What up? What up, everybody? Welcome and good morning. This is the Daily Drip here with me, Dallas Pruitt, and I want to share a quote. I want to kick things off on today's drip with a quote by E. B. White, and this quote is on the power of books. Books hold most of the secrets of the world, most of the thoughts that men and women have had. And when you are reading a book, you and the author are alone together, just the two of you. A library is a good place to go when you feel unhappy. For there in a book, you may find encouragement or comfort. A library is a good place to go when you feel bewildered or undecided. For there in a book, you may have your question answered.
Books are good company in sad times and happy times. For books are people. People who have managed to stay alive by hiding between the covers of a book. This is from the letters to the children of Troy. And this is a powerful idea that books hold the secrets of the world. And I have found this quote to be deeply true in my own life. And today's invite is to grow your library. Look, you are on a journey specific to you and your mission and the things that you are striving to accomplish, build, create, and impact the world with. There are a lot of resources out there.
There are a lot of mentors out there, both dead and alive, that could provide you with high levels of value to help you build better, to help you make an impact within all of those things that we just ran through. And my question for you is, what does your library currently look like? How deep is it, and are you in alignment? Look, there's a lot of gurus out there, and they tell you that you should be reading books, that you should be reading X amount of books a year. And look, the truth is this. You should be reading because every leader is a reader. And if you truly want to lead out your mission, well, then it's a habit you have to cultivate and create. But the truth is this.
If those books are out of alignment with the things that you are striving towards, then that process is diluted. So my invite today is again, twofold, one. Deepen your library, deepen your queue. Find some mentors, find some books, get going, feed that habit. But as important and in conjunction with that is make sure that those things are in alignment with where you're headed. That is a powerful combination, because, again, these books hold the secrets to the world. There are people out there who have done not necessarily the exact same thing you are doing and building, but there are a lot of people out there who have done very similar things and gone through very similar challenges and Adversity and everything else. And they are there to help you. You just got to go find them. So again, power of books, real.
And the invite is to deepen your library, read the lead so that you can go out and really make the impact you're truly capable of. Have a great day and we will see you guys back here on the podcast again
