Of the Mass Singer premiere, Tonight's episode had not just one, but two un maskings and two brand new wild cards singing it out to become the ultimate Teachers. going on? Being? Wow? Two nights in the row. I'm excited. Blockbuster of them? You were white, you said as soon as the episode comes on with giving it to you that ye all excited. I loved it. We're gonna get into all of that. We had a double unmask in tonight, Mother Nation and also puffer Fish which was a little shocking to me. I told you, Nick said it was the biggest upset in mat singer history, the biggest upset

ever ever. Wow, I think you guys are gonna be upset that you decided to keep the wild guards over this before. So she really tricked us. That one of the best selling artists of all time over seventy million records worldwide, seven Grammys, including Best New Artists. Talking about it, Toni Braxton break my heart, I mean bad way. What do you think of that? I'm gonna tell you right now.

When I think about that heard her from form, I was like, Oh, this is low tone baritone conduct and Tony Braxton has we talked about this all the time on the show, having a unique sound and a voice that's unlike any other. She has that thing. But I forgot Tony can go deep with her voice, and she shocked me. But I had a feel in the first time I heard her, I was like, Oh, this could be Tony Braxton. Could she be disguising her voice? She is,

That's why we're so perturbed. But before we get into all of that, which we will unravel everything if you don't want to hear was coming up because it's about to be a lot of spoiling learns. Wow, okay you were two for two like that, this seven tom Grammy Award. You

know this is the frog. Now, this is the fall. Okay, you know I know my stuff right yes. Now when we get to Bull and everybody, you might have the upper hand on me. I'm still trying to figure that out. I'm not gonna lie. I went with Tony Braxton all the way. The voice is too recognizable. She just has one of those iconic voices that when you hear it, you know it. It's kind of similar to a Snoop

DOGG right. If you watch Snoop Dogg do a voice over for a cartoon character, you just know it on its Snoop, It's like the same effect with Tony Braxton. She has that yeah that you know what I mean. She has that nice baritone voice that's just so electrifying and just a sweet, sweet, sweet sound, and I just knew it threw me off when the rapping part came. I was a bit thrown off because I couldn't hear her vocals that much, and I don't know who it is,

very confused. That's what I think threw everybody off. That's why nobody thought of her. And that's how you know she's a real singer because she can control the tone of her voice. I mean, she went low. She really was like this with the rep. Dude, but dude, I'm like people, and that's what is going on. You know.

It's so funny too, because in the premiere behind the scenes and was so focused on the Boomerang clue, and he mentioned the movie Boomerang and he mentioned Robin Givens, But it was really because Tony Braxton was on the Boomerang soundtrack. That was the first big love going to bring your home. Remember that song, but they never connected the dots there. That was a special one right there, and I hate to see her go big set up

to Tony Braxton. Man, you just never know who's gonna just pop up throwing a costume at the stage and do what they do best. And everyone's having fun, Brian, That's the thing when they come and do the show, everyone's having a great time. And like I said, you're gonna win something. You told me I would enjoyed the baby Costa. I definitely enjoyed the baby Costa. Daddy got you, Daddy got you. Oh my gosh, Dick, I don't know what's happening. You are the sweetest, cutest, little scariest thing.

Who's your best baby? Who's your biggest And let me say this with a voice like that is far from a baby. This is a grown big bag is You're right about that? And also the hamster, which I thought was hilarious. I love the whole running around the track and the will you know I was thinking to like the then diesels of the that's true. Another history making moment. First time we've had a singer dropping that bomb. He's a live wire. He came out with some manager. I

enjoyed those two performances. To take it off, Buzzer. We've seen it tonight, and it's one of those things that your grandmother tells you. You can go on the kitchen, but don't touch the stove, baby, You know when grandmother goes, go in there, baby, but just don't touch the stove his hat. If you touch it, you're gonna get burned. Well, what does Kim do, Brian? Can you telling everybody what Kim does? Touches the oven, touches it, and the whole set just turns fire. And I actually thought he was

gonna get somebody right then and there. But I will say this, they can only use it once per group, and they do use it once per group, so it is used twice this season. I'm not gonna say anything else except that it's insane and the crowd goes, no, oh my gosh, oh my god, Oh yeah, don't touch it. I want time. I'm just looking at I'm sorry, I got excited. You're like one of those chance you just can't can't help. But have you met me? Of course I'm gonna do that. And I like the whole theme

of tonight back to school. The whole take us back to school thing. I really love that with group, open up the lockers, more clues, get us closer to the talent. This season is the first time we have themed episodes, so there's a lot of fun stuff coming out. I can't wait. Well, let's go ahead and dive into something that we both love to do, clues and performances. Let's go ahead and talk about it, Hamster, what did you this be? On me? Saying? Pretty woman? Way Orbison. The

clues were a goldfish, it was Alcatraz Islands. There was the locker clue was a baseball bat, and that got Can, which, by the way, I'm gonna give some names that were not mentioned in the episode because they threw out so many names we couldn't include them all. But the baseball bat lad Can at one point to Tom Hanks from League of their Own, which Nick at a field day with because he's like, you really think this is Tom Hanks. But he also mentioned John Lovett, which was a good guest.

Some of the guess is that the panel are said where Danny DeVito based on its sunny Yeah, but Danny DeVito, he's so short. There was the fish, so she thought of Albert Brooks from Finding Nemo because I mentioned Tim Allen, Kelsey Grammer, Andy richter Ken mentioned Bill Murray and Brendan Fraser and Nicole Guest and this got the biggest ovation in the entire episode. Jack Black, did you like that? I did like the Jack Black one. I like the Bill Murray. It has to be someone that's funny and

it's just wild. And if you've seen the movie School the Rock, I mean you talk about wild. Absolutely, that's Jack Black all day long. You know what this is. You gotta write your first impression. Guys, get my mask pen and don't love Brian. Okay, I'm not looking. I'm not looking on the side of the mixing board. Please write this, dumb Max. Sure Brian is done looking over boom. Okay,

right there, that's my first impression. Let's move on al because I can smell this next performer, Skunk, of course, one of the flying skunks we will ever see. One of the best vocal performances I've ever witnessed in my life. It's a man's man's man's world. And let me tell you, I was not expecting this song. I cannot wait to speak to Skunk when the time happens. I've never heard a woman sing that song. Robin Gone On under the Desk Nick said it was one of the best performances

he's ever seen. It blew everybody away. But as the consummate performer that you are, where you blown away by that? I was That was the funk, the stink the skunk does. We talk about voices, we talk about these celebrities with these unique sounds. Right, I have a clue already who this person possibly can be. And I've never heard this artist sing like this in this pitch. I know she

can do it. She is a deep for sure, but the way she carried it, man, just to here a woman with strong vocals sing such a strong record was just beautiful to me. You see me right now, I'm on the edge of my seat. Who are you thinking? Let me go ahead and just say the name, Brian, say name. But I think, okay, alright, as I'm sitting here with my mask not ledging the things that I've gathered up, I believe that skunk is none other than Faith Evans. And the reason I say this it's because

of the voice. It's no different than Tony Braxton. Faith has this whispery singing voice. If I had a million dollars of casting right in the studio, I would bet a million Ill was cast at this Okay, Robin mentioned her on the premiere. It's a good guess you're checking into the heartbreak Pichel with that guess there some of the other people that they said tonight can mentioned Lauren Hill because of the miseducation clue right, Robin gets you,

Lana Adams, Jill Scott, Fantasia. Nicole thought Janelle Muna because there was a School of Acting book and of course she was in ind figures. There was an iron Your Swing book, which maybe somebody from Iron Man, I don't know. Maybe there are Tiger Woods fan but the big Book of Acting makes us think maybe it could be an actress. So we're all over the place. That one threw me off just saying the name where I thought it wasn't in here and all the acting stuff. Yeah, I don't

think she has. Nicole also, it didn't make the episode. She mentioned Sydney Rivo, who was a great actress and you can sing. I like the fantastic comparison because she does have that raspy kind of low voice. Sucking go kind of hot. Her voice is very very strong, so I can kind of see where the Fantasia and maybe the Louing here, I can see where that comparison is coming from. Well, I think she's gonna be around a while, I hope. So alright, moving along is my favorite as

a right now. Bull also came out here and crushed this. That performance was so raw and emotional. I just honestly you touched our hearts. Yeah. Bull is one of those mast singers that I'm just not worried about. But if I missed an episode and I know Bull was on, I'm never gonna ask a friend the Bull. I know how Bull? Okay Bull, that's not Bull crapping around. I

can tell you that Sol good choice tonight. What hurts the most, Brian take it away because I can talk about Bull all day to them all over the place. With this one, there was a Cheerleaders that came out of the locker, which led Ken to Darren Chris because of Lee, but then there was a Walt Disney Hall in the clues, so that brought them to a lot

of Disney stars. Can also mentioned Justin Timberlake, who famously got his start on Mickey Mouse, Jenny mentioned Kevin Jonas, which of course he got his start on Disney, and also Zac Efron from High School Musical, and then Robin came out of nowhere with Brandon Flowers and Rufus Waynewright, so we're everywhere. Bull is tough for me. I don't think I'm ever gonna get him. You shot even asked for a pen and paper and answer for me when it comes to Bull, I have no I did, and

I feel like I've heard this voice. It's just not sticking in my brains. Every season there's the one performan that's gonna have you puzzle, or maybe two or three. But in this case, Bull has me stomped. I will admit that. Like two seasons ago we had Allow Black and he really threw everybody, and I feel like this season he's our Black. Yeah, you got from you got me. And then of course let's talk about babies. Oh my god, oh man, what in the the outfit one of my

favorites comes out. I'm laughing. I'm thinking, you know, I'm gonna hear it, maybe a little squeaky nice boys and it's like whoa, which like this is a chrome baby surprisingly, you have a really great voice. That's not nice, Nicole, to say about a child has never been said. He's that blockbuster hits award winning albums radio played was Pacified, White House, Police Bad. Brian, can you please help us get closer to the clue that really stood out and we really need to focus on, is that he once

replaced Arnold Schwartzenegger in a movie. That is the thing that the panel was stuck on throughout the season, which is why they're getting all these action stars. Him brought up Will Smith and Hugh Jackman. Jenny mentioned then Diesel because the Pacifier, he was in the Pacifier. Robin thought Chuck Norris because at the Texas Ranger. Nicole mentioned a bunch of people that didn't even make the added if you mentioned Gerard Butler, Jason Statham. We're all over the place,

but they're getting definite action star Bran. This season is hard, Bron. It's hard because you know what you gotta do right now. No, I gotta go ahead and gave my first impression. I know, man, what is going on this season with the frog Man. I'm looking like kid right now, the old kid. This is not good. This is like season two Kid oh Man, no doubt, no doubt. I know Kid's gonna text me. I know he's gonna crack all kind of jokes to me. Okay, here we go. I just wrote it down. There is

I'm not gonna talk about it. I know I'm probably far off, but it's my guest for Fish. Let's go ahead break this down, Brian, for all the people listening, let's go ahead dive into it. There was a cardinal clue. We thought of a bird. That's why Jenny's final guest was I'm like a bird. Nelly for Tato Robin guest Jessica albug In ken guest Nick's host star from Drumline, Zoe Saldana and Nicole thought it was Monica. They were all wrong because it was Tony Braxton, my fellow lupus

warrior up here. She did every performance with her mask on. That's why the sound was so different. Yeah, I've been in the house the whole pandemic and I've seen him do something fun, but I had to be even extra cautious and do with the mask underneath the mask, A mask on a mask. Honestly, you're so brave for coming here, and we're so grateful, Thank you. It was seven time Grammy Award winning Tony on the second episode revealed unbelievable crazy.

That just shows you how unpredictable this season is very unpredictable. Tony is not the only legend has gone out very early. We've seen Little Wing go out on opening night. Yeah, Busta rhymes, when bust of rhymes? When I opening that it happened, I mean, this is how crazy the show is. Grown surpassed Pattie LaBelle in the singing competition. He really did it. Didn't want a super Bowl ring right after you left us. This is amazing what happens when you

come to Mass Singing. You're gonna win something. I can say that you're gonna win something this season. We are inviting you the Mass Singer universe to be a part of the podcast. We love the show so much. My friends and I actually do our own kind of fantasy football type thing with the show down all the clues and our guesses, and it gets pretty intense here. You have a couple of questions for us. You were amazing on your season. Seriously, you were my favorite for sure, and you have I've raised the bar for every season after. So my question is do you ever have accidents with singers in costume, like running into stuff, for falling down or anything. You know,

my season, I didn't see anybody slip fall. And just so you know, to Melody, these costumes we can see out of them too as well. Right, so the neck of a costume really might be like where my eyes are, and there's like these little mesh holes so we we can see. And all costumes are different. Right. There's been some celebrities that has come on the show and said it was tough for me to see. So let me take that back me, back tack. I'm trying to make

it out because some it's hard for me. I was blessed. I know. The prom mask was so easy, and that's why I picked. When you pick your costume, you have to understand that it's bigger than the look of it. You have to feel comfortable in it. Seeing out of the mask. It's very important. You don't want to trip on the speaker because it can happen. It's dark inside of the studio when you're performing. Do you guys get to pick out who you want to be? You guys

get to choose. How the process worked for me, I guess I can speak with me and Brian you can also chime me on this too. Is you know? Once I knew I was doing the show, they sent over some of ideas. It was all about picking the character that just registered to me. The first thing was comfortability, and the first thing that came to mind was I wanted to be the astronaut and as far from being comfortable. Once I saw that suit real life, I said, I'm

so glad I told to be the problem. I'm so glad because I had this whole thing like I'm gonna moonwalk and the Astronauts suit. No one ever moon walked in the This is gonna be crazy, And for me it was the Frog. I felt like it brought out more of my personality. I felt like I could connect with the kids, the younger audience, the young mass singer fans out there would just gravitate to him. I just fell in love with Frog and now I'm frog Fever.

That's too interesting. I didn't know that to you originally going to be the astronaut, which ended up being Hunter Hayes. Correct, Wow, I did not know that, Brian. I was sitting in my house with my manager and I said, oh, this is I don't want to see nothing else. I want to be the all Gold astronaut. That's I'm gonna move up All Fox. No one's ever done it. And I saw the costle in Middle Life and I was like, well, that's interesting too, because that's how smart of a performer

bow Wow is. Because he is the ultimate triple thread. He's gonna be able to dance, he's got to be able to move. He's the entertainer. So that made sense. You chose right. It's like so entertaining to watch you. I'll give you a little scoop here. I think our final four is the strongest final four we've ever had since season three, since the bow Wow season. The person who goes home fourth would have possibly one in any

other season. Really, the competition is still I don't you want to note right now, Melanie, I don't you want to know? I do want to know. I want to like here little clips right now and guess for myself, but you gotta wait till December. We have to wait.
