This is where they fight. This is where they go to die. And this is where once and for all we determine a true champion, a true warrior and the winner of the Decades of Horror. Over the past five episodes we have been narrowing down the best decade of horror films. From the 1920s all the way up to the 2010s and everything in between, these Decades have fought tooth and nail to determine which is the best. It is this episode that we decide which is the best decade of all.

From the 60s, the 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s and 2000s and 10s, the remaining decades, these six decades will have a chance to prove themselves and ultimately become the best decade of all. But only one will survive. Who will be the warrior? Who will be the defining horror decade? Who will be crowned champion and who will walk out as decade of horror? This is the grand final of the decade of horror. We have such fights to show you. We have such fights to show you. We have such fights to show you.

Welcome to the dummies of horror. We are the show that comes to you weekly. The teacher is a thing or two to the dumbest little guy about the genre we love. This is the grand final of the decades of horror. I'm one of three hosts we have here. My name is Jill, the bell from hell and with me is Tim. What's up? How are you? I feel like shit. Very good. Let's keep going. And with us, we have mushroom. Have you looked like shit? Thanks man. I can't see you. I'm just assuming. Thanks.

I appreciate it. Well done, Jolise. You did really well. Thank you. And in one take. One take. I'm doing on the little clap so you don't get confused. Welcome to the dummies of horror. If you are wondering why Jolise took the intro, it's because I've come down with the flu and my voice breaks sometimes and I sound like a pubescent teenager. So I just didn't want to do the intro because I sound like. Don't say that too. Yeah, I literally sound like Peter Brady sometimes and it's embarrassing.

So I just decided to avoid the intro and just get Jolise to do it. So if it happens or if you hear me sniff or cough, I apologise but I am down with the flu but I'm still here. We are still here because we got a goddamn show to talk about. Ain't that right, Luffy? Yeah, yeah, yeah. We have the grand finale of the decades of horror.

We are going to decide as a threesome which is the best decade of horror tonight or today or this morning whenever you're listening and it's going to be a far out show. So how is everyone besides me, I feel like shit but how is how is you mushroom, how are you? I'm good, I'm great. That's it, just amazing. It's straight to the point. Nothing interesting happening. What's interesting? I don't know. What have you done the last two weeks? Video games, horror movies. Okay, cool.

Me and Jolise went to another concert. Usually that was fine. Pinky in the brain shit. Ah, good. Good, well hey, I'm glad you're here, I'm glad you're good and healthy. I'm good. So what did you catch at the concert? We went and saw the dead south. Nice. So you were just like up the road from here again. Yeah, but I still didn't want to drop in. Dude, I thought about it. Yeah. And because it was on a Tuesday night and when the concert ended it was like 11 o'clock. Yeah, 11 o'clock.

I had to be up to work at like 5am the next day. So rude. So I apologise for not coming to say a word because it would have been like, I, bye, got to go. That's just my weekend. Yeah. That's fine. I've got a two hour drive home before I go to bed. So shut up. You could have stayed here. I've got. Oh, you could. Then I would have had to wake up at like 3am to get to work. Yeah. Yeah, it makes sense. It's just a good plan. Okay, to you maybe. Anyway, here we are. Dummies of horror.

It's the finale of the decades of horror. And we have the remaining decades to talk about. Now, if you remember from last time we needed one more decade to come back. So we put it out there with you guys, the listeners, as to which decade you think deserves a second chance. And I put the poll up and I'm just trying to find the poll and mushroom say something funny while still. Oh, okay. Doesn't matter. Here we are. Politics. So we add the 1920s, the 30s, the 40s, the 50s and the 60s.

All for a chance to come back. And the votes are with the least amount of votes with zero. We have the 1920s, which is fair. Coming in second last with a vote of two with the 1940s. Then we had with a total of four votes, the 1930s, which I was hoping would win, but they didn't. Next up is with a total of five votes, the 1950s and the winner with a total of nine votes, the 1960s. So that means we have the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s and 2010s all still in the running.

And this is going to be tough, man. This is going to be really hard because I don't really know what's going to win. Do you? I have an idea. Yeah. Did you want any guests now? No. You want to save it. No, save it, save it. We'll get to it. But yeah, it's tough because there's like three, maybe four decades that I could see winning this. So it's going to be really hard to figure out which one we advance and which one we say goodbye to. But yeah, we'll get to that when we get to it.

It's going to be a big show. I'm not going to lie. So let's get started into it. Let's get stuck into it with the segment that we always do. What horrors have you done? So, Mr. Mushroom. Sure. What do you want to talk about? I want to talk about a man. A...a frog, man. Ha! Nice, okay. From 2023, the Crocs are no hoax.

An amateur filmmaker struggling to turn his passion into a career returns home to love land with friends determined to obtain irrefutable proof that the cryptid legend of frog man exists. Yeah. He doesn't sound very scary. So, I actually like this one. You saw this too, yeah? Did I talk about this on the last show? I don't remember. I don't think I did. So, this is one of my picks as well. So you go first and I'll come in with my thoughts. Sure. I... Look, it's not the best movie ever.

I'll give it that. Yeah. I guess some real slow bits, but the parts that are... When... It's... I'm going to keep it vague because I don't want to ruin this story, but... The parts where stuff does happen is really entertaining. Yeah. I just wish we had more of those parts. I get you. I get you. Basically, to sell this movie a bit more, this is a found footage movie about this guy who as a young child saw a huge man-like frog. Big man frog.

Yeah. And now he's a grown adult and he decides it's his fucking destiny to prove the existence of this frog man. That's the basis of your movie, basically. And it sounds silly, but I think they got some things right. It has some cool shit going on, but yeah, I'm just trying not to spoil too much of it because it's like... It's kind of fun going for the ride. Yeah, yeah. I will say this because it's not really a spoiler, but you do see a frog man in it.

And it's not their first minute, so like... Yeah, exactly. But I thought the frog man looked great. Me too. I just wanted more frog man. Yeah, I get you. Although I want frog man too. I was invested with these characters for some weird reason. I don't know. They were taught like it was... I get what you're saying. It was slow, but for some reason I was just drawn to these characters. Yeah. But it was a good time. I recommend checking it out.

I don't think it's probably going to be anyone's like movie of the year or anything, but I just... The idea alone, I feel like we can talk about frog man in years to come and be like, I don't think it's a forgettable film. Yeah. So nice man, nice. What did you give the hammer ten? I gave it a Zim minus. So I was like leaving between like six and a half and seven, but I'll go a seven, but a Zim minus. That's it. And so no one knows what a Zim minus is except zero. Oh. Well, it's a set...

It's just be him really. Yeah, pretty much. Seven out of ten to people that have no understanding. Yeah. Because I had... Was it me who just had like a year of giving everything a seven? Yeah. I think it was both of us to be honest. And yeah. Our friends Zim was like just... He hates the number seven. He found it infuriating because he feels like it's the most middle of the fence score. So we started giving things like... Oh, I started giving things like a Zim minus or a Zim plus.

Good old Zimmy. Hi Zim. Um, alright. Do you want to go? Would you give it? Oh, I gave it a six. Nice. Actually, I think I gave it like a six... Yeah, six and a half out of ten. Look, I'm about to save that. Yeah, pretty much. That never happens. Weird, okay. Um... Does it happen? It's just... If I... When we're in the middle of that something... Yeah. It's something like an eight. We can agree. But if I fucking love something or you fucking love something, I'll hate it. And vice versa.

That's, yeah, it's weird, eh. That's how it usually works. Alright, well... Who wants to go next? Because what you've seen, I've probably also seen. So we can all just do a collective review on of it. So what do you got next? A lot of... I've only got a couple of movies that I think you haven't seen. Next on my little listy here is Imaginary. Okay. So we saw that too. So we can all give out two cents into it. Sure. So you go first. This is Blond House.

This is... Yeah. Sure. Uh, when Jessica moves back into her childhood home with her family, her youngest stepdaughter Alice develops an area attachment to a stuffed bear named Chauncey she finds in the basement. Alice starts playing games with Chauncey that begin playful and become increasingly sinister as Alice's behavior becomes more and more concerning Jessica intervenes. Only to realize Chauncey is much more than a stuffed toy bear she believed him to be. Yeah. Stooky.

It's an imaginary friend story. Yeah. Just sum it up. About a bear named Chauncey. What kind of fucking name is Chauncey? I know. Sounds like a mustard. Yeah. It does. But it's a kid naming a bear. Fair enough. Yeah. Anyway. It's so curious because this movie is getting like destroyed by reviewers. Everyone fucking... People have said that this movie is worse than Night Swim. They came out in January. Bullshit. Really? Yeah. That's a bit unfair. I disagree with that. Yeah. I'm 100% same.

I also disagree. Um, not... I'm not... This isn't going to my top 10 or anything. But like, I will say, uh, the angry Chauncey was cool. I thought the, um, his home was cool. Yeah. Um, and some of the other imaginary things were cool. Yes. But the story was fine, uh, very, like, very, uh, Blumhouse. Yeah. Like, kind of just, you know, semi-predictable, but, um, nothing special. The acting was fine. Um, but yeah, that's about... To me, it was just sort of okay movie. Not terrible or anything.

Okay. Jolice. I actually enjoyed this one. I enjoy movies where they have to figure out what's going on. And it becomes like a little case file thing trying to figure out what's happened, where they are, and the story and stuff. I enjoy that. Um, that's fair. I mean, there's a lot of that. Yeah. Yeah. I enjoy those movies. And, yeah, I thought this movie was kind of cool. A different take from what you usually get. So, yeah. No, I enjoyed it. For me, um, let me just say this straight up.

We watched this as a family without three kids. So... I was gonna say it felt very family horror, because... Yeah. I was like wanting more, gore, and shit, but it didn't really... It's happened. Yeah, it's definitely not a movie aimed at us, but watching it together with like, um, our three kids. We had a more enjoyable time than I would have just watching it by myself. Insane that. It gave me sort of goosebumps, see vibes, but not as good as goosebumps. Yeah. I can see that.

It had some spooky scenes. Yeah. Um, I don't think this is a bad film. I don't think it's a good film. I think it's a middle of the road film. This... The biggest problem with this movie is it had the Blumhouse template all over it. Um, yeah. It was just, as you said, predictable. It was just a story and like, the road map to how they get to each part is so similar to every other Blumhouse movie. I agree. And that's my biggest problem with Blumhouse as a whole.

They always seem to just do the same story, but with different antagonists and different things like that. If imaginary bear is some scary pool. Exactly. Exactly. Um, the story is very predictable. I noticed it talk a lot from very, very many other horror films. Um, it had some, some it in there, had some, um, insidious in there. I noticed some Blair Witch elements in there as well. And it felt like I actually, I'll give a shout out to Tammy Turner, the Terminator from the Horrorcast.

She said, and she hated this film. She said that. And I quote, this movie is... Movie is as if they got AI to write the screenplay. And yeah, I feel it. Yeah, yeah. And I was thinking that while watching this movie, I'm like, I can see it. I can see it's like AI has watched to fucking Blumhouse movies and all these other movies and just written its own script. And I get it. Yeah. Um, it's not a bad movie, but for me personally, I gave it a five and a half out of ten.

Yeah, I, um, I gave it like around six. Yeah, okay, Joyce, huh? Um, I'll probably go about a six and a half. I, okay, I thought you were going to go in higher. It's not perfect. It's still enjoyable. Like, I won't put it on all the time, but yeah, it was fine. Yeah, look, I enjoyed this more than five nights at Freddy's. I enjoyed it a hell of a lot more than night swim. Um, so that's the pluses. Yeah. Um, yeah, so that's a imaginary from 2024. All right, mushroom.

All right, next one is another one you've seen. Uh, double blind. You are literally just going up my list. Well, yeah, that's what I did. Okay. Yeah. Oh, like in order, that's cool. Yeah. Um, so, uh, if you fall asleep, you die. I mean, I'm not an experienced, I mean, it's boy low. Yeah. I'm trying to drug trial goes arrive the test subjects face a terrifying side effects. Uh, let's leave it at that. Yeah, yeah. I agree. Uh, this was fucking great. Mm hmm. Um, I mean, a love drugs.

That's always fun. Uh, and I fucking like, I love a big like fucking evil corporation movie as well. Yeah. Yeah. You know, and, you know, spoilers. The company's bad. Yeah. Um, but it gets really hectic and I actually really liked a lot of these characters and didn't like characters that was supposed to look like it kind of just all really kind of worked for me and like all the like effects and stuff. Um, uh, let's say tears and things, uh, would cool.

If you get me, I get you, I get what you're saying. It was fucking so cool. Um, but yeah, I thought it was all pretty realistic and pretty believable and like, I don't know about the fucking science and shit, but like just how they were reacting and acting and stuff. Yeah, yeah. Yep. Um, cause it reminds like I used to have, you know, there's like old creepypastas on the internet. Like there's all sort of horror stories. Yeah, yeah. Like this stuff. And stuff. And stuff. And stuff.

Like, yeah, like that. There was like an old one about like a Russian sleep experiment that kind of reminded me like that kind of vibes. Maybe it's taken from that. It knows. It's, it's definitely taken some things from it, not everything. Yeah. But yeah, it's, uh, it was just cool. It was just a cool movie. I was, uh, we watched a lot of, well, I watched a lot of average stuff this week and this one was definitely a standout for me and it. What, what did you give it out of 10?

I gave it a eight. Oh, okay. So I'm going to read you the review I wrote. Sure. For reasons. Uh, a different original captivating gory film that was made well, sorry, well made, well acted and well shot. This was a great, this was a surprise as I haven't heard many people talk about this film, but I believe it's one of the better films to come out in 2024 so far. It is a slow burner and may not have the rewatch ability that I would like, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

I gave it a seven and a half out of 10. It's now, I wrote that on the 1st of April. It is now the 11th of April. Um, I, thinking about it now, I'm struggling to remember much of anything about this film. Oh, really? Yeah. That sucks. Yeah. I feel, yeah. So watching it, I, I clearly had fun. I can remember how it ended and if I really think hard about it, I'll probably remember the film, but right now I'm struggling to remember plot points and different things.

So I think that's going to ruin, let's say, the film for me. It was also a pretty trippy ethereal movie because like they're under like, there's lots of hallucinating and things like that as well happening and what's real, what's not. Yeah. Like, kind of cool shit. Yeah. True. Alright. What do you want for us next? The next one for me is ISS. Fucking hell. Next one? Yeah, it's my next one. Yeah. I get it right. It's for now. Alright. Well, my next one, I don't know if you've seen. Oh, okay.

DVA there. Okay. Um, okay. Uh, the war on earth will be decided in space. ISS is International Space Station. Tentants flare in the near future aboard the International Space Station as a conflict breaks out on earth. Uh, US and Russian astronauts receive orders from the ground. I'll leave it at that because I kind of liked that reveal. I was watching it. Okay. I knew the story going in because it was spoiled to me about what happened. Okay. We should didn't, but anyway.

I did not and I had an enjoyable time learning that. Okay. I'll say. Alright, go ahead me. Um, no, no, that was just, that was a cool spin because I was like, oh, I'm in. They're getting along. Yeah. Super well. I was like, shit's gone, patch, I'm soon. Um, but yeah, I fucking love a space movie. I'm always space biased. Uh, by no means is this the best space movie ever, but it was a fun little, uh, kind of, you know, romping there in the, in the fucking space station.

It was like tents and beds. The characters were good enough, somewhat better than others. Um, but I liked all the, the tension and the back stabbing and all the shit like that. Yeah. So I think it had me engaged the whole time, but I wasn't like, I'm not like, they're like, this is the best movie ever, but like, I was, I was entertained throughout. I think I'm exactly with you. This is, this is another movie. I'm finding this a trend with 2024.

It's that like some of these movies that are coming out are really decent while watching them. But then when you, when you press stop and you walk away, you have no real desire to rewatch it. And this is one of those movies where I'm like, I don't think I ever need to rewatch this movie. Yeah. If I literally didn't watch this yesterday, I'd be in the same boat as like double blind for you.

Yeah. Yeah. Like, it's like, you have to be like, oh, I remember that space and they're like the Russians in the US and they're like, oh, yeah, I think I watched the, you know what I'm in like, yeah. No, I agree. I agree. It's going to be a middle of the pack one for me. I think it is two. I gave it a six and a half out of 10. I'm giving it around seven, a Zim Plus if anything. Okay. But yeah, mostly seven.

Yeah. Yeah. And you can even call this a thriller if you want to get really deep into what genre it is. I don't really give a fuck, but whatever. This has no real supernatural elements to it or anything like that. But it is an interesting story while watching it. So I think it's worth a watch. So that's me too. I have to. Yes. If like a space thriller is kind of your bag. Yeah. Then yeah, it's definitely worth a watch. Yeah. Nice. All right. Can I go next? Yeah, you go for it.

Okay. I don't think I've told you about this one. So you very well may not have. Okay. So this one is on Netflix right now to anyone out there. And then I definitely didn't watch it. Okay. Well, this one is a movie called Shake, Rattle and Roll, Extreme. That sounds cool. That was like, I saw this advertised on Netflix. And it's a Filipino movie, I think, from the Philippines. I believe. Okay. It's Asian anyway. But Philippines, Korean, I think it's Philippines though. Anyway, it doesn't matter.

This is an anthology film. It has a runtime of 147 minutes. Yes. Oh, that's pretty long. It's an hour and 47 minutes. Yeah. But the thing about this is you can watch it in parts. It's not one of those anthologies where it has a wrap around. It's literally three different stories in the movie. Okay. And that's it. So, the story is a series of vignettes include an neglected and gadget addicted six-year-old who befriends malevolent entity from a children's show.

Then we get another story is a group of influences gathered for a collab in a mansion and then something happens. And then the last one, a bunch of thrill seekers who go on a trip to watch a media shower and zombies. Basically. Okay. So, I saw this advertise on Netflix. I saw this Filipino. I saw the runtime and I'm like, eh, nah.

But then I listened to once again Tammy from the horror cast and she gave this a glowing review and then I listened to that woman who claims that she's like the most professional podcast I ever ever had. Ever from Friday Nightmares. She also gave this a glowing review and said it's definitely worth a watch for this year. So, I gave it a watch and I'm going to be the third person that I know of to tell everyone that you should go and watch this movie. Yes, it has a long runtime.

Yes, it is subtitled, get over it. Actually, for the majority of it, it's spoken in English but they swap from English to their language, whatever it is. But I highly enjoyed this movie. Okay. All three stories work for me. I will say this. Now, and this is, maybe I shouldn't because it's going to give people false hope, but the zombie one at the end, gortastic. Okay. I will say that. All three of these work for me. There's a lot of goring it. I found the stories all fun.

The third story, I'm sorry, the second story for you will probably, you'll probably enjoy it because it's goofy fun. I like it. But yeah, I enjoyed this. The first one is probably the weakest, so stick with it. But you can watch this in parts. That's the coolest thing. You don't have to sit there for the entire runtime and watch this. So that sounds good. Yeah, shake, rattle and roll, extreme. It's on Netflix. Go and give it a watch. I gave it an eight out of ten. Nice. All right.

My next one is my first deviation from your list. Oh, okay. It is Night Shift from this year. Wide release this year. Night Shift. Yep. I don't think I've heard this. Okay. Okay. A young woman working her first night shift at a remote motel begins to suspect that she is being followed by a dangerous character from her past. The night progresses and increasingly supernatural events occur. She quickly finds out that nothing is what it appears to be. Where did you watch this? I acquired it.

Okay. It was like popping up in 2024's. It's from 2023. Okay. Okay. But I believe it's like wide release. 2024. Yeah. Okay. That's all right. We're not Rob Hunger here. We understand. So pretty sure it counts, but not that's all. Yeah. This is fucking cool, man. I really, really liked this one. I don't want to spoil the story anymore that like the little blur by red wasn't too spoilly, so that was good. Yep. But like I fucking really liked the ending. Oh, okay. It's kind of goofy in bits.

It's kind of tense. You think it's sort of going one way, but then it like, you know, fucking pivot. It's fucking man. But yeah, I don't want to tell you he's about it, but I think you should watch it. I think it's fun. What, sorry. What's it called? Night shift. Yeah. Night shift 23. Okay. We saw it. Night shift? Yeah. It's 2023 on Letterboxed. That helps. Okay. Joyce is saying that we saw it. I don't remember watching this. I loved this movie. It was good. This one.

Yeah, that's when she's like a security guard, right? She works at her most health. No, I think it's a different night shift. Okay. Thinking of. Oh, you're thinking of fucking, I think it's called last shift. The last shift. Yeah, oopsie, sorry, wrong one. Yeah, no, okay. Let's see this. I'm looking at the coming out. This is one where she works in a motel. She takes over for that dude on the right and like it just shits. It's cool. I gave it an a half. Eight and a half.

Give it a half, I really liked it. Wow. All right, I don't need to track this one down then. Yeah, I'm, you know, it's where you get him. Yeah, I'm following. Yeah, so check that out. Yeah. But yeah, I quite like it. I quite recommend it. I don't want to spoil too much. All right. How many more you got? I want to 10. This is fuck. But I can knock him out quick. All right, do that. We've got one more left. Okay. So second deviation from your list is Project Dorothy from 2024.

Okay. You know about this movie? No, I don't know about this one. Okay, after a botch robbery, two men take refuge in remote and lifeless scientific facility inadvertently awakening a monster within the monsters and AI thing. Okay, and it controls scary AI forklifts. It's so scary. It's so boring. So don't watch. No, I mean, watch it if you want to pat out your list in 2024 watch, but yeah, me and apparently Matt would bet the same. Yeah. Okay. So we're going to play from ages. What is it?

AI forklifts. Project Dorothy. Okay. It's so they're just like they're just going to this building and it's like run by AI and she's trying to get out. I don't know. I wasn't really falling. It was so boring. But yeah, three out of 10. Wow. Okay. Lame. Yeah, just lame. All righty. Next one. Next one, Eels. Backhead. For fuck's sake. That's our last one. Okay. Did you want to do that last? Yeah, let's do it last. We'll do a collaboration. Sure. No way up. Oh, the shark one.

Yeah. Okay. Cool. What do you think? I thought this is lame. Oh, yeah. You fucking hate shark movies. Sorry. I just hate shitty shark movies. Sorry. It wasn't that shitty. Did you want me to read the blurb? I don't know. It's not you've used it before. So playing crashes in the ocean sharks happen. Playing crashes in the open. The ocean sharks happen. Actors are bad. Stories lame. And was bored. Like, it was fine. Look, I gave it a five and a half. All right.

Look, for me that movie came out like when nothing was happening in 2024. And that was the biggest shining bright of the year so far. So I enjoyed it for what it was. Fair enough, dude. But yeah, this week it was it was filler for sure. I just thought everyone was a jerk, especially the one who is a jerk. Yeah, that's fair enough. Jucks are usually good. I was just like, there was just that little kid in it. I'm like, yeah, shut up. Anyway, it wasn't that good.

There were sharks in it, but it wasn't a shark movie to me anyway. Or was it then a playing crab survival movie? Yeah, surviving sharks. Sharks are there, but like, yeah, I get what you're saying. Do you know what I mean? Like they're not like super concerned about them. They're not there's not a lot of talk about the sharks and trying to kill the sharks and et cetera, et cetera. It's really hard to make a shark like a fresh shark movie nowadays because like what more can you do?

One of the showers. Yeah, the shower is like the last good one. I mean, I liked 47 meters down. We both did. But like there's like, there's not much more you can do. Then don't do it. I love shark movies. Anyway. Alright. That one. And then I watched stop motion. Alright, here we go. I really liked this. I thought I had a feeling you would. Okay. I really liked this one. It's it's creepy tool loss. Fucking stop motion. It's gross. She's crazy. I love a crazy bird. I do me.

And yeah, it was just fun. I had fun with it. I thought it was beautiful looking. I loved the materials and stuff she was using. Can I ask you a question? Yeah, it had to really squamish hard to watch parts that I really super enjoyed. I liked all that. But the question is, did you understand it? Yeah. You understood the whole movie. I think I did. Okay. Because it was the first one I watched and like a week and so ago. But okay, because I struggled to understand what the movie was saying.

And I even watched reaction videos and an explanation videos and all that stuff. And I kind of got a grasp on what it was saying. But I don't know if it just wasn't that interesting to me that I was like, surely there's more to it. Or I'm just not getting it still. I thought it was just her trying to make her own stamp and just like trying to step out of her mother's sort of shadow. Yeah. So it's a psychology movie. Yeah. Yeah, I fucking like which is which is why it was why you don't like it.

You don't like psychology movies generally. Yeah, I really don't. I like and everything was like metaphors and stories and like that. And the little girl is her, you know what I mean? Okay. Trying to get out of her because she never really got to be a little girl because she was making these movies all the time with her mom and like and she was just yet just the grief of all the stuff that was happening. She was just losing.

She was putting so much pressure on herself to be her own thing and not just do what her mom does if that makes sense. But it was just struggling and falling apart and completely fell apart. Is what I got from it. All right, big Smotty bands. Just even like if you look at the cover now, like it's like a cracked egg which is just like a brain to fucked. Yeah, that's what I got from these like videos and stuff like that. But I don't know, I just didn't find it that interesting.

So I'm guessing I'm just. And that's just sort of without spoiling too much specifically. But that's sort of what I got. I still stand by my words that it is a movie that you should see before the end of the year. I agree too. I think just visually and just the fucking stop motion in it is really good. Yeah. I really really create. You don't see a lot of horror, horror stop motion. No. And I think this is how you get away with doing a horror stop motion. That's not just a short film.

Yeah, agreed. Because they're expensive and they're arduous and to make a full fucking claymation feature unless you get money thrown at you like you fucking Tim Burton back in the day. Like it's just not happening. And even then they're like, yeah, you can make a stop motion horror movie. But you're going to make it like a G-rated. Pretty much, yeah. You know, yeah. But yeah, I enjoyed it for what it is. I think it's really creative and you don't see much stop motion. So it's like really.

So it was up your eye. I liked it. Yeah. Yeah, totally. It just takes some boxes for me. Last one before we do backhead is out of darkness. Yeah, okay, I'm keen as to hear your thoughts. Because you're going to hate it. I have a feeling that you were not a fan. Yeah, not really. How did I know? See, I really liked it. So you have to hate it. I was just like, how much could you do? You know, well, they, what do you mean? I thought they did enough. I don't know. I was just kind of bored.

I was just like, yeah, you know, I was like at the start. I was like, most of this is going to be a fight for power. And then it's going to fall apart somehow. Yeah. And then maybe if we're lucky, there's a twist. And there was. Yeah. But that's what I said at the start. Okay. So I was just like watching things unfold sort of as I thought they would. While trying to figure out what language they'll use it. It's a, yeah.

So upon further investigation, it is a made up language that they made up for the movie. Okay. I thought it was what I'm. It's nice. It was visually alright. I just, I don't know. Not for me. Yeah, not for me. Not for me. Like stop motion is it for you? Yeah, how the darkness is it for me? I'm still going to six and a half. So there is merit when I saw it's not a bad movie by any means. If fucking caveman psychological thriller, I wouldn't even call it a psychological. Well, not even.

If caveman. Semi Monster story. Yeah. Sounds interesting to you. Go for it. No, my soul. I wanted to see real mammoth. I mean, you can see mammoths. I'm guessing they didn't have the budget for that. But no, you're wrong. You're wrong. You have to like anything you are like. The ending was sad. Yeah. I liked it. The sad ending. Alright, anyway. Last one. Last one. Alright. Baghead. Which is my nickname in high school. I get it. I get it. Yeah, if you get me.

Jason, do you want to explain what this movie is about? Oh, God. In your own words. In my own words. Yeah. Yeah, just like I've been doing every time. If I do it, I'm going to give away spoilers. Alright. So I bet a nod. Well, just if try not to, just sum it up in your own words. I love putting you on the spot. Fucking so funny. Doesn't really look so funny. So start it. Mariam. Just watching the panic in her eyes right now. There is a death and she gets summoned to go to this place.

And I don't know. Ends up being something creepy in the basement. I don't know. Look, you're pretty close. If I had to guess. Had to summarize it. I'd say following the death of her estranged father, Iris learns that she inherited a rundown centuries old pup. She travels to Berlin to identify her father's body and met with the solicitor to discuss the estate. Little does she know when the deed is signed, she'll become inextricably tied to an unspeakable entity that resides in the pub's basement.

Like a head, a shaped shifting creature that can transform into the dead. I have a weird feeling that you didn't pull that from your ass. I just fucking off the top of my dome. Yeah. When you first started talking, I was like, that's really good. And then I points to my phone with the letterbox thing and I'm like, he's reading this. They stole my stuff. So you say that she travels to Berlin. I did not get Berlin out of this room. I did get Berlin in and everyone was, I wasn't like, old German.

Yeah, I didn't get nine and schminkdor and things like that. Yeah. And I was, I was wondering where this movie was set. I thought I knew it was Europe somewhere, but Berlin, I did not get that at all. But anyway, what did you all think? The dude didn't come inside. I didn't hear one do-hast. Oh shit. All right. What did everyone think of that? There wasn't flamen though. Like right at the start. There was water. It was kind of flamen like flames. Yeah. So that was kind of Ramstani. That's true.

That's true. Not enough like leather. That's true. Anyway, what do we think about Baghead? Luffy? Oh, it was decent. It was one of the better movies I watched this week. But I feel like it's going to be very middle of the road by the end of the year. Like it's one of the bigger budget ones. It's definitely got some studio and some money behind it. But at the end of the day, it's like the premise is cool, but not mind blowing. I lacked the ending. That was fun. I always loved that kind of ending.

Yeah, I didn't expect that ending. It's really honest. Yeah, I mean, I was like, but yeah, I think it's, yeah, it's good. I'll remember it, but I think most of it's going to be ultimately forgettable by like the end of the year and stuff, you know. Yeah, I understand that. Joyce, what did you think? I enjoyed it, actually. Had a creepy feel to it. I think the baghead chick, really good. Soft steering. I mean, like that. You put me on edge again. I thought she looked really creepy and cool.

Sometimes she looked a bit too CGI and a bit like, okay. But when she had the bag on and how she moved was really creepy. I quite liked the concept. I found it was a bit different how she could change into the dead and everything. I liked that. So yeah, no. I enjoyed it. It was, for me, it's good. It's good movie. Yeah. Get me a few else to say. This is the thing about this year, man. I'm finding this a lot about this year is that there are some decent movies coming out.

But the ones that I've got listed highest on my list. I don't feel that their movies that will be in my top 10. So unless this year fucking sucks, I won't have the top 10 that I'm proud of this year. I'm sorry, unless this year picks up. You know what I'm saying? This movie is just like I've got five movies that are all kind of sitting on my one and I can't pick just one. You know, they're all just there, but I can't pick one and be happy with it. This is just one of those movies. I enjoyed it.

But it had some plot holes, it had some character decisions that I was questioning. Lack of gore, I found it's been a problem. I thought it could have been agreed. It better start with some gore and some epicness. But, and I'm not sitting here saying that this is an original story because I saw a lot of people on the box saying this is just talk to me but just not as good. Which I don't agree with because it is different. But it is different, but it does have a lot of similar vibes.

Yeah, it does, but I enjoyed it for what it was. I'm super jealous of this girl who gets just given a fucking property. Yeah. Because that won't ever happen to me. That would be nice. Yeah, I mean, I'll even take it with the bag here then. Yeah, say, just don't use her. It annoyed me. She did some questionable decisions, which annoyed me. Yeah, she's done things. She's, he's, he's won annoyed me. All right, and it's a bit spoilers, but whatever.

What the fuck did the dad think was going to happen when he dies? Like, how do you, he's like, I didn't write a will. Yeah. What do you think happens when you don't write it? Why don't you will it to somebody else? Yeah. Yeah. Because that's what the will they told you tell what you want to happen. Otherwise, they contact the closest relative you're trying to fucking protect apparently. Yeah. Another, another plot hole I said to Tim is when, another spoiler, sorry. When he died.

Yes. Why, why was she still there? He left the door open. So she had no, no watcher then. Yeah, I don't know. I don't know. Yeah. All right, no more spoilers. Okay, sorry, beeps. But no, I think it's a, I think it's a good movie. This is one that I could rewatch. I will say that. So that's a plus for me. Okay. But I gave it a seven and a half out of ten. What did you give the Joe? I'll go and eight. Oh shit. Mushroom. I gave it a flat seven. A seven, a zin plus. Okay, if you will.

All right, so we're all around the same marks. Yeah. All right, so back in, which has come into shutter, like soon, I believe. So you'll be able to see it there. It was at cinemas, and I kind of wish I didn't see it at the cinemas, but me and cinemas just doesn't really happen anymore. I'm kind of okay with it. All right. So that was it. I just want to go check out a bunch of stuff at the cinemas this way. So do I. But I just don't have the money all the time to do it.

So it's not going to happen. I do. I want to do Godzilla, Ghostbusties, and Late Night with a Devil are on my list. You're not going to go see the first omen? I don't really care. Apparently it's getting good reviews, which shocks me because, yeah. Okay. I didn't expect you to check it out. Maybe I'll check it out. Yeah. There's some good stuff. And I'm macular. I'm macular too. Maybe I'll say macular. Yeah, so fuck that's five horror movies in the cinemas right now.

Yeah. I'm not going to watch Jesus. Anyway. That is it for our extended what horrors have you done. See what happens when we don't have to watch movies for the show. I know. That's what I was like. Okay, what's whatever I want. I better watch all the fucking 2024 movies. Yeah, exactly. So we're going to get stuck into the bulk of it and then hit you with the main event. But first we've got what? I mean, no, we did that. What's the next thing? Question. Another week of the week. Kristina Dewey.

Question of the week for last time was which is the premium horror podcast? Now, backstory to this question. I got told that I have to ask this question by Heather Powell because she's got this stick that she thinks she's the premium podcaster in the world. So she just wanted to just fishing for compliments here. So, yeah. So this is all Heather's question and it got hardly any replies. So our lack of engagement is all Heather's fault. Basically, yeah. All right.

So we'll start with Heather Powell. She had to answer her own question. She says, clearly, she said, clearly slush a radio and the Friday night there's podcasts. I heard those podcasts hosts are real professionals. Sometimes. Well done, Heather. You're such a professional podcast host. I was going to go so hard and rip Scott and Heather apart this episode. But I'm feeling like shit and I just can't be fucked right now. So Heather, you just wait till next episode.

I'm going to channel my inner Scott Crawford and do a 40 minute intro of myself. You be nice. They cool dude and do that. They are cool. They're just not the premium podcast hosts that they claim to be. Scott is not so much Heather. Wow. You be nice. She's a babe. Geez, okay. She's coming down under soon. Anyway, Jay Talbot says, I really like Kim and Kat stay alive. Maybe. Each week one tells the other in great detail about a horror movie they have watched.

I do a lot of driving for work so it's great to hear a movie. They are also very funny and witty. I haven't heard of this Kim and Kat stay alive. Maybe show. This is some podcast isn't a funny and witty. Yeah, not us. We're very serious. Amanda Barba says honestly. She's like really like to break down shots and scenes and feelings. You're a guy who converted you. Yeah, you make me sick. Amanda Barba says honestly, it's you guys. I love the banter between you two.

You remind me of me and my brother's conversations. I will catch up. I promise. Thank you, Amanda. And she's been doing a good job of capturing our show. Paul Motherfucking Lindsay says, I listen to yours and scared to death. I haven't heard of scared to death. Another show I need to check up on. Thunder Twonk. It says obviously you guys, but also the horror countdown with Don Anelli and Cinema Syops. Honestly, there are a few more as well.

I just really enjoy folks discussing horror in an entertaining way. Shout out to horror countdown with Don Anelli and Cinema Syops. Both great shows. Agreed. And Beatre Mine comes in last and says, my podcast, of course. And his podcast is, he has fucking heaps. But yeah, there's a lot of him. His own show is Beat vs The Living Dead, where basically his show is every episode is a review of a new thing on the Night of the Living Dead.

So a new, you know how Night of the Living Dead is public domain. And there's like 40 different versions of that movie. Actually didn't know that. Okay, yeah, because people can just fucking sell it to David E and make their own money. They always put it in like special deluxe edition where it's like screened differently. Or there's added bonus stuff into it or something like that. Plus there's remakes and then the comic books and novels and things like that.

So Beat just goes through every episode is like something new on the Night of the Living Dead. It's fucking cool. That's fucking crazy. Yeah. And then he's got another one. Beat and Steve on Camp Crystal Lake. I think it's called. It's basically the same thing but with Jason. That's fun. Yeah, it's a great show. So go and check out Beatre Mine with Beat vs. Shit. Beat vs. The Living Dead. Fuck me. So like shit, I apologize. Anyway, question of the week for next time. Simple one.

In your opinion, what is the best decade of horror? Because whatever we vote is the best, I'm sure Rob Hungy's going to go, that's not the best. You're horrible, you're a job. Or something like that. How did you get it? See, and Punk wasn't born in this decade. Rob, I'm going to need to leave now. Really sorry, what's on this bracket show? Rob, this is not even the wrestling show. The shape of water is definitely a horror movie. I'll fight you. I mean, it is. And panel activity sucks.

I mean, it's okay. But you don't have to hate every single movie that comes out. I love three horror movies ever. Oh my god, just tell me what are they? Shape of water. And the shape of water on repeat. The shape of water. Two more times. Get out of here. Go and get. All right. Before we get into the main event, this is as quickly. This is breaking news right now. And I'm going to let Mushroom do the honor. But we are starting a brand new segment right here right now.

And this is all Mushroom's idea. So I'm going to let him explain exactly what the fuck it is. Oh, just that? Yeah. Joel, I was going to get Tim to recommend me some horror homework. And yeah, basically just pick a retro movie that I should just have in my horror arsenal. So from here on in, we're going to be doing this new segment. What's it called, Mushroom? Just horror homework. Horror homework. Where I give Loufi a movie. And he has to come back with a full book report.

Yeah, a full 32 page book report. It was good. It was good. All right. So your first assignment. Yeah. And this is because I watched it for the decades of horror. And I wasn't a fan. But I feel like you're going to love this movie. I want you to watch Street Trash. Ooh. Okay. I'd already forgotten that I said I'd watch it. Yeah. So see, this is what I want to do. I want to do it. Street Trash 19 and 87 I think. I think. 80 question mark. Got it. Yeah. All right. So we'll come back.

We'll report in. Next week. Hey, you guys can watch Street Trash with me if you want to. Or not with me. Don't come. Don't interact with me. Everyone invited to Mushroom's house. No, don't. Don't come to my house or talk to me or look at me. Go away. But you could also watch it in your own house and away from me. Good. I cleared that up. So watch Street Trash and everyone bring your thoughts in for next episode. All right. It's time. It's time we get into the meat and potatoes of the show.

We need to decide which is the best decade of horror. Here it is. Feature. Presentation. And now for our feature presentation. I live in the leak and the wounded. I am the devil. And I am here to do the devil's work. They will say that I have shed innocent blood. What's blood for? If not for shedding. I just can't take no pleasure at killing them. That's all things you gotta do. Don't mean you have lighted. There is nothing to worry about. You're gonna be just as I am. I'm your number one fan.

If you just go, it's a little mad sometimes. We all go a little mad sometimes. I like it though I say girls. Did you know I'm utterly insane? You want to know what happens to an eyeball when it gets a punty drink? You got any idea how much blood jets out of a guy's neck is thrown to the ceiling? Do you know what the most frightening thing in the world is? It's fear. Hello. Have you checked the children's room? No! Where's the baby? Where's the baby? Where's the baby? Wait right there Mr. Pinou.

How do you know my name? I didn't tell you my name. Hang up. I didn't tell you my name. You're all a part of it. They're all parts of it. Whatever you do, don't fall asleep. Afraid! Don't be afraid! No. Be afraid. Be very afraid. You just can't let them go. Go. Stay on the road and keep glaring at them or else they wear them all nuts. They mostly come at night. Mostly. I'm scared to close my eyes. I'm scared to open them. Let it die out of here. What do we do?

Why don't we just... wait here for a little while. See what happens? Oh, don't! I'm just feeling... It's a lie. I'm not sure. Wait. Look very nice. You know what's gazing. It has from the very beginning. Don't give it any help. It knows too much already. This is it. The grand finale of the decades of horror. We have the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s and the 2000s and 10s all coming in. We just did the matchups.

The matchups are going to be the 90s versus the 2000s, the 70s versus the 60s and the 80s versus the 2000s and 10s. The way we're going to do this is if you are a Patreon or no of our bracket episodes, that's how we're going to do it on this episode. Basically we're just going to go through bracket form. That's why there's three of us here. We can all put an input in and there's no ties. But in the result of a tie, because at the end there will be a triple threat match.

If we do have a tie, then we're going to take it to the polls. And you, the listeners, are going to decide the winning franchise. So... It's okay. Yeah. If you're fucking dickhead. So let's start with the 90s, versing the 2000s. We'll talk about who we got represented in the 90s. Can we do the 2000s first? Who we got represented in the 2000s, I meant. Did I say 90s? I meant 2000. So we're doing it each decade has a pack of fighters sort of thing.

Pretty much, yeah. Okay. Yeah, I'll just list a bunch of films out. And yeah, we'll see how it goes from there. Okay. So the 2000s, we'll start with that. We've got movies such as Let the Right One In. Have you, Joe, have you seen Let the Right One In? No, haven't. Ho... I... I don't know how you would... You need to show her that fucking movie. I don't know what she'd think about it. I think she... She'd even be amazed by it and moved. Or she'd find it boring. Yeah, it's the...

It entiers or like... Who was this? Stupid. It's a movie where after you're done watching it, you think about it and you're like, Oh! Oh! Like that. Is it your real life? Is that going to be my reaction? No. I need to sit you down and watch it. It's fucking... It's a vampire movie, but the most unique vampire movie ever. It's my number three movie of all time. Wow. Yeah. And that's not even that old, is it? Oh... 2008. Oh, really? There you go. Oh, wow. Yeah. That's old now.

Actually, I wouldn't mind this world now. I don't say that. That's scary. 2008 is old now. I literally thought that was like five years ago. Yeah. Like this movie. You know. They did a remake with Chloe Grace Moretz. And I was actually thinking about doing an episode of Original Versus Remake. Yeah. Because I don't remember the remake and I want to kind of revisit it. I don't think I watched it because I was like, I love the original too much. Anything but this is going to be shit.

We'll talk about it. I'll get Joel to watch it and we'll get her first opinions. Sure. So let the right one in obviously be represented by the 2000s. The Pan's Labyrinth, which is mushroom's like second favorite movie of all time. Yep. The host, which is a South Korean monster movie, which is pretty good. Drag me to hell. That's what I love. Yeah. Yeah. That's so much fun. Dude, short of the dead. Short of the dead. Jalice doesn't like short of the dead. I do. It's so good. It's so good.

It's got funny parts, but I hate it how he just wants to get to the pub. It's always the pub, the pub, the pub. It's fucking annoying. That's the point. Anyway, don't know. REC. Like the whole REC franchise. Probably one of the best found footage movies ever. Like the point. Sorry. That's okay. I'm just going to say the point of short of the dead is his reluctant to change even if the world was falling apart around him. He's still reluctant to change. He just wants to go to the pub.

But she hates it that he won't change. Yeah, I know. I get what you say. That's why she left it in the wood. You're supposed to not like Sean because he won't change. Yeah. But he had read on him. I did. Anyway, the zombie land. I'm just going to list these. All right. So zombie land 28 days later. The orphanage. Yeah. You haven't seen the orphanage. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You haven't seen the orphanage have you? I don't think so. Oh. It will make you cry. You're again.

Yes. Did we watch the orphanage? We did. Well, I. Yes. We know we did. I'm sure we did an episode on it. It's fan. Like, um. Gielma Del Toro. He didn't direct it. I think he wrote it or something like that. Anyway, it fucking like when it hits the twist, you're like, oh, we fuck. It breaks your heart. Um, the descent, slither. Um, then you got like Freddy versus Jason, the hills of eyes remake, the dawn of the dead remake, um, Texas Chainsaw massacre remake, the devil's rejects. Um, yep.

Hatch it. Wrong turn. All these different films. Is there anything I'm missing mushroom? Um, paranormal activity. Yes. Yeah. So the 2000s were thick. Stacked. Thick with fucking horror movies. Um, slither. Do you say slither? Slither. No, that's fun. So let's go into the 90s now. And it's going to be hard. It's going to be hard to beat, um, the 2000s because there was a lot of stuff on the 2000s that were fine. But the 90s. The 90s. We always had scream, scream one and two.

We had, um, the ring, like the Japanese ring. Ring, uh, silence of the lambs, a rack nephobia, which is Julius' favorite movie. Yeah. Misery, which is my favorite movie from the 90s. Um, Dead Alive, which is mushroom's favorite movie from the 90s. So go ahead. The farmers, obviously the Blair Witch Project, the sixth sense audition, uh, candy men. Fuck, candy men. Anaconda. Anaconda. Wes Craven's new nightmare. Which neither of you guys have seen, have you?

No. I've, I saw it, but many, many, many moons ago and I couldn't tell you one thing that happened. Okay. It's another movie I wouldn't mind rewatching. So, uh, Bram Stoker's Dracula. Um, there is a lot here that I'm missing. Jacob's Ladder. Gremlins 2. Funny games. Um, Sleepy Hollow. The people under the stairs. Focus, focus. The nightmare before Christmas. Stura Vecco's Army of Darkness mushroom. Yeah. Uh, Night of the Living Dead, the remake, which is really good actually.

It, the original it, the frighteners. Obviously. Frienters. Yeah. Um, mimic. That was fun. Interview with a vampire. Yeah. I like that one. I didn't mind it. Wolf, Jack Nicholson's Wolf, from Dustal Dawn. Cute. Yes. Um, Cemetery Man. Yeah. So there's either craft. The mouth of madness, the exorcist three Frankenhooker. The faculty. The faculty, yeah. I'll hand. Desper comes her. You know that movie? Yeah. Really? Yeah, that's a great movie. I've never seen it. It's really good.

That's why we have to show you. Oh, okay. Yeah. I have no idea what it's even about. Oh, it's great. We got to, death becomes our. Oh, Halloween H2O. Yeah, my favorite. So, this is favorite. Casper. Oh, night freed. Yeah. So, look, the 90s had a lot of films as well. But only one decade can advance. So here it is. 90s versus 2000s. Who wants to go first? Hmm. I've put an answer straight up. So do I. I have a feeling you and me have the same answer. So I'm going to let Mushroom go first.

I could be fucking myself, but I feel like I know what you guys are going to pick. So I'm going to pick 90s. All right. Okay. I'm going to go next because I'm picking the 2000s. Oh, okay. What are you picking? I'm going 90s. Holy fucky series. Yeah. There's a lot more movies that I enjoy there and that I'll easily put back on and compared to like the hills of I, since shit, I don't really care about. Well, the 90s has a lot more movies that I'll go back to.

Oh, I thought for sure you guys are going to pick the 2000s. I'm sorry. Sorry, I know. That's okay. I'm just shocked. Why did you sound like you're crying? Not crying. All right. Well, there we go. The 90s advance. We say goodbye to the 2000s. I'm saying. That's honestly. I'm expected. Upset. Honestly, for me, this one was the hardest one by far. So I'm glad it just something happened. It definitely is. We don't have to pick anymore. Yeah. Then my babies. So I- So Luffy.

Yeah, that was a bad subject. That's right. We should have read on the matchup on that. I guess I should have listened to files like on the fence. I thought it was the 2000s because I was struggling to think of movies from the 90s that are like- The 90s. It's like I'm not happy. I'm not happy about either. Like they're both bangers. Yeah. Yeah. All right. So we're going to the next matchup and this is the 70s, versing the 60s. The 60s get in a second chance draw here.

Unfortunately, they're going up against the 70s. All right. Familiarize us with some decade-y stuff. All right. Well, we'll go with the 70s first. 70s had such classics as Jaws. Halloween. I didn't mean it. Well, it's the first one. I didn't mean it. I fucked my voice. I didn't mean it like that. It's Ivy. Fuck you. So Jaws, Halloween, Alien, Dawn of the Dead, the Exorcist, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Kerry, the Wicker Man, the Omen, Jesus. Fucking Christ.

That is like eight films there that are all like absolute must-watches. If you're- I throw a race ahead. A race ahead. Yeah. The last house on the left. A Bay of Blood, the Brood. The Abominal Doctor Vibes. Black Christmas. Alice, sweet Alice. The Hills Have Eyes. King Kong. Orca. Which is highly underrated. Orca. That's a good movie. I remember watching that one with you. Yeah. The Amityville Horror. Piranha, Count Dracula. It's a live phantasm. Jaws too. Oh, phantasm, sure.

Grizzly, when a stranger calls. Attack of the Kill Lombards of Matoes. Yeah, sure. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Basically, the Horror of Frankenstein, the Swarm Frogs, I Spit On Your Grave. Frog Man. So- Oh, that's earlier. Man, the 70s are kind of fucking stacked. But let's get in to the 60s and have a look at what horror movies they brought to the table. If I can find it, there we go. I think it's three. I can think of four. What are your three? A psycho. Yep. That's from the 60s. Rose marines baby.

Yeah. They're actually the first two. And not a little thing. First three. The other one I could think of was the Birds from 63. Yep. But then you've also got movies such as The Devil Rides Out, Dracula, Prince of Darkness, The Haunting, The Curse, The Werewolf, Carnival of Souls, Village of the Damned, The Last Man on Earth, which was really good. Frankenstein must be destroyed. The Brides of Dracula, Black Sabbath, Dimension 13.

Black Sabbath. Man, us the Hands of Fate, which has been given a 1.6 rating on IMDB, is actually one of the worst movies ever made. Oh really? I know of that movie only because it was like a mystery science theater movie. Yeah, yeah. I've never seen it, but I want to because I want to see why it's so bad. There was so weird. There was a mobile game of it that I played a lot of.

Yeah, there was a weird like App Store mobile game for a man of the hands of fate, like phone game that I played heats of. That's a lot of fun though. Yep. Anyway, there you go. So that list that you just read is that all the 60s horror movies? No, there's like more, but that's IMDB saying the best. That's really sure. Yeah, yeah. Gulp. That's fucking all. Okay. Alright, so here we are, the 70s versus the 60s.

Look, I understand that everyone wanted the 60s to come back, but it, and there's this was just a random number generator that it went up against the 70s. So we're sorry, but is anyone here voting for the 60s? No, I'm like no. Sorry, no. Go the 70s. So the 70s advance. Everyone cool with that? Yep. Yep. Alright. I'm cool with that one that I was the last one. Yeah, that was, that was a lot easier. Yeah. So let's go over to the next matchup, which is the 80s versus the 2010s.

Ooh. Okay. This one's going to be harder. Definitely. Um, if I can fucking, oh my god damn phone. It's just been a dick today. Alright. The 80s. We'll start with the 80s. What movies did the 80s bring to the table? Jesus Christ. What on it, too? Bremlins, uh, basket case. They live. I really need to watch that. Childs play, yes, it's right up your alley. You would love it. I don't understand why you haven't seen it.

Um, childs play, Friday night, uh, the Howling, American Well, in London, Creep Show, Old Razor, um, obviously Friday the 13th, No, I'm Aaron Omsdreet, um, and my phone's just not giving me anything. Fucking hell. Evil Dad. Come on guys, 80s movies. Lost boys. Yeah, the Lost Boys, the Shining, Day of the Dead, Polterguys, the Stuff. I liked the Stuff, fuck you. Kujo, um, the Gate, the Fly, Ghostbusters. Just say Reanimator. Yeah, Reanimator, the best of fog. Christine Beetlejuice.

Oh, yeah. Predator. Oh, Predator, yeah. Critters, Pat Cemetery. Do I say Howl, Razor? Howl, Razor, little shop of horrors. He said Evil Dad, right? I did say the Evil Dad, yeah. Okay. I like how we both forgot in both. We're a minute at the same time. Yeah, Evil Dad 2, Creep Show, yeah, dude, I mean, it's the 80s. Terminator. Yeah, Terminator. Terminator. Yeah. I think the 80s here is like a, um, well, what was you call it? Uh, uh, it brought out a shitton.

Yeah, but it's like a, a high contender for most people. People say it's the best decade. It's like the golden age, the golden decade for horror. Yeah. So I mean, it's going to be hard to beat, but let's have a look at the 2000s, because you got films such as The Witch. Me. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. You don't like it either? I fucking hate it. And he made me watch it like twice. Yeah. After I'd already fucking seen it, it's fucking donkey dicks. Anyway, it's not. It's brilliant.

You just don't get it there. It's not. Uh, it follows. Yep. The conjuring, the conjuring too, and the whole conjuring universe. Yep. Uh, the visit, the Bubba duke, sinister, evil dead remake, which is great. Rob Hunky. Mm-hmm. Uh, your next, Dr. Sleep, terrifying. There you are next. Your next. It's a great, light out creep. Creep was fucking great. Halloween, us, um, get out, insidious. The No. Where I'm street remake, joeysel. There's Haunt. Is that the one where the friends go in?

Yeah. Haunt was fucking great. No. Where I'm street remake. Mm-hmm. Yep. Oh. That was okay. Uh, Yuck. I just, you just said, yeah, fucking hated it. VHS, the cabin in the woods, Crampus. Um. Oh, the autopsy of Jane Doe. Yeah. I loved that one. Yep. Tucker and Dale vs. Evil. Childs play a quiet place. Yeah. Dude, the 2000s had a lot coming out. And this is harder than you expect because the 2000s, like, was... I don't think anyone realized it at the time. But it was up there as one of the...

Like, especially the later years of the 2000s. It was challenging coming up with the top 10. But we've got to make the decision. This one's going to be hard. It is. 80s vs. the 2010s for best decade. Fluffy, would you like to go first? Um. I will, if you guys want to still decide. I don't even... I haven't even thought of thinking about it yet, to be honest. Yeah, you go first. Okay. Here's my thing, right? And this is my opinion.

The 2000s... the 2010s, sorry, is when I really started to heavily watch horror films. Like, we started this podcast in 2017. But before that, I was doing written reviews. So I started doing, like, properly watching yearly horror films in 2016. And while it does have an abundance of good, heavy hitters, there is also a lot of shit. The 80s on the other hand, yeah, it also had some shit. I mean, every decade does. But the 80s has this feel that I fucking love.

The music, the style, everything about it, the over-the-top gore. Everything about the 80s, for me, just is so much fun. And there's days where I'm just like, I need to like, just have a relaxing, like, just kind of like a spa day for my brain. Yeah. And that usually includes just putting on an 80s horror film for me. And that usually does the trick. So for me, I'm going the 80s on this. I love the 2010s and it did awesome. But the 80s were, to me, just fucking awesome. So I'm taking 80s.

Up to you guys now. Okay. Ooh. You guys still deciding? I know. But I want to tell the go. No, no, you go. Because I saw. I think I know, but I don't know. You go. If I go with Don. Oh, okay. Because, well, I mean, I run, well, then I have an 80s. Now that I've said that, I'm going the 80s. Yeah. Because, yeah, legit. Like, just, there's something so fucking fun about the 80s. It was just when, I don't know, they kind of like had the moat.

The 80s seems like they had the most fun with horror movies. Yeah, exactly. They weren't trying to be too fucking serious. They weren't trying to like hold back on the gore or, or, or, or like, they were just like, we're going to fuck up these practical effects as much as possible. We're going to put haves and fucking titties in it. It's going to be as much blood and nymphs as we can fit on the fucking film. Yeah. And it was fucking great.

Yeah. 80s. Yeah. Joyce, I like what, we're going to show this fucking chick's tits and we're going to cut her fucking head off. Exactly. Another point that you made me realize is that the 80s was a decade where they didn't give a fuck where there's a tape like we saw more wokeness and I'll just over that shit. Everybody, 10 years was like butterflies. Yeah. Really when like horror movies just kind of got their dick out. Exactly. You know what I mean?

Exactly. Yeah. I'm going to have to agree and go 80s. Fuck. Yeah, get your dick out. The 2010s had some amazing movies like The Conjuring and that and of course watching them, they're clearer and better shot and everything. But as Tim said before, the 80s have a special feel and what you said too, Luffy, there's just something about the 80s. Yeah. It's always just good fun to watch. So yeah, 80s it is.

Yeah. Yeah. And this now like we say goodbye to the 2010s, I honestly didn't expect the final three to be the 70s, 80s and 90s. I thought either the 2000s or the 2010s would be up there. I thought so too. So for me, this next question, the grand final, the award winner for the best decade, to me this answer is easy. So let's do it. To round it out, the best decade, the 70s, 80s and 90s, I'm taking the 80s straight up.

And I look, I know that there's so many people out there that hate it when people say, oh, the 80s is the best decade. It's, I hear a lot of people saying, oh, the 70s is the best decade. And I get it, the 70s had like fucking some of the heaviest hitters out there, the exorcist, Halloween, alien, jaws, those movies, Texas, Changs or Massacre. But, and I think this is just a me problem. I haven't seen as many 70s films as 80s.

Another thing about the 70s is it was, it was heavily in religious style. And that doesn't really resonate with me. The 80s style was just so much more fun. And so much more me, if that makes sense. And the 90s, I'll be real man, the 90s is like just like a lesser version of the 70s. I get that you guys really enjoy it. There are films that are great, but there's no real, like there's like this, the handful of classics.

But compared to the 80s, for me, no. The 80s is the clear cut winner for this. That's my opinion. I'm gonna let you guys go for it. Oh god, this one's tough. What you do is you talk it out. And while you're talking your brains, I was going, yeah, this is the winner. Is that what you do? I kind of went in now. Yeah, pretty much. That's how I go through my life. Mushroom, do you have any idea? Yeah. Okay, so we're just waiting on Jill. I think I know what he's doing. Shit, this is tough.

One's an easy knockout for me. Well, what would say? Yeah, it was knockout. Oh, the 70s is the knockout. Yeah. 70s is my knockout too. Shit. Oh, yeah, like as you said, they had some good heavy hitters, but it's between the 90s and the 80s for me. See, the 90s would have been my knockout. Now, say in this one, I do love the 80s. You said there's a special feel for it, but I also really love the 90s. And I think the 90s has more nostalgic feel for me with some movies.

So I think I'm going to have to take 90s on this one. Fuck. All right. We have a definite winner there. If Mushroom said the 70s is he's knockout. I could pick the 70s to fuck with everybody. So it's up to you, man. You are the deciding vote here. Are you there? Yeah, I'm just thinking, sorry. Sorry, sorry. He's like on the road overload. They're both really good decades. I have more top movies in my 90s. But I'm just going to go with my number one pick. Yeah, do it.

And so my fucking favorite movie ever, horror wise, and probably everything, is Evil Dead 2. And that's from 1987. Okay. So I'm a greatness. That's funny. I'm going to go with 1987. Yeah, a lot of bad things happen that year. Parable, horrible things. But there was one bright shining star and that was Evil Dead 2. That's so funny. That didn't really save the 80s. You're great, aren't you? So you're picking the 80s to win. Yeah, look, you got it like in my list anyway, like my forever list.

You got Return of Living Dead, Bola, The Fly, Bola. Like, it's, yeah. Yeah. Grandlands, fuck, whatever. Like, you know what? Here's the thing that sends me to, whenever I'm going through like a 2B or any of the streaming sites or whatever, and I'm like scrolling for a goofy fucking horror movie to kill 90 minutes and a handful of brain cells, I'm always leaning towards a fucking, like if there's a wacky 80s, slasher or some shit that I haven't seen before, like I'm just about it, you know?

Yeah. Like if I'm going to have a good time with a horror movie, it's probably going to be from the 80s. Yeah. Yeah. And like, I feel that this is kind of a low-hanging fruit that the 80s is a decade. But to me, it's the right answer. Remember? I wrote it down at the start. What I thought was going to win, too. Did you? And that didn't influence my shit because I was going to do 90s. Yeah. I said to Tim before we even started recording, 80s is going to take this out. But I was like 80s.

I wrote down 80s. See, it's crazy because like, remember being a kid, and this is where the 80s like reflects me, being a kid and walking into the video store and just seeing all the horror sections and all the movie posters of the VHS covers. And then the majority of them were 80s. And then you go in like an 80s section on fucking Netflix or you look at 80s films. That's what I'm saying, but the covers. Yeah, the covers are so cool. As you said, it has a feel. Yeah, it really does.

Well, to me, I feel 90s as a feel for me as well compared to the 2000s and that. Because that's because you're a 90s kid, too. Yeah, maybe. Yes. Okay, last question here. If these matchups were any different out of the six decades, the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s and 2010s, which would be the grand final for you? Pick two decades of the other ones that didn't make it. Or like any decades for me, like, for example, me, it's 80s versus 2000s. Okay. There's a lot of shame.

I don't know if you remember what's in the 2000s now. It was the first matchup. It was 90s versus 2000. Yeah, I got really. Yeah, it was. Okay. That's what it was. It was so hard. And I was honestly leaning more towards 2000s. Yeah. But 90s is still fucking, like, these are all mad. Okay. Well, the question stands at these six decades. Like, we've decided that 80s is the best and that's the winner. But in your opinion, what is the best decade?

I really think 2000s is the strongest because I fucking love it 2000s. Okay. But you voted the 90s. I know because I thought it was going to go all 2000s, clean, clean, clean, fuck sweep for the 2000s. Yeah. So I voted 90s. So you were expecting. You were expecting. You were expecting. Yeah, because I wanted to give some love for the 90s. And then I accidentally put it through. But I do love it. So you were given the 90s a pity vote.

Not a pity vote, but just I, like, people talk so much about 90s horror. And I fucking love 90s horror. Yeah. So yeah, I wanted to throw one at it. But yeah, I do like to get involved. They expect me to go 90s. No, literally. It's a comms and you can go to the pool. Not at all. Yeah. I feel like that sounds just like. Sorry. Well, this concludes that people, the 80s, has taken it out, which now means. Is it? Does that mean we've got to do like the, or you or me or whatever we're doing?

Well, I'm doing it. You can do it with me and so can you, Joe, and it's up to you guys. What are we doing? I'm doing, which is the best year of the 80s. Oh, Jesus. And it's going to take me a while. It will take me a few years to complete this. Oh my God. But I'll be starting obviously with 1980 and watching every single movie that I can find from that year. Jesus Christ. And doing a top 10 and then so on and so forth.

And then coming up with this decision on which year I think is the best straight up in my opinion right now. I obviously haven't watched every single 80s movie. Can I guess what you're going to say? Yeah. In 2007. And that's not just because I was born, but I have three movies that are a 10 out of 10 and in my top fucking five. Predator, the Lost Boys and George the Revenge. Yeah. So it's going to be hard to do that. And no, not able to do it. Ah, I'm dead too.

But yeah, 87 also has Street Trash and I hate that movie. So, oh yeah, Street Trash. Yeah, which is the movie that you need to watch for your horror homework. I will do my own work. I should get Joe to watch it too because I actually know I don't want you to watch it. What's going to say? Don't make a word. Don't make it. It's got rape. Oh, I know. Yes, it doesn't rape. Yeah. It does have rape in it. Yes. Because you were like, it's going to hold on to rape. Yeah. It's like a failure too.

Oh yeah. Oh no. And like a football. I'm a soul, I'm a soul. I'm a penis. Of what? Yeah. Football scene with a penis. Yes. Now I'm trying to think of it. I'll tell you off here and I want to spoil it. Okay. Yeah. But anyway, guys, that concludes this episode of The Dummies of Horror. I fucked up. I totally was meant to look at what we're doing next time. We have a Patreon pick for the next episode. And if you give me just two seconds, I can go and search up. What we're doing. Do you do?

Do you do? Do you do? Do you do? I believe it's a... Ah, da da da da da da da da da da da da da da. So this is the Patreon pick from J-Talbot. And I need... She wants us to do backcountry. But I can't remember the theme. I need to go back into it. But we'll be doing something more and more. I believe it's like survival horror or something like that, which is right up my alley. But next time, we're going to be reviewing backcountry and maybe something else. But uh...

Okay. ...object with us and we'll do something cool. But in the meantime, let us know what decade is your personal favorite? What you think is the best? Be subjective. Don't go by favorites. But like, give us your subjective vote. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, all that good places. We do have a Patreon page opened. We just released our newest bracket episode, which was best wrestling theme music in honor of WrestleMania that just happened. You'll never believe who gets but hurt in this one.

Yeah, that's true. It wasn't me this time. I said what? Can't tell it. Well, there's two other people here. Gonna give them some tips. Um... go and any if you are a wrestling fan, go and check out my other show, Wrestling for Dummies or Dummies of Wrestling. Sorry. You'll know exactly who gets but hurt in that one. Yeah. That's a good one. I don't even actually know. I'm just assuming. Well, go listen to the show and you'll hear me talk about it. He'll know. Cheers, Chris. Thank you.

We do also have a TikTok account where I very rarely post videos up. But if you like to see my face, you can tell if you want to see some videos sometimes. Yeah. I did the other day and I'm like, oh, I got 400 and like something views. And then I realized that views mean fuck all but whatever. Yeah. It's the likes that count. Oh, sure, I got three likes. That's all they. That's something. I'm moving on to those people that like pop up on my TikTok where it's like zero likes and zero.

Yeah. Who the fuck are these people? Yeah, exactly. But anyway, that is it for us. Thank you guys so much. Thank you, Jordy, for giving us this idea of the decades of horror. It's been a long time going by time. We appreciate it. It was fun. It was fun. It was fun. Thank you, Jaliza, for joining us on this episode. You're welcome. We obviously couldn't have done it without you. Maybe you'll even throw up a poll of 80s versus 2000s and see what everyone else says. Yeah. Do you love me?

I'll be curious. Yeah, I mean. I'm curious to see the poll. You can do it. Yeah. Look, if you will get his 2000s vote on there. Yeah. Well, it's come from the woman's mouth herself. She says she's interested in seeing the poll. So that means I have to leave you out. Or I can put this stone code and rock trilogy at WrestleMania. I'm going to put it for that. For someone else's does. No, I can turn off when people make their own options. No, it's not. That's fun. All right, I'll watch.

Anyway, that's it for my skies. We'll catch you on the next episode of the dummies of horror. Thank you again for joining us. We out this bitch. Say goodbye. Bye. Bye everybody. Oh, wait, wait. Can one of you guys do the dip because I can't do it right now? Oh, a dip. No, Jolice, you do it. You're not going to do it. Yeah. It's very good. Fuck you, Moshra. Feel the breeze. I feel the light.
