Episode description
For many of you that follow me, you know that I’m often vocal about the way today’s watch industry markets its products. Well, just about an hour ago, swatch group announced that they will not be participating in Baselworld next year. This means that a good section of the fair will now be empty (unless someone fills it up). CEO Nick Hayek even said that in today’s environment of fast pace and transparency, they don’t see it useful. It’s only a matter of time before some of the industry giants really dive deep into social media and embraces the new form of marketing and brand awareness. Baselworld is overpriced anyway. ❗️What’re your thoughts on this?!
