Hello everyone and welcome back to the Oren Cohen podcast. This is day 22 of the 30 day challenge where I'm posting one podcast episode every day. If you remember from yesterday, we talked about using the remaining days of the challenge to build in public my course about sensitive interview podcasting. I'm calling the course the sensitive art of podcast interviewing. And in today's episode, I want to share the platform where I would host the course. And why I chose specifically that platform.

So let's get right into it. The platform I chose to host the course is ThriveCart and the reason I chose Thrivecart is first and foremost, because I have a lifetime license to it. I've purchased it sometime ago when I saw, that they had a sale. And I decided to grab it because I knew I would probably create a course at some point. So it was kind of a no brainer to be like, okay, I need a platform to use this platform is evolving. This platform has a lot of functionality.

I started messing around with it and I decided it could work. Good for me, because a lot of the lessons that I create. I create in loom. And loom is a good kind of tool to use. When you want to show things. And I think outside of talking and explaining things, I will probably be showing things in my courses, whether it's a tutorial to use a software or Some kind of strategy around a different website. It's always good to have a reliable software.

To actually record and show your screen and loom, in my opinion, just makes it very, very easy. So that's one reason why I chose Thrivecart because you can embed in a lesson a loom video. Just a quick word about all of the other popular platforms. Teachable Thinkific and also Gumroad. Those three are really good. For big courses with lots of students. And I'm not sure that my course is going to be a course with lots of students.

And I don't think it should have all the kind of enterprise functionality that comes with a teachable course. Thinkific is the same. They are two competing brands. And Gumroad is a platform that I love, I'm using it for my Python 30 day challenge. And it's been. Making me new subscribers almost every day since I published it. I don't want to event invest extra money into this course for now because I'm starting small I'm building it in public. I'll offer free access to it, to some people.

Putting it free while also needing to pay monthly to either of those platforms is not ideal for me because. The audience that are actually interacting with content. Content creation wise. It's pretty small. And I don't think it merits creating a course on such a platform that Will incur expenses on my part. When I actually don't have a lot of people to offer the course to. So that's one reason I'm not using. Both of those like, Thinkific and teachable. And also gum road.

With all the love in my heart for Gumroad Gumroad feels like more of a product kind of platform instead of a course platform. Thrive cart. Create a course for me, you can see the syllabus. You can see the lessons. It looks like a course page. And. To make it look like a course page on Gumroad. You have to make it look like a course page. while, it's just a canvas that you can make it your own.

That's where I do want to have that structure, because I want people to have that easy access, like okay. lesson one, lesson two, lesson three. I really want that for them. I want it to be easy. And to make it easy on Gumroad it will incur a lot of effort on my part, which is not related to actually making the lessons themselves. This is a lot of overhead work to make the course look the way I want it to look on Gumroad while Thrivecart just gives me. The course page. As is.

So for those reasons I chose Thrivecart. Creating the course page. Is the first step in this little build in public. Journey. So I think that's it for me today. Thank you so much for listening and watching. If you have any questions about content creation and you want to see more content around tutorials and stuff like that. Please check out my newsletter. You can find it in the description of the episode. If you have any questions, please comment below. And I'll see you in the next one.
