Episode description

Today’s episode is a live recording of my artist talk at the 92nd st. Y in Manhattan. I am an instructor at 92Y, teaching 6 classes. The talk is titled Self-realization through Artistic Expression. What good is art? Why do we keep doing it? Art Center faculty and painter Josh Green to discuss the purpose behind his painting practice and the benefits art can offer us all. He shares his perspective on the ultimate good in art: self-realization through self-expression. The arts allow us to gain self-knowledge by offering moments of expression and reflection. Many of us never create time for reflection and lose all our energy to worries and responsibilities. Art allows us time to discover our true nature in this brief existence, something many never take the time to do.
