The following is a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club.
Cowboys.
This is the Players Lounge broadcasting live from Dallas Cowboys World headquarters at the Star. Now your hosts Barry Church, Danny McCrae, Heckma Harrison, and New He scruggs.
Players Lounge Thursday. Let's ripen.
Yes, indeed, Danny McCrae, heckm Harrison, Barry Church, I am New He scrugs.
Cowboys Eagles is going down. They are.
It's open locker room right now. Ceedee Lamb is talking at passed. Dak Prescott coming down here to the podcast studio. He will talk to Dave Brian Schottenheimer says he has spoken to Mike mc arthy, spoke to him yesterday, also spoke to him today.
So he says it's all full go all right.
Expects Mike to be on the sideline call and play, so says everything's ready to go. Dak Prescott said yesterday they had already basically put the game playing in.
So they're ready rock, They're ready to roll.
So that's the best dudes all day. I mean, because you know this offensive is rolling. But a lot of it has to do when you know, Big MIC's on the sidelines, you know, dealing them out out there. So with him back on the sidelines hopefully on Sunday, has got to be huge news.
Are you super clean? I appreciate that. Testify again earlier, you know something earlier. You know, I got that Toledo Blue midnight.
Without ripping, ripping, you know, outside the university. But when it comes to a pocket ripper here, good recognized. I appreciate that.
You know, yeah, shout out the big Mic. You look good, you look good. So thank so.
Carthy is healing from the surgery just fine, and uh hekma. They expect him to be okay, a little discomfort. You spoke about having the surgery.
But he'd ready to go, man, I would expect for Mike to be ready to go.
I mean, everybody know what time it is. Why would you miss this?
If anything, the only thing I'm worried about is is Mike gonna be upstairs? That he's gonna be downstairs. That's the only things that I'm worried about. What and what vantage point is he gonna be watching the game from He will be.
On the sidelines, He'll be at work, tomorrow. He's going to be here at the start tomorrow, is doing zoom meetings talking to people, so he will be on the sidelines tomorrow. It's just as you went through discomfort. That's all it's really gonna be.
Is it risky because like when you did George, like because somebody runs off the sideline, like.
We see this issue because it is stitches. Well, I don't know how what he did.
Mine was I.
Did have stitches, so they did tell me to lay it down for a few days, make sure I didn't do any string you what's activity stuff like that? This is the NFL, and they got a lot of different stuff than the doctor that I went to. Is I wasn't with the Cowboys at the time. I don't know what type of special treatment Big Mike got. I see Aaron Rodgers out here. We're doing what he doing. So Mike doinges Mike ready security in front of me on the sidelight.
They all over here taking all the hits. Cable gonna be right next to Mike. So we had dom last week and now we got Dohn versus Cable at halftime. I'm Mayor Ford, I got my money. Okay, you push anybody push Jaylen hurt for what heck wants him in the game again the hotel. So that's the biggest.
The biggest news today is that the head coaches is progressing just fine and expect him to be there when they take on the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday night, and this is a game they have to get see. Lamb spoke about the guys on the team while you know, Mike, it's been a way just to keep on doing what you're doing. I did ask Brian Schottenheimer, who filled in for Mike McCarthy today, about the penalty situation and he acknowledged, says, you know, post snap things happen, but the pre snap
where they've got to improve on. And ed Warder of ESPN asked a question I was going to ask him, but he hit it first and did an eloquent job in asking.
It was about Terren Steele.
They still got worked over the man, and Shottenheimer said, I'm not gonna give away you know some things that we did, but we looked at it and we feel we.
Feel we have some confidence to steal.
And he says, obviously there could be times when linemen are gonna be in one on one situations, but they feel like they have a plan to to try and negate the floodst.
Listen, and this is what this happens all the time with players. Okay, you go out there and then you get the proof the time and consistency. Right, that's what Terrence Still gave us, right, and that's why he ended
up getting paid. And then you go out and you have a rough couple goals in and then we forget that he's coming off acl injury, he trying to get back on and then all of a sudden, the guy across from him may have just had a really good game, right, or you were slipping all right, but it's the time proof of consistency would tell us that nine times out of ten, Terce still is going to go out there and he's going to be a serviceable tackle with the tackle that we watched him become after he had the
bad season when Nolan in them was here. So I can chalk it up to a bad game until proof time and consistency says, hey, this is a pattern of every time we get against a certain caliber of defensive lineman, this same performance comes out. And I don't think that's been the case so far. With Terran Steel. Nobody forgot. Yeah, nobody forgot. It's just you don't care. You see a guy getting beat, and it's a difference between getting beat and then getting beat like a drum.
It was getting beat like a drum, and.
You were sitting there going all right at this some point, help him, yo, Chip, do something. But Sweats, I mean, here is this guy is doing that to everybody. His jump off the ball is impeccable, and they know exactly whether to line him up. And I mean, look, the play calling was still good. You were still in the position to win the game even with all of that going on. And I would say that the offensive line since Philly has been playing a hell of a lot
better in that department. Okay, but you know what they present. They present a problem up front. And I believe that this offensive line, with the momentum that they have coming into this game, especially at home, I expect for them. Man, we need to give them a big dose of the running game. And that to me, stops a guy like that from jumping and getting up the field. What do you say rushing the pass is or what privilege you earn that right? And you saw versus the forty nine
is what they were doing. Once they started running the ball. That slowed all of that down. Now guys are now having to start thinking about what's coming behind me, what's happening in the running game. But when you can pin your ears back and come after a guy, then letk it takes all the mystery out of it.
Yeah, it's all about adjustment.
I mean, that's what we saw last game when that was when these two teams went together. You know, Philly came out in the second half and adjusted and the Cowboys didn't, and they left some guys on the island like Terren Steel to go ahead and get beat out there. But what I want to know from y'all is if when you add another guy in for chipping, tight ends, running backs, whatever the case may be, will that slow
down your explosiveness of your offense? Because if you look at it, this team loves to get when they're in the eleven personnel, they love to get everybody out, all three wide receivers, a tight end. They even got you know, Poler coming out here and there. Will that slow down the production? Will that you know, force Dak to kind of hold the ball a little bit more and gain it for that defensive line on the other side of
the ball. I don't know, because when they have their most success, it's when all these guys are getting out Bergs holding the middle. These guys are hitting you know, intermediate routes, and that's a tough thing to do when you when you got people in there kind of chipping.
The answer, the answer to that question for me is get your guy Brandon Cooks involved in the game, right, because it's harder for you for the defense to stop you from getting those explosive plays when you have more than one guy that's involved in the in the explosive play game, right, Ceedee Lamb at that in the last game was our only guy who was there to give you exposive plays out you know, in terms of vide receivers.
If you get a guy like Brandon Cooks involved, whoever it is right, Like I know, the Brandon Cooks thing has been the thing for me. I don't care if you can get somebody else involved in the game where they're making an impact on the game. Tobert how you got the pass interference of last game. If you can make the defense respect somebody else besides Ceedee Lamb, then you have an opportunity to bring a guy in and say, Okay, you're gonna chip because these other these other guys are
still getting off. But if you don't, and it's just ceedee lamb. And then now you also have to keep a guy in. Now you put yourself in a predicament where the defense can dictate to you what what you're gonna have to where you're gonna throw a ball at We gotta put Fergie to work. We gotta put Ferguson to work. And I think with the way that I mean, like I'm comparing Shannahan at his offensive play call into
what we do. And all I'm saying is I started seeing some of those screens that we had for Ferguson, like he was rip, like the yak yah was incredible. And I think if you get a guy like that on a delayed screen or something like that, that may give the impression, hey, I'm running, then boom right over the top, just something to make him think about slowing that pass rush down. And you're tightening. You're seeing Brandon Cooks. I'm saying my tight end being able to at least
give the impression that I'm chipping you. And then releasing out, you know, to catch passes. So what do y'all think about the ring game?
Though?
As we're talking right, because I know we keep bringing up like, man, you gotta be able to run the ball against this team and it will help you do X, Y and Z. Do you think that this is the game where we play against the defense where they're.
Good at stopping to run.
All right, But we go in there with our offensive line and we feel comfortable enough to say, hey, Tony Pollard, this is the game when you get ten million dollars and we did the franchise tam let go to Zeke. This is the type of game where you get it and you say, we expect you to have the ninety seven or one hundred yards.
Do you think that is a possibility this week? It has to be.
I think when you go with this offense and you going against a team like Philadelphia, you gotta be balanced. Even if it's just Pollard and Rico getting three yards in a cloud of dust, you know they may only end up twenty attempts for you know, sixty yards only averaging three yards of carry. But if you go in there and that defense has to respect that, now, I assume you know, one of these new linebackers are going to go in there shack and all you know, one
of those two guys are gonna be in there. If they're getting peppered with that run, they're gonna start biting up a little bit. And I know that's what Dak
Prescott is really good as that play action passed. So to me, even if it's not producing great numbers, you gotta be consistent with the ground game just to keep that that defense honest, because we all see when you allow them to pend their ears back, they're getting After Dak Prescott, he was able to use his legs and get out of a lot of crazy situations in there and make plays, but eventually it caught up to him.
So to me, you gotta have that balance in there or that defensive line is gonna pin their ears back.
Man.
First, first, what five six games of the year you were anticipating because Mike was the play call of that he was gonna run the ball and he did to a fault and then it was just like, oh, tyner, yo, we gotta start doing something different. Dak started, you know, going back and shotgun. There are very few times that they use TP and like the pistol formation, which I think may benefit him just giving him that that uh,
that distance. But you come down to see I mean, you answered your own question, because yeah, you at some point your running game has to be significant in salt away games, especially when you get a lead.
Now, I don't care. I'm gonna tell I don't care.
You throw it on first throw on look, put the ball in number four his hands and allow him.
I know it's something you've been talking about. Do we go to that? Do we put the ball in his hands?
Do?
But you've got to You've got to rely on your quarterback to make the right decisions, but also on your offensive play caller to put you in the right positions because I think San Francs excuse me, I think the Philly is going to try and take away those big plays. They're gonna try and take CD away. And we've been asking that question. What do you do when CD has a double team? What do you do when they're trying to bracket these guys off? Man, you gotta find a way to get it going.
Use the pass to set up to run. Okay, that's that's what you should do. I mean the forty nine ers use the run to set up their pass. But you're you're, you're different, and you're they've got a bad defensive backfield.
Shit did change, though? When did that change? When you started saying setting up the run with the pass? When did that change?
You say, probably around that bye week, you know, and they started looking at d NCD's like, I don't have the ball, and then we talked more about Cooks. I mean, it was just kind of evident that let's flip this thing there, and Tony's not gonna make the Pro Bowl this year.
You know, he's not gonna follow that up here.
And I don't think that's anything that I look on him and say he can't play anymore, he fell off any kind of have people looked at Zeke, But I just think the strength of this team is Dak pushing the ball down the field, but use that pass to set up the run. I mean, for years, that's what Bill Walsh did with the forty nine ers and how he operated. So I think that's just what they do what they do here. And Mike's never been a big run guy, and you just go back in his history,
he's about throwing the ball. So do what you do but use it to set up that run. I think when you talked about getting Tony Pollard out why and on some.
Screen gaate just get him outside.
Let Tony do some of those things that made him the Pro Bowl running back last year versus let Rico doubt will do it.
Let Tony get out here. And we haven't spoke.
A whole lot about those big Georgia offensive Lindman Philly took. Yeah, defensive blind. They they they've had some moments, and they've had some moments. You've been able to, you know, get some things done against them, but that that back end is bad, and so you got to figure out how do you get to that back end to set up that set up that use that pass, set up that run.
I like to talk about Ferguson here. At some point in time, if Terrence Steele can't get it done, they're gonna need to put schoolmacher over there and help him block. By the way, Sean McEwan put on I r ankle, don't know what happened, but uh.
He Hindy shot coming back? Which one? Which one? That's man? Let me do that. The X Files music playing right now.
If you do you do you still get your your check cutting half.
That's how it was when when when we was first you was like, that's a.
I don't know you got paid. I don't know check cut. He don't even know what.
You don't even know.
Get off the sun right, you know the reason you don't know was gone.
So, man, MacCarthy have a service? Who who who told me you? Hey, hey hey, it's a little came up.
To remember when the dudes, when the up temple offense first came in into the league, calling them and dudes had to get that sign from the from the sideline to be like, oh yeah, like you see six dudes, we need you to do you services.
Take a fall damn, just like you know you pull them out the weight room. How does a conversation like that go?
Man, Oh, that's gotta be tough, because especially if you if nothing's really bothering, I don't know.
I'm gonna say something really wrong with him, because I don't even want to know. I'm gonna say.
I'm gonna say something really wrong with him, and it happenstance that it just happened at that time. But I do want to ask a question about Tony poul because I remember we had. We had a conversation about CD lamb in the thirteen hundred yards and how many catches and stuff I want to know for look from where Tony poll is right now, all right, expectation for when you finished Week eighteen, all right, what is a successful season for Tony poler based on what happened last year?
Where you say, Okay, Tony Paula's gonna be the guy. Okay, we expect to have all these supposed to plays, especially when he comes back, because when you were playing San Francisco and Tony Paula went out, everything changed, right, So your expectation and your thoughts to the potential of what the office could be based off what.
You were seeing in that San frand game.
I'm looking at Tony paul and saying I'm looking at it twelve thirteen yard like all.
Purpose, Let's take a break to come back, just dive into what would we consider a successful season for Tony Pollard, knowing at this point in time the Pro Bowls most likely out of reach for him. Will do that with Danny McCrae, Heck Maharrison, Barry Church, I'm new he scruts the play signs bout to you by Tostitos on Dallascowboys dot com radio.

How you get this number?
The parents parents that I had to call call last year to tell them that their son was sick or something. And then they called me this year like they're too late, like we're not friends calling my personal.
Who is this? Hit me in get the hood. No, we can't take care of you. Sorry, Merry Christmas. That's right right.
They got rules and regulations on these things, man. We just can't just give it to everybody call all of a sudden.
What's going on? Man? At least the kids come in and go in the standing room only section.
They can run off. You ain't got no rich band, you can't come. Sorry, So it's always signed up. Man, that'skyboy dot com slag. You can't think all right?
They get the picture with you, yeah, yeah, whatever they want for all the band's pictures.
Santa come in, Santa not come rowdy be there they do. They do Santa at the start. You did the read for that too, Okay, they over there s that Santa at the start.
We had a t T stadium.
You know what I told you, manbout five Santa's makes a whole lot of money on the met Santas up there. Their kids won't know playing louds brought to Tisch.
Working out, working out. They do it them all. They do it the mall, come on, man, Tony Pollard.
Looking here at just the numbers right now on NFL dot com, Tony Pollard ranks ninth in rushing with seven nd than thirty seven yards. He's got an average of
four point one, and he has scored five touchdowns. Your leader in rushing is Christian McCaffrey one thousand and thirty two yards, followed by Derreck Henry of Tennessee, Brihi Moster's third, DeAndre Swift the Philadelphia's fourth, Isaiah Pacheco of the Chiefs is fifth, Josh Jacobs to the Raiders is sixth, Travis at M is tied for six, B John Robinson is tied its eighth, and then Tony Pollard is nine right there.
So then after that is James Cook, Zach Box, Zach Moss, David Montgomery, Saquon Barkley, Joe Mixon at fourteen, and Kyron Williams over at fifteen.
That's your your top fifteen rushers in the nflright now.
Feels so bad for man, he feels bad grace on my fantasy take, But.
How would you take it? Why would you take that improved?
I think they'd be running read option a lot you know, take go ahead, a good year lesson.
I got that tape. Everybody look at tall, Okay, what they doing now?
And then of course then there's this thing called expectations on your boy, and I saw him, I was like passing in not buying that.
Well for Tony Pollard, Uh no, No, for Tony Poller coming into the season, I mean I was expecting Tony Pollard to have at least eleven eleven hundred yards rushing. Then I expected him to be a lot more involved in the past game, to give him an additional three three fifty, all right. So so where he's at now, it's not where I expected to be, especially with how heavy of a run team we were at the beginning
of the season. But I do think there's an opportunity for that to be turned around, right because I think when you go into the season that's saying he's coming off injury. Want to make sure he's healthy and the most important part of the season. So hopefully as you move further into these this this tough stretch that we're about to play in, Tony Poller becomes more very focal point, not oversed, but he becomes a part of the game to where you know, okay, listen, and we have to
go on the road to play a playoff game. Our running game is going to be serviceable at least to keep us from having to throw the ball fifty times if we in bad weather or something like that. So hopefully, you know, Tony Poup does end up with about twelve twelve hundred yards rush purpose twelve Yeah.
Can you get another five? Have to go great?
Yeah, listen, eleven hundred. You know, I just want to I just want to see a little bit more. I want to see it because we expected it, because that's what we saw from Tony, Like this is an explosive guy. Zeke holding him back a little bit is what people were saying, while we give it a little and you know, we just haven't seen it. So hopefully he's fresh going into the end of the season and we start to see that that that different type of speed that we saw last season.
So he's got nine hundred totally at like nine eighty five combined right now. But I think you have to go back into the cost ten million dollars and this is what you get. This is not ten million dollars, and that's that's let's just be honest, Okay, for ten million dollars, you're expecting a better production and you're looking for a guy to have another Pro Bowl season. That didn't happen, And in some ways there's a gift in the.
Curse for the Cowboys.
This clearly opens the door for you to bring it back. You can bring Tony Plar back, and you can bring it back at a price that it's much lower because nobody's going to pay Tony part ten million dollars in the NFL. No, nobody's going to do that. But clearly he has a role here. They like him here, He's been here for a while. So in some ways, this is the gift in the curse. Hey, the gift the player could still be available to you.
You're going to have a double digit win season.
He's comfortable here, so there could be the ability to get a long term deal done with Tony Poler at your price.
Oh you go high let on killn Look, well he gonna do.
But you do know he's gonna be somewhere because that's how it works. Look my thing with him right now at this point the season space actually with the emergence of CD Lamb and Brandon Cooks, in this offense and the lack of production from Michael Gallup, you needed their third piece, and Ferguson has kind of given you that. He's been in the bright spot. But also, man, the way that we use TP you guys have talked about it,
at give him some of those outside runs. Quit trying to get in between tacks and get his head buss. Let this guy do what he does. Right, It's we're at the point where it's like, all right, the scheme that we're using him in is very important. He's a better receiver then a lot of people give him credit for. So look if the numbers as a rusher doesn't add up at the end of the year, so let's say he does as a thousand, but over these next five and let's say in the playoffs he's given you that
forty yards a game. On that fifty sixty yards a game. Dude, that is valuable to this offense. Uh, you said it is valuable game If he could do that, If that's his production in the receiving, Oh, I'm talking about that. Okay, No, no, no, no, no, no, I'm talking about no, no, no, no, I'm saying as receiver he could give you that that's valuable.
Looking forward because at some point, you know, you got to look for they got scout tear on the road, and you're getting closer and closer to that scouting season. Would you be more comfortable using a draft pick on a running back and I'm not talking at first, Yeah, and did that last year and allowing Tony to uh to.
Walk, especially if you're gonna use them like how they've been been using them where it's basically a running back by committee deal with him, en Rico And to me, if you put that price tag on them, because we all understand when you put a price tag on the player, expectations come with that. To me, he could be three players in one. He could be Tony, he could be what's my guy?
Number nine? Was his name? Turping, and he could be.
A dude for all in one, Like why aren't they get like that's what That's what's confusing to me. He could be getting those Jets sweeps, he should be getting those screens, those outside pitch plays, all of that, because he can be that type of player.
We've seen it in the past, So why divvy it up that way?
I don't to me that that's just perplexing, Like why divv it up between all those guys when you have all that and one and Tony poll and you're paying them, but you want to use them, you know as a bulltozer.
He's confusing to me. Ten million dollars, it's not what he's going to get. I look at Eckler.
It was about six six and a half and he's not had the season you thought he would. In fact, they're talking about playing joshuac Kelly someone down there with the charger.
So prices are falling for running bag killing missed up.
Yeah, that's when.
Man, the man that fumbled multiple times out there, he's out there consta Hey, it's all right, Kelly, he just ain't. I'm gonna talk about I'm gonna talk about that the same way that I talked about Brandon Cooks. But Brandon Cooks has been a guy who.
Has been a thousand years receiver consistently all of a sudden, all of a sudden, ain't got it.
Kenn Allen Balling, you know the ball everybody can't eat. He's going six point.
Hey, I'm telling you, hey, I'll be I'm calling somebody here. If I'm Zeke, I'm calling killer and if I'm if I'm I'm calling killer, say see what you did, I'm just.
Saying you got CD here was balling coach. He wanted ce. He wasn't playing like this when Keller was it, he was balling. He went over that. I'm saying, I'm just saying that you a.
Cold in here for he Let me tell you something I watched eling for many years.
Be a big time running back. Then it was a touchdown.
Magine, they don't been talking about this might not be starting no more.
Use somebody. Somebody's taking his carriage.
Yes, they're going They're going to find a roll to get Joshua Kelly more cars.
Slow down. I'm playing on team and damn I'm gonna running back. And they tell me that they just kill him. I'm telling that's that's what I'm doing.
I'm calling the movie to guys, moving company whatever. There is a man.
I'm not signing there with with with this guy because I paid off TP got paid off off the Keller don't call him you want to and he got shipped out of here. Last play as a Dallas cowboy allowed in the production of Years Man. He says, he just told you Eler. Now you're gonna blame the production.
Who's the opposite?
Who's offensive coordinator was when he production start going down? I don't know who's the killer? Yeah, hold on, Kelling, so you know Polo balled out with him?
He did? Okay, Will McClay still need to come in. Church turned here talking food. Don't hire Church and your personnel department when you asked.
Kelly, who lives the thing is?
I'm sorry.
We need Tony Poula to be to me, we need him to be a little bit productive and we need to use him better, uh, in the ring game, in the past game, in order for us to be what we want to be, especially if we have to go on the road and we're not playing at home throughout the playoffs.
Excellent point. All right, let's let's let's take let's get a little came at the right time the right time. Come ahead, tell us what you catching burying foolish?
Okay, catching burying straight foolish?
Oh ah yeah, yeah, yeah, this is what's a fun show to do.

Thank you, Heck Maherrison, you're in the players Laschbot you by Tostitos. You've got Danny McCrae, Heck Maherrison, Barry Church, I'm new, he Scruggs.
So Stefan Gilmour does he travel this week? Yes, sir, No, gentlemen, big question, that's a big time question. If it's up to me, ain't no time to play games?
Man?
You know from what I saw last week, man, from what I saw last week from Gilmour and the matchup you had with DK Metcalf in the second half, I think he did a great job on on Metcalf. AJ Brown and Metcalf very similar receiver. I'm talking about size, speed, agility, running all that. They're basically the same carbon copy, the same person. And I just don't think that's a good
matchup for twenty six dron Blad. I don't see that as sometimes you gotta knowe Like for me, for example, the cat from Washington it was the tight end Jordan Reed or something like that. He wasn't a good matchup for me. Like I'll tell you right now, that guy was gonna, he was gonna, he was gonna get off. It was versus me. So to me, I just don't see.
I just don't like I was, Hey, that was real and we're playing, we're gonna play, We're gonna play something. He's one of those ones.
Where you you're supposed to go win me like, switch ain't doing it.
I just knew it, you know what I mean. That's how it was. But to me, I don't see that that's a good matchup for him. So it's not time to you know, play games or you know, be on somebody's pride or whatever. Go with the best matchup, and to me, that that's Gilmore. To me, that's Gilmore is a savvy vet out there going against a Jay Brown. And then you put you know, Bland over there on the Slim Reaper, which is still a tough one, tough
match up. It's a tough matchup. But to me, I liver died with that.
One for sure.
Starting So starting the game off, I'm starting, Yeah, man, I don't I don't know. I can't start the game off that way, you know, because as I said last week, I'm talking.
It up to you know, I can see and I can do it.
I can do it.
For the Cowboy.
They played a lot of games in a few days, okay, Durron player, second year guys, trying to get it figured out three two straight weeks. So they went to go look for number twenty six. So we'll know early, right, we know very early what they're trying to do on offensively as far as how it is targeting Darron Bland.
So I'm gonna give it a series or two, you know what I'm saying see you.
Know he got got the right right stuff right, because I know they went back to the lab with all of them right.
They woulding to.
Gilly talk to them a little bit and you could be a little better right here. So hopefully that translates to the field. So I'm start them off right side for darn blaind left side for Gilly, and then see how it goes. Because what you like, just like you said, that's a tough match up anyway, you're gonna have to cover somebody, and no matter where you lined up at, they throwing it to number what number twenty six cents,
So it don't matter. They're gonna try to find a way to make sure when they can that you can't match up, and they're gonna try to figure out the way to exploit that anyway. So give them a shot to get out there and get his confidence back, and if it don't work, moving back over that new hopium is strong.
Hey, that new batch is real good. Like I'm anna had some of that left over standing on what I said last time.
Man, Look, I completely like I believe what you're saying is accurate, that that al heres. They went back they got in the lab, but I'm also on the other side with you when it's like, man, take out a pride and ego out of here, because you saw last week. You know maybe dan Quinn was on that that Bland train as well. Like the man over there, he's gonna get it with another what she did once they made the switch, and I'm like, man, it's the rising tide
raises all boats for me. With Stephan Gilmore, y'all said that when they first signed him, that that veteran presidence is what he was gonna do for this locker room. And you see it his ability to go over and take away that primary receiver. I think Aj Brown is somebody that you gotta stop. You got to shut him down. And if Davante Smith is on the other side, you can't allow Davonte Smith. You can't allow here's the thing. You can't allow Aj Brown to get a hundred and
Davonte Smith to get a hundred as well. You gotta I mean, it's got to be feast of famine on one of those, all right. So I'm saying put the run Bland on the slim reeper, allow him because you know Jaylor Hurt's gonna try and oh he's gonna try and and those fifty to fifty passes that he does throw, he's gonna get in one of those, and he's gonna
get him another interception. So I think, defensively, if I can start off the game saying steph On, get over there, on AJ Brown, I would rely on that more as a defense than just saying all right, I don't care
which way you guys are listen. I wish I could just go back now in my brain and look at what dan Quinn did when he was in Seattle, because I just know that there were games where Richard Sherman may have been getting toasted, or Brown or whoever else they had it on the opposite side was getting toasted.
And what they did the following game, I don't think they didn't say on the same side.
But I think he's seen enough to say, all right, it's either this is really bad and this ain't gonna change, or from my experience, all right, we can get this fix.
So if he goes out there on that side again.
Then I'm assuming dan Quinn was like, all right, hey, well we seen what we saw what we saw, and I believe that we can get this fix. It was just some technique type stuff or if you switched, you know, you know what he thought did right, because they didn't switch in Seattle, So if they come out switched this time, that just lets you know how he feels about the matchup and then where d run bland maybe and where he needs to get better at.
These were the numbers for Philadelphia receiving in the last game. Total seventeen passes called as a team. Aj Brown seven catches sixty six yards, had to touchdown as long as nine point He averaged nine point four yards to catch. Devonte Smith only had three targets, but he had three catches for fifty.
One yards a touchdown.
His average seventeen in that game. Four targets for Dallas got her three catches fifty yards.
He average sixteen points us. Yes, I think last yeah.
I'm sorry, last game that twenty twenty three Philly win. So that was kind of the And then DeAndre Swift got in the pass game a little bit, two catches for thirty one yards, so and he averaged fifteen point five there.
So those are their their top top pass catchers in that in that game.
So look, it's gonna be fun to watch man he's got her back this week.
Yes, playing you're gonna have that bionical joint all heeded.
Playing with Beau, we kind of looked out the last game, you know, when him get injured in that game, because that took away, that took away a weapon. Come back is also a little a little added, a little added, a little worry for us because you know, I don't I don't know how well we cover the tight ends as a team, but we'll.
See, all right.
Tonight is Patriots Pittsburgh the TV.
Right, good time to work on your Christmas shopping.
Amazon, give me the Steelers are five point five and a half point favorite. Is for give me Steelers twenty seven? Church what you got?
Yeah, I'm going with Pittsburgh as well. Hope Z does his thing, but you know, I gotta go Pittsburgh. Give me a.
Seventeen ten a picket not playing either. There you guys Whiskey out there, mister whisky in the building. Man, I'm gonna go with the Steelers at home. Sixteen I'm sixteen fourteen wow.
Two touchdowns okay they scored last.
Week sixteen fourteen even Yeah, Okay, I agree because I'm going to nineteen seventeen Steelers. I see some defensive turnovers and takeaways about maybe a special teams touch like I see that it be a Truisky's playing. Who's the type of the quarterback for the still I mean for the Yeah, I'm just saying, when you go out there, you got these these two types of defenses who are known for being able to full quarterback. I can see a lot
of interceptions happening tonight. I can see just just just turnover after turnover, after I see uh, Trubisky gets snatched out the game and then put baking in and Zach gets there. I can see all that stuff happening tonight. I can see it.
It's gonna be TJ gonna get his numbers. He's gonna definitely his number something. I mean it was last week was good though. Yeah. But other than that, Man, has there been many in the past two years? Has there been?
Like?
Man, it's just a bad look of the drama, man, is what it is.
These other networks they asked for the big games, so they cater Sunday night football, they cater to NBC. NBC gives them a little like, hey, we want this, and then Fox everbody says this is what we want. So you Thursday night, Yeah you sitting up here. Oh you at the back end, that's what you're getting. I mean lista make you sit up here. And old Jags Titans games we got every year.
It was nice. We never got an NBC.
You know, I mean you're looking at me, you're looking at that. You know the falcons on that mean that's in Thursday night games. Man, they are not. But till they try. What they try to do is now like put everybody on a Thursday game. You got to get a taste like the Cowboys had to play. But still it is infiltrated with these matchups that you don't want you to see them.
And they're not flexing them either.
No, man, you bring up something big man with God or being back, And that is an interesting question because you think about how the Philadelphia's offense has struggled without having a bona fide tight end, and that may have been some of their problems that they've been having over the last couple of weeks with just timing and having
that option. This is one of those games and I don't know which one of our safeties we get a responsibility to, whether it be Number one the six twenty eight, whoever it is, I just know that Donovan Wilson in some way has to put his imprint on this game. Whether he's spying, whether we go spy with a linebacker, whatever we have to do. One of our safeties has to come up big, and they have to come up big,
either spying or on the tight end. I about saying, yeah, it's gonna be tough to spy if the tight end slim reaper and man, that's it just makes it a little bit more Yeah, difficult for sure that having a tight because Ferguson for us is a huge piece of the offense and got it for them was a huge.
Piece of the offense.
And to have a guy like that missing as equivalent to Mark Andrews missing or Baltimore, yet having him come back at a game like this, I'm telling the stakes are just hot. This is one of those games where you just you just hope that you're gonna get one of these at the beginning of the season because it's gonna be a clash of two Titans.
Too. Who you picking I'm gonna pick tomorrow? Is that alright?
Cause I know you he just got a little bit of my more nerve. I mentioned got her, he was a hold on. Let's come back to that got her. Hey, you said got her, got her?
Got her?
Yeah, it may not matter because Derek car said Jayleen Hurst can't read defense.
Are on time? Can't read defenses? Gentlemen, listen, Tomorrow's sure tomorrow, Danny, Yes, that's live. Long pause. What's your name? That's better the yes, sir, I knew he scrub you. Dont forget your own name? You don't.
