Episode 69: One Too Many Vodka Crans
The Premier League is drunk. And, honestly, at this point, so are we. We go over Pickford's horrendous challenge, the worst team in London (read: still Tottenham), and Aston Villa's come up in this week's pod.

The Premier League is drunk. And, honestly, at this point, so are we. We go over Pickford's horrendous challenge, the worst team in London (read: still Tottenham), and Aston Villa's come up in this week's pod.
So, capitalism has apparently riddled the minds of the Top 6 clubs in England. Also, who came up with these Project names? Meanwhile, this week we also go over the tasty Champions League ties coming up over the next several weeks in the group stages.
So, La Liga had another relatively dramaless weekend. God football, but no drama. That was until, of course, the vote of no confidence against the Barcelona board was confirmed. We break down all the latest in La Liga, including Barcelona's draw with Sevilla and Atlético going peak Simeone.
With a weekend filled with drama, shock results, and more red-card controversy, you'd think we'd name this podcast something else. But, NOPE. Rheon has a new theory. Elyas continually craps all over United's hopes and dreams. Spurs did a (good) thing. Oh, and Liverpool just...I don't even know. We go over ALL of that this week.
So, the title says it all, but that isn't to say that the ~narratives~ were not in full swing this weekend. Barça putting up an impressive first half performance against Villarreal, Atleti showing that they are now capable of actually scoring goals, and Real Madrid struggling to kick into 5th gear - we recap it all.
Liverpool showed this weekend why they won the league last season ahead of Manchester City, but honestly that wasn't even the biggest storyline. More handball (not VAR, we should note) controversy was the big debate in England this week and we cover it all on this week's podcast for the Premier League.
In this week's episode, we go over the weekend's results (no, not the Eagles...we don't talk about them...ever) in England and Spain, why Everton are going to win it all, what United need to do after a poor showing against Palace, and what on EARTH is going on at Atletico, Real, and Barça.
Somehow, somewhere, our friend Alex Norman, a life long Fulham fan, comes on the pod to explain to us why Fulham aren't doomed to relegation just yet. But, after watching Spurs this weekend maybe Mourinho should worry about that too.
La Liga is also BACK! On this week's pod, we review the Top 4 teams in Spain last season going through what to expect from them this season and our picks for teams to watch as well. Also, as a bonus, Elyas goes over why Barcelona have NOT had the worst summer in Europe.
European football is slowly coming back. Nature is healing.
Not too much is going on in the soccer world right now.... other than the messiest (pun-intended) transfer saga of the summer. In today's episode, we're talking about the latest on Messi's Barcelona departure and answer listener's questions on the summer transfer window so far!
This one hurts.
We. Are. BACK. We finally got the chance to record in person, face-to-face, mono-e-mono. After our few weeks off, we'll be talking about the recent Champions League results, our predictions for the final, and what happened to Man City and Barcelona (tears).
The Premier League and La Liga seasons are now officially over. As I weep in sorrow and Rheon celebrates Chelsea headed back to the Champions League, we recap what we learned throughout the season in both leagues, the final day in England, and what to expect in the Champions League. Oh, and we'll be taking a quiiiiick vacation for the next few weeks, but we'll be back with another pod after the Champions League!
We have absolutely no idea who's going to get into the Champions League next season. Oh, also, we bring on another special guest to discuss the North London Derby.
As you can probably tell, this was not an easy episode to record. Barcelona are about to lose their La Liga crown...what a terrible year!
In Spain, there are three fundamental truths. 1) beautiful football is technically gifted football, 2) La Liga is the best league in the world and Messi is it's greatest ever player, and 3) the usage of VAR in the Mallorca vs Celta Vigo game was SHAMBOLIC. We go over all of the latest news from Spain and why Real Madrid are destined to be the best team in Spain for the next few years.
There's so much football to cover this past week that we almost couldn't decide where to start. But, then we realized we should probably talk about the Premier League this time around since...you know...there's an official champion there.
Now, the Premier League is back. It's almost like there's TOO much football to watch with La Liga, the Premier League, and Serie A coming back virtually every day between now and July. We go over the major topics to make your life a little easier.
We made it. FIFTY (50) episodes in less than a year. And La Liga is coming back this week? Finally, a sliver of good news.
The last few days and weeks have been rough for us, personally. But, one of the ways we've been able to get through them is with the power of tthe beautiful game. We have a lot to say this week both related and unrelated to European football.
The Bundesliga continues this weekend with the top teams in Germany all facing a tight battle for the Top 4 spots. Also, Rheon might have a crush on Kai Havertz.
The Bundesliga is back. Bayern is back. Dortmund is back. Leipzig is back. FOOTBALL IS BACK. That is all.
We don't know when all of our lives will go back to normal, but we DO know that at least one (!!!) European league will be returning to action next weekend. This week, we're giving an update on the rest of the European leagues with an interesting update from, yes, Belarus.
The title says it all. April 2013. Real Madrid traveled to Germany for the second time this Champions League campaign to take on Dortmund again. Dortmund, looking to have a foot in the Champions League final, put up a massive performance against Mourinho's side. We're joined by our friend Desmond to recap the game that put Robert Lewandowski in the fore front of everyone's mind.
This one is near and dear to us for obvious reasons. But, we remember this game VERY differently. Take a listen to what we had to say about the controversy surrounding this game at Stamford Bridge with another guest appearance from our friend Noah.
Set Scene: Brazil. Belgium. The 2018 World Cup Quarterfinal. Neymar vs Hazard. De Bruyne vs Coutinho. Thiago Silva vs Vincent Kompany. We talk about everything that went down during that game, including how this game shaped our view of the Belgian national team.
Episode 42: Premature Team of the Year (Spain) by Rheon Trim & Elyas Tecle
It's a crazy world we're living in. We're trying our best to keep things going, so here's our very premature TOY if the season IS actually over in England.
Let's take a look at the Top 7 race in Spain now especially since first place definitely IS up for grabs. We don't know who's going to be in the Champions League or Europa League next year from Spain, but listen in and you might be able to make an educated bet.
