The following is a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club. This is the player's laud broadcasting live from Dallas Cowboys World headquarters at the Star. Now your hosts Buried Church, Danny McCray and new he scrugs. Here we go Friday. Yeah there it's time. Yeah there, Uh, hold on, Church, this is let me get right. Don't don't, Rudy, it's okay. Um, yeah, we think the studio is disinfected.

We're good. Let's think we're good. We're good, and the tours come back here right, Hey, we got hands headed times here Star. All right, he's buried Church, Danny cray scrugs, plays lounge and look, we will get into some Cowboys football, but we must talk about what is dominating not just events here North Texas in the United States, but are across the world, the coronavirus. And one of the things

that shocked me. Okay, so I'm sitting at dinner, in my dinner break between having to go back to do TV, and then I see up there that Rudy Gobert has has tested for coronavirus. And then of course as you

go to Handy Twitter because Twitter forgets nothing nothing. They show video of Rudy Gobert earlier in the week touching microphones basically laughing about the contact rules are hey, And now later on we see Donovan Mitchell also tests for coronavirus at Adrian war Janowski of ESPN tweets out that Rudy Gobert has an issue in the locker room because of his carelessness and the way he was playing around.

So I called, I called up, do you talk? You know, you try calling people, you know, And I said, hey, So Rudy gave it to Donovan. And then this person said, well, wait a minute, you don't know who had it. First said you could have been carrying it and not showing any signs. So they said, to blame Rudy right out of the gate is wrong. I was like, well, I'm no doctor and I don't know, I said, but what

do we know. Rudy wasn't exactly acting responsibly with this. Yeah, you don't even have to blame Rudy for passing it on. You just blame him for negligence and ignorance. If he gets blamed for being dumb, and you know, in some cases, like I said, you messed with it. This takes me back to when uh perfect was was trying to hurt people on the football field, and I was like, let me tell you something, if that was people, I knew

he would have got the Pauls put on them. But this is Rudy Gobert is the perfect the NBA, just in this, in this moment. It's like, bro, listen, how whatever you feel about the coronavirus, your feeling, keep it yourself, keep it to yourself. It's other people out there. They feel the opposite of you that you feel, So don't put them in in in home's way because you feel like being then playful and I don't want to hear that. Man, I didn't know and uh, you know, learn from my mistake. Nah,

black eye. Now they all got it, Yeah, go ahead. And now I'm saying we're talking about that with new like it's him. And then now whoever went back home with their families and the kids and the kids and all that stuff, And so now not just your teammates or any have an issue or the media, it's their families as well. Exactly. I mean, he gotta be one of the one of the dumbest things I've ever seen

in my life. I mean, the guy's going around there playing about the virus that he knows nothing about it. He just heard from somebody else. It's not that dangerous. Are let me go spread and touch it? Even if you don't have a disease. What are you what people go out there just randomly touch people and touch their things and all that type of stuff. I mean, like

you said, like there's people on that team. Could God have kids at home and he spread it to them, and now they're spread it to their family and kids, and maybe they sped it to their grandparents. And we know that the coronavirus is, you know, affecting the older, older population. So I mean, you just don't do anything like that. That was just a dumb mistake, just a stupidity. And if I'm one of those teammates and I ended up, we gotta have some words, man, because yeah, but you

just want to spread down. We got kids at the house. We're gonna have to have some work. That is what wos was ended up talking about on a Sports Center hit with Scott van Pell where he said he said, there's an issue in that locker room right now time with what happened Rudy Gobert, I think about your situation. Your wife's expecting, and think about you, Barry, your wife just had a baby days ago. Congratulations the beautiful dog second time, second time, second time. And you know I'm

just out here, you know, producing, I'm producing. I'm done. I'll say that. But okay, let me hip you out on that. I'm done. Fan, Um, did you watch tubes get tied? Nah? Take take it from a veteran. When number three, the going out of business baby happens. I watched doctor Swinnerman go ahead, and we likely to be in the house for the next for the faciable. But the ain't no sports all No, he's he's out a commission for now. Now we have no idea what this

is going. Yes, all right, So this is what Rudy Gobert put out on social media. Quote. I want to thank everyone for the outpouring of concern and support over the last twenty four hours. I have gone through so many emotions since learning of my diagnosis, mostly fear, anxiety, and embarrassment. And the first and most important thing is I would like to publicly apologize to the people that I may have endangered. At that time, I had no idea I was even infected. I was careless and make

no excuse. I hope my story serves as a warning and causes everyone to take this seriously. I will do whatever I can to support, using my experience as a way to educate others and prevent the spread of this virus. I am under great care and will will fully recover. Thank you again for your support. I encourage everyone to take all the steps just stay safe and healthy. Love. So that's rudly good man. This what I hate. Uh. You know, somebody apologize to people and they'd be like, uh,

I want to apologize if I hurt your feelings. You listen, you obviously apologize it because you did something you shouldn't have been doing that you may have it now. You endangered everybody in there, made everybody that you came in contact with. You apologize to all the media, all your teammates, everybody that you was in that being careless with Hey, man, I apologize to y'all. You didn't make it wasn't no made you put You don't got the NBA post. Yeah,

what are you talking about? As soon as that you came out and everybody was like us, I think I've seen a story there was like Chris Paul went over and they was asking like, what's what's wrong with Rudy And everybody on the team was like, hey man, y'all get away back, he's sick. Yeah, back. Right after that, I saw that, and then it was NBA postponed, and then of course you know good old Twitter, they showed

they show a recent game. Then Rudy shoots a free throw, misses it, and old boy from Toronto's ends up getting the ball, kisses the ball. Yeah. So so one minute, everyone who has played Utah recently, you've got to go get tests. So when the NBA shut it down, my first thought was, Okay, that's real smart because you don't know who else may have it. And when we started talking about lawsuits and everything, you gotta go ahead and get everybody in your league tested. Your players, your staff,

your coaches, I mean everyone. Yeah, you got to sit up here and make sure your league get safe. Because we already saw because I was the Mavericks game when they told hard we go shut down the high five line. You still have fans there, so they were trying to keep fans in distance away. So this is a smart thing. By I think all leagues until you find out more, you don't know. I just don't know. So since you don't know, and you can't assure anyone, and I go

back to your situation. Your wife just had a baby, your wife's expecting, Taking precautions is the right thing to do. NASCAR, by the way, I was going to race this weekend, say no, fans, well they just came out today, and NASCAR said, nope, nothing, No, nothing's gonna go down in Atlanta're gonna postpone that the Masters comes out, postpones their their tournament was all the NCAA tournament shut down men's

and women's teams. And as a Carolina fan because because matar Hills lost nineteen games this year, you can't say Carolina is nobody play right, nobody play. You can't say turnbody outside of Carolina. There's so many bigger issues right now. You're not even paying. You're good. One national champion of this uh of this year. You know who it is. L Tigers will be the only chawenty college season of sports. Go Tigas. Yeah, we represent here we go and we did it. We did a historical fast and so true.

This is true. I feel I feel bad for like the Datings though the Datings of the world, they were number one scene going into they might never get back to this. So should they grant another season of eligibility

to senior Well, of course, yeah, if they want to stay. Yeah, if you want to stay, I think that you should have that option to get another year because this is something that's unprecedented and these kids are in a lot of cases losing out on the biggest moments of their entire life, some of them the last moment that they will even be able to play the sport that they love.

So yeah, give them a little shot because it's tough, because you can't just say, you know, let's postpone it, and then when it all clears up, will run attorney because they haven't picked the teams to go in attorney. Well, let's cancer, Yes, it was cancer. The other portion of that, and how big this tournament is. You've got secure buildings, you've got to secure dates and hotel and all that stuff that's gone. That's what because I'm sometimes why don't

you just postponed? Say you don't understand travel, how tough that is the logistics to just get these tournament sites and these hotels and things, and people book this stuff and supports that this tops book years in advance. Over SMU, they had, um they were going to have the women's regional final over there. So they've been working on that, planning that for years. And so you just can't say, oh, hey, um, in about sixty days, we're gonna go ahead and have

this here. No, that's a whole because what happens to other things that already booked already the Mercedes and stuff, well, the Mercedes Bens Dome in Atlanta, I mean, you know from what we have right here, with what happens with the Jerry World. You're booking event and you've got stuff there all the time. You start if you walk into now they breaking down the it was halfway put up because we have the USA Conference tournament. Not walking into

the they and the court was half put up. And then you start seeing the tractors carrying that stuff back. And it's hard to book a book of time here at the Star, So I can imagine how difficult it is to do at and T Stadium or about years. I mean, these things, these dates are booked years in advance, and so that that becomes a true issue when people just say, hey, you know, why are you canceling something here?

Postponing is not easy. So even for the masters turn me okay, they're gonna say, we're gonna postpone it, So when do you do it? And trying to find what works so players can all get here. I mean, it's true. It's it's all um not as easy as everyone likes to think. Hurt somebody today talking about the the NFL Draft, which is supposed to be in Las Vegas in April, and somebody said, well, if you cancel it, just you should just give it to Las Vegas next year. And

I just heard it. What about people the next city gonna hold up? You know, I guess like like, oh, the super Bowl, then we gonna let's give it back to uh to Miami for the past season. If something would have happened now, because waiting they waiting for that chair right now. One so you're supposed to go to Cleveland. He had Cleveland. I mean, you know what happened was But here's the thing there too, So the folks in Cleveland already know they're gonna have it, so they're already

making their plans. What will most likely happen. Let's just say Las Vegas is canceled. I go back to what happened to the NBA All Star Game with Charlotte when they ended up taking that away because of that bathroom bill. They took it from Charlotte and they said, get your law straight and then we can come back to you. So they ended up getting they resended the law, so

they got rid of the bathroom bill. And then a couple of years down the road when when they had open spot, Adam Silver and the NBA gave it back to him. So if Las Vegas is canceled, she's not like you just said, well, we should go rolling in the next year, because once again you're talking about having to book facilities and hotel. This is a big operation. I mean you saw what with Dad here over Cherry where. I mean, that's a big operation. You just can't say, yeah,

we're can move with you next year. No, and Vegas has always packed. Ain't like you can just have a weekend for everything, so to be memorial that the next week did you lot for a weekend? You know it's always something basketball would be there, like you ain't just pushing them out. So NBAB resumed and all of a sudden you got the money else and you know, so

they got a lot of lots to compete with. To just talk about postponent and so when you also talk about trying to move things, Let's say your date runs up to someone he already has it. Okay, are you willing not to buy out that contract? Of the particularly depend on which contract that right, But those are things

that those are things that go into affect you. So a lot of people just think that, hey, you can just push up down to a postfold, and in the world of business and travel and bookings and conventions that that's that's well. Let's let's also let not forget to touch on this is under the assumption that everything will be fine in that town. That's true. This is we still right. So you can say, yeah, we go we gonna bump this back of mind, who's say we will

still going through something in the mind. You know, you could put these dates all you want to, but until it's fixed, like they said, it's fixed, everybody got a play what players lounge? Barry Church, Danny mccraie, I'm knew, he scrugs. One of the things that I had a concern about and we're still going to figure out what the NFL is going to do. What about visits, Yeah, ot a lot of those have been canceled, right, I

don't know. I saw a lot of teams put out notices yesterday and they got all these scouts and all the staff to come back home off the road. And I've seen some of them canceled h official visits for teams for the draft, and that's gonna hurt. That's gonna hurt the cats that are like, you know, fifth round, sixth round, like because they used the prote as like a place you know, if you weren't invited to the combine. Yeah, I didn't go to combine. So PROD for me was

that's you. That was like, that was my opportunity to show you. And without it, I would I would have never. I wouldn't be here. I mean, look at Jodie Fould get found. I send a text over Gary pat Duson, the head coach at TCU football, and I just said him, what about your pro dat? So now is it your pro dat? You know you're doing zoom where everybody's just kind of looking here, see me, what are you doing? Because I would say this if I'm a university, if I'm an age, I just don't want to. I gotta

figure out. I've got to put something on on film for for my clients, especially for the ones who said, look, I'm not gonna run to the combine, or the ones who ran to the combine and maybe they got a faster track, so they want to redo it that right, I mean they talked about it on the Draft show here on on Dallas Coboys. I come about Ohio State and how Ohio State's got a faster track than the combine. So so these pro dames that you talked about, they matter,

they matter. So this we've got a lot of as I said, somebody's fluids. It's a lot of fluidity to this is a lot. So listen. So you brought up Joe Dfind to me, so just to talk a little bit more about those guys who didn't go to the combine, it's guys. So we talk about zoom and getting getting your film and your times to coaches and all that. Nobody was looking at me when I went there. They were going to watch the other guys who were going

to the first and second and third round. So me sending my film to those guys, it would have just went by the wayside. I was able to be seen just because it was all the teams coming to watch the other guys who had the talent there. So this is really gonna affect guys like big time. They ain't gonna kill like the Bona Fact, like the Bradies of the World Bana Burrows. I'm sorry, I ain't gonna kill those guys, but the six rounders, the undrafted guys like myself.

I mean, it's protests. See, I'm sure a lot of people came to your prote specifically to see you get some other guys like I'm glad I played with Barry Church. How was it on the running back for the Jets? He went to Jacksonville for a little bit. Big dude number thirty three, Chris Ivy. I think, Chris, did you have to dress? Yea, he can't to lead those pro day and because he was like, man, there's gonna be a lot of Scout stats and he ended up getting

picked up. I thinking, like the six rounds off of that protest, if it was a zoom or they had to sit there something now, but this is this is what the times call for. So we shall see all right, Um, who knows what happens next week in terms of free agency? NFL saying everything as usual, but we don't know. And oh, by the way, there's this CBA vote and it's going to be interesting. There's one NFL player right now is saying, hey, everybody, shut it down. We'll tell you exactly who that NFL

player is next right here on the players lounge. I'm Jay Nobacheck, former tight end for the Dallas Cowboys. Back in the day. They only national champion of twenty twenty. Writing in the book when you watched the thirty for thirty and a couple of years, it's gonna say that there was one national champion and they represent in all sports and all schools from twenty twenty thirty year of one. It's gonna be the Birthway goal, the representing my UNC Pembroke Braves. There we go, can't back in the house, so our kids, well, all the bus going to the NCAA tournament D two nca turn turn around, had to turn around and come

on back. Yeah. Man, you see they closed in a lot of states. Ohio, I know for sure they closed all the schools, even like for three weeks extended the d ST right now for another week. Certain schools here they got another week. And my kids, I don't know yet talking to my wife to day, might be might be part two coming up. I think they will be. Yeah, I think they will be a part which because you can have half of them going and you're you're in

an independent school. Just can't you do whatever you want? Blowback the blowback from my outbreak at the school. Yeah, yeah, you're definitely getting rock are you the one district your side not were good play out radio? We bought all the lights off. That means I got to spend another week playing Ben pancakes. Well, I want blueberries and my pancakes. I don't want blue Okay, fine, I'll make to wash dishes,

doing trash. Louise helping you spend more quality time and times of the day when you wouldn't usually be able to. Ain't got what the little ones man. You gotta embrace it, know from somebody with no kids, that's what you coming to school. My oldest all three, I'm sleeping in so they I left. I left the house about nine forty to come over here, and they want everybody was sleeping daddycakes, pancakes, pancakes. I did no breakfast to that. I know breakfast to that.

You gotta take mama's handling that. You got that on good on Friday. On Friday, I gotta go to your podcast. I'm good. I'm good on that end. But yeah, another week of spring break. Man, just doing this melting over there, y'all get me laughing. I started sweating on the sweat that you don't you come in. I saw the rain clouds and I was like, it might be a little chilly out, so I'm gonna throw this hoodie on. You got all you gotta do. What I meant to do was throwing a T shirt. All I got as a

beater on, so I can't take it off. So now you just build it. I can't. I might have to the break. It might come body hand you. You usually can't see water through that. But then it's going to just go like this. I knew we got that anti first version. Even ain't even send me this connect yet. Ball, but a spot I got if you need it, a house straight now it's interest gonna be good coming down now. No, I got in my backpacks if you need it, because because I travel with it for all my live shots.

It's right there. I got two of them. I got two anti showns and just gotta stop laughing. I gotta stop laughing. We got We're not gonna laugh. The CBA a collective bargaining agreement. So the NFL owners have approved a ten year deal that they say we're good with. So they've sent it to the NFL players and their union and they're supposed to vote. It has been very interesting because what we thought at one point time, like oh it'll pass that, now it may not. Eric Reed

of the Carolina Panthers is not happy. He believes that the NFL is going to take it to disabled players in this new deal. He said, cool, this proposal reduces the previously awarded benefits, It goes back and takes from disabled retirees. It breaks promises already made, promises made to the most vulnerable players. This is a clear moral issue. We need moral courage right now. Here's what's interesting about what Air Greed said. I had a veteran NFL player

call me yesterday and go through the whole things. And I don't know if he says page three, nine ninety five, but he gets into it and He basically said, look, they are about to really hurt some older players if they passed the D said, guys aren't reading this, and he's and so that's what he told me. And so he says that, and then I hear this from bear Grieg, so very interesting. But at the end of the day, he said, how many guys are going to get to

three hundred pages if it's forty pages? Guys don't read this. Let me tell you something if you if you want to know anything about the CBA, just go through his timeline. He actually posted pages. I think he broke it down to about six pages or pros and cons of why, why it's good, and why it's bad. So you don't even have to read off on the pages. You can get some pretty strong bullet points for why he feels the way that he feels without having to go through

for the pages. If you do, he might feel differently about are they saying that the new CBA is catered towards players that are in the league Right now? It's cater towards revenue and paying people more and that's what now and then when they leave, basically, yeah, they're thinking about thinking about that, anything about that but they got

to them. Eventually, they're gonna be out. More from Eric read his imagine if all the players would have stood by Colin Kaepernick after he wasn't signed and showed the owners that we are together, the CBA negotiation would be a cakewalk. The owners know the players won't stand together on anything. I agree with him on that though. Well, on the fact that the players not sticking together last time. Yeah,

so I agree with him on that one. I don't know about that Colin having anything but anything else done for sure? Well, I think he said that that's the one chance that they had to stay stand together. Okay, here's here's one of the things that if I were a player, I would simply ask, why do you want to do a ten year deal in an age where the TV contracts are going to be a ten year deal? That's true, Why would you do anything that's a decade long?

In today's world where technology and things change within two and three years. I mean, just think about your phone. How many times you have to update your phone now because they come up with new things, right, So, so I mean the world in ten years, because he's just gonna change a whole lot. Yeah, I mean think about what was done in twenty ten, the world in twenty ten, and now the world in twenty twenty. We were in

Valley Ran. This is crazy, okay, right, what was it one year of the first year of Jerry World and now it's all year ten. I mean so, I mean thinking about the Rangers are about to open up a new new ballpark eventually. Yeah, but you know next month when when they started? So, I mean ten y, that's a long time. Ten years ago the Mavericks one NBA championship. It was ten years ago. Derek was in the top

five player in the league. Yeah, ten years ago. Years ago, you know fast, I mean really think about where were you ten years ago? That's true, you didn't have kids ten years ago. Surgery, so seven surgeries later. So that was to me just just my mind automatically. He said, why would you enter a ten year deal? Well, you know who's running the union, Demorris Smith. So's the it's the it's the old wave, like it's always been the team for decades and we don't know why we still

That's another story though. So anyway, that's gonna be interested to see if this thing passes. Um. I think about all the time of a guy like Kyler Murray, who is an exciting quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals. He was a first round draft pick of the Oakland A's and signed a deal with the Eggs. Then he decided, you know what, I want to play football, so ends up going to the combine, becomes a first round draft pick, has to give all the money back to baseball. And

you start talking about retirement. How about this, And I don't know if you guys knew this or not, but if you play ten years in Major League Baseball when you retire, you get three hundred thousand dollars every year ever for the rest of your life. Yeah, that's how strong that union is. And we over here? How at you said? So you got sever We over here, scraper man, I'll tell you what I wish you'd be something like it once you're vested. Yea, at least healthcare. You know

what I mean? It's a match match. If you play ten years, how we get are underrating? I just don't understand how we live. We let the slide, Well, you understand the next when's the next vote for the head of the union? Like yeah, he just he's pencilan always doesn't matter if you if you agree to a ten year deal, Okay, I mean who are you gonna hire. It's gonna be a job for ten years. I mean the Morris Smith has been there. But I mean just at the end of the day, and you can hi

and this is this is just my opinion. You can hire whoever you want to. But until the players decide there's going to be a sacrifice made, you're gonna get what you want. Absolutely, and that is and that's not just that's anything, you know, not just I'm talking about football, it's really anything. Until you're ready to sacrifice something, if you want to give any blood, you want to give something,

you ever get anything. It's all happen when they went on strike, did the player the players call us to lie first? Right? They went back? They went back, right, that's the replacements, Yeah, they went back. So yeah, I mean until you mean, if you're the product, until you miss games, then things don't happen. I mean, it's just like when you see other unions in different career fields when they go on strike. If when you're not producing something that's want and then all of a sudden things

can change, changing your way. Okay, what about the Montgomery bus boycotts, that that Rosa parks from Martin Luther King. Until people stopped going on black people in Montgomery, allt's hoop going on the bus and they weren't making any money. Okay, well then things change. You have to be willing to give up something and anything it is, yeah, that you truly want. And so that's been a big thing about it.

I've always looked at the NFL players. He said, Look, you've not been willing to do what baseball players have done. Just okay, we'll withhold services. That's true. And guess what these owners know? It holy they know if it's owners. The four hundred pages said, read this, sign it. We're good. We're good, so ready to like, Yeah, I think we got some Yes, we get to we get to hit their herbs a little more. We're let's sign it and say, honey, Kate say sign up. All right. So that's our CBA talk.

Let's next, let's dive into the issue the Cowboys have right now. This franchise deadline has been moved is coming up now, uh rain Dakota Prescott unsigned, Amari Cooper unsigned. We'll get signed first. And also I'll tell you. I want to read a couple of Twitter things and people said to me by Dak's country into my Twitter timeline

It's n E Y Scruggs Facebook page in his NEWI scrug Sports. All right, Cowboys want Mary

Cooper the wide receiver back. They want Dak Prescott the quarterback. If the CBA passes, that means the Cowboys can't tag both guys, which means they only have one franchise tag, which means if they don't get a deal done with one of them, somebody's going to hit the free agent market. And we all know when you have prime players who hit the free agent market, there's gonna be somebody out there willing to write a big fat check. Big Okay,

it's just how free agency works. And you're gonna sit up here and saying, oh, they pay that guy that much. You're gonna say, yeah, they pay that guy that much because they had that money and they were desperate, and so hey, that's how free agency work. There are some people out here who have issues with Dak Prescott and Freddie d D. Freddie D entered my Twitter timeline and

I'm just sitting here, um speaking the timelines. Tell me, was this before after the forty on the year came out, it was like four year, one hundred and sixty million. Freddie was upset about the thirty three million dollars. Okay, he'say, that's too low, he says too much. He should Dak should jump at but yeah, my bad day. Yeah, so so Freddie Freddie here, Um, it's saying that Dak is at eight and eight consistently going eight night the Cowboys.

He didn't go to two divisions anyway. His name right, Roddy D was going on Freddie D. He said, bro, he said, bro. Jimmy G has already had more playoff victories already in playing and played his Super Bowls, and Cousins has the Vikings as a threatened the AFC, we're lucky to go eight and eight. I hit him back. I said, well, Jimmy G became the highest paid quarterback

in the NFL off seven football games. And I said, miss me with the Dak hasn't done craps the Cousins got eighty four million dollars, didn't had the resume and success that Dak has had. Um Freddie is real league talking about how you know you can't give one hundred and twenty million dollars to Dak Prescott. He says that is he said, that would be foolish, and I'm like, well, Cousins doesn't play in an AFCO. Jimmy g completed eleven passes versus Minnesota and the forty nine ers playoff, winning

just six passes in the NFC title game. And he was not the reason that San Francisco got to the Super Bowl and lost. He was one of the reasons. He's one of the reasons why they lost for sure, for sure. And he said, and the Cowboys got eight wins. They got were against teams with losing records. Let's give Dak one hundred twenty million dollars. Seriously, says Cash. Dak, come on, man, And I hit him back, and I said, you know, Dak is forty and twenty four in the

regular season, says twenty sixteen. Only Tom Brady has more wins forty seven, said Dallas has had one eight and eight season. You said the word consistent and It only happened once, said Freddy. A hot takes needs work. Yeah, them boys luke warm? Right now, Then on the whole, Derek, the whole, the whole hundred and twenty million dollars, you know, I said, Look, the Raiders gave Derek Carr five years, one hundred twenty five million dollars. I said, Dak is

a better player. I said, Freddie, you have to learn how the quarterback contracts work. Baby. At minimum, the Cowboys will have to pay Dak thirty three million dollars twenty twenty because that is what that franchise tag is going to be. I said, you and those hot takes. Now, look if you look at what it would cost the Cowboys the franchise Dak Prescott over the next two years, it's gonna average out about thirty five million dollars thirty five point five. So why would you tell? Why would

you as okay to me? And so that's that's the part that we see on social media as so many fans are mad at Dak Prescott because it was it was reported by cald Watkins in the Morning News that he turned out an average of thirty three million dollars a year and fans are thinking, well, why do you turn out thirty three million a year? And because you're too short that's why, because you're too short per year. But I go back, this is this takes me back

to Tank Lawrence when people were mad at Tank last year. Well, the cowboys are they're gonna give you eighteen franchise tag away more than that, you're you're I'm sorry, guys are going to look at if you tag me for two years, what is the average that going to be? We need to start here. That's what these agents are doing. Yes,

and it makes sense, and fans don't get it. So fans want to think that the players are the greediest son of the guns out there when you're just realizing that if you're the player, even though you would prefer the security, if you can't get that, then you might as well play it out as well. You might as well play it out look at because the teams, if they're smart, won't franchise a guy two years in a row. It doesn't help. It's it's it's a detriment. If you're

trying to run your team inside, it's a detriment. But these fans don't get it, and so they're so mad at the player, and the day I laugh when I just hear some of the stuff that's said about him, and sobody, that's your question. Do you think the organizations put these numbers out there to kind of paint the player as being like this greedy guy so the fans will kind of get on them, and then next thing

you know, he's like he buckles under the pressure. It's like, oh, I just want to be good for the fans, that's what beause you don't see the agency, they say, and they just like disgusted with the fact that they were off from something else. Agen he's putting them. I just wonder if that's you know, I'm asking who put one sixty? Yeah, that's why. Yeah, who put that out? Who put the foe for one sixty? I don't know, I don't know. Uh, Look, it looks like a lot. The first it looks like

a lot. So you got people mad about Dak turning down thirty three, and then you get the here's what we should do crap. So what one of my friend brother said, we should let Dad go, Man go to Carolina, trade for Cam Newton, Man, let Cooper walk and resigned Dez Bryant who said this he was he was at a bar, like he had to be at a bar. He had been up for a couple of probably a couple of shots. There's no way that he really he was trying to respond. No, this this was his seal,

and I said, okay, getting pumped, no disrespect. We think there's could be a number one receiver with Cam Newton coming off SOLDI sharjury, his his his thing on Cam. He says Cam never had any weapons in Caroline. He comes here, he has a whole lot of weapons. And I said to him, okay, let me let me make sure straight. Greg Alsen, I said, do you realize Cam has been injured the last two seasons and his own team has not committed to him next year. That should

realize something. I said. We're talking about a quarterback whose best asset has been his legs in red zone ability, and you're talking about a guy with a shoulder trying to go on the red zone as you really have to ask yourself, are you thinking of Cam Newton fifteen and one and the Super Bowl fifty? Are you thinking of Cam Newton now? Because guys who play football, no, sooner or later, the hits up add up here, you're gonna be able to get a bounce one of those times.

We always talk about running backs having only so many hits in the body. If you're a quarterback that runs a lot, and you run like Cam Newton, you only have so many hits in that body. And the question you have to ask right now is how many of those hits have taken Cam down? Now, all those people who say Dat Prescott is not accurate, you want Cam Newton exactly exactly. You live for Cam Newton. I mean, so I laugh at this stuff. You want to bring

in a trade, okay, what you trading? By the way, you want to trade for a guy you don't know how good he's going to be, and then bring in Dez Brunt and let him Mark couple walk who the last time we saw his fair brother had had no chemistry with Dak Prescott. So if he had no chemistry with Dak Prescott, you think he was gonna have some chemistry with Cam Newton coming off with plan for two years. Both of them had to really play him some past two years. Listen, that is outrageous. This guy one from

at least was he at least keeping Byron. Was he keeping anybody did did we did we get Robert Quinn? Who? What else did we get? Did we get something else? My man? My man was really he's he's upset about Dak. So it was really a Dak centric type of Okay, I understand why he's so mad that Dak wants his money getting like he's getting the left over. Let me

let me read it exactly. Okay, I was wrong on Cooper, he says, family, I think the Dallas Cowboys should let Dak walk if he doesn't sign the current contract, trade him for Cam Newton, bring death back, get a tight end that can stretch the field, franchise Cooper, get a d line, play smash flow football, feature the old line, and Zeke, let's go to the super Bowl. He han't been watching because we haven't one. Uh did he see

the off the line? Listen, he was drinking. He had a couple of something something's going on, a couple of the old fashions and something's going on. He punking. You knew that something. It ain't no way I'm gonna get a round up some absolutely no sense. So these are some of the things that I get on Twitter and trying to explain the quarterback market to people. So I bring up Matthew Stafford. Look, Matthew Stafford. When you all want to say Dak hasn't won anything, that's you Stafford's

one nothing. Matthew Staffords has made it well over two hundred million dollars in his NFL career. It comes down to what does your franchise value you, as the Lions have valued Matthew Stafford is a franchise player who they are the centerpiece of what it is they want to do. So you can sit up here and say you don't think he's my boy. Rob park and Rob park and I go back years you see Rob Parker and thats what he does he think Staffords? He's got a losing

record against ways, He's just he's down on him. Why are you paying this guy all this month? The Lions deemed him worthy of it. Jerry Jones and Stephen Jones have come out and said they want Dak Prescott here and that he's going to get a great pay. That they've said this, So you can have your own opinions about it, but it comes down to what does the franchise one. No different than if you're sitting here and you marry a girl and your friends like, why are

you marrying her? Well, guess what, I love it. I love him. Doesn't matter if you love it. I love it. And this is what it does. Come now to how much do you love the player? That's why we keep seeing the quarterback markets reset and they have. Another guy said, well, you know what, he shouldn't get more than Big Ben. He shouldn't get more than Russell Wilson because they want super Bowls. And I said, under your premise, why is anybody making more than Tom Brady? Exactly who it's better?

The Stafford or Jimmy G. Stafford? Come on, new Stafford is head? Hold on? You said, Jimmy, Jimmy G to me, they're really kind of the same dude. How Jimmy, we just talked about Jimmy G. Completion. Jimmy, we saw him in the right Keep talking about him. That Stafford is who who's paid more staff staff them? So what so the market you know Stafford reset the Jimmy Jimmy. So

that's the market. It's right, market about who's better. And then a sense of yes, stay right there at the market is what do we know the market is going to continually do going up. So as it goes up. So the franchise tag on what Quarterbacks had three and four years ago, which they were using in terms of how you market, how you do a deal. That's why it keeps going up. So everybody jumps everybody, everybody and what I do also kind of laugh about because because

fans don't get it. If you're a player, this is what you want. You don't want people to to go below the market back. You don't get raising the bar. Tom tell you, Tom Brady, nobody here, no service of the rest of the league. Tom Brady could not be a baseball player because they the Union, Well tell Church, you bet, Church, you better go get this contract, because they tell you that Church get that contract because we

need other people to get this. I mean they when Alex Rodriguez wanted to get a deal done with the Boston Red Sox the Rangers are traded into Boston, Boston wanted him to defer some money. Alex wanted out of text it so bad he was gonna give something back and the Union was even they looked at They're like, no, you can't do it. The Union cut down a contract that a Rod and the red Sides had agreed to to restructure the contract. You can't do it like like

a baseball cut. That's they were took a football cut. They were trying to do like a football cups restructure some money here, and the players Association said no, and it blew up, so he had to come back to Texas. They eventually traded him to the New York game. But that's how that thing works over there. They're not you're not taking discounts over there. They don't want that at all.

They they frowned upon it. I remember one baseball player who felt like he was pushed into signing a deal that he necessarily didn't want to because of the union. He did it, but he wasn't really happy about it and just kind of setting his own way of you know, kind of was told I needed to do this, and a union like that is strong, you know when people looking at you cross eye. Don't want that problem. So without getting his money from TV and on a go

ahead and take a little bit off. Let's lower it a little bit, even though our TV ratings and all that's going up. El never year. If if the CBA's passed and the Cowboys only have one franchise tag and they give it to Dak Prescott. What is your worry level about Amari Cooper getting on the free agent market. None. If they franchise that, they're paying Amari whoever, what I think whoever getting tagged is getting paid. I think I think if they tagg that, I think somebody gonna outbid.

I'll bid the Boys for for Mark Cooper, and that's only. That's only. I don't think they will outbid them enough to get Let's just say the Cowboys come in at twenty and Buffalo comes in at twenty two. You think you think he's not going to Buffalo, ain't going for the actual two. He's gonna lose. He's gonna lose two in Texas, let's say four. Then let's say twenty four, and then the Boys getting Boy getting twenty point five. Ye, yeah, you got That's only that's only risk. I think it's

somebody out. But if anybody comes in within the mid like mil or two, I think he'll stay just because of the off the field opportunities here. But do you say had an issue playing outside of something in the cold on the road. Yeah, maybe, I don't know about like New Orleans, they can't do it. Who can afford the Jacksonville the Dolphins, Jacksonville, Indianapolis. It's cold, but they play indoors. That's not what they do. So that's not And that's the other thing too, is people try and

throw out this stuff. It's like, ask yourself, what does this team do? For instance, when people talk about the Patriots trade back to the Patriots, and I just shook my head, like what, that's one place that's not trying to play any pay anybody. What do we know about Dak Prescott? He's trying to get paid. Why are they going to trade you a first round pick and ally paid one cat and write a check? You know who? He is looking for a receiver and they look for

a receiver all that ship Philly and Seattle. That's true. You don't want to go play who I saw going up to Seattle on a visit. But if he can get healthy, Jordan read the tight end. If he can get healthy, you know, you see how they used their tight ends up there. He could be. He could be. He's done because done. Um here here's and I just come back to this with you. What you talked about Seattle, you got DK metcalf who really came on at the end of the last year, and he's a matchup nightmare.

We talked about the best of what Dez was DK metcalf is. Is that now? And then that got Kevin Lockett. Yeah, So if you're Seattle, would you rather spend some resources on trying to get your offensive line straight? That's true, that's a good point. That got a good solid backfield. Russell's gonna be running around that thing anyway. Anyway that you could, you could look at me, Hey, look, Cooper's

gonna cost you twenty million? Yeah, how many? How many franchise doing and Seattle hasn't traditionally tried to pay that position. If i'm then I'm keeping I'm trying to keep clowning by all means. If that's if that's what that's my that's my sake what it is. But you know, it was obviously last year that they wanted some help at

the receiver position, so they pay Cooper. You're pretty much talking about most teams that can afford a huge number to blow them away that the Cowboys can't compete with it. It's going to be some teams in their back Philli can come to him, but at the end of the day, do you want to live in Philadelphia and play outside in that cold? Is that what you want to do?

Miami guys, that what you want to do? Having played lived in Miami, played Alabama, played in Oakland, I played for the Cowboys, Yeah, I'll think you want those problems and a chemistry with the quarterback. So so those are those are the things that look at the end of the day. He may be bluffing us because he's not an easy guy to read. Can be bluff all that longest be Cuba Gooding Junior. We're playing rod Tidwells and

say hey, you show me the money. So we don't know where he goes but the Cowboys, and it's going to be interesting what you seventy two hours to try and naw a deal down with one of these true guys. That's all he got left. He's going to go where he's wanted. I don't think he's leaving here. McCarthy has expressed how much he wants to do to be here. He's expressed how much he wants to be here. Bluffed or not, I don't think it's that goes. I don't

think he's going anywhere. How are we gonna like then it goes you know, if his numbers keep getting keep rising. Let's say they tagged that and then his numbers keep rising. Does that mean Quinn's up out of here? Does that mean you know his Quinn's number is gonna be high, generally gonna be his number is low. Quick we need something ELVs, you know, because he got the Nick, he got the next thing. We talked about the next thing during the season and it's not that easy to come

back from. He had next surgery then all of a sudden, who we played with It was a first couple of years Hands Holloman. Yeah, that's dating. So it's it's interesting here. It is interesting. I would say this about someone of Amari Cooper's character make up. You have to play for someone like Nick Saban guys like that in terms of

somebody who knows what they're doing. And if somebody's going to go out here and try and lure Amari Cooper away, I think you have to have a really good head, coach, strong, strong personality, that that's a detailed guy, that that he feels comfortable with him. Now obviously he doesn't know Mike McCarthy can talk to him a little bit, but Mike McCarthy does have a resume of winning a super bo I think those things matter to someone like Amari Cooper

is winning. I mean, somebody who can vouch for him. Rabo cops here is this is true. And I'll say this and this is just me. This is me having covered this team and Jimmy Johnson who was head coach, and you know, just seeing a lot of guys through the years, I can't name anyone who Jerry Jones has come out and told you I want that. He didn't get that. That's what he's saying. We have not seen people get away. We have it when he said I want this guy, we have not seen them get away.

It's true, and it's crazy. It's twenty twenty, has been so far. I don't think that's gonna happen. Jerry's gonna get his He's gonna get who we want. So it's seventy seven years old. If you're gonna write the check, you're gonna write the check now. Might as well ain't the reason to wait. So, you know, and you hear a lot of these draft talk, draft talks, Folk Cats was, Hey, you can get Jerry, Judy or you can get CD. They talk about this rookie receivers and you guys know

being defenders. O rookie receivers have an adjustment in this league's sake time adjustment and it's unproven. You don't know what they're You know, Amari Cooper is a proven come out of the end this league. I mean, yeah, these you know, Jerry Judies at the world knows they have had great college careers, but you never know until they actually hit the NFL pavement, you know what they can be. So would you rather go with proven commodity or you

know the brand? Because he was one of those guys who came in and was all and he was one of the he was he was. It's definitely it's definitely rare to see somebody because we saw the guy Calvin Ridley, it was it took him a little while, a little and he was playing next to Julio jonesph you weren't facing double coverage exactly. The kid that we thought the Cowboys could have taken, who ended up more who ended

up going to Carolina. And last year we started to see him little j Moore, We started to see it. But but it takes you to start the Randy Moss effect where you guys just gonna come right out of as. It's hard. That's another thing fans don't get all day. It's hard to just coming to this league and just

start putting up stuff. Yeah, they watch him, they watch him in college and they're like, oh, yeah, that's an NFL product, And you're like, hey, listen them guys he playing against They getting paid big money not to get embarrassed like these college kids they were they d two schools on all every week. Yeah, or they're they're laying off, they're not pressing up here. There's so many can approve a point because they don't want to get embarrassed by no Rickie and my lifetime, I think it was Dash,

Oh they'll Beckham. I think that might have been. I mean Julio. Julio came on the scene kind of strong, right, Julio definitely been aj greenjame On Sean, that's four. I mean, I can't really name him anymore. It's just it's not a big bucket of them. Yeah, and so when you start talking about those guys, most of those guys are top fifteen, you know, the top twelve wide receivers. You know they're they're drafted very high, and the Cowboys are seventeen.

So if you wanted to get one of these quote unquote impact guys, you'd have to go up in the first round. But wide receivers. I did a thing about two years ago when I was doing a NBC Sports radio where they had six wide receivers taken in the first round. And I looked at the two drafts and each really only produced one guy that ended up doing something when they took the six. And this could be another year where they they have a lot of wide receivers potentially going to the first We can see four

guys going the first round. But it's a hard adjustment. But if you're the Cowboys and you think that you are close to a superman. Jerry Jones was talking Super Bowl last year. He was talking about this team going in the playoffs. I don't think you're going to scrap and let it Amorry Cooper get out the door over money, especially when you're gonna lose Byron Jones, I just gonna be sitting up here empty handed. We're not gonna see the guy. That's not the Cowboy way. That's not because

we have a lot of possible losses. You don't say there's a lot of people who could who could go to different teams. Yeah. So, like I said, I don't I'm not worried about Coop. I think he's still gonna be here. Uh that getting tagged and then he'll get a deal worked out some you know somewhere in the summer. Think if he's tad, do you think he shows up? But thirty three isn't thirty three million? What's the first time exclusive? I think you'll be here? Think ye for camp? Yeah?

Camp easy. He might miss the Hall of Fame game. You might miss the Hall of Fame game. And hopefully this virus is contained by that under back to back. We don't know thinking everything it's cool again, look at that. Don't fool yourself into thinking because everybody's like uh. And I heard people say, hey, man, listen, you know it's serious now because the big money people they're losing money. So the curis come in because you know, they don't

want to shut this down because everybody's losing money. I said, huh, it's gonna it's happening. Just breat yourself, be careful, washing hands, do everything they said, you're supposed to do and if you're sick, do not go around other people. Be curt curty. So since we have no sports yet, to each of you, what is a show somebody can binge on to watch?

Go ahead, you can take that, man. I just finish The Outsider last night, which was was pretty dope, Like Steven Stephen King, Uh, that was a good TV show. I'm doing locking key you started locking Stuf started telling you if you go on Netflix, Uh, you can probably been watching being watched anything Netflix. It's been on Fire, Amazon Prime as well. The Hunters. The Hunters, if you haven't watched that. Alpaccino I was one of the Jordan Pill was the director. I believe it's a ten. The Hunters,

It's it's amazing show. Jordan Pill directed it. Um, it's about you know this, this group of Jews who survived or survived the Holocaust years ago and they're hunting down Nazis that came to America. It's it's it's a pretty cool. It's a dope show. It's a dope show. Like Danny said, The Outsider was pretty cool. I watched the whole thing. Um. Stephen King, he all he never disappoints, especially when it comes to his books. So those are two shows I

would definitely recommend. I went and binged watched season four The Wire. He went back on year and then because I had watched season four, which I thought was the best of the Wire, and I got connected in the seas about like, oh yeah, how does it know? Wait

what happens with Marlowe Stansfield? So you know, I went back and just and then all these gifts like when you look you go and you look at the gifts from the Wire, we seely bunked those like that or a bunch of shakes his head and he walked away from McNulty. You can't, oh yeah, that's that right. So I found myself watching twenty four episodes of The Wire, um over ten days. News you're supposed to be watching Sopranos were okay, okay. So what I did what I

did on my my HBO account. I put it in there. You know, you can, you know, save it, you check. So I checked and checked it and then I just went down and I saw I saw The Wire, and then I just you already know what happened to Marrow. He watched it. He probably watched it. I'm like, I hope Stringer makes a different decision choose. You know some of the things I forgot. I was like, oh, yeah, they got a little Randy, didn't it. You know Randy? You know the name? It never did cut that here,

So I mean it was with car Katty. So there's a couple of things and I forgot. I forgot my man how. I forgot how my man, Clay Davis ended up getting off. Let me the one thing about the Wire that I wish it happened differently, because I wanted to see this battle between Old Bar and Marlow. I'll say this. I forgot how oldmar got kiss. I forgot the man jumped out a six foot window, I mean sixth story window and survived and he's soldiered it through. So how he did that, and then how he got

gotten in which he had. The thing that I love about The Wire I told you I think it's the best cop show ever, is you truly didn't know how things would end and then when things would end a certain Oh not really, because he got it was broke. I was waiting it was built up, and I was like, ohmar like, hey, hey, he got a plan you know he gonna figure this out. You thought I was gonna get away, man, you like you know, I thought Omar

was gonna make it. You're gonna see the battle between him and him and Marlow, because you know, Marlow not backing down for nobody. And he was like, all right, what is due that? And then Oldmarch is looking for him. So you know, you see he got the whistle going and all that, and how clean at the end, How clean mar guy got that rewatchability? Man. So I'm just saying, I know you guys have given me shows to watch.

I got. I got called because it was well, and I'll say this, it was a guy over the TV station who started watching The Wire because of his brother, and so I was like, well, you got to get the season four ward the kids said the one with the kids was the best one. I love that one. So that then, so talking to him talked me into oh yeah, let me just so. And then he wanted to discuss it and talk about it. So I was watching We're having discussed So are you going to watch

the Sopranos because we will see you next Friday. I've got I've got, I've got it written down and it's in might cue. This is true, this is true. I need to go ahead and dive into it. Hey fellas fun time as always. So the next time we do a show, we'll see it's Cooper sign dak Son, who's got a tag? Who is there a CBA? A lot of things we'll find out in the next edition of the Players, like she's Danny mccraige, Sperry Church. We appreciate you joining us right here on Dallas Cowboys dot Com. Rady.
