Hey, what up everyone and welcome to the Daily Drip here on the Growthcast with me, Dallas Pruit. Here's something that is super easy to do. Point the finger of blame. Look, we're all guilty of this, and it's not just pointing the finger at people. Sometimes it's the weather or the industry. Unfairness runs rampant and it's easy to point the finger when things don't go according to plan.
Or when an unexpected or even expected challenger setback pops up. Think about these statements here. If it wasn't for so-and-so, we would've won. If the weather hadn't turned, we would've totally gotten it done. It's all so-and-so's fault. These are all different variations of statements that we either say or hear others say.
So the tactic of the day is this. Assume responsibility in these moments when you feel like pointing that finger of blame in that moment, tank ownership in that very specific moment. Instead of pointing the finger of blame, which is easy to do, do something that's a little bit harder and take ownership of the situation.
Become comfortable and confident enough to say it's my fault. Not just this time, but every time. Blame yourself or blame nobody. Today is an invite to eliminate all other options when it comes to trials, shortcomings, imperfect situations, projects that don't make it across the finish line in time, imperfect relationships that need work or whatever else it may be.
Eliminate all other responses, but two, those being either blame yourself, or blame no one. Quit taking the easy road. Ownership is tough. Assume responsibility for the outcome. Care enough to not so easily. Throw that finger of blame around. Instead, retain your power and make a difference. Have a great day, everybody, and we'll see you guys back here again next time.
