Now your hosts, Barry Church, Danny McCrae, and Newi Scrugs. Go time. Players Lounge brought to you by Hotels dot Com. It is Wednesday, It is Survivor Day. All right, CBS here locally Channel eleven, CBS eleven. Our guy Danny McCray is on the show tonight. Yes, indeed, check it out.

So um Danny McCray, undrafted free agent with the Dallas Cowboys, now a member of Survivor forty one. What's your name again, louvulu Vue? That's blue Blue, Blue Blue. You don't saying we baby Blue visas videos record shop for every Time Reality Team show critic himself. I'm on it. Y'all know who I'm with on that. Y'all know who I stay right, need to go home, Man Bun, what's the man Bun's ner? Riccard? Gotta go home? And j D. I mean those three

need to go and then after that I'll reevaluate. Okay, Glad, it's gonna take the night off from Bravo to support you. Yea, the Bravo shows come on on Monday, on Monday, Monday Wednesdays. Is all surviving in I am merely knew He Scruggs, long time Cowboys media member here in the s WBC podcast studios here at the start of the team is currently practicing. Right now, Let's just get one out of the way, talking about voted off the island. All right,

let me chill. That was about the day that was on one for the day, Right, I'm done, man, that was a nice slapper. See how you guys at yesterday? You go, you go, hey yesterday, your boy yesterday. You're gonna bring up yesterday? You know, hey, hey, you know if the crowd you guys to do the time. Okay, I've been watching old old stuff about the wire. I've been seeing a lot of Marlow, a lot of Ava, you know what I'm saying. So I'm in I'm in that zone right now. Okay, I'm in that zone, the

zone that Church was in. No what hey man, he was about what jab for the day? Okay, that's it. You know, I just had to throw a little, you know, teaser out there's Now we're good. You're saying, uh, we'll get to Jay look Smith here, that's not That's not what you were talking about. My man, I jumped the gun a little bit. I'm talking about what we'll be. Okay,

was what was? We'll get to? What was? I'm talking about what will be a lot of people are on Twitter saying, Okay, Stefan Gilmore about to get released by the New England Patriots. Cowboys need to go make a trade. Absolutely not. It's not going to have because the Carolina Panthers made the trade a twenty twenty three six round draft pick to secure the services of Stefan Gills. Await, that's it. All they needed was a six round pick to get this guy up out of there and pick

up the sailory. Okay, now go back to my guy, Rodney Harrison, who told me earliest one, he's like, hey, Gilmore would be good for your locker room, be a good player. But the issue in Rodney had told me, he's like, hey, Bill's not gonna pay him because Gilmore wants a new deal. Yeah, that's what we talked about. The man reason we couldn't get it because we thought when we signed to him, he wouldn't want this massive, top of the market type deal and that's just something

that Cowboys weren't willing to do. And what's what has changed? Tun? Sorry what I mean? Because well, well I say that because at that point I was saying we needed a veteran UH presence presence in the dB room. And well why when I say what has changed, I was talking about Gilmore. So if you wanted your money in the spring, if you want a new deal in the spring, why you get to the fault not still want a new deal. You know, if you want your money, you want your money.

So the Panthers are in a position to to do it. And it's very interesting because they had made the trade for CJ. Henderson UH for Jacksonville. He ended up playing last week against the Cowboys in that loss, and so they so they made a trade there, and then they made a trade UH for for Gilmore and horns out this year, but he's coming back. So they got they got a loaded corner group. I mean you're talking aj Aj Buoyya, who was an All Pro Pro Bowl with Jacksonville.

Jake was at JC, not J. C. Jackson, but UH Dante Jackson, C j Henderson former first rounder. Like you talked about Horns gonna be on his way back after he heals from this injury. So I mean they got they got a loaded secondary. Some people ain't coming back. If I'm I'm like, hey, what about you want some

of this piece? You want someone? They trade a couple of pieces because Dante gotta be mad, you know, because you assume that Ajuy is gonna be starting right so now you gotta go against He's gonna take the other spot as soon. Uh So it's some upset people in the locker room. And you know you got my man, Prescott's brother over there talking about give him, give him Anthony Brown spot. I'm like, I'm like, why though, why if you we me? I've been talking about how how

much better this defense has been getting each week. Each week, they've been getting better. When you look at Trey mun did you say this guy is covering, he's getting turnovers, he's in the right spot, he's making players on the ball. When you look at Anthony Brown, he got an opportunity to make an interception. Uh in the last game. He hasn't really been playing bad. His game is getting rights.

He's getting better and I think that's that's a testament to the new coaches that have come in and got him back on track to to to get to have him be the player that he they thought he was when they paid him. But what would you would you? I just want to read let's just awake. Sure read the tweet here and um and I tweeted it out at newar scrugs it's an e W Y Scruggs. Todd Prescott five hours ago tweeted The Patriot releasing Stephan Gilmore. He told me four years ago he wanted to be

a cowboy. He and Digs on the field together. Question mark see the and right there. If I'm if I'm dak right there, I'm like, hey, you know, break got hill a little bit. You gotta chill a little bit on that, because bringing in that guy, it's gonna take

somebody's job. Somebody, somebody is gonna be mad about getting a job taking, whether it's Anthony Brown moving into the slot and then Jay Louise up out of there, or just Anthony Brown going all together, you know, or relegated to a to a you know, a sideline role basically a backup role. But somebody's job's getting taken there. So you can't go out there be like, yeah, we gotta

bring this guy in, bringing that guy in. Because if I'm Anthony Brown, I'm looking at the tweets like, hold on, get your brother because, like I mean, because we know Dak might not have said that, but people are gonna assume because it's coming from his brother, Like hold on, man, So yeah, this is what y'all talking about over there, Like you know, I'm not playing up to Parl right now, so I gotta get step up my game. Like it's

it's just a little slippery slope right there. Anybody else, Like if it's us saying, yeah, let's bring gilmore and that's one thing. If it's the media is saying it, that's one thing. But when you have the brother of one of your teammates saying it, I might feel some type of way. If I was Anthony bro watched him a couple of years ago, he would have been upset.

If they would have said, Aaron Rodgers is on the market, Oh we should go get him to be with Dez and whatever or whoever else was on the roster, dude would have had a whole fit. But having fits on Twitter for people talking mess about Black Prescott relaxed. Man said, talking about this people teammates, man, they are playing, well you three and one, leave him alone alone. Yeah, it's because because, like we said, somebody got to go. It's if I'm a b I'm just like man, hold on, man,

I played yet. You know, the Tampa Bay game wasn't the greatest, but from that point on, I'm you know, I got better and better and better. I even got an interception under my belt. Like I think the tandem of him and Yeah on a deep ball. I think the tandem with him and did is starting to improve. So I'm looking on Twitter and I'm like, wait, they saying I'm not good enough to be in this secondary. I know Stephan Gilmore is a game changing type corner.

I know he can he can solidify your secondary. But Anthony Brown ain't playing too bad. And I just don't see I can see us saying that, but not not the brother of Prescott. You can't do that. Listen, dan Quinn believes and Anthony Brown all right, he came to defense and let everybody know that was not his fault on that play. That was the safety's fault. And then somebody failed down. He explained it. Dan Quinn believes in him. He's still on the roster. We know one thing. If

they don't believe in you, you sick. Ain't getting a lot of disrespect for Anthony Brown at a lot not here, not here. We apologize. I listen literallyld on, wait, hold on, hold on. If we're talking about two years ago, yeah, yeah, yeah, I don't know. I'm talking about now. I'm talking about now. I listen. I'm talking about this contract. No no, hold on, his contract don't have nothing to do with his play. All right. I see what you said about and I see there. Go then I come back and apologize you

did because I misspoke exactly like he doesn't listen. No, no, no, no, no, that that is false, right man. The man get paid some seventeen twenty million dollars. We were talking about the top paid corners making almost a honey me. So when you're talking about the comparison between the contracts, that's what I was talking about. He's trying to start some miss No, Anthony round, you're playing good. I would not go get step on Gilmore because I believe that you are continuing

to get better. You wouldn't go get him. If no, I wouldn't messle to our defense right now. Now, this is something else that I have. Media was out here, We're watching practice and just just kind of talking to people, and and uh, Mickey and I were think Spagnola, who has his podcast make shots after us. We were just talking and right in front of us as Calvin Joseph, they's the second round pick on the guy. They still

have hopes for the player. And to me, it seems that McCarthy is very comfortable playing young guys and Dan quinn is very comfortable playing young guys. So you bring in Gilmore. Then Gilmore becomes with Bill Parcels, you say, as a progress stopper. Yeah. So, And Mickey also brought up the point of yeah, you have ten million dollars. He said, but you've got all these other guys you have to continue to pay. And then he went over here he started looking at the you know, injured reserve,

let the practice squad. He's like, that money goes to pay these guys. Then he said, whatever savings that you have, you can roll that into next year. And then you start to think about all the different free agents that the Cowboys have and I don't think we talk about that enough. If Randy Gregory's a free agent, Carter Williams is a free agent, Schultz is a free agent, Keiano Kneel Keane free agent, both the safeties, I mean basically the safety room, the whole safety room is up. So

it got Laton Vanderess, who's up. So you've got all of that going on here, so you bring in Gilmore. Those are certain things you got to talk about. And oh, by the way, to one reason why Jalen Smith was got Yeah, Nicky said they that they tried to restructure the contract. He said no, from yeah, it was it the restructure, So so that's what But why would you instructure If I'm the I'm like I think they said. I heard they try to take the injury. Does the

injury guarantee away? So that's what I heard that the guy injured, they would have had to guarantee his next year, which was like nine point two. And I can understand that, like because because injuries happened. We've seen it. People get injured that practice all the time, people get injured in the games, and it's something you know, terrible would have happened to him. Then they're on the hook next year from that point, but he had missed the game, Like yeah,

and when and when did you decide? Like have y'all been having this conversation since like training camp or did this when you come in and be like, hey, bro, as a matter of fact, this case you get hurt on your twenty snaps, we need to make sure that we are no. I know how that is. I mean, man, I'm not I'm not up upstairs in the gym row. I'm just here. Just like, man, that was rough. I did not expect to see that last night come across

the ticker. I didn't. I didn't that all. And if I'm hitting, if you're jailing with me, do you actively go out there and try to get back on the squad or you know, you know, when you got seven coming in the bank, do you say, all right, let me chop this up, let me get healthy, let me get back together and see if I can do something next year coming around, because you know you got seven coming to you. But is he not healthy? I mean he's yeah. It seems like he ever't even been playing

that much. I to one of his folks, he said, he told me Jale was looking to play for a Super Bowl contender, and then he had talked about how he was number eleven and the Pro Football Focus rankings for linebackers, and I had someone here in the in the building tell me. He said, NWI, that's one of the biggest bunches of out there, Dallas. He says, they don't know what we are grading, they don't know what we're doing. And so he says you, he says, knew,

you gotta stop following that stuff. And so when this person was saying, yeah, man, he's number eleven the PFF rankings, Like man, there was one coach that stuff does not matter. And in a lot of buildings, and I think you were there, there was one coach who tried to bring out the PF grades to basically break down why this person lost their job and why they're a backup. Now, were you there for that? This was Wilcox at Joe Baker. So Joe Baka came, now, this is why, this is

why you know you're not playing. Right here, he fast you as fifty six out of whatever starting safeties and that just the whole room they spoke due, JJ's you, what the hell you mean PF? That's the grades, you're going you're going to buy some PF. Man, it was extreme turmoil in there. So after that, I've never seen it happened after that, But one coach tried to bring up the PFF and that's just I mean, that's that's a no no when it comes to pay. He could

have just brought out the MS mis tackles. He could have brought that you had to go outside the building for that. You could have just saved. Hey, man, we grade this every week, all right, and then this is what we've been seeing each week, miss miss misser, mental errors, the missopportunity for big plays, misalignment. You could just like grate that and say this is why you ain't got to go. That's how he started though. He was like, yeah, you had the mistackles here this and you know, will

cost is Like no, that wasn't even right. He was like, oh, well did you put it that way too? And it was oh, hell broke loose in that room. But that was that was yes. Ever since then, man, PFF has been a no no when it comes to players. Man, is that the sheet for like total defense and stuff? I need to see where we had this week, y'all don't know. We're near the top ten. Number twenty six and total defense were still twenty six. Yeah, sixteen spots out. Man,

that's stay that stay about to be good. We don't go up at all. Na, na I bet ya na, y'all had gim good Morker coming there. Let me quip that's the that's the sheet for last week. Man knew well had tried to play go ahead, breaking with the go head breaking with the dates on there, do say tid number one on offense. We'll defense it. Okay, hold on, you know we'll take the breaking out of hand the offensive page. No, well, we'll take the breaking out. I'm

going through a whole bunch of stuff here. We'll take the break. But I made sure I just wrote down what I do. I know you got a circle, the most importable thing right there. We're right here, total defense, I know you got we got the ramifications Jy Smith. When we get back, Yes, let's dive into um the reasons and are you buying the reasons. I'll give you some of the things that I've been told why Swiper

is no longer here, let's dive into that. Players Cloud brought you by Hotel dot Com right, Hilda, Scotty dot Com, Radney Big News, Gary, Are you okay? Oh? I'm not Gary anymore. I'm Jackie Flash. Then they take it away and didn't gotta pay. So I'm trying to get money. And I was at the morning walking walking. Well actually they released it in September, but you know, I've been doing that school things, so I have time to get to it. So I was up this morning, got forty five minutes on the treadmill

watching it. By watching it, but I'm not gonna work in the only problem is I've read the book the Jonathan I Grow on Ali, and then I read the book Randy Roberts wrote on Ali and um Malcolm X called Blood Brothers. So basically all it is right now it was the book. O cool, Okay, you know, you know what, It's always better than TV. I'm enjoying it. But you know, I'm at this point of time. Okay. I knew that. I knew that, you know, so I just knew all these things. I knew how he got

to the gym. I knew guys bike got stolen, new with the cop so I knew all this, so, I mean I've read close to a thousand pages on that between the two authors, so so, and look, they're they're great authors to go through. And then on Netflix they've got the Blood Brothers documentary. Um, that's also based on the book that Randy robertson any other guy did so. So anyway, it's just I'm waiting. It's early, but I'm just kind of waiting. Did you watch Once Upon? It

was one night in Miami? Yes, you watched it, Yes, fantastic, loved it, absolutely, absolutely loved it. You're the player's Last brought to you by hotels dot Com. Barry Church, the Ultimate Survivor Danny mccraie, make sure you are checking him out tonight tonight on CBS at seven o'clock, Survivor, Episode three. You don't have to go ahead and put the defensive standings over there. You look, ma'am, I'm they saw it. Okay,

it's okay, we total defense. It's okay because Washington ahead of us, and after we play, we're gonna be ahead. And now it's some people up here we find we've fend a catch over okay, okay him, So back into Jaylon Smith released by the Dallas Cowboys yesterday. I was like, WHOA, Well, my first thought, does something happened that we didn't know about. But the more people I'm talking to and the more things I'm hearing, even from coach Mike McCarthy, when they say,

well it was a team decision. They have other guys that they're going to have to get roster spots too. Guys are coming back. Lell Collins is coming back. I saw Sean mckwin out there walking around at some point time. He's going to be back. You got Kelvin Joseph it's coming back. You also look on this listen here. You know DeMarcus Lors has got to come back here at

some point. Nevill Gallibory. So they're they're needing some spots here to get guys guys on and so the spot that that was created by Jalen leaving, Kean O'Neil's gonna go ahead and feel that when they put him off the COVID listen this week. So, I mean, it's getting to that point time where you really are looking at hey, we've got a young roster. We've got a lot of these young guys. We don't want to let some of

these guys go. He's a fourth linebacker. They were concerned about having to pay nine million dollars next year to injury, they made the move. Can I ask you a question real quick? Do y'all think it's more about his play on the field or the youth and talent we had behind needing reps to get out there? Like? What do you think was the main factor and that this guy's being released? Yeah, I want the finances, the financial situation, But I think that they feel comfortable with some of

the young guys they have coming up. Jabril Cox uh, you know, as one of those guys. I think they want to see what he has. Um. I think we've seen what Jalen has and it's been okay. But I think they picked between him and Lady Vanderesh and they figured, you know, lady Vanders was a little bit more productive than him. So they're gonna let some guys, some young

guys come up and take some of that time. Also, I was told that Jeron Curse, Yeah, has been been able to you know, play in some you know, some nickel situations a little bit get down there because of that big frame and you know, being past a situation. So so he's they want to make sure he's got a spot out there. So I had said before, I didn't think there was any issue with keeping jail because it was sunken costs. You weren't going to get the

money back. But I keep hearing more and more about they did not want to take a chance that that injury he got injured or ah ka pass physical. Now you have nine million dollars. He had risk surgery in the off season, so that guaranteed the money is too see risk risk rich. They didn't want to do it and go back and where we keep talking about they

got a lot of guys up progress stopper. Yeah, you when you got that guy like Michael Parsons who comes in the door from from from day one, just just making noise and being productive out there, I mean, you knew the writing was on the wall. I mean you knew. They didn't they didn't you know they they drafted all these guys in the off season, but you couldn't release him back then because one because of the risk surgery that way he was having, and you didn't know how

Michael Parsons was going to develop. You didn't know how a Keano Neil coming from the transition from safety the linebacker, how he was going to develop. And he was hurt as well, coming off an achilles, So you didn't know how these guys were gonna respond out there. And then once they got the camp and once offseason, and once they got the camp and these preseason games started rolling around, and they said, man, look we got something at this

lineback and court. Now we got Parsons at you know, Nicol, we can bring Keyano kneeling there and Nickel as well. And they saw how they were flying around the ball. We've seen how they played at Arizona, stripping up ball out there, stopping to run as well as anybody we've had in a long time. So that thing, I think had a lot to do with it, as well as these young guys coming in pushing him out the door. Because when you talk about constant financials, I mean he

was already in there. It was the money was already guaranteed, so it wasn't like they was gonna lose the bread. But these young guys just kind of pushed him out the door. But if it's me and I'm owing him, but on special teams, that quality control something people on something out there. See. I think I think that's one

of the issues too. I think that there may have I don't know anything, but if I'm a guy who has been a starter, who changed my number, the number now I'm the guy right, and then all of a sudden, I'm slipping from four to maybe five to maybe not dressing.

You know, like you have to know that in that locker room, in that linebacker room, there's probably gonna be like a divide, right, There's gonna be some people who like, man, they put they messing over Jal and it's gonna be some people are like, man, I'm getting my shot now, you know what I'm saying. So so I'm ready to roll. So I think they were trying to avoid that. Very unfortunate, but I do. I will say this, I think they gave him a fair shot. He got out there, he

got it. They let him play, They let him go out there. I really believe that it was between him and fifty five, like they want to see if he was gonna be able to at least play up to that. And I think Lady vander As I'll played him and then the money really just Draft Night by the Denver

Broncos really did him in. Yeah, because the Broncos I thought would take Justin Fields at the quarterback, but they took Patrick's ten because cowboys one of them you already had Carolina took Jacore early and so here it is, this was this was that stop. Okay, they're nine Cowboys are next, Yes, Patrick's Dan. I'm like a man, where are we gonna go? Yes? And then the Cowboys from ten trade down to twelve and then they take Michael Parsons and there you go. So I into it just happens.

But I can I say this and I think we all can agree here. Let it fans understand, Jalen Smith was a quality person without a doubt, absolutely doubt. This was a Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee last year for the club. And you guys have been in the locker room and you know that that that's a serious honor when people from a from a team say, hey, look this this guy represents everything we want. Went back to order day and got his degree. He's very involved

in businesses and helping people try to become an entrepreneurs. So, um, he's a good guy. And I hope that doesn't get lost people don't don't I'm sorry, and don't forget the path. Right. So not only a good guy, but a hard working guy, a guy who was resilient and went through a lot just to get back to playing on the field. And you have gone through an injury to where you're not

even sure if you're gonna be the same. So he did that as well, and he had what nerve damage after that, you know, after that's tostitos, Fiesta Bowl or whatever. So for him to battle back take basically get a red shirt year his rookie year come back twenty seventeen played well. Twenty eighteen, he was considered, you know, him and Banders was considered the top tandem in the NFL. So, I mean, he's definitely battled back from a lot. But I gotta say this, man, I would be sick. Man,

y'all put me in, y'all made me the captain. It wasn't he the captain for the a lot of game and a couple of days later. Man, Hey, That's why I was a little bit more confusing. Yeah, I was like this mixed signals going on, man, because you had to believe that this was in the plan. Like at some point it's like, listen, if this doesn't work out, we're gonna have to find a way to move on. And he's captain last week, it's like five days ago. Man, do you think three days ago, do you think they

were already in his ear, like you know what? Or throughout the whole offseason and during the season, like look, you gotta play well. You know, if you don't play well, we're gonna we have a chance to release you. We're gonna release you. Or you think this was just like out of nowhere, like hey man, you just your play ain't been up to charge. When they talk about it, go when they talk about the structure of the contract, that that's and usually those conversations, I don't know, you

guys would know better than that. I don't know when they initiated the conversation, but hey, we want to change some things here with the contract. Usually they do that and then you decided to say, nah, you balk at it. Then then there you go. Me, this seems very bella checking other boys old. I told y'all my story now, all right, Yeah, I was. I was smooth through and my agent called me the day of finding releases and said, hey, man, I think they want you to take a pay cut.

And they called me in the office. I said, how much time do I have to think about it? He said, I'll walk out the room, walked up out of here. You released. So I mean it could go either way. They could have been talked about in an all season or it could have happened yesterday when we all found out same thing with get on, hey man, let's work on that contract. He said, no, okay, I mean this is just very Bill Belichick in and I also want to make sure you're I put this point out there.

The Cowboys took Zeke fourth overall in twenty sixteen, and I said this because they have a bunch of those Notre Dame games on NBC where I worked. Jalen Smith at Nordre Dame was to me everything you see in Michael Parsons at that time. He was a Sideline's tideline guy. The guy made some fantastically. He was a fantastic player.

And to see him get hurt against Ohio State in that Fiesta Bowl, it was devastating because I'm telling you right now, had Jalen Smith been healthy first round, No, No, he there's a guy that I could have seen the Cowboys taking it forth. That's how good he was then. And so we look at what marcu Mica is right now. I'm just telling you in college before he got hurt, he was playing at a crazy level good like that.

We're like, man, there's no doubt that guy right there at that position boom did your blue chip player difference maker, which is why they took the chance on him in the second round. By the way, that's the thing that people don't realize, man, the guy was just really really freely outstanding player, first round, typed talent they got in second round that took a chance on, almost like Randy Gregory.

People forget, man, this guy was s thought to be a top ten pick before he slid down with his issues. So with Bruce Carter a couple of years before down right, So so my man Collins, Yeah yeah, slid on about the draft, yeah yeah, So some circumstances were there, but for him to work like he did and making himself a player that ended up getting becoming a Pro Bowl alternate. Man, my hats off to Jaalen and what he's trying to do off the field. The Cowboys decided they want to

go in a different directions. So I can't. I can't sit up here and just say, man um, I get it. The reasons I'm hearing, I get it. Sometimes you're like, I don't want to buy that. I can hear this because you just look at guys who are coming back. They're gonna have to change the roster, and you know who are going to be some people that don't make it. You know, I'm hearing Bradley and I Bradley and I

may not make it, you know. Downs as guys are strying to come back, they're gonna be needing some spots here, and Jalen was a spot. They looked at the money and the next year they didn't want to guarantee the nine considering how many guys who are up there. So good luck to Jaylen Smith. Yeah, ends on a contender as he goes forward. I'm not gonna dump on the guy like so many people are out there. I'm just I'm just not gonna do it. This is not an

easy day, you know whatever. We were laughing joke on the players lounge about you know, well, you know, little stuff, but this is like the reality of the NFL, all right, So we have being former players and having to go through stuff like that. It ain't easy, all right. It just seems like it's, oh, yeah, he gonna find something to do. He rich, he got whatever. It ain't slap in the face. So dude, what do you guys do when that happened? You called teammate going over me? What

do you do when something like that? When I got released from Jacksonville, see, I was a lot older and like I was further on him. I was in my ninth year, so I was a lot older and way out of my prime. So I knew like after that season, regardless, I was gonna call it a day, Like my body was hurt and everything like that. So it was kind of different for me because when I got released, it

was just like it was the same situation. They still owed me money Jacksonville did, so you know, I was just like, all right, well, this is it, this is done. What am I gonna do as my next you know point, my next chapter in life? So but with Jalen situation, you could say he's still young. He's still kind of I wouldn't say he's in the prime of his football career, but he's still young. He still wants to go out there. Like you said, he still wants to sign with a contender,

so they're different situations. But like I said, this is a slap in the face for your pride, because you definitely wanted to be a part of what's going on with Dallas, especially the way they're playing right now. You definitely wanted to be a part of that Super Bowl run that they're trying to go on right now. But to me, mostly it's a slap in the face just because hey, you wanted to play and got your spot taking.

So it's a little prideful hurt. You're proud a little bit. Yeah, I'm surrounding myself with the family, you know, calling, calling whoever it is who I can kind of kind of spill spill my mind too at that time, just to get some stuff off my chest. Um grabbed me a couple of bruskies, you know what I'm saying. Sit back and relax, man, sit back and reprocess man. And then so he can so he can get back to what he needs to do to get back in the league. And uh, he's been able to do that before, so

I'm sure he'll be able to do it again. All Right, let's hit a break here. And there are times when when when folks or have questioned Mike McCarthy, I mean there's this comes with the job as to head coach, people to question things. So are you gonna buy that one that didn't look good? Now? I'm gonna let that one got a chain, a little tale, give me some little different, some little different. I'm a coach, something little different. I'm coach. And that um, your coach, So let me, let me, let me go ahead and uh give Mike McCarthy's to pray. Okay, Okay, I'm waiting, Okay.

I keep hearing more and more of this urban Meyer stuff in Jacksonville, and just how this man could just continuously continues, just embarrassed himself, embarrassing family, embarrassed his team. And I said to myself, you know what, gotta get

Mike McCarthy some credit here. The guy hasn't done anything in terms you know, you can question him on the field like a game to SERTs things like that, but just in terms of being a representative of the team and being a guy who has some respected locker room dudes. Got it. You look at this list of Urban Meyer for the time this man has gotten here. Jacksonville hired Chris Doyle as a team's director of sports performances. Doyle was accused of making racist comments and be littling players

during his time in Iowa. After a heavy backlash, Doyle resigned from the Jaguars and by the way, Urban Meyer defendant and said, you are I vetted him signed him. T Bas a tight end, drafted a running back in the first round. Despite already having James Robinson on the roster, openly admitted that he was hoping to draft Kadarius Tony with the pick they used on Travis atn told reporters that they cut players due to their vaccine status. The

NFL Players Association opened up investigation to those comments. Had an open competition for the starting quarterback job between Trevor Lawrence, the number one overall pick, and Gardner Minshew. Minshew was traded a few weeks later, but split valuable first team reps with Lawrence traded away last year's number nine overall pick. Team starts OH and four didn't travel with the team at to their Week four lost of Cincinnati. Viral videos and photos emerge with him and another woman who was

not his wife. Owner releases the statement that urban Meyer must regain trust and respect, and then urban Meyer today says that it's the team they're gonna decide. How you know, discoes, But what do you mean it's the team, You're the coach looking at this guy. They're just saying, you know, if you're a cowboy fan, your coach isn't doing this what you you know, the questions you have about your coach it's not about him. It's not about his character, it's not about his ability to do the job. Yeah,

it's this this man is he's overmatched newly. I love you, all right, listen, really, I love you. You know what I'm saying. We are friends, okay, but but I am not about to let you get Mike McCarthy no probs for doing the right thing. All right, come on, man, we're not gonna because irbant may are here messing up. We gotta give Mike McCarthy's the proples with being a good guy. He's supposed to be a good guy. We hope he taking the plane ride back. We hope he

not out of the bar, you know, of course. Yeah, oh yeah, thankful, thankful for you that. I will say this, Mike McCarthy with their three and one, so he does deserve some credit for the team being three and one. He's the head guy. Because they were one and three, he will be getting all the blame. So yeah, shout out to him for having his team right, especially coming off the season that they had last year and all the questions that we had about some of the decisions

that he's been making. Some of it is still time management that we're still a little confused about. But you're three and one team. No apologies, but for being a good guy. Hey man, let's say you know we should live. We should give Pete Carroll some props we should get. We want to go through the list everybody except Urban when you everybody getting props? All right, good guys, once a time you were when you were in diapers. You

may not even born. But the cowboys had a little image problem and they were trying to clean it up. And the head coach takes a gun to the airport. I fear you very soon they checks. They got the airport check very soon. Got brought a gun to the airport. Juela centwn ain't and Jerry was like, man, we try to clean up o images. You got a gun at the airport. Listen, we had no image problem since I

got here. Waye Phillips wasn't the image problem. Jason Grill wasn't an image problem, and Mike McCarthy is not an immage problem. I look up here that I just see this man, you know, your boy shot and yeah, yeah, wake up Brown, I'm thinking about something. You got seb minutes, seb minutes, Okay, give me some minutes. Played golf this morning nine I went for runners. I've been up since

three thirty. Man, I was three thirty. So um, I'm sorry, man, but you man shot Com paid all this cash from for urban and this guy can't do the simple things and a little I'm surprised he wrote a book. The name of the book was called above the law. I mean above the line, above the line, like you did. You're supposed to operate above the stop this and you just hear there's no respect in that locker room from him? And and uh, man, I'm telling you, I just, I

just I did not expect this. How do you reprimand one of your plagues? You shouldn't be doing this. You shouldn't be doing that. Coach, man, hold on, we just we live laws. Are you in the streets? Like would you? What did you take? Hey? Coaches? A matter of fact, were playing in Vegas. I ain't flying back with the tea thing. I'm gonna stay a little big game. Well, I'll see y'all on Monday. But what at what point is that? What a shot gun doing? Though? What did

he throw? Did he throw the lawd I keep saying they said he threw Lawrence under the bust or he kind of put him in this in this thing. What was that all about? So Lawrence is having a birth bachelor party and in Vegas, and so he was kind of like, I guess trying to put up the warning flags and like how you should act anyway? You know, just once again you you're trying to operate on this

level and you're not. And then you after he came out with that video, the media session with the apology came the second video and the second video show you know my man was was touchy feeley. I ain't seen that one. I ain't seen now. I ain't seen now one man, somebody somebody sitting that just go to Twitter. It's that Urban was happy about these these releases, these releases coming up because it got the pressure off. And you know, I mean the news wasn't all on him.

It was on you know, Jalen getting released here stephone Gilmore, get released him. What is the man shot gun doing? Okay? Because I hear you talk all this stuff about Tom Coughlin when he was there Wild Wild and finding finding guys, giving it to his charity, dictating the guy that he brought it. Now you breaking in Urban Meyer, and you you let Urban Meyers start. He's a he's a rookie head coach in the NFL. He's vetting guys, and you're not.

You're not looking at it too and saying, you know, let me talk to this guy too, let me do a little research. It's just whatever Urban says is okay, I'm making this dude fly back with the team. Yeah. That that was. That was that was. You got a responsibility to, like, look, watch over your the head coach, no matter what. Yeah, you're supposed to be with them. Bro, it's worried about his other team. You got his soccer team. See, actually pretty good. I am a god. So I'm sorry.

I tried to Mike McCarthy some props for you know, I kind of appreciate. I appreciate the professional Listen me too. I appreciate the professionals. We're all good guys. Do the right thing, do the right thing. You liked good for I'm getting props being a good guy movie Church. You get pros being a good guy. Appreciate that. You know what I'm saying. We need more people like y'all. I appreciate. Somebody told me the other day I was a horrible human being self. Man, I have to take my statement

back story, man, going on, what did you do? Can't just drop that and be like, yeah, I might have to recant that's man. What's going on over in the New Year? Hey man? You know everybody, everybody don't love you all the time. Everybody loved Jesus Christ Christ, so you know, I can't expect to be loved either. You know, the greatest man walked the Earth. Take he gets shot up by people. People take a shots out. So it's

all good. It's all good. Um, we didn't even touch on the giants here, but we had so much stuff kind of going on. I'm looking at Jason Garrett and what he's done with Daniel Jones. Do you think Daniel Jones is becoming a better quarterback? Yes? No, Uh yeah, I think he's been. He's gotten better since Jason Garrett

got there. Unfortunately, you know, they've had some injuries that have stopped them for being the team that I'm sure Jason Garrett wants them to be that running team and him being able to just work off play action based on what sat Quan's they were doing the running game. So he's been having to do more than Jason Garrett wants him to do. But I think he's he's getting better. I will say he's getting a little bit. He's not

as turnover prone as he's been in the past. We know he was a walking you know, turnover going right there. He's either throw you the ball, he's gonna drop the ball somebody comes near him. So I think he's taking care of the ball a little bit better. He's always had the arm, the arm to play in this league. He's getting a little bit more accurate there. And he seems to be taking more risk with his legs. He seemed to realize that his legs are you know, not

a downfall, but can be an asset towards him. So I feel like he's getting a little bit better. Not to be confused with good or anything like that. I just think he's, you know, getting a little bit better. But if he doesn't play well by the end of this season, I can see them, you know, moving on from from Danny Dames. Yeah, they got to get that running game going. That's the only thing. I think, that's

the only thing they can say. And and you say that, and I come back to this real simple thing that their offensive line is not good and that's on the general manager Dave Getleman and the owner John Mayra. They have not put together a good offensive line, and that was what Gettleman said he was going to do when he got there for the football team. Their number one pick that they took last year out of Georgia Andrew Thomas. That was a five six good tackles in that draft.

He was the first one gone and he wasn't I thought he was. To me, he looked like a Tyrant Smith type player, big lean kind of tackle, the kind of guy that Jason likes here and had. I could see Jason and Joe Judge looking at Thomas saying, book, this could be another young Tyrant Smith. It just hadn't worked out. And I guess I'm making an excuse for him. But going through COVID last year, there are some players who just you know, didn't have good years. They affected him.

Some guys need to be on the field with coaches. And he's been better this year, but I just still think all the way across it starts with the offensive line. The kid they took out of utep Hernandez, the guard, he hasn't been what I thought he would be. They gave all that money to Soldier, which was dumb because will Bill Belichick thinks you gone and cooked. You know right,

what are you doing? So did? They just have not been able to build the offensive line, And that was something that under Jerry recent Tom Coughlin they did a good job of. They were good on both lines offense

and defense. And so when I look at the kind of criticism Jason is getting, I just keep kind of saying to myself, at some point time, you guys gonna talk about this line, and even for Danny, for Danny Dimes, a good offensive line solves a whole lot of problems, a whole lot of problems, and too many teams, in my opinion, just don't do it. Go get Joe Burrow left tackle. Church still ain't gonna better than Herbert, but if you watch, don't get him left tackles. Got this

week is kids. They already Cincinnati and they're gonna take it. Whoever they got is a big game. First place since anti Bengals. She said it right now, first play. The Bengals played the pacts, they got the factors this week go to Bengal. Yeah, they got Okay, all right, we are at time, team past the hour. Tonight tune new televisions at seven o'clock.
