[SPEAKER_06]: Go to the bar. [SPEAKER_06]: It's political. [SPEAKER_06]: It's political. [SPEAKER_06]: Thank you, radical. [SPEAKER_06]: You think it's the bar, whoever you are, the politics bar. [SPEAKER_06]: Shotsmith, Pearson, Jody Hamilton. [SPEAKER_05]: Hey, Johnny. [SPEAKER_05]: What's your on? [SPEAKER_02]: It is Tuesday, Tuesday. [SPEAKER_02]: And it's an election day, which is good. [SPEAKER_02]: There's elections in Mississippi and Georgia today.

[SPEAKER_02]: So if you're listening to us live and it's early enough, and you are still in line, stay in line, don't let anybody kick you out. [SPEAKER_02]: Stay in line. [SPEAKER_02]: Stay in line. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, uh, so we won't actually have any lines here tonight because Jared is coming in to help us here at the bar tonight because which is pretty good. [SPEAKER_02]: He's always good to help out around the bar and of course help out with all the discussion of stuff as well.

[SPEAKER_02]: Big thanks by the way to all of you coming to the bar from what? [SPEAKER_02]: ever corner of the world you are, whether that is am 950 Minneapolis St. Paul or the team tour talk in Tennessee, maybe you're coming to us from Georgia now radio in Atlanta or WCPT AMA 20 Chicago or maybe maybe you're listening to progressive voices radio worldwide somewhere else on the planet or you be in the space station listening. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm fine with that. [SPEAKER_02]: We love you.

[SPEAKER_02]: We're every listening. [SPEAKER_02]: Also, thank you very much to all of you for your job people. [SPEAKER_02]: who are on the podcast listening. [SPEAKER_02]: And of course, you know, if you are a feature people, well, that it's one of the nice things you can do for us. [SPEAKER_02]: You can go and subscribe at the politicsbar.com. [SPEAKER_02]: I know, you're like, yeah, I get it free on my app.

[SPEAKER_02]: You do, but then you have to listen to ads, which we can a little bit from those. [SPEAKER_02]: But if you go to the politicsbar.com, you get the podcast for free. [SPEAKER_02]: No ads, plus you get the nice little tip to Jody and me, and it helps out. [SPEAKER_02]: And you get the drink of the day with a recipe, and you happen to get the news on tap. [SPEAKER_02]: It's all there. [SPEAKER_02]: Check it out at thepoliticsbar.com.

[SPEAKER_02]: By the way, uh, uh, one of those people who is a subscriber, and she always loves to reach out to us. [SPEAKER_02]: Julie via Substack, she said about yesterday's drink of the day. [SPEAKER_02]: She says, tell Jody, I love all the barbie stuff. [SPEAKER_02]: And Jody and Amanda's music video is way cool. [SPEAKER_05]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_05]: I think turn on our page and we had fun and man and I had fun doing that because it was silly.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's fun and it's also fun to have everybody, you know, people will come into the bar and you know, make comments and things like that. [SPEAKER_02]: It's great for them to have people be part of the fun here. [SPEAKER_02]: We're glad when you guys say, hey, thanks. [SPEAKER_02]: We like this, or you're like, have you thought about that? [SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, it's a lot of fun. [SPEAKER_02]: News today, um, okay, it's just freaking weird.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's just, are we at war? [SPEAKER_02]: Are we not at war? [SPEAKER_02]: Who's to say? [SPEAKER_02]: We're at war. [SPEAKER_02]: Uh-huh. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_02]: Jodie is correct. [SPEAKER_02]: We are actually there. [SPEAKER_02]: There is, in fact, a war going on, but if you were just listening to the Trump folks, you wouldn't necessarily know it here, seen and slapped his montage together earlier. [SPEAKER_03]: This is not a rack. [SPEAKER_03]: This is not endless.

[SPEAKER_03]: Oh. [SPEAKER_04]: Already. [SPEAKER_04]: substantially ahead of our time projection. [SPEAKER_04]: He'll wait. [SPEAKER_04]: We have objective. [SPEAKER_04]: We will do this as long as it takes to achieve those objectives. [SPEAKER_00]: The achievable objectives of Operation Epic Fury, we expect to last about four to six weeks. [SPEAKER_03]: This is only just the beginning. [SPEAKER_04]: We've already won in many ways, but we haven't won enough. [SPEAKER_05]: What does that mean?

[SPEAKER_02]: They don't know and the way that you can tell that they don't even have a real objective is they don't have anything to stand by They don't have a line. [SPEAKER_02]: They don't one of the things that is is it's great to have the experience of being in media and having produced like you know like okay [SPEAKER_02]: when you've worked on a set for any show and you happen to know that the people behind it know what they're doing.

[SPEAKER_02]: They're organized, there is kind of a theme. [SPEAKER_02]: You could almost put a word or phrase or a song or a picture. [SPEAKER_02]: To that particular, whatever that production is, right? [SPEAKER_02]: And everybody on the picture, whether they're in front of the camera, behind the camera, on the mic, whatever, everybody gets it, everybody gets the idea behind it. [SPEAKER_02]: It's a overall theme. [SPEAKER_02]: There's no theme.

[SPEAKER_02]: No. [SPEAKER_02]: There's no reason for this. [SPEAKER_02]: And they can articulate it. [SPEAKER_02]: And they can't say, well, we just did this for, you know, S and Gs. [SPEAKER_02]: We just did this for the hell of it. [SPEAKER_02]: Because that's that's what we decided to do. [SPEAKER_02]: We, you know, let's go to war with hell. [SPEAKER_02]: They don't have any single meaning for this and any single reason for this.

[SPEAKER_05]: At least the Bush administration have the deacency did lie us properly. [SPEAKER_02]: Both Bush administrations did. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so we'll definitely talk with Jared about this.

[SPEAKER_02]: But senior, they went through and they went to Congress and they went to the U.N. and they built their case and they had an exit strategy and they went in [SPEAKER_02]: Junior winning and half-assed into Congress and pushed Colin Powell to lie about it to the UN and lied about it to the world and we were there for almost 20 years. [SPEAKER_02]: These jackasses are like whatever.

[SPEAKER_05]: They don't realize that the Iranians, especially those who lost family members so far, have long memories. [SPEAKER_02]: Well, considering that considering that we started mucking about over there 70 some odd years. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but but you see that for Donald Jody. [SPEAKER_04]: This is it's just a little excursion country is doing really well. [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, at a level that nobody thought we took a little excursion.

[SPEAKER_04]: Speaking of we had to do that to get rid of some people. [SPEAKER_05]: So wait, he had to do the excursion to get rid of some evil and killed how many little girls about 160 some odd. [SPEAKER_02]: least, according to Donald, they must have been, because I thought he was going to liberate the civilians. [SPEAKER_02]: Well, he did. [SPEAKER_02]: He liberated them from them. [SPEAKER_05]: From their lives. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, that's true. [SPEAKER_05]: Right.

[SPEAKER_05]: And going to school. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Last time I checked, I think I heard from CNN earlier today, CNN and ABC's news streamers were about the same. [SPEAKER_02]: I think they said somewhere in the range of, [SPEAKER_02]: 18, 14 to 1800 somewhere in there, people across the Middle East, mostly in a man, either killed or harmed. [SPEAKER_02]: So, you know. [SPEAKER_02]: But, oh, Caroline, Caroline had a number that she tried to just drop and run.

[SPEAKER_02]: You know, like a flaming bag of turd on somebody's porch in her little presser today and her little song and dance she goes through the whole thing and then she gets near the end just like, oh yeah, Pentagon is reporting a 140 injuries so far of US service people. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, well, we had mentioned them, but okay, by the way, I gotta go by. [SPEAKER_02]: That was that's Caroline today.

[SPEAKER_05]: Well, because I know that some people have been trying to get in touch with their relatives that are in the area and aren't able to reach [SPEAKER_05]: Because if this we're going as well as they say it is, we would have tape weed have. [SPEAKER_05]: We'll sure all sorts of stuff. [SPEAKER_02]: But in order for them to get to us, Jody, they would have to actually walk here.

[SPEAKER_02]: And grandpa, well, he's got some to say about that too, yesterday to the Republicans down in Florida. [SPEAKER_04]: All of the people that died through the roadside bombs died and are right now walking around with no legs, no arms. [SPEAKER_02]: Show to you is correct. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, this would be a lot more funny if it weren't actually, you know, killing Americans, killing other people, harming the entire economy of the whole world.

[SPEAKER_02]: It'd be a, it'd be hilarious if it weren't, you know, if this were just fictional on some crappy TV show, this might be kind of funny. [SPEAKER_02]: It's not. [SPEAKER_02]: But it, yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, seriously, who the hell would believe as the president who says literally says stuff like that?

[SPEAKER_02]: All the people walking around that died the roadside bombs walking around with no arms and then I'll play it again, just for those people who were like, no, he didn't actually say that. [SPEAKER_02]: No, he did. [SPEAKER_04]: Of the role of the people that died through the roadside bombs died and are right now walking around with no legs, no arms.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that was literally yesterday at 557 p.m. Eastern time in Darrell, Florida at his golf course to a bunch of house Republicans. [SPEAKER_02]: Now, you would think members of Congress, they are responsible to the people who elected them, which reminder there are elections going on right now. [SPEAKER_02]: And there are primary elections have already started.

[SPEAKER_02]: So you would think that Republicans [SPEAKER_02]: would actually, if there was somebody actually saying this kind of stuff, they'd start in peach mint processes, this name was Joe Biden, they would. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but no Donald Trump. [SPEAKER_02]: No, no, no. [SPEAKER_02]: Well, I mean, for example, the war according to Donald Trump exists in a state of flux. [SPEAKER_02]: It is and is not a war at exactly the same time.

[SPEAKER_01]: president you said the war is quote very complete but your defense secretary says this is just the beginning so which is it and how long should Americans be well i think it could say about the beginning it's the beginning of building a new country but i thought they weren't going to do regime change see how easy this is when you actually know the facts [SPEAKER_02]: And this is what our brains hurt. [SPEAKER_02]: It is. [SPEAKER_02]: It's extremely tiring.

[SPEAKER_02]: And this is, and this is why so many of us are absolutely tired because we're like, okay, it's a war. [SPEAKER_05]: And he's like, well, it is, except for when I say it isn't. [SPEAKER_02]: Except for what I say, and we're almost done with our goals, which we haven't stated. [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: Except for if you ask Kegbreath, who says, there's a lot of water left to go.

[SPEAKER_05]: I just, I... [SPEAKER_02]: The reason why I laugh is because if I wasn't laughing, crying, yes, because what the F, meanwhile, as PBS News hour noted earlier today over on Blue Sky, the actual average gas price was $3.48 a gallon on Monday, up $2.90 from a month ago, and a Cabrera this morning said that gas prices are up another five cents overnight last night, it's nearly 60 cents, basically in about 11 days. [SPEAKER_02]: yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: How about them eggs?

[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, by the way, we were joking on Stephanie's show this morning. [SPEAKER_05]: Don't eat eggs because those are unborn fetuses. [SPEAKER_02]: I heard that and I loved that. [SPEAKER_02]: I was like moe. [SPEAKER_02]: You're brilliant. [SPEAKER_02]: That was that was freaking brilliant. [SPEAKER_02]: They can't have any except for the elites. [SPEAKER_02]: The elites can have eggs because they're there. [SPEAKER_05]: I don't mind needing unborn fetuses.

[SPEAKER_02]: I did enjoy the fact that Steph enjoyed the Lindsey Graham and it and so did Charlie Pierce for that matter and so did both. [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, look, it's it's very clear. [SPEAKER_02]: It's very simple. [SPEAKER_02]: It was one interview on Fox Business with Maria Bartiromo. [SPEAKER_02]: This took me like three minor edits and Lindsey Graham just says we're going to be on our knees. [SPEAKER_02]: We're going to blow the hell out of these people.

[SPEAKER_04]: Best money ever spent. [SPEAKER_05]: That's money year we're spent. [SPEAKER_05]: He gets very southern when he talks about war Hey, oh, when he gets worked up when when he gets his dad's accent gets super thick. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, I just Wow And it's not like it's not like any of this is is surprising

[SPEAKER_02]: to any of us that this is this is in some ways when when Trump and his cabal say this is the most transparent yes we you are transparent in the fact that you people are idiots we all know what you're trying to do at least one of the things that they're trying to do is just be a bully and shove everybody around yes and one of the things that trying to do is distract from the abstain files

[SPEAKER_02]: And of course, you also have the let's distract you from the economy that we really haven't done anything about and is actually pretty crap and then they're yeah, I mean, it's just it's I mean, they're transparent in that we know what they're doing, but they're not transparent in the sense that they don't act. [SPEAKER_02]: They're not actually honest. [SPEAKER_02]: They don't actually tell us they're not honest brokers right.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, speaking of which those insurance brokers, the ones who were kind of like, uh, not the property brothers, they kind of did big property stuff and whatever, uh, yeah, they're all going to jail. [SPEAKER_05]: And apparently they were friends with Jared Kushner. [SPEAKER_02]: does not surprise me for multiple reasons. [SPEAKER_02]: We've got that down in the news on tap. [SPEAKER_02]: We'll talk about that a little bit later today, too.

[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, there's look, there is some accountability happening out there. [SPEAKER_02]: And while the immigration wars are not front and center, they are still going on. [SPEAKER_02]: We'll talk about that today as well. [SPEAKER_02]: Of course. [SPEAKER_02]: Pardon me. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, right there. [SPEAKER_02]: Well, I had a little bit of a drink before, you know, we turned on the microphones here, because, you know, just remember, do not chug your drinks.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's not a good idea. [SPEAKER_02]: You know, you might spill something on yourself and then you'd be like, hey, come here. [SPEAKER_02]: Can you come help? [SPEAKER_02]: And maybe you have to pick up the phone to tell us. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm just saying it's entirely possible.

[SPEAKER_02]: You have to pick up a phone to call somebody to help clean up when you sometimes what maybe maybe I don't speak in which we will do the drink of the day a little bit later Jared Rizzy as we mentioned is coming in and we will talk all about the news on tap Yes, there's war, but there's also other things including some good stuff down in the entertainment section. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh by the way, it is also Mario day [SPEAKER_02]: I'll explain that if you don't know.

[SPEAKER_02]: Fresh in your drink and come right back. [SPEAKER_07]: It is Tuesday night here at the Politics Bar. [SPEAKER_02]: It's a Tuesday night here up the politics bar. [SPEAKER_02]: Thank you very much for hanging out with Jody and me and Lonnie the politics bar. [SPEAKER_02]: See he doesn't better say he does. [SPEAKER_02]: Thank you very much for everybody who you know connects with us on all of our great social media platforms.

[SPEAKER_02]: And of course he dials us up on the bar line two on three six seven seven seventy two fifty eight. [SPEAKER_02]: That's two one three six seven seven.

[SPEAKER_02]: seven to five eight or two one three six seven seven salt like in you Margarita brother David he may be dialing us up on Friday we got to get a get a little review of the Oscars coming up from him so we'll be talking to him sometime this week so by the way thank you to everybody who reaches out on blue sky and threads and Instagram and Facebook and Substack and Twitter and YouTube [SPEAKER_02]: We're at the politics bar on all of those.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, my, my pup Christopher is like, Dad, I'm here too. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I know you're in the bar. [SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, buddy. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I'm, I'm aware. [SPEAKER_02]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_02]: I know Mom came in the back. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, she's in the back office. [SPEAKER_02]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, anyone. [SPEAKER_02]: He's just like, he's now right up on my leg. [SPEAKER_02]: He's like, Dad, I am here. [SPEAKER_02]: You need to pay attention to me.

[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, I'm, I'm on the air with all these people. [SPEAKER_02]: There's, you know, quarter million people out there listening. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_02]: And that's that's how that goes. [SPEAKER_02]: You know, you know, you're you're catching just walked right in front of a microphone right for the camera. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, she's cat, but right there. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, she's sitting on the other chair now. [SPEAKER_02]: She's sitting on the other chair.

[SPEAKER_02]: She has deemed that you can actually talk into my. [SPEAKER_05]: The ears are doing this, though, to me. [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_05]: You know how they do that. [SPEAKER_05]: She's like, are you talking about me? [SPEAKER_02]: You talking about me, you talking about me, you talking about me, you talking about me, you talking about me, you talking about me, it would be easier if these idiots in the Trump.

[SPEAKER_02]: He actually did have, I mean, they do kind of have that attitude. [SPEAKER_02]: We know Kegbrett does, oh, oh, speaking of which, we'll do more in that first round, but I do want to jump around a little bit here because in the war on good government section, that's down under the third round, uh, [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, keg breath is wasted again. [SPEAKER_02]: Well, actually, he's just wasting stuff.

[SPEAKER_02]: Depends department in 2025 on a keg breath wasted billions on fruit baskets stands chairs crab and lobster tail for whom I don't know obviously a whole bunch of people. [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, they they blew money out there, but and he's huge Yeah [SPEAKER_02]: Nope. [SPEAKER_02]: Nope. [SPEAKER_02]: Nope. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, also, by the way, uh, Secretary Nome, uh, former Secretary, no, uh, her 28-year-old aide wasted millions on unusable ice vehicles.

[SPEAKER_02]: Because what's one of the big things that that people who are on the streets for ice? [SPEAKER_02]: Well, what's something that they all have in common? [SPEAKER_05]: They don't want to be identified. [SPEAKER_02]: So this aid got a whole bunch of these cars with fancy decals. [SPEAKER_02]: It says ice all over them announcing, here we are. [SPEAKER_05]: Which would be great because police officers drive in cars that we all recognize.

[SPEAKER_02]: Look, I agree with that, but they aren't going to use them. [SPEAKER_02]: They've said, I know. [SPEAKER_02]: On top of which, if they were going to have a vehicle, usually there's like five or six or eight of them. [SPEAKER_02]: So why would you get a five person sedan? [SPEAKER_02]: Supposedly they have literally millions. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh and conveniently the dealer that they got this from happening. [SPEAKER_02]: No somebody who knows somebody in the drum regime.

[SPEAKER_05]: Or in the family just like the drone company that I believe it's a drone company. [SPEAKER_05]: The Donald Jr. and a record investor. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes. [SPEAKER_02]: That's we even get that story in the news. [SPEAKER_02]: happen. [SPEAKER_02]: Because there's so much corruption. [SPEAKER_02]: There is so much the corruption. [SPEAKER_02]: Look the the the costs of all of us are outstanding.

[SPEAKER_02]: The earlier ran strikes. [SPEAKER_02]: We have a piece on that in the news on tap today. [SPEAKER_02]: Cost 5.6 billion dollars. [SPEAKER_02]: The Pentagon estimates just in the cost of the munitions. [UNKNOWN]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: That's that doesn't cut the cost of of the members of the military who had do all of this. [SPEAKER_02]: That doesn't count the cost of the maintenance of the weapons that doesn't count. [SPEAKER_05]: But we don't have money for USAID.

[SPEAKER_05]: We don't have money for health care for everybody. [SPEAKER_05]: We don't have money for free lunches for kids. [SPEAKER_05]: We don't have that kind of money. [SPEAKER_02]: right, but we can we can have a war any damn time we want. [SPEAKER_05]: I've been yelling about this for ever. [SPEAKER_02]: I very much that is that is a big thing that I would absolutely love.

[SPEAKER_02]: And there are ways where we could set up the legislation because people are always worried about the hypothetical of, you know, what if there's another Pearl Harbor or another 911? [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well, we didn't stop either first on and also as soon as both of those happened Congress got the asses to work and immediately passed stuff. [SPEAKER_02]: So I'm really not too damn worried about what happens if and Donald didn't keep the oil reserves here in this country.

[SPEAKER_05]: Repass prior to doing this. [SPEAKER_02]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_02]: That is also under the cost of war section near the news on tap Ben Verskull, who happened to write a really good piece. [SPEAKER_02]: We link to it over at from Yahoo Finance.

[SPEAKER_02]: And he walks through how the big ugly bill, or the big beautiful bill depending on how you look at it, or the large lousy law, as you have called it, it has limited Donald Trump's ability to fight the oil prices that are out there right now.

[SPEAKER_02]: You remember when Joe Biden, what Joe Biden did to help lower the oil prices, and, well, I don't, we weren't here at the bar at that point time, but I know I was talking to Randy and I remember a chef talked about it, too, and probably talked about it with you to be honest, probably. [SPEAKER_02]: That, the way that Biden did it was, he took the excess that we had in the strategic petroleum reserve. [SPEAKER_02]: And went out and sold it.

[SPEAKER_02]: because we bought it low and it was sitting in the reserve and we had like 80% or something when he started, the reserve was like 80, 85% filled or something like that. [SPEAKER_02]: And he sold it down to 60%, which is still strategically, that's not bad. [SPEAKER_02]: And because we had bought the oil at a much lower price, then we went out and we sold it at a much higher price.

[SPEAKER_02]: Only it wasn't actually that much higher, but we just made a ton of money because it was much higher than when we had bought it. [UNKNOWN]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: And by us doing that, we were able to flood the market with oil, thereby lowering the price for everybody around the world. [SPEAKER_02]: Biden was brilliant when he did that. [SPEAKER_02]: Donald was handed the strategic patrolling reserve. [SPEAKER_02]: And he said, oh, yeah, I'll fill it up my first year.

[SPEAKER_02]: I'll fill it up this first year when I get back. [SPEAKER_02]: He had no headroom. [SPEAKER_02]: He didn't fill it up. [SPEAKER_02]: He didn't [SPEAKER_02]: So we didn't really have a whole lot of tools to fight the price of oil going up because he didn't do his job of filling the strategic goylvers or when he was supposed to. [SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's the stupidity. [SPEAKER_02]: The, I mean, you know, we have the word half-ashism and it is, it fits.

[SPEAKER_02]: But sometimes they just they remind me of cartoon characters like like in Mario, for example. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, by the way, remember I mentioned today is National Mario Day. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, do you know why I say it's not just me. [SPEAKER_02]: This is, I know Nintendo did a big thing on it, whatever, but it is. [SPEAKER_02]: So it's Donkey Kong Day, Mario Day specifically, but Donkey Kongs with him, you know that way.

[SPEAKER_02]: Because if you write it out, you write M-A-R one zero. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, I see. [SPEAKER_02]: Right, and it looks like Mario. [SPEAKER_02]: So then people go, it's a me, Mario. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I can do that one too. [SPEAKER_02]: I can also do Mario. [SPEAKER_02]: It's me, why are y'all? [SPEAKER_02]: I ain't got to eat her, but no, I don't eat dogs. [SPEAKER_02]: And that's sick like Donald Trump.

[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know why I can do certain cartoon voices, but I can, but for those of you who are wondering why it was Mario Day today, or at least why some of the kids and younger folks were saying it's Mario Day. [SPEAKER_02]: Now, you know, M-A-R, March, 10th, 1st. [SPEAKER_02]: Got it. [SPEAKER_02]: There you go. [SPEAKER_02]: There you go. [SPEAKER_02]: We do what we can here. [SPEAKER_02]: We aim to please and aim to educate you about the things that you don't always do.

[SPEAKER_02]: Look, especially when the kids come in and say, you know, you say, how is your day on a scale of one to ten? [SPEAKER_02]: And they say, yeah, six, seven. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm trying to help the people here. [SPEAKER_05]: That's, see, the year of my birth was 1967. [SPEAKER_05]: So I'm a six, seven. [SPEAKER_02]: There you go. [SPEAKER_02]: Actually, we think you're a ten around here, Joe. [SPEAKER_02]: That's just us. [SPEAKER_02]: Come on. [SPEAKER_02]: Good filters.

[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, no, Lonnie, Lonnie. [SPEAKER_02]: What do you think? [SPEAKER_02]: Is Jodie a ten? [SPEAKER_07]: Politics bar. [SPEAKER_07]: See, he says you're ten. [SPEAKER_07]: It's the same. [SPEAKER_02]: We are a little loopy because some of this is just so bad. [SPEAKER_02]: But we are glad that Democrats are opposing this war. [SPEAKER_02]: Senate Democrats, by the way, have vowed to completely repeatedly force more power votes on the Iran conflict.

[SPEAKER_02]: Look like Chris Murphy, that we mentioned yesterday, looks like he's not Kim. [SPEAKER_02]: They're actually going to basically stop stuff up. [SPEAKER_02]: And we've got a couple of polls. [SPEAKER_02]: New Quinney Piac poll and a couple of the polls as well. [SPEAKER_02]: All of them are making very clear. [SPEAKER_02]: Americans are strongly [SPEAKER_02]: strongly against this. [SPEAKER_02]: Larry Sabato went down the Quinnipiac poll. [SPEAKER_02]: He's a polling expert.

[SPEAKER_02]: It says 53 by 53 to 40% Americans oppose military action against Iran by 74 to 20% Americans oppose sending ground troops. [SPEAKER_02]: And of course, basically it's at 60 40 that Americans believe Trump should have received approval from Congress before starting this stupid ass. [SPEAKER_02]: It's not rocket science. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, you may have the biggest military in the world. [SPEAKER_02]: That doesn't mean that you can without any legitimate actions.

[SPEAKER_02]: So, and we mentioned this earlier. [SPEAKER_02]: Borsignor, Borsignor, they both took, a junior lesson senior, but they both took the time to actually kind of walk through this. [SPEAKER_02]: this group of idiots, this group of half-ashes, take no time at all. [SPEAKER_05]: It's giving China a reason to go into Taiwan. [SPEAKER_02]: Well, and it's giving North Korea a reason to keep going with their nuclear program.

[SPEAKER_02]: Of course, it's the only thing it's trying to deter you as a nuke. [SPEAKER_02]: Well, and congratulations, we're going to have exactly. [SPEAKER_05]: And not to mention, Khamene's family was murdered. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Now the guy who's going to be in charge of Iran, basically, you've killed off or pushed to the edge of death because he was old every money in my family. [SPEAKER_02]: Great idea. [SPEAKER_05]: His wife, one of his kids, his dad, I mean, come on.

[SPEAKER_02]: And meanwhile, we're pissing off all of our allies in the Middle East. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: That's brilliant. [SPEAKER_02]: Not, oh my God. [SPEAKER_02]: I just, I look at this and I'm, I am, I'm stunned this at the level of stupidity in some ways. [SPEAKER_02]: And I know some of you guys here in the bar are as well. [SPEAKER_02]: Judd Legum has a great piece over at popular info. [SPEAKER_02]: We put it in the news on Tap today.

[SPEAKER_02]: Look, the most basic question about the Iraq War remains, unanswered. [SPEAKER_02]: Why? [UNKNOWN]: Mm-hmm. [SPEAKER_02]: And Parker Maloy, who we love, I got to get her back in the bar here. [SPEAKER_02]: She's great. [SPEAKER_02]: She had a great piece too. [SPEAKER_02]: She and I, I thought of the title of today's news on tap. [SPEAKER_02]: And I obviously had been working on it. [SPEAKER_02]: And then, you know, I happen to get her, sub-stacking mail today.

[SPEAKER_02]: And we thought the same thing. [SPEAKER_02]: She called her Schrodinger's War. [SPEAKER_02]: So I had to do kind of a, Charles, Travis Kelsey kind of a thing. [SPEAKER_02]: Taylor Swift thing really and did your shoulders were Trump's version because you know Taylor's version. [SPEAKER_02]: There is some Kelsey news though. [SPEAKER_02]: We'll talk about that a little bit later but Parker's piece is great too.

[SPEAKER_02]: The goes are at the fact that Donald Trump and his regime are basically saying it's war. [SPEAKER_02]: It's not a war but Congress yes Democrats are not they're holding the line. [SPEAKER_02]: But there are Republicans up for election too, what the hell are they doing? [SPEAKER_02]: Why are they not getting involved? [SPEAKER_02]: Why do they think that this is an 80 20 75 25 as we just did in the polls?

[SPEAKER_02]: Do they think sitting on the sidelines were or kissing Donald Trump's ass is going to be good for them? [SPEAKER_05]: They must because of primaries. [SPEAKER_05]: They just have to. [SPEAKER_02]: But this is something you and I've been talking about a good deal lately on and off the microphones here at the bar, which is yes, they have to to some degree tech to depending on who they are.

[SPEAKER_02]: But at the same time, they could be doing what Thomas Massey is doing, which is, yes, I'm conservative, but there's a number of things I don't agree with Trump on and I'm going to be outspoken about those things. [SPEAKER_05]: And he's not retiring. [SPEAKER_05]: He's one of the braver ones. [SPEAKER_02]: Last poll I checked. [SPEAKER_02]: He's going to get reelected. [SPEAKER_05]: And he's in a safe district. [SPEAKER_02]: And he's in a safe district.

[SPEAKER_02]: And he's going to win his primary looks pretty good. [SPEAKER_05]: His constituents voted for him trust him. [SPEAKER_02]: They like the same thing that we've been seeing lately with Democratic polls, about polls of voters, Democratic voters and independent voters, and I guess even some Republican voters who vote Democratic, and what they've been saying is, I don't care whether you're further liberal or further to the center.

[SPEAKER_02]: I want you to be strong and outspoken, and I want you to do the job that I hired you to do. [SPEAKER_02]: We've been talking about it a lot lately. [SPEAKER_02]: I want representation that matters, that says something, it stands up around here. [SPEAKER_02]: That's a massive deal. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't agree with him in a lot of things, but at least he's dealing it. [SPEAKER_02]: And I don't understand why there aren't more members of the Senate who were doing the same thing.

[SPEAKER_02]: Thune is, Thune is the Senate majority leader and instead of saying, look, I absolutely am not in any way going to get rid of the filibuster. [SPEAKER_02]: So we're not going to ram this save crap through because he knows that if they vote for that, [SPEAKER_05]: Donald says Democrats will never get elected again. [SPEAKER_05]: No, no, no, no, no. [SPEAKER_02]: Mm-hmm. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that'll just, that'll just piss people off even more. [SPEAKER_05]: Lots of women.

[SPEAKER_02]: It is the dumbest it is the it's and look we we absolutely have to see do everything we can to stop the same act and that means you got to call your democratic senators about and you're a public in ones Oh, this is true to two two two four three one two one there you go got it call you remember of Congress if they are against the same act great thank them call them and if they are not tell them they need to be nice to the staffer

[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly, but remind them that it's going to actually hurt Republican voters more than it will hurt more than it did a Republican have changed their names and don't have proof. [SPEAKER_05]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: Otherwise, all you liberal women don't change your last names. [SPEAKER_02]: Well, many of them don't and congratulations, you know. [SPEAKER_02]: So, look, well, we'll get to more of this type of stuff here.

[SPEAKER_02]: We've been covering a lot of the different topics in the news on tap and, you know, [SPEAKER_02]: Normally we do the drink of the day and next segment, but I think we should wait to know Jared gets here in the bar. [SPEAKER_02]: But I do want to do some entertainment news coming up. [SPEAKER_02]: So if you're, if you're game for that, Jody, she's looking at an alert on her phone. [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe it's an entertainment alert. [SPEAKER_02]: We'll look at that coming up.

[SPEAKER_02]: Fresh in your drink, do what you got to do. [SPEAKER_02]: Um, you know, if you want to get a shirt, go to the politics bar store. [SPEAKER_02]: It's there at politicsbar.com, click on store. [SPEAKER_02]: We'll be back with some entertainment news here on a Tuesday night, hang on. [SPEAKER_07]: We'll be right back after we pay some bills at the politics bar.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's a Tuesday night here at the politics bar, and look, normally we do the drink of the day here, but we're going to wait till our other bartender, Mr. Jared Rizzie comes in. [SPEAKER_02]: Mainly because I mean, he not only makes a good drink, but he also makes both of us laugh, especially you two together are a hoot, really. [SPEAKER_02]: You and Jared together are just absolutely cute. [SPEAKER_02]: Look, Jared will be in just a little bit here.

[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to do a little bit of the entertainment news as well. [SPEAKER_02]: I know, in fact, you know, if you guys missed any of the stuff that we do with the news on tap, you can subscribe to the news on tap for free. [SPEAKER_02]: You don't even have to pay the $6 if you want to. [SPEAKER_02]: It's there at thepoliticsbar.com now.

[SPEAKER_02]: we recommend that you do the whole thing because look for six bucks less than a buck 50 a week and in a month that has five weeks hey call it march madness call it mathematics whatever it is even less than that you happen to get the news on tap you get the drink of the day with the recipe and you get the podcast ad free check it out it's all there at the politics bar dot com [SPEAKER_02]: All right, Jody, entertainment news.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we do some of the obits and Alexander Butterfield, the Nixon aid who disclosed the water gate tapes. [SPEAKER_02]: I actually heard on a little clip from Warrens on MS now last night, who reminded us that Butterfield actually helped install the system, I guess. [SPEAKER_05]: I'm sure Jill Weinbanks has some things to say about it. [SPEAKER_02]: Indeed, Bethan have heard, why are we? [SPEAKER_05]: Let's see what I can do. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he died, unfortunately, at 99.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, that is lifelong. [SPEAKER_02]: But the guy from Boston, he was... Tommy DeCarlo, now I know a lot of you are like, when Brad Delph is the singer. [SPEAKER_05]: He was and he hanged himself at 51 several years ago. [SPEAKER_02]: Which, just, I never understood that. [SPEAKER_02]: I do not understand that. [SPEAKER_02]: I, if, if you know somebody needs help, get help, that's, I will say that.

[SPEAKER_02]: It was it was sad that that happened but yeah, so I guess this was like 2008. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it was a while ago. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, he was only 15-1 like he killed him. [SPEAKER_02]: Tom Sholes the guy who actually you know was behind the boss and he was behind the the rockman amplifier that made the sound for death leopard.

[SPEAKER_02]: He's you know Tom Sholes a lot of stuff and he was I guess his girlfriend I think was was like scroll through YouTube or something [SPEAKER_02]: taking videos, watching videos of people who were singing Boston songs, and Sholes thought Tommy de Carlo was Brad Delp. [SPEAKER_05]: I mean, because Lonnie was playing videos this morning, I'm like, is that Brad Delp? [SPEAKER_05]: Because no, the other singer and he died and I'm like, how?

[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, unfortunately, Tommy de Carlo died at 60 of brain cancer. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, right. [SPEAKER_02]: Here's the weird thing. [SPEAKER_02]: He died 19 years to the day after Brad Delp. [SPEAKER_02]: Wow. [SPEAKER_02]: So it's like it's almost like a spinal tap thing, you know, you don't want to be the drummer just like a Boston, you know, if it 20 years and at least, but, you know, just avoid that particular day of the calendar. [SPEAKER_05]: That's sad.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it is sad. [SPEAKER_02]: And Boston is they're one of my favorite rock groups from that era. [SPEAKER_05]: Great band. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they used to be really good and great in concert. [SPEAKER_05]: You know why there was a difference, a very long release between the first and second records. [SPEAKER_02]: I've known several reasons why I forgot them since.

[SPEAKER_05]: From what I was told when I was studying this, under California law, especially at the time, you can be put under a personal services contract for up to seven years. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay. [SPEAKER_05]: And they wanted out of their record deal. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh. [SPEAKER_05]: And the company would not let them out. [SPEAKER_02]: Interesting. [SPEAKER_05]: They wanted to keep them and it's like, we're not going to release a record.

[SPEAKER_02]: I did not remember that, but that sounds like Tom Schulz. [SPEAKER_02]: Tom Schulz is notoriously, um, they didn't like the deal of the record. [SPEAKER_05]: They wanted to renew the deal, which is not out of the ordinary, but the label, I don't know who they were assigned to at the time, said no, we're not going to let you let you go. [SPEAKER_05]: So they couldn't do anything. [SPEAKER_05]: It's a problem. [SPEAKER_05]: Something like that.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: RC is gone now. [SPEAKER_05]: But they, they wouldn't let them out of their deal until legally they had to. [SPEAKER_02]: right, and then of course they came back with the back. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I mean, the second record was great. [SPEAKER_05]: Everything was really, you know, anticipating it, but they were like, yeah, well, we're not going to do a record. [SPEAKER_05]: So they couldn't do anything. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, staunch holes.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's, that's, and they went on there. [SPEAKER_02]: The people in the band did other stuff. [SPEAKER_02]: I still know that. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, God. [SPEAKER_02]: Very good, Joe. [SPEAKER_02]: They're guitarist and Brad Delt did like a side project. [SPEAKER_02]: They did numbers on projects. [SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, like I said, he's a big Boston fan. [SPEAKER_02]: Some other entertainment news and media matters.

[SPEAKER_02]: There is a bipartisan group of more than two dozen states. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if you caught the news yesterday that we have that live nation snuck in with the Trump DOJ. [SPEAKER_02]: And basically said, Oh, let's do a settlement. [SPEAKER_02]: They would have been able to pay off their settlement in four days. [SPEAKER_02]: it wasn't really a settlement.

[SPEAKER_02]: It was, and this is a big deal because live nation has been screwed in everybody on ticket prices for ages. [SPEAKER_02]: As we know, Taylor Smith basically took them to task and what to ask on that. [SPEAKER_02]: And if, if they actually cared about this, they could use this to break up if the Trump DOJ cared. [SPEAKER_02]: They could use this to break up live nation and make your ticket prices cheaper.

[SPEAKER_05]: Well, I mean, live nation and ticket master are the, right, the problem.

[SPEAKER_02]: but uh... there's a bipartisan group of literally i think it's uh... what is uh... twenty five twenty six something like that yeah both republican and democratic led and uh... any clobochar senator any clobochar hopefully soon to be governor uh... uh... said the whole deal was weak we've got a couple of stories on that and it is on tap as well you guys should that that is not a story that's going to be dying anytime soon i'm sure the folks said live nation wish it would

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh yeah, and people are going to be looking at the prices and going, excuse me what, excuse me what? [SPEAKER_05]: What's ridiculous, they charge you, okay, back in the day, you used to get tickets in the mail. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes kids, you used to be able to get them in the mail, or get them at your favorite ticket retailer. [SPEAKER_05]: Or at a record store. [SPEAKER_02]: Right, and ticket retailers.

[SPEAKER_05]: And so when ticket masters started to do it online, they would charge you to deliver it digitally. [SPEAKER_05]: Huh? [SPEAKER_02]: They, they do stupid ass charges for absolute freaking, lootly. [SPEAKER_02]: Everything. [SPEAKER_02]: Damn. [SPEAKER_05]: Look, you're type, you type the letter A. I'm going to charge you another $3. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: That was, that was ticket master. [SPEAKER_02]: That's why some of us call them ticket bastards.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's because they were. [SPEAKER_02]: Hey, look who is here. [SPEAKER_02]: The one, the only Jared Rosie coming in a little bit early. [SPEAKER_02]: You know why? [SPEAKER_02]: Because of the fact that, you know, we asked him to. [SPEAKER_02]: I mean,

[SPEAKER_02]: that's beyond us we said hey you know we're uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh uh

[SPEAKER_02]: There you go. [SPEAKER_02]: Also perfect. [SPEAKER_02]: See, right? [SPEAKER_02]: Great. [SPEAKER_02]: Great weather in a lot of places across the country right now, which, you know, we aim to place here at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_02]: We don't always get to set the thermostat where you are, but we do we can. [SPEAKER_02]: We're talking about some of the entertainment stuff right now, Jared.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oscar performance habit announced, by the way, 100x and buddy guy are both going to perform, which I know that seems really weird.

[SPEAKER_02]: One is K-pop, demon hunters, [SPEAKER_02]: I'm completely different but they're not performing together have now that would be interesting deemony type care that's a good idea for a connection yeah you you're aiming for that crossroads connection and I get that but you know that's that's that's that's that's not that's that's uh... woman who shot at reomas elli house has been identified and books for a good murder

[SPEAKER_02]: which she had a was a semi-on-matic of some kind rifle which I'm like why it's hard to get here she had to bring it from somewhere else I'm sure that's what I'm taking uh... Arizona and that uh... somewhere not here uh... s.g.a uh... from a local home city had a big night last night uh... tied wilt chamberlain in the record books connection that way on the court could god you people

[SPEAKER_02]: He tied Will Chamberlain in the record books and hit the game winner at the same time he gets Denver. [SPEAKER_02]: So it's a good game. [SPEAKER_02]: We got the story there if you missed it, you can check out the details. [SPEAKER_02]: There, obviously, we mentioned earlier Travis Kelsey has decided to return to the chiefs for the 14th NFL season, mainly because after he and Taylor get married this summer, she's going to be like, what the hell are you doing?

[SPEAKER_02]: Just sit around now. [SPEAKER_02]: Go. [SPEAKER_02]: Get out of here. [SPEAKER_02]: Go do something. [SPEAKER_05]: I'm bored with you. [SPEAKER_05]: I need to write. [SPEAKER_02]: Exactly go go to work lazy ass Jesus Well, I'm just saying that's entirely possible as she does that.

[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just hope they get married at a courthouse That I I'm sure they're gonna have an extravagant wonderful thing and I it's gonna be great And that's wonderful although I can guarantee I don't know for for I know you got married in a courthouse. [SPEAKER_02]: I did Jared you [SPEAKER_10]: You know, back when I still care like I married in a church. [SPEAKER_02]: No, it's okay. [SPEAKER_02]: We got married in a park and a nice outdoor kind of a thing, which is cool.

[SPEAKER_02]: But here's the thing, on the day of the wedding and this has been, I'm very glad that we had like a consultant assistant, whatever. [SPEAKER_02]: Um, and she said there's going to be a you are not going to remember there's going to be so much going on. [SPEAKER_02]: There's a whole bunch of stuff.

[SPEAKER_02]: Now, right, right, because here's the thing like the cake the cake was the big thing like my wife and I were like, I'm in and on all you want this and all we get to do the white chocolate and then have the raspberry sauce on the side and the chocolate sauce on the side and yet he got it and do all these [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, you don't eat. [SPEAKER_05]: You have to take the top of the cake home and eat it the following year.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because we were just like, oh, you have dancing in this person and that person. [SPEAKER_02]: And we're like, we get done and we're the house of cake. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_02]: I didn't have peace. [SPEAKER_02]: You know, sorry. [SPEAKER_05]: You know, Billy Kootup and Naomi Watts got married at a courthouse in New York. [SPEAKER_05]: Okay. [SPEAKER_05]: A few years ago. [SPEAKER_05]: And they can afford to love.

[SPEAKER_05]: They had a, they had another wedding with some friends and family, but they like did the right thing. [SPEAKER_02]: Well, right, and I'm sure that Taylor and Travis are going to do like some kind of wedding thing that's going to be, I mean, you know, Taylor's got the funds to do whatever it is. [SPEAKER_02]: She can do anything she wants. [SPEAKER_10]: Hey, and whatever she does decide to do is going to be the next like seven years worth of trends.

[SPEAKER_10]: So, if you're planning a wedding in the next, you know, decade, take some notes, those are the things that are going to be unavailably expensive. [SPEAKER_02]: And of course her wedding is going to be a blue June 13th. [SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be in the 13th. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't remember whether it's June or July, but it's going to be in the 13th.

[SPEAKER_05]: Well, it's whenever I've told friends that we're going to have like a wedding reception somewhere, I said, tell them you're shooting a movie. [SPEAKER_05]: And it's a really low budget movie, tell the caterers, especially here in Los Angeles. [SPEAKER_05]: Tell them you're shooting a very low budget.

[SPEAKER_05]: So when they see cameras or anything like that, and it's a wedding scene, but it's all very improv, and So instead of the $50 a plate, you're gonna get it at 25 bucks a plate. [SPEAKER_02]: There are a lot of tips, but my big thing is just, you know, the wedding is great, but make sure that you've done the work to actually have the relationship. [SPEAKER_02]: You make sure that that's taken care of. [SPEAKER_02]: That's far more important.

[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you know, big party, whatever. [SPEAKER_02]: I've known people who put off all that, they did do that and they put the money towards a house or something like that. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, you want to do that, that's fine. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, yeah, I mean, our wedding, including the rings and my dress, the rings being more expensive than my dress, $1,200. [SPEAKER_05]: There you go. [SPEAKER_10]: Incredible.

[SPEAKER_05]: And the party that we ended up, we didn't host it, nor did we pay a dime for it. [SPEAKER_02]: But it's all listen to that one. [SPEAKER_02]: I love that there is an option, yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: Cost of fortune. [SPEAKER_05]: And a friend of ours is doing it anyway. [SPEAKER_05]: He says, why don't you have your reception here?

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, look, it's it you do it however you can and especially with the cost of everything going up Especially thanks to Trump's Iran war, which is not a war.

[SPEAKER_02]: It is and is not a war Kind of like he Okay, some of the stuff he said look you're [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, boy, we will play some of those cuts coming up in this next hour here because some of the stuff Some of you guys heard it here in the first hour obviously some folks are coming in a little bit later They haven't heard it yet. [SPEAKER_02]: Some of this stuff. [SPEAKER_02]: There was a comment about a six year old girl.

[SPEAKER_05]: I was like that can't be real and you said yes It's real. [SPEAKER_02]: You came into the barn. [SPEAKER_02]: You said that's not real here. [SPEAKER_02]: Let me let me let me bring it up and play it for you Yeah, it's it's we won't spend the break winding me up and then I will just go [SPEAKER_02]: Enjoy the Jared is here. [SPEAKER_02]: It is a Tuesday night. [SPEAKER_02]: You got Jared Rizzi. [SPEAKER_02]: You got Jody Hamilton. [SPEAKER_02]: And you got me Sean Smith Pierce.

[SPEAKER_02]: And we have more news on tap for you. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, hey, and we've saved the drink of the day. [SPEAKER_02]: We will actually do that coming up in the next segment as well. [SPEAKER_02]: So look, if you got to do what you got to do with the top of the hour. [SPEAKER_02]: You know what to do down hall, left, right, and center. [SPEAKER_02]: We aimed to please hear the politics bar. [SPEAKER_02]: You ain't too pleased. [SPEAKER_02]: We know so much to clean up later.

[SPEAKER_02]: Come back, freshen up your drink. [SPEAKER_02]: We'll have more for you here on a Tuesday night. [SPEAKER_06]: We'll be right back after we pay some bills of the politics bar. [SPEAKER_05]: Johnny. [SPEAKER_06]: John. [SPEAKER_02]: Jared. [SPEAKER_02]: Sean and Johnny. [SPEAKER_10]: Johnny and Sean. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: We are all here tonight.

[SPEAKER_02]: It is a Tuesday night at the politics bar and we are fully staffed and ready to serve you all kinds of great news from the news on tap big thanks by the way to everybody who was coming to us.

[SPEAKER_02]: From wherever you happen to be whether that happens to be George now ready when Atlanta or maybe you are coming in on WCPT AMA 20 Chicago Maybe you happen to be listening on AM 1950 Minneapolis Saint Paul their detour talk in Tennessee Well progressive horses radio worldwide wherever you happen to be or you know, maybe you happen to be one of those The Utah people you are a podcast listener and you are proud of it, which is fine Although, you know, you can listen for free on your podcast player, but we do recommend going to the politics bar dot

[SPEAKER_02]: home, you can get the podcast, add free that way. [SPEAKER_02]: And remember, we've said this before normally, it's $6 a month, a buck 50 a week, because there's four weeks in a month. [SPEAKER_02]: But right now, since there's five weeks basically in March, it's kind of like a discount. [SPEAKER_02]: It's March madness. [SPEAKER_02]: Also known as mathematics. [SPEAKER_02]: Go check it out. [SPEAKER_02]: It's there. [SPEAKER_02]: It's at thepulticepark.com.

[SPEAKER_02]: You hadn't heard that one yet had you it's like, yeah I'm mad that I'm laughing if that's it Like mad that you got me that's what dad jokes are supposed to be man dad jokes are supposed to be where you sit there and you're like You know, I can't do we were talking to well BDD on Monday And I can't remember boy we were talking to some about dad jokes and it's like it's an awful joke and your teenage

[SPEAKER_02]: And you're like, yeah, yeah, yeah, and you know 100% that they will then turn to their friends in five minutes when you're not around. [SPEAKER_02]: We like, dude, I heard this one. [SPEAKER_02]: They won't say where they got it, but they'll tell their friends. [SPEAKER_02]: And their friends will grow and oh my God, that is so bad. [SPEAKER_02]: You're welcome. [SPEAKER_02]: You're welcome. [SPEAKER_02]: We aim to please here as you know.

[UNKNOWN]: Sure. [SPEAKER_02]: So other than the weather, how is DC, at least your corner of it, I'm guessing fewer monsters, fewer ice monsters? [SPEAKER_10]: You know, you'd be surprised, I am definitely on several of those, you know, neighborhood watching, you know, the kinds of things that ice will use to justify if I ever get shot in that. [SPEAKER_10]: Then they'll be like, hey, it was a terrorist, he was on this signal group. [SPEAKER_10]: What's the talk about that, too?

[SPEAKER_10]: You know, they're being whiter about it, but they're still going, is which I mean, no, they just haven't, you know, again, they haven't shot anyone in the head this month. [SPEAKER_02]: That's what I mean by, they're being quieter about it. [SPEAKER_02]: They're not making as big a scene, so it doesn't hit the media, and so it doesn't. [SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, and it's still here, you know, and I think we've talked a lot.

[SPEAKER_10]: I know the three of us have talked Sean, you and I've talked about this going way back, you know.

[SPEAKER_10]: News loves a story that's new if it bleeds it leads you not necessarily a story that's hey This continues to stop right and that and that's where we are That's where we find ourselves right now and that's true in LA and Minneapolis and in DC It's true in Memphis it's true in Chicago It's true right everywhere that they've had this really big presence and you know It's it's different in DC because they have more coordination with the federal government right local police

[SPEAKER_10]: Because of the not quite a state thing that we've got going on here, and it's just harder. [SPEAKER_10]: It's just harder and The National Guard here continue to do, you know Clean up Nothing is the is the way I could say long maintenance [SPEAKER_10]: It's not even helpful, you know, it's mostly it's just sitting around, standing around, talking to each other and wasting every one of the drinks of the day. [SPEAKER_02]: Let me hit this before we hit the drink the day here.

[SPEAKER_02]: So in the third round in Trump regime's other wars in the immigration wars subsection, federal judge Minnesota has ruled ice agents stopped some people based solely on their race, which is illegal. [SPEAKER_02]: Kavanaugh stops. [SPEAKER_02]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_02]: But then the judge declined to grant preliminary injunction to them, which I still think is dumb. [SPEAKER_02]: Thankfully, folks in Chicago are leading the way once again.

[SPEAKER_02]: You WCPT folks, thank you very much. [SPEAKER_02]: Chicago law firm is now leading push to appoint a special prosecutor in Illinois that would go after ICE and Border Patrol agents for the crimes they have committed. [SPEAKER_10]: Governor Pritzker promised, and this is exactly the delivery that we need. [SPEAKER_10]: We need to remind these folks that Trump isn't going to be in power forever. [SPEAKER_10]: They will be held accountable for the things they're doing wrong.

[SPEAKER_10]: that should hopefully change some of their behavior now and if it doesn't then we just kind of keep pushing. [SPEAKER_02]: Jared is 100% correct. [SPEAKER_02]: This is one of the reasons why I like Pritzker is the Pritzker tends to follow through. [SPEAKER_02]: He's not a BSer, so he's pretty good. [SPEAKER_02]: Plus, he's good on LGBTQ issues.

[SPEAKER_02]: So. [SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, he's not, you know, going, you know, having Ben Shapiro on his podcast denouncing trans kids and rounding up the homeless and just saying stuff like that. [SPEAKER_10]: Kevin. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_05]: I'm okay. [SPEAKER_05]: He's great on some things and real bad on others. [SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, I'm loving the idea of him jumping on the grenade and pointing out how ridiculous Trump is.

[SPEAKER_10]: I just don't think he, you know, look, we've got a couple of years to, you know, said a lot of things. [SPEAKER_02]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_02]: We've got a lot of connections going on on two day, although we'll probably talk about those more tomorrow, simply because the elections are winding down tonight in Georgia. [SPEAKER_02]: Congratulations. [SPEAKER_02]: Congratulations. [SPEAKER_02]: Congratulations.

[SPEAKER_02]: like exactly that look well actually it's it's I don't think any of them there's like was it five or six Republicans in three Democrats It's uh and and nobody's gonna get more than 50% so it's gonna go to a runoff I believe it's April 7th is the runoff election for them because they have well they have a jungle primary [SPEAKER_02]: So whoever gets the top two vote getters. [SPEAKER_10]: It's soon because it's a Republican district.

[SPEAKER_10]: And those have to be done quickly, but it's like, it's like, Turner dies in Texas, then we got a way to hear. [SPEAKER_10]: That's that's really the tiny Johnson does things. [SPEAKER_10]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_10]: So no, you're right. [SPEAKER_10]: Look at these. [SPEAKER_10]: Look at these. [SPEAKER_10]: I mean, just the names alone.

[SPEAKER_10]: no no that's that's that's that's that's that's that's a fuller you know you know you know you're in Georgia oh yeah see his family on a plantation back in the day around Eric Jim Davis I can't believe he's stopped making Garfield to really [SPEAKER_02]: That's I knew you were going to go there. [SPEAKER_02]: I had I had a feeling you were going to go there are primary elections in Mississippi as well and potentially some democratic surprises there.

[SPEAKER_02]: So we will we'll talk about that for those who don't know Georgia special election also has some ranked choice voting. [SPEAKER_02]: Rianting Beck with has a really good piece that we link to in the election land section today. [SPEAKER_02]: Here's the thing, the ranked choice voting keeps showing up at more and more places because it's good. [SPEAKER_02]: It works. [SPEAKER_02]: You can't not everybody gets to use ranked choice voting.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's basically for military members and things like that. [SPEAKER_02]: But it makes it easier so that way they will know [SPEAKER_10]: Well, the other thing I like to point out to people when it comes to ranked choice voting or having multi-member districts out of the changes that are on kind of that bleeding edge of democracy. [SPEAKER_10]: Frankly, things that have been adopted and implemented very successfully in other countries.

[SPEAKER_10]: Australia is an even in even in some cities and states. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's exactly. [SPEAKER_10]: It's Alaska. [SPEAKER_10]: It's no in experimental phases and a lot of places around the US, but this is, this is tried and true elsewhere, is that, you know, [SPEAKER_10]: Think about the thing that you hate the most about politics. [SPEAKER_10]: Okay, now go down about 50 things that you hate. [SPEAKER_10]: Okay, here it is.

[SPEAKER_10]: You've got this situation where essentially, you know, there's like half and half and a lot of these districts are kind of engineered or gerrymandered to be that close. [SPEAKER_10]: And then it's really easy for someone to make it pass the primary and then get 50% plus one vote to get in.

[SPEAKER_10]: Kind of like the district we're talking about there with Marjorie Taylor Greene if it could end up being to republicans and then it'll be whoever kisses Trump's ass more right and and I think we're gonna start to see that his endorsement means a lot less but I love but imagine a different world in which fascism wasn't just a coin flip away and suddenly you've got this situation where okay there's only like 20 to 30% of people who are either so on board or so stupid

[SPEAKER_10]: 20 to 30 percent if they can capture a priori and then get their guy on the general election suddenly becomes a coin flip We can't let it be that way and so the idea of isolating these fringes on every part of the political spectrum is good and healthy because then

[SPEAKER_10]: actually doing the job and making people's lives better becomes the thing that tests whether you get reelected again, not, can you win the coin flip and be the least crazy or, you know, as we always say, the lesser of two evils, forget that guys. [SPEAKER_02]: Let's do something better in the other thing that I love about ranked choice voting is actually it's about campaigning. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, most of the places that have ranked choice voting.

[SPEAKER_02]: The way that they can't pay the way that you can't pay in a first pass the post is I'm great and the other guy or girl sucks. [SPEAKER_02]: Yep. [SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, you throw the negatives at them because they suck. [SPEAKER_02]: They're right. [SPEAKER_02]: But with ranked choice voting. [SPEAKER_02]: You make alliances.

[SPEAKER_10]: It's coalition building exactly and you want to emphasize who your friends are not just because they're your friends, but because they are going to govern the way that you would govern, you know, we saw a great example in the New York. [SPEAKER_05]: Exactly, with Mamden Downey and Lander. [SPEAKER_10]: And Lander was from the very beginning saying, Look, this is my guide. [SPEAKER_10]: This is the one I think that you should vote if you're not voting for me.

[SPEAKER_10]: And vice versa from Mamden Downey. [SPEAKER_10]: And we saw them both say like, This is the kind of good government that we both believe in. [SPEAKER_10]: People cotton down to that. [SPEAKER_10]: And I think that you saw these guys in the wilderness, like Cuomo, and I can't believe we had to mention his name in 2026.

[SPEAKER_10]: But here we are talking about how he'll relevant he is, I guess, and you know, he didn't make those friendships He didn't make those connections and suffered because of it. [SPEAKER_10]: I right. [SPEAKER_02]: Well, I think that he's his his administration Landers part of it, but he's got other people who who were on the you know involved in that whole thing [SPEAKER_02]: And they're part of it too, it's, it's, you know, you come to the party with your friends.

[SPEAKER_02]: You come to the governing with the people who as a team, because we govern as a team. [SPEAKER_02]: We don't, this isn't a dictatorship, this isn't a regency, we don't, you know. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm the one in charge, look, I have the crown, and the little deceptor, banging all over the head things, don't thump, no, it's, you know, it's a team of people. [SPEAKER_10]: So, yeah. [SPEAKER_10]: I am looking forward to lander coming in and getting into the New York 11th right now.

[SPEAKER_10]: That's the New York City's only congressional district that's held by a Republican one with the Malay Atoccus and so we'll see if either Dick and Goldman who's there right now or somebody else. [SPEAKER_02]: No, no, it's a Malay Atoccus is the one who's got Republicans. [SPEAKER_10]: So we'll see what happens in that district and but landers you know obviously you know looking looking at that in the future But yeah, there's there's gonna be some good.

[SPEAKER_02]: There's gonna be some good elections and obviously more of them coming and we will obviously we'll cover more of the election Returns tomorrow nights because There's still counting and yes, I know some people have said I already know because they assume I'm not assuming nothing wait until if you're at least a person and you're listening [SPEAKER_10]: Don't stay in line. [SPEAKER_10]: Like if you are if you're listening to this like any day. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it's a little late.

[SPEAKER_10]: Actually not so I would normally Yeah, if you're still in line. [SPEAKER_10]: Stay in line, but if it's Thursday. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, probably not that's a good point. [SPEAKER_02]: Good point. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah You know, we actually had so much fun talking about elections and everything this segment We we didn't talk about dotting in his odd comments and we totally missed the drink of the day, which you know Come to me out cuz we call it in later

[SPEAKER_02]: Like a neary drink, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no

[SPEAKER_10]: Sorry, that's a name of the drink. [SPEAKER_05]: How did you know? [SPEAKER_10]: Hey, look, all I'm saying is in woke 2.0. [SPEAKER_10]: It's gonna be the gay of hormones. [SPEAKER_10]: Okay, that's all we need That one deserves a bow. [SPEAKER_02]: I had to bring it back. [SPEAKER_02]: That's good. [SPEAKER_02]: That's that's good.

[SPEAKER_02]: I had not I had not thought of them That's honestly I'm not sure how you could dad joke that to your kids, but however I recommend figuring that one out. [SPEAKER_02]: That's a good one to [SPEAKER_10]: I need to show you a globe, but I need about two hours. [SPEAKER_02]: We will do the drink of the day coming up next. [SPEAKER_02]: So for all of you who've been waiting and you're like, wait a minute. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm still interested.

[SPEAKER_02]: I want to know what you guys are doing. [SPEAKER_02]: We're going to do the drink of the day next. [SPEAKER_02]: And we will get back into the news on tap. [SPEAKER_02]: It is a Tuesday night. [SPEAKER_02]: You got Jared Rizzy. [SPEAKER_02]: You got Jody Hamilton. [SPEAKER_02]: And you got me, Sean Smith Pierce. [SPEAKER_02]: We got all that and more. [SPEAKER_02]: Remember, if you missed any part of the show, you guys know what to do.

[SPEAKER_02]: Subscribe at your favorite podcast player or the politics bar. [SPEAKER_02]: Back with the drink of the day, next, here on the politics bar. [SPEAKER_07]: We'll be right back after we pay some bills at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_02]: Tuesday night here at politics bar you got you Jody you got you Jared you got you me and we have The drink of the day today. [SPEAKER_05]: I'm just gonna phone it in [SPEAKER_02]: show to these. [SPEAKER_02]: That is so bad.

[SPEAKER_05]: I know, is it? [SPEAKER_05]: I'm so getting the dad joke by going on. [SPEAKER_02]: All right. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, or a mom joke? [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, mom's due to two. [SPEAKER_02]: No, no, no, we've had. [SPEAKER_02]: I had to drop something in there. [SPEAKER_02]: You have a really good history in the drink of the day today for this, but I had to drop in one of my favorite songs. [SPEAKER_02]: I saw a brother's telephone songs.

[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you know, if you're talking about telephones, you got to have that one. [SPEAKER_02]: Either that or ELO song, telephone [SPEAKER_02]: It's a good song, but you know, the Vaughan brothers just has a little bit more of that jam, which on a future weather day like today was across the nation. [SPEAKER_02]: You got to have a little bit more of a jam going on.

[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: For those people who didn't got, did not catch on, Jody, what is the drink of the day and what is the inspiration? [SPEAKER_05]: the drink the day is called a tin can telephone cocktail because this is the anniversary today in 1876 was the first successful phone call. [SPEAKER_05]: By the way, originated in Boston.

[SPEAKER_05]: Just so as you [SPEAKER_05]: It's interesting how he came up with all of this, and I know that he had, he was an audiologist, and he also his parents, he had deaf people in his family to help them, and I knew that already because I have a bunch of deaf friends, so I already know. [SPEAKER_02]: Telephone was originally supposed to be a hearing assistant device. [SPEAKER_02]: which I mean it does assist you to hear things from a long distance. [SPEAKER_02]: It does.

[SPEAKER_05]: I mean he's right. [SPEAKER_05]: It did. [SPEAKER_05]: It's and now they have hearing aids that help on the phone. [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: It's wild. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Bluetooth Bluetooth that actually goes to the hearing aid and it can just connect right to your phone. [SPEAKER_02]: Which is like. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that's. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_05]: I mean, I mean, I mean, I used to have a TTY machine. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, wow. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: My friends. [SPEAKER_02]: You don't know that's a little text thing. [SPEAKER_05]: It's basically it was texting before texting. [SPEAKER_05]: Uh-huh texting for deaf people so that she had one at her house. [SPEAKER_05]: I had one here. [SPEAKER_05]: I mean, she could talk on the phone. [SPEAKER_05]: She's still can But it was just easier.

[SPEAKER_05]: This is why that all my deaf friends are so happy about Face time because they can sign and Texting it's just it makes their lives so much easier Which I think was what Bell was aiming yes he was he definitely was he was he was it he was a good guy Yeah, he was a good guy

[SPEAKER_02]: And, of course, all the stuff that has come from Bell Labs over the years, which is just amazing, but, you know, an anniversary of the first telephone call is definitely something worth celebrating here. [SPEAKER_02]: Of course, every time I see the name of it, though, the tin can telephone cocktail, I always think of, you know, [SPEAKER_02]: Tim can trash can trash can beating is basically where you whip somebody's ass so bad You just scoop up.

[SPEAKER_05]: It's left of him put him in the can that's it that's it as Woman if I had permission, I would have put up this finale that my mom did with meltoermaine and ethyborate and dawn rickles Oh Yeah, many's dead. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I'm 100 years ago.

[SPEAKER_05]: It's it was a takeoff on a movie called Tim Pan Alley [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, okay, and they call it 10 can Alley, and the two leads were Meltermae's character and my mom and her name was pots and his name was pans, so it was pots and pans [SPEAKER_05]: It's a very funny funny thing. [SPEAKER_05]: It's think it's on shot fact rates and it's its own episode now because I had to cut two things out of it and I got it down to 22 minutes. [SPEAKER_05]: It's brilliantly a dawn rickles.

[SPEAKER_05]: So funny. [SPEAKER_02]: So your mom and well probably done and wrote it in all this. [SPEAKER_05]: Well, no, I don't know who wrote it. [SPEAKER_05]: I know the original music who wrote that, but staff writers wrote it. [SPEAKER_02]: I love it. [SPEAKER_02]: The reason I was thinking of trashcane was also, I was also still thinking of the Paralympics by the way. [SPEAKER_02]: Team USA, beat up Germany, 13 to nothing. [SPEAKER_02]: in the sled hockey last night.

[SPEAKER_05]: That's crazy. [SPEAKER_02]: They have been doing double-digit ass welpens just the entire time. [SPEAKER_02]: The US sled hockey team is bad as hell. [SPEAKER_02]: They are awesome. [SPEAKER_02]: So, Chris. [SPEAKER_02]: Anyway, back to the drink of the day. [SPEAKER_02]: So, how do we make this tin can telephone and cocktail? [SPEAKER_05]: All right, you're going to need a mixing glass. [SPEAKER_05]: Some ice, a strainer.

[SPEAKER_05]: As usual, children, even though I write it down every time, a pre-chilled, whatever glass where it is. [SPEAKER_07]: Wow, right. [SPEAKER_05]: and Nick and Nora glass. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god, that's not on us, Sean. [SPEAKER_02]: I am. [SPEAKER_02]: Hey, look, look, she wants to make sure you do it. [SPEAKER_02]: I'll die on this hill. [SPEAKER_05]: I will die on this hill. [SPEAKER_02]: So glass is just make for better drinks. [SPEAKER_05]: It's better. [SPEAKER_05]: It's better.

[SPEAKER_05]: An ounce of lared to Apple Brandy, an ounce of sweet for move. [SPEAKER_05]: One ounce of Susa or another genetian liquor like sailors I've never had that have no idea what it tastes like. [SPEAKER_02]: It is, um, attention. [SPEAKER_05]: Excuse me. [SPEAKER_05]: Not, not, not, not, not, not, not. [SPEAKER_02]: Not, not, not, not.

[SPEAKER_02]: Not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not, not

[SPEAKER_02]: If you've seen pictures of the trees in the alps that are like, you know, in the springtime with a bright yellow flowers, then thems is the one, that's where that comes. [SPEAKER_05]: So it's a spicy kind of thing or a little bit, little bit, little bit. [SPEAKER_05]: Because we already have sweet vermuth, we don't need any more sweet. [SPEAKER_05]: The apple branding in the vermuth are very sweet. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Right.

[SPEAKER_02]: And then of course Benedictine is also a little bit of a spice kind of. [SPEAKER_05]: right, so that makes some more sense. [SPEAKER_05]: So a bar spoon of Benedictine and you garnish with a lemon twist. [SPEAKER_05]: So what you do is you take all the ingredients into your mixing glass. [SPEAKER_05]: You add ice and stir it to chill. [SPEAKER_05]: You strain it into your naked pre-chilled, naked nor a glass.

[SPEAKER_05]: And then you express your lemon twist and use it as garnish. [SPEAKER_02]: Here you go. [SPEAKER_02]: Trigger. [SPEAKER_02]: And call your mother. [SPEAKER_02]: And call your mother. [SPEAKER_02]: Call your mother. [SPEAKER_02]: Call your father. [SPEAKER_02]: Call somebody you love. [SPEAKER_02]: Just don't call them a name. [SPEAKER_02]: All right. [SPEAKER_05]: Well, acceptance. [SPEAKER_05]: Name is Donald. [SPEAKER_02]: Well, this is true.

[SPEAKER_02]: I was when my wife says, you know, I'm going to call my mom. [SPEAKER_02]: And I'll go, what are you going to call her? [SPEAKER_02]: She says, mom. [SPEAKER_02]: I think you're going to call her. [SPEAKER_10]: If you guys missed any part of the drink of the day, he just walks out of the room. [SPEAKER_10]: You just try to... [SPEAKER_02]: I love you! [SPEAKER_02]: Not for you! [SPEAKER_02]: You guys missed any part of the drink of the day. [SPEAKER_02]: You guys know what to do.

[SPEAKER_02]: Subscribe at thepoliticsbar.com. [SPEAKER_10]: Alright, going your class now! [SPEAKER_02]: You should just have a selection of your favorite glasses in a corner of your fridge or your freezer just makes you know makes it easier that way You know you have a couple of like if you guys usually use a you know all fashion glasses for the your favorite kind of drink or Nick and Nora whatever just have you have like four of them put two of them in there.

[SPEAKER_05]: You're fine that way Otherwise you chill it with ice in it and then you toss the ice right [SPEAKER_10]: I think the last time I was here, I was talking about how the Furnet, maybe this was a couple weeks earlier, but how Furnet is the service industry hand shake. [SPEAKER_10]: I was out at a bar in DC in the Shaw neighborhood, Shaw in front of the day Shaw. [SPEAKER_10]: neighbor. [SPEAKER_02]: No. [SPEAKER_10]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: That was just one to say for me.

[SPEAKER_10]: That's why I did it twice. [SPEAKER_10]: But I was in that neighborhood new bar called EBS and they were it's great new place relatively new places gotten written up everywhere. [SPEAKER_00]: Cool. [SPEAKER_10]: And the guy sits next to me. [SPEAKER_10]: I'm, you know, at the bar just having a drink after after a show, comedian came out and a friend of mine who came out was in DC. [SPEAKER_10]: one little stop over before I went home.

[SPEAKER_10]: I didn't have to get up early with the kid. [SPEAKER_10]: Sit down, Guy next to me. [SPEAKER_10]: He orders a shot of Furnat. [SPEAKER_10]: I was like, I say to him, I was like, industry handshake, where I know immediately. [SPEAKER_10]: Where do you, you know, he's like, oh my gosh, is that the Dabney Seller is quite an eye. [SPEAKER_10]: We got out early, whatever.

[SPEAKER_10]: he ends up buying me a for net i end up i was there two hours later that which again was the plan since i didn't have to get up early with my kid that next but you actually you actually have a plan it was the point you you had a plan [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, this is, um, as we know, getting back to the news on tap, uh, Donnie and the gang actually have not had a plan. [SPEAKER_02]: In fact, actually, oh, god, no plan. [SPEAKER_02]: Donald, Donald, Donald has called this.

[SPEAKER_02]: He said that the, the war with Iran was a little excursion. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if you actually heard this or not. [SPEAKER_02]: Jericho, let us. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, I'm not heard in black. [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, uh, doing really well. [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, at a level that nobody thought we took a little excursion, because we felt we had to do that to get rid of some people.

[SPEAKER_05]: Okay, first off, he says excursion and then refers to a hundred plus dead girls as evil. [SPEAKER_05]: And secondly, it sounds like his teeth are falling out of his mouth. [SPEAKER_02]: Exactly, that's true also. [SPEAKER_02]: But look, normally when I say I'm doing, when some of my friends, if I'm at the bar, and, you know, I need to go down the hall to the left, right, or center, whatever, and some of his says, where are you going? [SPEAKER_02]: Now, I'm going all excursion.

[SPEAKER_02]: I gotta get rid of some of the evil. [SPEAKER_02]: Am I wrong that you can hear some of your friends saying that and yet this is what Donald Trump is saying to a group of congressional Republicans. [SPEAKER_02]: Here's the other thing that he said to a bunch of them. [SPEAKER_02]: He's talking about this his war on democracy and how they're going to want to try to steal the election. [SPEAKER_02]: This is this is one of the reasons why I'm like where the hell is Congress here.

[SPEAKER_02]: Let me play this for you. [SPEAKER_04]: Also add on to this bill and so what I've asked Mike to do is to draw a new one with these few things added and and let's go for the gold. [SPEAKER_04]: Let's not just get one like voter ID, but you know it can be given to you by your daughter. [SPEAKER_04]: You know your daughter she has to be of age like above six years old. [SPEAKER_05]: Even in full context, it's still gross. [SPEAKER_05]: Mm-hmm.

[SPEAKER_10]: I mean, it makes perfect sense if you realize that he is a crazy old man who is so filled with guilt and shame for the life. [SPEAKER_10]: a villainy that he has achieved that it's just seeping out of him like that. [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, you think it has guilt and shame? [SPEAKER_10]: I think it's so deeply, I will say this. [SPEAKER_10]: I think it's this is, you know, I mentioned Turkey. [SPEAKER_10]: Uh, you know, it's a great evening to go.

[SPEAKER_10]: This may be my vestigial catholicism that I can just say, I think it is so subsumed under, you know, the makeup and the thick skull and the fact of years, the cheeseburgers, the trans fat, the tapioca brain. [SPEAKER_10]: The the year is the diapers, the meth and fatemines and all these other stuff. [SPEAKER_10]: I just I think he's just he needs to confess his grace like a serial killer.

[SPEAKER_10]: He needs to confess his crime desperately and he is worried about going to hell [SPEAKER_10]: he has been saying that on an opera while yeah we have been hearing that so us it's it's possible I fascinating to me to hear him talk about the two issues that are the most salient for his legacy you know whether or not he you know Mike Johnson and the speaker the house has been saying you know if if democrats take a majority in the fall this is the end of the trump presidency and he

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, his ass is going to get impeached a hundred percent. [SPEAKER_10]: And then this little Iran excursion, if that's the word he wants to use, is going to define him because there has been no argument in public for why this is necessary.

[SPEAKER_10]: There's been no discussion that the press court at the Pentagon has been missing an action for the last year that White House is essentially, you know, the White House press court is essentially just a rumped parliament filled with, you know, lackeys and, you know, [SPEAKER_02]: That's kind of what the the Pentagon press quarter is now too. [SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's always the right way. [SPEAKER_05]: There was one good guy.

[SPEAKER_05]: I think it was last night or today that did actually question Donald on something. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, yes, he asked about a Tom box. [SPEAKER_05]: Yes. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: I believe he asked him at the Tom box and trying to move by actually have this. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I do hear. [SPEAKER_02]: Let me play this on the. [SPEAKER_02]: That's a good one.

[SPEAKER_03]: You just suggested that Iran somehow got its hands on a Tomahawk and bombed its own elementary school on the first day of the war. [SPEAKER_03]: But you're the only person in your government saying this, even your defense secretary will wouldn't say that when he was asked standing over your shoulder on your plane on Saturday. [SPEAKER_03]: Why are you the only person saying this? [SPEAKER_04]: Because I just don't know enough about it.

[SPEAKER_04]: I think it's something that I was told is under investigation. [SPEAKER_10]: He should know he's the president of the Hawks are only used by the United States and select allies. [SPEAKER_02]: They're not even in real get three countries right exactly there are three countries and we're the have them we're one of them and of the countries who were doing military action in southern Iran there's only one and it was us but not only that.

[SPEAKER_10]: uh... if you look at the collage today in the news about wait a second wait a second show no i can't move on from this because the follow-up question has to be if that's what's his argument is how did you as president let this happen that some other country uh... adversary stole our tomahawk missiles one of the most important parts of our hardware how okay and then he didn't the the journalists did not follow up with that well he didn't try donald would have said that's a stupid question

[SPEAKER_02]: I was going to, I'll let you finish on this, but here's the thing, that picture that we have there, that picture is pieces of a Tomahawk missile, some of which says made in the USA sitting on a desk, a desk that was the desk of one of these elementary school girls that we killed with a Tomahawk missile. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry, that image is so evocative, they literally used it in a Marvel movie in Iron Man. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry.

[SPEAKER_02]: We've all seen this on the screen already. [SPEAKER_02]: Only the scene that you're seeing that's in the news on tap. [SPEAKER_02]: It's in the picture right there. [SPEAKER_02]: Then ain't no damn movie. [SPEAKER_02]: that's the girls that were killed and that's the missile that did it and that's our name on it. [SPEAKER_10]: And he knows he has no defense for these kinds of actions.

[SPEAKER_10]: He knows that this is not just illegal, not just in moral, not just wrong, but it's also something that's going to come and bite him in the ass and the reason he's flailing with these descriptions and these obvious lies. [SPEAKER_10]: I mean, I miss the lies of the first Trump administration [SPEAKER_10]: back. [SPEAKER_02]: The people walking around without legs is divided.

[SPEAKER_04]: But when they were very strongly involved in all of the people that died through the roadside bombs, died and are right now walking around with no legs, no arms. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, that's that's the movie kids from 1995.

[SPEAKER_10]: It's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it's like it

[SPEAKER_05]: I'm sorry to everybody, but seriously, the man said that people that are dead are walking around without legs and arms on their probably going to vote for Democrats in the fall. [SPEAKER_02]: And here's the thing is he was giving all of these things are yesterday when he was speaking in front of Republicans and his club. [SPEAKER_02]: get to round. [SPEAKER_02]: So this is his own club.

[SPEAKER_02]: He's speaking for members of Congress who had and still have the ability to reign him in on this stupid ass Iran war with the War Powers Act. [SPEAKER_02]: And these Republicans are looking to their gun. [SPEAKER_02]: You're good with this guy having the power to just wage war and blow the hell out of kids. [SPEAKER_02]: That's okay. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm perfect. [SPEAKER_02]: You're fine with that. [SPEAKER_02]: Just letting you know if you vote for Republicans in Congress.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's who you vote for right now. [SPEAKER_02]: Just saying. [SPEAKER_02]: Look, we got another round of fresh in your drinks. [SPEAKER_02]: Do what you've got to do. [SPEAKER_02]: It's Jared and Jody and me and you. [SPEAKER_02]: Hangin' out on a Tuesday night. [SPEAKER_02]: Here at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_07]: We'll be right back after we pay some bills at the politics bar. [SPEAKER_02]: Holy cow, man, last call on a Tuesday night. [SPEAKER_02]: Heard to politics, bar.

[SPEAKER_02]: Good or not, it goes fast when you got some friends and you have some good discussion. [SPEAKER_02]: Of course, we got the one, the only Jared Rizzy in here. [SPEAKER_02]: Formerly, I'm serious, XM. [SPEAKER_02]: Formerly of the pre-Eleson CBS Radio News, you know. [SPEAKER_02]: Back, back when they had more integrity. [SPEAKER_02]: CBS Radio News is still doing pretty good, but don't tell anybody, don't anybody tell Barry why it's actually due radio still.

[SPEAKER_05]: I don't think she cares about that. [SPEAKER_10]: I've never had to see Scott McFarlane. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we'll talk about that a little bit too. [SPEAKER_02]: Look, if you miss any part of the regular show, you guys know what to do. [SPEAKER_02]: You can go subscribe to the politicsbar.com. [SPEAKER_02]: $6 a month. [SPEAKER_02]: Get you the podcast ad free. [SPEAKER_02]: It gets you the drink of the day with the recipe. [SPEAKER_02]: And it gets you the news on tab.

[SPEAKER_02]: Go subscribe. [SPEAKER_02]: You love it. [SPEAKER_02]: It's there at the politicsbar. [SPEAKER_02]: Dotcom. [SPEAKER_02]: So, since we are talking a little bit of media, Scott McFarland, who is, I mean, do you know him personally, Jern? [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, really well. [SPEAKER_10]: I mean, we haven't had kept in touch in the last couple of years, mostly, because he used to be, he used to be at NBC Washington, the local NBC affiliate here, but he would fill in on Syria.

[SPEAKER_10]: I'm not infrequently. [SPEAKER_10]: In fact, he was one of the guys who really loved doing mornings when he could fill in in the mornings. [SPEAKER_10]: And was out and around and just a really great broadcaster, a really talented newsman and a good journalist, you know, in the kind of a mold that isn't, they don't make a lot of broadcast journalists like that. [SPEAKER_05]: That is good. [SPEAKER_10]: Really like 100% agree. [SPEAKER_10]: I look, I see him leaving CBS.

[SPEAKER_05]: I understand why. [SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, he says it's his decision. [SPEAKER_10]: I have no reason to disbelieve that, but, you know, it looks like everyone who can is jumping that shit. [SPEAKER_02]: And they should, as far as I am concerned, look, when it comes to integrity, especially in news, but in general, in media, now more than ever, if you are involved in the news side of media, you need to have integrity and you need to stand up and you need to not be ashamed of it.

[SPEAKER_02]: I do wonder if he's going to the BBC, I think maybe there may be some type of little waiting period or something because there have been several things lately that he's done that he's put together, that he'd put together basically for CBS and of course because of Barry Weiss and that whole right-wing, you know. [SPEAKER_02]: BS garbage, but they're like, Oh, no, they didn't get played or whatever, and he's like, can I shop stuff about January 6?

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, because he's been very focused on that and and and he shop it and BBC is like, Hell yeah, we'll take it. [SPEAKER_02]: You damn good. [SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, it's got my father and great wishes to him wherever he ends up. [SPEAKER_02]: That is he is fan damn tastic as far as I'm concerned.

[SPEAKER_02]: uh... some other entertainment news as well uh... back to the paralympics uh... use paralympian patrick halgren broke through had a surprise paralympic silver in the standing super gee they have the standing and the sitting depending on you know what your uh... ability level is um... he had a uh... twin brother who also used to do this stuff and is twin brother past but he got silver sounds like [SPEAKER_02]: America's not doing too bad.

[SPEAKER_02]: I think you cranes doing pretty good. [SPEAKER_02]: It's, you know, it's, it's the Olympics. [SPEAKER_02]: This is the Paralympics, but it's still the Olympics. [SPEAKER_10]: It's light hockey by the way. [SPEAKER_10]: You, you, you had that link in the team you mentioned earlier. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_10]: And what a what a sport. [SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, I mean, like I'm sorry, hockey's great. [SPEAKER_10]: I go but watch it sled hockey.

[SPEAKER_10]: I mean, all you need now, you, you really just need some breakout, you know, gay romances for a heated rivalry, you know, parallel and he'd rivalry. [SPEAKER_10]: I'm not telling them how to get my interest level back. [SPEAKER_02]: No, I'm just saying whatever what a sports work is. [SPEAKER_02]: It's like sled hockey is great. [SPEAKER_02]: There, there are so many talented athletes in the Paralympics. [SPEAKER_02]: I just wish that NBC gave it more [SPEAKER_02]: visibility.

[SPEAKER_02]: I really wish they did as, you know, you can you can see it on some of like USA and I think CNBC sometimes certain parts of the day now like on a weekend in the evenings and stuff which I'm like that's fine instead of running reruns though run some of the parent like big stuff. [SPEAKER_02]: I just wish they gave it the same exactly that's that's my thing and it it it should be the same.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oscars, by the way, we are going to see if we can bring in brother David who used to be the film and theater critic at the LA Times. [SPEAKER_02]: So, and he talked and he's like, he's got some recommendations in case you missed it. [SPEAKER_02]: Let's see, Bagoña, F1, Frankenstein, Hamnet, Marty Supreme, one battle after another secret agent, sentimental value, sinners. [SPEAKER_02]: I can't remember the other one. [SPEAKER_05]: I've seen five Bagoña was great.

[SPEAKER_10]: Okay, I hadn't seen it yet, and I really want to. [SPEAKER_02]: It's so good. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm not going to spoil the ending. [SPEAKER_02]: I know the ending, and I'm not going to spoil the ending. [SPEAKER_02]: So good. [SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, that's a lot of stuff. [SPEAKER_10]: It's dead the whole time. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry, spoiler. [SPEAKER_10]: The wife did it. [SPEAKER_02]: It was his sled. [SPEAKER_02]: It was his sled.

[SPEAKER_02]: Look, it's, look, any, whether you're dealing with movies or whether you're dealing with news. [SPEAKER_02]: To me, I think the integrity factor that we're talking about matters so much, and it, you know, it matters in our politics too. [SPEAKER_02]: That's the thing that absolutely just flours me with. [SPEAKER_02]: So, okay. [SPEAKER_02]: In the second round of the news on tab, Trump's War against Democracy.

[SPEAKER_02]: We've talked a little [SPEAKER_02]: Um, but the center Republicans, you would think knowing that the save America act actually hurts their constituency more. [SPEAKER_02]: You would think they want to stand against it. [SPEAKER_05]: You'd think, but they don't want women to vote.

[SPEAKER_05]: Well, yeah, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they want, they want you pregnant even if you're 60, which, well, I mean, you can carry a baby, right, but I, little dangerous, but you can, you can't get pregnant, but you can carry a child. [SPEAKER_02]: I think the whole thing is just ridiculous. [SPEAKER_02]: And then, of course, Thune being like, well, I don't want to use the talking filister. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to get rid of the filibuster.

[SPEAKER_05]: Because if he gets rid of the filibuster, then they'll pass everything they want to pass. [SPEAKER_05]: And people realize how horrible they are. [SPEAKER_02]: Also, senators prize their power. [SPEAKER_02]: And the thing that gives them more power than any other single item in the Senate is the filibuster. [SPEAKER_10]: not only that, but especially for Senate Republican, yes.

[SPEAKER_10]: Almost everything that Senate Republicans want to do is doable via budget reconciliation, which is a lower threshold only need a majority. [SPEAKER_10]: And so you can get your tax cuts. [SPEAKER_10]: You can get a lot of dereg. [SPEAKER_10]: You can do a lot of the things that Republicans want to talk about with of 50 plus one. [SPEAKER_10]: So you can have 50 senators who are Republican and have [SPEAKER_10]: Senator Kennedy, you don't fall down.

[SPEAKER_02]: Senator Kennedy, you don't fall down. [SPEAKER_02]: Senator Kennedy, you don't fall down. [SPEAKER_02]: Senator Kennedy, you don't fall down. [SPEAKER_02]: Senator Kennedy, you don't fall down. [SPEAKER_05]: Senator Kennedy, you don't fall down.

[SPEAKER_05]: Senator Kennedy, you don't fall down. [SPEAKER_05]: Senator Kennedy, you don't fall down. [SPEAKER_05]: Senator Kennedy, you don't fall down. [SPEAKER_02]: Senator Kennedy, you don't fall down. [SPEAKER_02]: Senator Kennedy, you don't fall down.

[SPEAKER_02]: Senator Kennedy, you don't fall down. [SPEAKER_02]: Senator Kennedy, [SPEAKER_02]: that re-ups the clocks and they could do it again. [SPEAKER_02]: Every time they say, so when they let the budget labs, oops, sorry, we love the budget labs. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, we signed another CR and then they have another round. [SPEAKER_10]: But this bill was already loaded up with poison.

[SPEAKER_10]: They added more poison to it by putting in some of the things like these completely, these things that don't even not even germane to the main thrust. [SPEAKER_10]: They want to put a bunch of anti-trans nonsense. [SPEAKER_10]: Yeah, what is that?

[SPEAKER_10]: and you know Trump Trump saying I'm not going to sign anything until you pass and let me sign this say back well the first of all don't threaten me with a great time exactly also you you he he loves to talk about when people don't have the cards for negotiation he has [SPEAKER_10]: No leverage here.

[SPEAKER_10]: He's absolutely nothing and you know that he has nothing and you know that he knows that he has nothing because he's doing these Completely all or nothing threats that are meaningless Republicans are not paying attention to him anymore because he's worse than a lame duck He's a radio active lame duck [SPEAKER_10]: people are not going to want his endorsement, they're going to be too far away like this.

[SPEAKER_02]: So Trump sent the FBI to suspend other records in Arizona of the 2020 failed election. [SPEAKER_02]: And there's some details in there that the mainstream media completely freaking ignored. [SPEAKER_10]: Well, let me just correct you. [SPEAKER_10]: The election was a success.

[SPEAKER_10]: the inquiry was a success as you are correct because they found nothing he was wrong accusations of fraud were the failure and then you got more votes [SPEAKER_10]: I would like to call that an example. [SPEAKER_02]: Anybody remember these cyber ninja? [SPEAKER_02]: The people who are supposed to be counting ballots and screwed things up so bad that they literally had to replace the election machines in Arizona? [SPEAKER_02]: Yep. [SPEAKER_02]: OK, so here's the thing.

[SPEAKER_02]: The media screwed. [SPEAKER_02]: They screwed the pooch yesterday, Jared, on the whole New York thing, the whole... Oh, yeah, we were talking about this. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, exactly. [SPEAKER_02]: They screwed the pooch on this thing, too, because so, yes, [SPEAKER_02]: The FBI did have a subpoena for the records in Arizona.

[SPEAKER_02]: However, what they're subpoenaing most of the documents as well as the voting machines themselves, because of the cyber ninjas, will replace and destroyed. [SPEAKER_02]: So unlike in Atlanta in Foulton County, where they, you know, subpoenaed and they still had those because those ballots in Foulton County were only around because of some local losses. [SPEAKER_02]: They had to keep them available in Arizona. [SPEAKER_02]: They had no such thing.

[SPEAKER_02]: So they got rid of by law, uh huh, the machines and they got rid of all the ballots, stuff they don't have it. [SPEAKER_02]: So what they have subpoenaed? [SPEAKER_02]: What Trump's FBI has repeated is the records, the official records, this is how the election went, this was the official count, and whatever garbage that the cyber ninjas have, which was already among other things proven in court to be garbage. [SPEAKER_02]: That's what they subpoenaed.

[SPEAKER_02]: So it's not, and yet some of the mainstream media is like Booga, Booga, Booga, scary, scary. [SPEAKER_02]: They're coming to steal your luck. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, no. [SPEAKER_02]: Which, yes, they're going to try. [SPEAKER_02]: But you know what, what they subpoenaed won't do the many good.

[SPEAKER_02]: Because in order to just a pin of this and use this they would have to go to a court and a court would say well these are verified election records and the cyber ninjas stuff is verified garbage What do you want us to look at and they're never forgive you for reminding me of the cyber ninjas [SPEAKER_10]: I had successfully removed that memory. [SPEAKER_10]: It was like I paid, I paid like, you know, like in total recall, he just got a whole new set of memories.

[SPEAKER_10]: I have done it and then you just, you unlock, it was like, you, you read. [SPEAKER_10]: I'm gonna relive like the last 10 years all over again. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I can say it's, but that's just, it is that Trump keeps going back to the same well and being like, okay. [SPEAKER_02]: But remember, the last time that we did this, I lost, and it was garbage, and we took it to court, and I got my ass handed to me.

[SPEAKER_02]: But this time, it reminds me of that old joke about it, it's another dad joke, reminds me of the dad joke of the two kids, they go to little, you know, penny arcade movie kind of a thing, and they go, and they're going to watch the horse race. [SPEAKER_02]: So they go to, and the one says, the other says, I bet you 10 bucks, blue number two wins. [SPEAKER_02]: The other one says, you're wrong, so they watch it, blue number two loses. [SPEAKER_02]: They come out of it.

[SPEAKER_02]: One kid pays you to the 10 bucks. [SPEAKER_02]: He's like, yeah, I got to be honest, man. [SPEAKER_02]: I've already seen this. [SPEAKER_02]: And the other one says, yeah, I'd seen it too. [SPEAKER_02]: I thought it'd be different this time. [SPEAKER_10]: All right, here's the problem with this show. [SPEAKER_10]: That's one of those few clean, clean dead jokes tonight. [SPEAKER_10]: No, here's the problem, Sean, they were in a penny arcade and they're bidding $10.

[SPEAKER_10]: Are these kids, are these kids a thousand years ago or are they on the right? [SPEAKER_02]: And that tells you how old they are. [SPEAKER_02]: No kids, that tells you how old the joke is, man, come on. [SPEAKER_02]: I need to know when this joke is happening. [SPEAKER_02]: Kids go to a theater, not anymore. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, there's both their phones and, you know, look at TikTok. [SPEAKER_05]: I miss arcades. [SPEAKER_02]: I miss arcades, too. [SPEAKER_02]: I love arcades.

[SPEAKER_02]: Although, you know, some of them still have some arcades out there, but I like the ones that still have the old game. [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_10]: Galaga, Glaxon, Space Invaders. [SPEAKER_10]: If you could have an arcade machine in your house right now, what would is there a machine? [SPEAKER_10]: I had because there's an answer for this for me where it's like a machine that you you were so you either had so much fun.

[SPEAKER_02]: Are you talking a legitimate arcade machine or or any machine? [SPEAKER_02]: Because if it for me, I would have a name machine M.A.M.E. [SPEAKER_02]: It's a multi arcade machine emulator. [SPEAKER_10]: No, I mean like one cabinet that you actually play. [SPEAKER_05]: Hmm Which became galaga Top of the X-Men. [SPEAKER_10]: There was this all that's a good one to that fighter Galaxians, but there was a Star Wars one where you actually used a joy stick like it was.

[SPEAKER_05]: Oh, yeah That one was cool. [SPEAKER_02]: It's hard. [SPEAKER_02]: We're gonna keep this discussion going here in the after hours gang We got we got more we're gonna keep this discussion. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, get a few other things to talk about as well tomorrow Bob Cesca will be in. [SPEAKER_02]: You know him. [SPEAKER_02]: You love him [SPEAKER_02]: He will be here tomorrow, folks. [SPEAKER_02]: Jared and Jodi and I are going to go to the after hours.

[SPEAKER_02]: And we're going to go do the after hours. [SPEAKER_02]: So we'll see you tomorrow for those of you on the radio here at the politics bar.
