Welcome back to another episode of the Potty Report . So I told you over the last few months that I wanted to get more focused on understanding my numbers , and I wanted to kind of walk you through what that looks like today versus whenever I was just talking about it .

So , number one , I knew I needed to put some systems in place to make it to where it was . Just another thing that I did , like a podcast episode , right , podcast episodes just fly out of me at this point , like we're over 1300 episodes between both of my podcasts , like they literally are something I could do in my sleep .

And so I said , well , how can I make analyzing my numbers and tracking things just as easy ? And , eureka , the answer was right in front of me . It was like , well , you need to just set up a process , and you need to set up systems , and you need to just make it something that you do every single week .

It just needs to become a habit , just like recording your podcast has become a habit that you do every single time you need to put out a new piece of content . So what I did is for focusing on my numbers is I created different spreadsheets for the different types of content . Now I have one master spreadsheet where I keep all of my overall business stats .

So I have different tabs on them that say podcast , website , youtube channel , email list , my affiliate income products sold . So I can track high level , month over month , what's going on in my business and in my content . So I'm looking at all of my downloads , all of my followers , my subscribers . I'm looking at my metrics for open rates on my email .

I'm looking at which pages on my website are getting the most traffic . I do that once a month , but I wanted something that was a little bit more granular , that showed me how are things performing after they go out .

So , for example , it's not really helpful for me to know how many downloads I got in a month's period , as opposed to how many downloads does a podcast episode get in the first seven days .

Now , of course I could go on a bus route at any time and look at those numbers , but I wasn't doing that , I wasn't intentionally doing that and even if I was doing that every single week , I wasn't writing those numbers down anywhere .

So it's not like I could say , oh look , I got more this week or oh , no , I have , you know , 200 less this week , like I , there was . No , it was like , oh cool , there's more downloads , or there's downloads in there , great , it's not zero . And then I was going on about my business .

So I wanted to create something that was sustainable for me to track . So , like I have the month over month , right , it's every single month , and I created an Asana task for this too .

So every single month at the end of the month , I have , or you could do the end of the month , or the first day , or the first day the next , like the first week of the next month , but you have to track it . So you know , I'm recording this in August .

So whenever August 30th comes around , or I guess it's the 31st , right , 31 days , yes , you know what I mean . I was going to say October , so I'm like skipping over September completely , but that first week of September I'm going to say , okay , I need to finish all of my stats for August and have them input into my monthly tracker .

But on top of that , I also has a weekly tracker now that I do every single week . So in that tracker I have tagged the actual date that the episode went live . I put a link to the actual podcast episode on my website .

I have all of the stats for that particular one and I go back and update any of the other ones where it has like first seven day downloads and then first 30 day downloads , and I put those into this tracker . Now I'm just , at this stage , putting all the information in there and I'm just now starting to analyze it , so it's going to take you a while .

If you're going to do something like this , you need to just start putting all the information in there and let a few months go by whether it's 30 days , 60 days , 90 days but let that data build up a little bit and then you can take a step back over a quarter and say , oh , this is what's really going on , and then you can start looking at it monthly or

quarterly . You can actually see the details of what is happening . So I just wanted to give you an update on how all of my numbers are working out , and I will let you know more when I have more updates in the next quarter . But that's all I have for you today . As always , remember , keep it fresh , keep it fun and just keep going .
