So, as former players tell me this, do you start to look at the schedule the rest of the way. Oh? Yeah, I mean I know I was. I mean I look at it. I see all the different matchups I had. Like, so when I was playing, like, I'm looking at I'm going to get tight ends. So if I see I got New England on the schedule, I'm looking where all the

best tight ends. Right, So that's how I got get ready. I got get ready. I get it ready. But going into the byway, yeah, you definitely looking at looking at the schedule ahead of time, seeing okay, we went knees and we might lose this one, but if we keep going the way we're going, we got a chance to make to the playoffs. I mean, that's just how I did it when I was playing. Yeah, I mean I looked at a few I used the byewe counting for

what it was was to step away from the game. Uh, And as I got older, I kind of understood more what it was really about because my first year I was in Vegas. I was like, yeah, I gotta get out of here. As a matter of fact, we're losing. That was That was a year. It was about I called an interception against Houston. I thought I was the man. I was like, yeah, let's go out to the Vegas

that yeah, yeah, I think yeah. And then, uh, you know, as I got older than it was, you know, the bodies not as young as it used to be, and then you need to step back and get some rehab and chill with the family and enjoy that all time. So I wasn't really focused on the schedule. And like I said in the first episode, I was playing special teams in Church, was playing safety, so his his outlook on the game, it's a little bit different than mine.

But I mean that was was fun though. Oh yeah, you're supposed to have you know, comrider, you hang out with the teammates and go back to your college all that type of stuff. So you know, it's a good time. And we were blessed enough to have a play in a city where women you had a lot of stuff to do. I mean it was like I was in Jacksonville and the first thing, the first time the bout we happened. I mean, people want the first thing out,

They want to first fighting about it. We were blessing up that play in a good city though, Yeah, man, and then you like the great thing about playing for the Cowboys are playing any sport in Texas. We're central to almost every city. But if you want to get to these coaches, you know, it's amount of time you

want to get the West called at the same time. Okay, um, let's go back into something that I brought up an episode six and we ended up having a interesting conversation about special you and I which was the Jets loss, and is did the coach have them ready to play? And you you took the coach aside on it. Now, I will let you know I immediately gave credit after the game, and I said, Jason Garrett had them ready to go. So if I dish if I dish it out and say this is blamed, I must at the

same time, now give credit to us. But I'm I'm gonna stick to my same stance as I still believe he had them ready to go for those for that three game slide, and they were ready to go this time. They just the players took it upon themselves as they are supposed to do as NFL athletes and professionals, and they came out with a h what a goal to embarrass the Eagles. We had seen that type of start all season long. Was it Doug Peterson saying it or was it the loss to the Jets and just hearing

it all way? And what happened right out of the gate? Bam it snatching one from Carson Witz you know, office gets the ball, touchdown, come back out again, snatch another one from the Eagle, give it back to the offense. Fourteen and nothing. So as players tell me, how is this happening? And why does it? You gotta push him

against the wall. You gotta lose it just kind of it's not to see, like if so, if we're playing a different team, and if Zach is it, who is it who was the first person to fumble the tight end? Got her? Right? If that's Zach Ertz and they make the same hit, maybe he done a fumble, right, This is opportunistic, like sometimes the opportunities are there, sometimes they're not. Right.

If we had an opportunity to have Gotter catch the ball and he fumbled, yes, right, and then the next fumble, we have an opportunity to get a sack force fumble and it happens. Right. I don't think it's something different from what they did last week. They were still trying to make that happen. They were still rushing hard. The opportunity presented itself and they capitalized. Yeah, and they didn't do something like they always saying football man, Sometimes the

ball bounces away. Sometimes it doesn't win the Super Bowl. Sometimes it take look throughout the scene. They started fast. Yeah, they started fast. And I'm not quite sure, Diday. Did they cut down on penalties. I'm not quite sure on that one, because that I mean, because that was killing my first because we was up. We were playing so well. Shout out the MVPs of the game. I'm saying he saw ghosts, and I sat there, and I'm sure there are a bunch of other Cowboy fans who sat there and said, these guys beat us. That's I'm sure that's what those Cowboy fans are saying. And I'm sure you guys are probably say

they beat the Cowboys. How three hundred thirty yards against the Cowboy. Let me tell you something that I know about football, all right, It is never fair to compare one game like us lose them to the Jets and us being able to beat the Patriots, if the Jets would have beat the Patriots, like they are two different games. Okay,

it's always two different games. You wake up every Sunday and every time, every every week, something changes, right, everybody has a chance to win each week, week week legal. So so if somebody goes out there and beat the Patriots, you are are embarrasses the next team. You can't say, all right, well we go out there and we beat them. We better than that team that they beat. It don't work like that. College football, that's how they different. I

mean matchups are different as well. I mean the Patriots obviously matched up way better than against the Jets. I mean it's it's it's different. Anything can happen on any getting a Sunday. I mean that's what they say. Okay, So let's dive here deeper into our football phrase, which is, you know, seeing ghosts. Shout out is Halloween? Halloween? Damn. Sam Darnold says that have you all experienced a quarterback on the field who saw ghosts? Barry, did you ever

play with a quarterback who saw ghosts? You can be honest, bro, not not at my time here in Dallas. Dallas, So it wasn't gonna leave it at that. I saw ghosts, but I mean it happens when the field. I guess it never happened to me. You know what I'm saying. I never went out there, you know, seeing ghosts to me is we're doing a phrase of day right now. So yeah, yeah, I let my boydriend no self explanatory,

you know What's what I'm saying. So usually when somebody makes reference to ghosts and it's Halloween, I mean, you're scared, right, You're seeing some stuff is frightening you and all that. So when you're a quarterback and you're on the field and somebody says that you are seeing ghosts. The defense has you so shaken that you are seeing people coming at you that aren't even really on the field. It's causing you to throw the ball to each and every

person with the opposite color of jersey on. And that's four interceptions that we saw that he was throwing to ghosts. I mean, he was ready for Halloween. He was moving when he had time. So just so just to get into with defensive schemes, right, So the Patriots, I can't really break down that scheme like that, but I know that Bill Belichick likes to confuse you before and pre snap and posting that right, so he'll show you something pre snap that looked like Blitz that he ran the

week before. And then after the ball to snap, they are retreating it into a totally different defense. So they bell out and you thought you were seeing Cover three that Church explained a few weeks ago, and then you snapped the ball and all of a sudden, you got it.

You got Cover four, right, So you're throwing it to where you thought that the receiver would be open if it was Cover three, but not then Cover four and you're throwing the ball right to the defender and Sam Darnold's case, it was blitz right, so he thought that he was seeing a blitz. He was sure he was seeing the blitz. He had promised hisself and his coaches and his old line that he said, hey, look check him, Mike,

that number, he's blitzing. He snapped the ball, closed his eyes and he swore that that Mike was blitzing, and he was. He wasn't. He wasn't friendly though. It wasn't friendly at all, folk pure I wish I was playing center. That boy was throwing gift to you. Man, Oh you

needed to get to have a good season. This our fan, saym darn was and our fantasy football league, we had a guy that was down seventy five points and he had the Patriots defense, and at halftime we all sitting there saying, this guy has a chance to win, But how is that even possible. That's take back to when I said, I understand fans now, man, because there ain't no way you should you should if you up down seventy some points, ain't no way defense should be able

to carry you to victory on that. It's just it. But he didn't win. He didn't come back from it, probably threw up Bertie, probably made up over half. He didn't win because I will give a shout out to the Jets defense who played as well as they could for the under the circumstances they were in. They are getting getting back up after we just made a turnover. We just stopped him, and in two plays later you back on. You've been there. I've been there, and it sucks. Man.

That's all right, sucks with Matt Hall. So so tell me this, since you're you're both you're not playing more. Take people inside this here on the player's line. you want to do. I mean it's frustrating. I mean it's frustrating that I ain't gonna lie to you man, like looking at like crazy. It's just like, what are you doing? I never really said anything, but I was just frustrated as heck, like I mean you, I mean you're going out there, you stopping him, you get a turnover, Yes, momentum is going all way. Then all you hear up, de up your helmet, don't get a Ramsey say something. I mean there's cats out there that same thing. I'm

not gonna say it was all with the Jaguars. I'm not gonna say that either, but it happens, and it's frustrating as hell team right now. And uh yeah, it's frustrating. Uh but you know, it's just me. That's just the way I think about life in general is I remember days when the defense was playing like trash and I was sitting there wondering what the offense was thinking. And as soon as I'm in that mode of like, man, this dude is tripping. Who was he throwing it too?

I started to remember those games when I was like, the defense is giving up, and and when you went your boys, like you talked with your boys like if you got you got your boys on your team. I mean, everybody's teammates were all cool, but there's certain people that you like, really really tight with and if every es, if you're on the same side of the ball, you see something going on. Man, What is this dude doing? Man?

We got to go back, man. Yeah, we don't talk about that in the players, and we talk about that at home. Sometimes you some stuff you gotta take away from the building. When I come in with my microphone frustrating, it's the dudes. It's over the lock and whispering to each other. And that's where you want to go live them guys. It was a very good defensive game plan, and the Cowboys the Cowboys in the fourth quarter right there and then uh Tom Brady ended up throwing a

touchdown pass. It wanted, but it was. It was a very competitive game and Rob and saying, look, you know, people had their own issues with Rob and I get it, but they're they're they're two they're two games that stick out to me in my mind where I thought robbed it. Rob's defense did everything to win the game and the offense didn't come through for him. It was that New England game, and it was that final game with RG three, and I've been Washington for the n those and that

that defense was depleted that day was out. I mean it was do you talk about stitching putting some glue with it? Everyone was hurting that game, but right there, you know the defense, those the two those that those two game plans stick in my mind, where hey, Rob had Rob did Robin, the deed did their part. They love that Chicago dcent, but they trying to do that. Man, they're trying to top game that was the first game, their only game. I'm ready to go. I almost tapped out, listen tapped out. So when it's that cold and uh and Soldier field, they have to cut the shower water on a certain amount of time early before the game starts for people to be able to take hot showers before out of the game. But we somebody didn't know that.

So after the game we had cold showers. I'm about negative negative ten degree weather come right coming off Lake Michigan. We have to go now getting to getting off, but ain't taking a cold shower. We thought it was publishing cold shower. That was Josh McCown through like four boys, and we decided to de Marco is running like bro when we did about twenty I'm sending back let the mark and running please bright the game boy did not
