No matter what happens, you won't have to put this shirt on, no matter what where I met. I tried black on black one is that one I got a black one coming out. Man, you know I'm gonna be first on the list. I need I need to put that bread. And first of all, you ain't getting nothing if you don't wear it. It's written by John Anderson and he says the Cowboys defense is overrated and the statistics he threw out there, he said they are the second they allow the second most passed yard in the National Football League, said their fourth most pass yards per play, that they're giving up six point three, says they are fifth least in pressure percentage, says the Cowboys right here are eighth most missed. They have the eighth most miss

tackles in the league. And he says they are the most penalized defense in the National And he believes rookie Matt Jones and the Patriots will be ready to handle the Cowboys, who are favored by four and a half. I would love to know what he thought about Tampa Bay's defense when they played them. How many points they put up against Tampa Bay. I think it was like seventeen.

They score all field goals against the Texas defense. What is this doing when you could go through all these stats and without context, as we say, it means absolutely nothing.

When you're up twenty points, of course you're gonna give up more play, more yards per play, right because you're playing some defense to say, hey man, we don't want them to throw the ball over the top of our head, so you can't six, you catch ten, but you're gonna run out of time before you're able to score enough points and that's how we played the previous two games before we played to play the Giants. All right. Also, when you're turning the ball over, right, I'm gonna say

you're getting some pressure. I don't care what they say talking about your Russian rear weight. All right. If somebody thought that they had to throw the ball quick because Trayvon Diggs has picked off, I want to say two or three short routes. They say three step drops. We don't need no pressure. That's a pressure win rate. The presser was on the quarterback and we gotta turn over. I don't care what to dude talking about. We gonna go out here, and you know he in trouble. He

liked he liked the Eagles. He liked the Eagles head coach Byama shirt. So we know it in his face after the game. O W. We're gonna find out this week because we know Bill belichicking these guys, they're gonna have a plan for us. Either way, they're gonna have a plan for us. We noticed Cowboys haven't won in New England since nineteen ninety six. Them boys are old and five against the Patriots going up there. We saw what happened last time they went up their inclement weather.

So you think that their offense, the offenses you've seen the Patriots run out there for the last five weeks, it's gonna really do what this dude is talking about, be overrated and not be able to turn the ball over, get get him up the field on third downs when when they kicked what six field goals against the Texas last week, I nick Folk on my team, Thank goodness to me. It's not gonna be It's not gonna be

about their offense. I think their defense it's gonna come or we're gonna go up there and their defense is gonna have something for our offense. And we know Bill Belichick what he loves to do. He loves to make you guys wonder or make teams one dimensional. And I think they're gonna load up that box against Zeke and Polott, and I think they're gonna make Dak try to win it with his arm, which he's more than capable of doing. We've seen him, We've seen almost due in Tampa Bay

is more than capable of th on it. But I think that's what's gonna be the difference. And I don't think mac Jone's gonna go out there and turn the ball over. I don't think. I think it'll be nice little dinking dunks and they're gonna be trying to control the clock, you know, have our defense on the field longer than they're used to having them out there, and

How many points on us it was a seventeen I think right, how many points they put up on the on the great Cleveland Browns defense saying so when you if he want to do comparisons, do that, go watch the film. Watch the film. You know we're gonna see it. Get off his paper, Get off the paper, watch the film and be nervous because they bill Belitak that mataint saying that that's about w e I. He

different than I felt about killing last year. I feel a lot different about the way we are playing the game as far as mixing up to run in the past, us make sure we're maximizing our deep plays off play action. I feel like we're really consistently doing this. There hasn't been a time we're like, man killing, We don't know what you're doing this week. Every week, this dude is like, oh yeah, this is who we are. We're talking about balance, find out what our offensive identity is. We have one.

We haven't had one in a while, but when we did have one, we were rolling. When nobody think about Bill Belichick, we okay, we're all right. They beat two teams, the Miami Dolphins, who the Bucks went out then just just embarrassed. And then they beat the Texas, who's playing with a third stream quarterback. All right, third stream, all hey, we're gonna see man. I still got the and the third stream still put up points. It was a close game. I took out the Cowboys winning, but I think this one's

gonna be the close one. And I don't think we're gonna get a takeaway this week. This is this is gonna be the week we're not gonna it's gonna be the week we're not making this big. our first game with DQ as the defensive coordinator. We've continued to get better, say that for sure, we definitely continue to get better. As a regress, I will say that. So I brought up the w EI article where they called the Cowboys defense overrated. I didn't know rile you up that much, man, I used to you know, I was talking about LSU. Was you never watched the Jeff Saturday on the YEA? He was like, man, that boy's high.

I think they'll cover the spread here. Play from a head. That's what they need to do.

Get a lead, run the ball, play from a head, and that's gonna put the pressure on the rookie quarterback to try to come out here and try to have to force some throws at some point in time, make some plays so the Cowboys have the lead. I think that that to me, it helps your defense and you can chew up time off the clock. We're seeing what they're doing with the run game, right. They got two running backs in the top ten in rushing between Ezekiel

Ellie and Tony Pollard. Right, now. So that to me, I think is the whole key in this football game and something that in the past, and I look at these matchups against Belichick and the Patriots, they just haven't done. They've not been able to get leads against them. I'm telling you, look play from it's gonna be tough to run the football against his Patriots team. I mean, look, Bill,

we know he's gonna stack the box. But even if these guys are huge upfront, you got Judean in there, you got a guy, you got high tiw where these Thuls are huge upfront, and we know this for a fact that they're discipline. They're not gonna be out there trying to Oh, let me getting this gab, let me

peek over in that gap. These guys are gonna be disciplined out there, and they're gonna make Zeke, you know, scratching cloud for every yard which we know Zeke is capable of, He's capable of those three yards in the cloud of does moving forward, beating down the defense until submission.

But this is gonna be a tough game because, like you said, we're gonna have to get the lead early, and to do that, I think we're gonna have to run the ball, and it's gonna be tough to run the ball against the squad, I mean throwing the ball. They have a strong secondary as well. J C. Jackson's one of the best corners in the National Football League. Last year nine interceptions. This year you only got two. But he shadow when their best option, is it gonna

be Cede Lamb or is he gonna be gallup? He's gonna be shadowing. I would put him on I put him on or a Gap. Hi, I'm sorry, Cooper. I will put him on Lamb. I mean, I don't you know what wasn't that? Coop's kind of hurt right now. His ribs are kind of hurt right now. So I put the other corner on him. I put yeah, j C. Jackson on Lamb and see if he can shut him out. And then after that, you got who's your options? You got?

Said Wilson, Jarwin Shultz, And I hurt Coop. I think it's gonna be tough to move the ball against these guys, especially if the weather's gonna be bad out there. Game like the Buffalo Bills have had a couple of those games this year where you went out there and you play some of the best competition when you dominated them. This is going to be and I can't even say best competition. They two and three, but it's just the Belichick thing. But this is gonna be one of these games. You know, who gonna stop these guys? Who's gonna stop these guys? After the game, that's gonna be the question, who can stop the Cowboys on offense? How good can

this defense be? This is this would be the week when you really start asking that question, all right, because I think we're gonna go out there and we're gonna have a really really dominant performance. Now, like you said, if it's if we had one of them Shandy McCoy games whereas they running all in the snow or something, it's like a crazy to rental downpour. Yeah, we know that affects the game. But to whatever, it'll be helping

the Patriots. But if we have a game where it's whatever, sprinkle sprinkle here, a little bit cold, we're gonna go out there. We're gonna dominate this team, all right. So I'm just kind of going over here and looking at some numbers for the Patriots. When we're talking in Barry, you say you think it's gonna be I think it's will be close. I still got the Cowboys winning. Okay,

I think it's gonna be close. A challenge to run, So I just want to just just dive in here really quick and say to myself, Okay, man um, New Orleans had one hundred forty two yards rushing on the Tampa Bay. Okay, Tampa Bay is not in great running at all. They threw up, but twin, I'm getting stabbed. Like so I'm getting stabbed. Keep on going, who else? Who else? Then the quarterback going, then putting up three David's meals Thursday quarterback. Okay, So so yeah, those five games,

well you know who else was running the run? The Jets ran for one fifty two. Oh man, he belly. I thought it was better than that. They're two and three. They won two games. They slowed Houston down sixty seven yards us they even got no backs. They slowed down to sixty seven. But they gave up three three something that the man. Yeah, no, they they threw what Mills threw up three hundred, three hundred three three and they

had two. Yeah, so they decided to go ahead. So I'm just I'm just saying you about I thought it was gonna be tougher than what it was, but I number, I'm number say, looking too good right now? So what do you think now? And I still still gonna be think it's gonna be tough because this is because it's because because w E E I W I E. Whoever they came in with all these stats about us. from running the ball. I don't really, they ain't got us shot zeke is in his bag. Killer Morton, they can still they's gonna be close. My man can shadow whatever you want to. That's the great thing about Killer Moore's offense is it's not usually a one on one thing, so multiple things. You never know who it's gonna be. They got guys coming in. You ain't think what's gonna see the field out there making big Keil Brown might come out there and catch up Sam Man. I don't

do when these guys get back. Um, yeah, and he's in trouble. You've got Collins is coming your call. After the buy Collins is, you got to create a roster spot he's gonna be. So it's going to be interesting to see how they go about building this roster. But to me, Lell Collins is the better player, and you're going to put the better football player out there. Terence Still, in my opinion, has solidified himself as a Dallas cowboy with a job being a swing tackle, and that is valuable.

And if anything, if you're if you're a draft nick, you should be real happy to know this is not the priority of what they have to do. Yeah, now, after the season, there'll be some questions, you know, whether do we move on, do we how do we do that? But as far as it's coming there this season, you gotta put columns back. Let me think something. What we know about Jerry Jones, it's second, third, fourth, fifth, chances of coming all right? He is not looking any way

at Leo, like, man, this dude messed up. He was like, this shit, I'm glad you tried saying about the messed up. I'm saying about the playoff Steel and another another another guy to even think about is Josh Ball. I said, that's a fourth round edition, right right? What do they do? Um As? what could he be? Hopefully he could be what we saw out of Doug Free, fourth rounder from Ellis and Northern Illinois who eventually became a starting player for the Cowboys. So this is interesting in terms of how you start to look at this team, how you develop it, who

you keep around. And these are really good questions. And that's why we got to get Will McClay in here one day to say, hey, how do you see some of these guys, because they are definitely in this mix of just how do we balance this thing going in the next year. There's a lot of free agents on the school, a lot of guys on one years right now. Oh, with the way we're playing, it's gonna be pricey to keep some of these guys. Oh yeah, because what happens every year when you get a good team, bad teams

are gonna come and pick and choose. Boom boom, boom boom. Happened in twenty sixteen when we was real good. Everybody came and got their picks and chooses and people are gonna get paid. And a lot of those guys came here for that, the guys that are coming off injuries, the hookers the world. He came in here on a proven deal. We wanted to prove to not just the Cowboys but the rest of the league that we are able to come back from this injury and be the

players that we were before and that's why they're here. Okay, So I'm gonna ask you guys the same question I had asked Pat Downey on my Sunday night show over Channel five last week. Right now, got a long way to go, but right now, who do you use the franchise tag on? Lake Vanderesh? Brandy Gregory, Michael Gallup and he number one of the safeties you like Carter Williams, Randy, that's what out that's what out of question without a question. I mean, you get your most bang for your bucking Randy.

He affects the game a lot more than the rest of those guys. Will I mean, I know Michael Gallup, he's a hell of a player, but he's out right now. What's hurting him is this offense is still proficient with said Wilson in the game, So it's not you don't have to spend crazy bucks on a Michael Gallup to get the same type of production offensively. So for me,

you gotta go Randy Gregory right there. I mean, he affects the quarterback, he's off the edge, him and him and that tank Lawrence on the edge or him and Parsons on the edge. Those guys are fierce right now, and I think that's where you get the most bang for your buck. Oh and Lawrence Armstrong, I forgot No, it's Randy. It's Randy. Yeah, it out of everything. To piggyback on what Church said. Also what the Cowboys have invested in Randy Gregory as well. All right, they've still

by his side for a while. I don't see that going anywhere at this point. I think that um, as he continues to get his fun feet underneath them and he gets back into the rhythm of the game, he's going to prove that he's that guy, right And they're gonna look at this thing and say this, Like we said, ain't no question, we gotta find a way to have Randy Gregory on our team, teamed up with Tank Lawrence and oh also we got Michael Parsons who can rush.

When you put your package out there on third and eight, third and nine and you have a Michael Parsons and then you have Randy Gregory and Tank Lawrence, uh rushing, that's gonna be something scary for every sensible Yeah, it ain't happen. So so I agree with you. I agree. This is what I said. Now, let me just kind of throw another mix in here. What if you're able to get a deal done with Randy, did yourself him

work out a long term deal? Is there anyone of that group that I just named you would say, now, franchise that player for one year? Now, I'm still still out on it. On all the rest, all the rest of them on a one year deal, I think those I think those are positions that will McClay and and uh in ownership. They feel comfortable that they can go fine other guys around the league who will also become free agents and be looking for more proven deals, just

like they did this year. Um and they've actually been known to do that for you know since I've been here. They're gonna go find guys who looking for one year, maybe a coach like Dan Quinn or somebody coached him before, and it's like, hey, I know this guy. This guy can come in and he can give us what we need for this one year and we got an opportunity to move on. I think outside of Randy Gregory, I think that's what the rest of them. What's the friends

for receiver? Now, it's what is it nineteen. It's up there. It's it's going to be fourteen. Yeah, it flu solo. I love hell of a player, but it's just it's not the one. It's not a doesn't seem like a smart investment because, like you said, he's out and you're still rolling. I don't think our offense is is Taylor to fit around like one guy being that that top

receiver like that. Unfortunately for for receivers that play here, we got a first round there in the Ceedee lamb and then we already playing uh coup twenty and and he's muscling through it. So you know, they love that as an organization, So I don't I don't see us spending that type of money on those positions. That was a big camp topic out in California amongst the media was all right, you know what about Gallup and and there was one person here with Dallas Cowboys at Calm

who believes, hey, he's gonna get fourteen million dollars. And another person in the media we're talking, they were like, yeah, yeah, this guy's gonna get himself fourteen million dollars. And I said, that's not gonna happen, not here, talking about here, No, well, he was just saying overall, overall, whether it got it here or in somewhere else, the franchise tack that share in twenty twenty two for a wide receiver. Right now as a projections nineteen point one million transition tag is

sixteen point eight. Yeah that's still too heavy. Yeah, Coop got twenty, you got a first round of ZD getting sixteen. Are we gonna play Schultz too? I mean, I forgot you have Scholtz listen. And I was just just my thought process even back at camp, is there's not a smart economical way to bring back Michael Gallup. And at some point time, I do believe they're gonna go spend some money to add a piece up in that defensive middle. I do believe they're going to do that at some

point in time. And you got to find the right deal, the right player. But I do believe that you've been one interior D line or okay, interior D line. You definitely got to find the right player because I mean, you're spending money on that position. This guy has to be a serious, big changer. And that's what I just believe, and that that you know, obviously has to be the case. But where would you rather invest nineteen million dollars into your d line or into a wide receiver who is

going to be your number three? And the worst thing in the world happened to Michael Gallup. Yeah, hurt, you left the huddle. The guy who went in the huddle, he's showing you that he can do it. And I do believe at this point in time, Dak Prescott is at that level where if the player runs the right routes, he'll get him the football without a doubt. And it happened similar to me my twenty sixteen you know, I fractured my arm, went down for four games. Will Cost

comes in there and he's ball he's balling. They like Church, You're sure he's looking up. I'm coming back. Give me, give me, give me my SLeague, give me my club. I'm going in there playing with this club. And we finished out the Cities had a great year. But that's the things you think about as a player. You're like, man, hold on, this is my boy. But he balling right now and the defense ain't skipping a step, so you know, hey, you're looking at it like hold on, my opportunity is

starting to wind it up. To get this bag. And look, I think somebody's going to go out here and sign Michael Gallut to a contract and he's gonna be a really, really good football player. Like we're all in agreement to that this is a good football player. But you're now talking about having a limited amount of dollars because of the commitments you've already made, and you've got to start to ask yourself, Okay, are we gonna have to let go some good football players? Yeah? You are. That's what

happens when you're good. And that's how when you have talent um. You just can't afford him at the price his agent's going to walk. I mean, you can't be his agent said, hey, man, go ahead and take seven million dollars a years. You're gonna get fired. Yeah right, you can't. You can't do that. So he's gonna have to go somewhere else and get his opportunity. And how

they present it and create it be interesting. I Mean I look at a team like the Chiefs, they'd consistently like to spend money on wide receiver, and there's a guy that could could help them. I mean, he can go to a lot of places where they can use a Michael Gallum. It's just not going to be here when you start to look at what's there. And oh, by the way, you're going to have to give CD a contract eventually and eventually as well. So so this is just coming to they don't have an opportunity to

get his fifth year option and all that stuff. Yea, just that. But yeah, as you start, you know, adding up these numbers and you just simply say, here can you afford he said, I'm thinking gallup fourteen minimum fourteen. You can't afford a third wide receiver making fourteen million dollars.

It's just going to be cost prohibitive, especially when you talk about adults and Schultz and so so many, so many other spots that you've got to fill to try and get your football Why and so because eventually my man TP, Tony Pollod is gonna be up as well. What are you what are you looking at doing with what a Tony polo? When he's up? I think you gott let him walk, especially if Zeke's still rolling, because you can you can draft a guy with speed and

not saying TP. You can you can find TP anywhere, but you know his role that he's here, right now I think you can. You can find that in the draft. I wouldn't pay him personally, but I think he'll go out there and he'll get you. He'll get a midlevel contracts somewhere. But I don't think you put it you value him as far as bucks and bringing him back into this this organization, especially if if if Zeke's still rolling.

I'm with you one hundred percent, Church, I mean this, this becomes that issue of you've got commitments to other guys which you're gonna not allow you to keep good players. And a guy like Tony Pollard, if his agent is doing his job properly, is going to find him a deal that the Cowboys are just not gonna economically be able to match. Because then you got to say to yourself, how much money have we invested in the running back position? Yeah? You already in already game a man ninety, you know.

You start, yeah, and you start asking yourself, You start doing these ratios, financial ratios or return on equity of what you're putting in here, and you gonna say to yourself, you know what, I like him, but I can't like him at that number? Is he not like him? But I don't love him. Say you think he's a number one can say you realize it, says also a free agent. Yeah, I mean look at his defense, Kean O'Neil, both of our safety. I think, what is Anthony Brown? Got one

more year? Is he? I think he just signed sign of three? He signed three, so this is the second year at the three. But looking at I want to just look at who's who's going to be out there right Like, who's gonna set the market? There's some big name wide receiver. Is gonna be up in twenty twenty two, Godwin Adams, Hilton, Yeah, that markets skyrockets, AJ Green, who's older, I understand, um, Alan Robinson Chicago. I mean, there's gonna be some big guys out there that's gonna take most.

So it's not out the realm that he can now knock around getting sixteen a year. He gonna be at the bottom. All the people that, yeah, they're gonna they're gonna push the market way. He's not gonna be the top guy. Yeah, he's not gonna be the number one guy. He's gonna be on the market for a while, yes, okaya, But if he but even if he's on the market and he walks away with eleven year, twelve years, that's gonna be too much for the capitol. He's gonna win

in his deal. But yeah, we like you said, we don't. We can't. I don't think we can. I'm not the money. Now what Chris Beam has said to me, and you talk about the names that gives me hope that okay, you can get such Wilson back then yeah, yeah, I can see you getting in said Wilson bad based on those if the market is that saturated with Todd receivers, and you may be able to get yourself better deal

with Cedric Wilson. And then it comes down to really and you got this is where you guys come in here. How do you view the money in terms of no state taxes, your comfort with this offense, and your comfort with the quarterback? How did those kind of conversations go? It depends to me. See, I was chasing, I was chasing the bag. I got the I don't care where I'm going where it's giving the most. And when it

came down hood it comes down. It came to Carolina and Jacksonville, and Carolina offered more, but there was no state taxes in Jacksonville, So it kind of equaled out that way in Jacksonville actually kind of got a little bit more on there, so I was like, you know, I'm going to Jacksonville. Now overall was at the best fit? Probably not, But to me, it depends on what point in your career you're at, if you're chasing the bag

or not. And I think those guys right now they're like, hey, we gotta get it where we get it while or strike while the iron's hot. So I think it comes down to that, and those guys going into free agency, they're gonna have that's gonna be forefront of their mind. You know, who's coming up with the most money, however, gonna get to him. But I will say this, it's not always greener on the other side, all right, there's not a lot of organizations like the dollas the person

who got the bag. Let me tell you something, the bag is getting chased. I don't care what you're talking about, listen, because they ain't no guarantee what team is gonna be good, who's gonna be there, who's not gonna be hurt, who's gonna be healthy? None of that is a guarantee. What the guarantee is your bag when you sign that contract. How much money you're going to get when you sign it. Chase the bags, be smart man, especially if you on your on your first bag. Now you do two three

bags in. Yeah, I'd rather stay here, but you know, I teach his own and and they'll wrap it up with this. If it's one thing we've seen with Mike McCarthy through his coaching career in Green Bay, they they let guys go, you know, they when it came to receivers, they went to the draft. So you've got the quarterback here, you've got the running back. You got two good receivers. If they have to let Wilson gallop, I'm pretty confident they can find someone else in here who can do

some of the job. And then you got to Knowah Brown, who they've been working with for a couple of years now. So I've got confidence that Will McClay can go get that thing done. Gil Brands saying, you shake a tree and find a wide receiver in this league, and now with so many more offenses running, you know, there's more passing offenses out of college, there's a lot more receivers out there. We look at high school. These guys are doing seven on sevens. I mean in the spring, like

there's this year round football. I mean, these guys are coming in more and more developed. Look at Cole Beasley. See put y'all to this air.
