Sunday, Sunday Sunday, Jerry World Man. I'll start with you, mister Moore, with you know this is it. There's no playoff game. What is the final game? Like the drive there, the whole thing is, you know, it's the last time you do it.

The last hoorah for some people you got anxieties and some people you know, it's a what they said, it's a wonderful filling but with the record showing what it is right now, nobody should have that cool, con collected unless you just the multi million dollar contract guy. Everybody should be nervous because what they say, all hands on deck. This is an open interview and an open cast call.

So like I said, this audition weekend.

Yeah, he's right, man, it's definitely audition weekend. You know.

Thankfully for my career, I've only been able to, you know, handle this type of situation at the beginning of my career, so my rookie year and then my last year.

In the league. Last year, I I was gone, you know, I knew it was a rap.

And then the first year, you know, we was rook's, me and m cray, everybody going at it. But I remember talking to, you know, send some Mike Jenkins at the time, guys that were you know, established veterans, and they were.

Basically like, man, look we gotta go out there the mall.

Like we were, what that's your wade got fired?

So I think we were like six and ten and we were ending it in Philadelphia and there was a couple of guys that were on one year deals, you know, one year prove it type deals.

And you know, at that time, I was thinking, Okay, I'm.

Gonna get some reps because there's no way, there's no way we're going to the playoffs.

You know, they're gonna let me get in there, blah blah blah blah. But the Vets, they was like, I got that good tape out.

I got young, You're gonna have your time, but I gotta put that good tape out because the season wasn't great. We started one and seven getting getting destroyed, and we bounced back a little bit, but there was no guarantees for nobody that was on the one unless you were Romo.

Dad's all them.

Everybody else was kind of like, man, I gotta put a good tape out here. I did get some snaps, but it was just a stressful situation for those Vets, And uh, I just can remember in that locker room, everybody taped it up. I thought it was gonna be a you know, happy go Look everybody in the locker room. Yeah, it's Goes last game and we headed the Vegas.

We're doing it.

People was tighten that un No, No, the only people that the only people that.

Is relaxed is like I said, the people that have that guaranteed contract. And yeah, they're talking about going there, but you go against a vet. They got to feed his family, a couple of kids. He might be angry if you're over here talking about the season over because he's taking this last game like it might really be his last game. So it's funny to see, like when you get in a lot of years of your career, like first few years in that when.

I got drafted Giant third round, I'm like, oh cool.

You know in this offseason, you see other guys over here crying, dapping each other at the end, and it's like, one, you might not get the opportunity. And then, like you said, in your last year you knew you were going to It's like, man, what it's a funeral when they say your football life might be over for some of these people.

And so it could be a tight situation.

We're talking about over twenty plus free agents for the Cowboys. So there's a bunch of guys that this may be the last ride.

Yeah, this is it's gonna be stress free for me. Yeah driving to the stadium, man, I'm taking my baby. But it's this team is going to look completely different. And this is a crazy way to end your season. Only two victories at home this season, the Giants and the Tampa Bay Bucks, and other than that, I mean, you hadn't really had much to cheer for at at and T Stadium.

And you know, there are.

Some guys, as you guys just stated, there are some guys that I think feel like maybe this is the end of the road with them here in Dallas. They may get an opportunity to go play forward, but you know,

Yeah, and it's gonna be some tears.

Bro And I will say this on an other spectrum because it can't be you know, tighte people getting tight and you know all that stuff.

But on the other side, and you know, I've been thankful to have had this as well, these guys like oh Diggi Zula who had had a good season. Yeah, free agent, you know you're about to get paid. So like you sitting there like, man, I'm gonna go out here do my thing. Are you excited? You just gotta make sure you get out of that game healthy. That's the main thing. Get out of here healthy, and you like go ahead and see what on on.

And then on another note to even just piggyback off of that, you got a guy in Carl Lawson who some people said, hey, he was at the end of the road, but he hit the boys come in and said now And on top of that, like you said, it gets greedy at the end because now it's time to put that explanation mark. Like what Jerry say, already the hay's already in the barn. Decisions are pretty much made.

So it's thirty one other teams. So like you said, it's an audition.

Same with the coaching.

Staff, Yes, sir, that's true.

Same with the coaching staff. They're all up, contracts are all up. So there's a lot of people this may be their last time walking.

Through that door.

It's crazy.

I wanted to ask you something on that, Like I know you said, it's a lot of people that say they're on there. It might be the last time walking

I think Mike has tried to just Hey, I'm going to go out here even and he spoke about it. It's my job is just be even out here, not get too high coming here, try to be the same guy every day. Yes, sir, I don't think Jerry's really told him anything.

I don't.

This similar to what happened with Jason at the end Jason's last because when the end Jason's contract was up.

Same old thing and they let it play out and then you know he was gone.

I'll say this, if I'm Mike McCarthy, I need an answer pretty quick because the other jobs available, and if I'm an assistant coach, I go to him like Scott told in him at what's going on? Because I need to figure out you know what do I do?

Where do you know? Where do I look to see?

Today?

Mike rabl was gonna be with the Jets.

So you know, say those interviews are already rolling in, so what they say, you don't want to pack your bags too early. But you can't have that LeVar bomb method with plan over here. You need to have a plan B, especially what's going on now.

So January fourteenth is the day official, it's officially over. But if you're the assistant coaches right now, you can't you can't wait.

You have to.

I got a guy starting to come home baby in my situation right yeah, I figure you got kids, just like the players got people.

Coaches do too.

So Mike's been very open about I care about my guys, and I'm caring about them because essentially he's making millions per year that he's locking up for the other guys or not. So Jerry said today basically, you know Sunday's game won't change anything.

Hayes and Bond, we know what we're gonna do. Okay, Yeah, in an ideal world, if you.

Know, shouldn't you give somebody heads up behind closed door, like if you if you respect your coaches, and if football is really a family, like we all obviously know it's a business.

We all got to show up, we have to perform.

But if you truly care about them and stuff like that, would you not give them the leg up like we know you're not going to have your contract, Like, go ahead, go do the interview. So that way, honestly, that way you let people know that this job is open, and that might send you more roosters coming to your hand.

It's ob week fifteen, you might want to test that.

Exactly right, so that I'm asking, like half the signs been in the sky already.

I don't think that they have and and I just basically come hopefully Monday, we know something. I would And I say that for everyone involved. Oh yeah, yeah, everyone involved.

You know, if you're if you if you want to go on the radio this week and say to hey somebody, we know we're gonna do that. You know on Monday. They're letting people know, right, let them know, let the coaching staff know. And then there's other it's like, you know, the the dudes in the strength room. You know what about those guys.

I've always wondered that does this straight training staff change with the with the coaching staff.

It's on the head coaches typically being like I've been I've been privileged enough to be around nine different organizations, and every time that you get cool with those guys, they say, like, some of those guys are tenured guys. A lot of head coaches are coming there and they won't change them. But majority of coaches, especially when they're trying to start everything from fresh show, they're bringing their guys in. It's just like a fraternity like oh, yeah,

And that's that is a very It really does depend on the head coach. Bill Parcells eventually wanted to make some change and so eventually kind of moved out.

Remember Georg Jurassic Oh yeah, Joe Joe was there.

Joe Joe Joe moved on. So I think some of that comes with the tenure of who the who the head coach is what they want. So except I there'll be people personally, there'll be some dudes that if they're not back, I'll miss him. Yeah, I'll miss him because you know there's some good people here and you know you hate to see him. But at the same time, you know, this is that job.

It's that job for long. This is what you're signed up for. And then what they say, you're in the business of what have you done for me lately?

So you're gonna cry. But at the end of the day, like they told me what you got about it, the show goes on. They gonna still smile, They're still gonna be working out, they still gonna be training, you're still gonna be reporting.

Like it all has to happen.

What's a guy that you can bring in to play with CD?

More appealing, but that if you if you had But that goes back to what you said, you gotta let him know early who's staying and who's going, because that's going to impact a lot of it.

Free agents want to know what kind of system they're going into you.

If I'm a free agent, I'm going in there and they say, hey, you give me a bag one money talk always money.

Talk, the BS walks.

But after that, I'm going to say, all right, am I going to the system that has made me productive and made me so appealing? Or am I going to play in the whole brand new system and the money's worth it? But we know how it is once you get the money and you get in the system that you don't like. What's the first thing you say, I don't.

Like it this and that.

Next thing, you know, if you got a certain amount of money, that coach gonna be gone before the player is. So if I'm a smart free agent, smart free agents aren't going to come in there with the uncertainty They want to know who their coach is, what type of system they're doing, so they can say, okay, I can see myself being the building block here. So that's why it adds an added pressure of saying, hey, who is your coach going to be? And not even just who

With a whole five to two scheme, Like.

Washington is favored to beat the Cowboys on Sunday at Jerry World Final Game of the Year.

Once that you're figuring out, you start looking, you say, hey, we're going to playoffs, We're going to Super bowlk now that we're not going to playoffs. I'm not going to be selfish, but if this is that contract, I gotta do these players, I gotta do that, and that's gonna put my team in the best situation.

I haven't seen Trey Lance play.

You haven't, you haven't, So what's what's the best interest of the team?

And I'm here's my thing, here's my what I feel like when it comes down to the money part of it, if Cooper Rush doesn't play, then that like off camera, we were just talking about that that tells you everything about what the organization thinks about you, because at the beginning of the of the year, I'm sure that was a number that Cooper Rush didn't even think that he would achieve because of Dak signing a new contract and obviously things happen, uh, And so he's been thrust into

But is the hay and the born on Trey Lance. Have you already seen or you already know?

Because when Mike McCarthy in his interview says, I've spent a lot of time with the quarterback and quarterbacks, and to me, that's cold for I know what these guys have and what they don't have.

I know who can make these reads and who can't make these reads.

Let's not make this decision here in the last game just to take half a million, quarter million dollars from this guy.

I mean, that would be that would be wrong.

We've seen it.

So yeah, I'm sure.

Are we talking about Trey Lance Part who were speaking on behalf of Because it's wrong. Somebody's gonna somebody's gonna get the short end of the pistol.

Yeah, well, I think I think when it when it comes down to Trey Lance, he hasn't shown you enough to even get those starts in the NFL. I mean we've already got that from San Francisco. They were out on him. We made a bad trade to bring him in. He was a bargaining chip against DAK, which doesn't make any sense now. So if you know the guy doesn't have anything, don't try and save face. Now, Let's not try and save face at the end of the game.

And that guy earned that by the way, coming in and look like the Philly Quarterbacks.

Minute, I love playing devil's advocate.

So if if it's me, I'm kind of with Hueye, like I understand if the Hens in the barn and we know that we're bringing Cooper Rush back, yeah, cool, you're gonna show him.

If you love him, let him go get his bonus.

But for Trey Lance as the underdog, I'm rooting for him to go out there and say, like obviously the Hayes in the barn, he's already said, Mike, I study these guys, I know them, I know what I'm going to get from them. If you haven't seen him now, you're not going to change somebody's mind in one game, at least not this organization. So we already kind of

Him to go in and learn behinw somebody else is an insurancy policy.

When do you say when do you say this guy can't play? When do you say that? When do you get to the point where you say it can't be done? He QB whisperer beat can't be done. When I think back to when the San France had brock party, what was the other guy behind him? He's down in Jacksonville behind him, but he had three quarterbacks and people was knocking at the door. It doesn't even matter at this point. But you can never have too many qbs. So hey, Eagles might Eagles might go over there and will and Gland trade.

I think, yeah, I know, I think he needs for his own individual going forward with the Cowboy, he needs to have a good game. I mean he's played, you know, has flashes throughout the season when they put him in the when he was in that dan Quinn system, that was perfect for him because he was in the box, he was downhill running hit and that's all the seatball go get ball.

But I told you all about this at the beginning of the season.

They've had him too high safety. I don't know if we got the personnel to do that, and he's gotten exposed in a couple of games this year. So for me, my cool customer, let Donald get back to what he does, get some good tape out there, and then we'll see what happens next year.

But that's a man that needs to have a good game in my opinion. All right, man, I'm gonna have to go with Cooper Rush.

I think he he's the guy because when it comes to this game, you gotta put the Like I said, this is an exclamation mark game.

When you go out there, you have to say, hey, I am y'all.

Backup, like this is what you have. Because we all know Dak got paid. He's going to be the guy when he comes back. So Coop is gonna build value in himself of solidifying that backup role or potentially taking that leap, just for somebody to say on another team, hey, he's our starter. We need to go get him. Like he's been sitting behind there long enough. So this is the moment where you can say, hey, in the moment of tragedy, I've been able to prevail and Shane and

That's where it comes to. That's why I said, go out there.

If he does something and play lights out in a game that doesn't matter against Washington, like yeah, somebody might say, hey, he got enough grit, can he can come in here and push my quarterback? And who knows if he goes in there and push the quarterback, he might win. If he was with the Raiders he want to join exactly for sure, he can start for the Raiders.

So that's what I said.

It's a lot of other.

Teams you could potentially be interviewing for do I think.

He's the guy?

No, but he can.

Michah the missile Parsons is mine. Yet he gotta have to be.

And the reason I'm saying is because right now I think Washington is on fire. They've had so many offensively, Jaydon Daniels is is mean boy, and that's he's one of those players that can impact and he can embarrass you in a in a number of different ways. I've discovered just by watching him. I thought it was just coming out of l s U.

I doubted him. I didn't. I didn't see this right.

But his ability to transition to a running quarterback back to a throwing quarterback, I think he does it a lot better than guys expected him to. And Michah has to put a lot of pressure on him. You saw when they played out in d C. Michael was a big time impact on the end that game. I think he has to have a repeat of that. And Micah

So Micah is my guy.
