You guys had a more to me because I was down on the defense man, I was starting to see jokes on me, right, jokes on me. I was with you on that what I found disturbing. And you all let me know. The fan base is moaning and grown in about a twenty one to six win, and here are the Cowboys now the number two seed in the NFC. How is that though?

Because I think of the same record as the Bucks, and the Bucks beat them, right, yeah, but we were undefeated in the division. That's how it goes. Okay. So so I just want to know your opinion. You guys played this game. You know what it is to win ten football games and understand how hard it is to do. I don't. Yeah, I'm an eight. I'm a max eight guy. Three times a night, night and three times three times

ten plus win, you know what I mean? Just saying, well, well, y'all, let's see you go ahead and give it your opinion. You can join in for kicks. Okay, listen. It's hard to do because I've never done it. But what I do know is when your defense is playing the way that is playing right, that's something that you can lean on. And nobody expected the defensive plate as well. So you when you start to see the offensive play uh kind of beloaded thirty point range, you're like, oh man, we're

in trouble. But as long as you have a defense and a running game and you can control the clock, you're gonna be able to win. And that's what we're gonna need to do. And I think we've been able to see that uh this game and hopefully moving forward. But that's the type of game that we need to play to get us over ten wins. It's hard to win games in the league. Look as Tampa Bay. They go out there last night and they score zero against the Saints. It's hard to win. So winning team games

in the NFL it's hard. So I don't understand the fans, and I don't think we played as well we won the game. What's going on? It is? You know, for the fans, it's it's it's tough because you know, they want to see the whole you know, the kind of the sex appeal to the game. You know, they want to see the forty points. You know, we beat the

crap out of them. They want to go to work the next day with the bragging rights, messing with their friends, you know, to given the cowboys, you know, everything they deserve. And I think you can't. You can't, you can't. You can't lose focus on a win, you know, a win in the NFL in December, Yeah, especially in December. That is that is that is hard to do. And any game, any game you win. I mean as as as a former player, you know, it's it's hard to go out

there on Sunday. And I don't know if that you know, I'm a Floridable. I don't know what the weather was like out there, you know, New York. It looked a little chilly, anything anything under you know, forty to me, I'm putting you know, I know some of these offensive cold. It snows up here time out from the game. But yeah, anytime you get a win, you gotta be happy with it, you know, for the fans. Sorry, it wasn't you know, the you know, forty two point win, but twenty one

to six will take it. Put it in the W column. You definitely write about that, Ludy. I mean winning December. It is good. Whether it's you know, blowing him out by forty or the defense is doing whatever it's doing offense doing. You gotta win in December towards the end of the season. So accounts as a dub. But I will say this, man, I can see where the fans are coming from a little bit because to me, right now, this team looks like a first round exit, the one

and done. To me, I'm gonna be honest with you, it looks like a one and done. And the defense is balling. Don't get me wrong, They're playing out of control right now. Taking a football away to Marcus Lawrence is punching like Peanut Tilman did with Chicago. I mean, he's doing a great job. The secondary is taking the ball away. But a heart back to what I said last week, when we get to the playoffs, We're not gonna be playing against Mike Lennon. We're not gonna be

playing against Taylor Heineke, Taysom Hill, Derek Carr. Yeah you are who, Yeah, you are who? We're gonna play who right now as the number two, see you'd be facing it. SAT's not gonnake the playofs. I'm gonna tell you right now, the Saints ain't making a playoff. Okay, all right, So we won one game, we win a wild card game, we're gonna throw cookies in the parade about that. You wanted to do that last year we were seven games. Let me tell you this before y'all trying to pickuree.

last night. If you have defense travels. So the fact that we went on the road yesterday and beat New York in New York and we had another stellar performance. So it's not a fluke. It's not we're not getting lucky. There's three straight games with four plus turnout with four tall. So so what I'm saying, So when when as long as you can depend on that, right the New Orleans Saints was able to depend on that against Tom Brady. They've been able to depend on that for like the

last four games, you know what I'm saying. So I think the game changes when you're able to lean on some other than we we gotta go out here and score every time, Just like we played against Kansas City. Kansas City, all of a sudden, it was like a great team. We were shedding them down and the defense was able to keep us in the game. So I think with the way we're playing now and then killing more seeing that we should run the ball a little

bit more to control the clock. I think that is the recipe for if your office is at playing as well, you can move through the playoffs with that type of play style. Well, but I think it's interesting, you know that you say, you know, you're talking about a successful season, and a successful season is holding the trophy out at the end of the year. It's the goal, that's the goal,

you know. I think for everybody around the league, whoever strapping the helmet on, putting those pads on, a successful season is you know, being up there on that stage holding that Lombardi Trophy and you know, I think, you know, I wore my full moon shirt, you know, an honor in honor of you know, our defense. I don't know, I don't know. I don't know if it's the if it's a full moon or you know, it's like something

something they got off the water. Boy, what they're putting in the water down there, and you know, you know, Dallas, Texas and say it again, man, you know, because they four turnovers and I think what was the stat on fourth down for the Giants. start to look at the conference record. Dallas is eight and one in the conference, Green Bay's eight and two. Then the Bucks are six and four, Arizona six and four, LA is six and three, the Niners are six and five. So very interesting to see exactly how the rest of this thing goes here. By the way, um, and this is why I was talking about the fan base. You're mad.

You want to look around the league. Tampa Bay not only did they lose to a team, did the Cowboys beat Tampa Bay now has lost Leonard Fournette for the next one or two weeks because he's got a hamstring entry that's gonna be huge too. He started on the team in receptions right now. And yeah, Chris Scottwin is gonna miss the rest of the regular season with the MCLs frame, so that means they got to bring Antonio Brown boom. He's coming back and they're gonna have to

feed him. Well, I mean, even with that, then you look at a team like Green Bay. So they go out yesterday with without Lamar Jackson for the Ravens and they went by one one because the man goes for two again, you know what I'm saying. So you you this far from saying it's pretty because you had thirty one points. But it wasn't. It wasn't the win that you thought it was gonna be without Lamar Jackson. So when we say it's hard to win in the league, look at the Lions. Look at the Lions. They go

out there and stop a hole in Arizona's big hole. Yes, so as Arizona, how hard it is to win the game, and they dropped the last they did. They did. So that's why I keep coming back to favor what you moaning, And I mean, polks are out here losing games, and then I go back to so you're down. I'm talking about three straight December road wins for the Cowboys here. Okay, that's really impressive. People were moaning about the Saints game. Yeah, they didn't do this, they didn't do that offense still

is all saw what the Saints just did. I don't think it was appreciation for I don't even think it was an appreciation for the New England victory rookie quarterback. Now you're sitting back, you look at how good the team is. So I just think, just take these victories, you got ten of them, be happy and give Mike McCarthy credit as a head coach for UM putting together.

I think a staff that was able to come through through COVID A Mike McCarthy being a head coach smart enough to take Dan Quinn go do what you do, Go get these guys in the right position here. I think he's run a really good year. He's not gonna win Coach of the Year, but I think he's run a really good program in a challenging football year. And and I just I just I just don't understand the

fan base so well listening. And also if you start looking at some of the losses that we have and looking at the way the defenses that those teams brought into that game, it's actually looking it's like when the offense not playing well, these defenses that we've played have been outstanding. Look at the New Orleans game, How close the game was. It like Man's New Orleans would takes some deal man. They go out there and give Tom Brady zero. They say he been shut out. So it's

like two thousands. Think about Denver's defense. Denver has a defense that could match up with anyone. All of a sudden, Kansas City's defense is looking like a top five defense because they've been rolling every since we've played them. So it's not our offense needs to play better, but we haven't been playing against you know, the low level defensive teams, all right. We we played against some talent of defensive coordinators who've been able to bring to paint against us,

and for some of those teams, we've got dubs. But I think that's gonna be a learning experience for killing Moore and hopefully when we get to the playoffs, we'll have a recipe for success against those teams. All right. Your thoughts on the play of one young young Coda Rain Prescott Rain, because that's what it's raind of coding. No, But you know, I think Dak played better than he's

had these past couple of weeks. He looked like he had a little bit more presence out there, a little bit more connection with those receivers. Um. There was a lot of drop still if we look at his CD, I think he had what three four drops out there. So to me, as far as Dak putting the ball where it needs to be, I think he did a

a pretty good job of that. But overall, it's just I don't know what it is because I didn't play the quarterback position, but it's just something that's a little bit off, Like on that strip SYC we saw or when CD had to block, he stepped up a little bit. You would have thought he knew he didn't have that much time to kind of reload and go ahead and chunk it deep, but just didn't have that awareness around him.

And we're used to seeing Dak have great pocket presents, break great awareness, doesn't put the ball in harm's way. But this is multiple games now where he's turning the football over, whether it's interception or fumbling the ball, and I'm not quite sure what it is, but he's just not I don't know what word to describe it, but he's just not what we've seen in the past. And hopefully he's able to regain that as the weeks go on. But I do feel like overall he has played better

than he did the previous what five or six games. Well, I think you know, you look at the quarterback position. I've always you know, tried to break it down at every level. You know, if there's if there's no turnovers in that column you're looking, you're giving your team a chance to win. Ye And you know, we all know Dak's a good quarterback back in this league. You're gonna get this man credit you know, he is a good

quarterback in this league. But I think as you move from the beginning of the season to the end of the season, these games start to mean a little more. And one of the things I saw, you know, as a player, I've always I've always tried to keep the pressure down, keep the tensions level down. But as you go to these games that matter more and more, you kind of see the tension of the team start to build up, and I think it's something you gotta you can't be. You can't go out there scared to make

a mistake. This is what I've always thought as a player, because if you go out there scared to make a mistake, ten times out of ten, you're gonna mess up, and you're gonna you're gonna look you're gonna make yourself look look crazy out there. So I think one of the things that that dad needs to do, and the whole team honest just needs to remind themselves, is like, hey,

we're good football team. We're here for a reason, and let's just play with the kids spear we started with, you know in September, and everything will be all right. Just calm down, go out there and do what you need to do. I know your coach us yeah, ye see, one day I'm trying to get into coach. What would I tell my quarter listen here, son, what would you call you for? Son? Kid? I go sun, Listen to that son calluna slap. Just waiting to say, this is what I will say about that. Okay. I think that

um at the beginning of the season. I don't know if it's if subconscious or not, if he's aware of it, but I think at the beginning of the season, the offense knew that they had to They believe that they had to carry this team. They believe that they had to score dirty plus in order for us to be

a successful team. And then you start seeing the defense roll and you're like, man, I got a chance to take some other shots, to be a little bit more risky with the ball because I believe that my defense can give us these stops and still keep us in the game. And then all of a sudden that that started snowballing a little bit. He started taking a little bit more risk. We've seen some receivers drop some passes and the defense has kept have been able to keep

us in the game. So you I think you've seen it kind of like a lax of daisical type of approach from some of these guys, because ceedee, lamb, you're number one B receiver, whatever you want to call them, shouldn't be out there dropping those type of balls. Even we had that game where Tony Paula was dropping balls in AMERICU, but it dropped the pass. You just see kind of lack of concentration from the offensive side. And I think at the middle of the season that's a

good time to do that. The end of the season, it's time for Doc to catch fire and start playing a little bit better. And I like the way that we were able to run the ball that we ran about twenty eight times. We ran about twenty eight times, and we controlled the game. We didn't put it in the Dack hands and make him have to score thirty or four. Their defense played just how he was supposed

to play. Give them extra possessions, hit the field goals when you need them, and just continue to extend the score. And I think that is our rest of the people whinning. We do not need to have that out there throwing the ball fifty times in order for us to win. I think this is this is the way to do it. So I think he's coming out of the slump. I think the end of the season is gonna pay dividends for us. We played against New York, we got Washington coming up with possible double g uh, and then we

will have that real test against Arizona. I think that will show up for that game. How he played at the beginning of see big one. Do you guys think you know, because I'm all about highlight plays. You know, you love seeing it. It looks good and it's great to see it on ESPN, But at what point do you think it's the outside world, you know, affecting your thoughts on it, Like, you know, man, I gotta I gotta throw this ball so I could get the highlight.

At what point do you just, you know, say, hey, look, I'm taking what this defense gives me. I know it might not be pretty, but you know, I'm talking about the fans earlier. You know, y'all, y'all just go after enjoy it. That's progression you're gonna have to go through because as we see the time, bradies of the world, he's patient. He takes that little five, y'all, that little three yard dump off. Let us let us play makers

make plays in space. And I think the same thing that that that's going through we've seen earlier from my Homes. Holmes was pressing, I gotta make this long through. I gotta continue to be this elite quarterback to Sean that I have all the arm strengthen the world. But as he realized as a season going on, he's like, hey man, this is just dumping off to these guys here and there. I don't have to throw for three hundred and thirty

yards each and every game. So I think my Homes went through that progression and maybe not sure one hundred percent on it, but maybe Dad's going through that same progression as well, where he's trying to push and push and realize that he had that he doesn't have to be all this offense needs. Jill, what are you seeing? Because you you played with Daki, also played some centers, so you know him very well. What are you seeing

right now? Well, just like I said earlier, I think I think he's putting putting too much pressure on himself. I really do. I think he's he's putting too much pressure on himself to make these kind of plays. And I think, you know just taking it back to the to the human level. You know, these these emotions that you get during the game. You know, when you throw a big pass down the field, you hear the roar

of the crowd, that that becomes addicting. Now you know, as a player, you know you love to hear that. I mean, it's it's it's something that just it ignites you on a different level as a player. But but knowing Dak and knowing how hard he works, he I think he's gonna be just fine. You know, this man comes in, you know, comes to work every day with

a determination like no other. And I've always said this, you know, even even when you know we were teammates, if Dak Prescott's on that field, he's giving you a chance to win a football he is giving you a chance to win a football game. And you know, my advice to him would be what I just said, you know, finding that kid's spirit again, that you that you were playing with earlier in the year. Don't put that much pressure on yourself. The outside world's already gonna do it

to you. Fans are gonna do it to you, the coaches are definitely gonna do it to you. Just go out there and have fun. Man, have fun. Throw the ball. Let the chips fallward. Who's the number one guy. They did not get right exactly in the red zone. Ain't the only thing that on third down this team

is struggling. I mean the last three games, we don't count this this New York game, the last three games this team has been twelve or forty four on third down. That's twenty seven percent on the money down. You're not gonna win games against good or playoff teams if you're putting up numbers like that in the red zone. Hand on third down, now, we did running football a little bit better. I feel like, you know, Zeke and Polo,

that combination did a good job. But to me, offensively, we gotta find some type of rhythm, something to get to extend the drive a little bit just to get your defense a little bit of rest over there. Now. The defense did a great job of creating short fields for the offense yesterday and hopefully that can continue. But to me, we gotta find some type of chemistry with this offense going forward. Right. I think, just like we spoke about earlier, you gotta, you gotta, you gotta utilize

all your players. Yeah, you can't. You can't. You can't have just one bag to go to. You gotta you gotta find a way to get your best players in a one on one situation, you know. And as a as a coach, you know, you gotta be able to rely on players and be like, hey, look it's on you. You gotta go beat this guy, you know, And then you know, as a coach, you put your player in that situation. You know, I'm a firm belier. Coaches gotta

call plays and players gotta go make plays. So when you put your guys in that situation, you know, they gotta go make the play, but you gotta give them the opportunity first. And you know, I think we live in this day and age on offense where everything has to be cute. You know, we have to play this cute football game. I gotta show you. I gotta show you that I can get them open, right, And it's like, n send your best player out there. You know, it's

kind of like, you know, who is that? What's the movie? Troy? This guy out there, go win, go win this matchup, and you gotta you gotta trust your guys to do that. And I think when you when as a player, you you tell me you're gonna put me in that situation, You're gonna highlight me. I think it gives you. It gives you that, you know, that confidence you put your shoulder back. It's like, all right, yeah, coach is feeling me. Folks, trust me, So I'm gonna go out here and win

this thing. So I think it definitely comes on. You know, it's a it's a player and coach bond that you gotta you gotta, you gotta get that connection, especially going into the playoffs. You gotta have him. Well, you gotta think, you gotta think about it this way. You gotta starry to be on the mark Cooper again. But he comes into the season and says, hey, I want to show

people that I'm the number one guy. Give him the opportunity to do that, right, Like you said, who who's our who's if you're scheming against us right on defense and we get into the red zone, who are you scheming against? Like what like are you saying, hey man, we gotta stop this guy or that guy? This who?

We don't have an identity in the red zone, right, you should have to focus on one of these people, because we should have a guy like Adam Feeling, a guy like Somebody's like, man, when that dude getting a rizone, he's a monster. We haven't done that. The perfect thing to do is be sitting the room with dan Quinn, right because if you look on our defense, dan Quinn gives his players an opportunity to get it one on

ones and say you go beat this guy. And I think that's the between our offense and our defense at this moment. Hey man, dan quinsay, hey, you go out there. My defense. My my guys are better than yours, and we're gonna put them in a situation. We're done have to be tricky dickie all around. He's literally gonna be I'm going to create one on ones and see if Michael Parsons can beat you. If d law can beat you.

Let's do that on offense. Let's figure out the way to say, hey man, if it's gonna be Ceedee lamb, he's gonna catch the favor Rocks. If it's if it's gonna be Mark Cooper, he's gonna do one on one. He's gonna run the back shoulder, he's gonna run the slants. Let's figure out the way to get that type of stuff done versus Hey man, all right, we're gonna run. I don't want to get into the route concepts, but we're gonna run this specific concept every time we get

into the zone. And the teams are like, all right, run exactly running. And I think too, you know, looking at you know from a you know, you got your your call sheet. You look at it early on in the season. Man, you know you're calling these screens. You know you're not just you know, handing the ball off to Zeke. You gotta you gotta get all your players involved. And as an offensive linement, I loved I love doing because it was it was a way to highlight our

our you know ability. really take us deep into the playoffs. You get four turnovers. This is three games straight, bro from the four turnovers. It's not easy to do, and we went through so many years of not being able to get a turnover exactly. And on that interior d line, I got a four man rotation like you got Nevill Gallamore, you got Carlos Watkins who was playing well. Then you got you know, Dicky Zua and Tristan Hilda who didn't even play yesterday. I mean it's gonna be tough. You can speak to it.

I mean, it's it's it's something too. You know, I played a little defensive high school. But something I saw yesterday is you break the game down to those its simplest forms. And the way these guys run to the football, I mean they get after it. You know, you always hear as a player, good things happen when you're around the football. And I mean you can clear to see it with the turnovers, the battle balls in the air. You know, you can clearly see it. Man. These guys

are running to the football. Man. They are playing with an effort that is just it's it's unmatched. And as an offense, man, if you don't come in and match that effort, it's gonna be a long day for And I'm a big fan, you know, I love loving basketball. You know, when she's sitting up there, you know, look offense sales tickets, defense wins games. They have a tone setter at every level of defense. Yeah, literally, a tone setter.
