Episode description

I had never heard the 2004 World Series Champion Boston Red Sox referred to as The Idiots until right before recording with Sean, but after the chat, I can certainly say the name is fitting. A term of endearment for a bunch of lovable weirdos who somehow managed a series of miraculous occurrences after 80+ years of the Curse of the Bambino, the Idiots are surely worth chatting about as they were probably the most unlikely candidates to break the curse that had been in place since the Sox traded Babe Ruth to the Yankees. Sean was already a budding journalist (check out his columns at Thrillist!) during the series, so his interest and involvement as a college student surrounded by fellow Sox fans was at a prime time to be entrenched in the season. Along the way we come up with some new definitions for DFA, PED, and the Hot Stove season. It's more fun than making Jungle Juice in the locker room. Play ball!
