Do you have an update on Devin Smith? Yeah, if he has an a c L tear and we're probably gonna put him in a hour. Do you know when he's scheduled for surgery? Not yet? No, Todd? How how tough is that when you know Devin's by guys been trying to trying to figure it out all year and and then he goes through and has a you know, a really rough injury like that. I mean, it's a tough break for me. I'm along. He was starting to play faster and he's getting this find this place within

the offense. But he's a young guy, so hopefully we can get it done. He can come back strong and next year. Todd, what did you, um, I guess if you can maybe expand on that a little bit, what did you see in particular something in terms of progress lately? I know you would express hope mid year that once he got past that rib deal that he would be all right, uh and started allop What did you particular scene from lately? He's grasping everything mentally, and he was

playing faster. And when you learn more and you get the mental part of it down, your game starts to play faster. And they started playing faster from a route standpoint, from a block and standpoint, from a recognition standpoint. And and it's unfortunate that this happened because he was coming around. He was really gonna helpless And what Jeremy Curly left

with a calf injury. What's the latest. He's got a calf conclusion right now and we're just treating it and we'll see how he's towards the end of the week. Do you have to make any contingency He's taught obviously you you lose Devon and Jeremy's up in the air, so your wide receiver depth is is thinner than it had been. What sort of contingencies are you considering? But we got Tompkins and depending on how Curly comes along, we're looking around with we may or may not do

something with that spot. Tom What was your message to the team last night, Oh, no, different than the last couple of weeks. Just keep doing what we're doing and getting better and take it one game at a time and try to win out in December. It tough that you know, you guys are eight and five and you're obviously playing really well by you know, sort of remarkably, You guys don't control your own destiny at this point.

I mean, that's what we were dealt in the bed we made ourselves, and we understand that we're just going to continue to get better as a team and just take it one game at a time. We're not gonna worry about what happens at the end. If we take it one game at a time, we'll be okay. God, one of the what are the challenges of a short week like this? So you guys are going through this year with the short weeks, bro, we just gotta make sure we prepare as an extra day is not normally

a Thursday game, it's actually a Saturday games. Know, we do get a little time to prepare for it, and we just got to make sure they take care of their bodies and we understand mentally what we're walking into and just be ready to play. You think mentally what you walk into, what the atmosphere there, or just mentally what we're walking into as far as what we have to do to do our jobs. Not so much of the atmosphere there, but getting our mental approach down on

our mental game down. Talk there any other injuries out of the game, yesterday. No, there wasn't. You were what I reach Y Todd? You were using a Damario Davis. It looked like a little bit different. He was on the line as a pass rusher. How do you what was the thought behind that? How do you think he did in that role? Well? I did a good job. Remember we had some different looks we were doing and just trying to confuse the quarterback and line up a

little differently. So that was his role right there, and using three linebackers, and that was the package we had in that week. So I thought he did a good job. What's gonna keep for you guys against the run last few weeks? The guys up front really play well and they take pride and you know, they take a lot of pride and run games. So we really try to make people undimensional and if we can do a good job at that and I give up many big players,

we'll give ourselves a chance to win. Is this the kind of year you expected for Mo Wokerson or has he exceeded even your expectations. I knew he was a great player, was having a good year. Like I said, I don't think the season gets counted on a bunk sacks. I mean, the facts help out a lot, but I knew he was a great player. I expected him to play like this, you know, not knowing him or having coached him, you kind of get a feel as you go along. But we knew More was capable of doing

these type of things. Well, you learned about him TODs along the way for me as far as being a great guy and a diligent worker. You know, he comes to work every day, he understands game situations. He's been the leader for us over there on defense, and he comes out to play whenever the player to be made, you know, somehow most steps up and makes it. Todd decides the sax, and he alluded to kind of being more than that. Well, you kind of appreciate about his game.

Can you kind of give us an idea how he affects the game from a standpoint that it is not maybe as obvious or how often was to you know, scheme to count for him? He commands two blockers, number one, He can block them with the tight end. He holds up the tight ends when he's at end. But he's big enough the two gaps in there at tackle. But he's got very nimble feat so he has all ingredients and the tangibles of being a great player, and he understands what they're trying to do to him. He's he's

very smart. He figures the game out and he helps to got along the line with him. Sometimes the fans and media get caught up in the Pro Bowl voting process more than you know coaches do. But Mose had a couple of close calls. He'd never made it. Um, do you think he's deserving this year? No? I don't know. I don't get the vote. I mean, I'm glad to have him. I think he's one of the best players. So whatever they vote when they vote on you know, as long as he helps us playing games, I'm happy Todd.

Mike Mularkey said after the game on the Marshall touchdown that their headsets went out before that play? Were you aware of that? Did your headsets go out at that moment? I wasn't aware of that. And how if this didn't going on? Is that? Can you can you see how tough that you know? Is that? Um, you know, coaching on the defensive side, is that a really difficult thing to deal with in that moment? And you think that explains kind of the their breakdown on that play. I

don't know. I think it's different for everybody there. But you want to communication and you want to headsets work, Tom, what are your thought really thoughts on dead Bryant? Great player, size, speeds, hands, tenacity for out runner. You know he's got the full packs. Every week we're gonna it's a great receivers. He's one of these, He's the next one up. But I know you always say, you know, take you one game at a time, But are you you know, do you at

this point it's really coming out of wire. Are you rooting against certain teams? Uh? You know each week at this point, No, I'm just rooting for our team right now. Everything else will take care of itself. You don't going to the We don't go into the season rooting for a certain team, So I'm not going to end the season rooting for a certain team. I'm just gonna root for us and hope we do well.
