keep talking about all this wasteful spending [SPEAKER_12]: There's no way we'll spend in these people work on such a. You need a, you're not wrong.

[SPEAKER_07]: We, if we have had any number of stories here at the politics bar before when I worked at Randy Rhodes show, we had stories even then of some of these doge bags that got in screwed up different agencies, whatever. [SPEAKER_07]: And then on their way out, they would grab the ear of somebody to Washington Post or somebody at Fox or something.

[SPEAKER_07]: And they would say, you know what, I actually found the government workers that I was working with are really dedicated and they do amazing things with almost no money. [SPEAKER_07]: And they would say they would say just exactly what you said. [SPEAKER_07]: And you know, they go, well, there's really not a whole lot of waste and fraud here already. [SPEAKER_12]: It's just a myth that Republicans managed to get people to believe.

[SPEAKER_12]: And the media, and the media pushed it. [SPEAKER_12]: Yes, it's just all this wasting government started with Reagan. [SPEAKER_12]: And it's not Reagan. [SPEAKER_12]: And the whole time there's wasting government, it's where Republicans are running it. [SPEAKER_07]: Yes, it is. [SPEAKER_07]: It is infuriating. [SPEAKER_07]: I understand how infuriating all of this is to all of us. [SPEAKER_07]: But we also have to remember. [SPEAKER_07]: The important thing is not to get down.

[SPEAKER_07]: And the important thing is to stand and fight. [SPEAKER_07]: I will exactly. [SPEAKER_07]: We did this an hour one. [SPEAKER_07]: We talked about this. [SPEAKER_07]: There's a thing in in logic in mathematical logic. [SPEAKER_07]: Probability. [SPEAKER_07]: It's called a four box. [SPEAKER_07]: Four box of logic. [SPEAKER_07]: When you have a binary, when either one party A will win or party B will win, both parties could win or both parties could lose.

[SPEAKER_07]: Republicans, the only way that they think that they can win is if they win and other people lose. [SPEAKER_07]: Now that's Republicans today. [SPEAKER_07]: Republicans back in the day were somewhat okay. [SPEAKER_07]: If it was a win win situation, they didn't necessarily like lose lose, but they were at least happy that they weren't on the completely losing end.

[SPEAKER_07]: But if you look at that four box, a chance of person A wins person B loses or they go away around or they both win or they both lose. [SPEAKER_07]: The only one of those four options in that four box that Maga Republicans want is when they win and everybody else loses. [SPEAKER_07]: Well, do the math.

[SPEAKER_07]: That means that of a hundred percent of opportunities in two parties whether it's going to be you winning or me winning, [SPEAKER_07]: seventy five percent of them are us seventy five percent of them is chances for us for the folks on our side to win. [SPEAKER_07]: All we have to do is keep going and fight. [SPEAKER_07]: All we have to do is stand up and stand up for ourselves. [SPEAKER_07]: Stand up for the people we believe in and fight for those things.

[SPEAKER_12]: So the problem is they never accept that they lost. [SPEAKER_12]: True. [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_12]: We can look at it all the way back. [SPEAKER_12]: I mean with Obama remember. [SPEAKER_07]: We can go back. [SPEAKER_07]: We can go all the way back to Civil War. [SPEAKER_12]: With Kennedy yell at the Civil War. [SPEAKER_12]: Yes. [SPEAKER_12]: And then with Kennedy Kennedy didn't win because he cheated in Chicago or whatever.

[SPEAKER_12]: They always, they never can admit to those in the Civil War. [SPEAKER_12]: It's a great example. [SPEAKER_12]: I mean, they still own a man. [SPEAKER_12]: No, I put this statue back up. [SPEAKER_12]: It's the same. [SPEAKER_12]: Yeah, we can tear apart the rose garden, but don't take down those Confederate statues. [SPEAKER_07]: Right. [SPEAKER_12]: So those are traitor statues. [SPEAKER_07]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_07]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_07]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_07]: Because because the Confederacy was another country, quote unquote. [SPEAKER_07]: And look, the Confederacy was only around for five years. [SPEAKER_07]: What did John say yesterday, Joe, that's our TikTok. [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, it's a TikTok thing. [SPEAKER_07]: It was like a longer than the Civil War. [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_07]: And he's right. [SPEAKER_07]: But this is the thing.

[SPEAKER_07]: We know that when it comes down to it, [SPEAKER_07]: Yes, it's going to take us a while to clean up all this mess. [SPEAKER_07]: But in the end, when we get to the next, you know, point where we are in power, we will fix things and we will make them better. [SPEAKER_07]: We have to destroy them. [SPEAKER_14]: Yeah, we have to destroy that. [SPEAKER_14]: That's right. [SPEAKER_07]: That's what I was just going to have to make sure we have to make sure we never get back in power.

[SPEAKER_07]: That's right. [SPEAKER_14]: We need to crush them into dust. [SPEAKER_12]: They can't do. [SPEAKER_12]: When they come in, when they get into power, they're destructive. [SPEAKER_12]: We can't allow them to ever govern again. [SPEAKER_12]: And that is right. [SPEAKER_12]: I mean, I don't say that. [SPEAKER_12]: Right. [SPEAKER_14]: But there's no moving on for the good of the country.

[SPEAKER_14]: You know, like every single time they do something, we say, we have to move on for the good of the country, you know, Civil War. [SPEAKER_14]: After the crash, you know, Barack Obama, we need to move on, you know, after they put that press into our network. [SPEAKER_14]: It's an unprecedented action.

[SPEAKER_07]: look at and and if this is it gives us a very strange bed pillows when we're talking about some of this stuff because yes it means that we have everybody from joe walls to zorn mondani in our our coalition but even including james carville who

[SPEAKER_07]: you know I have I have mixed feelings I've said this before a jet about James Carville and I know a young woman who got she's brilliant and she worked with James and she's fantastic and but I James is is sometimes I dislike him but he just apologized to Melania [SPEAKER_07]: Well, yeah, he's even he's even on board. [SPEAKER_07]: But he's he can't board this that we put a piece in the news on tap today.

[SPEAKER_07]: Then he said when we regain power Democrats have to add states and expand the Supreme Court, we need to. [SPEAKER_07]: We got seven territories. [SPEAKER_07]: We can get rid of those and bring them in. [SPEAKER_12]: And they want. [SPEAKER_12]: They'll pay like what they did with the Affordable Care Act. [SPEAKER_12]: Obama came in with a super majority. [SPEAKER_12]: We could have shoved that. [SPEAKER_12]: We could have shed universal health care down their throats.

[SPEAKER_12]: We didn't have to go with the ACA. [SPEAKER_12]: We tried to compromise with them. [SPEAKER_12]: Forget all that. [SPEAKER_12]: From now on, we're going to do what we want. [SPEAKER_12]: What we have to do and just forget about, but to stop listening to all their whiting. [SPEAKER_07]: Amen. [SPEAKER_07]: Amen. [SPEAKER_07]: Amen. [SPEAKER_07]: Very much right. [SPEAKER_12]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_07]: He got three things on that one, Anita.

[SPEAKER_07]: Look, it is the end of a Friday night and the end of another long week. [SPEAKER_07]: We hope that you have a very good weekend. [SPEAKER_07]: Look, kickback, relax. [SPEAKER_07]: Don't worry about the news. [SPEAKER_07]: If you don't need to look, we'll get you. [SPEAKER_07]: You know, caught up on Monday when you come back to the bar. [SPEAKER_07]: And then next week, we have some great people.

[SPEAKER_07]: Of course, we have some of the regulars at Bob Cesca and Brooklyn Dad Defiant. [SPEAKER_07]: We also have an Carlos as Rocky coming in. [SPEAKER_07]: And of course. [SPEAKER_07]: You guys back, Anita and Karen, thank you for coming tonight. [SPEAKER_07]: We love it every time. [SPEAKER_07]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_07]: We'll have everybody here. [SPEAKER_07]: Look, get out there. [SPEAKER_07]: Be safe this weekend.

[SPEAKER_07]: We will see you next Monday night here at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_12]: Let's go. [SPEAKER_12]: Let's go.
