rule out Randy possibly going on injured reserve. Sounds like a Michael Gallup situation to me, So you're hopeful it can be a Dak situation where Dak miss was doing, you know, had the bye week and then missed the game then came back or Gallup who down week one. We haven't seen him yet to but hopefully he plays on Sunday. So, gentlemen, no Randy Gregory, what's your initial thoughts?

Danny ah Man, that's tough man. My top ten is just like it's so many, so many things trying to knock us down from being that elite defense that I want us to be. And I was really looking forward to having you know him out there since we don't have Tank and then hopefully now they both come back at the same time because tanks twenty one day window hadn't started yet. I imagine that Randy Gregory's calf injury will be a lot different from Dacks because they play

a totally different position. Yeah, where is having to push off on that to try to get that get off and get around those tackles. So it's it's rough for us, man, it's rough for us. And you know, the thing is he's hurt. And the biggest glaring thing that we saw, you know, last week, was the edges. The edges are under attacking the run game, and uh, it sucks. It sucks, man, it sucks. But hopefully he comes back soon and he come back comes back healthy because we're gonna need him

to get where we want to go. Our defense has to play a lot better. Got to be able to defend the run and get some pressure on the on the passer, and he's been able to do those things up to this point. So it's gonna be it's gonna be a big, big shoes to feel for whoever stepping in for Randy Gregory spot. Yeah, I'm not gonna lie. Man. This makes me nervous a little bit. It makes me a little nervous because we saw what happened last week. When we don't get pressure on a quarterback, how they

can pick apart this defense. I mean, look at what Bridgewater did, and he was throwing the ball. You know, Tim Patrick was out there, Sutton was out there. Judy had just came out for ir But it's nothing that you know, no world beaters. It's not like their trio was better than ours. But when you have time in the National Football League, I don't care who you got, you can have prime time in the secondary. If, if, if that quarterback has enough time, he's gonna find the

open person. And what do we know from this defense from Randy Gregory is he's been the only one really that's been applying pressure on the on the opposing quarterback. I mean, you got Diggi Zoa in there a couple of times last week. But like I was telling Newie, he's no Jeffrey Simmons. He's no, Aaron Donald, He's not going to consistently be able to push the pocket like that. And Randy Gregory was the guy basically one of the like we talked about earlier in the season with blue

chip prospects. He's the blue chip defender that we have out there. And when you when you're minus a guy like that, it's gonna be hard to kind of get pressure on these guys. And I know Matt Ryan is not you know, the MVP Matt Ryan of old or anything like that, but he can still throw the pill. And they got some mismatched nightmares out there with Kyle Pitts. They got Cordarol Patterson out there, who lay line him

up anywhere. And you know, so he comes in at the running back, he's the slot wherever the case may be. But if you give a guy like that time, I don't care who you said, Like I said earlier, I don't care who you got back there, he's gonna be able to pick you apart. And with no Randy Gregory out there, if you decide to put part since at the defensive end to try to generate some pass rush that takes away from the lineback of court and who

we're gonna have watching cordell Or out the backfield. Who we're gonna have dropping his zones because we know Parsons has been able to do that. He's been stopping the run. Who's gonna stop? Then put Bandarresh in there. We don't have a Jabril Cox. Who's covering Kyle Pits? And who's covering Kyle Pits? I mean you could, you could put Curse on there, but I mean I don't know. Then you're taking another guy out of the secondary. So this

this right here's a tough loss for the cowbum. You'll be smart to put Trayvon Diggs on Kyle Pits whenever you can. You need to put your best corner guy on Kyle Pits. Whenever you have the opportunity. They put him outside. Sometimes they put him in the slot. They've lined Kyle Pits up black a receiver in a lot of situations. So whenever you have that opportunity, I will put my best covered corner on him. Because Matt Ryan is gonna throw the ball the cow Pits. I got

him on a fantasy team. He gets target. Then you also got let's just say they put him in the slot and you got a George Lewis out there. Then they got Hayton Hurst righting the wings, and I mean, if we put Parsons at the d ND, then we're gonna ask one of them line backers to guard Hayton Hurst as well. I mean, it's it's some problems, especially when you got a team that's not rushing or getting after the quarterback as good as we thought they would

be able to. The previous podcast, Hanging with the Boys has Nate Newton, three times Super Bowl champion, and Nate spent the whole podcast talking about how he was not worried about the Atlanta Falcons and the Cowboys are going to just roll out here, just go get a w And I'm just looking at their four and four football team. They are three and one away from Atlanti, so they've got the bulk of their wins on the road. The

first two games they were blown out. Okay, so you just look at the first two and you're like, you know, nothing to ride home about. But then after that their games have been close. They beat the Giants in Week three seventeen fourteen. They lost on final drive at home against Washington, so they lose thirty four thirty. They go up to Actually, then they got another home game. They face the Gents, they won that twenty seven to twenty. They go to Miami and win that one thirty to

twenty eight. Another comeback victory. They hosted the Carolina Panthers, lost in the fourth quarter on that one nineteen thirteen. Then last week they go to New Orleans and they win twenty seven twenty five. And I bring up these these scores to just let you know they're gonna be in the game. Now, this is a team that's gonna

fight you. So the the old booms, you know, we're rubber stamp Ford w kind of the way we were thinking last week with Denver, don't do not think that, not with a guy like Randy Gregory going to be gun And Mike McCarthy said, tune in at noon, come on at noon, come on down and see the show, because when you'll know how they're going to utilize Michael Parsons, whether they go into the Week two against the Chargers when Gregory was out with COVID and they put Parsons

at the defensive end he was so impactful, or whether they decided to le leavehim the linebacker spot. It's a little bottom of the league in point score. I'm just listening to those scores, and it sounds like they're not putting up that many points. These past a couple of weeks. They've been rolling a little bit because they were up like twenty four to six against the Saints and the Saints came back, so offensively, they're starting to roll a

little bit. I mean, look from you're correct, Okay, you know, this isn't the old Mattie Ice when they had you know, when they had Julio So but the bottom line is they're in football. So I just said, if our offense comes to play, I always say, oh yeah, you're gonna need to score thirty to beat our off You should have to Yeah, right, if we're clicking and we're playing the way, then you should have to score thirty to beat us, which bows will for us because

their office is and score many points. But if our defense shows up how they showed up last week, then you can count thirty. It might be a shootout because defensively they're you know, they're they're towards the bottom of

the barrel. I mean, they got a couple of pieces here and there, but um, offensively, we should be able and I said it last week, but we should be able to go ahead and put up the scores on him, and it might be a shootout because, like I said, if you don't get pressure on Mattie Ice, he might not be the guy from you know, a couple of years ago, but he could still slang that pill. So offensively, we gotta show up. Don't let Kyle Pitts come out. Hedn't have a day on us man, because I was

one hundred twenty six yards. So who that's the thing that makes me there? One. Gregory's not in there, so we're gonna be able to rush the passer as good as we were in the past. But who's gonna cover

up Cordell? You know, because they what they're gonna do is they're gonna come out here and it may look like it's twelve personnel, but if you motion him out to to become a slot or wide receiver, which he was drafted first round to do, then it comes into O two and you're basically spreading out that base prackage that we have. So are we gonna I mean, or we canna rely on a nickel package as our base defense. But then he got the strength of running between the tackles. Yeah,

I mean, he makes it. He makes it a tough situation. Stop the run. Okay, listen, stop stop the run because like you said, he can do both right. So he's lined up in there, you have no idea if it's gonna be a run it's no till, but gonna say, all right, cadarrels in there, you know, as as the back. So now we gotta figure out if he's gonna run

option routes whatever. No, he can also runber between the tackles, run the power, run the counter, and then he can also line up out their receiver, be a gadget guy, or run real routes. I mean, he can do all of it. So I don't want to call him an X factor, but he's one of those guys who's all over the place and he's going to leave an impact on the game. We just need to figure out the way to counter that. Who's there, who's the backup running back or the running back? It is Mike d Mike

Dad from Carolina. So last week they ran the ball just twenty five times in average one point four yards against the Saints. So it's twenty five rushers for thirty four yards against the Saints. David's had nine carriages for thirteen yards. Cordial Path Atterson had nine carries for ten yards, Matt Ryan five for eight, Philippi Franks had two for three. So Ryan and Franks at the quarterbacks there, so they had an ineffective running game against the Saints last week.

This was all about just throwing the football. Patterson had six targets in the passing game, Russell Gage had eight, Kyle Pitts had seven, Hayton Hersu he brought up before, he had three, but thirty targets and twenty three catches by by the Falcons for three hundred forty three yards against the Saints last week. And New Orleans said they came back, scored twenty two points in the fourth quarter and that was how that got to be a twenty seven,

You see people arguing and trying to decipher what happened and and
