Jets fans joined the New York Jets for the second annual Turkey Trot five k on Sunday November at Atlantic Health Jets Training Center. For more information at pricing, go to NYC runs dot com slash Jets five k. As I've spoke about before, Larry, we will actually be in Houston, so I will not be able to participate in the five k this year, but you promised to run and

send the video back. I will do that. And a man who joins us now Jets cornerback Antonio Carimarti, I would imagine, uh, you probably could uh do some damage in a five k. I'm not running anything. No, have you ever run a five k before? What was your time in four? State record? Yeah? No, not state record. Actually, Xavier kid, I would I wouldn't hold another school guys this day. He ran like one too, But Larry, it had to be up there because Crow is a legendary

athlete down in the state of Florida. Yeah, he definitely is. He definitely is. And he got you got a little speed to him, and he can uh catch the ball too, as he told us a couple of years ago, and he wanted to do some wide receiver stuff, and then I can and he can throw it to these guys once in a while practice. Uh hey, when you let one unleash, how many yards you can put the ball in there? Well, I used to I can probably throw

about eighty yards. Eighty yards Okay, So if we're playing like flag football or something, I wouldn't mind him being my all time quarterback. Yeah. Absolutely, he's the right person to do that. Antonio Carmari, tell me about yesterday's game. Second half, you guys just turned things around offensively and defensively, but first half the defense didn't play back. I know you want to keep them out the end on You

guys didn't shut out all the time. But considering turned overs in the NFL, you have to be turned overs and you keep the opposition now the end zone except for the one time. You know, you got a pretty good trying to coming back to win that game. I mean, I think you do. I think the biggest thing, you know, we try to take a lot of product in every town out of every turnover that happens with the offense is the opportunity for us to go out and show

what kind of defense we're gonna be in showcase. I mean, you know that you know that what kind of players we have. And I think the biggest thing is, you know, like you said, we did give it the one touch now and you know the way they got down. You know, we had some missing miss miscommunication down there where some guys were winning in the right spot and you know that's how they got a chance to have some big plays.

But other than that, I mean, it's just the point of guys just going on and playing lights out for each other and just you know, I'm saying to make sure that we're being accountable, step up and every play. I'll tell you what one of those big plays in the second halfter I'll read this is getting the interception. Was the thirteen thirteen tie at that point. And one thing that really caught my ear was Todd bol said

after the game Therell Reaves was playing zone. So once in a while you got play huh, but he was playing man. But you know, I think the biggest thing we do have a chance to actually in this defense where we don't always play man the man, but you know, when we get those opportunities, it gives us an opportunity to look back at back and going and gona make plays, Uh, the way we we need to. How much fun is that Antonio to play that chess game with the quarterback

to make him. I think he's looking at something, but it's not really what he thinks it is. And I mean because you wouldn't think if you're looking at real sure taking all he's man and man, you would never think of him being in his own now you really wouldn't. But you know that's that's Top Bowls defense, you know, being a part of the Top Bowls defense lash in Arizona,

that's the same thing that we always got. You know, you you come into it, you may look like what we're playing man and man, but what's on showing his own coverage or uh a corner maybe sending in a cover too where he's a flat foot and reading and just read and seeing anything that come out to him. So it just the point is this to change up and it gives quarterbacks different looks. And like you said,

it's a chess game. At the same time that top was playing with the offensive coordinator that we're trying to play with the with the quarterback. Crow. Uh, you're a fortunate guy because you look at you the last couple of years. You're used to having early success. What was your record in Arizona last year? You guys ran up like nine and nine and row out of the gate or something like that. I think I know because we end up losing to Denver week five. Oh so what

was your what was your record? You had to be nine and one or something was earlier. I was like nine and one. So so what's the key as far as handling success right now? Taking one game at a time. That's the way you look at it. You know, you don't look you don't look ahead, You don't think about anything else. You just think about and focus about, focus on that one team that you played for that week, and that's it. You can't. You don't think about anything else. Antonio,

who was Todd Bowls. You worked with him last year. He's here this year. Is he the same guy? He's quiet, He just seems to be Everything is, it's gonna be all right. Everything is even killed. Everything is one game at the time. Everything is just calming and cool and collective. That's how both and that's that's how I know. When he was in Arizona as a defensive coordinator, never panic, never you know, made things bigger than what it was, and he was like, look, this is who we are,

and this is what we're gonna do. We're gonna take away this and see if they can do something else better. And that was it. Well does that do for a player when your coaches like that, because everybody always says that the players take the attitude of the personality of their head coach, So what does that do throughout the team on both sides of the No, I just think you just look at it differently. You just I think every player may look at it taking it taking their

own way. But like from me, what I took it's like, look all that can focus on. It's just it's just one team. I'm not gonna look ahead, think about anybody else, not trying to put my plans forward for anything, because my my plans and my focus need to be on this one particular team in my assignment. And you know, being part of the top bows lease past two seasons, that's something I really took it away from him to just focus on my assaunment at that point in time.

I don't think about anything else, focus on one player at a time, because no matter what it is, something may happen in the game, and now you gotta try to be focused and get back to it. You're a veteran. The young guys look up to you, and they told me that that they watch you and Trell very closely the way you go about your business, your professional approaches.

With that being said, when you see buster screen go down yesterday and Dexter McDougald is about to enter the game, do you have to say anything or at that point you think he's ready because of the preparation he's put in,

not one. I think he's I think he's ready. But to have the same any communication with it, I think the biggest thing is just making sure that we all on the same page and once we get to us, once you get to that point, to make sure he knows, hey, let's make sure we're talking this, make sure we all on the same page and we just played from football from there. How do you think you handle himself? I

think he handed us up pretty good. I mean he had a nice past breakup in the end zone him on the fourth down and got us off the field. Corners no corners, Okay, you guys talk. You guys watch yourself around the league. Is he screen talking talking about him? Is he better than what you thought when you watched him? Is he different as you do? You appreciate him more

of being around him every day, all about just been outest. Uh, he's a when you look at him and you watch the film from last year when he was in Cleveland, he's not that. He's not that person. He's a totally different person. He's like, you know, flowery guy, a lot of energy, how more the guy gonna give you his all on every single play. So uh, not only that, but he's very smart and very coachable, and uh, you know you don't you don't expect that from a young

from a younger guy. You know, you guy. You most guys you get they already know everything and they figured they got everything under control. But when you look at him, he's a guy that understands the system, understand what his job bils, and tries to go to his job to the best invisibility. Speaking of smart guys, what has Marcus Gilchris added to the secondary? Everybody's calling him the quarterback in the second l today. So you're not too happy

with Gilly right now? I told him I want to talk to tell him ntil wins yeah, yeah, but the scouting report on him because I think we knew what you could bring to the table. We knew what derelph it was. Obviously Busters come in here and done a really nice job. But Marcus he's really opened some eyes, I think to some outsiders, I think he really has. Uh. Not only that, but I think it's just the system

that we're playing. It gives him to leave way to just be free, you know, and that is you know, our sect, our defense is based on our secondary and making all these chucks, making all the calls and epic Sure we do what we're supposed to do. And you know when he goes out there, he's nexture. He knows every single position, goes what everyone is supposed to do. And that just speaks bohms before guy to come in

and learn us in the way he did. So. Uh, you know, I think this this defense gives a lot of lead way to go on and just be the free player he needs to be, an athlete, he needs to be, and that's what he's like, that's what he's out here doing. When we talk about New England, what are those practices like with you and Brandon Marshall, battling it out, going up, jumping around. Now you're checking in depending him and he's trying to get the ball over you.

It's fine, be honest with him. He's competitive and he praised that same competitive that he plays in the games at practice. So uh. And he's always looking to learn the same as me. You know, we're always trying to figure out what we do, what we did bad on one on a step, or if I maybe had seen me something, he's seen something from me. So it's always about being competitive in that he's and trying to get each other better every single time. Patriot's week. Uh, Tom Brady,

we all know one of the best ever. Uh. I read uh somebody today some quotes from you after the game saying that you've matured as a player as far as how you're gonna approach games like this, you know, honestly just snow the game. And I think it's from be honest with them, just learning there from Todd. It's been a part of being a part of in Arizona.

Now it's just another game. Yes, it's a divisional game, but as like you said, and like you said, it's not gonna hurt as it's not gonna It's not gonna, you know, breakers or anything else. So it's just let's go play football. And it's so who we are. How's he gonna do this year? He's gonna do good. Always come on, I'm positive sure. I just Crow the big time Miami fans touch more trash than the mind he played. Yeah, it's kind of weak this year. It's Cleveland and runaway.

It might be huh, we'll see Nick nick kind of rebuilding. You know, Crow and I have our differences because of course Florida State products. Yes, I got my graduate degree from the University of Florida. So the Gators are gonna have a big one with the Knowles later this year. I heard that a lot. But as had success at all in the past five years, we'll have to see. Well, it's gonna be interesting. How much fun did you have

You're talking to leg earlier with the boot camp. How much fun did you have with the broadcasting book campus shop? It was work. It was work. It was a lot of work, a lot of time put in. And I do said earlier, wrap it up be I like to do, said earlier. I think the biggest thing is just the hours that you put in but you learned a lot and learn about you learn a lot of learning a lot about yourself and what you need to work on. Didn't enjoy it. I enjoyed it a little bit of it.

Do you enjoyed? He loved it, every bit of it. He loved it harder, Uh, studying the status are studying the playbook? Uh? But for me, stats come easy. So just me looking at it, looking over and I can't. I can't remember recalling everything. So but I think the playbook is more so trying to learn everybody position. So I think the playbook is harder. All right, listen, thanks for stopping by, Thank you for having Next time, you know,

put a look quicker. I know we'll get you in the lead off spot and that messed up moho, Oh we bet go to break. I think this could be a le brawl here and tell your commodity ladies and Gentlevin
