Luck calls for the ball. Here comes to get flips back to throw. Luck looks over the middle throws I set accepted. Calvin Fire's got It's left for the thirties. He's at the twenty inside to take blood get the nine first Dame Gold Jets on the first throw interception for Calvin Fire. Now back to inside the Jets on Nutty eight point seven ESPN. Here's Larry Hardisty and Eric Gallant. Okay, let's bring in one of yesterday's heroes, Calvin Pryor. We just heard Bob was shoots him with the call of

your first career interception. Yeah, pretty big. I love taking the crowd through that play. Well, it happened so fast. Uh, but we knew they were gonna come out and try to take some sides down the field, and you know, just going through my progression, I had seen two guys streaming at me coming out of the field and it was a deep overcoming. So I just tried to break on the ball. Once you throw up, try to throw the ball, and happened. It had to be chipped by

Andrew Johnson, you know, just lending in my hands. So my first career interception to take that one into the house. Yet to the nine watching watching on the film, it should have been a touchdown, but I often scored. Uh, so that was pretty big for us earlier in the game. You're still smiling when you heard that. You just heard that play back and she was looking at that smile. I was excited about that one. You should be. This

is a jet defense and everybody's talked about it. We've talked about how good you guys think this defense can be. But your ability to turn the ball over the first couple of weeks has to make you feel like, you know what, we really believe in what top bols is talking about, and we're able to do it on the field. Oh, no question about it. Uh. Coming in, that's all he

talked about. He stretched turnovers in the defensive room, you know, and it's important to get the ball back to our offense so they can go and put points on the board. So we've been playing at a very high level. So hopefully we can just bring that intensity weekend and week out and make things happen on defense side of the ball and just let the offense take care of business. Just how competitive is it in the defensive backroom, because

right now everybody's getting their hands on the football. It's very competitive, you know, and that's what's that's what great about it. That's what's great about it. You know, everybody's coming and compete with one another when no you know, not just against the offense, be against each other in the defensive room. You know it amount of stuff. Who can have the most interceptions, who can have the most

funder recoveries, and different things like that. You know, as long as we keep playing on that same page, you know, creating something special in that DV room, disguy's the limit, Calvin. The challenges in communication. Fansit back and they watch the secondary. They watch you guys talking people moving to the line. Last second. You may approach the line of scripts them back off, Gil, Chris may try to approach on the Brulitz, or somebody will come off the last minute. That takes

a lot of communication. Take us through what that communication is like, that process, It all happened in practice. You know. Preparation is key, especially when you're going somebody against Andrew Luck definitely top five quarterback in this league. You know, you have to try to disguise things and don't give them just a basic look so that's what we try to do last night. You know, we knew it was gonna bring a lot of pressure to him and just try to cause some confusion. And we knew as a

defensive back to know we have to move around. Just couldn't stay still in one spot. So we probably under our disguises during the week, you know, they paid off to during the game. With that being said, how much did you guys mix up coverages back there? Because obviously you're referring to disguise and pre snap, but how much do you mix up coverages throughout again? Coach Bowls Man, Coach Casey, these guys does a heck of a job, you know, preparing us for the game and putting the

game playing together. We had so many blitzes, so many stunts up front and different things like that. So you have to make sure, you know, you be on your keys and you know what you're doing, you know, and just get uh going to the game, just ready to execute on the defense side of the ball. What about when your numbers called for the blessed because one of the formations I love last night, I don't know it was a four to five or not four downlineman, Yeah,

two outside linebackers standing. You had Jamari Laddimore playing like a center field and there here are you going on in blitz. They got me playing something everywhere. But that's the great thing about it. I'm able. I'm able to move around, you know, give different looks. I might drop to the center of the field. I might be playing man and man on someone. Um, I might be giving

help inside. I might be blessing like you said. So it's just a different change up, you know, And that's good for offense to see things like that because you know, we can always switch it up at any time. To tell you what, the Colts have good tight ends, so I thought that was one of the key matchups going into this game. Unfortunately for time, Dwayne Allen got hurt early. But Kobe Fleeer I didn't hear from him at all.

I mean, you guys did a really good job on the back end, not only with the receivers, but with the tight ends as well. Oh, make no mistake about it. And those guys have a great football team, you know, and like you said, we're fleeing Alan Hilton. Those guys can definitely play, you know, and we make sure we're game playing for those guys to try to limit them

as much as possible. And we knew they were going to try to come out and run the ball, you know, and once we started stopping the run, they're gonna try to go to their big time players. But we did a great job game planning, you know, on those guys cyfically and just trying to get the job done. We are being joined by Calvin Pryor, Larry Harsting and Eric Alan On inside the chet. You cook, I do it at times, but I'm not you know, I'm not being

on cooking. You're not picking what's your favorite deal? What's your favorite meal that you have to your go to meal? Somebody coming over. You're trying to impress the what's the go to meal that you have? Uh, probably like spaghetti and go out like bread or something like spaghetti. You can't go wrong with that. I'll tell you what he's like your fire things. That's smart, you know, with your

strength right, no doubt about it. I tell you what, if you like spaghetti, this is the place, man, Absolutely, you like Italian food, It's good man. Get the pastries on the way out too. Be careful with the page out, Be careful to Pat, I'm trying to watch my weight, so be careful with definite, you know, taking it easy. Let me ask you this, um, last year, your rookie year,

you had a chance to learn both safety positions. How much of of a factor is that now with your comfort or being able to play both not to think to just play fast and just know what you're doing out there. It's a lot of pressure off you. I feel very comfortable at what I'm doing. You know, I might be in the middle of the field who might be down, but going through what I went through last year, you know, it helped me out a lot. This year. UM, my confidence level is at an all time high right now.

Very focused, very locked in, you know, and adding some key pieces around me. That was the really main thing. You know, when you can play alongside Reeves and Crow, add Bus and Gilly on the back end, and just add some more depth in the dB room, you know, it makes you feel comfortable and just compete with those guys, and that's going out knowing that they're going to have your back weekend a week out. You know, it makes you feel good about yourself and you can just go

play fast and be yourself. Your head coach played eight years in the National Football League. He played the safety position. He has a championship rank and I know he's tougher around the safeties probably than any other position. What's your interaction been like with Todd Bowles and how has he helped you out? Oh, make no, make no mistake about it. He's definitely tough on the back end, you know. And uh,

but that's good though. You know, we can relate to what he's done in the past, and he could just give us tips on things of what you see on the sideline, you know, just as of us him coaching us. He always tell us, you know, just makes you in the position to make the play. You know, we practice all week on what we're gonna do and just make sure you just go out and just go play fast. And he's very quiet. He really doesn't say much. You know,

this is gonna lets ussel. You might check Guilly before markets scale crist and he's a guy who's going onto the radar here obviously year off to uh turn out to start and your own right to rol reeve. This is doing some historic things on a football field. Buster Screen is finally getting recognized on the national level. I think that was big for him playing on Monday night football for the first time in his career. We know what Crow could do. You got adopted the cornerback position.

But let's talk about Gilly. What makes him such a good ball player? Very intelligent, very very intelligent, you know. And he teaches me something that the safety position that I've never really heard another safety say. And um, man, he's just a big part of my success right now. You know, he might I look like he's doing much out there, but at the same time, man, he's giving me tips on whether it be you know and uh the sguis and coverages and making sure the quarterback uh

makes his reads and different things like that. So he's helped me out a lot since he's came in, you know. And uh, he makes sure I always stay focused on the same page with him, and he loves communicating. Um. He always talks about no miss taps on the back end of different things like that. So as long as we know, keep playing together, you know, creating a tight bone, you know, we can be a great talent to going

to back end. This is a short week. What if you learned from last year about taking care of your body, mental preparation, game preparation when you have a short week, making that ad judgment so that you're still freshen everything for the next game. It's big. It's big. You know, you just play the Monday night football game. You've been

off there banging. You know. We had the day off, so it was important that we had went and got in the cold, toup hot to have got some treatments, massages, um, whatever players like to do to get their bodies ready. You know, knowing we have a short we you know we have to bounce right back at it. But it's just all the mental game right now. You just have to make sure we were have prepared so we can go perform on Sunday. What's the feeling though, coming into

the complex now tomorrow? Is you really start Eagles week? It's Wednesday morning and you are too you know. Uh, you know. The one thing that Todd Bowles has stressed throughout is even kill and you guys have followed that approach. But I gotta imagine you've got a little pep in your step knowing that you're off to this positive start and defensively, to take away it's has been something else. It's definitely a good feeling. But at the same time,

we have the same approach weekend and week out. You know, it's around three of the boxing match, and that's what we were talking about. It's the heavyweight fight, sixteen rounds and it's round three. We don't have the same approach, the same focus. You know, we have our main focus the Philadelphia Eagles. On a short week, it's gonna make sure we get prepared for those guys. Gonna be definitely

a good challenge for us. They have a simple offense and they play good on the defense side of the ball. I had a chance to watch him, so I look forward to the match up and how much is that gonna impact your preparation away. They do play offense because

it's very unique Chip Kelly style. It's hard to go against the compractice because you know, the offense is doing their things and trying to know focus on what they're going to see on the defenseid of the ball, and with us facing the offense, you know, we really don't go offense too much in practice, so the temple, we really can't, you know, play it out right away, but it's just we have to get a field for once

the game starts. But if we can just keep getting stops and just keep playing at the high level, you know, I'm pretty sure we can predict the game. I'll tell you one thing. Communication is gonna be big. It's always big, but in a situation like this where you know you may have to stay on the field and just make some adjustments on the fly, communication is gonna be very very important on someday. Uh, most definitely. And Uh that's the main thing we talked about on the plane last night. Uh.

Who was already talking about the Eagles. You know they like to go fast, so communication is big. We have to make sure we get in the calls and and just go play fast. That's the main thing. Go play fast, get stops. You know, everything will slow down. And that's why Jets fans it should be excited about this Bunge because it's a professional approach. This guy is in the second year and he's telling you what he's doing on the plane right coming home, not watching a movie like me.

He me talking when his teammates about preparing for the Philadelphia Eagles. That's it, Calvin, great game yesterday, Thanks for a couple of minutes. Thank you. I appreciate you a good luck on Sunday, all right, that's Calvin Pryor, Ladies and gentlemen,
