the camp at at and T Stadium. We've been talking about it all week, but that is a great camp that he's only the good calls, man, But you know what, don't like I always stought this thing. I always stought this thing. We always do a check in, man, and look for me. I do this and I check in with my people, man, because I want to be present for anything that's going on in your life. The same with me. You know what I'm saying. So look, man, I'm checking your mentals. Brother, how are you today? You

know what? As usual? Man, I'm extremely blessed. Man. I'm feeling good. It's a beautiful day. I was gonna get cold. It's gonna get cold a little bit, you know, this weekend. But right now feeling great. Got to pick up the in laws and a couple of days to bring them in. You know, kids gonna love that and everything's gonna be sweet. Woke up this morning to the news of Franco Harris's passing, and um, you know it's um for me being that you know my uncle is Joe green h. Franco Harris is like, uh, it's like a friend of the family, somebody that's always there, you know. And I grew up seeing this man, you know and uh, man, one of the one of the one of the one of the just nicest people you ever want to meet. Just a great person, always always uh with something encouraging to say, you know, um, and not only that man, you know,

it's it's amazing. Man. This game is given me so much because you know, it's it's helped me. But I've been around some of the greatest athletes to ever play the game. And when I look back on this relationship, man, I've never looked at him like that. I always looked at him as you know, Uncle Franco, the man that's

just around you know. Um. You know, my my son had an opportunity when my uncle got a statue outside we got a statue placed outside of the University of North Texas UM to sit in the press box with Franco. And you know, I didn't tell my son right then on the spot man, you know who that is, that's Franco. You know, I didn't do that. I just he sat down and he talked to my son and he talked her to him about you know what he wanted to do with his football career? Where did he want to go?

What do you want to major in? About life stuff? And that's just man, that was just the kind of man that he was. And you know, I think that you know, from from my uncle, from my family. Man, I'm praying for him. Um, but that's that's a tough loss, man, because he's losing he's losing his friends, his brothers, you know, guys that he played with. And I just, man, it's at that point. And so man, for me, it's been tough. Uh. You know, it's a holiday season. So you know, that

was not something that I wanted to to hear. But you know, at the same time, Bro, you know, I'm in the building. You in the building. Man, I'm in the building. You know what I'm saying that, And uh, I'm here to talk about my cowboys for for sure. And uh, the only way to transition to this is, you know, offer this a god bless FRANKL. Oh, hang it up, gotta I gotta bring this up. He said what he's saying on television, man, Man, people weren't listening, like people, come on, man, let's talk about it. Man. So yesterday on FS one speak um great David Hellman used to be be here. David Hellman is now Holly HollyHood the Helman.

It's on this show with Joy Taylor uh and Emmanuel Acho. They have a show and speak and on this show, Lashaw McCoy goes into a rendition about Dak pres Scott and says that Dak is asked, I asked. That's that's what he said. And so to me, like when when I heard it, one of the things that I know, you know, hates a't hateresn't hate it, and I expect for him to do that. And that's what it's letting people know that the robbery is real. You've been a part of it, it's real rights, it's bad blood and

you're not gonna get anything. Anybody to say anything positive about the other. But to me, it just kind of it just stood out to me that this man would have the platform to say this about another professional and it's no different from me, ESPN or the other ones that you have players on and personalities that hate on the Cowboys. But for him to say that Dak Is asked to me was just there's a lot of words I can't use. Yes, I feel it, I can see it. There's a lot of words that I can't use what

I'm doing. It's a lot of words that I can't use. But the one word that I will say is that that was insulted very much. That was insulting. And so BC, I mean, hey, I want to know from you man, when you got there, when you heard that quote? Man, what did you feel about that? So I was watching it, you know, I was getting to work out in at

the crib. I'm watching it on the TV, and I hear him just just blurt that out of his mouth, just you know, as soon as he got on there talking about Dak's ass, and I was and I'm sitting there thinking to myself, like he's been waiting to come out and say something because he was off the show for counor. What happened, you know, vacation, whatever it is, but he was couldn't wait to get that off his chest.

And for him to say that, I mean, it's extremely disrespectful and it's out of pocket, like you don't, dude, like you know, you're a professional on National TV. Man, this ain't It ain't like we were sitting in you know, amongst friends, or you in the locker room chilling. You know what your teammates, because I've done that in the past when I'm with my teammates and were chilling. We're gonna really tell you how we feel about a certain player, but we would never go out there and say it

in public or say it on National TV. And the fact that that man had to add as to go out there and say that this man was poop poo trash but the other word for it, it's just out of pocket to me. And the fact that he just blurts this stuff out with no factual evidence to back it up, like you just saying click bait stuff just to say it. At least hellman gets on there and he backs it up with stats. My man's just going out there saying this dude is poop poo trash. Why

is he poopoo trash? Shady? Oh, I could just see it with my eyes. I can see that the eye test. No, man, that's that's that's not I need more to it because the man is far from trash for you to go out there national television and state that in front of everybody like he's just gone, man, that that's out of pocket, and it's it's disrespectful, in my opinion, disrespectful. Man, that's the thing about if you've ever been had the opportunity, which heck you've had to be around those seventies Steelers and seventies Cowboys of just how the class overall of those gentlemen. Man, you know, these are guys you know when you when you're mad him and you walked away, You're like wow. And for as great as they were, you would never know it the

way they act. Bro, You're go in this locker room. Now, some of these guys, you make one Pro Bowl and you know this man got four rings on its own. It wouldn't wouldn't even know it, ma'am. So, so you know when you see your uncle man, give him my love and and that that I am thinking of him,

and it is. And you're from Pittsburgh, so so you know the legend the picture of him, the statue of Franco Airport, you know, yeah, and for us the cowboys, for for for folks who grew up on those cowboys like heck and I, um, this is a sad day because you're losing your losing some of your childhood. Obviously you're losing it an uncle, a family member. Um man, just just tough. But back to what shady. First of I never watched the show. I love Dave Hellman, our

friend love Himnuel. I chose my friend. But I never watched those shows. That's not my So what I do see or clips and when when you got we sent the tech chain and I looked at the clip and I saw it, and I just my first world came. Okay, decorum and the whole lack of it as a player to about another player. That's one thing when it's the Skips of the World saying something exactly exactly, you know, but when guys who've played this game, who understand how tough it is to play this game, for guys who

are black, who understand what black quarterbacks go through. When I saw that, heck Man, I just said, it's a lack of decorum. And another reason, just confirst why I

never turned those shows on. I look at we were talking yesterday about, you know, me as a color analyst, how much feel my breakdown and what it means to go into a booth and be on ESPN and talk about talk about this football, football teams and know the inner workings of how teams go. I watch film on this team all day. That's why I feel so confident in them. I look at other teams and I can say, oh, they don't have that. You know, they don't have one of those. You know, we look at our running game. Cee Lamb is capable

of doing this. But when you could just throw all the numbers out, when you could throw everything out and just say nah, he trash And I'm just basically off of what I see. Look, come on, Dog, oh you ain't giving me nothing to fight with you And Dave, Dave, you know Dave, my boy man. I loved Dave to death. Man and he does a wonderful job of decorum and keeping his you know cool because you know me, dog and man, I would have words for that man, because

that's not cool. Man Hack. Going back to what you said, you know when you watch one reason why I don't watch as I know how the sausage is made. Being in TV, I know what they're trying to do. And Mike Hill, who's now Fox Sports, used to be the ESPN, and before that, Mike hit worked. We worked together the NBC five and one day it was a whole cowboy topic.

Anybody might have been Thursday. They were going at this thing with this heavy segment and it's Mike, you know, this is days old, and it's not what you guys are playing it up to be. And he said, I know, but they want to talk about the cowboys. The cowboys are are are their cat nip, and but it's days old, and and you know it's been you know, it's been spot they didn't care, and so manufacturing things about the cowboys is a big deal. So over there now it's

been manufactured former Eagles. Shady hates cowboys. We see what it does for stephen A over here. We're gonna bring it over here and then bam and resulting in Shady, you know, doing what he did with with Helman that little bit of clip that I saw. And apparently from what I've been hearing and seeing, this is a constant thing, Shady versus going after, going after helmet, and the Helmet is now put in a position of defender of Dak

all the time. There's a political show used to be an old political show on Fox News called Hannity and Columbs. Sean Hannity has got his own show now. But it started off as Sean Hannity, the the heavy conservative guy, and and and then Alan Combs he was, yeah, he was kind of a liberal, but he kind of. He just was totally opposite and that was it. And then it became after a while it was Sean beating up on Combs and then officially he got blowed out right right.

But but you knew, you knew what the show was going to be, and so that once again, I don't watch it because I already know. I know how the sausage is made here. How much has been put toward on air or segments about the Chiefs needing to go to over time against Houston, to the level of Dallas beating Houston at the end, it's two different things, in't so,

so that's what it is. Cowboys drive ratings, man. Honestly, I don't know about you, but when I went to the stadium and I saw that this was the Fox game of the weekend, really Jackson do but it's the Cowboys, man, When in doubt, that's who television executive you used to say back in the day, winning doubt, give them the Cowboys. So you're doing these shows, you're looking for topics. Your producers you know what they do, Oh we got a Cowboys.

They throw it in there, and but I'm just like, shady, How how do people actually listen to that like it. I'll be I was one of those I gotta take my hand falls off time. I'm like, what is this because guess what we're sitting here talking about it. It's getting clicks. Low being you know, the low common denominator of the stuff now works. That's it's it's it's we in our society getting turned on that kind of stuff. Oh no, really, even though we know the decorum of it.

Player you know, player towards other player, you know, those of us look at it, like come on, but even look at look at our look at our political system now. Man. The things that people used to say is candidates or you wouldn't even think, or stuff that would not you would not get elected for We're electing these people now. We're electing people who are dumb. We're electing people who come out and say the craziest things of the world.

And our television now and our sports is players who used to have there used to be the line of respect. It's gone out the door. Man. Now I can just sit up here and call you, call you ass and with with no facts, nothing and just just because because I want to. And oh I'm gonna be the former player, So I get the bully you dave hellman because you you know so. So that's the formula. And guess what, man,

people watch it. It's crazy. It's like it's turned into TMZ. Now, like what happened is you know, I mean sports talk shows where man, now they just emz I seen it, He's asked, because I've seen it. What look, man, Well, let's helpless Shan McCoy out. No, let's help him. No, they don't. He wouldn't help Now, let me tell you. Let me let me tell you this. You know what

a position. Who else are we going to judge him against? To hear people talk, you would think that Dak Prescott is still the highest paid quarterback exactly. Not you would think that. But okay, are you gonna go on these shows and talk about Kyler Murray's numbers and what he's been doing Arizona? No, they don't do that. And then in the same with Jailer like you took two guys who seemingly were on a trajectory upward and you messed him up. And now you look at him. Heck in the second year with this dan Quinn defense, and he's playing good football.

He's playing really good, go far good. He's been helping his run defense out a lot, and you see him shutting blocks. He's sideline the sideline out there. So he's having one of his more productive seasons. And we all said going into a contract yet, you either going to succeed or you're gonna fail. And he haven't been on that succeeding side so far this year. So hopefully he can come back because we know this defense is gonna need him, especially with that lackings you know, secondary, they

got a lot of injuries up there. Upfront, Hankins is gonna be out, so this defense needed an lv in there. So not this week, but hopefully next week he can return. And I love this. What I love more than anything about dan Quinn is the scheme that he arrived with. Um I love it. I mean people don't. Ray Lewis is one of the best linebackers in the business ever, but no winding he ever gives him credit for playing with Tony Sarah Goose and Sam Adams. You know what

I mean. He has some beef upfront. And when you have guys that big, that gobbler space eaters that allow ray Lewis to run sideline the sideline, he can be who he is. We are seeing the best version of Layton vander esh because of a Jonathan Hankins. We see. People don't understand when Carlos Watkins gets a holding penalty and you ask himself, how to hell there's a defensive lineman get a holding penalty. He's keeping that guy from

shedding and getting downhill on your linebacker. And when you got a guy that's willing to sacrifice his production in this way, that's what our guys up front it. Look you look at those Diggi Zoor, You look at Neville Gallimore. Those are upfield guys. Those they shooting the gall They get penetrators. That's what they do. Ankins, Quentin Bohannah, those guys, Carlos Walkers, they sacrifice their game so that our linebackers can shed and run. That's that's just the name of

the game. I go back to your town. Two dudes in the Hall of fame Jack him, Jack Lambert and stealing Bro How easy was it? Look it up front? My goodness, gracious, I mean Bro White White else you're scraping all day long, free, free, free downhill just fun boy. I mean your daddy's Christmas cardle should be full from linebackers. That's the thing where you talk about putting Harry Goosa and those guys there, Ray could run and get there, which you know smart by by their organizations to realize, heymy this is what you need to get. But man, you get a great tackle Derek Brooks fantastic. You can't warrant sapping and if the booker mcfarre so you you get it right like that, man, I mean with Hollywood and Henderson and man, when you got Randy White up, it's easy to make some blade.

You're able to make plays. And when you don't have that, cats get up on you. And that's what happened. And that's what we saw saw happening to Jaylen Smith. Jaylen Smith, he overcame that dropped foot. We saw the best part of him when he came back from the drop foot, but he was limited dog when guys where he couldn't fight off those blocks and gods was coming down on him because of that drop foot. He couldn't change direction right.

So when that misdirection it was going that way and had to cut back that way, and that guard was already on him. It was like, good night, we'll see you see this play man. You got us, you got us. So many people are talking about the Cowboys e to draft a corner, draft a corner because you know what's happened with Lewis and Brown. And I'm like, guys, if there's there's some beef up front, you may want to think about getting some beef up front because it just helps.

I mean Robert Smith number fifty five on the Cowboys, Uh uh, jim coming, Jimmy Johnson's early bad man. Man. When you have Russell Maryland, you have Tony Toilbert, you have uh Tony Casillus, you have chatted, You've got these guys up front. Man, allows your guys to make Ken Norton Jr. You know, allows your guys to go and make plays. And so in the first round, you know, if there's a big up, if there's a big en

up there. They don't want to think about doing it because Warren sappas the greatest one, one of the greatest lines I've ever heard, the backdoor work without the front of just how much a great defensive line makes everyone's life easier. You think about the Doomsday defense, as you think about the Steel Kurt, and you think about the No Name defense. It was all about up front, Ye, Saxonville, we were all the front. Lais Campbell. That's all you

gotta say, Lais Campbell, good Lord and ye. And then so you take someone like a Jalen Ramsey, you know, already a supreme corner and you got that up front. Now we are right, you're racing dudes. But you know, that's the thing about PF and I think some of the genius that they kind of add to the game. When you talk about how Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey working concert to one another, what is the percentage that Aaron Donald affects the play that gives Jalen rams To

his opportunity for success. It's high out of you, you know. And so that's what the Dallas Cowboys are going up against right now. I think teams right now really have just gone back to the tape and they found those things that really the Cowboys are limited. They found that chink in the armor, They found those weak spots in

that defense, and they are attacking it. At the beginning, I think when we saw the Green Bay game, you were talking about guys on the outside making business decisions, you know, when they were going with that outside zone run, when that counter trait was coming out there, and the age I was trying, you know, and those and when you start seeing guys not well, yeah, they want to pin their ears back and come after the you know, get the sacks, but they don't want to take on that.

They don't want to take on that run. One thing I would say about you, Barry when you played, which was a trip to me, and when I first met you, I swear to God, when I saw you, I was like, damn, you know, because I thought you were much bigger than you work, you know, because you played bigger one of the first one I've seen other old school guys do this. But a safety that would come up and take on a tackle off the gap, a bullet tackle, you know, and blow it, blow a man back out. What I'm

saying they just don't make them like that no more. Dog, you don't see that kind of physicality in the game anymore. And so I think for the Dallas Cowboys, especially in this game, Philadelphia understands that there may be a tense, a twine of these guys just don't want it. They don't want to get ran that and have us come downhill on them. You look at the numbers for the Philadelphia Eagles. They're one of the best running teams in

the game because of how physical they are. And if you go back to the game that we lost against them in their first half, then when they were up twenty to zero at halftime, thought they beat us up?
