Nothing to be guaranteed for him the

next year was what is what? Which is what we assume was the reason for them releasing them in the first place. So it might make sense, uh to them to bring him. Gonna take or you're gonna put him on practice squad, be back up, He'll be back up. Is a team's guy. You think jealous man is gonna be out there and be able to produce on teams.

He has never done that before. No, he will never got so I don't still see who where he's gonna go about to you on that one, because you are correct, I did not see him taking anybody's spot that is currently in the starting line up. And if you're not going to be a core special teams player, then I don't think there's any room for you to be roster. So maybe we go make a trade of someone. We find somebody to pick up off of, maybe a practice squad. You know, maybe he can get on the practice squad.

He don't have any eligibility, like like it has to be like a reason for for for him to be on there for us to go make that move. That chill, bro, It might it might be instant. You got to seven meal, bro. The fact that it happened so quickly, Uh, you know, he got on there. He was a healthy scratch. I think he played in play like one game, one game, and and and the highlight of that one game was just you know, him getting yeah. So yeah, I mean, sometimes you just gotta you gotta step back and you

gotta reevaluate what you're doing. That I would agree. You know, if you still want to play, then just go go go make sure you work on some of that stuff that I'm sure that they told you about when they when they released you in the same thing that Green Bay did, and and you'll give another shot. YEA. Hopefully I would have my agent call Will McClay. If i'm Jalen Smith, call can't hurt conscience, hurt I know the defense.

If it was like Dan Quinn just came in and Jayleon Smith one of his guys from years ago, who was gonna help be the leader in the locker room, I

think that's a little different. Um. But I think whoever you bring in, you don't expect them to be a starter anyway, so they're gonna have time to figure out what they need to be doing. They're gonna be all in bones and bones is playable. They'll be in that trying to be a core special team, then trying to work their way onto the defense. And like you said, it's not gonna be that difficult to be able to here and pick it up. You have a couple of weeks to do so, so I think they can find

somebody if they want to, if they want to. Look, you're gonna you want to feel a spot because you need that. But on the peace squad that we can bring up. But I'm just I'm just sitting here just talking about a veteran player or a guy who knows your who knows your team is available, and I just I'm just surprised if I wish I could see the smile once two former players just you know, just saying no, just keeping it real, saying no. I mean you already

moved on. I think right right now we have changed the culture of the organization and Mike McCarthy, Will McClary them are doing things different. They're releasing guys when they need to be releasing. They're bringing the right guys in who they think are going to eventually help them. And they didn't think that Jay Leon Smith could help them. So I don't see a reason for them in their

mind to bring them back. Okay, so let's just kind of go back to the premise of what we had heard was, Hey, look, this was about the injury guarantee. Mike McCarty nine two next, right, So so you know they said a lot of positive things about it. Mike McCarthy. Hey, this was kind of a bigger thing. So you don't have to worry about that now, so you can bring

him back. And you know, he was green Bay that tied him to whatever vet minimum because the Cowboys run the hook for the money, so it's not like you're going to have to invest any large dollars here. He played twenty six snaps bro Like, it's it's something that like the coaches are seeing to for that type of stuff to happen. You know, some people, your play slips sometimes.

But if you go to a team and it's a team that we aren't playing, right, because usually they would pick you up off the waiver wire if you were playing him the next week, so they can figure out everything that you know about the defenses and the calls or whatever. But green Bay picked him up because they thought he was gonna be a player for them, and then he played twenty six snaps, so they saw something and then you know, d qing them saw something as well.

But does he have too much presence in that locker room to just be, you know, a guy out there, like you know what, I like, I can see them bringing in somebody else because you know, they don't have that presence in that locker room. But I feel like Jalen if he came in here, he would bring that presence with him. He was a captain, he was a leader on that defense for a couple of years. So

do you want that in the locker room? Do you want that presence in the locker room, especially if it's not going to be that big of a contributor to your team's success overall? Do you want to bring that in here or do you want to get a fresh start. I think you've moved on. I think Will McClay and them have they will have somebody in mind already. Some of the scouts are up there watching to see who they can get to replace Jabril Coxon. I don't think

it's James Smith. Yeah, all right, So when you just kind of look at your injured list right now, you've got Francis Bernard, that's the one linebacker that you have. He's an undrafted kid, right, yeah, kid, you're talking so that right now? Just kind of looking here, you're there's nobody on the practice squad who's linebacker. So this is kind of what you're you're you're looking at here in terms of Jalen Smith could make sense looking at what

you have here? Could you already gat a Luke Gifford who's a core special teamer can come in and play spot duty at linebacker if needed. So do you need another one of those? I don't. I don't think so. I don't you know what I'm gonna I'm with Daniel, I don't think so. I think they're gonna figure it out. Man. I think they've figured out without him. Note no shade to Jalen. I'm just saying, you know, it happened. He

was released and with another squad he was released. I think the writing maybe on the wall for the twenty twenty one season, and we'll see what happens moving before. But for us, we're rolling right now where they've they've made all the right decisions so far. So whichever one they do make, it's fine. But I just don't see that happening. But I also didn't seen back playing this week. And we also and we've seen this happen before, where guys will be gone for a couple of years and

they'll come back. You came back after with a year or two, justin Durant came I didn't get released, and you didn't get released, came back after a year or two. Same thing with just the Rent, but that took a couple of years in between. This is like a couple of weeks between it, Like he was released and now he's a free agent. So that's another factor. And I just don't see it happening for my boy. Okay, So on the players side right now, it is the former

players against bringing back down, all right, the narrative. I don't believe that they should. I don't believe that they will. I'm not against like I'm not. If we're on Survivor right now, your vote, you're keeping Jalen off on on the off the island. He's going. I don't like when people come back, you know, I don't. I don't like I don't like time travel. He's gone after winning a Super Bowl MVP with the Broncos super Bowl fifty team and that with DeMarcus where Wade Phillips' defensive coordinator on that on that defense, He's going to Los Angeles with an opportunity to play on a team that very much is in the hunt to to Uh, they're definitely a Super Bowl contender here. I don't know exactly what they're gonna be putting out there on defense. Uh, comes Sunday against these cowboys and they are throw in the town. I don't like, I said, like,

how you gonna how to coach? Gonna try to hype y'all up. We're doing every thing we can to go out here. And get this victory. You just traded arguably our best maybe second best, to certain of the Heart and start Denver Bronco. A couple of years ago, we were thinking, Okay, this that guy Von Miller, he'll be a Denver Bronco for life. He's gonna be like a Shannon Sharp or something like that, where he's there forever.

But I mean, it goes fast in the NFL. And now as a coach, you're telling these players, yeah, we're gonna go to the Cowboys, we won't give our best bet and all this other stuff. You just traded away our best defensive player, and you're gonna try to make us believe you're not throwing in the town. As a player, I'm like, all right, now it's time for me to get mines. I gotta go out there and do what I gotta do to make sure my job is safe or future is safe here. And that's what you're gonna see.

What these players, they're gonna be trying to press, get them them sales. Why don't you jump that round? You let im trying to get a pick. Man, I don't know about y'all. I'm trying to get a pick. Get these stats up. But yeah, it's gonna be hard to motivate those players come Sunday. I'll say this, shout out to Denver though, okay for this not wasting the rest of von Miller's career. They get them justice by that one. No, in their mind they do not have a shot and

being a Super Bowl contender. And then also shout out to the Rams for being the opposite of what Jacksonville was when we were playing, well before you actually went it was. Jacksonville was that place where all the collection of the older players would go there getting paid off their careers. And then now la is the Matthew Stafford, Jalen Ramsey, the von Miller, well he might not be there. And the dudes when you talk about using draft picks for we'll give you a second, we'll get there nobody.

And and it's working for them to get a staff out of it. You get a Jalen Ramsey. Now you're getting the v Miller to go with an Aaron Donald. It's like Leonard Floyd. Everybody thought he was a bust a couple of years ago. That guy's you know, proven dividends for that defense out there. The Ram the Rams are getting ready for a push right and I think they all us against them. Ships is all in right now, us against them. It's gonna be be a good matchup.

That's gonna be tough, man, that's gonna be a tough match So for us, I got faith with what our wants in there. I got faith in us. Anybody's defense, they're gonna put Donald right over Williams. I've got a feeling that this is the absolute best week to go face the Denver Broncos. Because you've traded von Miller. The message in the locker room has to be one of just like you said, you're shaking up like Bond can go, what's next for me? And now I'm thinking about the

coaching staff. You're big fans, you know you're coaching for your career right now, and they're just got rid of Von Miller. You're sitting the ownership of sitting that kind of message to you. And if you're an assistant coach man, you look at a wife like, uh, we got a real tour. What's going on? Because because you because they may not make it, they need a quarterback. Okay, they have a quarterback problem around there, so they thought they

could run the ball and play defense. They're they're an okay football team. And now you're coming down here to face the Cowboys, who should have Dak Prescott back. If you're a young player for the Broncos right now and you see the franchise guy, the guy that's been there since you were a kid watching it get get traded like that,

Right when you play a team that has the caliber quarterback of a Tom Brady sably a Matthew staff for possibly a Kylin Murray. You're not gonna get away with that type of stuff. Now when you got Kirk Cousins at prime time when usually struggling, yeah, then yeah, you you might be able to get away with that. But we that that is going to be an issue, similar to the issue that we will have at the left guard position if we don't get that thing shirt up.

These are things that throughout the season you have to continue to get better at it. And if he continues to miss these field goals, there will be some some some discussions when you have like fourth and five, fourth and four, like should we just go for it because nobody's gonna be really confident that you're gonna make that field goal. If you continue to let us down the way that you have. Who was the kicker before? Was it my maher Well, they had gone for bath for bat.

He was like ten for ten or something crazy like that to end the season. And then you know, he brought in his airline. He was supposed to be this. There was done, no competition. It was just like, yeah, he's the guy, he's he got the job. He was zerline was hurting training camp. There was nobody else in here was forcing this guy. He was old, he's the guy. We got all the confidence world. So that's bones fossil trying to sit up here and just be and pass

this guy off on you. And I'm sorry right now, I just don't have a high confidence meter and what I'm seeing rightfully, So, I mean he's been he's been missing a lot of kicks that aren't you know, these devastatingly long kicks, they're right supposed to be Yeah, extra points, thirty yarders, forty yarders and position? Is it? Is it your head is that at that point? Is it like, Okay, this is something mental or is it something like he's dealing with an injury or he's trying to battle do something.

Looks who was historically great for such a long time, and then it's just like the wheels fell out and he just couldn't get it back. So, looking right here at the kicking stats on on nfl dot com, right now, Zeroline is tied for six with Justin Tucker of Baltimore and Daniel Carlson of Las Vegas. But it's interesting while they're they're tied. Uh, this is the biggest difference when

it comes to field goal percentage. Right now, Justin Tucker's ninety three point three, Carlson's at eighty seven point five,

zero lines seventy seven point eight. You start looking in here into in terms of the field goals zero lines attempted eighteen he's made fourteen as long as fifty six, he's one of one from twenty to twenty nine yards, nine of ten from thirty to thirty nine, three to four from forty to forty nine, fifty plus one for three extra points attempted twenty three, he's made twenty one. I would just love to see a stat and I'm sure you can do a deeper dive in there and

you know, if you have some time. But pressure kicks, like because we see I wasn't thea Tucker all the time. If it's Baltimore, they drove it down to the you know, we gotta make a pressure kick six for the win, like, so I would love to see a staff to see where zero line is when it comes to like for the win type game winning kicks, because we know we hit one in Um, wait, did he hit one this year? No? He just hit it to Tide in New England. Right, No, he hit the one he wanted in La in La

and he gains the charges. He won that one. But I would love to see a status he where he was at in like pressure kick situations or go to or kicks to win the game type situations, because we know Tucker, he's clutched when it comes to that seventy seven percent and seventy seven percent free throw. We need, We needed Steph Curry. Oh you know Ray Allen up there in those ninety percents, that's what we need, especially when, like you said, there's no competition going through training camp, there's nobody to push you there. Jerry spoke a little bit about it on his radio show, saying that they were going to definitely, Um, you know, practice different combinations this week, So I would assume you put Collins at right tackle, you put Terrence Steal at left tackle as your replacements of Tyrant cannot go. I don't know

about you, ty and Secky. Seems like teams like there's a better option and it seems like there's a better option Chops and they see seven nine act there, so don't take but it don't take this, but don't take. So that's so, So what do you guys think of that scenario in terms of if they need to go and make that switch. I'm putting I'm putting Terren Steele, who I think has earned the right and has played the best outside of Tyron Smith. I mean he's played

old Tyren Smith and Zach Martin. I think he's played the best on that offensive line and he's earned the right to do it. I mean, he's put the work in and his work has basically translated to the field and he's been he's been a very solid tackle out there. So I'm putting him on that blind side, especially if Dak Prescott's out there. I'm putting him out there because he's been playing the best. And then I'm just moving up bud cons to the right side where he's naturally

been at. Keep Williams there maybe in the second, don't get into that wishbone and look that they had Collins in in Minnesota. Maybe he'll get a little action there. But I think this is this is a good problem for the Cowboys. I mean, we've seen this time and time of getting years pass where one of those top linemen miss all you know, the you know what hit the fan. Now, we're extremely deep, extremely deep bones person.

The person filling in at left tackle for tiring was consistently steal now and Seki started and then quickly still took

over there. So I'm just gonna go back in terms of they weren't putting lc it left. They were putting steal it left because he was he was your he was your right tackle at that point, right he But I would that's the move I would make. Maybe they didn't know something we don't, because why if Tyren Smith went down, why wasn't Lyell the first one to go up in there? I mean, I understand the second was a time of second. He's been here for a while, but he's not. He's nowhere near the player that the

rest of these tackles are. I don't think it's that easy. Well, you offensive line, I don't know how easy it is. No, no, no, no, no. I mean I've never done it, but I did play wing on punt and I know kickstepping from from the left side. The kickstepping from the right and heavy your if your right hand down and dominant or left hand dominant. I know that's a big difference, especially if you're play

and tackle in the National Football League. From I don't think it's that easy to switch from right to left now. I don't play the position, but I just wouldn't miss up my main Terren steals flow. So that as we get wind up the show here, Collins play left tackle in college. By the way, do you let he can do it with the bones first? Or Tyren Smith? You're facing a Bronco team four and four Noval Miller, no von Miller. Do you sit him out this week? Try to get him some rest and then go steal Collins

as your left. From what we know about Tyren Smith and his health over the last few seasons is we need to be really, really cautious with how we have him going forward this season. So if you do have an opportunity to rest him to make sure he's one hundred percent moving forward in the season, I would take it resting. I mean, there's there's more important games out there. There's a longer season that these cowboys want to get into.

They want to get into that playoff push, and like McCarthy always says, we're gonna need all of our players to do so, So I'm like this, rest him. Why not the division's track. You gotta three, three game lead on the division. Cowboys are six and one, Phillies in second place at three and five. We've proven that we can beat lesser teams without having without being at full capacity. So I'm resting them. Even if you take an l here, you still got that momentum going. Just wrest them for
