[SPEAKER_00]: It's political Pinky, critical You think it's a far away But you are the politics嘛 Shotsmith, Pearson, Jodie Hamilton Jodie! [SPEAKER_00]: Sean! [SPEAKER_08]: It is... Fire! [UNKNOWN]: Yeah!
[SPEAKER_08]: we are really well okay we would be really happy except for republicans have once again whipped out their tiny johnson angrily and now they're shaking him at every one i'm not getting buzzed for that look we'll be talking about tiny johnson and his little impotent issues well he has a small something
[SPEAKER_08]: well joddy's right about that look we will be talking about Donald stupid wars the foreign ones and the domestic ones as well and of course we got some great entertainment news a great drink of the day and Karen and any of them from the true blue politics podcast happen to be hang
[SPEAKER_08]: And now with us, thank you very much by the way, everybody coming into the bar from whatever corner of the radio universe that you guys are coming to us from, whether that happens to be WCPT AM820 in Chicago or maybe you are in Atlanta or the Georgia area listening on Georgia now radio. [SPEAKER_08]: Maybe you happen to be up in Minneapolis, Saint Paul AM950 the site. [SPEAKER_08]: of the no kings main rally tomorrow. [SPEAKER_08]: That's going to be great.
[SPEAKER_08]: And of course, I wish I could go. [SPEAKER_08]: Well, we're going to be going in our own quarters of the world. [SPEAKER_08]: Big thanks by the way to the folks in Tennessee. [SPEAKER_08]: We know you guys got some rallies down there with the D2 or talk. [SPEAKER_08]: And of course, progressive voices radio worldwide. [SPEAKER_08]: There's a lot of rallys, Jody, um, uh, Ezra, you know, who was here as a little event of invisible was here on Wednesday.
[SPEAKER_08]: If you guys missed that, you can check out the podcast on your favorite podcast player or by subscribing at the politics bar.com, but Ezra, uh, believe he was on Lawrence last night. [SPEAKER_11]: He's been everywhere. [SPEAKER_08]: He's been making the rounds other podcasts as well. [SPEAKER_08]: I've seen so I'm pretty glad he's been getting around podcast radio shows TV shows the whole bit and he said last night, I think I heard him say 32 67.
[SPEAKER_08]: I think that's what he told Lawrence worldwide like over 3,200 locations. [SPEAKER_08]: So if you're having to be an American somewhere else. [SPEAKER_08]: I saw a big one down in Mexico City, um, seeing some in different places in Europe. [SPEAKER_11]: I'm sure Portugal is spania. [SPEAKER_08]: See, we've got we've got the details, by the way, if you look in the news on tap today at the politics bar dot com in the first round, it is time to be heard and the no kings.
[SPEAKER_08]: This is the third no kings rally. [SPEAKER_08]: We got everything you need to know right at the first link there. [SPEAKER_08]: Of course, Minneapolis is hosting the flagship rally tomorrow. [SPEAKER_08]: Bruce Springsteen. [SPEAKER_08]: Gonna be the headliner. [SPEAKER_08]: We love Bruce. [SPEAKER_11]: Did you hear Batman Lewis song? [SPEAKER_08]: Yes, I did. [SPEAKER_08]: I think I was repostated on my socials. [SPEAKER_08]: I know you did as well. [SPEAKER_08]: I did.
[SPEAKER_08]: I think we'll make sure we have to obviously make sure that's reposted on the bar socials here. [SPEAKER_08]: So that's that's pretty good. [SPEAKER_08]: There are we have a couple of links to different stories. [SPEAKER_08]: One of the ones that are really like Paul Waldman, who is a fantastic writer. [SPEAKER_08]: He's done a lot of stuff. [SPEAKER_08]: He used to write kind of a co-writer with Greg Sarge and over the Washington Post back when it was legitimate.
[SPEAKER_08]: And he's got his own sub-stack now. [SPEAKER_08]: We got a link to it in the news on tap today. [SPEAKER_08]: He's got a great piece talking about what Democrats specifically elected Democrats have to learn from the no kings events. [SPEAKER_08]: Just a couple of examples of the things that he's talking about. [SPEAKER_08]: First of all, what elected Democrats need to understand is that people are mad.
[SPEAKER_08]: Yep. [SPEAKER_08]: And that's actually good because anger is one of the most powerful motivators in politics. [SPEAKER_11]: It's a really good motivator. [SPEAKER_08]: Mm-hmm. [SPEAKER_08]: You look at the polls, especially. [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, we can talk about some of that, too. [SPEAKER_08]: Um, secondly, the moment is not just about Trump. [SPEAKER_08]: No, I'm not in the short term. [SPEAKER_08]: It's about Trump. [SPEAKER_08]: But it's not just Trump.
[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: It's Trump. [SPEAKER_08]: And remember, as mad as people are at Trump, people want something more. [SPEAKER_08]: It's, it's, look, Donald Trump's. [SPEAKER_08]: Potential future war on Cuba is a perfect example of this. [SPEAKER_08]: They're saying, well, let's go to Cuba and have a war and the smart thing is. [SPEAKER_08]: In fact, this is one of the in the art of war of the 8,000 euro book from China, the art of war. [SPEAKER_08]: How do you do this?
[SPEAKER_08]: The one of the primary things that they say is always have an exit strategy before you go into a war. [SPEAKER_08]: Know how you're going to get out before you get in. [SPEAKER_08]: And in this case, that happens to be something that happens to work with politics as well. [SPEAKER_08]: As mad as people are at Trump, people go, okay, but if we replace him, what are we going to replace him with?
[SPEAKER_08]: If we replace the people who are in charge of Cuba, what are we going to replace them with? [SPEAKER_08]: Little Marco? [SPEAKER_08]: No. [SPEAKER_08]: Marco wishes he was, but no, we're not going to replace him with Marco, that's no. [SPEAKER_08]: Ted Cruz? [SPEAKER_08]: Oh god, no. [SPEAKER_08]: Oh my god, but also, I mean, seriously, Jodie, why would you want to replace him with Ted Cruz, Ted would never be in Cuba? [SPEAKER_08]: He would always be in Cancun.
[SPEAKER_08]: I know, it's close though. [SPEAKER_08]: And Mexico, they're smart. [SPEAKER_08]: They have a great president. [SPEAKER_08]: Claudia Shinebound. [SPEAKER_08]: I love her. [SPEAKER_08]: So the, each I do too, I think she's great. [SPEAKER_08]: So they, they don't, they don't need a new leader down there. [SPEAKER_08]: Anyway, but look, the piece that we've got there, it is definitely worth reading the piece from Paul Waldman.
[SPEAKER_08]: It is the last piece in that first round in the news on tap. [SPEAKER_08]: Now, of course, there's the second round, and that's the one that the latter half of the day everybody's been talking about. [SPEAKER_08]: Winning the shutdown fight, got to say, got to give congratulations to Chuck Schumer. [SPEAKER_08]: Yes, absolutely. [SPEAKER_08]: Look, we say it around here. [SPEAKER_08]: You give credit when to do and criticism, too.
[SPEAKER_08]: And quite frankly, on this, Schumer held the line. [SPEAKER_08]: He did. [SPEAKER_08]: So to Democrats and it looks like now, we haven't seen a recent update around here, but so tiny Johnson. [SPEAKER_08]: Democrats in and Republicans in a how or in the Senate, uh, they've been battenous about for what like a week, 10 days, some of the least. [SPEAKER_08]: I mean, it's been 42, 2 days, 42 days today is the 42nd day of the DHS show on this shutdown, right?
[SPEAKER_08]: This includes, um, TSA, this includes the Coast Guard. [SPEAKER_08]: This includes FEMA, this includes, uh, Sissa, the cyber folks. [SPEAKER_08]: Um, and yes, it includes ICE and [SPEAKER_08]: And Democrats have held the line the entire time and said, look, we will fund everybody except ICENCVP and we'll fund ICENCVP if. [SPEAKER_08]: They agree to some small changes, no masks, put your name tags on, get, uh, you get your opponents and wear body camps, you some some small stuff.
[SPEAKER_08]: Basically, if you're going to act like a law enforcement agency, then you need to act like a law enforcement agency, like every other law enforcement agency. [SPEAKER_11]: And have actual uniforms because they don't wear them, right, standardized. [SPEAKER_11]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_08]: single one for each, you can have one for CBP, one for ice, but not 17 different versions or hey, just your T-shirt and a mask and a handkerchief can get up from those or whatever.
[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, you can't see my phone. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. [UNKNOWN]: Anyway. [SPEAKER_08]: So yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, no, that's Democrats are asking for the same simple stuff the whole time. [SPEAKER_08]: We've got in the news on tap today. [SPEAKER_08]: I was pretty proud of the way the Democrats handled this. [SPEAKER_08]: So the Senate passed the DHS funding bill last night along Democratic lines agreeing to in the shutdown and doing everything.
[SPEAKER_08]: The piece that we've got there is linked to Politico and right there in the second graph, they quote, it says, Senate Republicans accepted what Democrats have been offering for weeks cash for all of DHS except for ice and part of customs and border protection. [SPEAKER_08]: They didn't even get, they didn't in the block all of CBP, just the folks who are doing, um, basically going after immigrants. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: Show them.
[SPEAKER_08]: So we come along to this afternoon and some of the maggots in the house who don't quite understand how this works, that you're not going to get everything you want because this is democracy and you don't have the votes. [SPEAKER_08]: Well, you know, they get out there with tiny Johnson and they push tiny Johnson out there and they shake their tiny Johnson to us here. [SPEAKER_08]: Let me play this. [SPEAKER_08]: This is actually this reporter who's asking jobs to the question.
[SPEAKER_08]: He's from Fox. [SPEAKER_08]: No kidding. [SPEAKER_05]: you and John Fulin are not on the same day. [SPEAKER_05]: You came out and criticized Democrats. [SPEAKER_05]: He was the engineer behind this. [SPEAKER_05]: Why are you guys not on the same day? [SPEAKER_05]: And are you not extending the shutdown if you were to accept what the Senate had passed? [SPEAKER_05]: This could end tonight and the TSA lines would shrink.
[SPEAKER_06]: That wouldn't call John Fulin the engineer of this. [SPEAKER_06]: Chuck Schumer and the Democrats in the Senate. [SPEAKER_06]: Chuck Schumer in the Democrats in the Senate have forced this upon the Senate. [SPEAKER_06]: I have to protect the House. [SPEAKER_06]: Let me answer the question, Chad. [SPEAKER_06]: I have to protect the House and I have to protect the American people. [SPEAKER_06]: That's our responsibility.
[SPEAKER_06]: Our colleagues on this side understand, this is not a game. [SPEAKER_06]: We are not playing their games. [SPEAKER_06]: These people want open borders and they want legal aliens.
[SPEAKER_08]: I'm not going to let him lie on your way, it's no no, no, but look, he sat there and this was not a game and then he's playing a game he is so so Johnson and house Republicans 1 billion percent infinitely own they own it now for sure all of exactly all of the pain all of the the lines all of the people who are not getting paid up because even Donald tried to [SPEAKER_08]: he said, so, you know, he tried to light like this to go away. [SPEAKER_08]: We have a story.
[SPEAKER_08]: We'll talk about that a little bit later. [SPEAKER_08]: It's a little bit further down in the news on tap. [SPEAKER_08]: But Donald was kind of like this. [SPEAKER_08]: He wants the war to go. [SPEAKER_08]: He wants anything that doesn't make him look good to go away. [SPEAKER_08]: He's fired of the negative press. [SPEAKER_08]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_08]: That's what Donald cares about. [SPEAKER_08]: So the union came out today. [SPEAKER_08]: That's for that.
[SPEAKER_08]: Was it MS now? [SPEAKER_08]: Was it ABC's streamer? [SPEAKER_08]: One of them. [SPEAKER_08]: Anyway, said the Trump administration basically told them that workers, TSA workers, should expect to begin to get paid next week if the House would pass the Senate bill. [SPEAKER_08]: If the House would do their job,
[SPEAKER_08]: And Johnson's, well, well, we're going to, well, we're going to do is we're going to send back to the Senate the same piece of crap bill that we already sent to the Senate multiple times that they knocked down because they said we don't have the votes and there's no way to get the votes to pass this, which is why the Senate sent back a compromise, which was what the Democrats started with in the first place Democrats came up with a compromise and the Democrats compromised a simple.
[SPEAKER_08]: We'll fund everything except ice and part of CBP. [SPEAKER_08]: Yep. [SPEAKER_08]: And part of the reason that they're like, you know what, we don't have to worry about that is that ice and CBP have seven times the normal budget sitting in their coffers for Marines. [SPEAKER_08]: They don't need current funding. [SPEAKER_08]: No, if you don't fund them, they're not going to miss a beat. [SPEAKER_11]: That even a little bit.
[SPEAKER_08]: If this was, if this was a budget for food, they wouldn't miss a meal. [SPEAKER_08]: They're going to come and say anything. [SPEAKER_08]: So Democrats are saying, we'll fund everybody else. [SPEAKER_08]: We'll pay everybody else. [SPEAKER_08]: Just not these idiots until we get the reforms that are very basic reforms. [SPEAKER_08]: And that is the ultimate compromise position.
[SPEAKER_08]: That's the one that Democrats came forward with first, so they could say, look, we're going to do this. [SPEAKER_08]: And Thun and the Republicans in the Senate through a tantrum and they ride and they kick me, scream and don't like any of them. [SPEAKER_08]: And then 2 a.m. last night they're like fine. [SPEAKER_08]: Fine. [SPEAKER_11]: Finally, Democrats are right on this. [SPEAKER_11]: Let's just do it.
[SPEAKER_11]: And because they've been saying it for months for the last month and 40, 40, 40, 42 days. [SPEAKER_11]: It's just separate them. [SPEAKER_11]: Which is what Democrats have been doing. [SPEAKER_11]: Do that. [SPEAKER_08]: Just separate the bills. [SPEAKER_08]: Originally said that they said, Oh, yeah, we'll find. [SPEAKER_08]: You could separate it as though Democrats weren't going to do it. [SPEAKER_08]: And then Democrats went, [SPEAKER_08]: Okay, cool. [SPEAKER_08]: Let's do it.
[SPEAKER_08]: Justin, great, fine, let's do that. [SPEAKER_08]: So Democrats came with the compromise. [SPEAKER_08]: So let's go back, start this again here. [SPEAKER_08]: 40, let's go like 50 some odd days. [SPEAKER_08]: It's winding down, it's getting towards the deadline. [SPEAKER_08]: Republicans say you have to do everything we want. [SPEAKER_08]: Democrats say that's not how this works. [SPEAKER_08]: This is democracy and we get a vote.
[SPEAKER_08]: And Republicans say, well, you have to do everything we want. [SPEAKER_08]: And Democrats go, no. [SPEAKER_08]: And a few of the semi-sane Republicans go, what would you want? [SPEAKER_08]: And Democrats say, not for ice in those CBP folks, but everybody else, sure. [SPEAKER_08]: And that's pretty much where we've been for the last six weeks. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: Finally, it was a great two last night.
[SPEAKER_08]: And then, Tiny Johnson, Republicans went out there and wave their Tiny Johnson to us. [SPEAKER_08]: And you can see how impotent they were. [SPEAKER_08]: It's going to end up back where this deal is that the Democrats have put down because it has to be going to end up if Johnson wants to get re-elected or anybody in his caucus wants to get re-elected right now every single Republican including Donald Trump in Congress. [SPEAKER_08]: They all own this.
[SPEAKER_08]: Except for the center of Republicans who finally bowed and said, okay, look, we'll actually find compromise. [SPEAKER_08]: This is all on Tiny Johnson. [SPEAKER_08]: It is. [SPEAKER_08]: Good luck, Tiny. [SPEAKER_08]: Anyway, it is Friday nights. [SPEAKER_08]: We've got Karen and Anita coming in. [SPEAKER_08]: You got Jody, you got me. [SPEAKER_08]: We got the drink of the day and so much more. [SPEAKER_08]: Fresh in your drink and come on back. [SPEAKER_08]: It's a Friday night.
[SPEAKER_08]: We'll have some fun with you and me and Jody. [SPEAKER_08]: Here at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_04]: We'll be right back after we pay some bills at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_08]: It is a Friday night at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_08]: Thank you very much, everybody who reaches out to us. [SPEAKER_08]: It's out, says hello. [SPEAKER_08]: Says other things on all of our Greek ways to reach us. [SPEAKER_08]: You know, you guys can reach out to us on any of our social media platforms.
[SPEAKER_08]: Whether that is blue sky or threads, Facebook, sub-stack, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, we are at the politics bar on all of those, or. [SPEAKER_08]: Maybe you're reaching out to us with your phone.
[SPEAKER_08]: You got to sit in there You know that it actually can be used to dial or send text messages two one three six seven seven seventy two fifty eight That's two one three six seven seven seven seven seven seven two five eight or two one three six seven seven Salt like in Yomaga Rita of by the way Got a comment here Jody of Katie Cat
[SPEAKER_08]: uh... via blue sky uh... she said look uh... i recently flew from Boston to Phoenix and her tsa precheck i didn't ask her went what time she went here but she said that her tsa precheck was only seven minutes yeah well good for her hey smart looks she knows i get here from there um... well i mean different airports have different problems [SPEAKER_08]: Well, exactly.
[SPEAKER_08]: And, you know, the recommendation we said yesterday to most people is if you go in the middle of the day it's fine, but then if you got a hit a connection you're, you know, going to be kind of It's going to be an issue potentially. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, it could be it could be so I get it. [SPEAKER_11]: I'm I mean, I'm not going to treat us a pre when you get a connection. [SPEAKER_11]: It's just.
[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, but the fact of the matter is is that the TSA workers, they are going to be really pissed. [SPEAKER_08]: We were, you and I were just mentioning this here in the break. [SPEAKER_08]: The funny thing is, these members of Congress have to get home now, or they don't have to, but many of them want to. [SPEAKER_08]: And on their way to try to get home, they're going to have to deal with all of those long lines themselves.
[SPEAKER_11]: Because they're not getting the pre-clearance anymore from Delta or United or American or Legion or whatever. [SPEAKER_08]: Do you know I don't know if anybody else here does? [SPEAKER_08]: Do you know actually what they what they mean when they do that? [SPEAKER_11]: I, it's like a pre-clearance with, I don't know, I mean, I know they get it. [SPEAKER_11]: So you special treatment. [SPEAKER_08]: You've been backstage at a lot of shows and movies and even like concerts and things.
[SPEAKER_08]: So there's usually like a backdoor access, certain special people. [SPEAKER_08]: You don't necessarily want to have them out with the regular lines as they're coming in because it's safer and that's the kind of thing. [SPEAKER_08]: Were they basically organized to have somebody meet him at a back door, meet him at a back door, kind of escort them to the first class. [SPEAKER_11]: Nancy Mace complained about it not too long ago.
[SPEAKER_11]: Before this, [SPEAKER_08]: right exactly and and basically what the carriers are doing is we're not going to be part of that little login pony show. [SPEAKER_08]: We're we're we're not going to do that you are on your own Congress because you have put us on our own so congratulations and good for them.
[SPEAKER_11]: Well, they're because these people will have to be with their constituents when they go to try to fly to home for hours for hours like I'm in the line and even if your TSA pre depending on the airport, it's going to end if you're a Republican good luck. [SPEAKER_08]: I'm sorry, but um, especially Mike Johnson. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, look, and here's the thing. [SPEAKER_08]: Johnson only has 218 votes.
[SPEAKER_08]: That's technically, wait a minute, there's that one guy who, no, he has to be 17, I think. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, no, I think you're right. [SPEAKER_08]: I think Joe, he's right. [SPEAKER_08]: So he doesn't even have the full amount of votes. [SPEAKER_08]: No, past anything on his own. [SPEAKER_08]: He has to have Democratic support to do what he wants to do.
[SPEAKER_08]: Democrats, any, if any House Democrat votes with Johnson on this, they're they're slidding their own political vote. [SPEAKER_08]: They're, they're, they're screwed. [SPEAKER_08]: I do it. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, I don't, I don't think they're, they're a few of them that I have a question, but I don't think most of them. [SPEAKER_11]: I think it's, how keen has them like Nancy did? [SPEAKER_08]: which is good.
[SPEAKER_08]: That's exactly how it should be because this is one of those things where Democrats have made clear. [SPEAKER_08]: We want to get these people paid. [SPEAKER_08]: Yes. [SPEAKER_08]: I mean, there's that Republicans. [SPEAKER_08]: especially the the extremist ones.
[SPEAKER_08]: The ones of I'm gonna stand here and hold my breath until the government turns blue right exactly until yeah it will actually good good way to actually say that you will turn blue this fall big time and I I think [SPEAKER_08]: Here's the thing. [SPEAKER_08]: It's, it's just, it's just, and then there was the thing last night. [SPEAKER_08]: So we've got this one of the news on Tap 2. [SPEAKER_08]: Donald Trump before Tony Johnson's little thing today.
[SPEAKER_08]: Trump announced that he, he said fine. [SPEAKER_08]: If you guys can't do it, I will pay the TSA. [SPEAKER_08]: I will force the government to pay the TSA agents. [SPEAKER_08]: He tried to take, [SPEAKER_08]: Anybody remember that case in in the Supreme Court? [SPEAKER_08]: Literally the case was a month ago. [SPEAKER_08]: I am not kidding you about this. [SPEAKER_08]: You folks should remember we talked about it here.
[SPEAKER_08]: I believe the case I'm trying to get the name of it here if I remember right, learning resources. [SPEAKER_08]: Yes, the Supreme Court decision from February, which basically says that no, [SPEAKER_08]: Donald can't just control whatever the hell he wants on tariffs, he can't just move money around the government from one account to another anyway he wants, and that would be what he was doing if he's saying, well, you have to pay the TSA agents.
[SPEAKER_08]: No, Congress has not put money in there. [SPEAKER_08]: They haven't given them their allowance. [SPEAKER_08]: They haven't given Congress has not given DHS their allowance. [SPEAKER_08]: Now, that doesn't mean that Congress doesn't have that money in its wallet, in its [SPEAKER_08]: But DHS doesn't get to reach into their political parents billfold. [SPEAKER_08]: They have to wait until they've been given their allowance. [SPEAKER_08]: Because that's how the budgetary system works.
[SPEAKER_08]: Donald Rating will just just go, go take my wallet off the bureau there and go buy me another fifth jack. [SPEAKER_08]: I even though we know Donald isn't drunk, but anyway, but just other things. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: A lot of horrible things. [SPEAKER_08]: But anyway. [SPEAKER_08]: the way that the money is dulled out and the Supreme Court literally told them last month. [SPEAKER_08]: No, you cannot go down the hall and grab the billfold.
[SPEAKER_11]: You have to be handed your allowance. [SPEAKER_11]: But Donald wants to take credit for trying to pay the TSAs because he was being blamed for it. [SPEAKER_08]: He wants the credit and Democrats will say, look, we agree with you Donald. [SPEAKER_08]: Let's pay everybody TSA, accept ice.
[SPEAKER_08]: And part of see what I'm saying all of see me peep just the part that's going out and you know trying to hurt brown people and black people and occasionally white people and just be you know I'm not just embarrassing people on this right exactly yeah no another murdering shooting people in the lake no we don't stop doing that right exactly that's where Democrats are at But there are a small group of mega Republicans who like you said Joe they're they're going to hold their breath until the government turns blue and hopefully it will
[SPEAKER_08]: Amen to that. [SPEAKER_08]: So we will we will have to see about that. [SPEAKER_08]: We've got the stories as we noted in the news on tap which remember you guys can subscribe to and get for free at the politics bar dot com we have little satire from Alexandria Petrie as well. [SPEAKER_08]: Shockingly sending ice didn't fix the airport crisis she says she's [SPEAKER_08]: I love her as a saddest. [SPEAKER_08]: She's she's got just a perfect amount of snark.
[SPEAKER_08]: So if you're still sitting in a TSA line somewhere or just in general frustrated with the veds, as you're waiting maybe waiting and getting ready for no kings tomorrow, feel free to read that piece. [SPEAKER_08]: It's a free gift link. [SPEAKER_08]: It's there in the news on tap. [SPEAKER_08]: So it is Friday nights. [SPEAKER_08]: Are you hungry? [SPEAKER_11]: Not a kind, not that kind, buddy. [SPEAKER_08]: Donald Trump is talkling with his threats to Iran.
[SPEAKER_08]: So he said, remember, he's had a five day deadline, and that was five days ago, and he says, well, well, okay, he gets to late last night at early morning. [SPEAKER_08]: It says, well, well, well, well, we'll extend it. [SPEAKER_08]: You and I both had the story where he claimed that the big gift was actually 10 oil tankers. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: But nobody can confirm that the Iranians actually let 10 oil tankers through it.
[SPEAKER_11]: In fact, there are a couple of, oh my God, these stories to say that certain people aren't getting through.
[SPEAKER_08]: well yeah we have one of those actually it's in the news on tap uh uh the uh the uh the believe the Chinese yeah we're trying to get through in there and uh they're like new sorry not happening um it's just it's absolutely ridiculous about how how much Donald is lying about this and about of the Iranians but they're like dude this is not how this works this is not not at all how this works but hey he talked about Donald talk about how we're going
[SPEAKER_08]: And they weren't, I mean, they've been somewhat nice. [SPEAKER_08]: They haven't made it a big deal. [SPEAKER_08]: Kind of like, you've dealt with more famous people than I have. [SPEAKER_08]: You ever dealt with anybody famous who has a problem like Donald, they lie their ass off, or at least lie their ass off in a particular situation or setting. [SPEAKER_08]: Mm, yes.
[SPEAKER_08]: Okay. [SPEAKER_08]: Okay. [SPEAKER_08]: Um, if you were in maybe a producer's role [SPEAKER_08]: Joey shaking her head new. [SPEAKER_08]: Right. [SPEAKER_08]: So you were nice to them. [SPEAKER_08]: You didn't expose them and be like, yeah, no, you're lying. [SPEAKER_08]: Just everyone there. [SPEAKER_08]: This person is lying. [SPEAKER_08]: This person lying. [SPEAKER_08]: Bull crap right here. [SPEAKER_08]: You take care of it. [SPEAKER_08]: Right.
[SPEAKER_08]: So in that way, Iran is being nice. [SPEAKER_08]: They're not, I mean, they came out with a simple thing of Donald did the thing of stir-up trouble on a Friday night, which I haven't checked, but he may have done again recently. [SPEAKER_08]: And then, you know, try to fix it Monday morning and rigging the market. [SPEAKER_08]: And Iran went, you're rigging the market. [SPEAKER_08]: And they just said it like once or twice, and they're like, okay, whatever.
[SPEAKER_08]: That's, you know, kind of like saying it on your breath. [SPEAKER_08]: That person is lying, but whatever. [SPEAKER_08]: Everybody knows at that point that you know that that person's lying and everybody else knows that person's lying You have to know coverage yourself. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: You don't have to be a jerk and go, hey hey This person is lying. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_08]: So yeah That respect, I guess I ran as being nice to him.
[SPEAKER_11]: Very nice. [SPEAKER_11]: And they don't want to start World War 3. [SPEAKER_08]: They're trying to prevent it They're just trying to stand up for themselves and be like dude we didn't start this this is dumb. [SPEAKER_08]: They didn't start the fire [SPEAKER_08]: And I don't like the Iranian guy. [SPEAKER_11]: I don't like them either. [SPEAKER_11]: I think they're awful people to their people. [SPEAKER_08]: They're their people and a lot of their neighbors.
[SPEAKER_11]: The governing body of Iran is awful, especially to the women in that country. [SPEAKER_11]: So I don't like them, but. [SPEAKER_11]: weirdly I trust them more than I trust Donald and that well at least on my brain is going crazy on this on some of these issues just because of the fact that they're they're just laying it right out there [SPEAKER_11]: I hate Iran, I hate the not Iran, I hate the government of Iran, not Iranians.
[SPEAKER_11]: These are the Iranians of the... [SPEAKER_11]: I don't hate the Iranians in general. [SPEAKER_11]: Right. [SPEAKER_11]: Like I don't hate most Americans, it's a thing, and I don't hate most people in Turkey or... [SPEAKER_08]: You don't say for most people in general, you're a very loving open person. [SPEAKER_08]: You don't hate most people in general.
[SPEAKER_08]: I don't, I don't, I hope you do, you do, you do, you do, for for that if somebody is going to do something stupid that they stop or at least hurt other people. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, with both us and Iran, let's just stop. [SPEAKER_08]: And that's the world because we're jacking up everybody's cost. [SPEAKER_11]: Let's just stop that in apparently in the other beating people up for the gas price. [SPEAKER_11]: I just sent you a picture. [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, she's.
[SPEAKER_11]: of the gas prices and by the way, it wasn't that bad when Biden was president. [SPEAKER_08]: No, let's see here. [SPEAKER_08]: I've got I've got that picture. [SPEAKER_08]: Let me let me look here. [SPEAKER_08]: Gas prices near Joe D's house. [SPEAKER_08]: Let's see two times of a mile. [SPEAKER_08]: Five 89 for regular six 89 for self-server. [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, no, that's it. [SPEAKER_08]: That 99 with the car was. [SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, with the car was.
[SPEAKER_11]: So it's a $10 car wash. [SPEAKER_08]: Right. [SPEAKER_08]: The plus is 609 and all of these are 9 of 10. [SPEAKER_08]: So basically you round up to the next one. [SPEAKER_08]: So it's basically 590 plus a 610 supreme is 630 diesel is 690 and that's what the car wash.
[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, that's with seven dollars without a triple A average gas prices today are 398 one month ago, they were 298 yeah, so by the way, this weekend, I believe will be one month that we've been at war with the right people did the Joe Biden did this. [SPEAKER_11]: The seven dollar gas was a half a mile from an hour house, not. [SPEAKER_08]: And that same gas station now, is that the one that you took a picture? [SPEAKER_11]: No, no, this is the one closer to my house.
[SPEAKER_11]: The one farther, I will take it tomorrow when I go on the No Kings March. [SPEAKER_08]: Okay. [SPEAKER_11]: Because I'm gonna imagine because if it's seven bucks up here, it's eight dollars down there. [SPEAKER_08]: So when it was $7, people were screaming about Joe Biden's. [SPEAKER_08]: But now that it's $8, how about some of them saying people? [SPEAKER_08]: Are some of them, are you, what are you, what are you hearing anything from them? [SPEAKER_08]: Hey, I'll hear it.
[SPEAKER_11]: I will hear it. [SPEAKER_08]: Nothing. [SPEAKER_08]: What tomorrow? [SPEAKER_08]: I assume. [SPEAKER_08]: I hope everybody hears all of us tomorrow. [SPEAKER_08]: I am really hoping. [SPEAKER_11]: There's going to be a huge March tomorrow. [SPEAKER_11]: It's going to be. [SPEAKER_08]: If you've seen the map at nokings.org, which again, we've got the link there in the news on tap.
[SPEAKER_08]: Quite frankly, there are a few empty spots, but not many, and some of them are places where like some of the deserts out the west where we're looking at Nevada and Utah where literally nobody lives. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, I don't think there's, there's a, there's a Marcher Black Rock City because Black Rock City is not existing at this moment in time, but if, if it was, I'm sure there would be, but there are pretty much even small towns.
[SPEAKER_08]: I mean, the whole map is mostly covered. [SPEAKER_11]: It's, and yeah, the whole map of these United States is covered. [SPEAKER_11]: And I'm going down. [SPEAKER_11]: I'm going to see Seth the home of hope. [SPEAKER_11]: Okay, he said I said this is where I'm going to be and he goes I'll see you there.
[SPEAKER_11]: So yay On our T's as a New York, so she's in New York Don't feel saying is that you're into the bar though, so we know that he'll be in San Monica Not well, it's fine, maybe right, but he'll be you know he'll be in one of the rallies in California and Miss Miller is going to Hollywood [SPEAKER_08]: which is excellent. [SPEAKER_08]: Some of our friends in New York, I believe Dino Badolla is going to one of the ones in New York and New Jersey. [SPEAKER_08]: I'm not sure which.
[SPEAKER_11]: I know that Joe White banks is going to the Chicago. [SPEAKER_11]: Chicago. [SPEAKER_11]: Chicago and then we have so many friends in Minneapolis. [SPEAKER_11]: Oh, my God. [SPEAKER_08]: I know. [SPEAKER_08]: This is going to be great. [SPEAKER_08]: Look, we're going to talk more about obviously the no kings rally and of course more. [SPEAKER_08]: We're going to draw a few more rounds from the news on tap. [SPEAKER_08]: Of course, as you can tell, I'm dry.
[SPEAKER_08]: I need another drink. [SPEAKER_08]: So, we're going to do the drink today coming up. [SPEAKER_08]: I think this is one you guys are going to like. [SPEAKER_08]: It's, um, well, well, we'll ask Uncle Tom about it. [SPEAKER_08]: No, really. [SPEAKER_08]: Fresh and you drink. [SPEAKER_08]: Come right back. [SPEAKER_08]: Hang on. [SPEAKER_04]: We'll be right back after we pay some bills at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_08]: Friday evening, Karen and Anita will be coming in.
[SPEAKER_08]: You've got your Jody Hamilton and me, Sean Smith Pierce. [SPEAKER_08]: And of course, we got you hanging out here at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_08]: We got you back with the great drink of the day tonight. [SPEAKER_08]: And of course, we will pull a few more rounds for you from the tap from the news on tap today, which honestly, I, you know, the the news on tap full of fight tonight. [SPEAKER_08]: And that is really what we need more of from our Democrats.
[SPEAKER_08]: So, [SPEAKER_08]: You know, I'm glad that Chuck Schumer kind of put up his dukes. [SPEAKER_08]: We got that picture there in the news collage today. [SPEAKER_08]: Of course, if you, you miss the news collage, you miss the news of the day. [SPEAKER_08]: You're like, I want to know what the drink of the day is. [SPEAKER_08]: The smart thing to do is just subscribe to the politicsbar.com.
[SPEAKER_08]: Get to the podcast ad for either news on to have and the drink of the day with the recipe. [SPEAKER_08]: It's all there. [SPEAKER_08]: Check it out. [SPEAKER_08]: Just six bucks a month, buck 50 a week. [SPEAKER_08]: No, I'm not going to use that. [SPEAKER_08]: I mean, you know, he's still going to say, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's a mathematical discounting. [SPEAKER_08]: I'm sorry.
[SPEAKER_08]: It's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a [SPEAKER_08]: Illinois, Illinois is going to put them in a can. [SPEAKER_08]: They're going to get them a trash can beatings.
[SPEAKER_11]: Well, I'm sure the Chicago people are happy about that. [SPEAKER_08]: Indeed. [SPEAKER_08]: Indeed. [SPEAKER_08]: Our friends at WCPT will be like, oh, yeah, we will totally trash. [SPEAKER_08]: I will for you on that. [SPEAKER_08]: So I said it was going to give you the drink today. [SPEAKER_08]: Jody and I grown. [SPEAKER_08]: Give you the drink of the day because we said we are going to give you the drink of the day. [SPEAKER_08]: So let's give you the drink of the day.
[SPEAKER_08]: Jody, um, obviously I handed it. [SPEAKER_08]: I said Uncle Tom, which it's not that Uncle Tom Collins. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: It's Tom Collins is a pretty simple drink. [SPEAKER_08]: It is. [SPEAKER_08]: Some of you out there may know, you know, it's, it's not quite Snoop's drink, gin and juice. [SPEAKER_08]: It's a more refined version of that, but that's basically basically. [SPEAKER_08]: What? [SPEAKER_08]: So, Tom Collins cocktails the drink of the day.
[SPEAKER_08]: What is the inspiration for it? [SPEAKER_11]: Well, it's a birthday of Charles Tankeray. [SPEAKER_08]: There you go, Charles Tagore, one of the key inventors, well, kind of, there were a couple people who knew it would be better. [SPEAKER_08]: And then he's the one who really got locked in on the recipe and didn't dry gin. [SPEAKER_08]: which is different than regular gin. [SPEAKER_08]: Regular gin is a little bit sweeter. [SPEAKER_08]: Mm-hmm.
[SPEAKER_08]: And even though they have fixed it and it's not as dirty as some people ate it. [SPEAKER_08]: So we have the the separate link. [SPEAKER_08]: You remember when we did the old Tom, we talked about old Tom, the cats and the whole gin, gin craze in London, we have a link to that in today's drink. [SPEAKER_08]: Thank you.
[SPEAKER_08]: But that that happens, you know, back in like the the 1700s and then the 1800s they were coming out of that gin was again regulated it was okay and yet a lot of people still had that dirty what they called old Tom So people called it uncle Tom which we had a different thing wasn't we weren't there definitely here. [SPEAKER_08]: It was a different thing yeah different thing we weren't there in history yet, but um So the old Tom gin which was basically
[SPEAKER_08]: Not exactly well made, not exactly highly regulated and it's kind of dirty kind of not great and so they put a lot of sugar in it to kind of smooth things out kind of like some of the garbage food out there where they just throw in a bunch of sugar and salt now and you're like, Yeah, you're not going to notice we did corn syrup and sugar and salt right exactly. [SPEAKER_08]: And that is old Tom Jen or what is now known as regular Jen.
[SPEAKER_08]: But then London, dry gin is a little bit different, a little bit more herbal, and of course, the herbal, herbal, or herbal. [SPEAKER_02]: He's English. [SPEAKER_08]: It's herbal because it has an F and H in it. [SPEAKER_08]: It's herbal. [SPEAKER_08]: Thank you, Eddie, is it? [SPEAKER_08]: Hi, I will look my wife's name is Bill with an age. [SPEAKER_08]: You can spell Sarah with or without.
[SPEAKER_06]: Yes. [SPEAKER_08]: She spells it with the age and if somebody asks and she's in company that she can trust somebody, you know, that she's meeting somebody new, but she's still going to trust them and she, you know, oh, how do you spell it with the age or that? [SPEAKER_08]: Yes. [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, I can't believe I just said that. [SPEAKER_08]: You just did it. [SPEAKER_08]: It's been a year. [SPEAKER_08]: It's been a year. [SPEAKER_08]: It's been a year.
[SPEAKER_08]: I had to bleep you. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, well. [SPEAKER_11]: Goodness gracious. [SPEAKER_11]: It's a Friday night and I was in the garden. [SPEAKER_11]: Stars and gardeners. [SPEAKER_11]: Have you had a talk all in today? [SPEAKER_11]: Because, do we? [SPEAKER_08]: We have a drink of the day, that's why. [SPEAKER_08]: We age a great history. [SPEAKER_08]: I love the fact you got all the history in there.
[SPEAKER_08]: I spit it up a little bit, but you didn't really good with this, even an old picture. [SPEAKER_08]: That's got to be literally like an 1800s picture. [SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, it's him from 1830 something. [SPEAKER_08]: Wow. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: Wow. [SPEAKER_08]: That's pretty amazing. [SPEAKER_08]: Obviously, you guys, you know, you want to, you want to read all of it, you could and you should subscribe.
[SPEAKER_08]: But what is in a Tom Collins for those people who don't necessarily know, oh, and by the way, you should probably guess two things about the glass that we're using today. [SPEAKER_11]: Pre-chilled. [SPEAKER_08]: And the second thing. [SPEAKER_11]: Ah, half an hour and a half ounces of the gin because doi. [SPEAKER_08]: It's a Collins glass. [SPEAKER_08]: Hi. [SPEAKER_08]: We're making a Tom Collins. [SPEAKER_11]: A doi.
[SPEAKER_08]: Okay. [SPEAKER_08]: So ingredients, things we need to make it. [SPEAKER_08]: What do we need to do? [SPEAKER_11]: Okay. [SPEAKER_11]: First off, the Tom Collins, the Collins glass. [SPEAKER_11]: A doi. [SPEAKER_11]: We've already said it was pretty chilled. [SPEAKER_11]: Be as I'm going to make that shirt at some point. [SPEAKER_11]: a shaker. [SPEAKER_11]: Ice for both the shaker and the glass, one and a half ounces of tank rage in because die.
[SPEAKER_11]: Um, three quarters of an ounces of lemon juice always freshly squeezed. [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_11]: Three quarters of an ounce of simple syrup, one and one, which is just, it's, it's just two to one, one and one is simple. [SPEAKER_11]: Right. [SPEAKER_08]: And three to one is known as Richard. [UNKNOWN]: Sorry. [UNKNOWN]: Anyway, anyway. [SPEAKER_08]: And that's just two to one's anyway, never mind. [SPEAKER_11]: And that's a club soda.
[SPEAKER_11]: And your garnish is a lemon slice and a cherry. [SPEAKER_11]: But by the way, if you make a Joan Collins, no cherry. [SPEAKER_11]: That's an old joke. [SPEAKER_08]: Hardtenders. [SPEAKER_08]: It's Joan Collins, just saying. [SPEAKER_11]: No cherry, if it's a Joan. [SPEAKER_11]: But that's an old bartender. [SPEAKER_08]: She's very attractive still. [SPEAKER_08]: Even in 1926. [SPEAKER_08]: Gorgeous.
[SPEAKER_08]: She and your mom, I'd like to know where they found the fountain of youth. [SPEAKER_08]: to say it. [SPEAKER_08]: Hmm. [SPEAKER_08]: Okay. [SPEAKER_08]: Or when you could you tell us something, I mean, you know, obviously, Jody's had a couple of steps, but I would like them to, just saying. [SPEAKER_11]: Okay. [SPEAKER_11]: What you're in the need, you're going to put the ice in the Collins glass. [SPEAKER_08]: Right. [SPEAKER_08]: But it's over. [SPEAKER_08]: And then you over.
[SPEAKER_11]: And then you add the gin lemon juice and simple syrup to your shaker with the other ice. [SPEAKER_11]: Shaken to let's cold, strain into the Collins glass and top. [SPEAKER_11]: The club soda and garnish with the lemon and the cherry, if it's Tom and not a [SPEAKER_11]: Right, and the lemon goes with the Joan, that cherry does not. [SPEAKER_08]: Right, Tom, Tom is less experienced to show us a, would you tell me that was an interesting fact?
[SPEAKER_11]: I did not realize it was a bartender thing that I learned as learning how to bartend. [SPEAKER_11]: They're like, oh, no, if they order a Tom Collins without a, without a cherry, it's a Joan. [SPEAKER_08]: Right, but then there was the other thing that you told me about, like, certain people who tend to, you know, young men who come in and order a Tom Collins. [SPEAKER_11]: Oh, they're young. [SPEAKER_08]: almost always young because they don't really know what they're doing.
[SPEAKER_11]: And a shard nae, if a woman card this these people because they don't know what they're drinking yet, they're not experiencing it. [SPEAKER_11]: No, just if they order a Tom Collins card them, if they order a basically a genetic card them anything that's super simple and they jack and coke jack and coke. [SPEAKER_08]: Right. [SPEAKER_08]: And I'm just kind of like a drama and coke.
[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, I mean, they will order something that they want to drink because they're old enough to know what they want to drink. [SPEAKER_11]: Shardonnay, big red flag, just card. [SPEAKER_08]: So you look, we give you all the details and if you miss any of them, you don't want to do subscribe. [SPEAKER_08]: Now, where you can get the drink of the day and the recipe and the details at the politics bar.
[SPEAKER_08]: all right entertainment details today because well that's one of the things we do when we give you the drink as well. [SPEAKER_08]: Bing congratulations of course to Taylor Swift. [SPEAKER_08]: One big at the 2026 I heart-ready awards. [SPEAKER_08]: I think I am short. [SPEAKER_08]: I'm glad when Taylor wins and she thanked her fiancé Travis Kelsey. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, uh, the boss. [SPEAKER_08]: Uh, he's going to be in Minneapolis in AM 950 country this weekend.
[SPEAKER_08]: Obviously from the no kings rally, but he's also got a new tour going all over the country. [SPEAKER_08]: And he is going to be unapologetically political. [SPEAKER_08]: And he's basically said he's going to ignore the model winding. [SPEAKER_11]: So he's never not been political. [SPEAKER_08]: Right. [SPEAKER_08]: I always love how so many people get born in the USA mixed up. [SPEAKER_08]: You get these Republicans who are like, yeah, blame born in the USA.
[SPEAKER_08]: I'm like, do you ever listen to that? [SPEAKER_08]: Listen to the lyrics we learned. [SPEAKER_11]: It's like when Paul Ryan was like, I'm all about rage against the machine. [SPEAKER_11]: And then Tommy Morello goes, have you listened to our stuff? [SPEAKER_11]: Paul Ryan? [SPEAKER_08]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_11]: You're the machine that we're rage against. [SPEAKER_08]: It's white people clapping on the two and four versus in the three. [SPEAKER_08]: Um, uh, some good news.
[SPEAKER_08]: If you like actor Jeffrey Owens, remember he did a show back in the day. [SPEAKER_08]: He's done some other things. [SPEAKER_08]: He's joining the pit. [SPEAKER_11]: And then he's been working like a. [SPEAKER_08]: People per seven years ago. [SPEAKER_08]: He was working at Trader Joe's and then somebody saw him and got him a couple of parts. [SPEAKER_08]: And he's been doing a bit parts and he's a good actor and I'm glad that he's getting work again.
[SPEAKER_08]: I'm glad he's he's working as a working actor. [SPEAKER_08]: That's what he trained to for and he's good at it. [SPEAKER_08]: So. [SPEAKER_08]: All right, NCAA men's stuff from last night for those who missed it's number two Purdue. [SPEAKER_08]: I don't know if you saw that shot, Jody. [SPEAKER_08]: Last second tip. [SPEAKER_08]: Basically, it's like, went up to the to the rim. [SPEAKER_08]: Almost kind of sat there. [SPEAKER_11]: Oh my god, that's like.
[SPEAKER_11]: time, but it's such drama, exactly. [SPEAKER_08]: Also though as as a Husker fan and especially because we spent a number of years after Nebraska and Oklahoma took pity on Texas because they destroyed their own conference. [SPEAKER_08]: We invite them into the big eight made of big 12 and in Texas just after everything up.
[SPEAKER_08]: So Nebraska fans have a longstanding rule generally of when the [SPEAKER_08]: Which, that kind of offset the fact that last night, so Nebraska lost to freaking Iowa. [SPEAKER_11]: I'm sorry, honey. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, it's lucky. [SPEAKER_08]: You play the game on proud of the team. [SPEAKER_08]: I am proud of the Nebraska Corn Oscar men's and women's basketball team. [SPEAKER_08]: Women didn't get quite as far as the men did. [SPEAKER_08]: Look, I'm proud.
[SPEAKER_08]: They did great. [SPEAKER_08]: The men did better than they've ever done, better than the school record ever. [SPEAKER_08]: But it was good. [SPEAKER_08]: What if, yeah, I would have liked to see more. [SPEAKER_08]: I still don't think we would have won against it. [SPEAKER_08]: Illinois is, I believe, a top seed, and I don't think the Oscars would have beat them, so it would have been one more game. [SPEAKER_08]: But, you know, you just, you always like it when your teams do well.
[SPEAKER_08]: Oh, by the way, Major League Baseball score from yesterday. [SPEAKER_08]: I said in my nationals we're gonna lose, and they didn't. [SPEAKER_08]: They beat the Cubs 10 to four. [SPEAKER_08]: I was shocked. [SPEAKER_08]: I know, right? [SPEAKER_08]: I know. [SPEAKER_08]: Sorry for your WCP T fans, I'm just saying it. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, if they're socks fans, it's just saying ours. [SPEAKER_11]: It depends. [SPEAKER_08]: We gotta ask Karen.
[SPEAKER_08]: uh... the women's nc double a uh... sweet sixteen is going on right now um... and obviously this weekend uh... we've got a link where you can check the schedules and the results in case you were like oh crap i forgot i missed that's why we do these things we try to help you guys out there uh... some other media matters uh... netflix is raising their prices again for the second time and less than two years which is all the bullcrap
[SPEAKER_11]: Well, it's the mergers going to happen. [SPEAKER_11]: It's going to be a little thing. [SPEAKER_11]: We'll see how it all goes. [SPEAKER_08]: Savannah Guthrie's returning to today a week from Monday. [SPEAKER_08]: That's for one man. [SPEAKER_08]: I feel really bad for her and her siblings. [SPEAKER_08]: But she needs to work because she needs money.
[SPEAKER_08]: Well, also, but the thing is, if there's nothing you can do, one of the worst things you can do is sit there and do nothing. [SPEAKER_11]: Right. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, you just obsessed. [SPEAKER_08]: You're like crap, I wish I was doing something. [SPEAKER_11]: So I feel bad for her and her entire family. [SPEAKER_11]: They still haven't found her mama. [SPEAKER_08]: Right. [SPEAKER_08]: I can't even. [SPEAKER_08]: We don't know what's, I can. [SPEAKER_08]: I am.
[SPEAKER_08]: I can't even imagine. [SPEAKER_08]: I'm pretty sure at some point they'll figure out what happened. [SPEAKER_08]: But yeah, it's kind of suck. [SPEAKER_08]: It's it's not cool. [SPEAKER_11]: I can't even. [SPEAKER_11]: It's just it's like I can't. [SPEAKER_08]: We've got the details. [SPEAKER_08]: They are there in the news on tap in the entertainment and media sections. [SPEAKER_08]: Obviously we have more news on tap.
[SPEAKER_08]: Some good news in election land and we'll talk about some of the polling stuff there. [SPEAKER_08]: It is the top of the hour. [SPEAKER_08]: If you got to do what you got to do, don't worry. [SPEAKER_08]: Look, Karen and any different true blue politics podcasts. [SPEAKER_08]: They will be coming in. [SPEAKER_08]: We have more of the news on tap. [SPEAKER_08]: We'll go over that. [SPEAKER_08]: We'll go over a couple of the other things as well.
[SPEAKER_08]: Best thing for you to do right now. [SPEAKER_08]: Get up. [SPEAKER_08]: Go down the hallway. [SPEAKER_08]: You know what it is in the hall there. [SPEAKER_08]: Left, right? [SPEAKER_08]: Center. [SPEAKER_08]: We aim, please, here, politics bar. [SPEAKER_08]: You aim two, please. [SPEAKER_08]: I'm like we don't want to clean up so much later. [SPEAKER_08]: And then come back, freshen you drink.
[SPEAKER_08]: We'll have another round on [SPEAKER_04]: We'll be right back after we pay some bills at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_03]: Welcome to the bar. [SPEAKER_12]: It's political. [SPEAKER_03]: Thank you, radical. [SPEAKER_00]: You think it's a bar? [SPEAKER_00]: Wherever you are, the politics bar. [SPEAKER_03]: Sean Smith Pearson, showy Hamilton. [SPEAKER_08]: Our number does do it two number two. [SPEAKER_08]: It's Friday night.
[SPEAKER_08]: No, no, no. [SPEAKER_11]: Who did number two work for? [SPEAKER_11]: What? [SPEAKER_08]: Well number two is is not working here, but that's okay. [SPEAKER_08]: Remember if you missed it earlier this week, we had as well then in talking about what can you do and what you should you talk about. [SPEAKER_08]: They've got graphics. [SPEAKER_08]: If you're like, I'm not very good at posters, but I could print something. [SPEAKER_08]: We've got the link there too.
[SPEAKER_08]: That no kings headquarters link go there and you'll get the details for that. [SPEAKER_08]: Yep. [SPEAKER_08]: All right. [SPEAKER_08]: More news from the news on tap today in the fourth round under Trump's stupid domestic wars under the immigration war section. [SPEAKER_08]: Congratulations and thank you go to the Choctaw Nation. [SPEAKER_08]: They bought a little big lots warehouse and closed off in the Oklahomaized detention site. [SPEAKER_08]: You guys well played.
[SPEAKER_08]: go Native Americans go go look look they they they're like we've done this before we've we've experienced this before we're smart but we we know this goes so well the Mark Wayne too many first names Mullen is it Cherokee yeah different tribe different tribe but still he should be okay with that
[SPEAKER_08]: These days now, I think it was David, by the way, David is the one I believe is the first person who I heard him called Mark Wayne, because that's why I can, Mark Wayne, like a drag queen. [SPEAKER_08]: Mark Wayne, who is now in charge of DHS. [SPEAKER_11]: But he's part of the Cherokee Nation. [SPEAKER_08]: Okay. [SPEAKER_08]: So he should approve of all this stuff. [SPEAKER_08]: You would think, but he's also was a plumber in a former life. [SPEAKER_08]: So, well, that's fine.
[SPEAKER_11]: He can clean my drains anytime. [SPEAKER_08]: Well, we also know he's good at handling stuff. [SPEAKER_08]: I'll just say that. [SPEAKER_08]: You went there, didn't you? [SPEAKER_08]: You just went there. [SPEAKER_08]: Hello, lady. [SPEAKER_08]: Hello, baby. [SPEAKER_08]: Hey, look who just came into the box. [SPEAKER_08]: Hello, buddy. [SPEAKER_11]: I wish lady. [SPEAKER_08]: Karen's from Chicago. [SPEAKER_08]: Karen, Bern, what the window behind you.
[SPEAKER_08]: I believe you've got the Northern Lights tonight. [SPEAKER_10]: You do. [SPEAKER_10]: Yes. [SPEAKER_08]: That's gorgeous. [SPEAKER_08]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_08]: Now, this is interesting. [SPEAKER_08]: I have to say this just off the bat here. [SPEAKER_08]: with Karen. [SPEAKER_08]: As we do on Fridays, I was listening to our WCP team. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, all of us do. [SPEAKER_08]: So it's like a whole thing. [SPEAKER_08]: It's a whole thing.
[SPEAKER_08]: You know, we wake up with you and we wake up obviously with Richard Chu and you know, it's it's a gigantic bed. [SPEAKER_08]: It stretches from end to end. [SPEAKER_08]: It does. [SPEAKER_08]: It does. [SPEAKER_11]: you're in the middle and we just sandwiched you. [SPEAKER_11]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_08]: Nothing wrong with the Chicago sandwich, although this week as we discuss with John Peeple. [SPEAKER_08]: This is Minneapolis.
[SPEAKER_08]: Go with cracker crush, not necessarily the deep dish, just saying this, you know. [SPEAKER_08]: Well, whatever sandwich you like, I'm care, hogey, sub, whatever. [SPEAKER_11]: No, it was about pizzas. [SPEAKER_08]: Right, that's what I'm saying. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, but I'm saying pizzas, subs. [SPEAKER_08]: I don't care if you like to eat just eat some good stuff. [SPEAKER_10]: I'm good with all of it.
[SPEAKER_11]: D-B-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D [SPEAKER_08]: Hey, Los Angeles is a great food town. [SPEAKER_08]: No question about D.C. is a great food town. [SPEAKER_08]: No question about that Minneapolis is a great food town. [SPEAKER_08]: They're going to be a lot of people hopefully.
[SPEAKER_08]: I know, look, if you are going in no Kings rally, we hope you are going wherever you are. [SPEAKER_08]: Whether it's in no. [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, by the way, Karen at your no Kings rally, who do we say is going to be there? [SPEAKER_08]: Joe, why mix? [SPEAKER_10]: So I, yes, I actually was texting with her and so we're going to look out for each other, but I'm going to be I'm going to be going and attending the Illinois Handmaids gathering along the route.
[SPEAKER_10]: So I've got, I've got the whole costume. [SPEAKER_10]: I spent a little bit of money. [SPEAKER_10]: Well, yeah, they'd be good like it because you can be anonymous. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, I get that I absolutely get this week. [SPEAKER_11]: I'm like, I don't sign up because I don't want anybody to track me Yeah, yeah Hey, look at this game. [SPEAKER_08]: That's my girl There's a thing How are you doing? [SPEAKER_08]: Good. [SPEAKER_08]: Here's the thing.
[SPEAKER_08]: I woke up this morning with Karen and [SPEAKER_08]: rolled a little bit and then it was Anita on staff's show. [SPEAKER_08]: So I can honestly say that I woke up with Karen and Anita and we're going to end the night with them too. [SPEAKER_08]: So, you know, all day now. [SPEAKER_11]: It's the best best sandwich. [SPEAKER_11]: Yes. [SPEAKER_11]: To go to bed with. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: I like it.
[SPEAKER_08]: Okay, so I have to ask Karen's doing she's she's going to be doing a handmaid's thing Anita. [SPEAKER_08]: Are you doing? [SPEAKER_08]: Are you going out to any of the events tomorrow? [SPEAKER_08]: Are you going to stay home and kind of monitor and post something? [SPEAKER_09]: I'm going to be there, but I'm not going to wear handmaids till being too hot. [SPEAKER_08]: Okay, what's the temperature going to be like where you are? [SPEAKER_09]: Well, it's been like 90 degrees.
[SPEAKER_09]: Oh, God, honey. [SPEAKER_08]: I'm so sorry. [SPEAKER_08]: Let's see. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, I'm so sorry. [SPEAKER_09]: Well, you know what it is. [SPEAKER_11]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_11]: I'm so sorry. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, it's been, it's been hot in LA too. [SPEAKER_08]: But we, you know, we chocked that up oftentimes to, you know, Lonnie just walking around. [SPEAKER_04]: Hey, Lonnie, the politics bar. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: But it comes to be in hot.
[SPEAKER_08]: You know, anyway. [SPEAKER_09]: So yeah, well, I'm going to be there. [SPEAKER_09]: I'm going to do one in this, uh, there's a little town outside of San Antonio that we always go to. [SPEAKER_09]: My brother and I both go. [SPEAKER_08]: Small town. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, see that's where we had Ezra live in in earlier this week. [SPEAKER_08]: That's one of the things he's from a small town in Texas Yeah, it's Tony Austin.
[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, I don't know and he's yeah, and he says look Small towns big cities suburban areas wherever you're from Go to around there are rallies there, which is good. [SPEAKER_09]: I'm sure that's the one I'm going to nice [SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, and I'm going to studio city for those that are in the LA area set the home of hope is meeting me down there.
[SPEAKER_08]: I have yet to decide whether whether I'm going to the the one that's in rest in or I could go over to Maryland where Bob and Kimberly are going to or could go downtown to DC. [SPEAKER_08]: You know, I'll figure it out the morning. [SPEAKER_08]: It's fine. [SPEAKER_08]: Whatever. [SPEAKER_11]: Well, I did text, you know, on RTS who's Stephanie's best friend. [SPEAKER_11]: She's my best friend.
[SPEAKER_11]: So my best friend I'm like because she lives in my neighborhood and I texted her yesterday I'm like, do you want to meet my house and we'll walk down? [SPEAKER_11]: She goes, honey, I'm going to New York and then she called me a legend. [SPEAKER_11]: I'm like, wait, what? [SPEAKER_02]: I looked around the room. [SPEAKER_11]: Who are you talking to?
[SPEAKER_11]: I'm like, she's going to protest in New York tomorrow, but she was so happy that I, I'm like, honey, you know, come meet with me and she couldn't. [SPEAKER_11]: So go on and she's my best friend. [SPEAKER_11]: Now, it's okay. [SPEAKER_11]: I won't. [SPEAKER_11]: We won't. [SPEAKER_08]: No, here's, here's the, here's the, we've been, we've been, we've been, we've been having this for a minute. [SPEAKER_08]: I'm not talking about it, I'm not talking about it.
[SPEAKER_08]: I'm not talking about it, I'm not talking about it.
[SPEAKER_08]: I'm not talking about it, I'm not talking about it, I'm not talking about it, I'm not talking about it, I'm not talking about it, I'm not talking about it, I'm not talking about it, I'm not talking about it, I'm not talking about it, I'm not talking about it, I'm not talking about it, I'm not talking about it, I'm not talking about it, I'm not talking about it, I'm not talking about it, I'm not talking about it, I'm not talking about it, I'm not talking about it, I'm not talking about it,
[SPEAKER_11]: He has a big finger, but it's so tiny. [SPEAKER_11]: It's like, I was doing it again today. [SPEAKER_08]: He was, he was absolutely just going off because of the fact that for those people who don't know, there are certain words that are used in national political media. [SPEAKER_08]: And Johnson and Republicans in the House got jammed.
[SPEAKER_08]: What when when somebody gets jammed whether it's a a senator or a house member or one of the bodies the house or the Senate or sometimes the president gets jammed what it means is they're running up against something that's like a post like a timing post in this case I'm sorry, but you've got over 500 now TSA agents who have quit because they got to pay their bills somewhere were in day 42 evening of day 42 of this stupid ass partial shutdown
[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, you've got you've got normally airports that have like 10 lines down to like one or two just ridiculous and understandable that you know TSA folks kind of do what they got to do the ice folks are not trained so they can't do it should not be doing it. [SPEAKER_08]: I don't know to be there to be there. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: Right. [SPEAKER_08]: Two AM last night. [SPEAKER_08]: The Senate Republicans finally go okay fine Senate Democrats are right.
[SPEAKER_08]: They came to us with a compromise anyway and they sent it back, which is pay everybody except ice and part of CBP, which is what Democrats will do for weeks. [SPEAKER_09]: At two o'clock in the morning, only like five Republican showed up, right? [SPEAKER_09]: That's what I heard. [SPEAKER_08]: Doesn't matter past. [SPEAKER_09]: I know I know that, but it's just kind of curious. [SPEAKER_08]: It is curious, but actually it's not, it's not all that curious.
[SPEAKER_08]: When the way that a lot of this legislation stuff works, sometimes is the, the, [SPEAKER_08]: The leader of whichever party communicates with all of their members anyway. [SPEAKER_08]: They have a direct phone line system. [SPEAKER_08]: They have a direct text line system. [SPEAKER_08]: So they are in constant contact with them. [SPEAKER_08]: Regardless, everybody knew like if if Thun had said, I want everybody here, they would have they would have all been there, right?
[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, they wanted to just have enough to [SPEAKER_08]: Right. [SPEAKER_08]: Also, here's another trick. [SPEAKER_08]: So what they did last night when the Senate passed it, they passed it by voice vote. [SPEAKER_08]: You guys know what that means? [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, okay. [SPEAKER_08]: I don't know if everybody here is by voice vote means they say, hey, anybody have a problem with this? [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, no. [SPEAKER_08]: Okay. [SPEAKER_08]: Then it passes.
[SPEAKER_08]: Right. [SPEAKER_08]: But what that is is also a Senate trick. [SPEAKER_08]: So that way nobody can put it Add out. [SPEAKER_08]: It says. [SPEAKER_08]: Right. [SPEAKER_08]: It's a voice vote. [SPEAKER_08]: So they go. [SPEAKER_08]: No, no, no, no. [SPEAKER_08]: Okay. [SPEAKER_08]: Then it passes. [SPEAKER_08]: So that's what that's what they did when there is a voice vote. [SPEAKER_08]: leader, both the majority leader and the minor leader have checked with all of their members.
[SPEAKER_08]: That's cool with that. [SPEAKER_08]: Common what exactly? [SPEAKER_08]: 100%. [SPEAKER_08]: That's that's the thing is with this phone tree and text tree that they have and it's been that way since long before the era of computers. [SPEAKER_08]: They have said that's that's that's always been one of the the quickest things yes or no. [SPEAKER_09]: It's okay, don't try to find an executive order. [SPEAKER_08]: Yes, but that doesn't necessarily.
[SPEAKER_08]: It doesn't hold any weight, especially because of what the Supreme Court decided literally last month in regards to the terror of this issue, because, yeah, I think he was talking about [SPEAKER_09]: I was taking that out of some puns that were Exactly. [SPEAKER_08]: I can't do it. [SPEAKER_08]: We'll talk in fact actually since we're hitting the break here, we'll explain this a little bit more for those of you who missed it in the first hour.
[SPEAKER_08]: We explained it with a pretty good analogy and this is this is something that will maybe help you guys understand it a little bit more because
[SPEAKER_08]: it's important that you guys understand how your government works and one of the important things is there is not just one great big wallet where all the money goes there's like lots of little wallets and it's important that you take the right money from the right wallets so we'll we'll explain it a little bit more uh look it is Karen and Anita from the True Blue Politics podcast because it is Friday night here at the college. [UNKNOWN]: Friday night.
[SPEAKER_08]: Joe, he corrected me, she is correct. [SPEAKER_08]: It's Friday, so fresh into your drink. [SPEAKER_08]: Come on back, you got Karen, I need it, Joe, D and me, and you, hanging out with us. [SPEAKER_08]: Here's politics bar, hang on. [SPEAKER_04]: We'll be right back after we pay some bills at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_08]: It is Friday nights.
[SPEAKER_08]: They came in a little bit ago, but we got [SPEAKER_08]: And they don't have a true blue politics podcast two of our favorite humans on the planet Look, we love having you guys simply because I mean, you know, you're fun. [SPEAKER_08]: Well, there's a lot of reasons, but the big thing is It's Matt and also when it comes to the end of the week [SPEAKER_08]: where you're like holy crap. [SPEAKER_08]: There's a lot of stuff that's happened.
[SPEAKER_08]: You guys happen to catch stuff that we don't need to catch, which is kind of nice. [SPEAKER_08]: So we definitely recommend that you subscribe to the True Boo Paul. [SPEAKER_08]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_08]: Podcast on your favorite podcast player. [SPEAKER_08]: But one of those things, Karen, you before you came into the bar here, you shot us and I missed it. [SPEAKER_08]: Johnny missed it. [SPEAKER_08]: What happened earlier today that we missed?
[SPEAKER_10]: Listen, I'm not surprised that you guys missed it. [SPEAKER_10]: I mean, it came as a surprise to me, but I was just checking out YouTube before I helped out with you guys. [SPEAKER_10]: And the Democrats, so my just touches streaming it as we speak, it started about 75 minutes ago. [SPEAKER_10]: Maybe now my just touch provides live coverage as Congresswoman, [SPEAKER_10]: on Trump's attack on children joined by experts advocates and those directly impact.
[SPEAKER_10]: So check it out. [SPEAKER_10]: Go for Mela Jaya Paul. [SPEAKER_08]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_08]: I think you might as touch folks who do that. [SPEAKER_08]: Something that some people knew about. [SPEAKER_08]: We talked about this a little bit earlier this week as well. [SPEAKER_08]: That CPAC is going on down in Texas where you are in need of. [SPEAKER_11]: And Donald and JD aren't going to be there. [SPEAKER_09]: First time in 10 years.
[SPEAKER_09]: you know what I know it's it's been 10 years since Donald Trump is Miss CPAC right and I'm you know why I think is because he's afraid that even CPAC he may get some booze oh yeah look this this goes right along with this here let me let me roll this this is on the DVR this is match slap although I I can't get out [SPEAKER_08]: I, I, I, I tend to crash your shop. [SPEAKER_08]: I call him. [SPEAKER_08]: Yes, I call him dick. [SPEAKER_08]: Right.
[SPEAKER_08]: Richard, don't, don't do not do not confuse him with the real estate guy. [SPEAKER_08]: I used to know in Lincoln, no kidding, in Lincoln, Nebraska. [SPEAKER_08]: There was a guy, Dick Schlapp, and his wife, Anita Schlapp. [SPEAKER_11]: Oh, I mean, are you kidding me?
[SPEAKER_08]: Right, and the problem was always, the problem was always, literally, because they would put their name up on this big sign, outside the real estate thing, and they would always put his name first, so it would be Dick and Anita, and then somewhere would come along and change it. [SPEAKER_08]: So then it would say, Anita, Dick's slap, and you're just, [SPEAKER_09]: Well, I don't know what slapping means now. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, we do. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, we do.
[SPEAKER_08]: Well, I don't know. [SPEAKER_08]: Mr. [SPEAKER_08]: Slap, who is the chair of CPAC? [SPEAKER_09]: This is the city's husband? [SPEAKER_08]: Yes, he is. [SPEAKER_08]: We're shady slaps. [SPEAKER_09]: Why? [SPEAKER_09]: She's working in the White House again? [SPEAKER_08]: I don't think so. [SPEAKER_08]: I don't think so. [SPEAKER_08]: Not this time. [SPEAKER_08]: But here, let me play this from CPAC. [SPEAKER_08]: You guys, this is hilarious. [SPEAKER_08]: This is hilarious.
[SPEAKER_08]: How many of you would like to see impeachment hearings? [SPEAKER_08]: No, that was the right thing. [SPEAKER_09]: See, Max, and yes! [SPEAKER_09]: And he's sitting here right now. [SPEAKER_09]: So yes, gonna get it. [SPEAKER_09]: You gonna play that? [SPEAKER_09]: We're yes, again? [SPEAKER_08]: No, I don't have that in cute of. [SPEAKER_09]: Oh, there's still caught it. [UNKNOWN]: Yeah!
[SPEAKER_08]: Look, they're, they're an awful lot of angry angry people on the right and our plenty of interviews with mainstream media where they're shocked that these people are going, you know, I was sold this bill of goods that said there would be no war and that we would get all the stuff from the Epstein files and I'm mad because I'm not getting them.
[SPEAKER_08]: Of course, the funny thing is that this, this was, yes, we played this, I believe yesterday and now we've just kind of pulled it out to the button bar that goes behind the bar, you know, the button bar is the one where we do things like that. [SPEAKER_08]: But but now we've got this permanently in our buttons bar so Donald what do you think about the people at CPAC Cheering for your impeachment. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't care.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, okay Larry said that I don't care [SPEAKER_08]: What do you think about the 13 U.S. service members who've died because you're stupid Warren around. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't care. [SPEAKER_08]: Okay, you don't want to make sure you just double check about that. [SPEAKER_08]: So, Donald, you know, people are really mad. [SPEAKER_08]: Did you know that you're disapproval rating on Fox is the highest it's ever been at 60%? [SPEAKER_01]: I don't care.
[SPEAKER_08]: Okay, just we're trying to tell you there. [SPEAKER_09]: Oh, by the way, and then he had a January 6th, okay? [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, and he's talking about the divide and the Republican party. [SPEAKER_09]: And you know what, it's patriotic to criticize your government. [SPEAKER_09]: And he was upset that there were people that were bashing people like laundry, telegrade for criticizing Donald Trump. [SPEAKER_08]: And this is what we've been talking about.
[SPEAKER_08]: How long have we been talking about this here at the bar here? [SPEAKER_08]: What about a month? [SPEAKER_08]: At least, yeah. [SPEAKER_10]: He's a terrible fascist. [SPEAKER_10]: He's the dumbest fascist ever. [SPEAKER_09]: He really is bad. [SPEAKER_09]: He is really stupid. [SPEAKER_09]: He's really bad at all. [SPEAKER_09]: What do you call it? [SPEAKER_08]: Half fascism. [SPEAKER_08]: Half fascism. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_08]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_08]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_08]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_08]: Half-ass. [SPEAKER_08]: Plus fascism equals half-assism, which is, it's absolutely perfect. [SPEAKER_08]: Although, you know, to be honest, if a half-assist shows up tomorrow, we're not going to be mean to them. [SPEAKER_08]: And any of the no kings were out of these days. [SPEAKER_08]: You know what I think of yourself.
[SPEAKER_09]: And they will try to assassinate Trump and, you know, because he's the best thing that ever happened to him. [SPEAKER_08]: Well, it's in some in some ways because now they've got somebody who is younger, more extreme, more pissed off. [SPEAKER_11]: And don't call him again. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, but yeah, but I don't matter to me if he's gay or straight. [SPEAKER_08]: Well, that's just your wife's a mother in his country.
[SPEAKER_08]: Well, except except for the fact that if he's the supreme leader now, he could do whatever he wants. [SPEAKER_08]: And he could take it. [SPEAKER_08]: Say, yeah, being LGBTQ is fine. [SPEAKER_08]: I said so. [SPEAKER_08]: I thought I talked to [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, they're actually exporting more oil than they were before. [SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, right. [SPEAKER_10]: I mean, then to be fair, our regime, you know, says that pedophilia is fine. [SPEAKER_10]: So true.
[SPEAKER_09]: You are correct young lady. [SPEAKER_09]: Yes. [SPEAKER_09]: And they use that. [SPEAKER_09]: They use that. [SPEAKER_09]: They put that, that female or of Donald Trump and bed like tweeting away. [SPEAKER_09]: And he's got his arm around a little girl crying. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, some of the memes up from their, their corners of the world are starting to make it over here.
[SPEAKER_08]: And one of the, one of the stories we have in the news on tap is actually it's a writer from Ellie Honig. [SPEAKER_08]: Talking about, asking the question outright, why is Pam Bondi ducking the F steam question? [SPEAKER_08]: She's supposed to next week by the way. [SPEAKER_08]: She's supposed to show up. [SPEAKER_08]: Suppose next Thursday, I think it is. [SPEAKER_08]: The operative phrase is supposed to.
[SPEAKER_08]: Well, but they, they've subpoenaed her the bipartisan committee and well, technically, they could enforce it and they could, they could, they could, they could, they could, they won't, they won't, it's Republicans are not going to do that. [SPEAKER_08]: They're not, they're not prosecutor. [SPEAKER_08]: They just want her to go in front of a bank of six lawyers.
[SPEAKER_08]: That's three of the Republicans picked three of the Democrats picked and answer the questions that they want to hear the answers from because there are a lot of Republicans who are like, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. [SPEAKER_08]: One of the things that came out this week, we talked about it here, was it Wednesday and Thursday, Jody? [SPEAKER_08]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_11]: I don't recall anything after the day it's done.
[SPEAKER_08]: that the the lawyer and the accounts that the tapes of those were released early of this week by the oversight committee there and they said that they were never asked by any officials in 2000 when Pammy Bondi was I believe the attorney general and George will be bush with the president yes she was yes she was and he was president
[SPEAKER_09]: Right, and in 2019 when Donald Trump was president again, again, we're not asked they were not dropped the whole evictigation into the Yep, sorry. [SPEAKER_08]: He sure did Yeah, look they they got they got all kinds of things to answer for them. [SPEAKER_08]: Trump's Dean Files are big Yeah, we've we've had some of these I think four out of five days this week in the Trump's Dean Files so [SPEAKER_09]: Here and have a good point about Bill Bartell.
[SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, well, I'm just saying that it is too date, Bill Bar remains uninvestigated by Donald Trump. [SPEAKER_10]: I agree. [SPEAKER_10]: It's an insult to him. [SPEAKER_10]: He never does it. [SPEAKER_10]: He never does it. [SPEAKER_08]: He never does it. [SPEAKER_08]: He never does it.
[SPEAKER_08]: Bar has said that if somebody's a penis in, [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, he'll probably go which but that's a thing is that I I'm waiting for the oversight committee to subpoena him which they subpoena Pam so they probably would be in a him but as far as like it might like for my Donald Trump it's very telling because member Donald had all kinds of terrible things to say about bill bar and now he doesn't say one word [SPEAKER_10]: John Bolton. [SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, they're exactly.
[SPEAKER_10]: They're looking into Democrats. [SPEAKER_08]: Well, they're looking into John Bolton. [SPEAKER_08]: You're looking in, and the former attorney general happens to know where the political bodies are buried. [SPEAKER_10]: Yes, he knows about, you know, Epstein's suicide. [SPEAKER_10]: He has linked, and he, exactly, he has links, doesn't, wasn't it like his father? [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, higher [SPEAKER_08]: Um, I don't know, trying to reverse college, but yeah, he did.
[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, or no, there's there was a was a high school. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, I think it was for a prepertory school. [SPEAKER_08]: Okay. [SPEAKER_09]: I don't remember the name of it when it was. [SPEAKER_08]: No, I remember that too. [SPEAKER_08]: But there's there's a lot more to come from those.
[SPEAKER_08]: And I am just glad that they're starting to realize that they're not all, I mean, look, yes, they may most of the, the, the magas and the America firsts, they may most of them be racist and misogynist and begoted and classist. [SPEAKER_08]: But there is a little bit of difference in any difference we can get. [SPEAKER_08]: We got a whole bunch of polls coming out. [SPEAKER_08]: We have those in the election land section today.
[SPEAKER_08]: So a new straight through numbers, Varusite poll, one out of every eight Trump voters has buyers remorse about their 20, 24 votes. [SPEAKER_11]: Oh, I just want to say, if you to them, yeah, in this latest panel, they just poll.
[SPEAKER_09]: They have, I saw like 20, something percent [SPEAKER_08]: In this in this verisite pool 13% of Donald's twenty twenty four voters say they regret their vote and if the election were read on today Kamala Harris wins by nearly three points [SPEAKER_11]: Oh my gosh, she should win by like 10, but yeah, right exactly. [SPEAKER_08]: They're also Americans who identify as Republicans, self identified Republicans. [SPEAKER_08]: It is at the lowest point in four years.
[SPEAKER_08]: There you go. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: So this is this is no joke that there is a huge intensity gap. [SPEAKER_08]: And it's reflecting to individual candidates. [SPEAKER_08]: New polling shows Ohio could be in play. [SPEAKER_08]: Sure, Brown could get back into the Senate. [SPEAKER_08]: And they have, um, [SPEAKER_08]: Oh god, what is her name? [SPEAKER_08]: I'm trying to remember who the Democratic candidate for governor is no higher. [SPEAKER_08]: She's great.
[SPEAKER_08]: I am. [SPEAKER_08]: And she's great. [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, she's great. [SPEAKER_09]: She used to be like the their health director, whatever you call it. [SPEAKER_09]: And they have a lot of people know her like her. [SPEAKER_09]: So she, yeah, well, against.
[SPEAKER_08]: They're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back, they're back,
[SPEAKER_08]: to get a hundred percent of what I want. [SPEAKER_11]: No, Johnson is hopefully the Democrats will go after him because of this. [SPEAKER_08]: And even even at the house somehow gets to a solution this evening or tomorrow, whatever if they stay in extra day. [SPEAKER_08]: The fact of the matter is, [SPEAKER_08]: Johnson going out there and standing there and saying, well, I'm not going to do this when he got jammed.
[SPEAKER_08]: When you get jammed as a general political rule in DC, it means you're running up against something that you don't have any control over. [SPEAKER_08]: And there will be consequences that will be levied on you one way or the other. [SPEAKER_08]: It's how you meet that post. [SPEAKER_08]: You guys know when we we go in and out with the music.
[SPEAKER_09]: normally like on a music radio station when you're you're hitting a song you want to talk over the song it's called heartbreak right you know what that it's that carried doesn't know at all how we know I do that they gave him that stupid america first to war i mean i don't know and here right now we're in the mountains war with a rat right but normally normally
[SPEAKER_08]: Normally when you get into these kinds of situations, you're losing on this front, you're losing on that front, you have an easy gimme like the TSA funding, the exactly, you hit the ramp, you go up and then you just kiss the post. [SPEAKER_08]: So you do the, I really hate this and I don't like the fact that they jammed us up, but you know what, will hold a vote and I'll just let the cards fall where they may. [SPEAKER_09]: I don't, but yeah, right.
[SPEAKER_08]: But Tiny Johnson didn't act like an adult today. [SPEAKER_08]: He's like, you know what? [SPEAKER_08]: I'm going to send the same bill back that the Senate told us to sit on and screw. [SPEAKER_08]: I'm going to send that, but it's like, dude, you sent that over like a half dozen times and every single time you're eating. [SPEAKER_08]: John Thun, it's never going to get passed over here. [SPEAKER_08]: Right. [SPEAKER_08]: So you have to find a compromise.
[SPEAKER_08]: And Thun says, this is the compromise. [SPEAKER_08]: This is, [SPEAKER_09]: if he done well, and that's why we're frustrated getting tired of all of this is that John Kennedy dude from the weekend. [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, we told on Donald Trump he didn't know we had a agreement. [SPEAKER_09]: He did and actually some no go go ahead and he had a good no he just said and he wouldn't he said he won't sign it you know you don't you don't compromise you don't cooperate with the Democrats.
[SPEAKER_08]: Well, here's the thing. [SPEAKER_08]: Here's the thing. [SPEAKER_08]: We've got another story that's in the news on tap. [SPEAKER_08]: The talks about the stupid foreign wars that Donald has. [SPEAKER_08]: And in fact, some of these people, some of the actual staffers at the White House, are so distraught.
[SPEAKER_08]: The cost of this internal dissent, they are leaking about the fact that there is a staff divide over their ran war, and that Donald Trump has grown bored with the war. [SPEAKER_09]: He's bored. [SPEAKER_09]: He's bored. [SPEAKER_09]: He's not funny anymore. [SPEAKER_09]: That was not fun anymore because he was losing and he knows it and it's getting hard.
[SPEAKER_08]: He didn't like hard things and when we talk about ramping up and hitting the post, that's the idea of you get a political gimme like right now and music's going we're gonna hit the post here at the end here it'll be really nice and tight. [SPEAKER_08]: But the way it is is you try to get there you're like oh I'm gonna do this and if somebody gives you the opportunity you take it and right now tiny Johnson is not taking it. [SPEAKER_08]: So we'll go anyway.
[SPEAKER_08]: Look, it is Friday night, we've got at least one more segment with you guys, and if you want to do the after hours, we'll do more. [SPEAKER_08]: He is. [SPEAKER_08]: He's an idiot. [SPEAKER_08]: Look, fresh in your drink. [SPEAKER_08]: Come right back. [SPEAKER_08]: We've got Karen. [SPEAKER_08]: We've got Anita. [SPEAKER_08]: We've got Jody. [SPEAKER_08]: We've got me. [SPEAKER_08]: And of course, we've got you. [SPEAKER_08]: Hangin' out with us.
[SPEAKER_08]: Here at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_04]: Fresh in your drink. [SPEAKER_04]: Come right back. [SPEAKER_08]: It's like a nice, here's the politics bar. [SPEAKER_08]: I always like this. [SPEAKER_11]: This should be a whole thing. [SPEAKER_08]: The language games that we play. [SPEAKER_08]: Well, you guys are away. [SPEAKER_08]: Look, we've got to turn the microphones off sometimes. [SPEAKER_08]: So, you know, you can do the payment thing.
[SPEAKER_08]: But look, the best thing you can do to help us out. [SPEAKER_08]: Because you're like, we have fun. [SPEAKER_08]: We love this. [SPEAKER_08]: How can we help? [SPEAKER_08]: The best way you guys can help us, subscribe at the politicsbar.com. [SPEAKER_08]: We know some of you subscribe on your favorite podcast app, and that's perfectly fine. [SPEAKER_08]: But if you subscribe at the politicsbar.com, $6 a month, a buck 50 a week is what it breaks down to.
[SPEAKER_08]: Look, you get the podcast ad free, you get the news on tap, and you get the drink of the day with the recipe. [SPEAKER_08]: It's all there checking out. [SPEAKER_08]: That's it the politicsbar.com.
[SPEAKER_08]: These two are playing their two of these three wonderful women that I'm hanging with are playing their musical instruments They're invisible musical instruments because Yeah, well, they were they were you know trying to distract me, but no, no, no, no. [SPEAKER_11]: No, that's what BDD does [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, he does that all the time, which is great. [SPEAKER_11]: I remind you, he, like, told me. [SPEAKER_08]: He does, he says his goal is to try to throw me off.
[SPEAKER_08]: And I will admit that I was thrown off earlier tonight. [SPEAKER_08]: I did finally drop an F bomb on the air. [SPEAKER_08]: And so, what the hell was I doing? [SPEAKER_08]: Well, I think all of us are stressed out. [SPEAKER_08]: We are frustrated because of the fact more now. [SPEAKER_09]: Oh, yeah, I know it's definitely not to. [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, yeah, epic mad. [SPEAKER_08]: I mean, we're mad because some of this stuff is just so simple.
[SPEAKER_08]: It's like, you know, it's [SPEAKER_08]: Well, that's just it. [SPEAKER_08]: The whole TSA funding thing, for example, is I'm sorry, but you do not get everything you want. [SPEAKER_08]: No. [SPEAKER_08]: This is a democracy. [SPEAKER_08]: Nobody gets everything. [SPEAKER_09]: Oh, come from. [SPEAKER_09]: What happened when Biden was in the White House? [SPEAKER_09]: And he was dealing with Republicans who threatened the shut the government down. [SPEAKER_09]: He'd met with them.
[SPEAKER_09]: He compromised. [SPEAKER_09]: They got a little. [SPEAKER_09]: He got a little. [SPEAKER_09]: and kept the government open. [SPEAKER_09]: Right. [SPEAKER_09]: Donald Trump just says, no, no. [SPEAKER_09]: I'm not going to do anything. [SPEAKER_09]: You have the government down. [SPEAKER_09]: He doesn't have hair. [SPEAKER_09]: Well, he doesn't care. [SPEAKER_09]: He doesn't care. [SPEAKER_09]: He doesn't care. [SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't care. [SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't care.
[SPEAKER_10]: Right. [SPEAKER_10]: He doesn't care. [SPEAKER_10]: I mean, and in the real news situation is there is was a bipartisan immigration bill on the table. [SPEAKER_10]: They're Donald Trump killed. [SPEAKER_10]: Donald Trump killed that. [SPEAKER_08]: Look, Donald Trump has killed a number of things like that. [SPEAKER_08]: This particular deal, Donald, he said he wasn't going to be happy with any deal.
[SPEAKER_08]: So if he's not going to be happy with any deal that comes across his desk, send him whatever. [SPEAKER_08]: And just do it. [SPEAKER_08]: Make him veto it. [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_08]: I can't do that. [SPEAKER_08]: Who knew that? [SPEAKER_09]: I can't do that. [SPEAKER_09]: I can't do that. [SPEAKER_09]: I can't do that. [SPEAKER_09]: I can't do that. [SPEAKER_09]: Go ahead. [SPEAKER_08]: Go ahead. [SPEAKER_09]: Go ahead. [SPEAKER_09]: Go ahead.
[SPEAKER_08]: Go ahead. [SPEAKER_08]: Go ahead. [SPEAKER_08]: They're like we were saying earlier, there are some political things that are political certainties. [SPEAKER_08]: And this is one of those things where by Johnson going out there, whether the House ends up passing this compromise that the Senate Republicans and Democrats came up with, and yeah, Republicans had some say, I know Johnson is trying to say they didn't, but whatever.
[SPEAKER_08]: Um, the fact of the matter is, uh, it's still going to make every Republican, especially every house Republican. [SPEAKER_08]: Look bad. [SPEAKER_08]: I'm not, I don't want to have it. [SPEAKER_08]: Look, I'm glad. [SPEAKER_08]: I'm hoping Democrats pick up 50 seats in the house. [SPEAKER_08]: It would be great.
[SPEAKER_08]: But. [SPEAKER_08]: politically speaking if if Johnson is honest about what he's and we know he's not a lot of times but let's assume that he was being honest in saying well my job is is to protect the people okay well in order to protect the people you have to be getting them paid and you're not doing that and if your next job is protect your political caucus so protect the Republicans in the house not doing that by going out exactly
[SPEAKER_08]: by going out there and making a big huge honk and deal of it, the best thing, the best option that Johnson could have had, it's fine, it's fine, it's Friday night, it's not.
[SPEAKER_08]: The best option that Johnson could have had was to do what every single speaker, Republican or Democratic, or whatever party, all the way back, has done in a similar situation when they get jammed, which is to say [SPEAKER_08]: You go in front of the media, whatever the media of the time is, and you say, I don't like this. [SPEAKER_08]: I don't agree with it. [SPEAKER_08]: I'm unhappy with it, but I'm going to put it on the floor for a vote.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: Whatever happens. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: You don't go back to the thing that is already not worked. [SPEAKER_08]: And shove that back across to the Senate, because the Senate will just shove back across what they already did if they did the work. [SPEAKER_08]: And I don't like the fact that it took the Senate forever to do it, but clearly the Senate did the work, and they got to compromise.
[SPEAKER_08]: You know, it's it there and go, I'm not going to compromise with everybody because I didn't do what I want. [SPEAKER_09]: Okay, hurting them is when people people are saying these airports. [SPEAKER_09]: Yes, when on there people are experiencing it. [SPEAKER_09]: Yep, and these TSA workers not being paid. [SPEAKER_08]: It is a very historical experience and people who thought that it did any of any of you guys here on the microphones did anybody here.
[SPEAKER_08]: I know something out here in the bar did anybody think that we would all be citing with TSA at any point in all of this. [SPEAKER_08]: We're all on the, we're like, we're don't it, we're like, there are people who are donating gift cards of food and gas and everything. [SPEAKER_08]: There are people who are tipping 20s and 50s to the TSA agents. [SPEAKER_09]: I feel so bad for them. [SPEAKER_08]: I do too. [SPEAKER_09]: They're having to take second jobs because they can't.
[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, or what? [SPEAKER_09]: And there's one more contest at TSA. [SPEAKER_11]: Six. [SPEAKER_11]: And people hate TSA. [SPEAKER_11]: I mean, going through the line. [SPEAKER_11]: I'm nice to them, but it's like, it's really. [SPEAKER_11]: They're just doing a job. [SPEAKER_10]: They're doing their jobs, yeah. [SPEAKER_08]: And we all and we all get that and it's, you know, we get frustrated about that, too.
[SPEAKER_08]: But I think that is going back to the why people are cursing more. [SPEAKER_08]: I think that's why is that the fact that, well, us both on air and, you know, maybe the after hours if you guys have time for that. [SPEAKER_08]: But that's the the idea is that we're all cursing more because we're like, look, [SPEAKER_08]: If you hit your thumb with a hammer, you're doing some work this weekend on Sunday after you've done the no kinks thing on Saturday.
[SPEAKER_08]: Whatever, you're, you know, maybe you're doing some dishes and you slam the the door and on your thumb. [SPEAKER_08]: Oh, you're you're gonna curse. [SPEAKER_08]: You're gonna you're gonna say something. [SPEAKER_08]: Um, maybe you're, uh, cutting, um, lines or something. [SPEAKER_08]: And you know, you're, you're going to curse.
[SPEAKER_08]: These are all, like, times that we know, but it's the fact that people just in regular speech are cursing so much more, especially when they're talking about our politics, because we're going, this is so stupid. [SPEAKER_08]: This is just unbelievably dumb and avoidable. [SPEAKER_09]: More politicians. [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, I've noticed that they're saying, [SPEAKER_09]: I mean, what else are they saying Anita?
[SPEAKER_08]: That's not swear because it's because we're all it's because we're all frustrated. [SPEAKER_08]: I think that's also one of the reasons why tomorrow is going to be so joyous and so helpful It's gonna be a release.
[SPEAKER_08]: It's gonna be a release for everybody who is on well, remember when we talked as a little bit of indivisible who said he thought Bruce Bartlett's label for it is good the broad left [SPEAKER_08]: Which was Bruce Bartlett, you know, guy who wrote many people blame for the trickle down thing and he's right to be blamed by the way. [SPEAKER_08]: Well, yeah, he was doing his job too. [SPEAKER_08]: I know. [SPEAKER_02]: I look he's a friend of mine. [SPEAKER_08]: Right.
[SPEAKER_08]: You know, we have around. [SPEAKER_08]: We yeah, we he and I we've just talked to him earlier today, too. [SPEAKER_08]: And he's just like, man, he says, I just he wants Bruce Bartlett of all people and Joe Walsh, who we talked to. [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, he's long gone now, but I'm just I don't think he was a stockman was that his name four years back.
[SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, this was this was number years back and and I think what you're getting out of need is didn't didn't he say that that he that he wished Democrats would be more firm. [SPEAKER_08]: Because that's a Bruce was talking about. [SPEAKER_09]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_09]: Who is the guy? [SPEAKER_09]: It was a Donald Trump. [SPEAKER_09]: Ronald Reagan's Trump's economic advisor. [SPEAKER_08]: Stockman was in there, yeah. [SPEAKER_09]: And he's the one who criticized it.
[SPEAKER_09]: So this isn't going to work out. [SPEAKER_09]: And then there was the one guy cover on Time Magazine. [SPEAKER_11]: I believe it's softman. [SPEAKER_11]: I think she's right. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, but I do I don't want to you know, I'm going back to the other point is just the fact that What you know what we've got our friends Joe Walts is another one of shared your cobbis is another one. [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, who is said?
[SPEAKER_08]: I want the quality of Democrats to be, I want you to be more assertive. [SPEAKER_08]: You don't have to be aggressive. [SPEAKER_08]: Yep. [SPEAKER_08]: Um, look, when it comes to being aggressive, uh, we all know that Joe Rogan is aggressive.
[SPEAKER_07]: But the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the,
[SPEAKER_07]: And uninteresting, unintelgent people that have got something they claim to and there's a lot of people that are just real genuine patriots. [SPEAKER_07]: And they're all lumped into this one group and you got to accept the dorks too. [SPEAKER_07]: that. [SPEAKER_07]: I got to say, look, he has so many apps. [SPEAKER_09]: He still doesn't get it.
[SPEAKER_08]: No, no, he doesn't, but the fact of the matter is people are frustrated because some of the most basic things like democracy, like the idea in a democracy that nobody gets 100% of what they want. [SPEAKER_08]: true. [SPEAKER_08]: It is it is it's one of the most basic. [SPEAKER_08]: It's it's like knowing there are 26 letters in the English alphabet. [SPEAKER_08]: You go, okay. [SPEAKER_08]: It's like, I mean, it is such a thing.
[SPEAKER_09]: He's trying to separate himself from the man. [SPEAKER_09]: He's trying to. [SPEAKER_08]: Yes, yes. [SPEAKER_08]: Well, he's always he's always been. [SPEAKER_09]: No, he knows things are going. [SPEAKER_09]: He knows he can see the writing on the wall. [SPEAKER_09]: It is your whole to be back right now. [SPEAKER_09]: Well, he's trying to act like that wasn't me. [SPEAKER_08]: Well, the manless fear people like him have always kind of been on their own.
[SPEAKER_11]: Oh, it's called the mass fears on Netflix. [SPEAKER_11]: Oh, my god. [SPEAKER_11]: I see Ronnie watch it last night. [SPEAKER_11]: Oh, my is it is it the documentary years ago. [SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, it's insanely awful. [SPEAKER_08]: Okay, well, there you go, but look, they've, they've, they've been awful in multiple ways long before they back Trump. [SPEAKER_08]: They've been awful in a lot of days.
[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not looking for him. [SPEAKER_08]: I'm not apologizing for him. [SPEAKER_08]: He was, he was mega and now he was, he was, he was, he was, he was, in the same way that America first is similar but different from mega. [SPEAKER_08]: They're, they're, they're awful. [SPEAKER_08]: Right, Bill Mark. [SPEAKER_08]: God, there are things that Bill Mark agrees with on them.
[SPEAKER_08]: Marjorie Taylor Greene agreed with us on the episode. [SPEAKER_09]: I would have felt a little more maga, but I would have not. [SPEAKER_08]: He's not maga, but they're so close. [SPEAKER_09]: They're a piece of the degrees. [SPEAKER_09]: I mean, he's not very smart. [SPEAKER_08]: He says Bill. [SPEAKER_08]: Bill Mar, Bill Mar has his own lane. [SPEAKER_08]: He does his own things. [SPEAKER_08]: And that's where I'm saying the the brocasters.
[SPEAKER_08]: They pick a little from this and a little from that. [SPEAKER_08]: They try to go and Joe Logan, but Joe. [SPEAKER_08]: Joe Rogan had tele Rico on and said that it should be pretty bad. [SPEAKER_09]: No. [SPEAKER_09]: No. [SPEAKER_09]: These guys make me crazy. [SPEAKER_09]: Okay. [SPEAKER_09]: They ran around. [SPEAKER_09]: Joe Rogan was a burning guy. [SPEAKER_09]: A burning bro. [SPEAKER_09]: Mm-hmm. [SPEAKER_09]: Do they really believe in anything?
[SPEAKER_08]: That's no. [SPEAKER_08]: I need if that's what I mean. [SPEAKER_08]: They do. [SPEAKER_08]: I'm saying they do their own thing. [SPEAKER_08]: They pick like a smorg. [SPEAKER_08]: They pick. [SPEAKER_08]: They share a report. [SPEAKER_08]: Right. [SPEAKER_08]: Sure. [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_09]: They more. [SPEAKER_09]: It's more shared picking than a smorg. [SPEAKER_09]: Right.
[SPEAKER_09]: Because you're a [SPEAKER_08]: But when it comes to the talk, when it comes to us, the couple who are going to be out in the no kings rallies this weekend, we're more on the broad left. [SPEAKER_08]: And if somebody on this particular issue wants to come out and say, I am angry about this and I'm frustrated about the way the government is going, great, so are we. [SPEAKER_08]: As long as you're not a jerk about it, come out, celebrate with us, let your voice be heard about this.
[SPEAKER_08]: Obviously, we're going to have disagreements, even with some of the people on our, when you're talking to the broad left, there's a lot of us in there. [SPEAKER_08]: But the fact of the matter is we're still in a democracy. [SPEAKER_08]: What matters is the fact that there are more of us on whatever it is. [SPEAKER_08]: And we need to make sure everybody comes out as many people as we can tomorrow. [SPEAKER_08]: There's no Kings rally everywhere. [SPEAKER_08]: It's my birthday.
[SPEAKER_08]: It's my birthday. [SPEAKER_09]: It's my birthday girl. [SPEAKER_09]: It's my birthday. [SPEAKER_08]: It's my birthday. [SPEAKER_08]: It's my birthday to you. [SPEAKER_10]: Can I say happy birthday to my husband? [SPEAKER_10]: It's his birthday today. [SPEAKER_08]: Nice. [SPEAKER_08]: Your birthday is today. [SPEAKER_08]: And your sister, Marl? [SPEAKER_08]: Yep. [SPEAKER_08]: All right. [SPEAKER_08]: Everybody look. [SPEAKER_08]: You have to sing happy birthday to Marl.
[SPEAKER_08]: The no kings rally. [SPEAKER_08]: Especially to Chicago for caring. [SPEAKER_08]: We will. [SPEAKER_08]: We will. [SPEAKER_08]: Just send them to us. [SPEAKER_08]: Look. [SPEAKER_08]: Can we have you guys for the after hours? [SPEAKER_11]: Because there's more to talk about. [SPEAKER_08]: And then we can actually swear with on me having to flip it to the next week of course we got Brooklyn Dad to fight and we happen to have Kimberly Johnson next week as well.
[SPEAKER_08]: I hope you're safe and be smart and enjoy those no kings rallies and we'll see everybody back here Monday night at the politics
