The whole tournament was outstanding. South Carolina goes down that Caitlin Clark shows up, the LSU wins the first one. It was a great, great great weekend of basketball. But really, I think you know what you're alluding to is all the press that they've gotten behind

the taunting, uh that you know it. Really you can have an opinion on it no matter what it is, and my opinion has been everybody's talking about women's basketball. That's all that to me, that's all I care about. You can spend the narrative however you want to, but you're talking about great women's basketball being played, and Caitlyn Clark is an assassin. I mean, she's a great player regardless of what people in in LSU what as a team,

that's phenomenal basketball that was played. And so look, man, as a part of my many jobs, bro, I call games and women's basketball is one of them. And there are some women's basketball players and I'm like, if she was a man, everybody would know her name, you know, and you need, you deserve to be talking about Caitlin Clark because she's a one of a kind. I mean, you haven't seen anybody shoot the ball at the percentage

that she does. And the LSU women's basketball team, come on, now, did you see I mean the way that they run the high efficient Kim Moki had them playing like, man, that's a great game. And so look, they're gonna try and spend the negative, but really what the positive is is that women's basketball is getting is getting the highlight, and they deserve it. I want to get my girl

that came off the bench to gold Man. She came out with you twenty one point the first in the first half, and then she she ended up at one point and the second and Night asked her after the game. I said, there was so much talking about Clark. How did you feel because she hadn't made it. She really had made a bucket and then didn't have a good tournament. Just turned it on and she's like, hey, I'm gonna felt like I was an assassin too. She got it right and she was fun and then um fifty five. Gosh,

I had that much fun of Dallas, which when I did my story, I talked about how this is the second time in seven years the city of Dallas has hosted the women's championship,

and you had another SEC team win it. That first one was a great game where you saw Mississippi State take on you come and um Morgan can't remember her last name, but from mississipp State hit that game, win a shot and they beat they beat Yukon was in the stands. And then Mississippi Stated against South Carolina in that final on the course, that's when Don Staley and

the Game Coots won their first one. So that that was a great one, which I think in my mind just talking to listen to Monica Paul Company, that allowed Dallas to get the second Final four this year because they had such a you know, a great turnout Friday. I was there for the free workouts there. Um when I walked in LA she was practicing. You know, it's free packed full of fans. We're in a purple and

goal who were there. Then I went down to listen to the South Carolina press conferences and chatted with them, and then after the IOWA came through, so a lot of buzz as people were there to watch the ladies. Don Staley was like Obama, I mean, wherever you couldn't she couldn't go nowhere, people take a selfie all these kids and all these players people just wanted to be around Don Staley. So that was really interesting that Friday night when we saw the best player versus the best team.

It was incredible. It was incredible. And then yesterday when I drove up, you should have seen the line that people wait to get in there. All of the police were like, please stay to the side. People wanted to get in there. It was black and goals, purple and gold. People already for it. And been a few math games this year. Ain't seeing the math game with that type

of energy. But to me, you know, the defensive line has got to be where you got it. You know that's what hurt this defensive

most running up the gut last year. So you get somebody to clog them holes in there and stay off your linebackers, you got a chance. I'm going to think more about this now because of the absence of Carlos Watkins going to a different teamer. You know, he was a good guy in that rotation. And we had a lot of great players, but a lot of guys, as we talked about last week, that we're healthy scratches. That's

not a good look for you on this defense. But you have some pretty good talent right there around twenty six that they may be intrigued to go after somebody. Now, they won't be of the caliber of the guy that we're talking about, maybe getting to tenth, which we don't want, but there's some good talent there. And second, third day, for sure, you're looking at the detackle spot. Oh yeah, I'm first second day when you think about Mike McCarthy coming out and saying we're a defensive team. He wished

we would have ran the ball more. We need to play to our defense. Make sure we keep those guys fresh. The way you do that right, it's drafting, and make you sure that you're looking out for the defense. How can you get your keep your defense stopping the run? Allowing Michael Parsons, like we said, if he's under size, you allow him to be a straight up pass rusher. And that's why you stopping the run on first and

second down. So I think this is one of the most important parts of the draft for us is making sure we solidify that defensive line position. I'm thinking the first day should be a player that is not sexy at all that people look. You know, you're not looking up the fantasy football numbers. To me, that's where I look at where this team needs help. They need some help here some positions and aren't gonna be sexy to people. Aren't running out to go buy a number of you know,

sixty four jersey or something like that. I mean, it needs to be some upfront defensive line, preferably offensive line or when you talk about linebacker front seven. They've got to address this. To me, if you're trying to go to another level, I look at the forty nine ers. That D line covers up a lot. D line. It makes so many plays that a dude can be an average rookie quarterback and sit up here and take it to the championship game. Because defensively, they were hard. They

were hard for you to play against. And as we saw with Dak Prescott and company, you had the ball three minutes to go, you know, defensively, man, they were able to make the plays and get it done. And it starts up front. I'm with you. I'm with you, Yeah, upfront.

I will say this though I did see my man Dave Hillman he wrote his story was talking about needs and seven to ten, you know, one through ten, like what how important it is with ten being the highest and old line was at seven And then you know, you look at the at the tackle position and you say, we got Tyrants coming back in the last year his deal, you got Terrence are still on the one year deal.

What do you do? You need some depth, right, so, yeah, we need some depth all over that that offensive line spot, especially looking into years years to come. So then you make sure you have to address that too, right, So I think it's offensive line defensive line should be your two main positions. You picked up Cooks. You're trying to solidify the receiver room. Of course, you already know you're gonna have to pay some people on defense with Michael

Parsons and trade Mund Diggs. Solidify your front offensive line and your defensive line right now while you got the chance. So let me throw this out. Cooks is here basically at a one year d and you're going to have to pay CD Lamb. If there is, in their opinion, an impact receiver on day one or two, be it first, second, third, rounds, would you do it? You know what I think every year the myth is you go with your board, right, it's drafting it. We don't go with out board, gold

out board. They know the talent that's out there, and I think it's it's gonna be also related to who these Like I said before, I want who dan Quinn wants. And if dan Quinn is saying that this safety or that d Lineman is the guy that I wanted. If if he's there twenty six, then I get him. But there's undeniable talent also at the wide receiver position, and looking down as far as the long run, it's concerned.

You're talking about Cooks and Ceedee lamb if and I don't know if we can if there's a kid like the kid from TCU, the wide receiver, the big kid six three, two hundred and twelve pounds, a playmaker that could be a difference maker for you as a rookie. Now does that convolution make things different for some other guys that you've got in New years past? I look,

that's just that's just the way it's gonna go. But I'm gonna get a playmaker of twenty six if he's there looking me straight in my face, and I'm not gonna say, oh, well I can get I can get a defensive lineman here. But look, if I got a bonafide dog, I'm gonna get. Well, who's who's I mean, it's fifty three fifty three spots. So I'm the roster now, all right, So you get your right receiver room right

now looks like Cooks, Cnee Lamb, and Michael Gallop. Now you're gonna draft the guy if he's sitting there in the first round, which one what I'm saying not I'm saying, like, what position are they gonna play? And then if they are going to start, then what are you doing with If you have a bona fide playmaker sitting there watching you, I'm saying what, so what what are you doing with your roster at that point? Now you got four starting receivers on your on your squad. But that's the same

depth that you're talking about a defensive lineman. Chauncey Goldston, you got we talked, we were talking about guys who are going They're not sexy, but they're gonna be here and they're not generational talent. But this is what this was a weak spot of your offense, of your of your defensive line. We picked up Brandon Cooks because we had the receiver room as a weakness on our team. So then now you can have four guys in there.

If you see a playmaker sitting there twenty six and you're like, we're gonna pick a guy in the first round, and now now you have to say him and what are we going to do when we trot these guys out there? Who's gonna play special teams? Which one about who's gonna be a healthy scratch because somebody somebody's gonna be sitting there not getting any reps. Yeah, generational bona fide, whatever it is. That's what I'm saying. Going according to

your board is what they talk about it. And I know that guys like Dan Quinn probably have his eyes on talent. I'm down with that. But if you're looking at a guy that is that dude, as you're a playmaker, I can't. I can't walk away from that. That's like the Bijean Robinson argument that we haven't if he's sitting there looking at you at twenty six. Do you say, no, I just came up with the z coun track. I

though I'm actually okay with the Bejan thing. I'm just talking about the receiving room because i think it's a little too but still, well, you know, talk about running back. I mean you're talking about company with one so it's Brandon Cooks. Yeah, but I'm saying as far but you need to two backs. We say we need some more depth at the true back field. Right we got Ronald

Jones who's coming off health issues. If you got a guy like Bijean who slips down to twenty six, Now you solidified at the running back position for how long? At least the next one, four or five years. You're gonna pay CD Lambi. You're gonna be solidified at the at the as you're having your star receiver for a decent amount of time. If you signed CD Lamb, I just I just wouldn't do it if as a receiver, but yes, you have a bona fide playmaker in another

I just think it's hard to believe that quarterback on Dak's level can only go up there and have to play. That's impossible to me that he down here, all right, we have to run right here.

You're saying that is an import in his career, where look, he should have the whole playbook buffet basically to make a call if he's facing something that he

Look all of that, all of those things being said and being equal, Mike McCarthy comes in with a simplistic look to his offense that he's had success with with Aaron Rodgers, with an offense that was called along Brett Farve, an offense that was called a very long time ago. So we don't know how this is gonna look and how Dak Prescott is going to look in it. So the world that's the worry. I'm I'm excited. I'm just staying on that one. I'm still hype.
