You know, they haven't activated the window, but all roads are leading to seventy seven being out here for the Cowboys sometime this month playing in football game, which means Tyler Smith your left tackle and rookie is not going to be a left tackle. Now. I don't don't throw it to me because you let me throw it up.

There should be no reason seventy seven should be back in the lineup, all right, I just I'm just gonna put it out there like that. I understand the man's a Hall of Fame player, one of the best left tackles to play the game. But that was then and this is now. All right, the offensive line, you just said it yourself. They've given up what fourteen sacks? Fourteen the least amount in the National Football League. So why go ahead and in search somebody else in there and

mess up the module they got going? Why do that? You are protecting Dak Prescott, your franchise quarterbacker, doing a fantastic job protecting them. Oh, let's not mention the run game. We ain't acting like they ain't creating holes for Tony Pollitt and Zeke. These guys are running through teams. It's a part of the formula. The offensive line is a continuity. It's a unit you just can't mismatch and play with it. All right, this ain't fantasy football. We understand what the guy.

We understand what Tyrn Smith is. He'll be your best swing tackle in National Football League. Simple is that the unit is already jailed. It's already put together. They're playing phenomenally while I messed that up. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. You know BC twenty sixteen, Man, when you signed with the Jaguars, that hurt my heart. I still haven't recovered from that. I just want to tell you,

I still haven't recovered from that. So being in the studio hearing you say what you just said, Man, it really just it impacts me because I understand from you. You know what it takes to get to that level. You know that there is a unridden rule in football that says you cannot lose your position due to injury. And on top of that, this man is You just did the whole breakdown the only forty two weeks now.

You just did what I do, Hall of Fame, all of that, and did say this man is a swing tackles the league, the best, the swing tackle in the league. The fact that he's come in and he's played up to where he is, that's a surprise to everybody. Pleasant surprise, but a surprise. This offensive line is held up. I understand the continuity, the synergy, all of that that you have going on right now.

You want to keep it. But who's to say you can't be better with seventy seven at left tackle and seventy three at guard. The best passing block, pass blocking, officsive line in the league right now. I mean, why why can you may not mess that up? You may, you may, You may add too that offensive mine. It's

Smith the future, right He's the future at left tackle. Yeah, maybe two years from let him r heck Man, you weren't here the last two years when this man rode with me against Danny mccraig about yeah, I got I got he Danny's been wanting. Danny's been saying seventy seven should have moved off from Frevden. He actually wanted the Cowboys draft for Sean slater Um at that spot where they ended up taking parts. So therefore we would have seen Tyler Smith out of left tackle. Anyway, he would have transitioned from guard out to tackle. We don't know where he would have been because he would have been acclimated

at guard. Now it's tackle moving inside and from from me, I think that's an easier transition from for him having worked at left tackle this whole time now to go back inside the guard. So it may be easier to ramp up Tyron Smith than it would be to moving back, you know, doing it the other way. That's just you know what I'm saying, Just just by the way that the game flows for a left tackle. I just don't see why are we trying to you know, one of

the best in the business. Hall of Famer, that's what you just Sammon, you led with that Bro's he's a dog. I'll give it to he is a dog, he's a beast, He's all this good stuff. I hadn't seen it happen for anybody else, so I wouldn't think that he would. I just don't

see it. Just depends on what he wants, and that's probably going to be maybe in the ten to twelve range, and that, to me, that's that's a lot a year for God coming off his second ACL surgery, thirty years of age. I mean, we just don't see the Cowboys make moves like that, you know, we don't see that happen much around here. So to me, you know, look, if he comes back and he can be that you know, old Odell Beckham even give one or two plays of

spectacularness a game. I could see that on a one year deal, I could see that maybe, but multiyear deal. Letting him come in here and kind of establish himself as part of this culture. I just I don't see why, Like you said, those tight ends, those tight ends that we have, those three guys over there, they can supplement what you know, he could bring as a wide receiver

number three in my opinion. So look, you know, I get he's he's polarizing, he's marketable, like he can bring everything to the Cowboys, but we already got that with the Star. So yeah, I don't see it. I don't

see it happening. The other thing about it, I think that's interesting is when you look at Kelly Moore's offense and it's been his reputation hasn't been that he is a play caller that plays, that calls plays for players that it's plays And so Odell Beckham would have to come in and fit into a system basically, And so that's what we were worrying about, you know, Dak having to feel like he has to fit these balls into Odell. I don't think in this system it will work like that.

And so that's the other part that I find. You know, how would he take that, because I'm sure mcvadh was like, hey, we're drawing this specifically up for you. This is your play, this is your these are your set of plays. I don't think he would have that here. No, No, I think you have that in Buffalo either. So I don't know. He's in a pickle. It's a situation. Heck on, let me let me just kind of put it this way.

When I think about Odell Beckham Junior, m Odell Beckham Junior is going to look at it someone like Michael Gallup and say I am better than Michael gallus by resume, it's better than Michael Gallas. Michael Gallup signed accordanspoltrack dot com five years, fifty seven point five million, got ten million signing mos average salary of eleven and a half million dollars twenty seven million of it's guaranteed. He had twenty three million of that guaranteed its signing. So so

we talked about this. Yeah, so okay, um wide receiver is going to bring in ego and resume and say pro bowls rings. Uh, you know me? And if Jerry tried to come in and less than eleven and eleven and a half million dollars, you think he's gonna say okay, you think so? So to me, the price tag is starting at eleven and a half. If that's what Michael Gallup is getting, Hodell Beckham Junior is going to say I'm better than him. Yeah, he'll say that and then

and and he would not be wrong. Resume a wise and what he's done in this league, Odell Beckham Junior is a better player than Michael Gallups. So that I mean, if you're the agent, it's kind of like selling a house, right, Okay, if if Michael goat If Michael Gallup's home is worth eleven point five and I'm Odell Beckham Junior, I don't think my house is gonna be worth a little bit more,

and he's going to want that most likely. So there in lies the question of how they have to start to think about what kind of deal are you gonna get? The framework I believe your your floor would be Michael Gallups. And to me, it comes down to what you talked about. You know, I think it was yesterday or last week we talked about prioritizing who you gotta pay and the Cowboys they've saved a lot of money. You talked about that Randy Gregory deal. They still got a lot of

cats on deck. You talk about the big briefcase. They got digs coming up CD you know Anthony Brown. I mean, they got a lot of cats coming up. So you're willing to sink that much bread into something, into an unknown commodity. Yeah, he has star power back in the day. But is he still that guy? Is he still that that force of nature on offensively? I don't know yet. So I would give him a proven deal if if that's what the cowboys want. But he don't want that.

We all know. I'll tell you what his agent better hope a cat like Barry Church is not in the front comments because he'll call your Hall of Fame left tackle tackles as soon as has been used to give me the MRI on that knee. Look at this, Look at this, Look at this. I gotta see it on the field. That's all I got. Let me see some cuts, let me see some you know, some posts, some comebacks. Let me see something. No, I mean, I agree with you.

I've always my argument has been I don't want any situation to come in, especially with what we had with this group and the culture change that has happened since Mike McCarthy has been here to be a player to disrupt all of this. You have so many good guys now in that locker room that are all pulling and working together, and I'm not. And that's the thing about Odell.

I think sometimes he gets a bad rap for being being how he lived in the head button and thing, all that stuff that has followed him through his career, the way that he got out of Cleveland. It's just been a lot that has come with him. He's gonna get a lot when he gets here. Anyway, once he signed, If he signs with the Cowboys, it's gonna be a media firestorm. We're gonna talk about that for two weeks

on this show. You're regardless, so even the feed, Yeah, you know, just saying, looking at cap hit numbers for next year, Okay, just kind of give us a little bit of idea of where the Cowboys gonna be for twenty twenty three. Dak Prescott's cap hit forty nine million dollars, DeMarcus Lawrence twenty six million dollars, Zach Martin nineteen point nine million dollars, Tyrand smith Is seventeen point six million dollars, Zeke Elliott sixteen point seven million dollars, Michael Gallup is

at fourteen million dollars. Then the drop off starts to happen. Dorin's Armstrong is at seven, Jay Ron Curses at six point two million, Jordan Lewis's six point one, Michael Parsons is at four point six, Cede Lamb is at four point four million dollars, then Malik Hooker's at four point three. Then it drops all the way down into the three millions,

and that's where Tyler Smith hits. So this is just kind of an idea where numbers are at right now, and Odell Beckham Junior is going to find himself in that upper echelon when you're talking about players in pay. So what kind of deal do they do? Do you frontload some of this? You backload it? And then you know, how do they have this thing right there? And he had incentivelated deals with the Rams, by the way, though

there were incentives that were in there. So, um, you know, listening to what Josina Anderson is talking about, what we're all talking about here is it's going to take a multi year contract and the Cowboys are going to have to get creative and how they set it up. I just y'all really think he's he's worth that getting into like, let me make sure I do this to this around, make sure I turn this around, make sure I get this guy to take a break. Is he worth also?

So let me just preferace this way and shoot me down. Tell me if I'd crazy listening to Cowboy Fan. They saw the Rams last year and said they're trying there. They don't care about the picture, trying to win. Now they put in hey, Jayla Ramsey, we want you, Von Miller, we want you Odell Beckham Junior with they put it in Stafford, let's go the Cowboys. They feel like are not doing it when they have the opportunities to do it. Man, this is a copycat league, and I think people are

always with the latest greatest. But before the Rams did what they did, it was all about the Patriots motto. And the Patriots didn't pay nobody. They built through the draft. They when you were passion, your prime, your peak or whatever it was, get out of here, you know. And that's the way that they're kept. And so those things changing. I think that Stephen, and this is the front office

in general. I think they went to a different approach with players when you saw them making giving those big contracts out in the past, they should have gave you yours. But I'm just saying, you know that all of those things started to change over the years with them letting goal of players or guys that were not producing, or milcontents and all those things. The nucleus of this team that they have right now, they have a good group offensively, let's talk about the numbers from where they were to

where they are now. This offense is completely made a one eighty and turned in a whole other direction. So the whole question in our minds from the beginning of the season where we needed a receiver to now, hey man, these guys are actually starting to come around. The fan model will change as they see the success of the season. Goal. So is Odell Beckham a star in the NFL. You

can't question that, dog. He is a star. Here's a guy that can come in If he comes in here being positive and motivating these guys, he can be somebody that can be a part of this system working. Is he willing to do that. We have to sign Ceedee Lamb. We have to sign Tony Pollard, We have to sign There's a lot of guys that need to get paid around here and just him jump in the line right now. May not sit well with some guys, but they want him. The guys in the room warning, so he ain't talk

to everybody, you better talk to Noah Brown. Fact, that's No. Eighty five. Nobody asked to get up. I ain't heard from no way. The Pro Bowl players to man man have said that they would like it. And so I'm just basing it off that guys. That's all I'm doing, Just just basing it on that guys. That's so disres

It's not until offensively they started realizing to take the ball out of Blake Bortle's hands and give it to Leonard for Nette. That that's when I realized, Okay, we got something going, because he threw the ball maybe fifteen twelve times a game. Once they took out his hands, I was like, yes,

we got a chance, we got a chance. And then they muss around to paid that man. But anyways, Dallas Cowboys, they're in the same situation. They realize when Dad got back, if they were able to stick to that same formula that they had gone with Cooper Rush, that this team would be dangerous. And I doubted it. I. Hey, they're gonna get Dak back, They're gonna try to throw this thing all over the yard. They're gonna revert to that Madden playball, and they haven't. They hadn't done that yet.

Dak has done a great job being a great play action quarterback. So I think they understand where they are and where they can be. They just gotta get there now. It's the dick alright. So basically what you're saying this is the def and I'm just relating this to where the Cowboys are. It's the defense fine tuned enough where you say, all right, this is a playoff ready defense, and you still need to see it from the offense.

See defensively. I'm still because I don't know about that Runde's Like, I understand what they did against the Minnesota that you know that was, it is what it was. But I want to see if they can come in here and shut down JT. Jonathan Taylor, if he if he has nothing out there that I'm all right, man, this defense is starting to realize where their strength is and where their weakness is. And you know, they fix that whole thing. But if they can get that going,

they can stop the run. Who's gonna mess with them? They can't pass the ball on them. And if you can stop the run, I mean you've becoming a complete defense there. And that's a scary sight, man, It's a scary sight. And cut down on the penalties. Yeah. No, LL talked about that too, so today's too. But they've got they've got to cut down on the penalties. But most of all, after your performance of green Bay coming off the buy um ten days off, they need to come out here at home, set the tone, knock these guys off, finished round one of the AFC Classic South South Classic and move on to Houston.
