Ravens have the third overall defense in the NFL. What are you expecting this weekend from the Jets offense that has struggled as of late. Let's else, let else what am I expecting? I mean, what are your thoughts on it? I hope we progressed because last week was tough. A um, I don't. I mean, it'll

be interesting. Hopefully Gino provides the spark that the Jets haven't been able to have in a couple of weeks here and uh, everyone says they're on they're on this ship with him. Nobody intending is Brandon Marshall. Brandon marsh did he say it was on a ship of Genoa? He said the boats sank? And but Gino had a good practice And Gino dealt with a lot of adversity this year so far, and he's done a good job

with it. And and he you know, trusts uh trust coaches decision and that he's hopefully going to be the right guy for the job this week. So it should be interesting to see if Gino can you know, um take the lead and the rains on this team. Geno Smith has tremendous physical skill set. There's no doubting that anybody who watches don't play what said that. You don't have to be an NFL scout to determine that no

arm strengths really good. Also, he might be able to provide an element in the run game because Gino is a guy who can get out there. I'm not saying he's a running quarterback, but you might have some read option plays at times that might help you in the run game. This week against Baltimore. When I look at this matchup people, the Ravens defense, nobody is running against them. They're nailed with a lot of injuries themselves right now.

So maybe if you can get some plays down the field and Gino hits, whether it's Brandon Marshall, Robbie Anderson. I like what I saw that Girond peak Uh the other night. He's a tough kid. We saw him take a vicious shot and he came back. Um. You know, So if we can get some the Jets can get some plays down the field, maybe they can open some things up for them in the run game. But honestly, Ethan, when you look at this Baltimore team, in each of the past two seasons, their first six games have been

decided by six points or less. So I would not be surprised at all if this is a low scoring game and we're sitting there in the fourth quarter and its type the Ravens. You mentioned their defense, they're also, just to bring this up, there a little banged up as of late, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Yesterday, nine players did not practice for the Baltimore Ravensville C J. Mosley actually it's like three interceptions or something like that.

C J. Mosley, Well, Steve Smith is the other side of the wall. Andel Flacco didn't participate yesterday, but he should be a full go according to both him and coach Hardball. But c J. Mosley is just he's a monster there. And Terrell Suggs heard his biceps tours biceps, you know a little something about that. I wouldn't be able to play through it, you know how. Yeah, I don't score a couple of goals in the street hockey,

so we heard about that. Yeah, but what does the torn buys that feeling like just like like a rip like yeah, does it feel dead like a like a dead arm, like you just have nothing there? Or does it? Or is it Oh no, it's painful? Well yeah, I would imagine it's painful. But does it feel like it's just kinda yeah, you can't you some of that's pain tolerance, but yeah, the bottom line is that you just can't

operate with it. You know what I'm saying. You're not gonna be able to pick something up now with a pass rusher. You gotta use your hands his hand to hand combat in there, and things like that. I would imagine it would have some kind of impact on sugs. But dude, it's tough. He's a veteran. I would not be shocked at off he's out there speaking of tough in veterans. I'm hoping knock going with David Harris can be back in the lineup this week. But you mentioned Gino.

Here's the thing. He started two years in the National Football League. Okay, last time we saw him start was way back in two thousand fourteen against Miami. Tore them up in the final game. Didn't have a perfect passer rating in that's right, the final gave him a disappointing season. Um, and I'm sure he's chomping at the bit. Listen, he

was going to be. He was the starter heading into last year in training camp and unfortunately locker room incident breaks his jaw and Ryan Fitzpatrick came out of a tremendous season. So Geno has really waited his turn. He took reps with the first team throughout the spring. Uh. This is his second year in the office, and it's not it's not like he's a rookie like this will

be his thirtieth career start. So he has experienced Um, you know you know so, and you know everybody you're gonna be questioned no matter what you do at one oh five. That's where Tid Bowls is at right now. And that's the way the media operates, and that's the way the fan base operates. So if you stuck with Ryan Fitzpatrick, a lot of people would say, what the hell are you doing? And now you make a change to Geno Smith, people are saying, what the heck are

you do? One that's just par for the course. But this man knows his football team. By the way, Todd Bowls has not lost coaching skills here this year. He is the same guy who led this team to ten victories in two thousand and fifteen. Uh And he's looking for a spark for his team. And general Smith is an explosive athlete and wants to see what happens it all goes together. This was not just Ryan Fitzpatrick's problem.

We look at it. I thought the top Bowls eloquently stated that offensive lines not doing their job as well as they should be, the running banks aren't doing their job as well as they should be. Titans receivers it's a collective group. But he said and coaches right, and he included himself and that. But looking for a spark, Geno Smith gets the call. Any any final words here, I mean, I hope they can clean up the penalties because last week was absolutely insane. It felt like there

was a penalty on every other place. So especially on the defense, there was a ton of holding called a ton of past interference. The secondary had six lots of problems. Second four, I had six when I when I went through the playlist, it might have been six, but four were accepted. Regardless, it's a good point. I'm both of your part time penalies last week. It's fascinating because here's

a little preview. When we shoot our game preview later today, one of my keys will be disciplined because Jets had time penalties last week, a number in the defensive backfield. The Ravens, conversely, they had more than time last week against the Giants. They lead the National Football League and penalties. Really that's a that's a spoiler right there, that's a little teaser. But also are they had a little bit of an advantage because this is the second straight week
