Eric, we have a very special guest, a young man who's uh had some changes. He's a dad now, he's uh, you know, veteran on the team. He hasn't missed a game since I was born. This is uh to do our next guest Freeport native, long time Jets left tackle to break a shaw. Ferguson joins us now at Colange was your lovely wife is here put the family? And who is this adorable? How old is she now? Uh? Six months? What's it like being dead? It's uh, it's great new phase. Um. I think we're all going through

some changes. How stand sleeping at night? Um? You know? Um, I make it work. I make it work. So now how is he with diapers and feeding? He's good? Everything is good? Okay, So you get a pastor you're doing greatness up other that's that's that's impressive. Thank you about you? Thank you? Okay? So is it how has this changed your life? It is it different to your approach football? Differently to your approach life? Differently? How do you how

do you approach thinks? Now? I just you know, I think it makes uh for great conversation in the locker room. You know, I can talk to my fellow teammates like, uh, damon and be like, man, I'm struggling, Man, what did you do? You know, get good advice and uh, and I got a lot of great peers. Uh, David Harris, he's good for advice. So I feel like I get closer to my teammates. What's the best piece of advice?

The hit man David Harris is giving this? I think, you know a lot of times it's it's just, you know, there's so many different opportunities, whether you know, a lot of times he left pictures of like his daughter is sleeping on his chest, and I think they relish the small moments, you know, so when you're out there you're battling, uh, you could always take a look and say, you know, these are some of the precious moments that you have. And I think it it just, you know, makes whatever

you're going through a lot easier, a lot better. Talk flash quickly, you know, they grow up and fast. Six months going quickly, right, I don't I wouldn't use the word quickly, but it's gone. It's gone. It's like a marathon. So you're so you're pacing yourself. You're going through it, taking this slow Yeah, Okay, that's good. I'll go with that.

So final answer, complete that answer. So yesterday, you guys get off to a slow start in the first half, but you make adjustments and you come back in the second half. What was that halftime like in the locker room and what were some of the things that you guys knew that you needed to improve on. Well, you know that was you know, we faced adversity during the halftime or during that first half, and you know the challenge was how are we going to respond in the

second half? UM, I think we had an opportunity to go out there and and win the game, but you know, time ran out and we didn't do enough to to put the game uh in a in that situation, I think we we waited a little too long, uh in the first half before making um some real points and so that hurt us. We had some penalties and UM some turnovers and all that kind of hinders what you're trying to get accomplished, and that is ultimately win the game.

How it difficult is that for you guys up front when you're playing behind from such a deficit, where at the end of the game you see the numbers and it's staggering Ryan Fitzpatrick passive counts. You know, I think, um, you know, sometimes you put yourself in a situation. You know, if you don't score points early, where uh now you have to score you know, and and you know that's a different type of game when you have to go and put out and start pass protecting on every play.

But um, I think we had an opportunity to change that. Um, And unfortunately we didn't. We didn't get a chance to do that. So, UM, you know, it was one of those situations you put yourself in a bad situation. So it was nothing that you know, we caused it ourselves. How how does the mindset change when you know, hey, this is the situation we're in. We gotta put the ball up in there and it's alignment. We're not gonna be firing off too much. We gotta protect Ryan right now.

I mean, the one thing that we UH coach teaches us as a situational awareness, and that's something that I think we you know, we recognize the situation we're in and we adapt to that. Um. You know, the defense knows, not our defense, but the opposing defense knows that as well. They know, hey, they can only do but so much

uh times against them and they need points. So um, Unfortunately, even though we recognize the situation we're in, we weren't able to maximize it to the point of success, you know, and so we still lost uh that game. But you know, after looking at the tape, you know, you always take the good and the bad, and you know, now we have an opportunity this week to go out, uh travel the waters and uh, you know, beat up on Miami.

The Gregor Star Ferguson's our guest. This is inside the Jets Larry Harnisty and Eric Allen at Colancho's Italian Village. You were able yesterday to we talked about depth earlier. Willie Cologne goes out with the new situation. But you bring in Brian went. There's a guy who's performed before. What's that confidence level like in him? How quickly does he have to get right into into the row and I think you know the confidence is high. I mean, not only did didn't he have an opportunity to play

last year as I started before you know, he was injured. Um, you know, the way we practice, we constantly have rotations, so uh, he had an opportunity to get reps. He knows what it is to you know, be ready, and I think he responded as best as he could in a situation like that. How much have you enjoyed playing next to the the big carp James Carpenter, who's appeared, who appeared in the past two Super Bowls with the Seattle Seahawks, signed here in the off season, and I think he's

done it to run this job up front. He's definitely a rare talent and uh, you know, I appreciate that tune to play again, you know with him. Um, you know, he's he's very explosive, talented and I think he only makes our line better now. He's a man of mystery. I talked to Nick man Good. I asked him, what is the conversation Like he says he doesn't talk, he

has to spoken to the media. What's that relationship Like, I mean, he's a guy that he just seems like he's a physical guy that's going there, not somebody out and let's move on to the next flight. I think, I mean that's basically it. Um. You know, the conversations that we have or you know, we don't get a

lot of words. It changes. You know, hey, it's going on good okay practice all right, So you know a lot of times, you know what we're working on that we have word counts and uh hopefully we can every day just make progress and you use more words. You guys are never gonna use injuries is an excuse. But how much does that impact you? When Chris Ivey's out of the lineup, Eric Decker unfortunately couldn't go as well, even a guy like Chris and Woizu he's gonna be

out for a couple of weeks. And then uh, Willie Colon went down yesterday as as well. I think you know, you you recognize what those guys contributed and and how much of impact they had on the game when they're out there. Um, you know, unfortunately, you know, injuries is something that uh every team faces in the league. So again we can't use that, like you mentioned as an excuse, but um, you know, we we have some really talented players and sometimes you can feel when they're not on

the field. Brand one of those talented players, Brandon Marshall, how much have you enjoyed having him as a teammates so far? You know, he's a very hard worker. I mean even during the offseason, he would come and train with the offensive linemen and me and and and and and challenge us in what we did. So Uh, that guy, I mean, he works very hard, and he's extremely talented, and you know, I definitely think he's a great addition

to our team. All Right, you're preparing to go to London. Now, you as you mentioned, you have Miami first divisional opponent. What's the when when they started talking to you about going to London. You've got to sleep people coming in. They're trying to change the program, they're trying to do all this for athletes, to our creatures of habits. How tough is this gonna be? Ah, you know, I don't know because I've never done it before. But what I will say is, um, I think it's gonna be a

new experience for both. Um. I think we're gonna have to adjust I mean our trip as far as travel time, I think the biggest thing is I think they said we changed five time zones, and that's something that I don't know how many guys have played with that before. So, UM, it'll be interesting. I know we're gonna do our best to adapt. Uh, you know, we want to win more than anything at this point, just to uh, you know again show what we can do um and that that

will be definitely a motivating factor for us. You're not gonna have any time for sight seeing. But have you ever been over to Europe before? I have when we were going on our honeymoon. We've made a pit stop in uh London and it was good, even though I was tired to uh see some of the things I think we we uh, I don't know. I don't even know what we saw. You don't remember. I confuse London and some of the other places I've traveled, so I'm like, oh,

really saw that. She's like, that's that's not in London. So I'm like, well, you know what, it was nice when I saw it. So no advice for Judge fans, because you know, there's gonna be a big green and white contingent overseas, over across the pond, you know what. I'll have a little tourists hand out at when I go to concierge or like, you know, can I can I see the sights and I'll be looking at the

map like everybody else taking pictures. I'm like, hey, stand here, Selfie doesn't help that it's a familiar opponent that you're going over the face. It helps, but I think it makes it that much more important that we have, you know, success, because you know, we want to beat these guys. Miami and in New York we've always had an interesting relationship very you know, I won't, I won't. It's not friendly. You know it's not friendly. You know, your vacation. But

that's all you do in Miami. That's it. So UM, it's gonna be a competitive game. It's gonna be fun, uh for the fans to watch, and uh, you know, hopefully we'll we'll have a different outcome good this week to break a show. What stands out to me about your career is you find one of the top left tackles in the National Football League since you were drafted out of Virginia. But your durability is unbelievable. You've only

missed a couple of plays in your entire career. Um, with that being said, how do you think you have been able to stay on the field in a league that is a hundred percent injury league. You know, I don't mean I don't take any credit. I definitely you see it as a blessing. You know, I definitely recognize how precious opportunity is to go out there and and be able to perform. Um. It's nothing that I think about.

I mean, I think when people bring it up, it's like, oh wow, But you know, I just kind of go and and and focus on the task at hand. Um, And that's how I try to approach it, you know. And uh, I'm just happy again that I've been giving a chance to play for this organization and continue to play for this organization. So I just try to make the most of it. Um. Whenever I'm I'm giving that opportunity to to Breakorshaw Ferguson, one of the top left

tackles in the National Football League. Thanks for a couple of mens. Thanks for bringing your family by. I know you're gonna miss that little girl when you're going to London. Well, she she'll be there with me. Yeah passport. You know you should see the mugshot's She wasn't happy when she took that photo a first inside the Jets reading. Yeah, yeah, I hope she does well on the plane. I won't be there, but her mom will, so everybody needs to support her, keep her. You know, she'll be out. She'll

be good. Thanks again for coming by to Breakorshaw Ferguson
