‘Caveat emptor, quia ignorare non debuit quod jus alienum emit,’: Latin, which translates to: “Let a purchaser beware, for he ought not to be ignorant of the nature of the property which he is buying from another party.”

Knowledge and learning are the base principles of Caveat Emptor, as this is how we exercise our due diligence before entering into a transaction; we must educate ourselves about what we are buying so we can recognize if there are any issues with it.
