There on the world you play to win the gates a Jet touchdown. You're listening to the Official Jets podcast Jets three sixty Production Gredients, Jets Nation. Eric Gallen here at Jets Upfront in the Toyota Club as that live stadium, joined alongside our executive producer with the New York Jets, Chris Gargano. That's we're starting with you today. Let's talk about a rebranded podcasts here and the Jets Official Podcast network. What can people expect coming up in two thousand seventeen.
You know, it's great, Eric, I'm glad you brought that up, because we do have a foundation from last year which you started, you know, yourself and Bart Scott and Ethan Greenberg, Chad Pennington and some of the folks that were on
last year. That foundation is dove tailing perfectly into what we're doing this year, which is two point oh so on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays will have different versions of the Official Jets Podcast, of which you will be part of and yourself and Bart Scott from our Monday Night Radio inside the Jet Vanderbilt at Vanderbilt Jersey right across the street from the complexes that's right. So in a unique situation, fans will be able to see a podcast
in a radio show simultaneously taped live. And the chemistry that you have with former Jet and legend Bart Scott is unbelievable. And I think that you bring out those those powerful anecdotes each and every week because he was such a prominent player in the NFL. In the way that he communicates with you in the fan base, he's a unique talent. We love having a part of it.
Then on Wednesdays will do off the field lifestyle with yourself and our two reporters, Olivia and Ethan, and you know, we'll talk to celebrities and fans and and then on Friday you'll gear it up and preview the game that week. Okay, so Jets three sixty, Yes, you talked about putting all the Jets content under one umbrella. To a fan, what can they come to expect from Jets three sixty boss, You know what, Thanks Eric, and the way you tee that up is perfect. It's a standard. It's the it's
a kind of a quality. We will not put anything out there that isn't great, meaning that we have a commitment to telling great stories. Right. We have a commitment to telling to provide an eight second video on social to thirty seconds to forty five minutes in a documentary. All of it is going to be a commitment to the fan base and telling these great stories. So that's
what three sixty is. We just really have a commitment by a talented group of people to make the Jets showcase the fans, the players, the administrators to this great fan base. It's a commitment. Eric, speaking of commitment, Chris Pierce, Senior director of Fan Commerce for the New York Jets, What's new at the stadium this year? What's new at
the stadium? Of new things here the stadium. So food wise, you know, every year we take a look at, you know what worked, where we have an area that we can possibly improve and and you know a few things we really focus on. One is this fat roost chicken sandwich. So you take a chicken brass, we brine it in buttermilk and hot sauce for twenty four hours that it gets dredged in a spice mix and then it's a King's Wine roll, honey a really spread on both sides,
House Brian pickles and then apple cider slaw. It's it's it's a terrific, terrific sandwich. Great problem. Where can I get it? In the stadium for opening day you'll see the section three seventeen. You'll also see it in the Toriota Club. You also see it in a Touchdown club. How about four folks looking for some maybe healthy options. So, so where would you go, fair point errant. He can get sushi burrito, so fish veggies in a rice paper wrap,
very very healthy option. In addition, you can also get poke bowls, so tuna or salmon is your bass. And then you get to work with the chef and pick the amount of ingredients you want, the sauce you want. You want a little more scallion, you want a little more sesame seed. You can do it up your way.
Where they finding those so those are being Toyota and Touchdown Club as well as the sushi locations out in the g a population, we spend so much time and energy putting farm and and really ultimately love into the food program that we want people when they get that item to say, wow, this is fantastic. What about jet shop? What's going on? A jet shop? Jet so one of the new things that people are going to see it is on field. The players have adopted Nike Vapor uniform construction.
We had a lot of people notice this inverted you down below the player's numbers. Well, that was actually there were those were seams. It always looked like people had this a sweat ring if you will. Well, it's been eliminated now because the seams on the jersey were moved to the back, so the seams don't touch the player's body. That's more comfortable. The fabric has also got some perfect ventilation holes strategically placed through the jersey and the pants.
NFL shield on the jersey and pants is now chromed and the uniform system winds up being lighter. So you're well stocked with these jerseys down. Oh yeah, well stocked, well stocked. So that's called the Nike Elite Vapor jersey. In addition, on the new Er side, lots and lots of great hacks. For those fans who've come out to training camp, are been watching into the coverage of training camp green and White, you've seen some of the really
cool hats. Newer has done a great job of expanding the hatline, a lot of performance fabrications, different fits, whether He's a snap back guy. Little alone fact for the fans out there. Guards is a flex fit kind of guy. Olivia is a fifty fifty kind of gal Ethan. He's a kind of guy you know who. He's got great hacking Todd bulls and and people watch him and sometimes they're asking me, how can to get that head? So, so does Todd come to you guys as far as hey,
I want to switch up the hats this year? How does that all work? Todd is very passionate about his hat. Todd works extremely closely with the equipment department. Shout out to Veto for Todd Bowls. Shout out to Gus Jim and Andrew Squeaks. Isn't call him um, you know, but those guys do a great job. So so when Coach Bowles decides on the hat he really feels passionate about. Then that's something from a retail perspective we we jump
on because the fans want those hats. Thursday Night this year, the Jets will host the Buffalo Bills, the third consecutive ear where the Jets and the Bills play a night game Thursday Night game and uh for the second time in three years, will this be the color rush game for the Jets at home in prime time. Yes, in fact we will. So last year we played up in Buffalo, we wore white head to toe um and this year, now that we're the home team, we will wear the
color USh green uniform. So the green jersey, green pants, green socks, green gloves, all in that kelly green, if you will. The changes to the helmet will be made again where the stickers details will be the chrome green and the face mask that chrome green. It's like we took our green, our current green on Thursday night, we plugged it in, electrified it, and you get this under the lights, you get this, this bright kelly green, which
is a historical color for us. That certainly is that is the Jets Senior director of Fan Covers Chris Pierce, and as Olivia Landis walks by. Let's talk about our new Jets reporter a little bit about her background. Olivia is brand new to the New York Jets. It's been two weeks. She comes from Fort Collins, Colorado, where she grew up, and she brings unique talents. She really can report on hardcore football as well as take you off
the field with the players. So We're gonna take a three sixty approach to her coverage and how she you know, goes about her job each and every day, and she can go live. She's got live with you and Ethan. I think that our Facebook lives are jets three sixty live shows that are off to a great start, largely because of the chemistry that you guys have developed. She's going to be a welcome addition to our content. Yeah, how about Green's He's been here now and I think
fans are starting to recognize him a little bit. One area where we've started to see him more of people consuming our content is in front of the cameras. Yes, and I call you know, Ethan is an old soul. He he really is. Eric if we you know, we talked to him about this, it's like he's a young man out of Syracuse and he the way he comports himself and the way he delivers information about football in any way, shape or form, is that of a person
much more experience. Let's just say so, we're so fortunate to have him. His ability to write, his ability to go on the air, and he's just a he's a great young man. And that their commitments behind the scenes. How hard these two work, how hard you work? There's really a great work. The Concion, our senior vice president of marketing and fan engagement set for been Within, has just come to our podcast table. We are bringing in the desserts the podcast right in your your clean living lifestyle.
You've never had a dessert earlier than eight pm. That's probably true. You already had a sugar for the month, and that's only the fifteen you know, while you eat that nice presentation here today at Jets up Front in the Toyota Club Bank, here at met Life Stadium, A few things that jumped out at me during your presentation. The Jets fan a Hall of Fame? What is that all about? Can fans expect in two thousand seventeen? Look, every Jets fan probably should be in the Hall of Fame.
I mean the passion, the loyalty, the energy they bring. But we felt it was high time to really do some formal recognition. So just like the Pro Football Hall of Fame has a class every year that goes in starting this year, so too will Jets fans. Simple nomination process basically an original photo and written statement like a hundred and fifty words why you if you're nominating yourself
for somebody else you know, merit this recognition. And then we will have a selection process where we'll take all of the submissions and which will be evaluated by what we're calling a blue ribbon panel, which will include some Jets legends, some longtime Jets staffers who know what it means to bleed green uh, and then ultimately will deliver to the fan base as a whole ten semifinals and the fan vote will determine which three will form the inaugural Jets Fan Hall of Fame class and well will
that first class uh. They will be inducted at our final home game December, and then thereafter their photos will be permanently affixed here at Matlife Stadium and back at our training center. They'll also get like a cool varsity jacket,
which I like the varsity jack. If you want to nominate somebody or you want to nominate yourself, you have to go to our website New York Jets dot com slash Fan Hall of Fame uh, and there's a form of a lot of simple form name address, email address, upload your photo, hundred fifty words stick and um, we'll make the selections in October and uh late October, I think, and I would basically have like the month of November December to get all the logistics arrange and then as
I said, December, our final handgear. Now, something that fans have to be ready for in two thousand seventeen is the Jets App Yes with a gain day emphasis. So everybody knows that you can use Apple Map, School, the maps whatever to get yourself to and from the stadium, but not every place has indoor maps where once you're in a building as big as this two million square feet, you still need to know your way around. Yeah, you can get lost. You can get lost. I still get lost.
Not anymore, because now we're gonna have highly detailed indoor maps, so you'll get an accurate beat on your position and the map is accurate enough to know Section one away Global Pies, that's where it is. You know what I'm pumped above cards Urn Official intelligence coming to Mentlife Stadium, and that name is Joan. Folks get to know Joan because if you have any questions, you know what You're gonna talk to human being anymore. That's right. Joan is,
as you said, an artificial intelligence chat about service. So it works just like if you were exchanging text with a friend of yours. You asked Joan a question. Joan has answers to all of the most frequently asked questions. But here's the closest bathroom, way bathrooms, craft beer, apple? Yes, uh? If I need a family rest room, if you bring your young kids with you, where's the family restroom? Guest services? Where can I get chicken tenders? What's your policy on
bringing in umbrellas? You know all of these questions Joan can answer, and so it's really designed for the stadium. But if you have a question before you come, you can ask Joanes. She'll still know that what time the gates open, what time to parking lots open, those kinds of questions. I'm pumped him. Yeah, that's gonna be pretty cool. Why is it so important for Jets Rewards members to
have that app? Because that's something you mentioned. So because you can basically now from your mobile device, manage your entire Jets Rewards account instantly. You'll see your points coming in instantly, you could manage you could redeem points on site if you want. You can manage your Jets Cash or if you want to reload jets cash or just
check your balance, all done instantly, real time. In the app, you want push notifications because we talked today about a new season ticket holder benefit half price hot dogs and sodas perceson ticket holders. We will remind season ticket holders of that using push notifications in the app, because that's not something you want to forget. So if you have
the app, you will get those push notifications. I don't know about you tell me, but I got a little bit excited to what I heard about Next Generation Stats. As far as you know, people consume games differently, but now something that's going to be added to our presentation this year is just in hand. That's uh, can you
go into that a little bit stuff? Sure, So a couple of years ago the league started this next Stats initiative, and what they do is they put a little radio transmitters underneath the shoulder pads on every player, and then there's an array of antennas around the field in every stadium, and so basically the position of every player is being
broadcast like thirty times a second. And from that you can use computing power to track all sorts of stuff that QB distributions charts running back speed east west versus north south, uh, time to sack, time to release for a quarterback, total distance the ball travels in the air, on the ground, et cetera. We had to build some systems on our part to ingest that data in real time and process it so that we could render it on pilot vision in a way that fans could understand.
And that's what we've done Togo, and that kind of stuff I think is gonna be very eye opening for football fans. It's not stuff we've known before. It's a whole it's next generation statistics, and in some ways I can envision five years from now, just yards is not gonna be that interesting to me. Right, I'm gonna want to know way more than I don't think. Okay, seventy three yards great? How fast was he running? That's what I want to know, right? How far side to side
did you go to get open? So I think it's really is a whole new kind of category of stats and wate to understand again. You know, you know when you consume that mutlised day, no doubt. If I could have one message to the fan base, you gotta have the Jets app and You've got to use it whether you're here, definitely, what even if you're at home, or you're at a bar or friend's house. Whatever, you gotta
have the Jets app on Jet Sundays. It's a free download obviously App Store for iPhones, Google Play for Android phones, and the new release coming out in early September. So download it today because it will auto update on Iowa. I love it. You'll have the latest and greatest as soon as it's ready. Thank you so much, Thanks for having me bad. We should do this more often. We enjoyed it. Chris Gargano, Rick Allen here at Jets up
Front and the toy Arty Club at Motlife Stadium. A lot of medium members are coming out today, uh to see what is new with the New York Jets. In two thousand seventeen, Uh, Chris, we had a couple of Jets legends in the house. Part Scott here as well. Part is gonna be a big part of our content. Movie four. You're gonna see him a Jets flight plan
Sunday Mornings, CBS. But a new addition this year, a new component to Bart being part of our content is Monday Nights Vanderbilt traditionally typically during the season is gonna be seven o'clock starts on ESPN Radio, also going to be streamed on New York Jets dot Com on Facebook Live, and then Jack's gonna make that baby availbow and podcast format guards let's get back to Jets three sixty My Jet Life, that's gonna be a component to Jet Life. Yes,
eleven thirties Saturday nights, CBS. What is my Jet Life? Our players have great stories. Human beings have great stories. If we did a My Jet Life on you or Jack or all the wonderful people here in the Toyota Club at MetLife Stadium, we would unveil some great little nuggets about each and every person. Well, professional football players with their unique talents and some of them with unique backgrounds. Those stories need to be told. And the reason is
because we're just like the next gen stats. That's a different layer, an additional layer to watching and consuming NFL football. So when you look at Robbie Anderson and he's on the field and he runs a nice out pattern and Christian or um Josh hits him on or Bryce hit him on a nice out right boom, number eleven goes in the stats goes back to the huddle. What we want you to do with three sixty is tell a great story about each one of those players. So you're saying, oh,
that's my guy who made that catch. I like him because he dealt with adversity as a twelve year old, similar to what I did as a fourteen year old. And the Jets three sixty group told that story, So now I am emotional connected to that individual. That's our goal. Our executive producer here at the New York Jets, Chris Gargano at media up front. Yes, the mad backer Bart Scott hands Gray stuff with his presence and uh, you're getting after a little chicken sandwich over there. Not just
a chicken sound, I mean a spicy chicken sound. Is it really spicy? It's hot. It's not like the one where you have to sign the deaf waiver. You know, it's not that one, but it is pretty up. I felt like buffalo hot sauce on pretty much. That's not hot. Now, Bart, are you eating that at a slow pace because you're on the podcast or or are you taking your time? Or is that item number eight? Well, I'm doing a
drive by. I'm just eating walking and then you'll I call, come on, man, he in a in a in a in a side mirror and I had to stop by and say, what's up that I didn't like this part of your post career that you're up here at Jets up front talking about some media opportunities because you're participating and all this again with ust In two thousand seven the team, we're very fortunate to have you. But what did you used to eat on game days? What was a bart Scott eating them when you were a player,
And it was it was pretty simple. It was either some type of pasta, some carb loading or if it was really early, I can get an omelet. You know, guys are really strategic about how they how they load and prepare. They want to get some fruit there and try and get a sugar rush. And you hope that at time's up right where you get the benefits from
what you can eat. You know, you want to make sure if you eat too early, then you're hungry while you're playing because the game is long, and you want to make sure you know, did you eat there in the game? Ever? Everyone everyone every once in a while half there, well, you know, halftime, I always ate fruit. You know going back to college. That's what got me suspending, the kicked off the team. You know, my fruitful beginnings,
you know that whole store. But yeah, I had to try and put something in the system at halftime because I'm not a huge eater, and you you don't want to be out there and feel heavy and and it's weird. You know. The toughest time to ever do that was when you have the four o'clock games, because what happens is you eat early and then you trying to do Yeah, you're trying to figure out what time to eat around one or two, what time to eat, and if you eat wrong, you either hungry you know, in the game
because game go all the way to eight o'clock. So you're so you're hungry, and you only ate once one time to day. So it's important that you get up really early and eat and start getting getting your ma titlism and get your sister and going because you're way too late you eat, say like at eleven. You're not gonna be hungry at once, so you're not gonna eat
a lot. So then we get in the game, you're hungry, and now that's when you see guys eating the bars and trying to drink the jams and the juices and and all that stuff to try and get a spike and energy and get that that that blood, that that sugar rush. That is a part Scott at Jets up Front. He'll be on Jets Play Plants Sunday morning. We're gonna were gonna take We're gonna take it up a level. Then the new component this year is you'll be co hosting Inside the Jets with me at vander Belts Live.
They get, they sacon met all the Chicken Wings. I want the Mad Backer seven pm Monday nights. You're excited for that one. I'm excited. I get. I love the radio. You're on the radio a lot. I can talk to that talk man. We got have some fun. Stay tuned all seasons to the Official Jets Podcast because we're gonna have weekly shows for you. This is just the start. Each and every week we're we're talking celebrities and we're gonna do some previews to get you ready for every
