¶ Finding Calm Amidst Chaos
If you've ever been feeling overwhelmed by your thoughts stuck in overthinking or consumed by anxiety you're in the right place today we're not going to force your thoughts away or pretend they don't exist instead we're going to explore a different approach one that allows you to find a sense of calm even in the middle of the mental chaos. This is your time to pause, to step outside of the noise and to reconnect with a quieter, steadier part of yourself. Let's begin by settling into your space.
Find a position that feels comfortable and safe whether you're sitting upright or lying down. Allow your hands to rest naturally, maybe on your lap or by your sides. Close your eyes if that feels right for you or soften your gaze towards the ground. Music. Hold it gently for a moment and then release it slowly. As you exhale, imagine letting go of tension. And let's do that again, breathing deeply in through the nose.
Hold and release, breathing out slowly, imagining yourself letting go of tension. And repeat one more time, breathing deeply in through the nose, Hold And then breathe out nice and slowly, letting go of tension, Now take a moment to notice the sensations in your body, Feel the points of contact your feet against the floor your body supported by the chair or bed, Notice the way your chest rises and falls as you breathe. Music.
Your breath is your anchor, No matter how wild the mind feels Your breath and body are always here to ground you. Music. Now imagine that your mind is like the sky. It's vast, limitless and always there even when it's filled with storms.
¶ Meeting the Storm with Strength
Picture yourself standing. Music. As you stand in this field you realize that you're not at the mercy of the storm. In the distance you see a path, a path that leads towards calm in the middle of the chaos. It might feel counter-intuitive to walk into the storm, but trust yourself with each step forward you're choosing to meet the storm with strength and curiosity. Music. Now take your first step onto the path. Feel your feet steady beneath you.
The wind might be howling. The rain might be falling. But you keep moving forward. Each step you take is deliberate, it's supported by your breath. Inhale deeply through the nose and exhale slowly. Feel the strength in your body Even as the storm continues blowing around you.
¶ The Eye of the Storm
As you get closer to the center of the storm You begin to notice something surprising, The storm starts to quiet, you've reached the eye of the storm now, but here the air is still, the chaos is swirling far away, but in this space there's peace. Music. Let your body relax fully as you breathe deeply. Inhale through the nose and exhale slowly. Notice how it feels to sit in this quiet, steady place within you. Repeat to yourself, I am not my thoughts. I am the observer of my thoughts.
Then breathe in this truth. Let it settle in your mind and body. I am the calm within the storm. Repeat this again, slowly and with intention. I am the calm within the storm. Music.
¶ Returning to Your Calm
You don't need to stay here forever, but know that you can return anytime that you choose. This calm is always within you, no matter how wild. Music. And toes. Notice the space that you're in, the sounds, the sensations around you. Music. Then take one final deep breath and as you exhale carry this sense of calm and steadiness into the rest of your day. Music. Remember the storm doesn't define you and you don't have to fight it. You can always choose to walk towards the calm at its centre.
