And Dan, what what stands out to you when you look at the Jets on film right now? Uh, I'd see a team that's physical. Um, you know they defense, They're they're strong up front, they got guys in the secondary they can cover. I think offensively, Um, they still have the ability to run it. You can't ever lose sight of that. And I know they're going going a little more spread out formations at times, but they still have Marshall and Decker and and I've been around here.

You know, this is my sixth year and Fitzpatrick has always been a thorn to us. I mean he's always played good against us and been a problem to deal with. So you know, we know we got our hands full. I would say the first thing that stands out is it's a physical team. How different do they look through the team you saw in London? Um, I would say they as far as being physical, they looked at say, to me, just offensively, it looks like they've they've done

a little bit more spread out type stuff. That would be the biggest difference, to be honest with you. And you know, I need to make sure that I get this across Todd Bowls. Um, I have a ton of respect for and you know, I was here when he was interim head coach and I know what he's about and he's as good as they come. And then Casey Rodgers was with a long time, and I think those

guys as coaches are as good as they come. And I know, you know, we got our hands full of this mentality and the way those guys play and the system and everything. On the flip side of that, how do you feel you your team is different from that London game. I feel like we're more physical, you know. I feel like we're a team that kind of identified that we need to come off the all a little bit better. We need to we need to have a presence about us. Um. You know, we need to change

I think the way that we're viewed. And to me, we are more aggressive than we were the first time they played us, and for the most part we've been able to stay in games. I mean, that game got out of control on us and we end up being one dimensional. Last time we played him, which was Kudo's them, they put us in that situation. How how's Ryan Tannehill playing right now? Dan, He's playing well. I mean, you know, he had he had a couple of bumps in the road or the last you know, four or five weeks.

But all in all, if you look at his production since um, since I took over, since this everything's happened, he's played pretty good football for us. You know, certainly he's like anybody else, he's not perfect by any means, but but he's playing good enough for us to win overall. With you demanding you guys be more physical and everything, do you sometimes think maybe you lean too much on the passing game and you want to get back to just pounding the ball a little more? Uh, you know,

always those things always cross my mind. Is you know we're running it enough? Are we not the way that we're running it? You know, should we lean a little bit more on this schematically in the run game or not? I mean, you know, every game creates its own unique, um, you know, challenges and and certainly I love to run the ball, but we'll do whatever we feel like we have to do to uh, to put some points on

the board. And that may not always be running, you never know, but yeah, I'm I would love to establish the run. That's who I am. Dan. What what appealed to you guys about Quentin Copals uh well, his his his talent um, his links um, the fact that we feel like for for us, it's a scheme fit and we're a little lighted defensive end as it was, and it was a bit of a no brainer. And then you know, Mike cannonbamb had a history with him, he

knows who he is. Character wise, we know he's got a really good character and h we just feel like we're about to get the best of Quinn Copele's yet we're about to get you know, the best is ahead of him, and so we're excited to have him. Do you think he can have a role this week? Sure? I don't see why not. I mean, that's that's one of the reasons we've got him to use him for the last six So you know, if we can get

him up to speed, we plan on using him. And just clarify because here he was an outside linebacker for a lot. You guys are gonna use him on the line, right mostly he planned a D line for us. Primarily. We could use him in some other roles, but that's primarily what we're gonna do. What about Jarvis Landry, how big has and helpful to Tannehill has he and just his general playmaking ability. Yeah, Jarvis has been, um, you know, pivotal to us having success. I mean, he's he's a

heck of a football player. He plays with a lot of energy. He's a guy that always finds a way to get open, and he's dangerous with the ball in his hands. So he's been He's been one of Ryan's most reliable receivers. And for that reason, because he can't get open, he can separate, you know, at the top and and then like I said, when he when he's able to get the ball in his hands with a little bit of space or room, he could be dangerous for us. He's been. He's been very productive this year. Day.

You mentioned Mike Tanneman before. Obviously a lot of us know him. Um, what what's it been like working with him in this role as in from head coach? Mike has been great. Mike has helped me more than I can really even say. I mean, he's he's taken a huge burden off me, um from from the time this

this went over. I mean he told me his sole focus has been to support me and to make sure that that I am able to stay with the football side of things, and the staff and the players and and and it's been in that way, and I felt that way. Uh. And so he's been great, he really has. I mean that I don't I'm not sure I'd be able to do it without him under the circumstances. Can you talk about your running backs a little bit, Lamar Miller?

And also now you have j j I Ah, the rookie coming along now, how he's looked since he came back from the injury. Yeah, I would say we I would actually go with three because I feel like we have three quality backs are all a little bit different. If you throws Damian WIBs in there as well, But I would say, you know, Lamar Miller has been really good for us in space. He's been good in the run game for us because if he can hit that crease, he's got really good speed. Um, you know he Uh,

he's kind of an electric type guy. I mean, he's the type of player that can take any ball in the distance. And because of his skill set, Jay were really pleased with j as well. I mean, after he came back from the injury, we're able to practice him for a little bit and then get him involves. Starting with Buffalo, we were hoping he would be a little bit more of a downhill back, and he proved us

to be right, which is really encouraging, you know. And and so we feel like we've got two backs that that are a little bit you know, unique, a little bit different, but complement each other. Well. You know, you've got somebody it's a little bit better in space and get the whole take of the distance. And we feel like we have that back who put his foot in the ground and go down the hill. So we're we're

happy with both of them. And there again we have our third back, Damian Williams, who could do things in space and he's a really good special teams player for US. Dan, did you draw anything from watching Todd uh do do the interim coach uh for three games in two thousand and eleven when you got this this role, did you draw anything from that experience? Yeah? I did. I mean, I think one of the there was a couple of things that I remember most about bowls Uh. You know.

The first one was that he's gonna treat you like a man, and it was about you handle your business, um, and when you don't handle your business then you'll have the repercussions of it. But he he was he was about it being it's a man's league and it's time to man up. That was that was his messages. And the other thing is, Hey, whatever world we live in, offensively or defensively, that's that's who we are. We're not going to change who we are because we believe in

what we do. You know, for example, you know, uh, defensively, Hey, if we're gonna lie him up on third down, that we're gonna lie him up the whole game on third down. You know, he was kind of always that mentality is that we we know what we're doing, we believe in what we're doing, and we're gonna stick with it. And you know, it's been a proven commodity for him, you know, every everywhere he's been a defensive coordinator. And I mean, there again, I can't speak enough good things about Todd
