Episode description

Bonus episode with *video* and an invitation!

Join me and career coach Wendy Saccuzzo for a live (on Zoom) Career Conversation on Pivots and Side Hustles.

One of the inspirations behind this podcast is the experience I had over 12 years ago, when I was promoted to a Director role and started managing a team of my peers. There wasn't much guidance or training available to me as a new manager, and it's one reason I started teaching Essential Skills for New Managers, which then led to this podcast.

My career journey has had a number of pivots (I've been a lawyer, a yoga teacher, and a public speaking trainer). Now I work full-time as a coach in private practice, but looking back I can see how my side-hustles helped me become a better manager, a more inspired leader, and led me to work I really love.

This free✨ live (on Zoom) event is on Thursday, April 25, at 9am Pacific Time.

Welcome to the New Manager Podcast. My name is Kim Nicholl, I am your host, and today we're trying something new video I wanted to pop on real quick this week because I'm hosting a career conversation with my friend Wendy. She is a career coach with a lot of experience in the tech industry and she and I are hosting a career conversation on pivots and side hustles. This is going to be on Zoom on April 25th. I will put a link in the show notes.

It's totally free. If you're able to come and join us, we will be sharing what we have learned in our own careers about pivots and side hustles. If you don't know, I used to be a lawyer. I worked in corporate. I've worked in corporate learning and development in a global tech company. I've also worked in startups and I've been a yoga teacher. So there are a lot of different

parts to your career journey. And if you've been thinking about a career pivot, changing industries or changing something in a dramatic way, or if you've been thinking about a side hustle, maybe something that you're interested or curious about getting going on the side, either because you envision it could become your full time thing or because it's just something that you feel really enticed and interested in, then you will want to come so that you can have this conversation

with me and with Wendy. So again, go into the show notes, you'll find a link to that event. It is April 25th at 99 AM Pacific. I hope to see you there.
