like my boy. Double g Garrett Gilbert out here man when he steps on, when he steps up there, the line of scrimmage is trouble it's trumble. Yes, yes, yes, he won't. He won't be stepping to the to the huddle this week. You will let his time is coming here. You haven't seen the last. The double g out here. We have not seen the last. Oh lord, I'm very scrugs. Come along with Barry Church, Danny mccraig. Church mccraig played

for the Cowboys. I just simply covered the Cowboys. Uh. We only did a couple of shows last week, and we switched up shows, so we ended we ended up we ended the players lives with different people. So I was doing the show the last two days last week with with Jesse Holly and Everson Walls, two former Cowboys players, and so you guys went on different podcasts, so I've

been eager to hear. How did it go? Well? You know, I was on the I was on the break over there with Derek and uh Isaiah stand back and we had Kurt over there as well. So we had some good dialogue, man, and it was very organized. Man. Um, it was a cool though. It was a cool cool show, cool podcast. I will say, Man, it's nothing like the Players Lounge. Um, this is the best show by far. But it was a cool show to be on. It

was something different. Yeah, dere Derek said, Barry and Isaiah are heavily drinking to kool like they were passing it back and forth about how I wasn't both of them yeah go in the east. So I had to say I had to pepper them up. I had to pepper them up a little bit. At first day. They weren't kind of on the on the train. But they're on it now. They're on it with me and my boy Big Mike Man. So y'all should too because this ncating

up up. So let me tell you something. Listen, it sounds like you have a renewed a batch of kool Aid since you went on this Bible week he came back. It sounds like you're reinvigorated and you're really really standing by this. And now it's even more. Let's get Andy Dalton out of there and put Gilbert in and that's and that's who's gonna carry us to the playoffs. Okay, all right, whatever whatever you say. Man, We didn't talk about that on Hanging with the Boys. We had a

great time. Nobody was drinking the kool aid on that show, so I felt like I fit right in Uh, you know, I tried to try to talk to him about getting us some wingstop. But you know, we had a great time. We had some great conversation, no kool aid, So it was fine with me these shows, as Chris Being could tell you that the players lounge and great. As we got into Jesse Holly's New York style croc pot ribs. He doesn't use a smoker. Even though he's been in Texas now for having a day, he still likes to

do his ribs via crock pot. And I've come to find out that Jesse doesn't like turkey. So for Thanksgiving dinner, Jesse serving his famous ribs from the crock pot for Thanksgiving Thanksgiving dinner. So if you want you want some Thanksgiving ribs than Jesse Holly House, I'm with him on that, man. I'm with him on that because to me, I mean, Turkey's overrated. Man, I don't you know, I'm not a

big turkey guy. Like you know, I'm not gonna say I'm I'm you know, it's disgusting or anything like that, but you know, you know, Turkey is just it's just not my cup of tea. I'll put it, like, have you have you had a nice deep fried turkey? No, I have not had a deep fried turkey. Well you was good, though, I guess I heard it was good. I heard it was good. So you right for your life. I'm what's up? What it? Don't take nothing like that

smoking turkey, nothing like it. It's a totally different experience. I mean, preach it, Danny. I mean until I got to Texas the first time I had a deep fried turkey. Once you had that, brother, you don't want to go back to anything else. I mean, it's just not the same man. It is not the same man. By the way, to those of you checking out the players loud thall out your turkey, do not put it. Do not do that. Though a fire, you can't do that. You can't. You

can't do it. Because there's a guy. There's a guy foot works, famous chef named Tim Love being on Food Network, got a bunch of restaurants in Dallas, Fort work Um. Tim used to come up to to Channel five and on Wednesday, that was like the best day ever to go to the TV station. It was the day before Thanksgiving. And so Tim Love will be out there with our former reporter Brett Johnson, who passed away. They would be doing deep fried turkeys for the four or five, six

and six o'clock shows. So they're just you know, out there, live shot. If you see them in there, you know they put the turkey in and then they pull it out and they cut it up. And so that was my first experience with deep fried turkey. And let me tell you what, brother, we were eilabow when people to get in line to get that turkey. I mean every turkey d a turkey every hour. Man and I would be out there. So I never missed the Wednesday before

Thanksgiving because it was It's unbelievable. So Church, I'm telling you right now, you can go find I mean you can literally you can just go google it and help people people who will sell them to you. But get you one of those, man and mccrane go studio along on that. I might hook you up. Church, I might hook you up. Man. I look, I put Church on the Crawfish back in the day, so you know a little.

If I if I need, if I need to deep fried turkey, what I usually do when I'm at home in Houston and we have our family, our family thanksgivings, I usually deep fried turkey. But if I need to put put that ain't gonna fry for you, church, because you got some stuff to drop off to me. Anyway, we can exchange when you get here. That's a bet. That's a bet. I'm because you know what, McCray has never steered me wrong when it comes to food. So I'm gonna go ahead, and uh, I'm gonna go ahead.

Take his word for that one. You have to do the crawfish. I've never done the crawfish, so I've done it. I'm I'm addicted to them things, man, I'm gonna yeah, I'm addicted to them things. Man. Man, I'm telling you this and this dude and McCray he doesn't write, you know what I'm saying. He doesn't write. So hey, you had to go mess with McCrae on that one. Oh mc cray, you make it, you make you on crawfish. Oh yeah, man, make my own crawfish, crab legs, shrimp,

you know, corn potatoes, all that. All that we do. We do the whole nine. We do the whole nine. We get down, we get down. Forrest Gump over here, Bubba. That's all I tell hey, listen that you're right you're right, that's that's one of my favorite movies. Anyways, I'll take you, I'll take it. I'll have to check for Jesse to see it. Jesse see it. Jesse does his uh, his crawfish and the croc pot, so I check with him

on that too. No way, no, you can't. You can't do crawfits, no croc pot You can't even bowl you got you need you need a high you need a hot temperature, a rolling boil. You can't do that. No croc pile, Jesse. Jesse does. An amazing thing was the croc pots? Is Jesse Holley's is, mister croc pote. You're gonna make a whole croci book of recipes, you know. I gotta check to see if if Jesse put his croc pot ribs and the Cowboys cookbook, you know they put it out every year. You guys were in it

that Dallas. But I gotta see what Jesse's recipe was. I should have asked him that Chris being fined out, did Jesse did Jesse's croc pot ribs? They get into that that Dallas Cowboys cookbook that they make every year. I would like to know that. I would would like to know that. All right, So we're back together here, and let's just start off with the NFC East races. The Cowboys walked this week, Philadelphia ends up losing to the Giants. They got, I mean, they got Philly, Phillies

in first place three to five and one. They're at Cleveland coming up this week. Giants are going to buy there three and seven. Second place, Washington is two and seven and third place. They host Cincinnati this week, and the Cowboys are last two and seven and they're at Minnesota. So all right, mister koola drinker, tell me the path, the pathway here. If you see it now, the path is still what I said it was gonna be. We're

gonna sweep the rest of this NFC East. I mean, look after what y'all saw from Philadelphia against the Giants lad or against the Giants yesterday, no one's believing in them. I mean, Carson Wentz, it's like he's jumped off a cliff as far as his skills have gone. I mean, at one one point in time, this dude was like, you know, up for the MVP. He was it was going crazy on the league. But we haven't seen that same Carson Wentz since Frank took his talents over to

Indianapolis and became their head coach. So for me, I have no trust in Philadelphia. I think they'll drop the ball on this one, and that moves me to New York, who I think right now, New York overall, I think they're playing the best ball offense, defensively, you know, overall, I think they're bringing the best type of football out there. Do I think Danny Dimes has what it takes to

lead them to the playoffs? Hack? No, I mean he's a walking turnover as it goes, as far as he's like the same as Carson Wentz when it comes to turnover. So I don't believe in New York overall, and that brings me to Washington, who they looked good yesterday when they came back against Detroit, but once again, it was a little a little bit too late, And you know, I just don't believe in them overall either, and that brings me to the Dallas Cowboys. I mean, we're sitting

at two or seven right now. I think we're quite a half a game or maybe a full game back of the Philadelphia Eagles. You know, I would love to see lying there. Garrett Gilbert, we're last. I understand that, but game or a game back, and I would love to see Garrett Gilbert go out there and lead us. I think he has what it takes to lead this team. There. I know y'all over there sweating because everybody, you know, everybody was laughing at me when I said we were

gonna take this division weeks ago. But now I'm starting to come to fruition. All right, it's starting, It's coming my way. I can feel it now. I'm giving y'all one more chance, one more chance to church on this bad wagon. And Big Mike and y'all could be a part of this. Y'all could be part of special. What's happening? Have we beat Philly? Now we be Philly? This year? We lost? We lost the Philly It's because we had no back there. That's why. No, no, no, no nod.

Did we lose to Philly? A right, the same Philly team that you're talking about. Okay, so we lost to that Philly team. How did we beat uh? This Giants team? We had Dak Prescott and and we luckily got a special teams uh touchdown call back. That's how we beat New York. As you said that, did we beat him? Listen, listen, listen, listen. We got stopped by Washington, all right, and you all of us, you all of a sudden, you all of a sudden thing that we find to go sweet these guys.

Let me tell you something. New York is playing better than they played when they played against us. Danny Dames looks better than he than he looked when he played against us. And now Alex Smith, Alex Smith is gonna I think he's gonna catch He's gonna catch you on. And he got McLaren back there and Gibson and they stopped us without him, and we still gonna have that

issue because they are playing better as well. I think these these these teams are starting to play a little better, and I think we have our hands for with them. I don't know about this Gilbert thing you've got going on. Is just like he had a good game once and all of a sudden, he's he's a saving grace. I don't understand that. So I would stick with Anti Dalton

and see where he takes us. But I don't think that we're gonna be uh, We're gonna be first in the division and making that playoffer and I'm that kool aid is not getting sipped over here. And I don't know what they put in yours, but it's it's it's making you think crazy. Look, I was a fan of Dulton for you know, when he first I was like, you know what that's gonna be. That's a smart signing. Then when he took over for Dak and let us back against New York and I was like, man, this

dude got it. He got the juice. And then we came to Washington and then it just fell apart from me, and then I realized there's a reason why Andy Dalton was available on free agency. There's a reason since Natty was able to get Joe Burrow. There was a reason why he was able. They were able to get Joe Burrow first overall, and there's a reason why we brought him here to Dallas to back up. He's not the future.

The future is Garret Gilbert as our backup quarterback and the rest of this season he's gonna lead us to the playoffs. Man, I'm telling y'all, give me, y'all one more shot to drink this. He's he's he's gonna lead. He's gonna lead you to pay for my dinner. Nikka SAMs. That's where you're gonna lead you to. All right, that's that's the only place he lead you to. You are you are sadly mistaken if you listen. So how many wins we're gonna have at the end of the season again,

The first thing I've got to go back to and defend Andy Dalton in the Washington game. Uh, that offensive line is not good. Okay, that was not a good

offensive line. And and and so I'm sorry, you can't put that all on Andy. When there was no protection in that football game and the defense decided that they were still trying to figure things out and do Terry Poe was still you know, doing what he was doing. So you know, I'm sorry, no, no, no, no, that that's not all on and adults. I mean, the guy got c about Arizona decided to watch what about Arizona? You know Arizona, same thing. I mean, you saw Zach

Martin go out in that game. UM, offensive line wasn't good against Arizona, and the defense wasn't good either. It's this is bigger than just trying to sit up here and say hey, and don't we want you to be dad? I mean, I'm sorry, what did what did your ass tell you? Knui? What did your ass tell you? You know what? My eyes tell me this? The defense still got issues now that Trayvon Digs is gone. Now you depending on Chad Cheetah Woozier and he's he's been injured

this year. I still have some question marks about this defense. To see, can I buy what we saw the last game here or it was in a mirage. They've got to go face Dalvin Cook and the Minnesota Viking team. You know what they're about to do. They're gonna run, run, run, run, run.

Can you stop the run? UM? Is the offensive line improving and they're a little bit better off this bye week because we saw Joe Looney's now back starting the center, because because the rookie Tyler Beardish is out with a hamstringing. So this is offensive line keeps on changing. Man every week, it's a new offensive line. So to put it all on the quarterback, um, that's that's that's that's tough. Man.

That's tough to just put all this on a quarterback. Now, And as much as I like Garrett Gilbert, you and I know this. You know better than me because you played this league. Let him start to get some tape. Let folks start to get some tape. You are right about that. You are right about that, about getting the tape, I understand that. But what you also are right about. I mean, look this offensive line, they're starting to play a little bit better. This defense we saw the past

two weeks, they're starting to play a little bit better. Yeah, we lost Diggs. I understand that could be a big loss for us, but we're getting the Woozier back, so it ain't like we're just falling off a cliff. As the cornerback room, it's concerned. I mean, there is that cat over there and uh he was with New York. I think his name is what not dumb bar but Baker. He was involved in that in that incident earlier in the season, and he got put on the list. He's

out there, he's available. So there's guys out there we can get for this cornerback room if we need it. I think I think, I think I think we got what we need at the quarterback and hold on, hold on, y'all. Listen, y'all talking about Diggs and and following off a cliff like the secondary was good before he got hurt, like, oh your look, clip all right, Digs our secondary was rolling. Now Diggs is out. Now we're really in trouble. We wasn't rolling before. So let's not act like that's big

and and recepting. He was guy. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's fine. He called jeff he called two yesterday. We missed that guy. But listen, as as as new he mentioned Dalvin Cook is coming in here, and if you've watched him over the last couple of weeks, you know that we are that think that we're gonna get the best shot of

of trying to stop the run from Minnesota. Two. They still got Adam Feeling and Justin Jefferson back there, who can still put up numbers against the second there that the church is talking about not following off the cliff. There's still a big issue here. But the good thing about this for Church is he doesn't have us winning against Minnesota anyways. We're only gonna win this division games. So so so he's off the hook here. That doesn't even matter what happens in Minnesota. He's off the hook.

It doesn't matter. So he could sip his kool aid and talk any way that he wants to because this game is irrelevant as far as it goes. It's his path to get into the playoffs. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold on, Ain't nobody scared of Dalvin Cook? Ain't nobody scared of though feeling. Bring Ken folk cousins in here, whoever, whoever y'all want to bring in here, bring them in here. I think, you know, the beginning of the season show that they had some some real coaching issues, So I'm not sure how far that one goes. But I think Bones and Uh and Kellen can save their jobs if they're able to patch together some stuff and help this team win some games, go out here and play mistake free for for the majority of the rest of the season.

I think that they can. They can save their jobs, but the whole, the team as a whole, would have to play better, and they would have to show that they had a true effect on a turnaround for this team in order for that to happen. Uh. Yeah with me, you know, if what I believe is gonna happen, which is the Cowboys going on this run and winning the NFC East. I think these guys will, at least the heavy hitters at least, like the coordinators and the head coach,

I think they'll they'll save their jobs. I do believe with like McCray that you know, one of the position group position coaches might be hype out of there. Maybe the secondary coaches. We've seen too many ride receivers, you know, open within ten yards from the defensive back, So I think one of the position coaches might change. But overall, I think all the heavy hitters, that the coordinators, the

main guy, Mike, I think he'll stick around. Um if what happens, what I think is gonna happen is they're gonna win the NFC East. And for that to happen, I think the defense is gonna have to step up, which they have been doing these past two weeks. I think they're gonna have to get better against the run. I mean, interior wise, we saw what Neville Gallimore can bring to the table. I think this is a star

in the making. He was able to pretty much dominate Marquis Palency last or yeah, last week, and that's one of the better centers in the National Football League. So if he can continue doing that, I think you have something on the interior side of your your defensive line. But overall against the run, we're gonna have to step up. Losing digs so I don't know. Outside on that corner is huge because you know, he's been the guy that kind of challenge that number one receiver on the other

side of the ball. So hopefully it will can step up as well. But for me, the defense is gonna have to play better for us to get a turnaround going for the rest of the season. Goodness, hold on, hold on, We're real quick, real quick, Newly, I've never seen somebody crowns crown guys as up and coming stars so fast in my entire life. Neverthe balla or all of a sudden is a start in the making because you saw him like one game and then and Gilbert

all of a sudden is starting to making. They're going to carry us to the NFC E Championship because you saw him perform and one game. This islate the word play man, that's what you said. That's I have one question for you, though, I think it's mathematically possible for the NFC champion to only have four wins. If we win the NFC Championship with four wins, is that the same to you? It's saving the coaches as it would be for us having going six and ten. Yeah, without

a doubt. I think if they if they win four games and go to the playoffs by winning four games, I think they get to running back just for the simple fact that they made the playoffs with losing all these Look how many all pros they lost. They lost to kuld be one, they lost both their tackles. I mean, I'm just letting y'all know. And then it hold up back to back to this starting. Did you see what he was doing to Marquis Pouncy out there. That's one

of the best centers in the league. I said he has the potential to be a star, to make it. And don't get me started about my boy double gu boy double G out there. He's got the momentum rolling. I never said he was going to be a star. I said he could be the future backup quarterback. But he has that momentum going. I'm going with him over

Andy Dalton. But I mean, you know, if he leaves us decisions, if he leaves the team to six and ten and makes them and go to the playoffs, and it happens to win a game, then that's a start to make it. I mean, I mean, that's what you hoping for, right. He's not gonna be anybody's back up if he if he ends up doing that, Oh, He's definitely gonna be a backup. He's definitely gonna But I think he can't he can ride this wave. Man. Look, I gave y'all'all opportunities to jump on board, you know,

but y'all didn't want to take those. They take that opportunity. It's okay, James, don't show up at there, don't show up at the parade. Don't show up at the parade. All right, let me make sure I get this correct. Church. You've got winning the NFC East at six and ten, yep, yes, okay, yes, So if the Cowboys finished six and ten, there will not be a Mike Nolan running back next year. Okay, that's not going to happen. You don't get you going six ten with a defense the worst in the sixty

year history of the franchise. You don't get to run it back. Okay, let me throw this at you though, you know they go six and ten, but there's a nice running there, Like, what if their defense is just this last just last stretch, they're playing lights out ball, they get to the playoffs, you don't think he running back. Mike Nolan is not going to be back Mike Nolan back if if Mike Nolan isn't you know, and here's

the other thing that comes in it. Not only will Mike Nolan go, there's going to be significant changes within that defense because if you bring in another guy to run the four to three, okay, because because that's what they're gonna run, they're going they're built for the four to three. They're gonna run the four three. Um, this person is going to bring in some some the coaches

that he wants here. Um. One of the things for me, which I would love to sit down if I'm Jerry Jones and say, tell me we we we saw Lake vander esh his rookie and play go to the Pro Bowl, play the Pro Bowl level on the week side, Why do we put him into the middle linebacker spot and he's coming off a neck injury in the first game out he breaks his colli bo and why are we putting Jalen Smith out here in coverage where dudes on the other side light up, Oh fit in four, let's go.

I mean, I just have a hard time unders saying of what I've seen from Mike Nolan. Mike Nolan's the guy's like, hey, we got to get bigger upfront. He signed up on down Terry Poe. He was he was good with that, and left him out there forever to day. And we saw Nevin Gallimore, who had a good game. Nevin Gallimore sitting up here in mothball. It's not even activated. I'm sorry. The Mike Nolan thing that can't be fixed for me. That's that's done. I've seen enough. I don't

need to see it run back. If you know, he's not the only defensive coordinator who had to get his football team ready to go in the COVID era. I'm sorry. I don't feel like he took advantage of the players he had. They didn't buy any what he wanted to do. There was a lack of trust. So I'm sorry, Mike. Mike Nolan's got to go. And then whoever they bring in to run the four to three, they need to

bring in some of the guys they're comfortable with. So we need to start making a list of four three dudes who could be available to come in and take over this defense. Because six and ten winning the division, I'm sorry that didn't get your pass to come back. How far are you gonna lorder? How far are you gonna loader? Standard? Barry? He loaded him the four ten. He said, y'all lowered at the four and ten. I'm still going six and ten and we're gonna win a division.

I said, if we win the division. If we win a division at four and ten, is that the same for you? It's six and ten. They get the running back because they want a division the playoff. Well, I'm sorry, four and twelve. If they win a division at four and twelve something the same. I can see that something. If you can at four and twelve but still win a division, something's got to change. Five. Somebody seen something. But that's not gonna happen because we're not going four

and twelve. We're going six and ten. And I can see them making a run. I can see it. But do you hear yourself? Six and ten? You say, come on back, Mike, No, give me more of this. I need some more if we had no we had, we had no OTAs, nobody did season games that incorporating a whole new system. I gotta give him another shot, at least big Nobody, get Big Mike another shot.
