[SPEAKER_08]: How are you? [SPEAKER_08]: You know, I'm tired. [SPEAKER_08]: It's already months. [SPEAKER_08]: It's only Monday. [SPEAKER_08]: It's only Monday. [SPEAKER_08]: I know. [SPEAKER_08]: It's only Monday, but it has it's been kind of one of those Monday kind of Mondays.

[SPEAKER_08]: I will honestly Today is also a tree day. [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, to tell you about that. [SPEAKER_08]: They're dead. [SPEAKER_08]: It's a seasonal thing [SPEAKER_08]: out here in the Virginia DC area of the bar. [SPEAKER_08]: Hopefully you guys are coming in here from whatever corner of the bar you have to be whatever seasonal things are going on there. [SPEAKER_08]: We're glad you're joining us tonight.

[SPEAKER_08]: They will be back in the ATL.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, yeah, or maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe maybe you're listening on the podcast And you're one of those wonderful future people in which case hello for the past we keep saying we do glory and bad We do Yeah, are you still there? [SPEAKER_08]: Is there still there? [SPEAKER_08]: Tap or tap or tap or tap? [SPEAKER_08]: It's a Monday and any day is very much a Monday kind of a Monday, but it is also indigenous people's day. [SPEAKER_08]: It is.

[SPEAKER_08]: Indigenous people's day for those people who don't know. [SPEAKER_08]: It is a day of celebration and protest and reclaiming history. [SPEAKER_08]: Some what started semi-fishing in 1992. [SPEAKER_08]: It is not technically recognized as a federal holiday. [SPEAKER_08]: Joe Biden recognized it all four years of his presidency and of course Donald Trump. [SPEAKER_08]: It not only ignored it, so he was weird about it.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, he put out to this, this thing about, you know, we need to reclaim Columbus. [SPEAKER_08]: We're, you realize that Columbus Ohio doesn't even recognize Columbus Day. [SPEAKER_08]: They took down Columbus Ohio, took down the statue of Columbus of Christopher Columbus, like 2019. [SPEAKER_08]: I think it was or something like that. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, because he was a rapist and a murderer and an awful awful human being who's the Donald Trump of his time.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_08]: He was he was a monster and he took credit for things that other people did and didn't take responsibility for the things that he did. [SPEAKER_08]: Um, yeah, basically he was a real A-hole. [SPEAKER_00]: That's a nice way to put it. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, you know, if you're paying the barking, that's E-no, he's still here. [SPEAKER_08]: Hello, E-no. [SPEAKER_08]: So we like, you know, we like to keep you hanging out here.

[SPEAKER_08]: He's he's like, whatever, he's fine. [SPEAKER_08]: He's taking it out. [SPEAKER_08]: But cats and dogs and kids, we are all glad. [SPEAKER_08]: And hopefully all of those will be out at the no kings rallies this week. [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, I have some news. [SPEAKER_08]: I have some news for you, Johnny. [SPEAKER_08]: Got an email earlier today from our friend Antonio Ariano. [SPEAKER_08]: Remember who is the next guy for indivisible?

[SPEAKER_08]: And he says, hey, you want to talk to Lee? [SPEAKER_08]: A green bird co-founder of indivisible this Thursday. [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: course I said yes. [SPEAKER_08]: So Leah is going to be here. [SPEAKER_08]: We will get you all prep for the no kings rally. [SPEAKER_08]: Think of it as no kings week. [SPEAKER_08]: Remember get your inflatable costumes now. [SPEAKER_08]: You definitely should be doing that.

[SPEAKER_08]: Think of your dance music and your dance moves. [SPEAKER_08]: You know start making up your protests signs which we've got a link to the no kings website in the news on tap today. [SPEAKER_08]: So if you're looking for stuff that you need for your signs, [SPEAKER_08]: They've got all your graphics. [SPEAKER_00]: I did see on the freeway on Friday night when we were going to a thing, a banner about five. [SPEAKER_00]: So people are listening. [SPEAKER_08]: That's awesome.

[SPEAKER_08]: I am so glad they're listening. [SPEAKER_08]: Thank you, Malcolm. [SPEAKER_08]: Nancy left that nothing. [SPEAKER_08]: Get back here to the bottom. [SPEAKER_08]: We haven't been spending this side of the planet. [SPEAKER_00]: Definitely. [SPEAKER_00]: And we might have the surprise guest on Friday. [SPEAKER_00]: It's not 100% confirmed. [SPEAKER_08]: OK. [SPEAKER_08]: We can't let you know that. [SPEAKER_08]: We do have a lot of great guests. [SPEAKER_08]: We have.

[SPEAKER_00]: Franchola? [SPEAKER_08]: a franchise Wednesday. [SPEAKER_08]: We have Leah on Thursday. [SPEAKER_08]: We have Julie Franchella who is fantastic. [SPEAKER_08]: You probably hear on Thursday nights on John Fugle saying, uh, what Simon Weissmith, Julie is a indigenous professor, professor of his indigenous studies, [SPEAKER_08]: She's fantastic. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: She's a fantastic artist. [SPEAKER_08]: Just a great person all around. [SPEAKER_08]: So we're through.

[SPEAKER_08]: We don't get her today, but we will get her tomorrow. [SPEAKER_08]: So we'll talk maybe a little bit more of indigenous peoples day today and tomorrow because, you know what, hey, they were here first. [SPEAKER_08]: They were giving giving indigenous peoples all the different tribes two days. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, come on. [SPEAKER_08]: That's, we should give them everything because they were here first at least a month. [SPEAKER_00]: Hell yeah.

[SPEAKER_08]: Anyway, so we'll talk about all that today and tomorrow a little bit. [SPEAKER_08]: Plus of course we got Bob and John and Karen Anita and tonight Brooklyn Dad Defiant will be here at the bar with all of us. [SPEAKER_00]: Who might heard this morning on this Stephanie Miller show. [SPEAKER_08]: I heard him too. [SPEAKER_08]: He was on staff show. [SPEAKER_08]: It's like, yeah, BDD get around hanging out.

[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, you know, he said he hangs up a lot of cool people that we hang out with. [SPEAKER_08]: So. [SPEAKER_08]: Well, we're glad we don't have any here. [SPEAKER_08]: We'll talk about. [SPEAKER_08]: He's got a couple of great pieces. [SPEAKER_08]: We've got those linked in the news on tap as well. [SPEAKER_08]: So lots of stuff to talk about.

[SPEAKER_08]: One of the things we probably won't talk about all that much and maybe we should just dress it at the top is this stupid ridiculous idea that most of the mainstream media has been on today. [SPEAKER_08]: That. [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, it's a piece deal. [SPEAKER_00]: It's on. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a ceasefire. [SPEAKER_08]: Jodie is right. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm glad.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm glad the hostages are now with their families and God knows they could have been released over a year ago, but hey, that BB did not want to do that. [SPEAKER_08]: You know, like 18 months ago or whatever, right, because maybe it was, maybe it was not focused on actually the Israeli people, which you would think is their prime minister. [SPEAKER_08]: That's his job, but whatever.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm glad they're home and they're going to need a lot of therapy and a lot of physical little emotional therapy for the long haul. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm upset that there's still 28 bodies that have not been released. [SPEAKER_08]: I think they're in the process, they're of, but that's a little, that that's always dicey. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm hoping the family's at least know that, that's at least something.

[SPEAKER_08]: I'm pretty sure the family's been notified and that's something. [SPEAKER_08]: So at least they're, I believe at this point now, there is a resolution for everybody who was missing from the initial October 7th attack. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's good. [SPEAKER_00]: That is good. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm glad for all the Palestinians that were released for what? [SPEAKER_08]: Yes, absolutely. [SPEAKER_08]: You know, for doing stupid stuff. [SPEAKER_08]: Some of it's hell.

[SPEAKER_08]: It's like, you know, the Israeli forces often times have been like ice. [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_08]: You're a TV journalist. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, and I'm not joking on that one either guys. [SPEAKER_08]: It's messed up. [SPEAKER_00]: But I know in 13-year-old kids, I mean, there's so much. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, absolutely. [SPEAKER_08]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_08]: That's.

[SPEAKER_08]: We're glad for peace, we're glad that we're glad, we're glad, but this isn't peace in the sense that peace is long term. [SPEAKER_08]: Peace isn't something that it stops today. [SPEAKER_08]: Didn't we have a ceasefire 10 months ago, Joni? [SPEAKER_08]: I do recall that, yes. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, matter of fact, it was 10 months ago on a 15th on Wednesday.

[SPEAKER_08]: It will literally have been 10 months ago when Joe Biden and some of the Middle Eastern people that were involved signed ceasefire courts. [SPEAKER_08]: And they stopped shooting for all of five or six weeks or at least they stopped officially shooting. [SPEAKER_08]: and they stopped officially dropping bombs and things officially. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, and it didn't, uh, Donald just say that Cutter is going to have an air force basin Idaho.

[SPEAKER_08]: You know, I've been looking into that. [SPEAKER_08]: And the thing is is that it's a training facility. [SPEAKER_08]: It's not. [SPEAKER_08]: We actually have training facilities with a lot of of foreign nations. [SPEAKER_00]: That's not a problem. [SPEAKER_00]: But Cutter don't they fund people like Thomas?

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, some of them, yeah, but cutters also the cutters, the Sweden Switzerland, the Switzerland of the Middle East, the, you know, not necessarily, you know, that everybody goes to them because they talk to everybody, but they talk to everybody because, you know, my other things, they actually would like to do business and not have wars and things, which

[SPEAKER_08]: when we bombed cutter to try and oh we're trying to get him awesome and they're like I don't care who you're trying to get you don't do that in our country no and I I agree with that like seriously dude right that's what are stupid pieces great [SPEAKER_08]: but this isn't peace it's a ceasefire. [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly until we have a real peace agreement which we do not because Hamas doesn't want to do certain things and neither does that's in the house. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, right.

[SPEAKER_08]: So, yeah, and yeah, and he doesn't want to do certain things because he knows if it's actually a true peace. [SPEAKER_08]: his piece is but he's going to go to of trial and probably jail for the rest of his life and didn't don't just ask everybody to pardon him he just asked the president of Israel they they have a parliamentary system so they have a prime minister in a president and today in Donnie's ridiculousness he you know he's giving this speech to the [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_08]: Absolutely not a professional thing to do. [SPEAKER_08]: It's a very dictatorial, very authoritarian, very king-like, if you will, yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: Except we don't do kings here. [SPEAKER_08]: Yep. [SPEAKER_08]: So, and they don't do them. [SPEAKER_08]: They're either. [SPEAKER_08]: That's, they don't have a royalty system. [SPEAKER_08]: They have a parliamentary system.

[SPEAKER_08]: Which, you know, for those of you who, you know, either know somebody in Israel or, you know, maybe you're listening in Israel, I realize coming from the United States, we don't have much to talk about right now in that sense, but please, we'll try to fix our government, you do the same, you know. [SPEAKER_08]: Yep, we aim to please, you aim to please. [SPEAKER_08]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_08]: Just, just one of those things we say around here at the Baltics bar, it happens to be true and multiple ways.

[SPEAKER_08]: so there is a lot of news today in the news on tap which by the way thank you for subscribing if you have a subscribe to the free news on tap which you can do at the politics bar dot com uh... we talked about already in the first round of digits people's day a little bit and uh... no kings day obviously uh... that's coming up here this Saturday [SPEAKER_08]: But the Trump Republican shutdown is still every day 13 days now and tiny Johnson is still pitching and moaning about it.

[SPEAKER_08]: So are the other people on it's there's some actual real real pressure going on right now. [SPEAKER_08]: But it's not on Democrats because Democrats still have it right. [SPEAKER_08]: Do you realize that of the last 14 weeks? [SPEAKER_08]: Do you know what, I didn't, this isn't included. [SPEAKER_08]: I don't think in any of the pieces that we're in there today, Jody, but do you know how many weeks that the house has actually been in session out of the last 14?

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to go with three. [SPEAKER_08]: Four, pretty close. [SPEAKER_00]: Four, okay. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm surprised. [SPEAKER_00]: It was that many. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, well, I know because it's tiny, it's tiny, it's tiny Johnson, it's. [SPEAKER_08]: But yeah, four weeks are the last 14. [SPEAKER_00]: I'd love that job and they make what $180,000 a year. [SPEAKER_08]: 186,000 something. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I want that job. [SPEAKER_08]: Thing is, is that, that A, we have integrity.

[SPEAKER_08]: So, so, they'd be like, you integrity? [SPEAKER_08]: Sorry, you two can have that job. [SPEAKER_08]: You, Jody, come on. [SPEAKER_00]: That's a great gig if you can get it. [SPEAKER_08]: Also, we actually like to work. [SPEAKER_00]: I do. [SPEAKER_00]: I enjoy work. [SPEAKER_08]: Right, exactly. [SPEAKER_08]: Again, and they'd be like, look, have integrity and you work. [SPEAKER_08]: Are you kidding? [SPEAKER_00]: Aren't the Dems still in DC?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yep. [SPEAKER_08]: So they're ready to go to work. [SPEAKER_08]: There is there are a couple of stories today in the news on tap that you should look at because Democrats have been trying to actually get things done.

[SPEAKER_08]: uh... they've been um... even though republicans are a charge of these pro-form sessions they've been trying to get things in their get bills to get the the military past now uh... the trump administration announced that they will use defense department r and d funds to temporarily pay troops so that way tiny johnson can still keep the republicans in congress from actually having to do anything [SPEAKER_08]: Also, it means that he's still keeping Adelaide Rojava from being... Yes.

[SPEAKER_08]: Uh-huh. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: Which also conveniently means that, oh, darn it, they just can't get that Epstein petition through. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: We all see you tiny Johnson. [SPEAKER_08]: I realize it might take a microscope, but we still see you. [SPEAKER_08]: So, just say it. [SPEAKER_08]: All right, it is a Monday night, Jody and I are hanging out with you here at the politics bar.

[SPEAKER_08]: We have a lot more news on Tap stock about we have a, um, it's a drink that echoes through the ages. [SPEAKER_08]: Let's, let's just say that you don't have to be a Baron to understand this one.

[SPEAKER_08]: I know I know I know I know for those of you who actually are subscribed to the drink of the day You know what I'm talking about and for those of you who are not you should check it out and subscribe At the politics bar dot com all right more news on tap drink the day come an up Brooklyn dad to find it Thanks for joining us here at the politics bar on his Monday night We'll be right back after we pay some bills at the politics bar

[SPEAKER_08]: it's a Monday night here at the politics bar we are very glad you are joining us for wherever you happen to be and whatever you happen to be wearing although frankly we think you should wearings and politics bar gear stuff some some gear maybe you have a flash and maybe a glass and politics bar logo on it fronting it of course the t-shirts we think are really great especially the one that says joney is right actually we have two of those you can check them all out

[SPEAKER_08]: go to the politicsbar.com, click on store, you can go through all our store and find whatever gear works for you, check it out and remember, the proceeds from that go to help Jody and I do things like each and you know, make drinks and that's kind of important. [SPEAKER_00]: And feed my cat. [SPEAKER_08]: And feed my dog. [SPEAKER_08]: Right. [SPEAKER_08]: So look, check it out the politicsbar.com. [SPEAKER_00]: We're going to need to share it with Daisy on it at this point.

[SPEAKER_08]: I'm fine with that because she's, you know, constantly, you know, walking in front of the [SPEAKER_08]: Look, we are progressing on the video thing here, but there's some issues with Google as well, which whatever it's, you gotta fight with Google sometimes, and eventually, sometimes you do win a little bit. [SPEAKER_08]: But I am glad the Democrats are fighting on this shutdown. [SPEAKER_08]: Yes. [SPEAKER_08]: And I am glad that they are starting to loop in a lot more.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yes, the healthcare point was important. [SPEAKER_08]: And the whole show that Democrats are winning on the healthcare point, which great. [SPEAKER_08]: But. [SPEAKER_08]: there's also the point that we've made here for weeks now three weeks, yeah, about three weeks, which is that you cannot trust Republicans to make a deal and stick with it. [SPEAKER_08]: And until Democrats can get Republicans to sign on and say no resisions, no whatever, no deal.

[SPEAKER_08]: But because you can't, it doesn't, it doesn't make any sense to try to make a deal with people [SPEAKER_08]: their signature isn't worth the paper it's written on right what's the point right right you were saying you've heard uh... you've heard some more i heard earlier today came jaffrey's on this mbc talking to kd turn [SPEAKER_00]: I heard, uh, I believe this is Mark Kelly and others are talking about it now.

[SPEAKER_08]: So yeah, look, that's that's part of the reason we've got a couple of pieces today in the news on tap at politicsbar.com, uh, one from Jason Lincoln's and one from Jonathan Cohen, um, uh, and I remember Lincoln's is over at the New Republic, um, we're left leaning. [SPEAKER_08]: Jonathan Cohen is over at the bulwark, more right leaning, and they're both basically saying the same thing is that it is pointless for Democrats to negotiate a shutdown deal right now.

[SPEAKER_08]: And Democrats must continue to demand and talk about the fact that until Republicans are honest and say no resisions, no backroom deals, no ways to cut around this, no no no giving rust. [SPEAKER_08]: In fact, take the reins of power out of Rustvott's hand. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, because well, you saw, did you see the whole arc of the weekend with Rustvott and the CDC?

[SPEAKER_08]: That was the most aftop thing yeah so weekend for those of you missed it We've got some stories on that in the news on tap as well. [SPEAKER_08]: It does happen to be in that second round segment It's called the Trump Republican shutdown drags on but So Friday night.

[SPEAKER_08]: Russ fought is like screw you guys I'm gonna do whatever I want and start firing a bunch of people which remember as Rebecca Buckwell Proposal said he can't do [SPEAKER_08]: But he's doing it anyway, fired like a thousand people alone from the CDC. [SPEAKER_08]: Saturday morning, I guess, some of the folks at CDC who got quote-unquote fired, rift as they call it, reduction in force. [SPEAKER_08]: It's a quote-unquote layoff except we're not really going to hire you back.

[SPEAKER_08]: Well, that's called firing. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: Anyway, they got emails. [SPEAKER_08]: They're like, yeah, that email that you got yesterday evening that said that we were firing you, we lied because we really need you. [SPEAKER_08]: And so please come back to work Monday except [SPEAKER_00]: the incompetence is the only reason we're being saved. [SPEAKER_08]: Mm-hmm. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, half-ashism is that's because it's half-ashism and not full-fashism.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's the only reason that we're not where we could be right now. [SPEAKER_00]: Mm-hmm. [SPEAKER_00]: Cause he ain't Hitler. [SPEAKER_08]: No, God no. [SPEAKER_08]: God no. [SPEAKER_00]: Hitler was smart. [SPEAKER_08]: Hitler was smart. [SPEAKER_08]: He had a lot of smart people around him. [SPEAKER_08]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_08]: And that's scary. [SPEAKER_08]: Donald Trump has a lot of people who are like him.

[SPEAKER_08]: Eagle maniacal, self-centered, and kind of stupid, not realizing, oh my god, okay, I got to play this for you. [SPEAKER_08]: I saw this clip over the weekend here. [SPEAKER_08]: May was this morning, I can't remember which. [SPEAKER_00]: It's hard to remember anymore. [SPEAKER_08]: Some days it is, some days it absolutely is. [SPEAKER_08]: So Secretary Basins, Treasury Secretary. [SPEAKER_08]: It's trying to somehow blame the shutdown on the no kings march.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, that was planned months ago. [SPEAKER_08]: I know we'll talk. [SPEAKER_08]: Hang here. [SPEAKER_08]: Let me just play this off the DVR. [SPEAKER_08]: This is just weird. [SPEAKER_09]: It's in fact they are waiting for this no kings protest. [SPEAKER_09]: No kings means no paychecks.

[SPEAKER_09]: No paychecks and no government, and Maria, I think the dirty secret here for why this is dragged on for so long is the democratic friends in the mainstream media have been downplaying the shutdown and this is getting serious is starting to affect the real economy is starting to affect people's lives. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, the number of the number of crap in there that was lies your right is is my no, but yes, we have no king.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's no paychecks So he's pro king [SPEAKER_00]: So that means he hates America, like Michael Johnson says that that's what the protests are about. [SPEAKER_08]: When you live, if you live under a governmental system where there is a king or a dictator, they don't have to pay you. [SPEAKER_08]: No. [SPEAKER_08]: So having a king actually means no paycheck. [SPEAKER_08]: Having a democracy means that you live under a [SPEAKER_08]: So no king's means paycheck.

[SPEAKER_08]: Oh, oh, oh. [SPEAKER_08]: Except, Bessant says no, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, just like Michael Johnson, tiny Johnson saying that, you know, it's a America rally. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like, well, okay, so Michael, do you want a king? [SPEAKER_00]: Well, he does. [SPEAKER_08]: I mean, he's also, he's a Johnson. [SPEAKER_08]: Look, tiny Johnson is all in favor of somebody controlling him. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, we know that. [SPEAKER_00]: Consumable.

[SPEAKER_00]: Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

[SPEAKER_08]: It's just a made up label. [SPEAKER_08]: But if you want to say, okay, well, what does it mean? [SPEAKER_08]: Well, the meaning is a shortening of anti-fascist. [SPEAKER_08]: So if you are against anti-fascism, then that means you are pro-fascism. [SPEAKER_08]: So right, so those people who are against anti-fascism are pro-fascism, or pro-fascism. [SPEAKER_00]: And also apparently, we're all supposed to get paid on Saturday by George Soros.

[SPEAKER_08]: Even though I don't know if I got it. [SPEAKER_00]: Even if he gave us each five dollars, it could bankrupt him every time we do this. [SPEAKER_08]: There's a story that I actually had that wasn't even in the news on Tapidix because we didn't ever really was there was too much to do where they actually found.

[SPEAKER_08]: I can't remember which government agency found this, but they actually found that they did a study and they found that sources organization was not in fact is not in fact paying everybody on the left as they claim. [SPEAKER_00]: No, you know who got paid? [SPEAKER_00]: The Aster Turf Tea Party people. [SPEAKER_00]: Mm-hmm. [SPEAKER_08]: Yes. [SPEAKER_08]: Jody is right. [SPEAKER_00]: That's why they keep saying that because they knew that you bring 300 people in.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can pay 300 people 10, 15, 20, 100 bucks. [SPEAKER_00]: That's cheap. [SPEAKER_08]: And remember, they did, in fact, it first called themselves tea baggers, so let's just be honest and make sure that we also call them tea baggers, even though we, that means something. [SPEAKER_08]: That's very nice. [SPEAKER_08]: Hey, they want to be called tea baggers. [SPEAKER_08]: I'm just on. [SPEAKER_00]: I've seen how do it to Stephanie. [SPEAKER_00]: So there's that.

[SPEAKER_08]: But yeah, you got to remember folks, we are on the positive side of this one. [SPEAKER_08]: And we are on the positive side of the shutdown, because remember, the Democrats have three simple asks. [SPEAKER_08]: One, if we make a deal with you Republicans in Congress and Donald Trump, you are not going to renege on the deal. [SPEAKER_08]: You are not right.

[SPEAKER_08]: Cheat. [SPEAKER_08]: If Democrats cannot get that first condition, [SPEAKER_08]: Because if they don't get that first condition, and they say, oh, okay, fine, Republicans will say, sure, we agree to give you back all that money for the ACA and give you back the money for Medicare and Medicaid, and they don't agree to hold to the deal. [SPEAKER_08]: You guarantee that by 24 hours after the ink is dried on signing that bill.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yep. [SPEAKER_08]: You're gonna have Russ Vott pushing the people in Congress to go back and cut all that stuff right back out. [SPEAKER_00]: Of course. [SPEAKER_08]: So. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't even think magic would be cool at that [SPEAKER_08]: Well, that's the other thing. [SPEAKER_08]: So you've got, you know, Tiny Johnson is getting a lot of pressure from all sides on this. [SPEAKER_08]: He is it's not just as you noted before, the Democrats are here in the DC area of the bar.

[SPEAKER_08]: They're here. [SPEAKER_08]: They're trying to get stuff in even though when Republicans do what's called a pro-forma session. [SPEAKER_08]: I know what it is. [SPEAKER_08]: I think you know what it is. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, I don't know that everybody knows what a pro-forma session is. [SPEAKER_00]: Just kind of govel in and govel up. [SPEAKER_08]: Proformer session works like this.

[SPEAKER_08]: Normally, when you do a normal session of the house, you govl in, you say things like, you know, is there business for the day, and then you start with one minute speeches, and there's a whole procedure to go through. [SPEAKER_08]: When they do a proformer session, they're gavl in and while they're gavling in, they basically say, this is proformer session. [SPEAKER_08]: We're not really going to be here. [SPEAKER_08]: We're going to be here.

[SPEAKER_08]: We're going to have a look at them. [SPEAKER_08]: Right. [SPEAKER_08]: It's turning on the lights for two seconds and going, hope I stuck my head in the room. [SPEAKER_08]: I was here, then turning lights up. [SPEAKER_08]: That's a pro-former session. [SPEAKER_08]: But Democrats are still there, still trying to get a word in Edgewise, still trying to make sure that they get funding for military and for WIC, and for SNAP.

[SPEAKER_08]: Democrats are still here trying to get things done. [SPEAKER_08]: Democrats are here willing to negotiate. [SPEAKER_08]: So anytime you hear Republicans do, [SPEAKER_04]: The line to you. [SPEAKER_08]: Of course, there. [SPEAKER_08]: And of course, this is if the mainstream media talks better at all because right now all day today, they're just, you know, kissing Donald Trump's butt. [SPEAKER_08]: They're they're they're doing what how did to Stephanie, but with Donald.

[SPEAKER_08]: I very definitely evaded actual discussions of that, but Lindsey Graham knows what I'm talking about. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, he knows we know he wreck balls until Don comes until the dawn came up. [SPEAKER_00]: He wreck balls. [SPEAKER_00]: We know that. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, there's already you exactly. [SPEAKER_08]: And, you know, we've heard Donald say that he loves going golfing with Lindsey. [SPEAKER_08]: Lindsey is one of his favorite ball washers.

[SPEAKER_08]: I'm just saying, you know, you don't want to do whatever it's, you know, we do not have a problem with that. [SPEAKER_08]: We just have a problem with people who aren't honest about it and make laws trying to be against it. [SPEAKER_08]: Which by the way, I was really glad did you see the two minutes video that's wrong now I'm Danny did over the weekend. [SPEAKER_00]: I did not. [SPEAKER_00]: I heard about though.

[SPEAKER_08]: It's a fantastic video, basically saying that as Democrats, it should not even be up for debate. [SPEAKER_08]: We are here to protect the rights of our trans brothers and sisters, which damn right. [SPEAKER_08]: Amen. [SPEAKER_08]: So yeah, I was really proud of that because look, when they come from one of us, they come for all of us.

[SPEAKER_08]: We've seen this whether they start by coming by somebody who is LGBTQ, whether they start by coming for somebody who is Jewish or black or Hispanic or Asian or Native American when they come for one of us. [SPEAKER_08]: They never stop. [SPEAKER_00]: We all read the poem. [SPEAKER_08]: Hatred for them is like lays potato chips. [SPEAKER_08]: They can't just eat one. [SPEAKER_00]: They just don't understand it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I just, it's like, [SPEAKER_00]: I don't, I don't get it, it's like, what is your problem? [SPEAKER_00]: I don't go to the hellscape that is next door. [SPEAKER_08]: The next door app, yes, next door from here is fine. [SPEAKER_08]: But next door, the app, that's different, right? [SPEAKER_00]: Don't go to that. [SPEAKER_00]: It's not, it's a whole, every now and then, it's like, oh, I found a kitty, go find a kitty.

[SPEAKER_00]: So that's nice, but nine times out of ten because I live in Los Angeles, so the hate governor, [SPEAKER_00]: not like he hasn't heard that literally his whole freaking I'm sure he's been hearing it since he was a wea little wea little kid.

[SPEAKER_00]: Um but it's just like y'all are so boring because there's a whole thing that's happened that he just signed into a bill that allows multi unit housing to go up in areas that are near massive transit okay right mass transit needs look that one of the problems that

[SPEAKER_00]: is that the zoning has been too restrictive for far too long and they need to have a lot more but properly done but okay so there's an empty lot that has been two houses down from me for almost five years right right and so everybody's freaking out because we're

[SPEAKER_00]: There's a bus stop literally two tons of a mile this way and another one a half a mile that way or quarter mile that way and then I looked it up and like we're not in the zone because this is all local it's not mass transit it's local transit.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, the law is what they're trying to do is not every bus stop, but they're trying to get, like, um, major, major, major, like metro areas, uh, the bus ways and so, and I'm like, I even looked at the, the right wingers that were showing the maps up, I'm like, Lonnie, we're not even in there. [SPEAKER_00]: Why is everybody freaking out? [SPEAKER_08]: Right. [SPEAKER_08]: People are not paying attention to all the details.

[SPEAKER_08]: I am very glad though that somebody was paying attention to details and that video over the weekend. [SPEAKER_08]: Democratic National Committee Chair Ken Martin. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_08]: Zoron, I'm Danny. [SPEAKER_08]: The New York Mayor always. [SPEAKER_00]: Finally. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, look, it's it honestly a long past time, but I'm glad Ken did it. [SPEAKER_08]: It would be nice if, you know, a keen would do it and it's coming to it.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's coming. [SPEAKER_08]: I would hope so. [SPEAKER_08]: I mean, it's way freaking overdue. [SPEAKER_08]: That's what I mean. [SPEAKER_00]: I know the DNC has no control over anything when it comes to local politics, but they might be able to throw them some money. [SPEAKER_08]: And at least they can throw some attention, which definitely is what Ken Martin is doing on that. [SPEAKER_08]: So big thanks to that. [SPEAKER_08]: There's some other elections going on.

[SPEAKER_08]: We'll talk about that too. [SPEAKER_08]: That is in the election land subject matter area. [SPEAKER_08]: Of the news on tap. [SPEAKER_08]: Look, it's sides Monday. [SPEAKER_08]: We're thirsty. [SPEAKER_08]: We use drink and use only history too, because I think people are not quite 100% aware of parallels to past history. [SPEAKER_08]: So we should be talking about that. [SPEAKER_08]: It's part of the drink of the day. [SPEAKER_08]: You want to do that next?

[SPEAKER_08]: Yes. [SPEAKER_08]: All right, we will freshen up your drink. [SPEAKER_08]: We will get you that drink of the day, Jody, and I, and then we got Brooklyn Dad Defiant coming in and more news of the day. [SPEAKER_08]: Thank you for hanging out with us here at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_08]: on the night here at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_08]: You got you, Jodie. [SPEAKER_08]: You got you me, Sean. [SPEAKER_08]: And we got you.

[SPEAKER_08]: Thank you, by the way, for all of you who interact with us on all of our different social media, wherever you happen to be coming in from, uh, you know, we are on loose guy, we're on threads, we're on Instagram, Facebook, Substack, and Twitter. [SPEAKER_08]: You know what I find is we are there at the politics of bar.

[SPEAKER_08]: Of course, you can also leave a message on the voicemail 2136777728 that is 21367777 7258 213677 salt like in your Margarini leave a message sometimes you just take the messages and sometimes if it's a good message Hey, we'll bring you here into the bar and we'll let you talk to everybody else. [SPEAKER_08]: We'll give you the mic because that's kind of how it works So there you go [SPEAKER_08]: by the way, Jody did get a couple of messages over the weekend.

[SPEAKER_08]: Your scano over on Blue Sky says he was very glad about the the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize. [SPEAKER_08]: Maria Carina Machado, but he says think about it and Tifa just won the Nobel Peace Prize. [SPEAKER_08]: Which? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but then she thanked Donald for it and thought he should have it. [SPEAKER_08]: She's she's been out of contact. [SPEAKER_08]: She has exactly had internet for, you know, solid communications for wild. [SPEAKER_08]: I don't know.

[SPEAKER_08]: Look, the fact of the matter is she's allowed upon her to the fascist governments of Hugo Chavez and Nicholas Maduro. [SPEAKER_08]: So, you know, she is against fascism there and perception of people from everything that I keep seeing. [SPEAKER_08]: From people around the world is different about Donald Trump [SPEAKER_08]: Just like, we all who have lived here for, you know, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40 years or more. [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, life?

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: We know the problems that are here. [SPEAKER_08]: But there are still a lot of places in the world that still see America as this beacon. [SPEAKER_08]: And then you're like, dude, it hasn't been that wonderful place like that. [SPEAKER_08]: I can't remember how long. [SPEAKER_08]: 1960s and 1970s and even then there were problems. [SPEAKER_00]: There are always problems. [SPEAKER_00]: It's not, it's not the greatest country on the planet.

[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry kids, but it's just not. [SPEAKER_08]: I think it's always been the country that has had the greatest potential. [SPEAKER_00]: There you go. [SPEAKER_00]: That's that exactly. [SPEAKER_08]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_08]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_00]: Sean is right. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_00]: That is exactly what it is. [SPEAKER_00]: It has the potential of being an amazing country. [SPEAKER_08]: But oftentimes, we leave everyone else. [SPEAKER_08]: Just a point, Dad!

[SPEAKER_08]: Because we don't meet up to our potential. [SPEAKER_08]: And that's just the very basic truth of it. [SPEAKER_00]: And we are also a really young country still. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: We're a baby.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: My father, when he would deal with some of the Chinese businessman, it was always very interesting because, you know, they get in discussions about some of the history and things [SPEAKER_08]: And they're like, yeah, we've got history, written history, non-pictigraphic history that goes back eight thousand. [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_08]: So yeah, 250 compared to eight thousand. [SPEAKER_00]: We're a baby country.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: So we're still, we're still like barely toddlers at this point. [SPEAKER_00]: So we're so trying to walk and talk and chew gum and stuff. [SPEAKER_08]: and drink and not spill it all over ourselves. [SPEAKER_08]: Which kind of brings us to the drink of the day, which was God. [SPEAKER_08]: It's interesting. [SPEAKER_08]: We could have done an indigenous person's drink of the day, but do that tomorrow. [SPEAKER_08]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_08]: Okay. [SPEAKER_08]: But I do think the drink of the day today is a good reminder of why we don't want kings or emperors for that matter. [SPEAKER_08]: Johnny, what is the drink of the day? [SPEAKER_00]: The drink of the day today is called [SPEAKER_08]: a Rome with ag, got it right. [SPEAKER_00]: And that is because of this is the day that Emperor Nero became the Emperor of Roma, October 13th, 54 C. A. D. Yeah, common era.

[SPEAKER_08]: Also known as AD depends on which any one, but it's the same thing. [SPEAKER_00]: Or AD, I think they call it that. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: Also October 13th is my aunt Carol's birthday. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's also Tim Conway Junior's birthday. [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, hey happy birthday to him too. [SPEAKER_08]: So see some good birthdays today, but also yeah with narrow You read into the history like we did for this and and I you don't deeper than I did.

[SPEAKER_08]: Well, you don't pretty need to but I added to it. [SPEAKER_08]: Um, because [SPEAKER_08]: baby. [SPEAKER_08]: And his mom was really the one who was in control of it. [SPEAKER_00]: And she wanted to control it. [SPEAKER_00]: She just was like, oh, put him there and then I'll do that. [SPEAKER_08]: Right. [SPEAKER_08]: I'll just do it.

[SPEAKER_08]: Which she did for a while until he got a little bit older and then yeah, but hit the, the, the, [SPEAKER_08]: to say his life was dramatic. [SPEAKER_08]: He is an absolute understatement. [SPEAKER_08]: And they did, like we think of today, like when you think of an adoption, you think of it as for life. [SPEAKER_08]: You adopt a cat, you adopt a dog, you adopt a kid, you adopt a whatever.

[SPEAKER_08]: Right. [SPEAKER_08]: Then I know they would adopt an unadopt and changed last names. [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, your name is a men and women. [SPEAKER_08]: Everybody's changing names. [SPEAKER_08]: Adopt and changing families. [SPEAKER_00]: He's a trans. [SPEAKER_08]: It is fluid, it is fluid, a relation fluid, and narrow, there's a lot that's been written about him that's been negative.

[SPEAKER_08]: The most of the history that's been written about him was basically from three people who had bone to pick with him and they wanted to make sure that he didn't necessarily look good. [SPEAKER_08]: But even if you don't, even if you only believe half the stuff, he was awful. [SPEAKER_08]: He was always, he was, if you gave Baron Trump the power of the presidency at his [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, you know, he's going to be that on a board of TikTok.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: The US version of TikTok, which he's 19. [SPEAKER_08]: He has no reason to be on a boy. [SPEAKER_08]: There are people on the right who are comparing going, oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: Well, Hunter Biden was a lawyer. [SPEAKER_00]: Went to college full time.

[SPEAKER_08]: an experienced lawyer had already gotten his law degree had to believe worked in practice that's at least seven years of school been on the boards of some companies before he was on the board of brismos so yes hunter Biden happened to actually have life experience and education he was in our team when this happened [SPEAKER_08]: Right. [SPEAKER_08]: But Nero was barely 60 years. [SPEAKER_08]: He was almost 17 when he was given basically the reins to all of Rome.

[SPEAKER_08]: And yet he had a couple of advisors while his mom was pretty much running things. [SPEAKER_08]: Burris and Seneca that did a lot of, did they did some good stuff? [SPEAKER_08]: Kind of like in Trump's first term, when people are like, the car rails is all bad. [SPEAKER_08]: Right. [SPEAKER_08]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_08]: Jody is right.

[SPEAKER_08]: But then, [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, then, well, his tyrannical brutality came out and he did things like kill his mom and his lovely his first wife Octavia was supposed to him even though he didn't necessarily ask where it when he was 15. [SPEAKER_08]: So he killed her because he there there are disputes as to whether he killed his second wife and and whether he killed his step brother.

[SPEAKER_08]: But he also did things like he he was an actor at a poet and a musician and a charioteer which basically he did on that [SPEAKER_08]: Okay. [SPEAKER_08]: He cheated on all kinds of stuff. [SPEAKER_08]: You guys can read the full thing on that. [SPEAKER_08]: The weirdest thing that I thought of all of this. [SPEAKER_08]: So by the way, Neuro did end up finally the Senate came to their senses, notice the Senate came to their senses in Rome when the economy collapsed.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then he murdered at the killed himself. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, because they had given a death sentence, but the soldiers who were around him were supposed to be carrying it out, they left him, he escaped out of Rome and then killed himself most likely that's. [SPEAKER_08]: But here's the thing, for all the horrible things that Nero did, started a civil war after he died. [SPEAKER_08]: I mean, this is bad stuff. [SPEAKER_08]: Guy was awful.

[SPEAKER_08]: And yet historians have found that while the educated people and the informed people reviled it nearo, pretty much buried him in history, um, the poor and the less educated, poorly educated, they left graffiti around the walls of Rome, and they left Nero's name more times than any other emperor.

[SPEAKER_08]: So, [SPEAKER_08]: If you guys think that just because we get rid of this jackass that all this is going to be done, that this is a lifelong thing, yes, it's going to be great to have the no Kings rally a second one this Saturday. [SPEAKER_08]: Yes. [SPEAKER_08]: But this is a marathon folks. [SPEAKER_08]: Yes, you need to be prepared for it. [SPEAKER_08]: So to be prepared, you need drinks. [SPEAKER_08]: That's one way to put it.

[SPEAKER_08]: Ain't a way going through this with that. [SPEAKER_00]: Not outside unless you live in New Orleans or Las Vegas. [SPEAKER_00]: You cannot have an outside drink. [SPEAKER_08]: unless you're, you know, in your own property, whatever. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's different on your own private property, but if you're at a rally in most states and most cities in this union, New Orleans will let you hold a drink, sold Vegas, but that's the only two I know about.

[SPEAKER_08]: I'm just saying no open container. [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_08]: How you figure that beyond that is up to you. [SPEAKER_08]: If you happen to have a container inside your inflatable dinosaur costume, that is entirely up to you. [SPEAKER_08]: But you might want to put this particular drink of the day in a journey.

[SPEAKER_00]: All right, you need, first off, not your cat, but you need a Collins glass, or I see she's just like, yeah, I was going to say, if you pour a drink into the cat, I don't think it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, she doesn't like alcohol. [SPEAKER_00]: She's smarter than most of us, um, the Collins or highball glass, Collins or highball glass and mice. [SPEAKER_00]: And then you need an ounce of compiling a cure.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a, yeah, it's the red stuff you've seen them in, in the bars, an ounce of [SPEAKER_00]: An ounce of fresh lime juice, three growers of an ounce of simple syrup. [SPEAKER_00]: Got it. [SPEAKER_00]: Some club soda, and the garnish is a lime wedge. [SPEAKER_00]: So what you do is you fill your glass with the ice. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the comparae, drivermouth lime juice, and simple syrup. [SPEAKER_00]: That's it. [SPEAKER_00]: Top it with the club soda and stir very gently.

[SPEAKER_08]: Stick the lime wedge on there. [SPEAKER_00]: And then you just stick it on. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a very easy drink to make and, by the way, because there's not a lot, there's no liquor in it. [SPEAKER_00]: This is just for sure. [SPEAKER_02]: This is just for sure. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: So let's go. [SPEAKER_00]: Let's go. [SPEAKER_00]: And same with Vermuth. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a licor.

[SPEAKER_00]: So the ABV is lower than a lot of drinks that we've done before, because there's no vodka or gin or anything in it. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: So for those people who are like, can we have a drink that's a little bit more like an probably 11, 12 ounces of booze versus like with a shot of vodka. [SPEAKER_00]: It's 40 ounces, 40, 80 proof. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's. [SPEAKER_00]: So this is much lower in ABV than any other drinks other than the sober ones that we've made.

[SPEAKER_00]: So it's, but still don't over drink it. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, don't don't overdo things. [SPEAKER_08]: Never. [SPEAKER_00]: If you're, you know, somebody like Nero or say somebody named Trump, just just... Well, and be careful, I just got some advice the other day about the No King's rally.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you are an American citizen, and you don't perhaps happen to have your passport or passport card or whatever on you at the time, just say, I'm an American citizen, I would like a lawyer if you're arrested. [SPEAKER_08]: and then don't say anything else. [SPEAKER_00]: And then say, I'm not answering any questions and I'm not signing anything. [SPEAKER_08]: Makes sense. [SPEAKER_08]: Sounds good. [SPEAKER_00]: This is my name.

[SPEAKER_08]: We will keep giving you guys more details on how to take care of yourselves at no kings rallies this week. [SPEAKER_08]: And of course, if you missed the drink of the day, you know what to do, just subscribe with the politics bar.com.

[SPEAKER_08]: All right, it was a little dive in a history, but I think it's kind of important, especially because some people might be hearing the right wingers make the comparison [SPEAKER_08]: I'm sorry, it's just, it's, it's really, really stupid to me. [SPEAKER_08]: Hunter Biden is his own person for God's sake, and he's doing his own thing. [SPEAKER_08]: And, you know, what the Trump's are doing with abusing the White House for money and everything, it is, it is, ain't nothing close.

[SPEAKER_08]: And, don't get me started a baron. [SPEAKER_00]: Now we can get on him because he's an adult. [SPEAKER_08]: He's legal. [SPEAKER_08]: He's of age. [SPEAKER_08]: He can make all the kinds of stupid decisions he wants. [SPEAKER_08]: He is no longer protected as a child. [SPEAKER_08]: Look, children are children should be off limits. [SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely, I agree with that. [SPEAKER_08]: Once you're enrolled, and especially once you're an adult, and you make dumb decisions.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you short the market to make $80 million? [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, there's some, there's some issues going to have to be looked at in the, uh, the next, uh, hopefully legitimate administration visits. [SPEAKER_08]: any of. [SPEAKER_08]: Look, we've got more news on tap. [SPEAKER_08]: They're all kinds of other things going on. [SPEAKER_08]: I realize we realize that the national news media has been all about the piece deal that isn't.

[SPEAKER_08]: We've been talking about all kinds of other things and there is still more news. [SPEAKER_08]: You may or may not have heard about some love. [SPEAKER_08]: We will talk about that coming up next hour here. [SPEAKER_08]: We also happen to have Brooklyn that to find coming into the bar. [SPEAKER_08]: Take a breath, just kind of chill out. [SPEAKER_08]: Maybe go check out the gear over at the politics bar store and then, you know, come on back. [SPEAKER_08]: We got more coming up.

[SPEAKER_08]: Look, if you need use of silly anywhere they are down the hall to the left, to the right, to the center, whatever. [SPEAKER_08]: As we say, you know, we end, please, you end, too, please. [SPEAKER_08]: And come on back. [SPEAKER_08]: Monday night, with Jody and me and you, here at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_01]: Let her call. [SPEAKER_05]: Thinking, ready call. [SPEAKER_06]: You think it's a fun way, but you want to buy the six bucks.

[SPEAKER_05]: Shotsmith, Pearson, showedy, Hamilton. [SPEAKER_00]: J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J-J. [SPEAKER_08]: how you doing? [SPEAKER_08]: It's Monday night. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm doing okay. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm doing okay. [SPEAKER_00]: We're going to the dog, you know, and I've been sleeping in our little pool house.

[SPEAKER_06]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: But tonight it's supposed to rain like crazy and we have it checked if there's leaks because it was built poorly in 1941. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And so I don't want to be woken up with like rain. [SPEAKER_08]: Look, I understand. [SPEAKER_08]: I understand. [SPEAKER_08]: Nobody likes to wake up in the wet spot. [SPEAKER_00]: That's a different wet spot.

[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, so the boy and I are going to sleep in the living room where we used to do it, and then he's picked up on Wednesday, so we'll go back into the guest house on Tuesday night so that Lonnie can have the run the house. [SPEAKER_00]: got it, got it. [SPEAKER_08]: How does Lonnie like working over at Steph's place this morning? [SPEAKER_00]: He had a lovely time. [SPEAKER_00]: He's going to learn some more stuff.

[SPEAKER_00]: I did not watch it, but it didn't sound like anybody was mad, so that's good. [SPEAKER_08]: I listened to, I was busy doing other things with my eyes, so I did not watch either. [SPEAKER_00]: No, they were so cute. [SPEAKER_00]: They were like, it's bring your husband to work day and Lonnie came on me, because technically I'm working now, so it's bring your wife to work day. [SPEAKER_06]: Ooh, well played, Lonnie.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's not Ron. [SPEAKER_00]: because I don't technically work there unless I'm working. [SPEAKER_00]: So, what a Tuesday not working. [SPEAKER_08]: You're the guest. [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: It's bring your wife to work day. [SPEAKER_08]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_08]: Which, you know, that's not bad. [SPEAKER_08]: Although honestly, all I will say is, I don't believe that Steph happens to have or a refrigerator box like Bob and Kimberly.

[SPEAKER_08]: So, you know, just saying, because keep that at home. [SPEAKER_08]: Maybe it makes me want to be on tomorrow. [SPEAKER_00]: So, there's that whole thing. [SPEAKER_08]: You know, there are so many things that I could say right now. [SPEAKER_00]: No, actually, I said the line is to just put your head in. [SPEAKER_00]: Once you get the shot, it's so easy. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, he says hello, Jodie Hamilton. [SPEAKER_00]: And he just climb in there. [SPEAKER_00]: They'll be funny.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, obviously, yep, kind of. [SPEAKER_00]: It'd be funny. [SPEAKER_08]: It'll be fun. [SPEAKER_08]: It'll be fun, thank for you guys, to watch and to listen to tomorrow morning. [SPEAKER_08]: By the way, thank you to everybody who is coming into us and listening from wherever you happen to be coming in from, whether that happens to be AM-950 and Minneapolis Saint Paul. [SPEAKER_08]: Maybe you're listening to the detour talk in Tennessee.

[SPEAKER_08]: Maybe you're listening on AM-820 Chicago WCPT, or maybe you're listening to progressive voices radio worldwide.

[SPEAKER_08]: every happen to be or maybe you're listening on the podcast in which case I have no idea what time it is or what the weather is like there although we're in a few minutes after the hour yeah I mentioned this I mentioned this um so we have these trees across from the apartment building where my wife and I and our pup live and every year it's the same it's there there is

[SPEAKER_08]: this one tree that's across the street used to be two one of them got kind of ill and they kind of down but the the one tree is still there pretty healthy pretty big tree and overnight it goes [SPEAKER_08]: from green to whatever color this year. [SPEAKER_02]: It's ready. [SPEAKER_08]: It's kind of cool. [SPEAKER_08]: It's kind of cool, but I kind of call that tree day because that is it's it's the day where you know, congratulations, the second part of autumn has begun.

[SPEAKER_08]: Now see, I'm a very big fan of the first part of autumn. [SPEAKER_08]: The first part of autumn is my favorite because it's one day's cool nights. [SPEAKER_08]: you know, the trees really haven't quite turned yet, it's it's like summer, but without the bugs in the heat. [SPEAKER_08]: So, you know, certain places in California, you know, well experienced in that kind of weather, it's not bad. [SPEAKER_08]: Also, you know, don't have to worry about landslides and fires here.

[SPEAKER_08]: So, but anyway, for our question, exactly exactly. [SPEAKER_08]: But I mean, you know, it's it's generally, you know, it's a nice kind of thing when I lived in South Dakota when I was in college. [SPEAKER_08]: I had a similar experience. [SPEAKER_08]: That was before the worst winter to record the history. [SPEAKER_08]: Where, but okay, so that week started with temperatures in the 80s. [SPEAKER_08]: This was 1997, 1996, 96, fall of 96.

[SPEAKER_08]: Temperature in the 80s of leave, upper 70s, a very warm, [SPEAKER_08]: I still I still remember Tuesday of that week was like second second third week in October and I was like Hey man, this is crazy. [SPEAKER_08]: The trees hadn't changed. [SPEAKER_08]: Things were still green. [SPEAKER_08]: I was like, okay Let's have fun. [SPEAKER_08]: I'm like, well, I'm enjoying this weather. [SPEAKER_08]: This is great.

[SPEAKER_08]: And the next day I came out to go to class And literally every single tree there was a deciduous tree every single, you know, regular tree not the evergreen They all changed overnight. [SPEAKER_08]: It's like somebody sent the message and boom [SPEAKER_08]: all of them. [SPEAKER_08]: It was like, oh, wow. [SPEAKER_08]: And that was, I believe, Wednesday.

[SPEAKER_08]: And then Thursday, I believe the, the, um, the rain started, and it was about a half an inch to an inch of of rain, and then it was ice, and then it was a snowpack, and that lasted until March. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, this is as cold as.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, but yeah, there's a reason that I only lived one year in [SPEAKER_00]: There was an autumn in Denver, it was after Halloween, because that's usually the first note, at least when I live there, and then I was literally seeing a friend of mine, my roommate actually in his band. [SPEAKER_00]: who's a guitar player, it's his birthday today. [SPEAKER_08]: Um, a lot of good things. [SPEAKER_00]: I just remember stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm weird.

[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, and so I went to go see the guys do band practice. [SPEAKER_00]: And so I walk into their place. [SPEAKER_00]: It was 75 degrees outside when I walked in. [SPEAKER_00]: Uh-huh. [SPEAKER_00]: I was there for three hours. [SPEAKER_00]: It was 40 degrees when I walked out. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: By the time I got up in the morning, it was minus nine. [SPEAKER_08]: Yep. [SPEAKER_08]: Welcome Denver.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: For those who are listening in Denver, you guys know. [SPEAKER_08]: They understand. [SPEAKER_08]: Yep. [SPEAKER_08]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: If you don't like the weather, wait five minutes. [SPEAKER_08]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_08]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_08]: That is also kind of the the motto for Nebraska. [SPEAKER_00]: That sounds familiar. [SPEAKER_08]: Exactly.

[SPEAKER_08]: There is a lot going on in the news on tap, which by the way you guys should you should subscribe to it. [SPEAKER_08]: It's free. [SPEAKER_08]: You can get it at the politicsbar.com. [SPEAKER_08]: Of course, honestly, today we were talking about happy indigenous peoples day and we will talk a little bit more with Julie Franchella who is going to

[SPEAKER_08]: tomorrow night for that uh... we also happen to have frantula on Wednesday leigh a greenberg of indivisible will be getting you prepped and ready for the no kings rallies this weekend and uh... you know we've got a regular as well bob and john karen and anita and brookland at a find coming in here fairly soon at some point uh... trumps war on america continue to over the weekend but he happened to get socked a little bit in the face on this one and i'm kind of glad about the

[SPEAKER_08]: Uh, if you guys missed it out there, um, the federal appeals court blocks Trump from deploying the National Guard in Illinois now, uh, that's still kind of pending, but basically he blocked them from being deployed.

[SPEAKER_08]: He said that the text National Guard's people had to stay in their little area where their bivouac to there, um, but also then some of the Texas National Guard people were sent home because as you noticed the other day, Jody, they weren't to meeting up to, uh, [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but because you know why they're they're not even supposed to be deployed right right exactly He's right there. [SPEAKER_00]: What weekends at the months a weekend once a month.

[SPEAKER_08]: I'm sorry on a weekend Yep once a month and then two weeks out of here. [SPEAKER_08]: Yep and and and look I mean some of these jobs are just you know Sitting in computer doing things. [SPEAKER_08]: It's it's not it is not the same kind of thing as as but but of course Keg breath is or anyway [SPEAKER_08]: I'm glad that some Republican governors and some other systems.

[SPEAKER_07]: Yes. [SPEAKER_08]: We have a good piece of happens to be in news on tap from Gabrielle Gurley over the American prospects. [SPEAKER_08]: Talking about how some of these Republican governors even were really standing up alongside Pritzker. [SPEAKER_08]: And we're saying, hey man, this is this is not acceptable. [SPEAKER_08]: Kevin Stitt. [SPEAKER_08]: Remember who we talked about him, the governor of Oklahoma?

[SPEAKER_08]: Um, he said literally his quote was Oklahoma's with lose their mind of Pritzker and Illinois sent troops down to Oklahoma during the Biden ministry. [SPEAKER_08]: And I don't say this often, but Governor Stit was correct. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, that's the way that and you realize all of this crap. [SPEAKER_08]: We know this joke. [SPEAKER_08]: You and I, but I don't know everybody does all of this stuff. [SPEAKER_08]: Well, most of it has been coming from Stephen Miller.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_08]: who is a monster, and we've been saying that some people are like, no, no, he can't, you know, Donald Trump is not going to let some, you know, balding self-hating Jewish Nazi have all the power that he does, and then Stephen Miller was talking to one of the anchors on CNN here. [SPEAKER_08]: I think this was, was this Friday, maybe? [SPEAKER_08]: Here, let's play this with a DVR. [SPEAKER_07]: Illinois governors as we're provoking actions that are unlawful.

[SPEAKER_07]: Why would the mere presence? [SPEAKER_07]: Just think about this for a second. [SPEAKER_07]: If I put federal law and national guard into a nice sleepy southern town, is anyone going to riot? [SPEAKER_00]: I, and secondly, nobody's writing in Oregon or Chicago or Los Angeles, or just demonstrate it. [SPEAKER_08]: Or Memphis, uh, yeah, protesting is different than writing.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yes, not the same thing, and yes, Miller said if I did it, because he's actually admitting there that he's president Miller. [SPEAKER_08]: he's right. [SPEAKER_08]: He's actually the one between him and Russ Vott, they basically have control of probably two thirds of the government. [SPEAKER_08]: Kegbreath has control of another part of it's and then the Supreme Court.

[SPEAKER_08]: Christy denomans Supreme Court, you notice I haven't named Donald Trump in there as somebody who's actually has power in his control in the government. [SPEAKER_00]: Technically has power, but he doesn't actually have power. [SPEAKER_08]: Right. [SPEAKER_08]: and that's part of the reason I'm sure that he doesn't necessarily, you know, feel the stings also I don't think Donald could, but although he has been talking an awful lot about heaven and hell.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, and then he's going to hell, or he is. [SPEAKER_08]: He isn't necessarily saying he's going to hell, but at least he's someone acknowledges it. [SPEAKER_00]: He's concerned about it. [SPEAKER_08]: Like Susan Collins concerned, you know right up for sternly worded letter. [SPEAKER_00]: He seems more concerned that she ever does Because he keeps talking about am I gonna make it in heaven? [SPEAKER_00]: Babe nope.

[SPEAKER_08]: Sorry, but there was a And maybe little no on top of that just yeah there there was an audio piece We we we didn't grab it up because it was on the plane and so it always does that yeah but [SPEAKER_08]: So it was douchey that the younger douchey, who was asking Donald about this? [SPEAKER_00]: And what's one of the younger one, is it Pete? [SPEAKER_08]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: OK, thank you.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yes. [SPEAKER_08]: And he says, Donald said, he said, oh, I'm not going to heaven. [SPEAKER_08]: Which I'm like, oh, a knowledge man. [SPEAKER_08]: Trump is right. [SPEAKER_08]: Wow. [SPEAKER_08]: Donald knows he's not going to heaven. [SPEAKER_08]: Also though the thought came to me when Donald acknowledges that he's not going to heaven that means he knows he's going to hell So it pretty much means Heaven yeah exactly Why why try to do good if you know you're going to hell?

[SPEAKER_00]: Good point. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so that's but you shouldn't you just do good anyway [SPEAKER_08]: Yes, you should do good because it's the right thing to do and also as well for Brimley might say the taste the way to do it, but it is it is the right thing to do if you have diabetes. [SPEAKER_08]: Look, it's the right thing to always do. [SPEAKER_08]: If you're doing like doing the right thing is, no, it's okay.

[SPEAKER_08]: Look, for me, the fact of the matter is it's never wrong to do the right thing. [SPEAKER_00]: Always. [SPEAKER_08]: So, you know, doing the right thing is not always [SPEAKER_00]: It shouldn't matter if you believe in heaven or hell, just do the right thing, don't be a D. Exactly. [SPEAKER_08]: Once again, Jody is right. [SPEAKER_08]: That should be one of the general rules of life.

[SPEAKER_00]: Don't be a D. Don't be a D. There's a few things in the ten commandments that are okay. [SPEAKER_00]: The rest of them are stupid. [SPEAKER_08]: I honestly wish that in all three of the world's major biggest religions, that at some point somebody had come down from heaven or wherever and said, Look, this is one of the golden rules. [SPEAKER_08]: Don't be a D. Exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: It's not that difficult.

[SPEAKER_08]: You would think, but apparently for some people like Donald Trump, it's impossible not to be D. So, yeah, look. [SPEAKER_08]: Sometimes you get down the look. [SPEAKER_08]: That's why you get your friends to come by and hang out with you and bring it up. [SPEAKER_08]: Make it happy and that is one of the reasons why we have Brooklyn Dad to find coming in and joining us. [SPEAKER_08]: He is believe Park in his vehicle.

[SPEAKER_08]: He will be and we'll talk to him a little about the Zormam Demi race and maybe a little bit more state level politics to freshen up your drink. [SPEAKER_08]: Come on back. [SPEAKER_08]: It's another round on a Monday night here at the politics bar We'll be right back after we pay some bills at the politics bar [SPEAKER_08]: Monday nights here at the politics bar and you know what that means.

[SPEAKER_08]: It's Monday's with Mujib Brooklyn dad defiance in the house dancing kind of giving you that little five-fing a jazz hand thing. [SPEAKER_08]: How are you doing? [SPEAKER_08]: How are you doing? [SPEAKER_08]: How are you doing? [SPEAKER_08]: My weekend was good. [SPEAKER_08]: Did your favorite teams? [SPEAKER_08]: Did your favorite teams win it or slash loose depending on who you were reading for? [SPEAKER_03]: We shall not discuss any of that.

[SPEAKER_08]: Are we talking about, are we talking about Yankees biting it now? [SPEAKER_08]: Is it? [SPEAKER_03]: My Yankees have been removed. [SPEAKER_03]: They removed themselves. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, they're a thumbnail. [SPEAKER_03]: Very disappointing. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, apologies to your Yankees. [SPEAKER_03]: Hey, you know what, the only thing you got to play tonight, Jody, I don't know what the score is right now, but they're playing tonight too.

[SPEAKER_03]: I am grateful not to be a Jets fan. [SPEAKER_03]: That's good, yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh God, my consolation is, is that? [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, we're a Metz fan. [SPEAKER_03]: You! [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's kind of like a, or maybe even been following, I haven't even been following the Metz. [SPEAKER_03]: Are they in the playoff still? [SPEAKER_03]: No, no, not even close.

[SPEAKER_03]: No, it didn't even make it to the playoff, no. [SPEAKER_08]: The Metz, the Metz this year, [SPEAKER_03]: what is it with metton jets maybe they need to change their name i don't get it because the meds actually i checked on them like in the summer they were like they were doing well they started good they started it's if they were they were like a pen state football they started three and out and then they started i don't know it's less weekend after losing three games so

[SPEAKER_03]: You know, there's a weird thing in New York where the Yankees, Yankees fans hate mits and the met fans hate the Yankees. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't have that. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't have that. [SPEAKER_03]: I'm like, I'm a New York guy, right? [SPEAKER_03]: I'm living for you. [SPEAKER_03]: New York regardless. [SPEAKER_03]: That's it. [SPEAKER_03]: Period. [SPEAKER_01]: I love that. [SPEAKER_03]: I love the islanders. [SPEAKER_03]: And I don't even watch hockey.

[SPEAKER_03]: I don't even watch hockey. [SPEAKER_03]: But even the islanders. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't even watch hockey. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't even watch hockey. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't even watch hockey. [SPEAKER_03]: But even the islanders. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't even watch hockey. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't even watch hockey. [SPEAKER_00]: Of course. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, look. [SPEAKER_00]: I can catch over the Giants every day. [SPEAKER_03]: Giants first.

[SPEAKER_03]: And the jets are the like that team, because I used to watch them in the 80s when Richard Todd was the quarterback and we had Freeman McNeill and you know, all these great players this the New York Sack Exchange. [SPEAKER_03]: I remember that those jets. [SPEAKER_03]: I remember the Bill Parselle jets, right? [SPEAKER_03]: So, but there's a long history of suffering there, right? [SPEAKER_03]: So, what's the jet? [SPEAKER_03]: What's that?

[SPEAKER_00]: Joe Nameeth wasn't he the quarterback for the jet? [SPEAKER_03]: Oh yeah, he was the only winning Super Bowl winning quarterback of the jets. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, really good. [SPEAKER_00]: And it was on Brady Bunch, and that's all that matters. [SPEAKER_08]: you got you know for for for New York you guys had liberty there for for a little while the liberty not make it to play off this year off those you missed it over the weekend.

[SPEAKER_08]: Age Wilson score 31 leading Las Vegas aces to their third WNBA championship in four seasons being Phoenix Mercury 9786. [SPEAKER_08]: Nice. [SPEAKER_08]: Nice. [SPEAKER_08]: Nice. [SPEAKER_08]: Yes, and now now they can go about beating their lead commissioner and getting her out of their their house. [SPEAKER_08]: There's plenty of plenty of labor issues there. [SPEAKER_08]: We'll actually probably have to look at that.

[SPEAKER_08]: Since we're keeping in New York focused, Rickland defiance. [SPEAKER_08]: Do you see that Ken Martin D. N. C. Chair endorsed Zornman Dammy in his New York mayoral race? [SPEAKER_03]: Finally that's interesting. [SPEAKER_03]: That's interesting. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't see that now.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, it's good news on tap there at the politics bar dot com it is I'm very glad for that Zorn also put out a two minute piece Two minute video Parker Maloy who you know friend of the bar she's been here two three times which we should ever back sometime Um sure it a great piece Zorn man Tammy went out and did this two minute video about [SPEAKER_08]: how Democrats really need to defend the rights of trans people.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_08]: They just, they need to defend trans people because, among other things, when they come for one of us, regardless, whether that person is a trans person, a Jewish person, a black person, a Hispanic person, whoever, when they come for one of us, they come for all of us. [SPEAKER_03]: Can I tell you I've been saying that for years and here's here's the problem, right? [SPEAKER_03]: That is our weakness, right?

[SPEAKER_03]: That's a different part of the democratic party does not know how to talk about. [SPEAKER_03]: about trans people or trans rights, and the Republicans seeing that, that's our, we have a blind spot for that. [SPEAKER_03]: It just keep hammering away. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't think hammering away. [SPEAKER_08]: I don't think hammering away. [SPEAKER_08]: Because if you look at the numbers and everything, them hammering at the trans thing didn't actually harm Kamala all that much.

[SPEAKER_08]: They, they more acclaim it did because they spent like the Jillians. [SPEAKER_03]: Look, let me, let me, let me, let me tell you why. [SPEAKER_03]: Let me tell you why. [SPEAKER_03]: Cause that is a wedge. [SPEAKER_03]: issue is that same wedge issue and Republicans that Republicans used to drive voters to the polls in the 2000s with gay marriage was that wedge issue. [SPEAKER_08]: I guess I just don't understand it as a wedge issue.

[SPEAKER_00]: President Obama actually said something on Mark Marin's last show. [SPEAKER_08]: Yes, which by the way, Obama was the last guest on Mark Marin's last show. [SPEAKER_08]: It's also in the entertainment section. [SPEAKER_00]: And he basically said, look, [SPEAKER_00]: the way the Democrats are dealing with the transition is preachy. [SPEAKER_00]: He may or may not be right.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't necessarily agree with that because when people ask me about it, he goes, wait, teenagers are having issues. [SPEAKER_00]: They don't feel like themselves. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's how you start dealing with that. [SPEAKER_00]: So he is more diplomatic and smart about it, but it's also too nuanced.

[SPEAKER_03]: Well, that's interesting because how I've seen it is that have you seen that meme where there's a puppet who looks awkward like he's doing like the side eye, he looks like, you know, kind of thing. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's a famous meme. [SPEAKER_03]: I have to show it to you. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, Democrats are that meme. [SPEAKER_03]: Democrats on on trans issues. [SPEAKER_03]: It's almost like they hope.

[SPEAKER_03]: If they're not being preachy about it, they're being like, I hope nobody talks about it. [SPEAKER_03]: They haven't figured out how to meet this discussion head on, whereas they're allowing Republicans to frame this issue. [SPEAKER_03]: And they framed it as such. [SPEAKER_03]: Like, [SPEAKER_03]: Democrats want a man grown men to be in your daughter's dressing room. [SPEAKER_03]: You want their daughter to be always trying to do that.

[SPEAKER_03]: To compete against a against grown men in sports, men should not be in girls' sports. [SPEAKER_03]: That's you know, that's their framing. [SPEAKER_03]: I have not seen any consistent or effective counter to that or even just the whole thing needs to be framed.

[SPEAKER_08]: I see a lot of different responses, but maybe it's because I'm not hanging out in the corners of where there are Democrats like that because I in general make it a, you know, even when we had Carlos in the bar, I made it pretty clear. [SPEAKER_08]: It's for everybody. [SPEAKER_08]: This is by go back to blazing saddles. [SPEAKER_08]: Go back to blazing saddles is what I tell people.

[SPEAKER_08]: And I said, when they said, well, you know, you know, we'll take the blacks, but not the Irish. [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, and he said, and right, he said, no, no, no. [SPEAKER_08]: Everybody. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's my thought. [SPEAKER_08]: And my thought is, if you don't like that, [SPEAKER_08]: There's a door on the other side of the door, the Nazis who want to kill you, probably.

[SPEAKER_08]: So you can hang with us where it's everybody, or you can go to the Nazis who want to kill you. [SPEAKER_08]: These are your two options. [SPEAKER_08]: And I oftentimes get people go, wow, like that, and there should be more parties. [SPEAKER_08]: You want to know how they get to be more parties, you stay involved in politics and you change the system, but you don't change it from the outside throwing pebbles.

[SPEAKER_08]: You want rocks, you got to come in the doors, and it coming the doors, you're either with them or you're with us. [SPEAKER_08]: You want to play ball? [SPEAKER_08]: There's only two cars in this race, sweet cheeks. [SPEAKER_08]: You join our car or you get in there. [SPEAKER_08]: been our car. [SPEAKER_08]: We'll let everybody in. [SPEAKER_08]: And how we let all kinds of crazy people drive sometimes. [SPEAKER_08]: But in their car, they go kill you.

[SPEAKER_08]: So you do you move, but just understand. [SPEAKER_08]: I understand what you're saying about that there hasn't been a consistent message. [SPEAKER_00]: No, it's been a bad messaging. [SPEAKER_00]: They need somebody to understand that they need a Charlotte climber, Parker, Moloa, they need people, my friend Michael. [SPEAKER_00]: They need people that are actually [SPEAKER_08]: I think they have, I think, to some degree, they're having some great people who have been helping them.

[SPEAKER_08]: And I think Obama's position on that is somewhat in vain with that, in in line with that, in the idea of down here in the Virginia corner of the bar, Abigail Spanberg. [SPEAKER_08]: So when the the idiot ridiculous Republican, who is the current lieutenant governor, has been, she's off the rails nuts. [SPEAKER_08]: And she's been, they've been trying to insert some of this trans stuff.

[SPEAKER_08]: And the thing that Spanberg was said, [SPEAKER_08]: I used to be in law enforcement, first of all, I care more about kids and I've done more to take care of child predators than you ever have Republican, which she's right she has. [SPEAKER_08]: But then she says the second thing is is health issues for teenagers are supposed to be between teen and their parent. [SPEAKER_08]: And I do not want the government getting involved.

[SPEAKER_08]: You say those two things right off the bat to a whole lot of Republicans who have some kind of sense, but for whatever reason still vote with Trump or whatever, they still watch Fox. [SPEAKER_08]: And you look at that, you present those arguments to them, and they go, hey, I agree with that. [SPEAKER_08]: I'm a parent. [SPEAKER_08]: I want to be responsible for my kid. [SPEAKER_08]: Great. [SPEAKER_08]: And you've been in law enforcement.

[SPEAKER_08]: You want to have the tools to take care of child predators? [SPEAKER_08]: OK. [SPEAKER_08]: Great. [SPEAKER_08]: And so, Spanberger is just hitting it head on, and she's saying that [SPEAKER_08]: So then, of course, the her Republican win some seers, whatever it is, she's just being an idiot. [SPEAKER_08]: But I think Spanberg is going to do good here. [SPEAKER_08]: I think Mike Cheryl is going to do pretty good up in New Jersey.

[SPEAKER_08]: Obviously, Democrats have to come out and vote. [SPEAKER_08]: Yes, I do think that your point that we don't have an organized messaging behind the scenes. [SPEAKER_08]: One of things that I found out, well, I knew some of this before, but now I know it even more. [SPEAKER_08]: Hangin' out with some of the former Republicans that I know. [SPEAKER_08]: They have had for years organized messaging on the Republican side.

[SPEAKER_08]: And it is so much more complex than pretty much most people in the Democratic side have ever even. [SPEAKER_00]: They don't think it's that difficult. [SPEAKER_03]: What's that? [SPEAKER_00]: We're organizing any sort of messaging is not easy. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, no. [SPEAKER_03]: No. [SPEAKER_03]: The public has been very effective because they use fear as their baseline. [SPEAKER_03]: Yes. [SPEAKER_03]: And so with trans people as it was with.

[SPEAKER_03]: gay marriage as it was with LGBT Q rights, you know, there's that Syria black folks rights. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, there's that area where these people are different from me People fear whatever they don't understand and whatever they [SPEAKER_03]: don't even want to understand. [SPEAKER_03]: They don't want to expand their understanding of all of these issues. [SPEAKER_03]: They want their world to remain as small and easy to understand as possible.

[SPEAKER_03]: And so when you ask them to go from, you know, only one marriage is one man and one woman to [SPEAKER_03]: Now two men can get married and two women can get married. [SPEAKER_03]: Okay. [SPEAKER_03]: All right. [SPEAKER_03]: That took them like 40 years to catch up to that concept or whatever, right? [SPEAKER_03]: And now right on the heels of that we're introducing to them. [SPEAKER_03]: There are many genders. [SPEAKER_03]: They're like, wait, what?

[SPEAKER_03]: You know, so like there isn't a whole issue where [SPEAKER_03]: where life is moving too quickly for them. [SPEAKER_03]: And like, you know, the advancement of knowledge. [SPEAKER_03]: The same way like we went from calling kids who were slower in school, the R word. [SPEAKER_03]: And just throwing them into a special egg class.

[SPEAKER_03]: You're just, you're just, [SPEAKER_03]: Right, and now it's nuanced now it's no actually they have autism or they have ADHD or they have like a multi-treating Disabilities, but we didn't know that because science hadn't had been diagnosing people like that So it's probably might have been but a boom, so I that's what I'm trying to say is like [SPEAKER_03]: give people some space to grow on absolute trans side, right?

[SPEAKER_03]: Let them be who they need to be so that you don't have all these teenagers trying to unalive themselves, but also give people on the right [SPEAKER_03]: But also, let's, let's make this clear. [SPEAKER_03]: The trans people are 1% of the United States population, right? [SPEAKER_03]: The chances that your kid is going to be in the class with another trans boy or girl is very, very, very low. [SPEAKER_03]: You don't need to, you don't need to make it your whole, you know.

[SPEAKER_03]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_03]: being just to deny these kids the right to have a peaceful growing experience. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I mean, there's an actor she was on supergirl. [SPEAKER_00]: Her name is Nicole Mans. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And she's a twin. [SPEAKER_00]: And I did not go twin with her brother. [SPEAKER_00]: And so she realized as a teenager that she should have been a girl.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so she got the right treatment when she was at before puberty, right, which is if you ever see her. [SPEAKER_00]: No, it's going to. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, you don't think of that at all. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And wow, that's her. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and she looks a lot like her brother on his iPad right now. [SPEAKER_00]: If you look at her and her brother, I mean, they look a lot alike, but she has longer hair now.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, but they look a lot alike, but she's, she got the treatment at the young enough age where it's, that's when it's important. [SPEAKER_00]: And hormones can be reversed. [SPEAKER_00]: It's not like surgery. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like if you stop taking hormones, your natural hormones come back in. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, really? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: If you take hormones to presence, [SPEAKER_00]: they suppress your hormones.

[SPEAKER_08]: Obviously, today is indigenous people's day. [SPEAKER_08]: We're, you know, we're excited about that because that's it. [SPEAKER_08]: We actually, we're going to have Julie Frenchela who is going to be here tomorrow, BDD. [SPEAKER_08]: You probably heard her on Thursday nights on John Fuegel saying show was some of my Smith.

[SPEAKER_08]: They do the the whole, uh, look from Native America, which is freaking fantastic and she's, she's brilliant. [SPEAKER_08]: She's also. [SPEAKER_08]: She's dropped dead gorgeous. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you know, I mean, you're like a burlap sack on my head I think you're beautiful Jody. [SPEAKER_08]: I think my wife's beautiful, but Julie is one of those that you know That's she's as a friend of mine used to call the car crash beautiful You say why why why car crash beetle?

[SPEAKER_08]: It's because if you're a guy if you're a head guy and you drive along You see her and you will pay so much attention to her that you just [SPEAKER_00]: My dad almost car crashed in the 70s. [SPEAKER_00]: Jacqueline Smith was walking down a street. [SPEAKER_03]: Car crashed beautiful. [SPEAKER_03]: I had a huge question, Jacqueline. [SPEAKER_00]: And she's delighted by the way. [SPEAKER_00]: And he was just like driving. [SPEAKER_00]: It was pre-troll these angels.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't choose on the show yet. [SPEAKER_00]: And she's just walking down a street. [SPEAKER_00]: And my dad was like, craning his head. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, and the thing about Julie the thing about Julie French Ellen is so fantastic is she's all she is as smart And is interesting as she is beautiful. [SPEAKER_08]: So that's one of those work.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, it's one of those where if you didn't like, you know, first on my heard her was on John show and I'm like This woman is really kick ass smart. [SPEAKER_08]: I want to like find out more about her.

[SPEAKER_08]: So of course, I look her up and then I'm like [SPEAKER_08]: Damn, I'm like, you know, when you see a handsome person of whatever gender and you've already heard them, you've read them and they're like, this person is freaking brilliant and then you're like, okay, you know, then it's like the inside does come out. [SPEAKER_08]: Sometimes, you know, God, especially like with, um, oh, my God, Steven Miller. [SPEAKER_00]: President Miller. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, what?

[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: He was riding him from the inside. [SPEAKER_00]: He's like, he's like 20 years younger than I am. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and I love posting a side by side of him and Paul Rudd and like Paul Rudd is like 58, you know, he's like 20 years older and looks like he's 30's looks way younger than Steven Miller. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's like Ralph Machio. [SPEAKER_00]: He's almost looks his age.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, which I mean, that's it's but look the nice people age nicely. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, and evil people like him, love. [SPEAKER_00]: She didn't work like, you know, Kellyanne got some good work. [SPEAKER_00]: So there's that. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, is that so? [SPEAKER_00]: She did. [SPEAKER_00]: She looks a lot better than she is too. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, but she still, she's still evil from me. [SPEAKER_00]: She is still evil. [SPEAKER_00]: She's two days younger than I am.

[SPEAKER_00]: So that's why I'm going with that. [SPEAKER_08]: No, really? [SPEAKER_08]: I would have thought she's much older. [SPEAKER_00]: No. [SPEAKER_03]: I just quickly wanted to say something when you were talking about car crash, gorgeous.

[SPEAKER_03]: that's from an episode of Seinfeld, where Jerry and Kramer were in the car and here along the street because Sue Ellen Mishki, who was Elaine's nemesis and Elaine had given her a bra as a gift because, you know, she always complained about Sue Ellen never wore a bra so there she is hanging out in the swing and all over the place.

[SPEAKER_03]: So Sue Ellen Mishki wore [SPEAKER_03]: Right, right, and Jerry and Cramer saw this, and they do stop paying attention to the road and crashed into a pole. [SPEAKER_08]: Right. [SPEAKER_08]: No, I, but I, we, we used, we used car crash beautiful, at least my friends and I going back even a high school because fortunately I happened to know a guy who actually did that. [SPEAKER_08]: So it's funny. [SPEAKER_08]: slow, slow speed, I mean, you know, but still you're like, dude.

[SPEAKER_08]: Anyway, but yeah, so look some some people are for Angela is they just gorgeous. [SPEAKER_08]: They're beautiful. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they're gonna be on our Wednesday. [SPEAKER_08]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_08]: And Leah Greenberg, who is co-founder of Indivisible, she is beautiful in all kinds of ways and she's helping all the rest of us be beautiful this weekend with this

[SPEAKER_08]: no kings rally the second one this year yeah i'm very glad about it because you know as we were talking about Steven Miller and of course you know the no kings rally coming up there at some of them on the right are you know all row they're blaming they're trying to blame every damn full thing on no kings look the rally this second one was conceived of what within a week of the first one i think yeah the first one was like July 4th wasn't it?

[SPEAKER_08]: somewhere around somewhere around that time very this summer. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, so I'm going this was long before the shutdown happened. [SPEAKER_08]: This is has nothing to do with the invasion by ice which by the way is coming from Stephen Miller, but they are trying to do all of these very dark dystopian things which by the way. [SPEAKER_08]: You, BDD, have written a couple of great posts over at your sub-stack, defining dispatch.

[SPEAKER_08]: One, but a week old talks about Trump's dystopian America, and the chaos, look, we've seen this kind of things in movies. [SPEAKER_08]: And I think that's part of the reason why some people fear the worst and get focused on it. [SPEAKER_08]: And of course, you're a post that's posted a belief today called, is Trump staging Antifa attacks for power, which, [SPEAKER_08]: Johnny, I was talking about this earlier, do you find it as funny as we do?

[SPEAKER_08]: Then all these right wingers going, oh, you're against Antifa and you go, okay, break it down. [SPEAKER_08]: They're against anti-fascism, which means they're for fascism. [SPEAKER_08]: They're pro-fascism. [SPEAKER_03]: It's the tall rule of two negatives. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_08]: How do you go around these days going, I'm pro-fascists. [SPEAKER_08]: I'm pro, not to, I mean, sure they could.

[SPEAKER_08]: And I suppose it would be better for them to just put on their white hoods and carry around the burning crosses so that way we could all see who they are. [SPEAKER_08]: But the fact in the matter is, I'm going, you guys are idiots. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm also so surprised that Pam Bondi's cross has yet to burn her. [SPEAKER_08]: or her or BS Barbie in the press room. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, I could care online. [SPEAKER_08]: Right, exactly.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the fact that they were crosses and they're still the skin has yet to be burned.

[SPEAKER_08]: Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha [SPEAKER_03]: Every time election cycle rolls around, there is a different thing that the Republicans warn. [SPEAKER_03]: they're followers to be.

[SPEAKER_08]: Play boogie man about, be it for me. [SPEAKER_03]: There's always a different boogie man. [SPEAKER_03]: So at one point, people, gay people, trans the caravans coming from the top of the border that mysteriously disappear after election day. [SPEAKER_03]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_03]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_08]: No, exactly. [SPEAKER_08]: Because you notice you can, like, it's like clockwork.

[SPEAKER_08]: Literally as soon as the election polling places are rolled up, all the caravans just magically stopped. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, so there is box stops covering them right. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if you guys put in in the what do you call that the news on tap. [SPEAKER_03]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_03]: You know, we put it on the news on tap. [SPEAKER_08]: We put it into your pieces in there. [SPEAKER_08]: Absolutely.

[SPEAKER_03]: No, no, no. [SPEAKER_03]: This is video that Pam Bondi and the White House put together. [SPEAKER_03]: with a bunch of influencers and they had this scary music about how they're going to go after Antifa and we're going to find their funding. [SPEAKER_03]: And now we didn't go in there and we might have there is no funding. [SPEAKER_03]: There is no funding. [SPEAKER_08]: You know what I have to say but right it really is right.

[SPEAKER_08]: There's no funding because Antifa is not a group. [SPEAKER_03]: It's not a thing but here's my point right. [SPEAKER_03]: My point is this. [SPEAKER_03]: When you see [SPEAKER_03]: videos on Twitter or on social media of, you know, these groups of Antifa, and I'm putting Antifa in quotation marks, where do they wear the wearing black helmets? [SPEAKER_03]: So you can't tell who they are, black pads, black clothes, et cetera, et cetera. [SPEAKER_03]: Like an unidentifiable.

[SPEAKER_03]: Who else is unidentifiable right now? [SPEAKER_03]: Ice. [SPEAKER_03]: Ice, exactly. [SPEAKER_03]: So who's to say that these folks who are going out [SPEAKER_03]: cosplaying as ice during the day are employing double duty and getting some extra cash to false flag it at night, you know, right, erupting peaceful protest to create a We know you remember this probability, but umbrella man. [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, yeah protests in the Twitter photos.

[SPEAKER_08]: Uh-huh exactly [SPEAKER_08]: We all remember that I'm relevant that they later found out that he happened to be one of those kind of right wingers that that there have been a lot of the different protests especially in 2020. [SPEAKER_08]: But the guy that's Jesse Waters keeps interviewing. [SPEAKER_08]: Oh yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: The same white guy who dresses differently, but you can always tell because he has the same eyes and yet he's always the same bad guys.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's wearing the ski mask and then a mask and then a leader. [SPEAKER_00]: He's like you're the same dude.

[SPEAKER_08]: if you're doing entertainment and you know and you know somebody and and they're getting there their insurance through the actors union occasionally you do what you can to try to get them a small bit part so that way it it it ups their insurance and they'll do any weird aspect part because you know once they do it once they've got the credit on it now they can keep their insurance that this is something that is very common in Hollywood. [SPEAKER_08]: Am I wrong, Jodie?

[SPEAKER_08]: no you're not wrong okay but that guy is not getting that kind of money from well okay but i'm just i'm just saying that this must be Jesse Waters equivalent thereof well i know this guy and you know in order to keep his fox contract he's got to pretend to be some kind of bad guy so we're bringing all the ones every you see what is just get cold out on that that boggles my mind because fox is a complete rat hole and Jesse Waters is a monster i

[SPEAKER_08]: So he's been a monster his whole time 2016 RNC I'm on a bus weren't a bus with my former assistant producer who at the time was the executive producer for Megan McCain which you know whatever I mean [SPEAKER_08]: as BDD puts on a black hoodie just to kind of be like, ah, it's not BDD, it's who is that? [SPEAKER_00]: Iceman, iceman. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, now you're not iceman. [SPEAKER_00]: I am Antifa guy.

[SPEAKER_08]: Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

[SPEAKER_08]: That's funny. [SPEAKER_08]: So Jesse Waters is on the bus with us. [SPEAKER_08]: Like I said, my former sister producer who's now Megan's producer and Megan and I and we're talking about the difficult people that we've worked with in different kinds of media. [SPEAKER_08]: And I worked with some of the most difficult more in-groom, for example, is not easy to work with. [SPEAKER_08]: Oh wow.

[SPEAKER_08]: And and I was saying, how, you know, hey, if there was a chance ever, I'd love to work with Keith Olderman, because that would just be fantastic. [SPEAKER_08]: Not easy either. [SPEAKER_08]: No exactly, but that's why because I'd be like some people were difficult and and and he just looks at me and he's just and this is remember when he didn't have his own show he was still I No, no Riley Fox. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, he used to be a while.

[SPEAKER_08]: I least producer and then he got his own show on Fox, but yeah, so he's so he still builds Riley's producer at this point and he's just looking at me shocked. [SPEAKER_08]: He's why would you want to do that? [SPEAKER_08]: And I'm like, because you learn from people who are different from you, and who are sometimes difficult. [SPEAKER_08]: And if they're very talented, that's how they got there, they're things.

[SPEAKER_08]: So yeah, he just was, I mean, he's such a wimp and so stupid. [SPEAKER_08]: And I'm just like, Jesse Waters is such a lame ass. [SPEAKER_08]: He, his producers save him a lot, and when they don't, you notice, because he says and does really dumb things. [SPEAKER_08]: Like bringing your friend on and dressing him three different ways, and being the same bad guy.

[SPEAKER_08]: I mean it's so ridiculous that it's so hilarious to me and then the people saying I'm against fascism Well, that's good, but they say no. [SPEAKER_08]: I'm against being against fascism. [SPEAKER_08]: No When you say you're against antifa, that's what you're saying you're saying you're four fascists.

[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, you're saying you're a Nazi Don't Look BDD is going to help us clean up the bar a little bit once he figures out how to get that mask off [SPEAKER_08]: It's different now. [SPEAKER_08]: It's hilarious. [SPEAKER_08]: It's hilarious. [SPEAKER_08]: Look, we have a I can't wait till we go video.

[SPEAKER_08]: I know We'll be doing that soon, but for now look we've got some great guests coming up later on this week Julie French home in a maro, Frangela, Leah Greenberg, Bob Cesca, John Fugel sang and more and of course We definitely are going to want to see you here tomorrow night at the bar.
