¶ Intro / Opening
He laughed at me. Wow. I might pick no one. I'll have to say. Oh, fuck. Wow.
¶ Welcome to the Motley Crue
He had to drop six balls again. Lock, lock, lock. You all right, Cunt? Yeah. What are you looking for? Trying to find something. Oh, I found something. Yeah. Welcome, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to the Motley Crue. He found an extra chromosome. Yeah, I don't know what he fucking found. Welcome, welcome, welcome, welcome. Found a distraction. We're here. And we're not in the game room, Boulevard. We are in the Bacardi Jug Apartments.
As soon as I saw him, looked that way. In Fiji. Maybe in Fiji, but we're away from home. But we're here and we're back. We're back in business. All three, the Muttley crew are here. How are we doing, Kyle and Cody? It's a lovely evening. We've just pushed closer into Brisbane, you know, towards Suncorp, towards Origin. You know, it's building. We've been away for a couple of weeks, so there's a lot of chat you missed out on. So we're really going to smash it in this one.
It's only a matter of time before we're doing this to the Caxton boys. Yeah, getting drinks and shit thrown at us. Yeah, fucking hell. What a dream. But yes, you're right. It's fucking Origin within a week, and we're getting fucking tuned up. We're getting pumped. It's a bit, I don't know, it seems a little bit low-key at the moment, but it will ramp up very soon, a bit low-key. The flu's about to go through the Queensland camp. It will ramp up.
Yeah. Billy Slater will come out and say we're Queenslanders. I'm surprised there's no odds up yet of which Queenslander is going to be the one to get the flu in the coming days. I actually had a quick look. Karen Munster's a $1.05. Mate, with a fucking hairdo and a moustache like that, he can't get sick. We're getting it more from New South Wales at the moment. We've got the Payne Haas not training at the moment, etc. Well, he's got a bit of a quad.
A bit of quad. Steve Croydon's got a bit of a hammy. Croydon's coming out and said he's playing. Yeah, Croydon. That could also be a bit of a... Why else would you pull Dewey into the side? Well, into the squad. A bit of experience. I can play Origin. I'm thinking that right now. Could you imagine if he did? Benji asked if he could just go into the Origin camp just to take a little bit more experience. Because Louie's not there. They don't have a Tigers representative or Terrell May.
We'll get to that. They just need someone to come back with some Origin experience back to the Tigers. Could you imagine that, chat?
¶ State of Origin Build-Up
Could you imagine that Twitch stream? Adam Dewey talking about his experience in the Blues camp?
All the boys would have been better if it was twally anyway so yes teams got dropped over the weekend we'll start off with the mighty new south wales blues the reigning champions going for two in a row back at state back at suncorp stadium to try to beat the mighty queensland so we got dylan edwards at fullback we got brian and zach low max crichton and latrell in the centers, The big halves are Mitchell Moses and Nathan Cleary.
We've got Barnett Haas at the front row. Rhys Robinson at Hooker. Liam Martin. Angus Criden. Isaiah Yeo. And the bench of Connor Watson, Spencer Linu, Huddy Young, and Max King making his debut. Kyle, how do you feel about your New South Wales Blues for Team 1? I'm actually really stoked Maxie King got a run. I didn't even think about him. I didn't think about him either. Because I thought he was in England. So I didn't think he was eligible. Why? He was born in England. Yeah, it was. Oh.
That's what a lot of people said. They're like, oh, fair share. Yeah. Like, I thought he was having a rip a year. I just didn't think he was eligible for New South Wales. But it's also, they were talking about everybody else as well. His name wasn't really mentioned. Yeah. Like, he's been killing it, having a great season for him. Yeah. But no one was really mentioned. Everyone's focused on the whole Terrell May thing.
Jacob Saifidi. Yeah. I was going to say, even before that, they were talking about Jacob Saifidi, Stefano, and I'm like, they're playing like shit. That was just all a piss take to make Terrell May feel like shit. Well, yeah, we'll get the bloke in that couldn't even run on the field without doing his calf. Yeah, that'll work. To be honest, I like this team. I love the Mitchell-Moses-Cleary combo. Can they work, though?
Look, if you've got one guy that just goes, all right, I'm taking the back seat here. But if they work it out, it can be like fucking Thurston and Kronk. Laurie's already come out and said it's Cleary's team. Yeah. He's already said he's going to be the dominant one. Like Thurston was a halfback at the Cowboys. coming to Oryzen, he was the 5-8 second fiddle to Kronk. These two, there's nothing stopping them from being that.
I like the chat. Kronk was saying it was Kronk's team whenever he needed it, but if Thurston called for the fucking ball, Kronk was like, I've got to make sure JT gets the ball. Yeah. Or I'm getting fucking reamed. And if I get JT the ball, he'll probably be able to fucking do something. Yeah. And I have no doubt that Mitchell Moses can create it. I think they can play that too. I think they can play that too. And they can even switch it.
You saw, like I thought at the end of last year, Nathan Cleary was becoming a bit more of a 5.8 and he was running a lot more and being a lot more impactful at the line. They just got to go with the feel of the game. Like it might, you know, go a couple of times to Moses and he's killing it. He's got the, you know, the boot on the string when he's kicking game. He could just be going all good. And then Cleary might just naturally sort of take that back seat. Yeah.
Or, you know, he might step up. And because you can see Cleary can do it because what the other game, when they lost or they drew with the Cowboys, bloody Blaise Talungi had, what, five try assists or something ridiculous? Yeah. And that's next to Cleary. So, like, he knows. If you're on. The thing for me is that it's two big boots. We've got both sides of the ruck we can kick. Yeah. Lefty, righty. Yeah. It's fucking unreal. Like they said, it's probably the
first time in, what, 20 years that New South Wales probably have the better kicking game. Yeah. Yeah. I'm still a bit scared, though, because I just feel like in the past, whenever Nathan Cleary's paired up with another halfback to say, it's never really worked. We've lost a lot of those games where we've only started winning. Yeah, but you're coming up against red hot teams, especially in 2020. I just hope that Cleary and Moses can work it out because I just get scared
of that. You don't see that. Cleary seems sometimes just a bit too hesitant or tries to let the other guy do more as well when it's like, nah, mate, just you do seven, he's your six, but play. No, Lua, no Cleary. That's why I get nervous. And then the big elephant in the room is Terrell May did not get picked. He's been maybe the form front row in the comp other than Payne Haas. How do you feel about that, boys? It's a big call. And yes, we're happy for Max King, but is Max King being playing
better than Terrell May? No. Different sort of styles. You think? Like Maxie King rips in for 40, 50 minutes. Terrell May, he's got a big motor on him. He's similar to Payne Haas. If they're going to try and mold him to a Payne Haas style in Origin where he just rips in for 30 minutes, I'd fucking love to see it. But if Laurie Daly's come out and said that he's seen some things on the defensive side that is a bit lazy, I don't know about that.
Yes, there was that one game against Melbourne when they got pumped, but that whole team was shit. It's apparently, I heard someone else saying, it's his defensive movements. They're like, yeah, he can make, like, he made 63 tackles on the weekend, zero misses for someone he can't defend. But they said it's the way that he, like, just because he makes the tackle and he doesn't miss it doesn't mean he's not in the wrong spot. He's not, like, front-on taking the tackle.
Yeah, he's not. He's like a Nathan High Marshall. Yeah, you want to see one of those, what is it, the one-on-ones. It does coincide, though, a little bit with how Trent Robinson used to play him at the Roosters, like, last season. Like, that game against the Bulldogs where we got, like, Dom Young got sent off. He played 80 minutes and we went, you beauty. And then the next week he, what, played 12?
Yeah, so the week before he played the 80 and then the following week against the Dogs where Teddy got knocked out, Dom Young got sent. He was literally the last man on the bench. He played 15 minutes off the bench. And I couldn't figure it out, but maybe there is something about his- Probably because he can't move laterally or something. Maybe that is the case. And maybe that's what Laurie Daly's picked up on. I don't know.
But the worst thing for me about that is like, yes, he come out and said some stuff, but they weren't even going to pick him before he made the comments on the Twitch stream. Did you see that he's come out and held himself? Yeah, I did see that. I knew that he would. But like, because obviously, like you said, if you read the manuscript, it sounds terrible. But if you watch the stream, you can tell he's joking. I'll tell you what.
And it comes out at the end of it saying like, nah. Yeah. I would love to play in all this shit. But the fact that they like, like they said, instead of, you know, putting out all these things saying he can't defend, he can't do this, he can't do that, to try and soften the blow, just give him a call and say, hey man, you're right there. We just need you to work on these few things. Like don't, because apparently they didn't even call him at all. And then someone goes, but he's not in the squad.
He hasn't been in there before. Like why does he deserve a call? It's like you should be respecting everyone that you're trying to bring in. Like imagine if you're sitting there at home going, fuck, I'm probably not even going to get selected. But you get a phone call and go, mate, you are right there. I just need you to do these. And then you go, fuck yeah. I've just got a call from the fucking coach. And then he's going to, you know what I mean, rip and tear and get into it.
Because now, apparently, like, someone put, oh, you know, Terrell May overlooked, and one of the top comments was, yeah, because he can't tackle. And everyone's like, oh, well, now that's out there. When, you know, a couple of stories come out, a couple of whispers, and everyone's going to say he can't tackle. I think it's literally like what you touched on, the movements than actually the ability to tackle. Yeah. Because it will get found out in Origin. You do.
So, like, obviously, you can work on that. For me, though, our bench, I fucking love our bench. I was a bit sceptible about the Spencer Linu pick just because I just haven't felt like he's played good for the Roosters. But then I watched last week he played really well and then I sort of remembered how fucking good he did origin last year. I was going to say he was coming into the origin. He's got a role that he does very well that no one else can
do. I watched the highlights of him last year and I was like holy shit. He did that so I'm like nah I love it. I hope he plays like he did last weekend. Three hit ups two drop balls thank you very much. I don't remember that part. Maybe the week before he played well. He knocked out Saluka Fafido and knocked it on. And then he ran over someone. I think he ran over Max King. Dazed him a bit, but he played on. And then his next one, he come off the back fence and fucking
knocked it on again as well. Yeah. As much as I don't like Huddy Young, I'm glad he's on the bench, not the starting back row. I feel like maybe he has to start. I'm just worried. I don't know if he's got that. No, because the last couple of years he started. He's never started, has he? Yeah. He starts like every time. Every time there's an injury, he just goes straight on the starting side. He shits his pants. I feel like bringing him on via the bench is probably the best play here.
Because then you can pick your spots too. Yeah. Like, as the coach, like, in the start of the game, you don't know how it's going to go. So there's a lot of pressure on him early. He can't handle it. Whereas if you, like, sort of pick your spot and go, righto, as a team, we've got a lot of momentum here. He's an attacking player. Let's get him on for 15. They had to pick him. Towards the halftime to just rip. He's been probably the most form second row in the year.
Yeah, because he's picking a team on form. But you know Liam Martin- Terrible, mate. Liam Martin and Angus Croydon are going to do a job on the edges. I'm not too sure about the whole Isaiah Yeo at lock because we used to struggle when he played at lock. It's that Panthers style of football they said doesn't work at origin. So that's probably my nervous point is Yeo being back at lock. There's not really lock on the bench either, unless they play Watson at 13.
They go Connor Watson at 13. I heard someone say, which I thought was a good idea, they said you should start Watson. He just gets out there, rips and tears, and then when the game opens up and you can attack, Then you get Yo on there to sort of spread the ball a little bit more. Otherwise, you know, he might want to be. But he plays so good for you when he just plays for the front row.
Yeah. That's why I was still pushing last week before it all happened, just to let Jake Travoye still play those first 20 minutes and bring Yo on the bench because it worked so well last year. He got hatred. He can't play now. And I don't think they were going to do it anyway because he does look a bit past. But I was still pushing for that just because I think it worked so good the last two years. Yeah. He just looks so much better when he's just. Because he's massive.
He's huge. Considering he started as a center too, it was fucking wild. And I think it's just his motor, but after that first 20 minutes, he can play football. He has that motor just to keep going where, you know, the first 20 minutes of Origins, fucking hectic. Well, one of the games last year, it was like that for basically 70 minutes. Yes. Tell you what, a bit of a hot take. I reckon the way he's been going this year, I reckon Liam Martin needs to have
himself a series. Otherwise, I reckon he could get pushed out with the amount of back rolls that he got in form. Yeah. Maybe. Like, I reckon he's been picked on last year. I think every time he's put on a blue jersey, though. That's what I mean. That's what I mean. So, if he has a quiet series, I reckon there's a lot of young, a lot of up-and-coming, like Huddy Young and Ola Kawatu and all them that are just rip-pressed in.
If someone, like, are all just ripping and tearing, that it's going to be hard for him to keep his spot. I think it's impossible for him to have a quiet. Yeah, I was going to say, I don't think Liam Munn will have a quiet Horizon series. It's either going to be bad or really good. I just feel like he's got some pressure on him, I reckon. Yeah. Yeah, and I think Angus Croydon's got pressure too. And the back line, you think it's picked itself? Yeah.
Like the fact that Campbell Graham still can't get into that team. I don't know if you guys saw Campbell Graham on the weekend. Oh, man, he had a ripper. He was a straight jacket. Which is, it's good because what was it? Was it two years ago or three years ago? Not last year, year before. When he was on the lineup? Last year, year before, when he hurt himself like right before. Yeah.
Two years ago. And he was like the form center of the comp. And he was nearly going to, he was going to make it over Luttrell basically. And then he got injured and then last year he got injured again so it's good to see him finally getting because a lot of people are like oh Campbell Graham and I'm like he's been injured before that he had like I feel 18 months just being a weapon honestly.
Like Stephen Croydon is probably one of the best if not the best defensive centre in the game and he's attacked the last two weeks too holy shit yeah but if he was to succumb to that groin injury and we replace him with Campbell Graham, like we lose a little bit in an attack yeah, Defensively, we're no weaker, I don't think. No, no way. On that though, what do you reckon the chances are? Payne, Huss and Crichton playing. I reckon Crichton's all right. Under the little bit of a cloud.
I like the thing, he had that going into the Bulldogs game too. And they said that shows what it means for him for the Bulldogs team because he was willing to go out there and risk his spot in the Origin team for his club team. Where there's a lot of players that probably would have on a bit ouchies. Yeah. You know what I mean? And not want to go into it. Fucking nearly cost me a draft, though. Big 18 points. That fucking... Lucky Appy came out with a fucking 140 boys.
Anyway, beautiful. That's it. New South Wales Day. What about you, Carter? Just a quick summary, because how do you feel about it? Nah, I'm pretty stoked. Like I said, there's a couple of things that gets me a bit nervous. I think just the yo at 13 really scares me, just because we did it for so many years and never really worked. It didn't work. Didn't really win this game. We didn't start doing, being improved or playing better footy.
And I think it was when Laurie Daly was the coach again. I'm just worried. It's like we're falling back into that trap. Do you think? Hopefully we've learned the last two years how to play with him a bit. And I think Joe will learn and it'll work. Do you think they were sort of forced to put him in the starting side because he wanted him to be his captain? Nah, nah. Kirk Gidley? I think, I think maybe it's forced because it was. It's a fair shout actually.
Nah. Because it has been working. But who else? If you want your captain. I think it just got forced when Jake DeVoyers got pulled out because there's no one else that would have played that 20 minutes like he can play and we can trust him to play that 20 minutes so good. Banging fucking Cam McInnes, mate. Get him back out of the fucking the swell of the well-up. Get in there. Brother, he loves biting angles for 20 minutes. But I'm happy they went clear
in Moses. They're the best two halves we got. They'll make it work, I really think, and I think it's good. I think we just need to also... Because he looks like he's a fucking an old man. I hope he's loose just so Louie can talk shit about his. But what I'm hoping is that if we do actually lose this first one. That we're not quick to just jump and... Yeah, no panic. ...cut Mitchell Moses and Cleary. Like, this is the first run they've had together.
Why are they going to cut Dylan Edwards if we lose straight away? That's what I was thinking, too. I'm like, straight away, they're just going to panic, and it's going to be bloody, get to the house, go back in. Get this person back in. Yeah. You've got to remember, we are playing at Suncorp, so we are favorites, but, you know, Suncorp is hard to win the state of origin games at. When was the last time we were favorites at Suncorp?
Oh, a while ago. 2020? because all three of them were at Suncorp? Yeah, maybe that year. So only because you had three chops at the Cherry? No. Yous would have been favourites in game three of 2020 after pumping us, what, 54-6 or whatever in that second game. Was that when they played at Gold Coast though? Because they played the three games at Queensland, Gold Coast, Townsville then. I'm pretty sure. I don't think we're both. I'm not sure. Anyway, let's get to the other side of the border.
The border we live in. The border we love to live in. But fuck the morons. But here is their red hot team. I'm glad for this origin discussion you're wearing blue, Cody. At least you come to the right side, mate. Listen here. Did you notice how I took my moron shirt off and put the blue jumper on? Oh, no. I just seen you come out with your fucking titties out. And I thought, oh, what's going on here? That's something to look at across the table. And then you put a jumper on.
I thought, oh, fucking schnitzel tits over here. Anyway, we start off with the mighty hot boy, Caelan Ponga, our fullback. Xavier Coates and Holmes on the wing. Hammer. Hammer. And Robert Toya in the centres. No, go on. Try and say his name. No, I can't. I can never do it right. Cameron Munster, David Cherivans are your halves. We've got Tino and Foddle Waker at your front row. Harry Grant, the hooker. We've got Reuben Cotter and Nanai in the edges and Paddy Carrigan at 13.
Your bench, Tommy Dearden, Lindsay Collins, Both of them are Trent. Trent. Liero. Trent. Trent. Cody. Trent. Trent from Punchy. Cody, your beloved Queensland, the team you can always barrack no matter what. How do you feel about your 17? I don't know. Hopefully this is one of those ones where, you know, everyone writes us off. Because when everyone writes us off and puts us on the back foot and says, we've got no chance, that's normally when we play our best.
But I'm just not sure. They keep saying, do you trust Billy? But I don't know. I love Munster. I love having Munster back. But then it's normally at least, you know, last year and the year before, like Cherry Evans was in form. I don't think he's in as form as he normally is. Munster's ripping and tearing. Ponga, not in form. Val Holmes is, you know, but changing. I think he might be changing sides and wing because Coates, they're not going to move Coates off the left. Oh, yeah, true.
And I know I'm pretty sure. Would you put Hammer to the wing and put Val at left center? No. Nah. Oh, I mean, if left, left would be nice. Yeah. And put Hammer on. But Coates used to play right wing when he was at the Broncos. Yeah, that's what someone else said. So I'm not sure what they're going to do there. Because Holmes can't play in the centers. If Holmes was marking up against Trellymitt, then game over. So putting him on the wing, I love his tough carries, and he rips and tears.
He's still one of the best finishers. I think you forget how good he is. Oh, no, that's so mean. Like, he's unreal. That's why I want to see him on the wing. I didn't even think of it. I was like, oh, who are we going to bring in? Are they going to put Cobbo there? Are we going to have to bring some young guy in? And then they went to Holmes. And I went, oh, yeah. The only one was I didn't expect it to be Toya. Do you know why? But who else? I didn't realize we were that short on centers.
No, do you know why I reckon Billy's picked Toya at center? He's going to mark up on trail. And he'd done a decent game, decent job against him last time. That game with Versailles... That time that we first saw us, Luttrell was going down left, our right. Toya got him every time. Yeah. He did. I reckon that's the game that got him the origin call. It did, but I don't know if I can see that happening. Luttrell with a blue jersey after a few more games. Obviously. Yeah, obviously.
But I'm just saying that I think that's... That's probably one of the hardest jobs in rugby league is marking up against Luttrell Mitt in origin. I think the only other pick could have been Gagai, but I think they've sort of... Gagai got fucking pwned by him last time they've fucking played each other. And they've just passed Gagai, I think, now. So I think... And I just don't know if there's any more up-and-comers. And he's, like, he's, what?
I think they said he's, like, you know, 6'3", 100 kilos or whatever. It's his 10th game of fucking top-grade footy, though. It's crazy. Payne Haas only played 10 before he's picked him. And that was Purdue, too, you could have went to. Nah, he too little. He too little. That's why I was saying, like, at least Toy is, like, 6'3", 100 kilo. Like, he's solid. He's not a little boy. No. Did you know about Toy is where he was born?
Kyle? That's in Queensland. Yeah, another one of those boys. It's everywhere. One of those ones. I did see, was it the guru going on about, you should just change Queensland to the rest of the world, basically. Queensland and the rest of the world. Another Kiwi, but nah. Oh, yeah, right open. England. We got two blokes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But yeah. To do. I think, I don't think he was going to play Robert Toyer, but then when Murray got pulled off injured, Murray Talagi.
Pulled off. It must have been a good pull off if he got injured. He said he wasn't going to play. I think he would have been your winger. Cobbo was under a cloud. Yeah, I think he was going to be a winger and Holmes was going to play center. But that's what they've done now. Well, that's normally what it would have done. But then, you know, a couple of wingers down. Cobbo. Was, you know, possibly had that fractured hand or foot or whatever it was. Wrist.
But he got cleared anyway. I don't mind it, to be honest. I reckon Toy's got something about him. I'll find out. Yeah, if he was fucking anyone else. Well, no. No, no, no. Only because, like, obviously watch Roosters games quite closely. Yeah. Like, if he was playing for another team that I'm not really watching, like, if he was playing for the Knights, I'd be like, fucking idiots. Because he does have a bit about him. He's got that defense,
but he does have that explosive step. And he's got a good palm on him, too. Like, I mean, you just got pumped by us in game one, like Broncos, Roosters. You got pumped by us. But in that first 20 minutes, he was making our left side look like they'd never even played rugby league before. Yeah. He was making breaks. He's got the ingredients for an Odrin, but he's definitely going, I can't wait to see. He's going to get tested.
And I can't wait. I think he's, he'll, it'll just be interesting to see whether he can handle the bright lights. Oh yeah. But, you know, if there's anyone whispering in you, you're going to get you up for a game. It'd be fucking. Billy, the whisperer. Old silly baiter. The old silly baiter. And let's get to it. The forwards, the pigs. Do you like it? The pigs. Can we start at the back? I thought we were already talking about the back.
And say, no, we haven't talked about a fucking Knights player getting picked. How the fuck can you pick a Knights player? This is going to test him. Now, this is really going to show whether your system's fucked or not. I'm telling you. If he comes out and rips and tears. He's still, other monster, Pong is still the scariest player in this team. And I don't give a fuck how shit he's playing for Newcastle. Billy Slater, he's going to rip and fucking tear. And I hate it.
This is where I want to see it.
¶ Team Selections and Reactions
I hate it. this is where I want to see it because there's been Queensland players before where like I think one of them like Brent Tate you go how the hell is he getting picked and he'd come out and he'd just fucking do his job and he'd carve up can't go the same back in the day he fucking well yeah he scored more tries for more tries than six games for the Queensland than he did for two years for the Knights well done.
But Ponga that's why I'm like I'm waiting to see I was like because if he has a shitter there then you go what's going on with Ponga because he's been quiet lately and I think and then coming into that last year you heard him he wasn't they picked Walsh over him and stuff like that. Are you thinking that this might ignite him for the Knights? I hope he realises this is the wake-up call to leave the Knights and go to the fucking Bears or something. Roosters.
Not the Roosters. Anywhere else except the Roosters. Yeah, I heard Teddy's going to push to the wing like Minichello did that time. No, there's actually Chester. Nah, mate, trust me. Caleb Plunger is going to turn up, and I hate it. Or he's going to get injured and not play for Newcastle again this year. One of the two. Fucking hell. I actually don't mind that shit. He's going to go one of those two ways.
He's going to win us the game, get me out of the match, but like fucking snap his leg and be out for 12 weeks. Yeah, so that was the other one I was like, you can't be picking Knights players. But who else are you going to pick as your fullback? See, I was on it just for fucking shits and gigs. Put money back there, baby. Put money back there and then bring Dearden on because Dearden fucking played well last year at a beaten side. I reckon Dearden was your best player, probably outside of Daly.
Because he just goes and he just runs and he's just a competitor and he gets in there and he just bites ankles and his defense is good. You know he's going to give 110%.
So when I heard that shout, I was like, we've done it before, not to play Dearden but we have put money money back there before after he like you know when he was in his five eight days put him back there and he you know he's going to have a crack you know he's going to be scheming and all that sort of stuff obviously you know he's a bit older now so, it's probably not the best idea he probably doesn't especially after the uh
the hips the old hips don't lie last year with his surgery and stuff in the offseason he probably doesn't have that much running in him but I've just thought it'd be just pretty funny just if you name bloody Munster at the back But obviously, Billy not that silly Yeah no Yeah cause you gotta get I don't know how they're gonna Obviously you know They're probably just gonna Bring him in on lock With Dearden They'll probably just play Like they do Ben Hunt Yeah I don't know I
don't think you'll play Hooker though. I don't think, yeah, but not like Hunt. He won't play as many minutes at hooker as Hunt. No, he'll play a little bit more 13, I think, in the middle as well. That's what I mean. Like, you can't have him just come on and play, what, 15, 20 minutes at hooker. He'll play like what Kronk did, how maybe like five minutes. Not really, not as hooker because Smith never went off, but he just helped Smith when he was a bit gassed. It's gone.
But mainly he's played a 13-bring, just an extra playmaker. Yeah, because he's got good defense and he's a mongrel, so he just gets in there. So I reckon he would be good at that lock, spread the ball, You know, fuck Fodawaker off and put Paddy Carrigan up front and then just sit. You know what? I hope they play Fodawaker like they played fucking Jake Chaboyevich last year. Give him a solid 10 and get him the fuck off. I was going to say, I thought you were really keen with his selection.
It was a shocking... I thought Horsborough had him easily... Now, right now, so I'm skipping around the team here. Harves, whatever. Yeah, cool. Fodawaker needs to not be in the team. I don't think he's played anywhere near good enough. You've got to start Lindsay Collins. What impact does he bring off the bench? He's only played 20 minutes in the last eight weeks. Yeah, but he's not an impact player. He's not going to come on and give you impact.
He comes on, he toils, he runs hard, and occasionally jumps over your fullback to set up a try. Well, hear me out. That's it. So you put him up there, and then you bring big red off the bench. So when Spencer Lenu comes on, you send that fucking fiery red end on there and go, don't get sent off, but go in there and just fuck this guy up. Well, hear me out. I know Billy Slade loves a late change. I do feel like they're going to change it. And I feel like Cotto will start at eight.
In fact, Mo back to the bench. And I think Bo Firm is going to start on the edge. I don't love Cotto as a starting second row. And I think that's going to be my favorite. No, see, we say that every time. He can play there, but I think Bo Firm is a fucking awesome player. Cotto played back row for like a whole game there at one point. Because he killed it. I think he ended up standing there for the series. Yeah. But like I said, I think you're right about the Mo, I don't like him starting.
So I think put him back to the bench. If anything, you bring him off the bench. And be firmer. Because I believe he would have more impact coming off the bench than a Lindsay Collins. Lindsay Collins, you know, he doesn't have the footwork. Yeah, basically. He doesn't have the footwork. He doesn't have, you know, that explosive speed. You know, he's not going to go out there and do a Spencer Lenu. So I don't see the point. I do find it really ironic. And he's not going to
go on there and smash Spencer Lenu. Like he might because it's Queensland vs New South Wales But they're teammates. He's going to have to put up with that for the rest of the year. Like, you know what I mean? Like, and, and we don't have like, where's the mongrel? I know. I really. Gilbert. I feel sorry for Gilbert. I feel really sorry for him because he's done his fucking peck. Gone. Another 12 weeks. He's gone for another 12 weeks, which is like. And he was going to be in this
team. He would have made it. He would have been the starting back row. Yeah, I think so. But he brings that little bit of mongrel. And then that's what big red bought too. But then we don't have anyone with mongrel. Paddy Carrigan, dog. he'll go all day but he doesn't have that extra little bit of fucking brouhaha same as Tino Tino's Tino.
Can fire up we haven't seen him in Origin for a couple of years so you know he might have that he might have that extra bit of fire they're gonna come at it again they're gonna do it I hope so that'll be sick to see I'm all about Barry Furmore I think he's gonna show you he's got the fucking Queensland mungle too, I reckon he does he's got that country look bro yeah he'll go and he'll fucking rip him but he doesn't have that fucking,
that Spencer and even that Huddy Young Huddy Young has got that like I will fucking I'm gonna beat you I'm gonna get you I'm gonna fucking stir you up Liam Martin, is the same that's what I thought you were missing too I think Lizzie Collins has got it I think he's shown us that last couple origins which I hate he doesn't not that niggle not that fucking get into you he'll just keep coming at you and he'll do that play but I just don't feel like he's got that I find it real,
that's what I think you're missing with Luai as well cause he was fucking getting under cherry Terry Evans and Skin. He was, anytime Terry Evans was anywhere, Lua was fucking in him, in his head. Just noise, noise, noise. And we got none of it. I don't want to jump back to it. I do think New South Wales was going to miss Lua a little bit with that thing, but Moses and Cleo are better halves. They had to go that way. But I think we are missing Lua a little bit.
I think he just hurt himself going to the Tigers because of their shit. Anyway. But, like, I just find it ironic that the Titans probably have the softest defense in the middle, and you've picked both their front rowers. That's weird. You fucking take Tino's mouth out of your hands. You take his name out of your fucking mouth. Oh, obviously not. Tino's a different fan. I thought about that, though, when I said it. I was like, we've got the starting Titans front row.
And we've got three of their forwards. Tino plays 13, though. Yeah, but still in the middle. But still, he's a fucking freak. He is. It's Mo and whoever the other front rower is for the Titans. Who's that? Oh, Regan Cavill. But like, yeah, so I don't know, I feel. And then who have we got? We've got on now. We've got Kurt Mann, 18th Mann. Bulldogs are blowing up. Jesse Arthur. Bulldogs are blowing up again going, why can't they just pick an 18th man from a team that's not fucking playing?
Because he won't be playing for them with all the injuries and people out. Jesse Arthur. He's a perfect, Kurt Mann's a perfect 18 though. Like he can play nearly everywhere. Yeah. Jesse Arthur. It's like Matt Darden. Another New Zealander. And who? Finny Fuiaki. If so, it's Red Bank Plains, boy. If you know Fubiaki, like, and Big Red can't even get a look. I know. How do you feel about Trent Liero? He has been playing good. He was 18th man last year. The game against the Raiders,
though, when he lost his head a bit. That's weird. I was surprised. That's what they said. They thought that might have. Yeah. Unless Billy Slater rang him and he went, brother, pull your head in. You're right there. I'm a stall boy. Yeah. You're right there. And I reckon even Bellamy would have done the same thing. Oi, what was that? He hadn't done nothing all and then just went fucking three penalties like that. Bang, bang, bang.
A bit annoyed, though, I did trade out Corey Horsborough last week in Supervisuals because I thought he was a lock for this team. Oh, well. I got rid of him a while ago. Yeah. But, yeah, I thought for sure Big Red was going to be there. Like, he's played before, and I feel like he's playing better this year than he did then. He's got rid of the bullshit in the offseason. You can tell, you know, him and Ricky had those problems, but they're fine now.
I thought maybe he would have made it, but then as soon as Tommy Gilbert got injured, I'm like, bang, definitely he'll be on the bench. Well, that's what they said. Maybe, like, you look at it and you go, but then, yeah, if these are the next ones that have come in because Gilbert's out, Like how far back was Big Red? And, but what is he, what is he seeing in Fodawaker? Cause you know, Billy watches all this film. I guess Fodawaker has been there
the last two years and done a job for him. I think. They lost last year. I don't know, but just so you trust him. I don't know. But like. Well, you maybe can't trust Corey. He's not going to lose his head and get said to him or something. A fullback in Ponga, you know, he's got that like big upside, but what, what massive upside does Fodawaker have? I'm not sure.
You know, what, what are we like, what's he going to just, oh, you know, he's been a bit out of form, but watch him once he hits Origin. Oh, what, he's going to have fucking two extra runs and make three more tackles. Like, because he's not that guy. Yeah. Like, a Tino is different. You know, if he's a bit out of form, but he can get in there, because he's got the footwork, he's got the speed, he's got the agility, he might be able to, you know, make something happen out of nothing.
But Mo is just a normal bing, bing, bing, bing, bing. And we've got that in fucking Collins, on the bench, who's meant to be impact. Okay, Colin. You're going to have him fucking come on all docile while Spencer Lenu's running laps around him. Okay. He's just got to, he's just, Lindsay's just got to pack up a few extra more avocado seeds than usual. Fuck, we'll jump. If he outjumps fucking Dylan Edwards. Anyway, anything else about the Queensland team before we move on?
Yeah, I want to see what kind of fucking left field inclusions into our extended squad. Oh, yeah. Playing fucking thing. We haven't got any, but you've got Adam Dewey. You're right. You're in Queensland though, at full Queensland, so they just. I reckon just a sneaky, sneaky play. Now, because, like, Cody has a trend of just berating certain players and then they just have fucking ripper games. Oh, so Moe for a double? Moe for a trial. Just any time. Just any time. Ain't a lot.
Could you imagine? Okay. Well, it happened last year. Was it the year before when I was bagging out bloody Hammer? Hammer at centre. And then he just lit everyone up. Yeah, and he's, what, nine tries in seven games or something? All right, boys, we're getting to the same game as we? I was going to ask you quickly, Kyle. Yeah. Who's your player or two players in New South Wales who are going to win us this game? Do you believe?
That win us this game? Who's having a big game out of one or two players? To be honest, I reckon Dill Edwards. Yep. And you have to go Cleary. But Panthers. Not playing the best of Panthers. Do you think that is going to... Dill Edwards. Everyone's not worried about Dill Edwards at all. Well, Dill Edwards is a good shout because everyone this year has been talking about Tedesco. Everyone was the other way around and whether he'd take Tedesco's spot.
And now he's there. He's getting all that heat of Tedesco being in form. And everyone going, he should pick Tedesco, Tedesco, Tedesco. So he should have to come out. There was even a percentage of people were saying, pick Pappy over at Dylan Edwards. Pappy was in some form and then he had a bit of an ordinary game on the weekend. Cody, Queensland, who needs to be your players to win this game? Who needs to have a fucking red hot rip?
Is it Caelan Ponger monster? Same bloke all the time. Money. Yeah. It's big money. No, Ponger. Fuck Ponger. . You know, look, the one that I want to have a good game to give us a really good chance is Toya. Toya. That's the match-up. Toya. Toya. Beautiful. Okay, before same-game multis, let's just have a quick little, who's winning the game, scoreline, man of the match.
Well, quickly before that, I was saying to use off-air, and for those of you who plan at home, the game next week is at Suncorp on the 28th of May.
Now this has already happened three times in history It was like 64-90 something 2014 So a decent span of time has passed But all of them were played at Suncorp on the 28th of May And New South Wales has won all three of them, In some pretty tight affairs if I may add as well I should have saved the photo so I could see exactly what the scores were But low scoring affairs, New South Wales win in Queensland if that's going to push anyone over the line for certain bets they were going to place.
Yeah, right. When was the last time they went back-to-back at Suncorp, though? That's also another one. Yeah. It'd be a long time. Yeah, if it ever happened. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Look, I'm going to take the Blues. Yep. What? Yeah, I know. Weird. I wouldn't bet on them, to be honest. I don't like the whole $1.66 odds at Suncorp. No value in that for me. What do we bet? $2. Let me just scroll back up to the top here. $2.23. That's some value for me, to be honest. 13 plus.
Yeah. Give me the Blues. Do you want scoreline? Yeah, of course. I'm going to be a fucking rip snorter. Blues, 22, 18. Ooh, overs. He's pumping the overs by half a point. Is that overs? It's 39 and a half the line. Fuck, I'm good. He's looking for overs. Oh, it's dropped to 38 and a half. just because of you just because you verbalised it who's your man to match. We're going Dee Edwards. Dee Edwards. Dee Edwards. Nice. Big K, do you want to go next?
No, you go, mate. I got it. Stick with New South Wales. Yeah, well, I'm picking New South Wales to win just because I have to, and I think they can win. You don't have to, bud. It's a two-horse race, mate. But it is Suncorp, so I don't think we'll win by much. It's going to be close. I think we'll win. I'm going to go a little bit lower, because it's always hard to score in the first game. I'm going to go 18-14.
I think our defense is going to be pretty red high. I think Queensland is going to struggle a little bit to score points. And man of the match for me, I think he hasn't really, I think it's going to be Mitchell Moses. Like, I'm all about Cleary's, I rate Cleary more than Mitchell Moses, but I think Mitchell Moses is the form, like he just killed it last game. So Mitchell Moses have a game. Killed it last game as the guy, as the chief.
So I think he's just going to be the, not the chief, but he's going to have the moments, the assists.
¶ Predictions and Player Highlights
He's going to run the game and get man of the match. Nah, what's his name? Isaiah, he's going to get in his way. So he's not used to playing like that. He's not used to playing at the back of a lock with ball playing. What about you, Coach? I'm going low, I reckon. I reckon it's going to be a bit of a clunky game. I reckon you guys, you know, overall, in me heart of hearts, if I'm thinking, like, just football sense, I think New South Wales are going to win the series again.
Just because, no, but I reckon we're going to get game one. I reckon it's going to be the same as last year where he's won the last two. Because I reckon it's going to take a game for Moses and Cleary to click and get it all flowing. Well, they'll drop someone if we lose. So I'm thinking, nah, I don't reckon Laurie will drop either one of them. It's not a Hines or a, I don't know, Hodgkinson or whatever. But I'm going low. I'm thinking like a Queensland win. As long as neither of
them miss a tackle or a Munster. 12-10. 12-10? 12-10. I'm going low. I'm going only a few tries. 12-10 to Queensland. 12-10 to Queensland. and my mom my mom. It's got to be Munster. It has to be. He's just, if you look across the squad, the number one person you're afraid of is Munster because he has done it to you. Not according to my bloke to my left. Nah, I saw Munster first. He's still scary. He's Wally Lewis reincarnated from Queensland. It's fucked. I hate it. He just does shit.
He just does shit. Pulls it out of his ass. Looks backwards. He just looks there, stands there. Tackle the fucker. Big spiders on him. Nightmares. I hate it. Queensland, 12-10. Money. Beautiful. All right, let's get to it, boys. So we're going to have a same game multi each because it's State of Origin. We love it. And you guys have shit takes and I know what I'm doing. So we're going to do that. And then we are going to have a muttly new... You have... We have shit takes
and you know what you're doing. Just run it. Just run it. Wait for the next episode. And then we're going to have a muttly multi State of Origin because we love it. So let's get around it. Mates against mates multi. And I'll go first because, you know, I can't not go Luttrell for New South Wales scoring a try. He just loves scoring for New South Wales. He's running the rookie. They're going to give him some traffic. So he's going to, he just loves it. So he's going to score.
I don't like, I'm going to go to New South Wales 1-12 because I think we'll win. And I don't think we're going to win by more than 13. So lock that in. And you're going to have the last leg of this bet. Guaranteed that one of these teams is winning 13 plus. And you're going to hate this last bet. But he's been so shit all year. But he's going to put a Queensland jersey on. And he's going to score the first try of the year for himself. Maybe second, but anyway. And that's Caleb Ponga, baby.
And for four bucks, Caleb Ponga, give me that. So Ponga into Luttrell to New South Wales, 1 to 12. An animal. Beautiful. $22. Get around it. I'm just going to quickly jump on there, mate, because I had the same thought. I'm also on Ponga. Because I was like, he hasn't been able to score for fucking Newcastle all year. Put him in this Queensland side with actually some decent halves, and he could actually probably do something. And at $4, that is bulk value, I believe.
So I've just gone, I haven't gone ridiculous. I've just paired him up with Zachy Lomax. That's it. Him and Zachy Lomax. Oh, Lomax. I thought about a two-legged, but I was like, nah, boring. And it's Moses and, what do you call it? Lomax. Lomax. They played their first game last weekend. Got a little bit of... Called it. So then they come back into this one. Bit of a kicking game. No worries. Yeah, just give me KP and Lomax for $7.75. Nice. I'm chucking $10 on that, baby.
Right off of mine. I'm going him. He was talking about it before when I was talking shit about him a few years back, and then I said he scored nine tries in seven games. Fucking ready to try that guy. So he likes getting over. He's quick. He is coming up against Crichton, but I reckon he can do enough. I've got the hammer any time. and then I've also gone... He's scoring some freakish tries lately. He's in good form. I reckon he's been playing well for the Storm.
I reckon he's going to go to another level playing with Queensland. Xavier Coates, anytime. And to tie into what I said before, I've got the Queensland winning margin to be 1-5. Oh! Juicy.
¶ Same Game Multi and Wrap-Up
25-25. Now, boys, do we want to have a sneaky multi on this? We pick one leg each and we just chuck a 15 on it. Oh, yeah, because I know what I'm doing. Are we going big? What do you mean, what are we going big? Like, are we going to go, like, a big loosey one? No, no. Are you picking fucking Maui? No, no, no. You just pick one of the legs you just put in your multi. Oh, oh, oh. And we put the three of them together. Oh, boring.
Oh, Hemmer. Your lock. What's your lock out of your multi? I say, yo, yuck. What's definitely happening in your multi? Latrell's my lock. For going locks. So, Latrell, Hemmer. And Lomax. And Lomax, right? Yeah. Yeah. I was going to say, if you went Ponga. I thought he was going Ponga for sure. Nah, if you say Locke, he's my more confident one. That's gold. So, 11 bucks. So, that's our Muttley multi? Yeah. Okay. We should do a big one because I've got someone I want to chuck on.
Are you going to go Spencer Lenu off the bench? Nah, nah. Not that crazy. Huddy Young? Huddy Young. He's the informed try scorer of our own. He's like paying 750. I love it. That's a... Like, I don't... Game two. What do you mind for game two? I just love it. He's an informed guy. All right. So 15 on that, boys. Yeah, nice. Easy done. Beautiful.
