The following is a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club. This is the player's label broadcasting line from Dallas Cowboys World headquarters at the Star. Now your hosts Bury Church, Danny McCray, and NEWI Scrugs. Welcome to Monday. The Dallas Cowboys take a twenty three to nine loss on Sunday Night football to the Philadelphia Eagles. With a chance to go into first place, the Cowboys
lose their third straight football game. I'm doing Scrugs, longtime Cowboys reporter, joined by former Dallas Cowboys safety's Barry Church and Danny McCray. All right, McCray, you you're right. I mean, you know your pick was pretty much the closest of the picks that we had on Friday. You would dick today thirty to fourteen Philly when I went thirty two to ten Philly and Church with twenty four to seventeen Cowboys. So but pray you you were the closest to mark
on it. Listen, absolutely, you know I'm not gonna try to steal the Nostra Dumin's name, but uh, I think I'm doing a little better than than than that guy. And you got one game. You one game. Listen, knew it, knew it if you really think about it. My pick and your pick got him to flip his pick over because it sounded like he was going with the Eagles, I mean with the Cowboys beating the Eagles before we
got to Friday's pick. So I'm just saying, you know, uh, you know, one game, one game, one game is cool, and that one game that I picked, you still lost the spread in that one. So I mean, it's just it's just not good for you. Bro. What was your score this game? What game? What did you for? Dick? I picked thirty to ten. That was the final score. You went, You went thirty to uh, thirty to fourteen, fourteen,
thirty to fourteen. Oh yeah, I said. I said that we would score on special teams, or we would score defensive touch down, some some type of spark play, which we got. We got a very very close hold on hold on it was my score again. You went twenty four to seventeen, Philly. I mean Dallas Dallas winning Dallas Dallas. How is how is the mass picked closer than mine? You picked the Cowboys to win? No? I didn't, No, no, no, no, he changed. He changes the Philly at the end, he
changed the Philly. Wait wait wait, let me let me check, let me check, let me check, let me check. Grab that handy bad, grab all that don't want go in my name. No s jomis around. Like he said. He said the cowboys, he said, the cowboys with cover. The heck is wrong with what you were doing. Yeah, he said the Cowboys would cover. They did not. The Cowboys did not not. They did not cover. So basically, Church, you went one. We went one on one on this bet, we went two, and because we got, we got the
winner and we got the spread curred. Now, if we were betting in Vegas where they just sit around here and they just say you gotta way about the spread, you definitely would have lost your money. But this is true. I would have lost my fifty cent on that one. Here's what's crazy. We all thought the Cowboys would score a touchdown. Danny, you thought they'd scored two. Church, you
thought they scored two. They have not scored a touchdown the last two weeks, gentleman, And that is because we're talking about things that haven't happened since the franchise started in nineteen sixty. We're talking about that type of utility here where the offense cannot score any points. And while Dak Prescott is not playing, Dak Prescott is making himself a lot of money by not playing, just by the simple fact that this team cannot generate anything at all.
I said, I was excited to see Ben d Nucci on Friday, and I was excited for the first possession, and the excitement stopped. It stopped, man, and you just realized that knew it, knew he Come on, man, you was you was not excited to see he was not excited to see the Nucci. I'm excited. I'm excited. I'm excited. Listen and listen and listen. If you if you're being real with yourself, you're excitement on the first drive was double reverse reverse wildcat. It was. It wasn't even excitement
for something that Ben de Nucci was doing. It was it was the play calling that he was pulling out of there for Boys State. So no, I don't I don't want to hear nothing about being excited for the Nucci. Church thought he was gonna be the guy yes or swag and all that sort of stuff. He was swag lists out there and bumbling the ball, you know, overthrowing people. If it wasn't for Gallup catching those those extended running players that that I talked about they needed to do that,
it would have been way way worse than it was. Yeah, it was. It was kind of. It was tough, man. It was a tough outing for my boy de Nucci out there. You know, I thought coming into this game he might have had a spark, he might have showed something. We heard all about this twenty one mile an hour speed.
And I'll be honest with you, man, he couldn't turn the corner on anybody out there, and he just looked kind of I mean, I understand it was his first start, he didn't have any ltas, he didn't have any preseason games, but he did kind of look, you know, kind of timid out there. I don't know if the moment was too big. He just kind of looked kind of scared out there to me. But overall, there goes my camera messing up there. At least they're not showing you right now.
They showing the screen. They showing the screen. Let me tell you this. Let me tell you this because I went on Twitter last night and I posted, do we have a one hundred million dollars receiver? And man, I'll tell you what, some of the people they've miss understood what I was saying, and they went back and forth for all this time. I'm sitting here watching Gallup catch passes.
I'm watching CD LAMB catcher pass, I'm watching shots cats, I'm watching everybody catcher pass except the guy that's making one hundred million dollars. And it's supposed to be our best playmaker. If that's our best playmaker, you should design someplace to get the ball in his hands, be it run or past handoff catch, any of that. The only player that I've seen and they had designed was I think one of the receivers was running the double reverse.
He was supposed to throw it to Coop and he ended up getting stopped before that by I think by Fletcher cops. But so, yeah, yeah, it does. It doesn't make no sense to me how you don't plan to have this guy get the ball in his hands because he's one of the most dynamic players that we have on the roster. I don't understand that. So, Danny, what you're saying is Kellen Moore did not call a good game in your eyes. No no, no, no, no, no no no. I'm saying that the same thing I've been
saying since the beginning of the season. The offense should go around twenty one. At that time, it was four and nineteen. We've seen what nineteen can do when he gets the ball in his hands and you give him some time to make a guy miss any of that. We haven't seen the offensive offensive plan be that. And it was it was that for Gallup last last night. It was that for the tight end that last night, and it was that for Ceedee Lamb last night, and
it wasn't that for nineteen. And it doesn't make any sense to me. I'm not saying he called a bad game. I thought he started off with some creative stuff. He tried to go to the well too many times on the reverse and then you know, it just kind of fell apart. But you have to get nineteen involved one because he's making a hundred million dollars too, because we've seen what he can do with a little bit of space if you give him an opportunity. Amari Cooper got
his first catch in the fourth quarter. He ended up with five targets and one catch in this football game. Had your fantasy against a depleted secondary, yeah, out of the game. Yeah, so he wasn't able to do nothing against those boys. I mean that that's a bad sign, man, that is a bad sign. Yeah. My fantasy team has Zeke and Coop on it. So luckily, I'm playing a
guy that scored to score very low. So I'll be all right because I got Tampa's deef us tonight, so and I got Lena Fournette, so I'll make up some points. But you know, besides that, I'm just tired of seeing us have a hundred million dollar guy and we're not acting like he's a hundred million dollar guy. And it's and at some point it's not even his fault. It's like, Bro,
you're the offensive coordinator. You're looking at this guy and you're not gonna give him a chance to make some of those big players that you're giving other people chances to make it. And so it is perplexing to me. So are you not putting are you not putting anything on him? Are you saying, like, you know, basically as the play call and that's got him out of his rhythm or he just can't get open against anybody out there are you? How are you putting that last last night?
I'm putting it on the play call because you didn't have been the Lucie back there. So you can't expect him to be throwing seeing routs the coop and and a whole bunch of out routes and you know something creative. But you can find a way to get the ball in his hands if you watch, let's say this compared to the Rams and Robert Woods. Robert Woods doesn't only catch passes down the field, he gets jet sweeps. He
it's creative ways to give him the ball. You see him with a rust TD, you see what receiving TV. Sometimes you might even see him with a PASTD. These guys are are are there, big time players and they're finding ways to get the ball in these guys hands. And we haven't done that specifically with a Mark Cooper. And now is going to Zeke. You know, besides a couple of wildcat plays, you know him and Paulard are getting almost the same amount of snaps, like meaningful snaps.
I don't understand, do you think, but do you think the Zeke deserves more snaps? Absolutely? That's what the rock in his hands yes, yes, let me tell you why. Let me tell you why, because if you discredit and Zeke based off just this the beginning of this season and you forget what he's done for us to get him paid, then you're you're making a mistake. This guy still has the ability to make those big plays you have to get give him an opportunity to get some
runs fall forward. And then I've seen people like saying, yeah, well he ran the wrong way on one play. Listen, he's done that before and he's running for twenty or thirty yards. So you can't just tell those running backs to follow follow a certain way. These guys are playmakers because they see stuff that we can't see and sometimes they work and sometimes it doesn't. But that's not a way a reason to discredit him and say, look, get polity in because he hit the gap faster than Zeke did.
That's dumb. But Danny, I'll back you up on this. And here's how I'm backing you up. In this game, is Zekla had nineteen carries. Do you realize Boston Scott had just four less carries than him? And Ben d Nucci throw the ball forty times. Okay, I got a
problem with that forty times for a rookie quarterback. We know what Dak Prescott's throwing the ball forty times and Tony Romos throwing the ball forty times, Detroitman, when you just look at Cowboy history, when these guys are throwing the ball forty times plus some more in the game, they're losing. There's no way in the world that kid needs to be throwing the ball forty times. And Zeke only had nineteen carries. You gave him ninety million dollars.
Can you please use the guy? How did the Cowboys get good? How did Jason Garrett win Coach of the Year. How did they get a number one seed twenty sixteen? It was because they went with the run game. When you look at the first three years of his career, this thing was built around Ezeko Elliot and they won football games. I go back to DeMarco Murray's last year and what I considered the best year of football for Tony Romo. They were running the football and using the
play action pass. I'm sorry, Mike mccarthur, this is the one thing I asked him about in his press conference, and I feared that twenty one would not get used properly. They should run this dude until his tongue falls off. Man should be hanging out after games. Man, he should be sore walking after games. Man. Nineteen carries against this team in which you one time of possession and they were trying to give you the win. Man, that's just not good. Little and I agree with both of you
guys are saying. I think Zeke needs to get more carries and they need to get him more involved. But when we go back to those other teams that the Marco Murray teams or success Jason Garrett had even with Zeke early in his season, they all had one thing in common. They had that solidified offensive line there. They had somebody to lean on and can get Zeke when he get touched until he was five yards down the line. So for me, I do think he needs to get the ball more. I do need to think they need
to incorporate him more. And for me, I'm putting this more on killing more than anybody because the straw to me that broke the camel's back man just had me frustrated and almost turned the TV off. Was I think we were I think it was either the second half of the first half, we're driving. The ball was strictly runs.
I mean it was like Zeke here, left, Zeke right, paul It here, paul It here, and out of nowhere, I mean it was like, I don't even know how to explain it, but out of nowhere we pull out some double reverse out of I don't even know where it came from, lost ten yards. Flexer Cox came in there blew the whole play up. I think it was gonna be a double reverse pass by Cedric Wilson, and
that just blew all our momentum. I mean it was just to me, I just couldn't understand the play call, and it was kind of frustrating like that all night long. So for me, I gotta put this one on k moore man and go here with killing more too. This is, this is, this is And this also made me upset because I'm watching the game and I'm listening to us. You know how we talk about you should predicate the game off the run game, and then you know, after that, dude,
play action. I think we ran like two running plays, one of them was out of Wildcat, and then we came and ran play action on first down the next drive and I was like, we haven't sold them on the run, and they blew it up. Bro, nobody fell forward. I think I think he got hitting them off. And I'm sitting there like, nobody believe was the she was about to run that ball, bro, because they've seen what you've done in the past, and we're on the second
drive of the game. You haven't even done anything to make them believe that Zeke is a problem. And you go out here and you're running on first on first down, and I was like, yeah, this is they created a play calling is out of there. It's gone. Now it's gone. And look, kids a little and I'm sorry to go ahead and keep pounding on my guy, the Nucci here. But little kids that are watching the show and all
that stuff. Look, there's only one Patrick Mahomes, all right, this is the one guy that can throw the throw it behind his backthrow it black. There's only one of those, all right. My guy came out here yesterday last night and he threw about three or four of those little side like he was trying to manipulate the ball around defenders should have had more than one intercepted. A look, just just to throw the ball regular. There's only one. Pat Mahomes, don't try that side on the stuff. It
ain't gonna work. Man. Let me let me get one more on the Nuccie because knew you on Twitter, just like I am Church. I'm not sure how often you on there, but the internet is still undefeated. All right. Somebody goes back and they find a tweet from the Nucci back in twenty fourteen talking about how horrible Tony Romo is and we go out there and we see
you talk. You talk about full circle, all right, and not knowing what you also for this kids, be be careful, right if you have aspirations to play in the National Football League, be careful of how you critique some of these players, because they don't find it. They come back and get you. How do you feel about that tweet? Now the Nucci come on man, twenty fourteen. They carry your receipts from twenty fourteen. Oh man, ain't nobody say it?
Ain't nobody. They're gonna find it. Man, if you go out there still come to join it like you did, you know, and that's what happens. You know, Hey, listen, thank God for Gallup. I'm telling you, because without Gallup and them throwing those little sharp passes. It would have just been atrocious fellas for me. And we're getting on Calla Moore about the lack of play calling when it
comes to running the football, Philadelphia was worse. I mean, here was a team in the first and first half for a while, they were averaging seven yards per carry, and they stopped running the football and didn't let Carson Wentz not only throw the football like I was, throwing interceptions and just doing dumb stuff. My gosh, direct the regression of Carson Wentz sad. I mean, it is sad. Michael Lombardi, Michael Lombardi called him broken from NFL Jim
He's called him a broken quarterback. I'm like, you know, he's probably right, but I couldn't, for the life for me understand why, Phillies, folks, Doug Peter's why were you all reluctant to run the football against the team that was giving up one hundred and seventy two yards a game at Boston. Scott was out here looking like young Darren Sprawls. I just shook my head watching this, and I'm just very frustrated as a football fan as I'm just sitting here saying, wait a minute, why are we
trying to be cute. If you've got something that's working, if you're running, make them stop the run. It's simple football. But everyone is so in love with throwing the football, man, And for me, it's one of my biggest pet peeves when I see these coaches who are either head coach through quarterbacks or these offensive coordinators who are former quarterback, because it always goes to the very thing of throw, throw, throw,
throw through. Bill Parcels used to have an issue with that stuff, and he's like, man, you have to make these play callers run the ball because they all want to sit up here and throw. They all want to tell you how creative they are. And my goodness, gracious Philly loses that game against the team with a winning record, they will this team's going nowhere fast. We already know it. But just the idiocy to watch Philadelphia put Carson went
further into a hole that this man was diggy. It was just that was just that was that was hard to watch. Man. I'm sitting there and watching it from a cowboy perspective, guys, but I'm like, what are they doing? This is bad? I knew it. I can tell you. I can tell you exactly what they were doing, all right. Peterson was on the sideline saying, look, if Carson Wentz throws the ball with any type of accuracy, just any type of accuracy, we will have fulgam on twenty seven
all day long. And that he called it, and he called it, and he called it. After a while he realized Carson Wentz was just throwing Aaron thows that didn't make no sense, but it was barbecue checking out there for a man twenty seven. I'm glad he got those two picks because Carson Wentz, you know, he threw him right to him and he made the plays. But this dude is gonna have a long season of guys going
at his neck for speaking for the entire game. Speaking of twenty seven, man, you know, I gotta give my guy a little bit of kudos. Man. I mean, his memory is just it's unbelievil. You say you gotta have a short term memory when you're playing defensive back. I mean this, he gotta have. He gotta be the best at that. I mean he's gotten beat left and right, but then all of a sudden he turns around and makes a miraculous play. And he's getting up. No, no,
like it's just I mean, he got the intangibles. Man, he just gotta work with his technique a little bit. But he's definitely a fighter, and he's somebody you know you could go to war with, you know, you know I could. I could definitely see him as a teammate. So I got I got a little bit kudos, even though he was getting skirt out there a little bit. See with that second kind, you can see it with
that second kind. I don't know about that, you know, come on, don't the deuce, don't do come on, come on, do it right now, right now. He's earned a tender. Right now, he's earned a tender. He'll he'll get his tender after for I don't know about second year day. He earned the tender. He earned a tender off that game. The fight alone, the light alone, man, the fight alone. Man. I'm telling you you can go to war with that. You can go to war with desolitely. Okay, all right,
that's what got your look talking about just fight. We don't care if you give up nine fight game out, fight still only a game out. Some news in
the National Football League. Jimmy Garoppolo expected to miss a few weeks with a high ankle sprain for the San Francisco forty nine and forty nine Ers. Tight End George Kittle expected to miss eight weeks with a broken bone in his foot. So the forty nine season is it's getting tougher now say this, They'll probably be better off without Jimmy Garoppolo, who played horrible football yesterday. I think the backup quarterback over in San Francisco is a better
football player, But no, George Kittle is going to hurt. Now. The dumbest thing I saw yesterday, gentlemen, I think you probably will agree with me, is happening in the Bears and the Saints game in Chicago, when Chicago wide receiver Javon Wims got suspended two games for fighting. Sitting up here punching a Saints player in the helmet. In the helmet, what are we doing? It got himself kicked out of the game. So you lose two game checks, and so I dived into the numbers to see, Okay, so what
exactly is young mister WiM's making. He makes two hundred and fifty thousand dollars this year, seven seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars this year, so that's what he's making. So you've just lost two game checks. Man, This is I mean, this is just and you're you're hitting a helmet, okay, since you're not even hurt the guy. Um, that's just the dumbest thing I've ever seen, guys, Yeah, it was.
It was dumb. One yeah, it was dumb one two accounts. One, First of all, you're losing paychecks, all that good stuff. And then too, what damage do you think you're gonna inflict on somebody? What a helmet on? I mean, these guys are going at each other, hitting helmet to helmet, going you know, fastest. Heck, do you think your fist is gonna go through there and do some damage? I mean, that was probably one of the dumbest I don't care
what twenty two did beforehand. He said he disrespected him somehow, some way. But you're telling me each one of those punches you're thrown is worth that losing that paycheck. I mean, it's just outstanding to me that people do some of the dumbest stuff. I mean, like I always stop, you know, fighting on the football field, not even in practice. It's
just a waste of energy. Man. You're already tired from going at each other banging all the time, and now you want to start fighting and wasting even more energy and missing paychecks. You're right now, this is probably the dumbest thing out of seeing maybe in my whole career. It was stupid. It was stupid. It's dumb to me for two reasons. One, like I said, it looked so unprovoked, like like nothing was going on. You weren't have to do like you tried to make a whole theatrical thing
out of it. That's dumb. One, he should be released, in my opinion, if I was GM probably goes there. He would be straight up released off the team. One, you don't have no respect for the game all your teammates, because if you watch that game, that play changed everything for them. They went and lost fifteen yards after that, I think they had to punt and then you know, whatever happened, then the Saints end up coming back and coming and winning the game. So in my mind, he
cost him the game. He he don't had no respect for us teammatesers. They out there fighting and Clawn trying to come back doing everything they can, and you cost them that. And then you just don't have no respect for anybody, bro because you like, that's some stuff you might see on the street. You don't see that on the football field. You know, usually it's like somebody going too hard on the play and then they just get locked up and do you see some punchers throw It
was nothing like that. If you if you ever had the chance to go watching. You gotta go see it, because just us saying that somebody threw some punches is not telling them the whole story. It was. It was bad, It was just so. And then like I don't understand, like when he threw the first punch and the dude didn't react Number twenty two for them Saints. He got hit and he didn't react. He kind of just looked around,
like what is this dude doing? And then he just had to provoke it even more and throw another one and jump on top of the guy. I mean, this might have been the dumbest thing I've seen since twenty eighteen when Fournette ran off the bench to go fight the dude from the Buffalo Bills, so that I mean, those two these are both similar, and it was just some of the dumbest things I've ever seen in my life.
That was crazy. Now, I know good mathematician, but when I broke it down, and I'm just thinking of the seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars, I'm not sure what he has in terms of roster bonuses or anything like that, but I just went in there and broke down a seven hundred fifty thousand dollars and just you know, two game checks and he's going to miss that's ninety four thousand dollars. Man, that's that's that man, And he's probably not gonna see the rest of them because, like mccrai said,
he you know, he might be released after this. I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if he was. Like you're telling me that fight, those couple of punches are worth that, I mean it is. Man, that's a mistake. Let me let me, let me help your math out. Because they're up there in Chicago, and I played up there in Chicago, and they state taxes they got they got state tax up there, right, So if you say seven fifty, you know you almost cut that in half. I give a
little leeway. You're looking somewhere like three sixty three seventy minus ninety to fold taxes. Man, you out there playing for freed, especially if you get from agent fees, agent feed don't don't forget about the agent fees whatever whatever you're paying for cost living out there, because you render the place. You ain't stayed at the hotel, you the rent of the place. Now you got to move all your stuff back to where you came from. This stuff
added up like that. Them two punches cost that man a lot of money, and you might see some guys who might not some teams that might not even touch this guy just based off what he did. Yep. Yeah, once you get that label, it's hard to get back from that label. Man, Which goes back to what I said to start. This is the dumbest thing I've seen when you start to think about that. I thought, your great job laying out all the other repercussions that what
comes with this McRae. And just from the sense of why you know why, I mean, you didn't even get your money's worth. There's none of it. Really got children money he's worth out of this, you know now. And look, if this was hey, Andy Dalton, you know last week, if you were running up in the end and hit go hit John Bostick because Andy Dalk got popped it maybe with somebody, because but this this was this was this,
this was bad and you know it's coach dump. It's coach just jumped on him after the game in the media. So the coach, the coach didn't have any sympathy for he went out there. I thought you were what you did was foolish and dumb, and as you said, it changed moment, changed my minim of the football game here. So yeah, nothing about what he did was honorable. Nothing he did was smart. It was just all bad, bad, bad.
And you're right too, Danny, when you start talking about where you play and the kind of taxes you pay, man, you know, that's that's something that I learned the hardway, and therese, that's what happen. You learned it the hard way. I remember when I lived in Ohio, Man, because I came from Texas, all right, So I was working in Austin and got to cover the Cowboys and that their last Super Bowl team with Jimmy So I got to cover the Cowboys, and then I went up to Cleveland.
So but the first time to get the whole tax thing, I found out I had to pay federal tax. I had to pay tax to the state of Ohio. I had to pay tax to the city of Cleveland because I worked at the TV station in the city of Cleveland. And then I lived in this town. I lived in this town called Westlake, and I had to pay the town of Westlake, Texas. I got taxed four weeks I was like, what, what, what are you talking about? I thought, man,
I was I was mad. I couldn't believe it because West Lakes a richie area too, so I know you was property taxes. Man. Man, I'll tell you what. I'm glad I was fortunate enough to play in Dallas and in Jacksonville there ain't no state taxes, so I saw every piece of that. But I know, my boy, man, he's hurting right now. That's a lot of money's dogs. But by the way, by the way, side, note, the best team in Ohio is not a Cincinnati Bengals. By the way. Uh couldn't as great as Joe Burrows lighting
them up. Aby, whoa, it looks nice. And I'll tell you what Joe Burrow has brought to Cincinnati. You know, the same confidence and the swagger that they had at LSU. But Joe is from that area, and the Cincinnati fans have a Yeah, they truly have one of their own who's leading them. And I just hope the Browns family doesn't mess this up. I mean I really do. I mean,
they've they have essentially the guy they've always wanted. Okay, here's here's a hometown guy, and they draft a lot of Ohio State products through the years because they like drafting those guys. You have a hometown guy right there from that area who understands that area. Please don't mess this up in the draft. They need to be looking at every good offensive lineman they can because they have
a future here. They have some building blocks, They've got receivers, you've got good run game between Mixing and Giovanni Bernard. Add some more pieces to your defense. But Cincinnati's on its way and to me and yeah, I don't know how much you guys watch of the Chargers game yesterday, but the Justin Herbert kid that they ended up drafting
this coming around. Yeah, this kid's coming around. So so if you are drafting high and you have the ability to get you get ahold of a Trevor Lawrence, and you have the ability to get ahold of adjustin fields, You're seeing more and more of these guys ready to come to the NFL and play. Now. I'm not saying either one is going to be as good as Joe Burrow, but my goodness, gracious, you see what happens when you have a quarterback and I think it's the go ahead
doing my back ahead. No no, no, no, no, no, no, no, what was it? No, I was just gonna say, I think it has a lot to do with the development at a younger age now. I mean, you see a lot of these kids, especially the kids down south or on the West Coast, they have like seven on seven camps during spring, they have spring football. I mean, there's so many of these elite passing camps that kids are going to from when they're ten years old and on.
You just see a lot more arm talent and a lot more development in these young kids to where when they get to college or when they when they get to the pros. I mean, they're just so like leaps and bounds of head of head of what it used to be back in the day. So I just think we're gonna get more and more of these young talented quarterbacks coming into the league and setting it on fire.
And for and for Joe Burrow, it was that. Plus you remember Joe Brady got a hold of Joe Burrow the year he won the Husman before he loved he brought that Saints offense in there, and it just changed everything for Joe Burrow because before, before, before he got there, nobody expected Joe Burrow to do anything because we were running offense, and then you saw him be able to pick up the Saints offensive NFL offense and he was
able to translate that. Now to Cincinnati and those guys, they could have a winning record right now because they've been competitive in all their games and they go out there and they beat uh they beat the Titans, and they also have a tie. So you watch off for Cincinnati. That's why that's why we say Church, you know, winning the East is not gonna be that easy because Cincinnati is one of those games that we all counted as
a win at the beginning of the season. It's funny from aj Green though, No, No, I mean I don't think they need to move on from AJ Green. I mean not right now. I mean right now, Ajan right now. But but but after the season, Well, that's why you drafted T Higgins and you've got Tyler Boyd show. No, they're not gonna I gotta pay for eight for him. I mean they could go in and get it, you know,
get another type of receiver next year. Lord. No, if the cap is going down the way everybody says, there's gonna be some serious bargains out there, so so you can move on from aj Green after the season, But right now, I like how he's got three legitimate options out there and if they can find a tight end that they can also get out here and make some moves for them. I mean, I love what they're doing
with Joe Burrow and Barry. I'll go back to what you said, and here's what I really do, truly feel that the NFL has decided to be smart enough to let's take some of these college concepts of what these quarterbacks know and let's incorporate them into the NFL. I love how Pep Hamilton has worked with Justin Herbert, the quarterback coach out there with the Chargers, and I don't know if Anthony Lynde is going to keep his job after the season because they keep finding ways to lose wins.
I mean they're truly wins. They're a double digits. They got wins in bag and they just find a way to get them away. So Pep Hamilton could be free. But I tell you what, whoever is out there, you better go snag Pep Pep Hamilton because what he's done with Justin Herbert has worked wonders. These coaches who are smart are realizing what did these guys do at school?
How do we incorporate it? How do we work with Andy Reid may be the best where they sat Patrick Mahomes for a year, understood what he could do with Texas Tech. They've implemented some of those things and look at where they're gone. Bill O'Brien for a much criticism, and rightfully so he's gotten. This guy has put Deshaun Watson in some good situations when he was down there in Houston before getting fired. But man, you look at these dudes, what are you doing in college? Can you
bring that to them? I love Justin Fiel. I don't think people talking about uugh about Justin Fields. I mean, Trevor Lawrence is a fantastic player, and I've seen Trevor Lawrence play a person. First thing I saw was this is a big dude. He's gonna be a good player. But Justin Fields, to me, has that ability to come in here and play like a Justin Herbert and be a contributor that we've seen some of these guys who
are coming out of college. So the first and second pick this year in the draft could be very valuable. And very very good for whoever lands them. We've got to take a break. You want to get the break, I gotta take a break. Let's go Let's let's go there next. Let's take a break, and we'll go there next. Right here on the players players brought to you by

I've done Tupelo Honey before. That's why I first met Chris Rochard. I got to meet him over a little
lunch with another friend of Tupelo Honey. So good little spot. But never there's never with Danny's around. But you always got to be aware, man, I mean, I mean him and produce. Chris ban will throw slugs from anywhere. Man. I'm telling you, the last supper was the last supper I've done. I was no, man, it was the first supper. Okay, it was the first four the season starting everything. Man first, when when the height was real, Man, it was when the hype was real. Wow. Wow, uh NFL News here
to hit you with. Um. The forty nine ers have traded linebacker Kawan Alexanders to the Saints in exchange for Keiko Alonzo and a conditional fifth round pick. So the Saints are truly trying to go for it because their cap next season, they're gonna have to shut almost one hundred million dollars off this team next year. So they're trying to push in all the chits right now to
win this thing. And and I'm imagining this is the last ride for Drew Brees too, So I guess that's why John Payton is trying to go go ahead and put it all in there. That brings me to this question for y'all, For both of y'all, you know, seeing as a trade dead last coming up tomorrow, I believe at like four or whatever it is, is there anyone out there that you would want to see the Cowboys trade for that you could see the Cowboys trade for? No,
not at all? Okay, what about you. Mccraig, absolutely not. Why why the question? Don't waste nothing on nobody that's out there. All right, we are what we are. We've been seeing it in all season, and I know that. The Stevens said, you know, we're still we're still in it. But even if you do, when the NFC you're getting, you're getting thrashed in the first round of the playoffs in his own all right, So I mean, I wouldn't even waste to waste any picks any while, waste your
time with the season. Just pack it in. No, no, no, you like, like Louis said, find out what you have on the roster. You're gonna get your young guys out there, see what they got, See who you're gonna be able to keep on the team next year, and see what they can do, and then and then move on to the next season. And if you make the playoffs, then you make the playoffs. But you know, I mean why, I'm not sure you know, once you get a guys
New Year's Eve off. Stephen Jones did say on one or five three of the Fan today he believes that the Cowboys are in it, and he's not anticipating trading away any any assets, uh to try and uh to you know, to go ahead and start a fire, shim. So let's get back into this before the break, mccraig, you tried to make reference to the Cowboys possibly getting the number one or number two pick in the NFL, with Trevor Lawrence, the quarterback from Clempson being the guy
everyone's talking about it. Justin fields um got most likely number two or definitely rising up in that top that top top three status, top four status in my opinion here, so I take the floor, man, you go ahead and go with that. Hold on, hold on, see see knew we tried to send me and put words in my mouth. I didn't say anything about the Cowboys trying to get
one of those picks. They won't try to get it, all right, They're gonna try to win games, just like they tried to win the game last night, and it just may not happen. So they may they may accidentally end up with one of those picks. You know, maybe Jets. You think they're gonna get one of those picks? Do you think get one of those picks? So who is it right now? Is the Jets? Is the Jets? The Jets are o na, No, No, you got a lot of ground to cover here, many people in front the Jets.
Jets are o NA. Houston has one in six, Jacksonville is one in six. The Giants are one in six. So you got folks with already. And then and then Atlanta's two and six and you beat Atlanta, so Atlanta's got you. Um the Chargers could have been three and three and three and four, but they ended up losing, so they're not two and five. So uh look there's there's um the shoot, the Patriots are two and five, So you've got people in front of you. Is what I'm saying. It's it's it's going to be a challenge
to get to number two. Look at look at the schedule. Look at the schedule. Pick a game that you that you say we gonna win and think we will be stuck at two games for the rest of the season. As I said, as I said last week, guys, the only time the Cowboys will be favored again is the
end of the year against the Giants. And by the time that final game comes up there at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, we'll have to see if either team is going to put out anyone who can help them get a w that day, because every would be pretty clear on terms of what what a win could cost someone drafts and draft pick wise. So this may be the Nuci Show and everybody else. You know, they may be bring back down Terry Pop for one game only, you know, you know, bring back Waring, bring back a
whole slew of people for one game only. Speaking speaking speaking to Polman, Listen, I hate that the show is so short because we haven't gotten we haven't gotten enough time to give the defense, to shout offs, to even touched on the defense. Yeah, you know, and I don't want people to think that we are not going to give them, you know what, little praise that they can deserve for this season and hopefully moving forward they get
a little bit more. So I'm sure we'll get on it tomorrow, but I just wanted to, you know, make sure that we got in it today and saying they played hard yesterday. They played hard, they made some plays, they got some turnovers, they blissed a little bit, put some pressure on wins. They did some good things that we'll be able to dive in more tomorrow. But I just had to make sure on Monday, definitely that we put it out there. It definitely helped that. You know,
Wins is a walking turnover out there. I mean he, my boy was holding the ball like a loaf of bread in the pocket. I mean, his his quarterback into me is it's not good at all. People had the nerve to say that he was up there with Dak Prescott, but that's beside the point for me. I definitely got to give a little shout out to our defense man. I mean, there's still a couple of cats that are that are missing right now that they're still on that
milk carton number ninety eight. But but besides that, I feel like, you know, d law, I feel like he showed up a little bit. Randy, Oh yeah, he's all yeah, he definitely digressed a little bit. I don't know what happen when you put that blonde hair. Maybe that kind of threw his superpowers off or whatever. But I don't know what happened. But Randy Gregory, he showed up a little bit out there. He showed a little poppy, showed
a little speed off the air. So I gotta give props to my defense we'll get we'll get into them tomorrow. But they definitely played a little bit better than they did in season games previous. The Hot Boys returned on Sunday Night football, So hey knew, he knew, he think about think about what you just said. Set the hot was a bat, the forty nine a shift. They hot boys off New Orleans. What the real hot boys is. So we're gonna see the battle and see what's really
going on. Who the battle of the hot Boys for the rest of the season. That's that's what I'm ready to see. Hey, if this the lion start talking about hot boys is man, they don't need to talk about anything. How they need to get some sacks and some quarterback pressures. Man, I've been here. None of these dudes talking about hot boys.
Don't get this merchandise out. I've been not hear none. Well, they will have to face the team from western Pennsylvania on Sunday, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and their quarterback is a little bit better than the one they faced this past week. So we'll also dive into the Steelers along the way. And one of my biggest fears is there'll be a whole lot of folks with terrible towels at Jerry World on Sunday. We got a lot to get to the
