was interesting news today at the Cowboys press conference. It's Wednesday, so this is when they were putting in any install getting ready to um get the game plan for the Minnesota Vikings, and we'll see how that all goes there. Um. They are going to begin the week, which is Wednesday, practice with Terrence Steele at right tackle not lell College. He's able to practice with the team for the first

time since Week one. Coach Mike McCarthy says Collins has position flex so he will work at tackle and at guard. And we talked about this, he and Mike saying, quote, I just want to see him get back into rhythm. M all right started, Church started, I don't know. I mean, we talked about this a couple of weeks back, you know, and we were talking about best five. Should you put your best five out there, or would you just put Collins back in there and make steal the swing guy

on both sides? And uh, you know, I you know, I thought, you know, for sure, we should just put the best five out there, especially since Collins had played the guard position in the in the league as well, you know, his earlier years he was in that guard

position and then they moved him out to tackle. But do you see this as like as as kind of a slight like you know, like, hey, you know, we got to make sure you're good enough to get out to that right tackle position because at the guard you got a lot of help on both sides, and that tackle position you're on the island. So as he's saying like he's not ready, or is it Steel has just played that good that he supplanted my guy Collins at the right tackle. But I don't know, I don't know.

I listen, I'm all for consistency, and then you know, still stepped in and then what he needed to do. But I'm not really understanding why you wouldn't put your fifty million dollars man back in his natural position unless you've been watching what we watched in Vita VEA and Hargraves and the rest of these guys running through the left side of our line, specifically that center center guard position.

So maybe that's what they're seeing. That's in then opportunity to get a get a good player there and shore up that offensive line. So so so maybe they know a little bit more than we do. Does it come down to this? Is it? You know, is a combination of Collins and still better than a Collins And who's at my governor or Williams in there? So that is it come down to that? It's Wednesday. It's possible, yeah, this Wednesday. But the juices are flowing part of me

lose the spot. I think they're gonna put go to Jayleen Smith route and say, hey, man, we're gonna let you play into this spot and if you you can continue your success and then we'll let you keep it and if you don't, we got somebody right behind you. But I really think that they've seen that glaring weakness on the left side of our offensive line, and I think they see an opportunity for them to fix that. And I think lay ellis is that guy, your fifty

million dollar guy is gonna play. So you think it's more of the weakness and at that point in the offensive line rather than Terren Steele's skill and ability these past five games. Now, I think it's both. I think it's a mix. I think the fact that Terren Steell is able to hold up on that side and then also the weakness on the left side. So Todd Archer of ESPN Dot COM's cover team for a long time. He says Terrence still will start at right tackle Sunday

versus Minnesota, even with Collins back from suspension. According to Mike McCarthy, Collins will also work at guard during the week, so Cowboys could be setting up the best five offensive line scenario. Now. Collins, by the way, is not played Garson's twenty sixteen the second season that's Dak and seeks rookie year. Yeah, it's been a minute, But do you think it would be harder for him to, you know, transition to guard. I don't think. I mean, I don't know.

I never played the position, but you got help on both sides, you know, tackle you kind of out there, y'all Island. I think I think he'd be h I think he'll be eye of the guard, especially if we were if we're going downhill, were running the ball going downhill. I think, you know, he can use his power downhill. You know, I think he'd be ey. He gonna be ain't gonna ain't gonna be his bad. He can't be as bad as what we got going on right now.

I mean, I hope he worked on his anchor because because he's gonna see some bullrush because because of what those guys in front of him have allowed to happen, they're coming at that left guard spot. So hopefully he got his anchor ready. Clarence Hill start telegram says, it's no longer about LEL Collins taking the right tackle job back from Terrence Steel. It's about College replacing Carter Williams left guard. So he's agreeing with Daniel on that one.

But do you really want Collins on an island against Daniel Hunter? You know, first game back? Okay, let's obviously obviously we're seeing where this is going, right, but look, look in terms of we spoke about this on the players lounge, you know when this happened and still started playing well after the season. What's your boy, salary cap guy, what's his name? Adam Adam Adam? Yeah, Adam Adam Adam.

Take take Collins and two sisters. Ain't sitting there with a poeboy some gumbo and just say hey, what can we work out here? Hey, hey, hey, I don't know. Listen if if he if he if he if? They moved him to guard and then their best five puts them at having one of the best offensive lines in the league and you see a dramatic improvement. I think he's fine. I don't think Adam's calling him his office. They're going to play him at at left guard. They got him on a discount already. Anyways. What if he

doesn't want to play guard? Oh he goes, where's the money at? You know, if you want to nut be at tackle. But I don't know if he got that. He I don't know if he can, you know, push those type of buttons now. I mean, you gave up five games, my boy. He looks like he wally pipped him. What if he says, I want to be traded if I'm not playing ta he got hey? If he if he's pulling them type of man, I don't know if he got that. I don't know if he got nothing.

I don't know. He ain't gonna nowhere, man, he's he's, he's, he ain't gonna know where hes gonna take his fit. Hes gonna play guard, specially if he playing well. If somebody's gonna convince him that he'll be a Pro Bowl player and he'll be all right. But I don't see it happening. Can we say this right now? Hand clap to Terence Steel. Yeah, that you've gone from Hey, maybe he could be the swing tackle you battling with Tie and Seki too. Now you are

the starting right guard for the Dallas Cowboys. And it's a good problem to have for the Dallas Cowboys. I mean, if you're comst go ahead. The most unfortunate part about this is we're gonna get a man as Flowers and Neil Hunter gonna go out there. There we go on Monday. So I'm gonna say it's the unfortunate part is if you're Connor Williams, you now know they're looking at you like yeah week link. Yeah, that's basically what they're doing

right now. He got to be he got to be taking it as man, that's what it go to be. Looking be honest, what I mean, he's definitely looking at it that way though, So so there you go. I mean, by the way, Cornor Williams is a free agent at the end of the year. Just looking at this right now, Okay, October twenty six can change. Okay, a lot of football to be played. But after the season, there are some very interesting questions about how they go about this roster

because Collins. If you let Collins go. Last I checked, it was fourteen million dollars dead cat money. If you let Collins walk. If you let Collins walk, and I'll say this, they be fools to cut le Collins in a league people are desperate for tackles. Yeah, yeah, I mean you gotta at least get something. Collins could play left tackle for a whole lot of teams in this league. So I would agree with you cutting him. To me,

it's not even something I would be thinking about. If I'm the Cowboys, you put them on the trade market first, or you sit around here. Cut him. It's two he's two valuable if you don't get any trade. If you don't get any trade, ba I mean you could put him at at the guard position and we still have an extremely solid offensive line. I mean, you think Philadelphia couldn't use Patrick Mahomes. I mean a lot of Danny

Dodge Love walked through the building. So so this is going to be depending on how this schools be very interesting. But look, love College could easily go in to Mike McCarthy after the season if he's playing guard and say, you know what if I'm not gonna play tackle and then move me along. That could that could happen? Could

they could? Could? I know he loves living here, might say, but but this, you know, I just want to help the tell you okay, So let's take it this way, Barry, you played in this league and he played in this league. How how does ego play when a situation like this happens of replacement during the season. See, to me, I don't think because he's getting It's not like he's making pennies on the damn out here. This guy is making

a lot of money. So to me, if it was me out there and they were like, you gotta move to this guard or you're not going anywhere, we're getting ready, I'm moving to the guard. I'm saying that I can still make a huge impact on this team. It's not like I'm not starting anymore so or you know, they benched me or something like that. I'm still contributing to this team. So to me, I just move in with it with no questions. As if that's if that's what they wanted me to do. The mac ye're not not here.

Not here. I'm gonna say, he goes gonna play a lot into it. If if he feels slighted, right, if it's not presented to him the correct way, then you know, he's probably gonna feel like he wants to get out of here. He's gonna feel under value, like like he has no say so in his career. But if you have some guys to go in there and position to correctly let them know that, hey man, this is this

is actually your fault. Okay, this never would have happened had you not gotten into trouble a miss those five games. And we think that you can be a better player at guard, and we're gonna make sure we put you

in the best position to maximize your potential. Um. I think if you presented to him correctly, then I think that he'll he'll be able to take it, you know, a little, a little easier than he would if you if you just say, hey man, he outplayed you, and uh, we're just gonna put you wherever wherever we can because we're not letting you go, Yeah, letting you go. You stuck. You stuck here. Yeah, they put it to you that way you got. You gotta kind of take it as

a slight hold on. Man, I am a pro Bowl player, so but oh he hasn't. No, he wasn't. College has never made the problem. I thought he made it that sixteen years he's on his way. He was. But you know, like I said, this, this is all his fault. It's true, boy, Danny. Danny's so harsh when he says, and true, your fault. It's your vault. It's true, it's true. But you hate to see. Hey, man, do the do the right thing, all right, do the right thing, man, do the right thing.

Do your artists do the right thing. And when you fail that, you just gotta suffer those consequences that that's just how it happened. I'll say this because I like I like Elsie, I mean Elsie, you know, fun guy like Elsie a lot. But I can't imagine the sleepless nights he's had having to watch this go down for five games, watching your team thrive for five games, and then also knowing you had two you could have just had the two and then just you know, been on

your way. But you did what you did. Allegedly. And now you're in this spot where said they're talking about you playing left left guard. That guys, I'll say this because I played offensive line man high school pro. I preface this correctly. But even in high school, there is a difference from how your feet and how you position going back from the left and right side. Man, there's

a difference. And and so I just throw that out there to just simply say, hey, look, man, um, it's a difference to go from right tackle to left guard. I think he has the athleticism to be able to do it. He can do it because he's a he's a he. This is this is a good football player. Okay, I can't say that enough. It's a good football player. That's what I say. You can't cuting this guy because you could train him for something because he's a good

football player. But just from that standpoint of of how you know what you're looking for, it said, it's just two different sides, two different jobs. And look, you're gonna be working with an all decade player and and and big te tired smith. So you know you go from working with great players on both sides. But it is, it is, it's it's an adjustment, and he's gonna get

the best teams. You know, play that interior player. He's gonna get it every time, just until they see, Okay, this guy can be solid at the guard, so he's gonna get that rush like you said, that bull rush I expected in Minnesota. If he's there, I ain't gonna lie to you. Knew he. I thought she was about to say, Man, I played, I played offensive line. I actually walked on the temper. That's the jersey I had

on the on the week. I thought she was about to give number sixteen, number sixteen on the on the D line had to be nice left guard. The abuse take on this show. Sometimes it's wrong. The Washington Post has Green Bay still at number one, Tampa Bay two, Arizona three, the Rams four, Tennessee five, the Cowboys six. ESPN dot Com has Arizona one, Tampa Bay two, the Rams at three, Green Bay four, Buffalo five, Dallas six. They need to put me on there. That's why. Why Why is Green Bay better than us? And why us better than the Dallas Cowboys. These are great questions.

And one of the things that I don't understand when I just look at so ESPN, for instance, they've got Tampa Bay two in LA number three LAB Tampa Bay. So make that one makes some sense. The same thing. Washington Post has Tampa two, they got the Rams at four, and then they got Arizona three. I don't I don't understand. Make it makes sense. Goslin has it where the Rams are two in Tampa Bay three because the Rams beat them. Um even NBC's Pro Football Talk Tampa two LA three.

What is how does it mean? You're telling me it means nothing that they played head to head and the Rams beat them. They're just going to buy style points because I don't know both teams have Yeah, don't make sense. I don't get it. Who had green Bay at one? The Washington Post they've had green They had green Bay one last week. So they're they are they are all about green Bay. If you look and see like green Bay's defense is not up to park, there's no way

they're gonna win a shootout with anybody. Okay, now they're not even scoring points like that. That's what I'm saying. And then we go to I mean them, I mean, the only one that's that to me is solid that I think across the board that everybody had a number one was Arizona, I believe, except for that one green Bay one. But Arizona to me, I mean, they've beaten tough opponents. They're undefeated, They've answered the question. Yes, the offense is explosive, defense is kind of the same bend

but don't break. But they take the ball away similar to the Cowboys. So I can see them being number one. But to me, Dallas gotta be number two. Tomorrow we're going to see Arizona green Bay don't work out that happens there. But I don't know, can't we because if if Green Bays without DeVante Adams Lazard, do we still see that as like a you know, but these are issues. These are I ain't gonna count that. Okay, you can say you won't count it, but these are issues that

all year long everyone knew teams would face. True. I mean that's true, everyone knew teams are facing. Now I'll say this, yep, do you not count Arizona's win when they won without their head coach, Cliff Kingsbury. They drilled Cleveland. You're counting that, right? So no, no, Butlers, I count. And these are his two top well, if you if you exclude Jones out of the next running back, these are his two top targets out there. I mean, if he's without those guys,

So I mean, if he's that great, if he's you know, if he's the goat like that, he might be able to put us one out. But I'm not gonna count against him if he takes the l It's interesting. So I bring

up the power ranking. There shouldn't be number one on two though each week, and I shake my head at how the Cowboys are six in three of the four that I listed, and to put Tennessee ahead of the Cowboys their prisoner of the moment. They're watching that last game when they beat Buffalo, they're just like, oh, the Tennessee must be and they beat Kansas. I mean there's no way, I mean really really, I mean, because if you shut down, if you shut down Henry, I mean,

I just don't believe tanneh Hill. I mean, he had a good game in this Casey, but Casey's defense is a trojanus. I don't think Tannehill can arm you to a victory. A part of me thinks there's some bias from the Washington Post the Cowboys because the Cowboys their hometown team is he but think about it. Now, you're gonna jump Tennessee over the Cowboys. You're gonna still you're gonna tell me that that's the Cowboys are six and

they're not a top five team. I find that when right now I find that a main team that barely you know, they barely lost to the to the team to the Super Bowl champs a Field, Gona Way, and they missed a couple of field to the team they have number two again, And it makes no sense. It's kind of church church. It's kind of like those people who say that Life isn't one of Eddie Murphy's top five movies. I just don't understand. It just doesn't make sense.

If if you if if you watch it, you sit down, you enjoy it, and you see it that you dissect it for what it is that you know that Life movie and you also know that the Cowboys are better than number six in any power ranking that you put together.
