I believe that.

I believe when you talk about Day, I mean, you know him, just just like I know him. He's one of those casts that you know he's he's a leader. Man like he he's one of the best leaders I've ever been around. You know, had a chance to be his teammate his rookie season, and he really took command of that team.

When you had.

Veterans like winning, you had Dad, you had myself, guys that were veterans.

He already stepped into that leadership role.

So when Shot he says, you know, he's not really concerned about, you know, the numbers, He's just trying to get these ws.

And I truly believe that about Prescott.

I think that's the most important thing at the end of the day. I mean, it is the w you know, and it is it is a team sport. So you know, for him, I've never seen that be any way type of selfish, you know. And so and just listening to you be a former teammate and listen to you how you talk about him covering and me just seeing him all the time. Nah, man, I mean he he is definitely turned out to be everything that they thought he would.

Be and build off that.

When I talk about them, I'm saying, right now, they're gonna be Arizona. We're not going to see too bad games from Dak Prescott. And this one is on Monday Night football so on national TV. That man will not allow himself to have another game like that.

He just won't.

So I feel very confident that this is the kind of game they're going to be able to get in. I don't care about Arizona's not good and and dude, they've given the Cowboys work the past.

They played them to rise up, young man, rise up.

I mean, because you know, we all understand the defensive back you're on that that time frame. Like your receivers they run their routes, but once you get you know, for five seconds, it's just kind of impossible to cover receivers in the league these days.

I mean, they're just two good.

So they're gonna have to get pressure on this guy, and they're gonna have to force him to play from the pocket, but not only from the receiver standpoint.

They got a tight end who you.

Know, his numbers aren't crazy, but this dude is. He's a mismatched nightmare. And I'm talking about Trey McBride out there. Don't leave linebackers on this dude one on one.

Do not do that. Safety are I don't know, because.

He'sna pick your poison right now?

You get the level because he's a problem out there that can cover.

And that's the thing when you talk about the safety, I mean, I think the only one that's really healthy right now is Bell Mark. He's Bell and he's not known for his cover prowess out there, so he come flag last week.

You know you saying they that the Cowboys have to win this game, you know, not just because the Arizona Cardinals are not a good team. Like if you think of any way of trying to salvage anything at this point, you know, like like we talked about, like the games is you.

But also I'm pretty sure when you go across the league it's also that same thing.

Get a dude up in the forties and your chances of winning or is pretty hot. And Tom Brady, I mean it's really Also it's almost like pitching. You know, once you get a guy, you know, if you get a guy early in the game to throw a bunch of pitches and he's at one hundred by you know the forest or fifth inning or what I mean, you'll get pull them out the game.

Yeah, right, So once these.

Numbers go up, that means you're you're playing catch up, you're playing to the advantage of the defense. And now they just know, hey, you're not running you know the play action pass. Is it really going to be something that's effective. They're getting out of it again after that, getting after you there. But McCarthy also threw it a

Meanwhile, Denver they threw it twenty nine times a ran at twenty eight. So both teams had almost perfect symmetry here in the game.

Or eight or third down only had eight third down only had killed out these cats in the first and second down well and then also okay, and this was one thing that I really concentrated on.

Here. Look at the explosive plays all right for players, Okay, I'm.

Just going down Dobbins twenty five yard run, Harvey over his explosiveness, Harvey.

Forty yard run and that was four touchdown.

Franklin twenty six yard reception, Sutton Courtland Sutton yessing you kid, thirty nine yard reception, Ingram eleven yard reception, Brian twenty four yard reception, four touchdown. The plays are just so big, and that's where the cowboy was getting nailed on different difents. They just give up a big player after big plays. So, yeah,

It's that man, like, how dwindled this defense is right now, as far as personnel you down to, you know, one you know, safety that's available, secondary is hurt. You almost gotta play perfect. And that goes back to what I was talking about. I believe it was Monday. You can't have these these pre snot penalties.

Like that that that those controllables.

You gotta be able to tighten that up because you're not good enough as a team to overcome penalties. And we saw time and time again, especially in the red zone. You're on the one yard line, you can't get a fall start or something like that, backyard behind the all the road on I guess one of the best defenses in the league.

Without ude, you're asking to get me, you.

Know, I can't do that.

It just goes to show, you know, like there are so many different things that need to be corrected, you know, and we look at it from the standpoint of the offense has been playing so well, but of course, you know, with with the losses, every little thing is going to be magnified.

That's true, you know, and so.

You know, unfortunately, until the defense starts to come around a little bit and take some of this pressure off of Dak and the offense.

I mean, we talk about playing a perfect game, I.

Don't think they can ady I think it's gonna have to be They're gonna have to continue to be perfect. Where that's where the precat penalty they can't they can't afford them.

And we look at penalties, guys.

They're second in the league, sixty seven in terms of penalties committed, they are second in the league. And then it comes to penalty yards, they've got five hundred and fifty five and that's the third most in the league. And Bill, Poorcels, he's alway talking about the hitting yardage that would be lost, and that's you know right there, man, you're you're out here kicking field goals because you keep going in the red zone and something's happening.

It dwindles your playbook down. Man, if you from third and four to third and ten is a big time. Like you have a bunch of different stuff you can do on third and four.

I mean you could run it.

You can get in inches and go, you know, tushbus or something for the person that when you get to that third and ten round where these guys can just pin their ears back and get half to Prescott, I mean, it becomes.

Tough ball at the one versus ball the six because of the penalty. Just even that right there, that's dramatic. That's a dramatic change of what goes on. And it's happened too much. And Schottenheimer said, well, we're gonna fix it. We're gonna address it. But okay, but this has been something when happened when Brian was here.

Yeah, okay, so this isn't something that's just new, Like hey baby, you've been here when you were the offensive coordinator. This is stuff that couldn't happen. So you guys are former players when we come back from the break, how does this get corrected? Is it coaching? Is it players is in house? Is it guys getting on other guys? What do you do in these types of situations?

I've been a part of one of those embarrassing national televised games. We lost to the Green Bay Packers in twenty ten my rookie season forty eight three or forty five to three.

We was already like one in something. Man, wholesale changes came the next week. My boy uncle Wage was gone.

Man, I meant hotel change, hotel.

Everybody was getting I mean, it was it was like, man, it was like it was that day after you after the Black Monday.

It was like one of them days.

So the head coach got fire. Is that the only time he's that done that?

Like in season, like, don't get embarrassed, don't embarrass him on and Garrett all of a sudden, the play calling it was a little different, a little bit better, a little bit better. I ain't saying much, but I am saying it was a little play calling. God, you know, we went five and three the rest of the season, So okay, he got the job, and he got the job for the next what was that ta.

Near decade decade? Yeah, decade of more of the story. Do not embarrass mister Jones on national television.

Don't do that's really any owner, don't Yeah, don't embarrass that's I don't.

At this point, you know, like when it comes to the communication, because we know what the offense is probably gonna get back to doing all right, last week they had a bad game. Yeah, okay, So now we're looking at the communication amongst the defense.

Okay, now we have to.

Get to a point where as players, we just have to have that defensive only meeting and so we're like,

And what's what's concerning to me about the communication and making sure everybody's on the same page. I mean, you got as your quarterbacks in the secondary, you got you know, Marquise Bell right now, who was an undrafted guy, been in the league for a couple of years, but he was never considered like the you know, the big communicator back there. And you also got to believe his name is Elijah Clark, undrafted rookie free agent back there.

It's just it's I just I.

Find it hard for them to be able to, you know, I don't know if it's you know, lack of understanding the playbook to be able to confidently go out there and say, hey, I need you to do this or you do that, But whatever the case may be, they gotta be on the same page.

Man.

If you're not on the same page, that's when you get those explosive plays in a run game and in the.

But you want us to go out there and fight week in and week out. You you basically putting on the season.

And when there's still a lot of games left to be played, like you said, they might not be able to go out there and catch the Eagles and win you know, the division or anything like that, but there's still wild card opportunities out there you can't put you can't get rid of when you get best players and expect your team to just sit there and say, oh, yeah, yeah, we still got a chance, because they're just gonna look at shoddy and like, what are you talking about?

You wanna come out here and tell us, yeah we got a chance. We gotta keep fighting. We're in the right place. When you just kicked one, you know, you just got you know, traded one.

Of our best players. So there's no way and on it, there's just no way that happened.
