Now your hosts Barry Church, Danny McCray, and NEWI scrugs. Here it is Players Laughs on a victory Monday. Hello everyone there scrubs joined by two former Dallas Cowboys players,
undrafted free agent safeties, talking about Danny McCray and Barry Church. Gentlemen, there should be no complaining for the fan base today, right, no complaints after a fifty six to fourteen win on Sunday night football. Right, there shouldn't be any. There shouldn't be any, But you know that somebody's gonna find the reason. To me, I'm happy offense back on tracks, special teams playing well, and defense continuing to roll. So I'm awesomiles on my side. Oh I lost out for a hot second? Man?
What was that again? Newly, I said there should be no complaining amongst the fan base today after Oh, yeah, you're right about that. Man. You ain't gonna here no type of complaining. I know I was a little bit of a wrenched last time. We talked because I wasn't sure about whether this can be the formula for success or not. But man, these boys, man, I mean, words can't even explain it, really, how dominating of a performance they had out there on Sunday. I mean I figured
they would win the game, but not like that. Man, you got a special team's touchdown, a defensive touchdown. Dak looked back to us always and I know we're gonna break it all down in this in this version of the players nouns. But man, I'm at a loss for words right now. Well, to me, I look at it simply as is the defense finally got some help, right, That's all I needed. There's a little bit of help because the defense came out there and continued to ball
out like crazy. I mean, why Taylor Heidege decided to go after tray Vall Dick. I don't know. I'm not a quarterback. I don't know what he was thinking. But there you got, there's one you go. I see, like, going into this game, they had it in their mind. Look as soon as the game jump off, we're going deep. We are taking a shot deep this first possession. That's what we're gonna do. I understand that you want to take your shot, But why I take it to that guy?
Like you got Anthony Brown? Don't over here, you got all these other guys. You want to take a shot at a man who has probably the best ball skills out of any defensive back in the National Football League right now, converted wide receiver, You want to take a deep shot on that guy. It just goes to show you Washington, Man, they didn't losing team. They didn't just know what they just know how to lose games. And
they started it off just right. He was he was setting the tone, man, He was setting the tone for how the day was gonna go. Man, let me go out here and go ahead and rick this game. And you see right after that will fall off the Washington
football team. Right they started points put up on them like crazy dudes on the sideline fight and get hit with right right hooks because they get fingers put on side of their face like the wheels literally fell off after their second offensive play, which was which is absolutely crazy because the game was more competitive a couple of weeks ago, so you figured maybe they would put up, you know, a better fight, but they just had no shot last night, and and that's what we're supposed to do.
When when you go out there, you play a team who's missing some of their key players, you supposed to go out there and you're pupposed to stump them out at the beginning of the game and ended before it even gets started. Well, my initial thought process was maybe heine kids trying to get Terry McLaurin off because Dick erased him in the last football game and then mclauren left to feel hurt. So maybe they thought, you know, when we're gonna go after this dude right away, we're
gonna show him we're boss. Bad idea, and Terry mclauren once again basically shut down. He had three catches for forty yards, and the three catches came to the competitive football phase that the game was over. So Digs in my opinion, guys, this we're not talking, you know, because he's made the Pro Bowl. I'm talking All Pro now. He's got to be all the first team All Pro list with eleven interceptions here that I mean, I don't know who'll be the second corner, but Trey ba Dix
has got to be on the All Pro team. He's got to be. You're you're one hundred percent right about that. I mean, look, I know, the guy's giving up the most yards out of any corner in the National Football League right now. But when you're talking about a guy who's making game changing plays, game momentum, swinging, whatever you want to call it, this dude is making splash plays
each in every week. Like this guy has his hands on football's like he's a wide receiver out there, so I can I mean, it's gonna be hard for me to see two other corners ahead of him, especially when you talk about the All Pro team. They might want to throw in Jalen Ramsey because he's having a heck of a season out there as well. But when you talk about the main job of a defensive back, especially
a cornerback, this dude is doing it. He's getting the ball, he's intercepting each and every chats that's thrown his way, and if it's not intercepted, it's contested and what he's doing a better job of that. Earlier in the season we were kind of like, I don't know, is he a leader not He's shadowing the best receiver and not only is he shadowing, he's shutting them down. So this guy. I mean, he's just taking his game to the next
level after next level after next level. And you know, I know all pros already in Pro Bowl, All Pro that's already in. We need to be talking about Defensive Player of the Year as well. I mean, I know Michael Parsons is getting a lot of a lot of you know, adulation and celebration for him being in a Defensive Player of the Year running. But this guy, Digs he needs some of that as well. Man, Yeah, listen
and Digs's ball. And I thought it was crazy when he was going through training camp and he was like, man, I had I got my hand on fourteen balls last season. I got to convert all those and it says that I was like, but you didn't getting fourteen nothing ain't no way. And he literally is all his way to doing that. He's on pace, especially with some of the quarterbacks that you that you figured that you're gonna play Colin Murray hadn't been planned as well, then you got
wasn't Jamalen Hurst coming up? So you have a chance to get to fourteen realistically, especially if they're going to continue to come at you. My only question for Heineke if we go back on the last subject, just why don't they run the nobble like they literally just come out and McLaurin just runs straight down the field. I'm like, you're not showing any respect for this dude. And he's been intercepting passes from the beginning of the season at an alarming rate. And that's the guy you decide to
go ahead. Treymund Diggs should be in the conversation for all of the accolades, for Defensive Player of the Year, for All Pro Team, for everything. He should be in that conversation because when you get less like church you play defensive back, when you get eleven interceptions in the season, that should be like, that's the end of the season. You might do that by week sixteen seventeen. This dude
still got games to play. Man, You talk about eleven getting getting five interceptions is tucking in the league, Man, this dude is out here snagging them out only just getting picks, but getting picks sixes. Man Like this, this is ridiculous. And you know, I'm gonna go back to Taylor Heineke one more time here. This dude needs to be an all time backup, whether it's second string, third string, whatever the case may need to be. He needs to
be an all time backup. I don't want to hear nothing more about Taylor Heineke and his magical approach to winning games and all this other stuff. First of all, the guy he was, he was playing like he was in a press position. I'm talking about digs and at the snap of the ball he turned his back so and he's looking at the quarterback the whole time. So you know he's playing some type of cover three, some type of zone where he's all he's necessarily all he's
concerned about is the deep pass. And you still throw the ball, and not only you throw the ball, you don't give your receiver a chance. He threw that ball all the way inside by the numbers. The safety almost got to the ball. So I mean it's Taylor Heineke man man worst Fitz magic gap. He didn't out the game better? What the Tabor behind? Yeah, I mean that was down like terrible. Double G looked better just showing
up on Thursday. Then he's been there all season. He goes, hen, we only heard about Double G and they shout out to trade mounds. Is he is bawling? And what I thought was unrealistic at the beginning of the season with him saying he's gonna get fourteen interceptions. He's on his way, so shout out to him. I'm happy to be wrong. His son is his own point and he's only pretty much every quarterback that he's playing against. And I'm just
confused with why they keep going at all. Like the remember they said Brett Farr gave a straight hand that last sat that like that. That's what I feel like these quarterbacks is doing that, Like you know what, let me try to get this man the record, Like, I don't understand what's going on. Hey mccraig, what team were you a part of? Like who had the most interceptions on the squad that you were a part of ever,
like in your whole career. Man, the entire time I was there, you were there to church and we did not have any defensive backs that we're getting interceptions like that, So I would probably say like two or three even in Chicago. Weren't nobody getting no picks in Chicago like that. Even nobody nobody's getting like bro, nobody gets picked not like this. But yeah, we were we were a team that were turning the ball over like we are now, you know, and shout out to the other guys who
are also getting picks and pick sixes. It's literally something that you just won't see again for a long time, na and now your career. The most picks I've ever seen was I think a j Boyer has six in Jacksonville and that was unprecedented. I'm like, man, this dude's ball behind of control. This guy almost doubled it with three games leapt in the season. I mean, this is nuts, man, this is crazy. Cowboys haven't seen it forty years. Everson Walls ended up with with having picks back in nineteen
eighty one. Something that's very interesting, and I'm gonna try and look into this later on Danny about Dick's being possible Defensive Player of the Year Stefan Dick, I mean step on guild War ended up winning it a couple
of years ago with England. I need to go back and see exactly what kind of year he had in which he was able to capture that award and maybe something along the lines maybe a Cowboys pr and needs to probably get involved in is starting to look at what has Digs done against some of these elite wide receivers. I mean, Justin Jefferson is elite as a receiver in the National Football League. I think he held him the two catches on the Halloween night, so you know, building
up that resume. Just okay, not only look at what he's done, who's who has he done it against? Because that also matters, and we just say, all right, hey, look you go over there, you go take that guy. That's when you're a different on a different level. And that to me is when you're talking about, you know, a defensive back being NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
That's the kind of resume. Those are the kind of things you look at me and in the swag that he's playing when you can see it, you can see it driven off of them. When he's out there playing the game, like I don't care. Every time he play he's looking back to either the posting team sideline like I don't understand why y'all trying this, or you're looking to our side line like these dudes is crazy. Like
he's out there playing with nowhere. He has an ultimate confidence and he continues to say it, and he continues to play that way, and you can see it. Man, this is This is one of those years where I wish that this is his contract year, because knew this was it, he would be making a hundred million dollars, right. These are the type of years that you wish you'd have in a contract year. Yeah, he's gonna break the
bank eventually. And you could tell he's out there with so much saw, so much swash, so much drip, just about his alignment, I mean the back. You understand this when when when corners are out there, they're not even like in the position. They're just out there walking around, standing straight up, you know, just looking around, seeing what's going on. You don't even know if they're ready to play if the snap. The snap can happen at any second, and you don't even know if they're ready to play.
And he goes out there and make plays like that. I mean, the confidence right now for this dude is on another level. I mean, he can God, he can. He can probably cover God right now if he stepped on the field. I mean, this dude, whoa I don't know about that. I was about to get Kelvin Joseph's in love and church over and taking the church church over. Skills are unmatched right now. Man Man birthday twenty field just fast you I can't talking about it. I ain't
talking about going on football. Y'all know that I got a chill out with so dude bringing up a good point. Boss Man fat ends up getting to start, almost had his hands on the ball that he had intercepted. Here, you guys have played in the league. How much is a guy like Kelvin Joseph a rookie to this team? Seeing everything that's happening start, he starts to feed into and buying into. This is the program, this is how it works, and this is the level of play I need to be at if I'm gonna be out here
contributing on the football field. Yeah, listen, like like we said last week, when you watch these guys and how hustle on how they play, especially the starters. When you see Tank making a hundred million, but he's out there hustling like he's a rookie. When you see Randy Gregory out there doing the same thing, Michael Parsons being the man getting all the pub and he's still out there
busting his ass every time he's running through. You know that they're showing the young guys that you have to come in and play this way if you want to be a part of our defense. And you can see that on defense, and you can see that on special teams when you see guys coming in here and they're given everything they got to block these punts right because
they know that is the standard. And we know the same standards set like that in office because the Dak Prescott is the leader of that group and they're gonna follow him, so they're always gonna play hard. But defensively, last year what you saw was guys not hustling, guys loafing, and then that kind of trickling down to other guys on the squad. And this year it is literally a one eight, like if you step on the field, you have to play up to this level or get off
of it right. And you can see that that that's what's going on on our defense without a doubt. And what I'm gonna have to I'm gonna, you know, two two people credit on this one. You know, I gotta give two people credit. One is Dan Quinn. I mean, he he made his defense flip a complete one eighty, not only on the field, but just the culture around
the organization. Defensively, just knowing that. You know, yet they can be the strength of this team because for so many years it was, you know, all the defenses holding his back and all the offense got to do so much for this defense to even be successful. But now they're able to switch that whole time around, and he has these guys flying around. So I gotta give credit to Dan Quinn for that big turnaround defensively, and also
Michael Parsons. I mean, this guy, this rookie, his energy out there, it's contagious, and you can tell by going out there. You've seen the law talking about, Man, I gotta get back out there. I gotta get back on this field. This young guy, he's doing too much damage. I gotta get piece of that. He's making everybody else step their game up, whether it's on the defensive line, whether it's the linebackers, the secondary. He has that just
contagious juice about him that gets everybody flowing. Just that youthful experience out there that gets everybody just wanting to play football and having fun. And these guys are doing that. They're having fun out theaters. They're not letting the pressure get to them, at least, you know, on on the surface of things. They're not letting the pressure get to them. They're flying around there. They're playing for each other and I'm just glad these guys are having fun with it.
And defensively, man, they're flying around. They are flying around. Man, he is he earning that twenty man t Tank is setting the tone like crazy when you think about it. Diggs gets the first offensive possession. Cowboys don't get anything done. So first play, Washington goes to Diggs, he makes the pick. Then they go out and convert a touchdown. It's seven to nothing. You got a fourteen nothing league. Tank with the interception returns at forty yards. Unbelievable play. The kind
of play you see at a high school leveling. It's not the kind of play to see in the National Football League, made by by a big man like that. So Tank Lawrence is in my opinion, I thought that was the backbreaking play. To me, when I saw that, I thought, okay, now this is this is done the deep. The defense is continuing to set the tone. The offense has come to do their part here. This is not
going to be the Washington football team's day. And Tak Lawrence is the undisputed leader in my opinion of this defense, he's he is that alpha dog here. And while he won't make the make a Pro Bowl because of the time he missed, he's back to being a blue chip player. He wasn't a blue chip player in the last two years. He's a blue chip player. Micah Parson is a blue
chip player. Trayvond Diggs is a blue chip player. You get three players on all three levels of the blue chips like this man, you could do something like they did in a fifty six to fourteen win. And then Randy Gregory is playing an outstanding football here, so I curse out standing. Yes, he has outstanding football Sacking the quarterback,
getting that secondary lined up. I mean, they're gonna be a tough out, man, They're gonna be a tough about especially if this offense is rolling or getting back to what it was doing at the beginning of the season. It's gonna be a tough out for anybody in these playoffs. Yeah. I mean, what Tank Lawrence did yesterday, in my opinion, he basically broke Washington. I thought that play right there just said so much and you saw the way the stadium was rocking sidelines. I mean that just that just
took everything to the next level. And obviously we'll take a break here, we'll come back and we'll talk about the slump that Dak Prescott was in. Okay, he says he wasn't, but he was. Knew We schruedule all with former Dallas Cowboys safeties Buried Church and Danny mccraids in victory Monday. No complaining allowed on this show today because the Cowboys dominated
the Washington football team fifty six to fourteen. Dak Prescott put a whole lot of work in and basically a half put in the whole game in a half, three twenty one yards, four touchdowns, threw an offensive touchdown to an offensive threw a touchdown pants to offensive blinding tight end, thlunding back receiver. The man was balling out of control and afterwards he was asked if he felt like the slump was over, and Dak was like, oh what slump?
I was never in a slump, Like okay, all right, whatever, say whatever, you want, But what we saw the last three four weeks was not you what we saw on Sunday that football against Washington football team. That's the Dak Prescott that got paid forty five million dollars. That's the Dak Prescott that can take the Cowboys deep in the playoffs. Fellas. Your thoughts on what Dak was saying that, Hey, ain't no slump sum you're talking about. Look, look, man, I
don't know what Dak over there talking about. You know, I guess he was a little hyped up after the game. But my man was definitely in a slump. I mean there was six weeks there where I think his quarterback rating was down in the forties or the fifties, So I mean, he definitely had a little slump there. But to me, I thought this game right here, there's fifty
six to fourteen game. I thought this was gonna happen last Like I thought them going to New York, that was gonna be to get right game and they were gonna blow the doors off of them, and we're gonna get out of this slump. But I just took another week to get that thing going. And they went out there and they punished I mean straight punished the Washington football team. And then you look at Kellen Moore and
what he was able to do. Play calling wise, they did an emphasis on I know my boy d Mac was happy about this, an emphasis on getting the ball to nineteen early and often. So you saw they were drawing up plays for him, making him the primary target, not just saying okay, if he wins, you know, look his way, he might be open. He was the primary target on a lot of those plays out there. He voiced his concerns earlier in the week, Kellen Moore said, I I'm a feed of the football, big dog, and
he was able to do that. They had a couple of good plays in there where they were drawing up some things to where you got creativity that we saw earlier in the season from their play calling. It kind of shone a little bit. There was one play I think on third and sixteen early in the game where I was like, man, thinking catch lateral pass. I don't even know how to explain it, but that was just out of pocket, like don't ever do that stuff again.
But you can see the man did. The emphasis on getting the ball to Amari Cooper showed a little bit more creativity out there, and Dak Prescott was a lot more efficient, a lot more accurate than he's been in the past. The offensive line block well for him, So it was a good day all around offensively. And shout out to a Terre Steel for getting that big fix six as they call it, big man in the end zone.
That was awesome. Yeah, we get on him in a minute. No, listen, I didn't believe that Dak Prescott was in the slump and knew he. I know you said no complaining, So I'm gonna say it this way. Dak Prescott went out there and did what he was supposed to do. And I give him credit for that because you've seen teams and players not go in and and handled their business like they're supposed to when you play against the team
who were missing those type of weapons. Uh, the La Chargers versus the Houston Texas this week went out there and they weren't focused, and they didn't do it they're supposed to. They went out there and lass, So shout out to that and and the Cowboys for going out here and do what they're supposed to do. I think this is a good get right game for that for him to get that confidence back and be able to see if I do things and serve the way and get back to the basics, then I'm able to play
at the at my best. And he went out there and he did that, and shout out to Amari Cooper if you see if you, if you watch it, the guy was open. Every time he's going to run the route and to get him open. And he and he literally can do this at any point in the game, especially if you if you if the defense is playing man the man courage, So shout out to him for getting that. If you see it. When the offense goes four to twenty one to nineteen, right, Dak Prescott focused
on Ezekiel Ellett and then focus on Amari Cooper. Everything opens up, the bootleg opens up, the play actually opens up deep just opened up. The middle of the field opens up like that is the recipe for you to win. Give the ball to the guys who make the money and you will be okay. And we did that and it looked amazing, Like he said, Church, shout out to Terren steel Man he got on the touchdown. When Terry Sniff come back, he'd be back on the bench. But
big Man Street didn't like the score. Big Man liked the score man because Lelle actually is out there and he's his specialty. It seems like it's being when he pulls in the running game and he's leading the charge. It's nobody like that when you see him running down the field. So shout out to him for playing well too. Yeah, Laoe Collins to me, man, he seems like a and you know this d mac playing against Washington back in the day, but he kind of reminds me of who
was there. Was it Trick Williams was there big tackle for a while. He's on San Francisco right now. He seems like that guy when he's pulled around the corner. And I know for a fact because Terence Wip or whatever his name is. Williams put me on my back a couple of times out there at Washington. But Layelle, I mean, he's looking good pulling. He seems like he's he us his best work when it's evolved in the
run game. And d Mac man, you think they was just throwing a couple of bread crumbs to steal over there, knowing he's about to get right back on the bench. Now. Listen, I don't. I don't think it was intentional, you know, just to give him something. But but the truth of the matter is if Tyra Smith comes back healthy and the way that Lao is playing now, especially if we're gonna focus on running the football, tarn still won't seem to feel forward for the Super Bowl run, which which
is unfortunate. But you gave a Layoll a chance to continue to prove that he can play better. So now that spot is he is for sure, and Tyring is Hall of Famer, Jerry loves him. He's gonna play well if he's out there and he's healthy. So you know, unfortunately, Tarry Steele might be taking that fullback position from who is a mcgovernor, but governor a t still at the little athletic out there, man got the little release off the line, so no shot shot out to Tarry Steel.
I'm a Tarry Steal fan man, But but I gotta give Layo his problems. When when when we run the ball and you've seen us put him, we're gonna pull it all my guards tap, we pulled everybody, and that is when we were at our best. Name. When you when you get that convoy in front of Zeke and then he gets to punish them at the end like
he did on that touchdown run. That's something that defenders do not want to see coming at them, especially with the new rule that the defensive backs and linebackers whatever, you cannot cut the offensive linement when they're pluming them like that. So that is just something you don't want to see coming insine. That's that's that's a crazy rule to me, Like I don't know how to expect defensive backs to get in on the plane like about to
hit these big offensive linement up top. That's that's endangering our health. Like you know, I don't get it, but you know, that's the conversation for another day. No, no, hold on, because I got I do have a conversations. I'm watching I'm watching the broadcast yesterday and people are loving this. Like when the running backs get stopped right before the goal line, Now the offensive linement can hop behind them and they can go push them into the end zone. But then the defense and on the defense
four partners to stop. But we didn't push the running back ten yards back, but they still get the ball wherever four progress will stop. That I think that is absolute gardens make it fair both ways. All right, I'm on my ram No, I'm gonna add on a little bit to that. They gotta make it fair both ways. Man, you're gonna open up the can now. I'm jumping all into it. Now. This ain't rugby. Like you can't. Like you just said, McCray, you can't have a scrum push
the ball forward. But when the defenders do it, it's for a progress stock Because I'm gonna tell you what's gonna happen next. You're gonna see these little defenders, the DBS, all these players, they see the scrub going forward, they're gonna start knifing into that pile at knees and they're gonna start hitting these linemen at the knees to stop them for pushing it forward. And then we're gonna have a whole discussion on how that's not fair to the linement.
You're gonna hurt the lineman. We're talking about health and protocols for the game. No, man, they just want the offense to be successful each in every season. I mean, they just make it. They might as well be seven on seven now. They might as well just let the quarterback go out there and pass it around and we'll play two hand touch. I mean, because it's it's getting ridiculous for defenders in the league nowadays. All Right, I'm done, I'm my soapbox. Get the ultimate fan experience for the

He made seven catches for eighty five yards
and a touchdown. Going forward, should Amari Cooper have sent the message and Kelly Moore gets it now or does he have to reiterate this one more time? Because this is the Amari Cooper You're paying twenty million dollars for Danny Oh well, And but look, I think he's gonna have to reiterate it. I mean, I know this is you know the options, like all right, you know he told Kellen, he told everybody like, look, I need to get the ball. So I feel like they fed him
in that game. But when we go into this next game, if the run game is popping or somebody else on the receive mc cors popping, then they're gonna feed those guys. And then eventually it's gonna cycle back over again to where Mark Kuper's gonna like, I'm not, you know, happy
not getting the rock and all this other stuff. I fly I could do more damage that way, So I think he's gonna have to keep going and making sure these guys know he's out there and he can go ahead and he can contribute to the team because he's he's a mild manner dude. He's not gonna go out there and again and cuss anybody out because they didn't give him a football. He's a team player and he does what's best for the team. But at that moment, he felt like him getting the football more would be
best for the team. So I hope they keep that in mind, and I hope they keep feeding this guy. Y'all, y'all ought to stop playing with Coop. Yeah, team player and all that other stuff, The same stuff he's saying on the players, Linds Cooper was here and that savings next stuff and from everybody else in his ear as well, and it started to wear wear on him a little bit. And the thing is he was right though, you know
what I'm saying. So so everybody should walk in and look at this and say, look, if we frustrated this guy, I would even kill the most team player of focus type guy enough for him to actually have to say something. And then when he did say it, we look like a totally different team. We should actually listen because what
he said was corrected. He came out there and he made the plays when he had to, and it was a totally different type of Mark Cooper that we've seen, and that's the one that I want to see moving forward. All right, let's get another break in here when we come back. Let's dive into the special teams and the whole fact that the Cowboys are sitting here at the number two seed right now. How realistic is it they
could get the number one seed. Let's dive into that next. No, he scrugs all with Barry Church and Danny mc craize. The players uns brought you by Hotels dot Com on Dallas Cowboys dot Com Radio. along with former Dallas Skotboy safeties Barry Church and Danny mccraig. Gentlemen, have you ever been on a football team where you saw the kind of fight happened that we saw between the Washington football team yesterday when Jonathan Allen and John Payne went at it, and Chris Collinsworth for some reason didn't look at the video correctly because he was trying to blame Alan for what happened for swinging. And when you put your hand on the dude's head like that,
you're asking to get swung on. In my opin, yeah, you definitely ask him to get swung on, because that's a grown man right there. They ain't both grown men, and you don't treat other grown men like that like he didn't understandable deal the tensions were boiling. They're getting their bus kicked on national TV. But for my man to get up and just he just mustered with a finger right in the eyeball, it almost looked like the
other guy island. He had no choice but to retaliate because if you let that slap on national team, you will never hear the end of it, whether it's in their locker room, other people's locker rooms, family members, boys gonna be hitting up because if that happened to youth Matt, you know, damn fail out to be calling your phone. Hey, I know you ain't let that dude just do that
to you. So he had no choice but to swing at my man out there, and he's good he didn't connect because if he would have connect solid that, you know, there would have been some blood leaking out of somewhere because that was that's a big man throwing a heavy fist out there. But he wasn't rightful to do so. Pay should not have put his hands on him. And that's what happens because nobody on that NFL sidelines. I don't think anybody's afraid of anybody else, Like he don't
care how big you. I've seen running backs fight lineman. I've seen wide receivers fight lineman as well. So it don't matter who you is. If you disrespect another man on the field like that or anywhere, you don't get the hands put to you. And that's exactly what happened. Yeah, hey, listen, I ain't gonna to the church. Just take me back to Its not the same situation. But we that that
guy great party on the squad. He came over and slapped the clipboard out of rich hand, and Richard's ready to get it in now, like like literally, nobody is scared of anyone, right because you gotta treat grown men with with with that type of respect, because we all we all go through the same type of stuff in the locker room. We we do the same training, we go through the same pains, the same age, the same wins, the same losses. You treat me with respect. I think
he got exactly what he deserved. I'm glad he just grazed them, because that could have looked like one of that that Jake Paul versus a Whidley fighter. I just, I just I'm glad he did not get knocked out over there on that Washington bench because that would have been something that that we would have talked about for the next fifty years. So you don't do that. You got to show these dudes respect. I don't care if
you are captain or not. These dudes are grown and and I hear that they didn't known each other way back since college, so so they got some type of relationships. So he knew, he knew what he was doing when he put it, put his hand in that dude face. He shouldn't expect to get swann. Yeah, as they had those important benches that they brought in there out definitely
just just more embarrassment for that organization. And when the season started, so many people had picked Washington to repeat as division champions, and I said, no, I mean they won the division on seven with seven wins. This is just a bad organization. And I just didn't think it starts with the leadership at the top, with the owner. And to see what we saw yesterday just just kind of continues this is a bad, bad organization. Faded down the stretch here they got they got lucky with a
couple of wins this year things went their way. Amy go back to that Giants game when Washington lined up for a field goal and they missed, and all of a sudden, here comes a fanom flag and they're like, oh, the Giant's offensive linement was offside, defensive line was out, and they went ahead, kicked the field goal again. I mean, stuff like that had happened. And then they had that game where they beat Tampa Bay. You know, Tampa Bay went up there, slept walk and got beaten, and people
were thinking, oh, this team is good. No, no, you're not gonna win with those quarterbacks out there. You're just not gonna win with them. Special teams unit. How about a block punt and Goldston recovers in the end zone. Clement gets it there. John Fossil with another outstanding special team's performance from his team. You guys are special teams. That's how you cut your cut your teeth and made the Cowboys just free agent here. What were your thoughts? Yeah,
I listen. I thought it was amazing one one, because you give the special teams something to play for, right, these guys who are going to block punts and they know that they can actually get it done. Now, even though the technique was actually really really bad, he still
got up there and he blocked the punt. So these guys feel like they're part of the game because most of the time when you watching, when you're watching it back, are you listening to commentators talk, They say, offense played well, deepons played this way, and they usually lead the Special teams out unless they go out there and they do something that is that is bad that cost him a game. Like we saw table on Austin made a couple of
years ago. But now you see the Special Teams of the cow was being talked about in a positive light weekend and week out, Like, we love that. As a special teams unit, right, we want to feel like we're a part of the winds and if we lose, we want to feel like we're part of the losses. So John Fossils coach Fossil has them playing amazing, just like my man DQ. And I'm telling you it's just going through the building. DQ has brought a whole new attitude to all to all units. But yeah, shout out to
the Special teams man. They are playing outstanding and that's what we're gonna leave it. We want to make a d run into the playoffs. Yeah, the Special Teams are playing awesome, and like you said, D mac dan quinn. He might be the best free agent pickup we had all season long. But to me, when you looked at that block punt, his technique, like you said, was down like terry. I mean, my man jumped straight into the air. I mean, nine times out of ten, you ain't gonna
block a punt that way. But I don't know how he volleyball spiked that thing back into the counter. I mean, that was an amazing play. And for all wings out there, I'm talking about all the wings on the punt team, the guys on the edges, the very last dudes on the edge before you get to the personal protector. I played that position. Do not let the man get inside you and cross your piece like that's just the simple
role for it. Like kickstep, kickstep, dude, that nad crosses your face, tackling because you know, nine times out of ten he gonna block the punt. Protect your inside, Make that dude go around the way to get to the punter. That was terrible, terrible technique by the wing, but a hell of a play by Clement. Out there. The cowboys, like you said, special teams are rolling right now. Fossil is doing this thing, and my boy gregged the leg. If I'm not mistaken, he didn't miss one extra point
out there yesterday, if I'm not mistaken. So hopefully he gets it going as well. But kudos to the special teams man. They're playing awesome as well. So Danny, how much should the Cowboys be thinking about trying to get the number one seed at this point in time? They've got games against Arizona Philadelphia laughed. That's the only thing they should be thinking about. That's the only thing they should look. First of all, Milt McCarthy coming from Green Bay,
he knows that he doesn't want to go. He should know, like we don't need to go up there. If we have to get to the Super Bowl and have to go through lambeau Field order to get there, our history with Green Bay and being up in Green Brand, we should have PTSD from that. We should do everything we
possibly can to not have to go anywhere. Right, we should be able to play all our games here at the Statedum because, like you said, Newie last night, when when the law makes that that incredible play, the crowd is going crazy. I remember when I played here, we had a game where we were like asking the fans to show up and be a super round. You don't
have to do that anymore. This is what This is one of those environments now where you say we have a whole field advantage, right, So I think we should do everything we can to keep our games here in Dallas, Texas well. We want to be technical. I think they should get that number one seed. The only thing with me, a looking that concerns me is that Mott break you get once the season's done. It's like another bye weekend.
We had it in twenty sixteen to where we were rolling in thirteen and three going into the final game of the regular season up in Philly. I think we beat them, and then we had that break. We had that week off before the divisional round playoff, and when we showed up, we showed up sluggish and didn't start fast, and as y'all know the rest of the story, Aaron Rodgers tore us up and we ended up losing that game.
So I saw my only concern. But once again, that team was in twenty sixteen and it was led by Dak and Zeke and all that. But they were rookies at the time. So now they're established veterans, so maybe they can further understand how to how to handle that bye week situation. But if it's up to me, I like to do it the wild card through I just had the most success Rogers went straight from playing regular season to playoffs. I kind of like that approach to it.
All Right, Church, here's where I'll fight you back, and I'll just simply say this, this is a different coaching staff. Yeah, that's true too. Mike McCarthy has gone to a Super Bowl. He also had a fifteen and one team in which they had a bye week and then the next week they got put out of the playoffs. So I think Mike's got that experience now that he'll know exactly how to handle this. I gotta give him credit on that. And then you got Dan Quinn who's also been to
a Super Bowl as a head coach. So I think they've got a coaching staff and will know how to handle this thing correctly. I hope, So, I hope. So go ahead, you know, And like you said, Church, I think I think they have they have the right players. I think you got the d Laws, you got the Michael Parsons, you got you got the secondary, when you got Curse, you got Deak you got Zeke, you got Coop.
You have leaders all over all over the team who are gonna make sure that they come out and they play the right way, because this is like a once in a lifetime chance, especially if you're a Dallas Cowboys fan, right Like, you don't get the opportunity to watch this type of team be able to go into the playoffs, possibly getting them bye week in order to get them to the super Bowl. So I'm sure they're gonna keep nail that in their head, like we got to maximize
this opportunity, don't let this slip away. Yeah, I give what y'all saying. I mean, I definitely feel the different coaching staff, a different approach to it, and with that extra bye week, we could get you know, some guys that are banged up, maybe Tyn Smith gets another week to rest, or whatever the case may be. I just hope that that momentum doesn't dissipate because we've seen when when you know it wasn't it was because of injury. But when Dak was off for that game, I think
game or two, one or two. I think he missed me in the one game or two games. But whatever the case may be, they came back, that offense was staggnant for the next six weeks. So to me, I just want to keep that momentum going. But I understand where y'all coming from getting extra rest different coaches that it could be beneficial for this team. Hey, look, I'm gonna I'm just gonna say this right now and write it down here. I think the Cowboys will end up
with the number two seed. But I also would not be surprised if the Cowboys are hosting the NFC Championship. We talked so much about Green Bay and Green Base had an excellent run the last two years. It's hard to make it to the championship game three years in a row. It's a hard thing to do. We've seen Kansas City do it, but the odds tell you it's just not gonna happen. I mean, it's just very, very
hard to keep doing that. So Cowboys could end up hosting championship game if they just do their part as a number two Sea just do your part, and didn't you see where you go? We're running out of time here. I want to make sure that Danny has your ability time to talk about Joe Burrow. Oh where the same time next big old Ella, gi me the same time next week. Listen, listen, let me tell you something. Joe Burrow felt the disrespect of being snub from the Pro Bowl.
Justin Herbert's over here being listen starter, like, what are we talking about? Joe Burrow goes out, he says, hold my bed. All right, y'all think this dude is better than me. I'm going out of five hundred listen to five hundred and twenty five yards of passing on these
dudes with four touchdowns. I don't want to hear nothing about it, right because Justin Herbert had a chance to go out maybe the same thing, and just the Texas who are the same position as a Washington football team, and they go out there and lose, they might even go to the playoffs. Meanwhile, Joe Burrow has this is what seed Newey the number one seed in his division? What are we talking about? I don't want to hear
anything else about Justin Herbert. It's the Joe Burrow Show, and they are rolling, They're gonna be in the playoffs, and Justin Herbert gonna be sitting at home waiting to go to the Pro Bowl. But we alway had the man had he had a stellar week. I get you that he had a stellar performance against a team that's probably more depleted than the Washington Redskins. Look I'm doing or Washington football team. I'm sorry, I'm done with this man.
I can't believe y'all to the whole end of the statement on Joe Burrow Man and then you expect Herbert by telling the text the starter on the Pro Bowl roster detects like that the Texans are missing just as many players as the Washington football team and the Baltimore Ravens. They didn't have anybody. Yeah, he had eight before? Well one week, who's been better? The whole time? You see one week? Who had a place? Search? Wow, I just
want to know who's been better? First place? Can better? Church? Church? Take that? Just take the l for the week. Ain't nobody listening to you. You over there on the fence so where we're Sweden, I ain't try to hear that about what you got to say? Who who's better? Statistically? So far this season, Joe Burrow is in first place in his division on the way. I know I said I said that, Joe Burrow. I've been telling you all the season that Joe Burrow is better than Justin Herbert,
I believe. And he should also still be in the running for a comeback Play of the Year. And Joe and Justin Herbert can gonna take that promo, fan vote and all the other stuff with him. While Joe Burrow is getting ready to go to the playoffs, we're trying to make a deep run. We're gonna see We're gonna see you man. That is that is our time here
for the players. I can't believe you do york In cow I can't believe you'll do it again Tomorrow, twelve thirty right here on Dallas Cowboys dot Com d This has been a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com and the Dallas Cowboys for FO
