Episode description

On this week’s episode of Podcast from Washington, NACCHO government affairs team members Ian Goldstein and Eli Briggs discuss the latest $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief bill currently in the Senate and the testimony of NACCHO President Jennifer Kertanis in last week’s House Appropriations Labor, Health and Human Services (LHHS) Subcommittee hearing.

Later in the program, Ian talks with Adriane Casalotti, NACCHO Chief of Government and Public Affairs, about NACCHO’s first virtual Capitol Hill Week, in which 90 NACCHO members had over 125 meetings with their elected representatives and senators via Zoom and telephone. Adriane and Ian discuss the importance of Capitol Hill Week, as well as the need for sustained advocacy for public health priorities throughout the year.
